I bought this for my daughter who is just starting 1st grade, thinking it would be a fun backpack for her. Well, it's fun, and it's cute, but there's no way it could be used as a backpack in any serious sense of the word. This would barely hold a sack lunch. Still, she loves it, and says she wants to use it as a purse, and the price was relatively cheap, so I don't really have a lot to complain about.
