5.11.56997 All Hazards Prime Bag

5.11 All Hazards Prime Bkpk BlkGreat bag! If you like to keep things in a certain place this is the bag for you. Using the webbing on the inside works perfect for my needs. I have tried numerous bags and this seems to be the best I've found in an every day bag.

Not to big, but gives you enough room for a couple of days if you needed it. It has enough room for 3 days easy but the compression straps make it small when you don't need the space.

The front stuff space works perfect for those days when it rains then stops and rains then stops and so on and so on and you want to stow your rain jacket.

The admin pocket is large you can carry to much stuff you don't need.

The sleeves covered with MOLLE on both sides accommodate the ESSE Junglas perfect and most all fixed blade knives would fit just fine there. They will also fit on the MOLLE inside.

The shoulder straps are comfortable and they do not slip off your shoulder when carrying one strap style like the kids. The material 5.11 used for them is nice and stable on your shoulder. The material lets air circulate on the shoulder as well as the back, minimizing that sweaty pattern on your shirt the girls love.

The orange interior panels are brighter than they look in the Internet photos I've seen and would definitely aid in being seen if lost and in need of rescue. The color also helps silhouette what you have attached to the MOLLE.

It comes with attachment points for a hip belt. When I received the bag I realized these point will fit up to a 1 3/4" web belt, really cool.

Quality from a quality company. This is my first review. I've bought at least 100 items on Amazon and this one made me want to do a review.

I'm going to try and post a pic with comments. For some reason I cant attach it to this review.

It's constructed well and built to last. It has plenty of space and pockets and molle straps on most of the surfaces. It would be nice if the description listed what size of laptop the padded pocket was designed for. I have a 17" and it barely fits in the large back pocket (not the padded, I had to use some padding material from the packing the computer came in to protect it). I assume the padded pocket would hold up to a 15.6" laptop without problem.

I was unsure whether I should buy either one or the other backpack. My first attempt was to get the Rush 72, but it was too big for a daily basis use. Therefore these other two backpacks seem to have a regular size, which I would be able to carry with me everyday. The All Hazards is more expensive, I bought it in $160 while the Rush 24 was about $110 (both in black). The reasons why I chose the first one over the other were several. The All Hazards have a laptop + tablet compartment, where I can fit my 13" laptop and my minitablet, but you could perfectly fit a bigger tablet and a 15" laptop, not sure about bigger laptops, but it might work. Another reason is that this backpack unlike the Rush 24 has the "expandable" space between the main and front compartments, which you can have also on the Rush 72. Also the handle on the top from this backpack is more comfortable. The mesh compartment on the front main compartment was a plus for me because you can have all sort of arrangements. The only two things that I liked better from the 24, were that it had more pockets on the front compartment, and that it had a small top from compartment, but I fixed this by buying a pouch and attaching it to the Hazards.

The overall quality of the product is superb, just as any of the other 511 products, it seems that this backpacks can last for years. I have mine already for 2 months only, but I have no complaints so far.

Just in case you want to see more pictures of this backpack, go to the 5.11 website and there are some nice pics and vids, beware that the version of the backpack sold here, doesn't include the two "med/ammo/misc" pouches.

I served 9 years in the Army and am familiar with many different bag types and manufacturers. 5.11 is a great company that many people use. I know Soldiers and Law Enforcement Professionals that own many of the items they make and have used them overseas in austere conditions. Since my exit of service I landed a job doing AV/IT work and I use this bag as a tool bag and I am highly confident that this bag will be the last one I buy for many years.

PROS:

I use it everyday and I really am thrilled with all of the molle attachments inside. I use them to hold wire cutters and crimpers that I use regularly for my job. It also holds both a Mac laptop and PC laptop which I use daily to test equipment. I commute a lot and it keeps all of my stuff in one spot. I also really dig the pouch on the front, I put replacement parts in there when I pull them from our logistic points. This bag works perfect for what I use it for.

Cons: Opening and closing the bag isn't really a chore, but there is an extra step with the clips on the side. This is me digging for a con, when I say this.

Over all I would definitely buy this bag again and recommend it to others.

I have a bag issue. Dozens of them later and I think this is the one I've been looking for. Built like a tank, holds a large 15" laptop very well, loads of storage space, doesn't scream "mug me I'm carrying $3,000 in geek gear". Highly recommend this bag for a dude who walks around day and and day out with all their stuff.
