But then again I have an Asus Republic of Gamers G53JW-XA1 and that's alot of weight to carry in almost any laptop bag. One other thing to note is that this bag enough to fit a 17 inch laptop. A regular 15 inch laptop fits and has alot of space at the top of the Laptop compartment whilst my Asus ROG G53JW-XA1 fits snuggly into the laptop compartment.
I personally fit my Asus, my Iomega 2TB external hard drive, a 500GB 2.5inch portable hard drive and alot of other stuff into this backpack.
The backpack "rain coat" is neatly hidden away at the bottom of the backpack in a velcro pocket. I don't use the cellphone holder or the 2 bottle holders, but the both seem good and sturdy.
In the main compartment there is a small pocket that I usually keep my Iomega and the portable hard drive. This pocket is located on the "door" for the hidden laptop compartment which is held by velcro. The front compartment is large and has space for alot of things and separate pockets for your pencils, pens and flash drives. There is also another pocket on the outer flap where you can keep other things, I usually keep my wallet there. And there is a small pocket at the front in which you can keep your iPod or other easily scratched electronics or items since it's made of soft material like microfibres.
All in all, I believe that this is a great laptop backpack except for the stitching on the straps which should have been done with stronger threads or catgut or something else that would allow you to support alot more weight such as two laptops which can easily fit in this backpack.
I'd easily recommend this backpack for anyone who is going to use it for the transport of any laptop, just ensure that you only put one in there, or be very careful when transporting more than one when wearing the backpack.
Also to note, backpack looks exactly as seen in images and delivery time was very short.
Another great item from Amazon :)

I am a college student who has been using this bag at least 5 days a week for the past 4 months. This backpack is great and is holding up perfectly. The STM Medium Revolution Backpack is ideal for walking long distances with a heavy load, carrying a laptop or iPad, books and notebooks, and even has a front storage pouch for pens, and other smaller accessories like chargers.
Not only is it comfortable, but its large pocket can fit as many as 5 Five-Subject Notebooks along with a laptop, WHILE it still has room in the smaller front pouch for miscellaneous items like calendars, small notepads, pencils, and headphones. The shoulder pads are great, although you do have to break them in a bit, and the padding for your back is the best I've ever seen on a backpack. The two side pouches are great since they let me keep my water bottle and umbrella in a place that is very accessible. One feature that is especially nice is the BUILT-IN RAIN COVER which can be pulled over the entire backpack to protect your valuables if you are caught in the rain (it works really well).
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SMALL BACKPACK, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. This backpack is large, but is perfect if you need to carry large loads.
I had never heard of STM before buying this backpack, but will likely buy another STM backpack when my new STM Medium Revolution kicks the bucket. If this specific bag is not for you, I recommend looking at other products from STM...I hope this helped!

Very nice bag. I first looked at these in a store. I preferred the small size than medium, but with a 15" screen you really need a medium. I wish there was a way to have the small fit a larger screen, but I think because of the amount of padding and the elastic enclosure its pretty much a no-go.So I went for the medium. I have been very pleased. The only thing missing is more pockets internally. They could have done a better job with say, a pocket for the AC adapter. You really only have 3 pockets other than the laptop pocket. The outside pocket (felt lined, small). The front pocket, which then has the pen holders and such. And an elastic pocket inside of the front pocket. The zipper pocket on the inside of the front pocket is almost useless because anything you put in there becomes a bulge that makes the pen holders and the rest worthless. So yeah, more pockets STM. More organization through more pockets.
But don't get me wrong, it's a really really great bag. I'm just used to more pockets (coming from Targus and Swiss Army they have pockets out the yin-yang). Great bag, would recommend.

I purchased this backpack as my old messenger bag was starting to wear down my shoulder. It's perfect for carrying my MacBook Pro and books back and forth to school everyday. The laptop section is brilliant and fits my 15" laptop well. The pocket just outside it (I think intended for an iPad) makes a good space to store my coiled up powercord.I think some people have commented on the rather large size of the bag. I'm 5'2", and I have no problem with its size or the way that it sits on my back. However, I can see how some people might be off-put by its bulk. If you're looking for a solid backpack to haul all your many things around places, than I would highly recommend this. Oh, and the the rain cover that it comes with works well too.
