The book bag is a good size for children and a convenient way to store small toys and keepsakes or pj's for a trip. The Pokemon character is a favorite with my grandchildren.

Tumi Alpha Bravo Kessler Large Duffel

I get annoyed every time I try to pack this bag. I've owned it for 2+ years and have lugged it around the world. It's built well and looks great, but it's impossible to pack.

The bag is too tall and too narrow. Most weekenders you can lay folded shirts and slacks flat, but in this bag you can't do that since it's only 6 inches wide. The obvious answer would be to put them in vertically, but that doesn't work because the shoe compartments (with shoes in them) are smack in the middle of the bag, placed vertically. Most shoes are 3-4 inches wide, but the bag is only 6 inches wide. So a normal pair of your average dress shoes end up taking up the usable space. It's sort of like sleeping in the same bed as someone who insists on taking their half out of the middle. It pushes everything else to the edges.

I've for several Tumi bags and this is a great weekend bag. Plenty of space love the outside pockets. Easy use for carryon in overhead bin or under an airplane seat. For storage the bag lays flat.

I love this bag. I travel a lot, hence the reviewer name. This bag is fantastic. It can hold a weekend's worth of clothing. The side pockets are great for lingerie, stocking and accessories. The flat bottom of the bag allows me to back skirts, slack and shirt and not worry about them wrinkling. Light weight, sturdy and my go to bag.

Just picked this bag up a few weeks after purchasing the smaller alpha bravo laptop bag in green as well...Love the Green / Orange color combo which keeps a masculine look but edgy. Construction of bag as usual with TUMI is beyond satisfactory. Zipper on top is specifically durable which is a good thing. So far so good...my laptop bag of the same Tumi Alpha Bravo line is also equally amazing and durable. Had it since the day it was released last year.

It's worth the money.

I needed a comp bag which had enough space for 1-2 days clothes too. This bag is built well and has enough room for 2pr pants, 2 shirts, sox etc + my comp and files/AC pwr/misc too. I had a High Sierra backpack which didn't have a separate slot for my comp (nor was it sold as a comp bag) and while it is a sturdy bag the Toshiba is slightly larger and has extra compartments too! Military Inspired Stylish Backpack Canvas Day Pack Black

I like this bag, it's as described, with all canvas and brass-looking buckles for closure, and the top has a draw string to close it up snug. The inside is lined with water-resistent material, and has a zipper pouch that has quite a bit of room. I was hoping it would fit my 16" laptop, but it's rather snug when I have the sleeve on it. I don't think I would use it for my laptop. The straps are kind of short, and are "buckled" to how short or long you want them, but they are kind of short. I think I may end up tying them together to use as one strap. Don't think I would recommend this for a college student, if you have to carry around a laptop, but for high school it would work out. I may end up just carting my laptop around in its sleeve.

I've had trouble with the straps. I ended up sewing them together, and I'm hoping that will solve the problem, as the "buckles" they were adjusted with kept losing the strap and it would drop off my shoulder with my laptop inside!!

I am going to end up carrying my laptop in its sleeve, but the backpack itself is pretty nice. It does fit my 16" laptop, but I'm worried about the straps slipping again. I can fit all of my school stuff binders, spiral notebooks, and extendable folder. I'm probably not going to put my books in it again, with the straps. I suppose I could tie them in knots.

The backpack is cute, which is why I got it in the first place. That's the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. But other than that, it has been the worst quality backpack I've ever had. I wasn't expecting that due to the fact that it's canvas, and that is a very durable fabric

The straps started to fall apart only a week into owning it. The inside lining is falling apart. I literally sat down and re-sewed in every single seam in this backpack because the string is soooo weak. It's fallen apart on me randomly MULTIPLE times.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this backpack. And it was really sad, because I held off on buying a backpack else where because I found this one at a reasonable price and thought it would "last longer". I guess I know now not to buy anything that says "stylish" in the description title. *sigh* ): ):

I ordered three of these bags. Two for men and one for my nephew. My nephew loves his bag! Already has all of his fishing gear packed up inside.

The problem is it is too small for an adult man. It sits very high on the back and makes a 6 ft tall man look like it is his first day of preschool.

PowerTouch Learning System Backpack

The Power Touch case is useless. The description states that there is room to store 4 books, but there is no extra pouch for the books so how is that possible? We purchased this for my daughter so she would have a place to keep all of her Power Touch equipment together. I plan on returning it and purchasing the Leap Pad backpack instead. We already own one of those backpacks (for our Leap Pad) so I know there is plenty of room in it for our Power Touch unit, books, and cartridges.

This back pack isn't helpful at all because, it doesn't offer

any storage for other books and cartridges!

The backpack itself is very well made. It holds the Powertouch unit beautifully. However, it should not be advertised as a backpack that can hold the unit AND the books. It does have storage space, tiny pockets, sewn in the front under the top flap for 4 cartridges, but where do the books go? I can stick 4 books in to the same pouch for the unit but it is stuffed and scratches the outside of the unit. My son has over 10 books/cartridges for the unit so this backpack does not help with complete storage. I would still purchase this pack again though because it is great for protecting the main unit and easier for him to carry from room to room than just the unit itself. But, be prepared to arrange storage for the books/cartridges elsewhere.

This case is great, if you have a Power Touch you must get this. My 3 year old plays with the games then afterwards it doesn't just sit around "waiting" to get stepped on. He puts in back in the case, so it is safe and doesn't get broken. It has helped me out and definitly has made him feel like a "BIG" boy with this backpack and all of his games all nice and neat. I really don't know what everyone is talking about in the past reviews. My daughter has this backpack and it has saved the "life" of her PowerTouch reader several times. It is very well padded and bright colored so that we don't leave the system everywhere we go...which was a problem when we didn't have this backpack. It will hold 5 cartridges and a couple of the books....it is not for complete storage around the house. It is to carry a few books with you to the doctors office or to a meeting etc, just to keep the child busy for a while. I still recommend this product and to everyone.

I loaded this bag with about 30lbs of clothes and photography gear on a 2 week trip to the Philippines. It fit very well with and rested nicely on my hips with the help of the hip support.

The main compartment of this bag unzips completely which makes it easy to pack and utilize every inch of the bag. The outermost compartment unzips partially to allow more of pocket for things that need to be accessed quickly like a laptop or paperwork.

The zippers on the bag also have loops to put a lock in to keep it safe. I was able to loop all 4 zippers with one lock.

The shoulder straps fit very well and are padded nicely to insure good support on the shoulders. It's a very comfortable fit once properly fitted to your body.

I highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a bag that's very well designed for travel and is airline carry-on compliant.

I bought this for a recent conference to replace my old luggage. I was dead-set on not checking any bags. Between this bag and a small laptop bag, I was able to take enough clothing for a week-long conference, along with an extra pair of dress shoes, a pair of running shoes, and all my technology (iPad, laptop, chargers, mouse, cables, headphones, etc) and still stay within carry-on requirements.

The bag is convertible you can use it as a backpack, or zip-up the back straps and attach a shoulder strap to carry it like a gym bag, and it has big comfy handles on the top and side for carrying by hand. Very nice.

Filled to the brim and compressed using the handy internal and external straps, the bag easily fit within the carry-on dimensions on the United flight I had. I have no doubts it would fit within the carry-on requirements of most airlines based on my research. It might not fit well into the overhead bins on some smaller planes, but I was still able to carry it to the gate. If I hadn't filled it to capacity, I probably could have shoved it into the overhead bins on the small plane.

Overall this is a comfortable bag for the business traveler it doesn't look like a hiker/adventurer bag, and its features are definitely more travel-friendly. I also used it as my primary bag during the conference, and though it's not the most fashionable choice, it looks much more business-appropriate than most high-end backpacks. Considering the Osprey quality and no-strings lifetime warranty, it is value-priced in my opinion as well. I'm quite pleased.

I hate checking luggage, but airlines have gotten really tough about limiting the size of carry-on bags. So, when I planned a recent 3 week trip to Europe, I knew that my roll-on bag wasn't going to cut it. This backpack is perfectly sized to fit every major airline's limits.

Really well designed. Tough but lightweight. Lots of pockets, intelligently placed, with sturdy zippers that are protected by storm flaps. Two really sturdy padded handles that are not going to fail when you need them. Comfortable back straps that hide nicely when not in use.

I should mention that I am not some college student kicking around Europe. I'm a retired ex-lawyer who stays in real hotels and B&Bs. This is by far, the best travel luggage I have ever used.

I purchased this to avoid hand carrying on day hikes with my German Shepherd. It is perfect; fits everything I need for up to one day, including water, food, wallet, keys, glasses, dog treats, etc. It has 2 small side compartments that are easily accessible and these are my favorites. The daypack fits very comfortably due to the easy stap adjustments. I am 5 ft 9 in and of medium to thin build, however I don't think the chest strap and waist strap would adjust to fit a very robust person. The chest and waist straps make carrying easy, most of the time I don't even realize it is on. There is no movement of the pack that causes irritation. Quick snaps make for easy on and off. The only item I carry separately is my camera. The pack would fit a small camera, but I like to have mine more accessible. The color is darker than pictured, more of a burgendy, but still very pretty. The fabric feels very durable, haven't used it in rain yet, so I don't know how it fares in wet weather.

But this pack is hands down the best I have ever owned. I have a closet full of packs .. hiking, travel, work, gym .. liked some but never any enough to actually say it was a great buy. The great thing about this pack is it is all of those things in one. I can easily load it down and go on an overnight hike with gear, slipping a camelbak bladder into the laptop sleeve or replace with the laptop and some clothes and all the other crap you travel or go to work with. I used this for a white 64GB HP touchpad which I wanted to use Naked. The case fits snugly. I just remove when need to use to Touchpad if you need to show off the shiny back. I typically tend to use phones naked, and occasionally tablets. Since I carry my main black Touchpad on trains/commutes I have the HP TouchPad Custom Fit Case.

This slipcase is awesome if you primarily use the Touchpad at one location, and not use on the road/train etc. You don't want a fall of the naked touchpad on roads...

Lassig Gold Label Shoulder Bag

This is an incredibly spacious bag. It has really useful inside pockets in a removable organizer and two side zipper pockets. The removable organizer even has an insulated bottle compartment that zips closed, as well as a "wet" pocket that also zips closed and keeps wet items away from the rest of the bag. The bag sits up when you put it down really well -mostly because the bottom of the bag is a zipper compartment that holds a matching portable changing pad (the folded changing pad adds some structure to the bag when it's zipped in). It also comes with stroller straps that allow you to attach the bag to any stroller. And my favorite feature... this bag converts from a shoulder bag to a messenger bag.

My only complaint and the only reason I'm giving this bag 4 stars instead of 5 is that the closure on the bag is not as secure as I'd like. The bag has the equivalent of a tie/string closure. This means that the contents of the bag are mostly accessible when the bag is closed. I tested the bag several times by filling it up, closing the string closure, and knocking the bag off the bed/couch/table, to make sure the contents wouldn't spill everywhere. The bag did pass my test, but I still wish it had a zipper. I may look into adding one myself, though I understand why the manufacturer did not add a zipper... the bag is reversible, making a zipper closure complicated if you'd like to use both sides.

Still, a wonderful bag: great size, great internal organization, particularly the insulated zipper pocket, and zipper "wet" pocket. Considering it's size and features, it's also really reasonably priced.

From the picture it is very nice, and I liked it a lot. But once it arrived I was disappointed immensely, it was smaller than the picture led me to believe and small inside.

I was so excited to get this diaper bag. I was disappointed with it when I got it. I am not a fan of the material it is made of. It is stiff and really thick. The two top pockets are difficult to unzip. The pockets are very deep which is nice but the opening is quite small. It also has a separate bag that contains all the pockets. I really liked this idea but when I was trying to put my wipes, diapers and everything into the pockets I noticed they were too small. Also, once I put a few items in the pockets there wasn't much room for anything in the middle compartment. I wish it wasn't reversible and they had built all the compartments into the main bag. I think they would have been big enough then and there would have been room for everything. I was also disappointed with the color. I expected a more creamy tan and it is actually more khaki-green colored. Not a fan. I am so sad and still looking for a good diaper bag with lots of pockets and room for everything but still stylish.

The Brenthaven Expandable Trek backpack seemed like a great backpack when I first got it: it has a nice padded computer sleeve built in for my MacBook; it has a nice expandable compartment that can hold my camera, a few books, and a lunch; it has all kinds of useful little pockets and features.

Until the zipper went out for the main compartment I would have rated it 4 or 5 stars for sure. But since the zipper went out its now nothing but a useless dud, so thus the 1-star rating. Bummer. And that was after very little use.

I contacted Brenthaven about having it repaired, and they've provided me a return authorization #, and asked me to ship the bag to them for repairs. Ok, I will, but it is an inconvenince, it costs money, and it takes time to get it fixed. It is something that should have never happened in what is billed as a quality product. After all, my Rick Steves cheapo backpack has gone through years of hard use with nary a problem, and it was only $15. Sigh.

UPDATE: I just received back 'my' backpack from Brenthaven, and I have to say that their customer service was superb. Not only was their turn-around time incredibly quick, they actually 'repaired' my bag by replacing it with the latest model. I'm impressed. I also noticed that the new version has much more rugged zippers, as well as a few new additional features. Way to go Brenthaven! Although the Amazon rating system doesn't allow for it, if I could I'd raise my rating to 4-stars based on Brenthaven's customer service(not 5-stars because I believe it shouldn't have failed to begin with).

I purchased this bag as a replacement to the Swiss Gear Laptop backpack which I had for 7 years or so. The old Swiss Gear had plenty of space and was very functional and when loaded up wore, well on my shoulders. I searched for a new bag for several weeks, checking pics, reading reviews, and shopping in brick and mortar stores as well as online with ebags, Amazon and company websites.

What I carry:

I typically travel with 1 to 2 laptops, power units, Ipod, Ipod charger, Ipod battery backup, Headset (over the ear) cell phone & charger, work files, a book or two to read and one or two magazines, Foreign Affairs or Dwell, etc...I usually have a small bottle of advil and cough drops handy, also business cards, and pens, glasses, sunglasses, and small calculator. Lately, i have been bringing a small hard drive, and all the additional cables you may want to use with a laptop, (USB, firewire, etc...).

Bag review: The total bag construction is solid, and lighter than my old Swiss Gear. The bag has a main compartment, small fleece lined pocket, second expandable compartment, outside back lower compartment, 2 vertical zipper pockets (small), two outside zipper pockets on either side of the bag, and a small Ipod pocket on the top neckside of the bag.

Main compartment storage-> There are plenty of pockets to store all the little stuff in the main compartment but I wish the small compartments were mesh, so you could see everything, and also had a velcro closer so things do not spill out when the bag is thrown around in an airline cabin. This is also where you would store small files and books. The main compartment zipper opening is adequate, but the opening could be larger. The laptop protection sleeve is here and is superior to the Swiss Gear.

The small fleece lined zippered pocket is adequate but the real advantage here is the quick access. I wish it was 10% to 20% bigger. The second deep compartment is expandable. I use it for magazines, glass cases, small books, etc...It is useful and has good zipper access. The outside back lower compartment is where all your pens, calculator, cough drops, house keys, garage door remote ( i never leave mine in the car at the airport), business cards, and other small stuff go. I have adapted to using this very well and so will anyone.

There two vertical zippers pockets on either side of the lower back compartment and i have found useful for segmenting the Ipod cables and computer cables i always carry. The two left and right outside zipperd pockets are just large enough for the two computer power units. The two mesh water bottles on each of these are worthless and Brenthaven needs to re-design these. The small Ipod pocket on the top inside ( up by your neck area, where your back meets the pack) is a nice addition and you can run the small ear buds directly out of it to your ears while you hike or walk with the bag ( i do not use it but it is a nice feature for some).

I really like the way this pack wears on my shoulders and back. It has excellent ergonomics and is very comfortable when loaded down. I am 6' 1", 187lbs and simply do not feel sore after wearing this bag loaded down for some time. Overall this is a solid performing bag and hope to get years of use from it. The titanium and black color combination looks good too, it is a cross between business casual and urban survival.

This is the second Brenthaven Trek backpack I purchased. The first was for my personal Mac Book. When it came time to purchase one for my work laptop it just seemed logical. It has storage galore. Plenty of little pockets for storing flash drives, mice, accessories and power supplies. In fact, when going on vacation I pack both my work and personal computer in one bag. There is plenty of room for both PLUS everything else and it fits nicely on the plane under the seat.

This is an excellent backpack--it is very sturdy and well-built. I carry a huge book load to and from medical school and this backpack easily handles the 50+ pounds. The computer storage is safe and well-padded. The shoulder straps are very sturdy and very comfortable even with heavy weights. Zippers are all high quality. I would strongly recommend this backpack over pretty much anything I have ever had/seen before.

I use this BP everyday in the field doing maintenance on wireless cell sites which includes working on Catalina Island.

The need for a BP that was:

Strong enough to hold all my items

Plenty of extra pockets for small test eq. items, misc. hand tools

Dependable top handle to use for hoisting the bag up ladders etc.

So far I have had great success with this BP.

Items for concern are:

Too small of an opening for the front pocket. Needs to have a larger diameter.

Top pouch to be a little deeper.

Side mesh pockets to be taller and more flexible but still have a firm grip on water bottels, meters etc.

This backback was an inch smaller in all stated dimensions, making it too small for my use. The leather is thin but soft. It looks like it is made OK. The price is low enough that sending it back if you do not like it is not worth it, as you loose the cost of shipping both ways.

JanSport Wavelength Laptop Backpack

I'm 71 and was looking for an inexpensive backpack to carry my laptop and all the stuff I need during a day, including a book or two, some work clothes, wallet, etc. This very basic pack, though I expect it won't last forever with the load I put in it, is entirely satisfactory. Not much structure to it, but it serves me very well.
