Dakine Large Campus Pack

Very well made. Durable. Great color. I like: The depth. I am 57. I don't own a car and I bike, walk and bus everywhere. A pack is a permanent part of my wardrobe. This is deep enough to hold tall grocery items and wide enough as well. It's tough enough to handle fairly heavy loads. It has enough pockets to help me stay organized with bus schedules, books, and personal items I carry. Overall Love this pack. My Dislikes: wish the insulated pocket was a little deeper to hold a full lunch. My water bottle and coffee container get pushed out occasionally if I sit down and the pack hits a chair arm or something similar. Would like rings or something I can hook on a carabiner to prevent that from happening. I would also like quick release fasteners on the bottom of the shoulder straps to mke it easier to remove the pack especially when I have a heavy load. But keep in mind, this is a great pack.

the product was shipped quickly and arrived within a week of ordering. The pack is very roomy, and sturdy. It has an inside sleeve for a laptop and it keeps the laptop protected well during travel. Has mesh pockets on the side that work great for a water bottle. The only thing I wish it has was a zip pocket on the side of the bag for my laptop cord. Other then that, it's a great bag and I recommend it if you're looking for a laptop backpack!

I have now purchased several Dakine backpacks, and these things are virtually indestructible. All are made with tough 600 denier nylon, extremely well-sewn seams, and are designed to be as user-friendly as possible. (I don't drive a car, therefore, I bike or walk everywhere, including to the grocery store. The two Dakine packs that I have used for more than a year to haul everything from groceries to books are still in pristine condition.) My two sons' backpacks (not Dakine) were literally falling apart, and so I bought them each a new Dakine backpack. One was the "small campus" version, the other was the "large campus" version. The large one I bought for my son with the 17 inch laptop. The laptop measures 16.5 x 11 inches. It fits perfectly in case anyone needs to know that. (The descriptions of these packs usually only specify that 14" or 15" laptops will fit.) However, FYI, a 17 inch laptop does NOT fit into the Small Campus pack.

What I have found to be especially useful is to "waterproof" these bags when they're new. (I have found that "Kiwi's Camp Dry Fabric Protector" works very well, and does not change the pack's color.) Not only does it keep the packs dry but it also keeps them clean!! Dirt seems to fall right off of them. I also make sure I waterproof the shoulder straps as well, as these get handled the most. Great backpack. Highly recommended.

this bag so far has held up well to the mass amounts off books i carry in college and i enjoy the cooler in the front pouch that allows me to have drinks cold from a ggas station rather then paying the ridiculous prices at the college for drinks

I bought this backpack my first week of Freshman year in college. I needed a strong, sturdy backpack that also looked classy. This backpack is GREAT for students. I attend a university with a large campus, lug my backpack around everywhere from biking around campus to using it as a weekender bag to go home. After a full year of abuse, it still looks good as new and I still get compliments on it.
