Got my new bag yesterday. I wanted a bag that was big enough to function as a purse as well as something that I could carry my iPad, iPod Touch, camera, mini video camera and all my other gadgets in. This bag fits the bill! It is spacious and feels well made. The only downside would be the straps. I wish they were either slightly longer, like two to three inches or wish they were adjustable. I like to carry a bag on my shoulder and while it is possible to do that with this bag, it would be easier and more comfortable if the straps were adjustable or slightly longer. Otherwise great bag and perfect for any gadget lover!

Briggs & Riley Luggage Compact Byte Brief

I spent a lot of time carefully searching for a professional-looking, well-constructed, light-weight, black nylon briefcase/laptop bag for my 13" laptop, and when I came upon this item, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. I had also looked at bags from Tumi, but most of their bags were in the $350-$500 range, and despite being more expensive, were heavier at least 1.5 lb heavier and not as sleek as this item. I had also previously reviewed a 13" bag from RooCase, which is much less expensive (~$30) which I liked for the price. However, this bag looks far nicer, has a lifetime warranty, and I think it was time for the upgrade, given an upcoming job change. I had also looked at bags from a variety of sellers, including eBags, Victorinox, etc; none of them were as sleek, light weight and well constructed and professional appearing as this bag.

1. Briggs and Riley is one of only a few luggage makers that offers a lifetime warranties on everything they make. It goes without saying, all of their products are extremely well designed & thought out, made of durable materials that are carefully put together. If there's every a problem, they will fix or repair it for free. I have one other B&R product that has served me extremely well and looks/works as good now as when it was first purchased.

2. Aside from holding a 13" laptop (fits my macbook 13" perfectly), it has a separately zippered compartment to hold an ipad + papers. If you do not need the second pocket to hold additional papers (ie, you only need a bag that will hold a laptop + smaller front pocket, B&R makes a Speedy Mini Brief, which is slimmer/lighter, but I find that its nice to have the extra space)

3. It has a strap on the backside that allows you to hook the briefcase onto the handle of your rolling luggage. There is also a separate detachable and adjustable shoulder strap.

4. This thing OOZES quality-it's made of abrasion resistant nylon and the self-repairing zippers that open and close very easily. It's very comfortable to the touch, and looks like it will last a very long time. I've gotten several compliments on it.

5. The front pocket has an area that holds 3 pens, a USB stick, key chain, cell phone, business cards, etc. The bag has a unique serial number (like many Tumi bags), and you can register the item at B&R's website; that way if its ever lost, the owner can be identified.

6. The interior of this bag is orange; this makes it obvious when the bag is open, reminding you to close it.

7. There are orange accents on the zipper, and a small portion of the stitching on the front and side is orange as well; I dont find it distracting.

8.The straps are held together by two magnets inside a padded foam wrap; the magnets snaps together and the foam handle VERY comfortable to hold for extended periods of time with two hands.

9. There is an additional slim pocket that is zippered from the top of the bag, about 4 inches long, and another that runs along the front pocket; I dont have any use for them, but they dont get in the way.

10. If there are any problems that arise I will update this review as needed.

If you are looking for a genuinely light laptop travel case, and you don't have a laptop larger then a think 14" 15", then this case is ideal. I use it for my 13" MacBook Pro. It is of the quality you expect from B&R, namely the highest, and it is astonishingly light. But if you are someone who packs a lot into a briefcase this is not the case for you. I used to, but I am glad that this case forces me to travel sensibly.

17 inch K-Cliffs Polyester School Backpack/ Outdoor Backpack/ Hiking Backpack with Reflective Strip

I needed a bag to use when riding my motorcycle. This bag was just what I was looking for. The refelcetive strip and the orange color add to the safety so motorist can see me. Also I am in the Army and on my post it is required for motorcyle riders to have a refelctive belt on the bag when riding. This in turn removed the need for me to have to use the belt with the reflective strip on it. Not to mention this bag is the perfect size and has many pockets. Great bag!!!!!!

These bags are well-made and the colors are awesome. The zipper is really well made and this is not cheaply made.

My son is rough with his backpacks and he swings his all over the place and I know he has thrown it a few times...The bag is as nice from when I brought it for him. Very Nice!!

I purchased this backpack to use for hiking and my outdoor activities. The fabric is very durable and I appreciated all of the pockets for my stuff. The padded shoulder straps were put to the test and really came through; I was able to walk comfortably for hours and enjoy my leisure time. My teenager got his hands on it and tried it out, and really liked it. The price is so affordable I will be able to get one for him too. Love the color selection. I purchased this backpack because of the reflective strip on the back. I decided on the black backpack, but the so called "reflective strip" was not reflective at all. I tested the reflective strip by placing the backpack in one of my bedrooms, no lights on, almost completely blacked out, and shined a flashlight on it with the results showing no hint of reflective properties on this backpack at all. Otherwise the backpack seems to be of quality material and has a good amount of compartments available throughout. I am still disappointed at the strip not being reflective because I am going to use it for my rides on my motorcycle. I resorted to having a reflective belt being wrapped around the backpack for easier visibility for other motorists on the road.

-In short, good quality material, plenty of spacious compartments, but no reflective strip. This was misleading during my decision to purchase it.

I have just purchased a second one of these (jumbo model) from Amazon; I've owned another one for 10 years. These are really well made, bullet proof bags that will keep all your stuff dry unless you submerge the entire bag in water.

These bags don't have a stiff shape, so you can load them with tons of stuff. The seams are all completely watertight, and the only way water can get in is through the top zipper, which is protected by a large Velcro flap that covers the zipper, so even in driving rain, it stays dry inside. I have looked out the window of an airplane and seen my bag sitting in the rain on the tarmac, and I know my clothes will be dry when I get to the luggage carousel.

There are no dividers, no pockets, no key loops of other gadgets inside; just a giant canyon of dry storage. The bottom isn't stiff either, so when you lift from the supplied shoulder strap, the bag will tend to fold or bend a little in the middle. I usually carry the bag with the handles so it's not an issue. I have loaded it with over 50# of stuff without a problem. It will carry heavy clothes, boots, camping gear etc.

After 10 years of use in airports, buses and boats, my old bag is still going strong. Highly recommended.

Although, I love the bag itself but I was so sad when only a week after being used I tugged on the handle and the plastic joiner snapped. Grrrr. I bought four carabiners to replace the flimsy plastic pieces.

Used this to carry my clothes on the front of my little tear drop trailer. It worked fine for the first 3 weeks of my trip, even in the rain! then....................the rain turned to rain and wind and while driving clothes in the top part of the bag, that were loose, got wet. Not a problem for me, then but I wouldn't trust it to fall in water and keep things dry. worked Ok for what I needed.

I got this bag in Green color and love it for several reasons. My old polyester Sack bag was falling apart after 3+ years of use and I wanted to get a replacement. I chose this Canvas bag because it is environmentally friendly.

The color of the bag is pleasant and the material is smooth. It can be rolled/folded for easy storage. The bag feels strong in use and the straps are adjustable too. I like the extra zippered pocket on the outside facing my back to keep small stuff like keys. The drawcord is little tight for the initial uses but I expect it to become smooth over time.

I have stuffed this bag with enough material and it still feels OK to wear it on the back. My main purpose of using this bag is to avoid getting plastic bags at grocery and retail stores for small purchases. I also take it everyday to my office where I carry my two bottles, hand gloves (winter time), snacks, etc. in the bag. I like the color choices available and would buy more if needed for myself or to gift it to somebody.

I highly recommend this bag for everyday use.

This is the perfect size for kids taking snacks to preschool! The size in just right for a child that size to carry himself as the strap is too short for an adult. It even has a see-through name tag on the top where it isn't immediatly visible out in public.

I was not happy with this lunch bag at all. The minute I opened the box I could see that it was made from cheap quality materials. And it was way smaller than I was expecting it to be. I could have lived with it as long as it did the jobbut it didn't. I had the bag 6 days and the zipper broke! This is good bag. It's large enough to carry several books, notebooks and your laptop. It's leather like look is also an awesome touch. I really wanted to like this bag. It was plenty big for my laptop and stuff I like to carry around. However, when the bag first arrived the smell was overpowering and made my whole house smell like fake leather chemicals. It was bad enough that my housemate left for 2 days to get away from it. It was a week before the smell left the bag enough to not worry about stinking up any room I carried it into.

After only 8 days of use, the zipper for the back pocket broke. Came off the bag completely and there were threads sticking out everywhere. I was able to put the zipper back on but not perfectly and was going to continue to use the bag without using the back pocket.

Then after 10 days of use, I look down to see that the "leather" covering the bottom connection of one of the straps was tearing away from the bag, exposing the connection beneath and that connection looked like it was going to rip apart at any moment. I use my backpack for my computer and that was the strap I use when only using one strap. If it were to break and the bag were to fall, I don't even want to think about the damage it could have done to my computer.

After 11 days, the bag is being returned. I recommend you do not buy this bag, and if this is an indication of the quality of bags made by this company, I'd steer clear.

It really is adorable but small. If you look closely, this backpack is 10 inches; some of the other smaller ones are 12. Not sure if the 2 inches makes that much of a difference. My son will still love this. Just too bad that I can't fit a coloring book into it. I really only bought it for him to carry a few toys anyway.

I bought this thinking I could use it for a diaper bag but it's very small (I didn't pay attention to measurements). My son will use it to carry toys around now. This sleeve is very pretty and fits my 15.6" Compaq perfectly. It's a little darker than the picture makes it seem, but still bright and vibrant. Everything seems well stitched and stood up to some tugging no problem. The handles and shoulder strap are nicely padded and comfortable. I like that the shoulder strap is removable and easily adjustable.

Please bear in mind that this is a sleeve, not a true 'bag'. There's not much room in the main compartment for anything other than your laptop. The additional front pocket provides plent of room for your charger and mouse, and maybe a couple other small things.

If you want to cart books or purse essentials, this isn't the right bag for you.

The picture on the website showed this bag a vibrant blue so I ordered the matching skin art decal. The Decal is beautiful and exactly as pictured. The bag goes from a faded light blue to purple then to black. Not nearly as pretty as pictured. It is a gift so I will let the recipient decide if she likes it. I also ordered a mouse in blue so that doesn't match either. I am not very pleased with this order. This company has the same bag at three different prices. That's a little strange. I've ordered quite a few Christmas gifts through Amazon this year. I hope the other items I ordered are better than this one or this will be my last order.

I was expecting the bag to be bigger. But it's just the right size if you just want a laptop bag and nothing more. Inside is a reasonably snug fit for my 15.6" laptop and there is a compartment at the front to hold the charger, and maybe a mouse but there will be some bulging.

I am using it for school so it would've been nice if some books could hold in as well, but like I said, if you're just looking for a bag, then this is a nice one.

It's thin and padded. The colours in the photo aren't as bright on the actually bag, but it is still pretty.

I use a backpack everyday , and this by far is the best I've ever used, I love the design and the pockets. Very durable , jansport did not disappoint me :). Comfortable, sleek, easy to use, plenty of space. I am a college student and use it to carry three textbooks my surface pro and a notebook along with calculator and other normal supplies. Its also difficult to find a backpack with a sling strap that can hold this much, have a water bottle holder, and still be under the well known name of Jansport! Seriously, i have three other jansport bags from my days in middle and high school. The only reason i had ever bought a new one after each is for a change of pace and look. Almost perfect carry on! Lightweight aprox 6 lbs. I got it in smoky quartz and it is a beautiful color. If you are planning to check in your luggage, get a darker color this one is on the lighter side. Very stylish, confortable and professional looking, plenty of pockets, one zippered pocket inside and two outside (one is the length of the bag and the other shorter with pockets inside which are really handy if you are not carrying a tote). Hidden pull out telescopic handle. Leather trim handles on top and side makes it easier to handle. No inside frame except for the bottom where the wheels are which makes it great to fiit in the overhead bins. The only one and major drawback I find with this bag is that it only has two wheels instead of four. When the airplane aisle is too narrow you can not turn the bag sideways because it will not roll you have to carry it. It does not give you the 360 motion of a four wheeled bag and the agility and speed to move around a crowded airport that a four wheeled gives you. I purchased the Tumi Voyageur Cortina Boarding tote to go along with this bag.

The major domestic airlines (Delta, American, United, etc.) only allow a maximum width of 14 inches and this 15".

Also, difficulty navigating the plane aisle 2 wheels. Unable to walk as fast pulling this and I had to keep switching arms because my shoulders/neck were getting tired.

I ended up purchasing a spinner, Lipault and it was much easier for me although I still would have preferred the Tumi with 4 wheels.

JanSport Elefunk Core Series Messenger

I've had this bag for a year now and it still impresses me with it's durability! I'm a student so I pack an incredible amount of books all over the city and any other bag would start to show wear from the load but this one is still good as new. Also the pockets are very handy. My only complaint is that the fabric tends to stain easily, but this could probably be avoided with some staingard.

I love this bag it is sturdy and holds a lot in a compact space. There is a padded inner compartment for your laptop with plenty of extra room for files or books. The fabric is good quality. I don't know why they call the color purple mash as you can see from the picture it is really quite pink. I also don't know why they call it a backpack when it is clearly a messenger bag. Other than these quibbles with the copy writer, I highly recommend this bag.

I'm a Junior in College, I've seen a lot of backpacks in my life time. I've had one that broke the first day of high school, ones that I had to sew back together and some that barely lasted through the school year.

So last year when my Mother asked me what I wanted for Christmas I told her I wanted a back pack. She and I went online searching for one with the best ratings that was a messenger bag and then I left it up to her to pick one. This is the one she picked-and can I just say: She couldn't have made a better choice!

This bag has lasted like a dream for an entire year of very heavy college wear. It has withstood over five textbooks at a time, plus a waterbottle on the side (love that!). The back has a nicely padded section that I deeply appreciate so I don't have my massive textbooks slapping me in the leg every time I walk. The shoulder guard on the arm of the bag is also very nice, spreading out the disgusting amount of weight I allow to be held in my bag over my shoulder so I don't get a highly attractive red mark on my shoulder like I've gotten from previous bags. The compartment for a laptop is nice, though I didn't have a lap top until recently, it served nicely for protecting my more fragile books-keeping them in a place all their own. It is very well organized and extremely durable. Though I've had it for a year it shows no sign of damage or wear (and I'm not exactly all that gentle with it). Jansport made this bag for a college student. It is capable to carry just about however much you need (and I carry a lot). You can slap it around, drop it, trip over it (no comment) and it'll still look great! I would reccomend this to anyone and EVERYONE who needs a bag for work, school or anything else.

I can easily fit my laptop as well as several books in this bag, but if I carry more than one textbook along with my laptop, it is painful to carry the bag. Regardless if I position the bag across my body or on just one shoulder, it does not seem to distribute weight well or offer sufficient support. If you don't have a lot to carry I would recommend this bag. Easy to organize the supplies that I need to carry with me.

Pretty much a perfect fit for the new ASUS Transformer Prime with the dock. The tablet alone fits inside, with a little wiggle room. With the dock is a snug fit.

I just got the new Transformer Prime with the keyboard dock. Needed some protection for it, thought I would try this since it's pretty cheap. After seeing some reviews for it I thought it would be too big, but it's an almost exact fit. It's a slight stretch to get the top flap over.

It fits a 10.1" inch netbook just fine. But getting the top flap over is slightly difficult because it's such a snug fit.

Someone mentioned it fits a 11.6 inch netbook. I tried it on my 11.6 inch Samsung netbook, it's too small for an 11.6".

It's much too big for an acer iconia tab 10.1 a500, and too big to fit a 7-9" netbook. But it fits an 11.6" acer netbook just perfect. This one was bought from Blue mall.

My ASUS netbook has a tough, high gloss, metallic red shell. Though immune to bumps and knocks, it is susceptible to scratches and gouges from loose stuff in my briefcase. This is the perfect cover to keep it looking smart. Bonus features are:

1. This reversible, red-on-black slip cover seems to be otherwise identical to the non-reversible, red-on-red version also sold here at more than twice the price.

2. The shape, size, texture, and resiliency of the cover makes it a perfect mousepad when the netbook is in use.
