Tenba Shootout 632-642 Convertible Photo Sling Bag Small (Silver/Black)

I bought this bag in black/olive color (632-641). Originally I didn't give it much thought and passed over it since I wanted a bag I could swing around to my waist and you wouldn't think a backpack style bag can do that. Appearances can be deceiving.

This bag is designed to swing around for access without having to take it off your shoulder. What appears to be a zipper pouch (in the Amazon photo of the product it's the zipper section on the lower left side of the bag) is actually a door that opens to the interior of the bag. The shoulder strap is designed to be worn over your right shoulder, down across your chest, and buckles to the bag on the lower left side. With this arrangement, if you swing the bag around to your front (without removing it from your shoulder or disconnecting the strap) the entire bag will NOW be positioned in front of you, sideways, and just above waist level. What's more, that zipper door on the 'lower left' side of the bag will now be on 'top' of the bag. This means you have access to your spare lenses, accessories, flash, etc. without actually needing to remove the bag. There is a second smaller strap that connects from the lower right corner of the bag and snaps to a buckle on the front of the shoulder strap this gives it more stability so it can't slide around if you're hiking. For occasional use it is not necessary to connect the second strap and there's a sleeve on the side of the bag to tuck in the strap when it's not being used (so you don't have a dangling strap).

The entire inside appears to be two compartments. One on the top of the bag (which has padded baffles to allow the camera and lens to rest face-down inside the bag), and a lower section with numerous adjustable dividers (velcro). The entire "floor" that separates the top from the bottom is also attached via velcro and can be adjusted to any height, allowing you to apportion space to the top section vs. the bottom section.

The full padded back of the bag (the part that would rest against your back) also zippers completely open. It zippers open down the left, bottom, and right sides of the bag.

Everything on the inside is adjustable. All baffles, dividers, and floor sections are connected using velcro and can be repositioned.

The right-side of the bag (not visible in the Amazon product picture) has a pair of adjustable straps intended to attach a small tripod or mono-pod. There is also a non-adjustable strap on the bottom of the bag which could be used to attach or hang an extra accessory.

Tenba "Shootout" series bags are designed for outdoor use with exposure to weather. The zippers are all designed to be fairly weather-tight. Every zipper has a vinyl seal so the teeth are not exposed when the zippers are closed. The bag is not "waterproof" but is "water-resistant" and would have no problem with medium rain or spray. The bag also comes with a rain slick which covers every side of the bag *except* the back-pad -this is suitable for protection if you're caught in more severe weather.

I think this bag has better quality than just about any of the other bags I looked at. I only gave it four stars (instead of 5) because some of the areas of this bag were just a little too small. My camera outfit includes a camera body with an 18-55mm zoom, a 55-250mm zoom, a 60mm macro lens, a dedicated flash, diffuser, a large battery shoe (mates to bottom of the DSLR), as well as some smaller items such as filters, remote shutter release, spare batteries & charger . Capacity-wise the bag is large enough. But organizationally, the whole point of the bag is to allow me to switch lenses, get to my flash, etc. without having to take the bag off my back. It took a while to find any arrangement of the adjustable compartments that would allow everything to fit in the bag, but I had to sacrifice accessibility and take the bag off my back in order to access what I needed. The dividers in the lower section seem designed with the assumption that you'll open the full back to get inside the bag. If positioned to allow access from the side door the dividers are a bit too tall and it was difficult to get various accessories in and out of the bag easily (it would have helped if the side door was a bit larger). If the camera (I used a Canon EOS Rebel T1i) is in the top section pointed down (which is how they intend for it to be stored) the floor dividing the upper and lower sections needed to be repositioned because the 18-55mm lens (which isn't particularly long) was too tall. Repositioning the floor took away so much space from the lower section that my gear really didn't fit anymore, and created a lot of wasted space in the top (of course this is a matter of how much gear you have -on the positive side you could fit a camera with a very very long lens inside the bag if you wanted.

I love the product construction quality (it's not flimsy) and the cleverness of the design, but I think the baffles & dividers need to be made for better accessibility from the side door (which is the whole point of the bag).

I think this bag would be ideal for someone with fewer accessories & lenses. Tenba makes a 'medium' size version of this same bag which I haven't tried yet, but I do plan to check it out and see if it works a little better.

I was expecting a bigger bag to fit my camera body and all the lenses but it wasn't big enough to fit all. Product does look much bigger in picture than in person. Overall, the quality and make of the bag is excellent. Wish it just had more space.

I like this design, but the price is far too high. I wouldn't mind that so much, if it reliably did the job I got it for, which is to hold a 50-50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and vinegar. But I quickly discovered that if I don't screw the cap on REALLY tight, using a firm double grip, it leaks. For my particular purpose (lavaging my ears with a Q-tip after I shower to ward off otherwise inevitable ear infections) I can't use the (otherwise excellently-designed) no-drip flip cap because it squeezes the Q-tip too dry.

Isopropyl/vinegar has a slightly lower viscosity than water, so it's a test of anything's leakproof-ness, but it's a test a bottle this expensive should pass.

Beautiful construction. I have the waxed canvas version. I use it just as an everyday commuter bag. Size wise it is probably around 25-30 litres.

The difference between this & the standard seems to be the leather on the front pocket, as well as leather shoulder straps & a leather bottom.

The only other thing to be aware of is that it has no frame. Seems obvious being a canvas rucksack but you need to pack it carefully to avoid sharp things poking your back.

That said, it is a great daypack & I hope it'll last forever.

Eagle Creek Travel Gear Undercover Hidden Pocket

I'll be honest, I just didn't want to wear a money belt during my travels to europe. I think they're stupid, albeit practical. This is a perfect alternative. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but there are two loops for hanging from your belt, one is black and other is brown (for different belt colors). For extra security, I always use both loops, since my shirt covers my belt anyway. The pocket hangs inside my pants along my hip. You can also position it to hang in front of one of your thighs, but I find this less comfortable. I use it to carry my passport, medical vaccination records, emergency cash (or excess cash, if you've just visited the ATM and don't want to have a lot of money in your standard wallet), and emergency credit cards. Basically, I only use my regular wallet for spending cash, my ATM card, and one credit card. If my wallet gets stolen I will still have identification, some cash, and at least one credit card.

So anyway, buy this if you don't like the idea of the money belt. I'm a fan of this product.

I already owned two types of money belt: the kind you wear with a tape around your waste under your pants, and the kind that looks like a normal belt you wear through your belt loops. But when my boss asked me to carry thousands of dollars in cash on a three-week trip to several countries in Asia, and not to leave the cash in hotel safes, neither would do--the one was just too uncomfortable or impractical for wearing all day, every day (I have a bit of a paunch, and these types of belts end up riding right under my belly), while the other just didn't have the capacity for so much cash.

This pouch easily accommodated my little stack of $100 bills, and had I wanted to I could have added my passport and some credit cards. I wore the pouch in the 4 o'clock position (on my right side and a bit to the rear) under my pants; one of the loops came up over my waistband, then folded down on the outside, where I slipped my belt through it to keep the pouch from falling down my pants leg. Even knowing the loop was there, I had a hard time seeing it in the mirror. There is one black loop and one brown loop; use the one that matches your belt, and let the other remain inside your pants. I wore this hidden pocket constantly for three weeks (we never ended up needing the cash), and I never even felt it at all except for those occasions I felt for it to make sure it was still there; it's that comfortable.

I did not wear this through security in the USA, with their fancy imaging devices that have picked up my handkerchief in the past, but I did wear this through every other security screening I encountered at a variety of Asian airports. No matter whether I was screened by machine or frisked by hand, this pocket was never discovered at any of the checkpoints. In spite of the fact that the zipper seems metallic, I walked through metal detectors and detector wands passed over me that did not alert on the hidden pocket. Upon my return to the USA after three weeks of constant use, my hidden pocket shows no signs of wear other than a few creases.

I would second the advice given in these reviews not to plan on accessing the contents of the pouch in public. I carried a smaller amount of cash in my wallet if I thought I'd use any. In the USA, I kept this pocket in my carry-on bag until I went through screening, then went into a restroom and locked myself in a toilet stall to put it on. The "narrow range of problems" for which I recommend this hidden pocket are those times when you need to discreetly carry a modest amount of currency (the legal amount of US dollars in $100 bills should be fine) or documents (e.g. passports or papers folded into a similar size) that you will not be accessing in public view.

We bought two of these for a trip to Barcelona (a notorious pick-pocket city). They are a very nice solution; easy to use and safe. However, on the first day the loop on one of them started to pull out of the seam. By day 10, both loops had completely shredded and disconnected from the bag. The seam didn't fail, it was the loops that fell apart. The other bag had no problems and made it through the whole trip just fine.

I've used the Eagle Creek Hidden pocket for 10+ years to travel internationally. I find it superior in accessibility and relative seclusion.

I purchased a new hidden pocket a few weeks ago to bring to India. After only about 4 days of use, I was traveling to the train station where I was about to take a 36 hour trip. I traveled with a seemingly identical Eagle Creek money pouch for a decade. It was perfect. The zipper finally gave out last year while traveling in Honduras. Given that I had cumulatively traveled roughly a year with it, I felt that it had served me well.

I purchased what I thought was the same product. Within 3 days the black strap had completely separated from the pouch. I then started using the tan strap and it immediately also began to separate from the pouch. Unacceptable!

A reliable money pouch is a very necessary piece of travel gear. This one is anything but reliable. The straps could have very easily ripped as I was walking down the street, leaving my passport, cards, and cash on the street in Quito. Needless to say, this would have been a bad situation.

In the past I have been happy with Eagle Creek travel products. But this failure is so egregious that I would be hesitant to purchase another one of their products.

HP 16 Inch Notebook Sleeve - Onyx

My husband and I were browsing the electronics section at Wal-Mart and there it was: The ACER ASPIRE TIMELINE (5810TZ model) for $600! Before buying my new baby a sleeve, I measured it. The 15.6"-sized screen model is approx 15"x10" -I wasn't worried about depth b/c the lap top is less than a inch thick. Later that night, I went on the internet to look for accessories on AMAZON... what an ordeal! It took me a good hour to find a sleeve that had comparable measurements. A large majority of the products are standard dimensions -when the dimensions were actually listed -and there's not much to chose from for wide screens. So, I kept finding 15"x12", 15.5"x12", 15.4"x12", 14.5"x11.1"... Notice the second measurement is never near 10"? So, then I looked up sleeves for 16" wide screens and the HP ONYX was one of the products. The dimensions were not listed, but it looked about right and is advertized as being able to house up to 16" screens... So, I did a GOOGLE search to find its dimensions (14.9"x10.1"x1.7"). Bingo!

I was surprised at how fast it was delivered. I ordered it late at night on the 31st and it was at my door on the 2nd! So, COMPUTER BRAIN definitely provides speedy service! I was a little disappointed about the shipping fees, though. The sleeve only weighs 11.5 oz and it cost over $7.00 for it to go from KY to CA!

As far as how it fits... it's like a glove! It's as if it was made specially for my laptop! The only complaint I have is that it has a very strong rubbery odor (it's neoprene) for the first several days. Airing it out is definitely recommended! LOL

I would recommend this product to anyone with a 15-16" wide screen (measured diagonally). And remember: MEASURE YOUR LAP TOP BEFORE YOU BUY! (Otherwise, it'll either be too tight or too baggy!)

UPDATE (Jan/2012): Well, I have had this sleeve for about 2.5 years now, and I am happy to report that it is still in great shape! The zippers still glide smoothly and the neoprene material has held up well (no tears, thinning, or stitching coming loose). I will say, tho, that it does tend to attract pet hair -dog hair in particular. But, that's not anything a little shipping tape or a lint brush can't peel off! The case is now at a GREAT price! Wow! So jealous I didn't get it for just $15.99 with my Prime Shipping! (I paid close to $25 back in 2009!) I'm also happy to say that my laptop is still in great condition! I will definitely be buying another slim Acer Aspire Timeline when it comes time to retire my current laptop! Six to eight hours of battery life? Yes, please!

This is the first time I've bought one of these sleeves I always used a bag or case before with more storage and padding. But, if all you want to do is protect the laptop from minor scrapes and scratches and keep off the dust, this does the trick. However, if you want to go through airports with it, you might want to consider something with more padding for greater protection. For what it is, it's well made with a good zipper and storage pouch on the front.

This is the most wonderful backpack! It was absolutely wonderful, so many pockets and adjustable straps. The best part of the backpack is that adjusting straps help distribute the weight so that it's not all coming down on your shoulders like teens in school seem to like. I got a women's medium which was possibly a little big, as I had to pull down all the straps to fit right. Now, the only problem I had was trying to get the backpack on... it wasn't terribly difficult. However, it wasn't easy but that may be due to swinging a heavy backpack with all the straps tightened down so much. That said, the hip straps and chest straps keeps the pack close to the body so it feels lighter. Also, the aluminum frame and cushioned pads makes it comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time. It is worth every penny.

I needed a new bag with the four wheels that you can push easily. Bingo, it has worked perfectly for several trips. The color is just as pictured a vivid light turquoise blue, even my 10 and 5 year old grand daughters took notice. It is not very big, however it works nicely for enough clothes for three days. The two outside compartments are handy. It has some waterproof pockets inside. Most of all it pushes easily! That's why most of of have made the switch. I have a bad back and travel frequently so this little overhead size works perfectly.

This is a cute backpack, however very small in size. It would have been nice if the description toddler or mini backpack were used in the title of this item. It is enough room for a toddler to take a few of his belongings somewhere. Probably could be used for Pre-k, a normall sized notebook wouldn't fit so I wouldn't recommend for serious use a backpack for school. I got this for my one year old so that I could wear it as a diaper bag. Its good for a short trip for a few hours not a full days outting.

High Sierra 30-Inch Wheeled Cargo Duffel Cargo Duffel

I bought a similar High Sierra rolling bag two years ago. I travel with it at least once per week and it held up pretty good for those two years, but the wheels finally wore out. But I thought it held up good enough so I bought this bag. I like it even better because it stands up and is slightly trapezoidal in shape. So far so good, but lets see if those wheels will last more than two years this time.

Based on blog reviews and amazon reviews I decided to purchase the sugar snap files to make my diaper bag much more easily accessible. Although the idea is great, I don't like how it was executed. I wish the bags were bigger, maybe all as big as the largest size. Also, the pictures are deceiving they make you think it'll look like a nice organized filing cabinet, but it doesn't look like that in real life. When the pockets actually contain stuff the tags don't show, and it just looks like a bundle of a bunch of zipper bags. I wish there were pictures of the bags filled so it could look more realistic.

So my wife purchased these file dividers for one of her many diaper bags. After one week one of the tab dividers broke off of the main ring. I immediately emailed Stacy and Tracy, the owners of the company??, and they emailed me back the same day apologizing for the quality of the product. I was shipped a new bag at no additional cost and everything has been just great.

I'm giving 5 stars due to the excellent level of customer service the company provided. I'm not using this product nearly as much as my wife, so I can't comment on easy of use/livability, I'm going to assume she's thrilled due to the smile on her face ever time she finds what she's looking for in her bag on the first try.

We love these so much we have two sets. We used to dig around our diaper bags hoping we had what we needed. Now, even my skeptical husband is in love with our files. Bought this as a gift for my wife for Christmas. Could not find as much info on it as it should have had. It would not charge a laptop, which was the deal breaker. Could have done her Nook and phone but being that it could not do all the devices it was not going to work. Her 17" work laptop would not fit in the backpack. Not pleased at all with the product so returned it.

I plan to travel with my tablet, both in the states and overseas. I was a bit apprehensive about the price of this backpack and wondered if the solar panel was really going to work. But after having used it, I can report that this is a great find. In fairness, the solar panel isn't big enough to charge a 10 inch tablet from empty to full in a single day, but it does charge cell phones and digital cameras with ease. There is plenty of room for a 10 inch tablet with accessories and room for a change of clothes and a towel. Great for traveling and outdoor adventures. I would buy again, in fact, the wife now wants one.
