I will be upfront here at the beginning. When I bought this Wenger Swiss Gear Mythos computer backpack I did not need it. I already have a Nikon Backpack for DSLR, Lenses, and Laptop that I have used for over a year now (which is fabulous). Purchasing this bag was definitely an impulse action (on sale) as I do happen to like Wenger Swiss Gear products. That said, on with the review.The first thing I will say is that I do not have anything negative to say about this item. Not even remotely.
It is plenty roomy. Where the laptop is stowed, next to your back, is basically double padded, which adds a layer of not only comfort but protection for your electronics gear with triple layer foam shields. (They call it Swiss Guard computer protection.) I have a HP 15.6" laptop and there is more than enough room for it. There is an additional sleeved pocket inside the computer pouch area where papers could even be placed.
The main pouch has ample room for almost whatever you want to bring along and within this are two additional smaller pcokets. The outer pouch is also good size with a zipper pocket inside that, along with several smaller pockets for pens, business cards, or what have you. There are two side mesh pockets good for Maglites, cleaning cloths, and other smaller items that need quick access. At the top of the pack is what Wenger calls the easy access quick pocket, which is zippered. Here can go a cell/smart phone, iPod, keys, small point and shoot cameras. This is a great feature for stashing metal items when going through airport security.
The back pack is well-balanced. I have not had any problems with it toppling over. The shoulder straps provide good comfort, even when worn for a fairly long time period. If you decide to carry the pack by the top handle it provides good comfort and grip.
To top it all off, the backpack comes with Wenger's limited lifetime warranty. That makes it hard to beat.

My son is a Sophomore in high school, and never uses his locker. He needed a backpack that was durable and expanded to hold everything he carries every day. Usually laptop backpacks have the laptop area that is firm and slim, and can only be used for a laptop. This one really expands and is much softer for carrying all day. The very front pocket expands out to hold his lunch box. It has a small zippered pocket on the top for his house key and some pencils. The straps are very comfortable and padded. This is by far the nicest backpack we have bought for school.For starters, I received this package a day prior to the expected ship date. The back of the backpack is sturdy; the pocket that holds the laptop is well padded and protected from the other big pocket by another sturdy divider. The padding on the straps and back is very comfortable. All in all, the backpack looked very well constructed and had a nice, sleek look.
