I bought each of my three kids one of these so they could schlep their own gear to swimming practice all winter. The web pocket on the back is great for keeping goggles, cap and wet swimsuits. The top holds a large beach style towel that the kids like to burry themselves in after practice. The side pockets are perfect for storing things like glasses cases and the like.

The Jr bag is small enough that my 5 year old is able to carry it loaded with her towel, goggles and cap. After changing it holds her street clothes and a jacket.

Many of the older kids on their team have the full sized bag Speedo Pro Backpack I would go with the full sized Pro bag for kids over 10 or so, or a single child where the parent does not mind carrying the bag. The bigger bag holds things like swim fins that this bag would struggle with.

If you are taking more than one younger child to swim practice and you want them to carry their own gear, I would recommend this bag.

I bought this backpack to take with me on a trip to Disney with my 5 and 8 year old sons. It was perfect. Just the right size, the water resistance came in handy on Splash Mountain. I could easily carry both boys sweatshirts, wipes, a couple of water bottles, sunglasses and sunscreen with us everywhere, without feeling like I was carrying a huge bag! I was really happy with the purchase and will be using it again when we take another outing.

I bought this backpack to take with me on a recent trip to France. Purses always make my shoulder hurt and a backpack (with both straps on) is more difficult to snatch. This bag turned out to be just about perfect. The dimensions in the product info are a little off by my measurements it's about 14" L x 6.5" W x 15" H, the length being the amount of space it will take up along your waistline. The straps were very comfortable, there were lots of useful little pockets, and that big wide opening on the top was great. I was able to fit my netbook, a light sweatshirt, a bottle of water, my wallet, a French phrasebook, some sunscreen, and a few other odds and ends and still have some extra room for souvenirs. I really liked this top-opening design I have a full size backpack that zips all the way around the top and it's always flopping open while I'm trying to pack it up, but this one stayed propped open by itself just fine.

One small issue is that the crescent-shaped pocket in the front (with the Speedo logo on it) actually goes all the way to the bottom of the bag. There are some narrow spaces on either side of that black mesh pocket on the bottom where something small can slide down and get stuck. I lost a few hairclips and some Euro cents down there. It was also a little hot to be wearing in the summer, but that isn't the bag's fault. The back has some nice padding so it was very comfortable other than the heat. I bought the silver one because it was the cheapest, and it's very nice. I was afraid it would be too shiny, but it wasn't an issue.

Great for a pair of shoes and briefs, but don't even think of packing a large towel with shower clogs, soap, and sunglasses. Very convenient, nice array of pockets, good quality zippers.
