This is a classic design that has had no need for improvements for 50 some years. I have used mine for just about everything. The best thing that this bag is for is day trip with the large main pocket, I can store my lunch, change of T-Shirt, spare socks and first aid pack. The three front pockets are easy nice to store bars, compass and GPS. All in all this is a good pack not too big and not too small where it would be useless.
