this is a large size backpack. Great big picture. The birthday girl loved it. The quality is great. And i would always buy it again.

so this was not a $50 backpack and it doesn't look or feel like one, and that is ok. Our kids don't like things like this for long enough to spend any more than this & it serves the purpose just fine. It's a little large for a kindergartner, but it does fit all she needs. Also, by the time she outgrows her love of this backpack, it will be falling apart and time to replace with another one. I wish she would want a cool northface backpack or something, but she just wants princess, princess, princess. For some things, you just have to cave.
