This item could not have been better. It's slightly large for my 14" Toshiba but when I'm carrying it around offices, bldgs, it's perfect. Price could not be better!

I got this sleeve when I purchased the 14 inch Toshiba laptop and it has potected my laptop very well. I found it to be very durable and sturdy. It is well covered and the elastic bands hold it securely in place when it is snug inside the sleeve. I feel as if I am carrying a large college notebook or folder because that is how it looks when I hold it. I would definitely recommend this to a 14 inch laptop owner who does not want the flimsy zipper cases that just looks pretty.

This is a great sleeve to grab your laptop and go. It closes seamlessly through a tiny magnet on the cover. The sleeve's material provides enough protection for any 12-14 inch laptop. Not really padded at the corners and it does not have any foam insulation ... so it would not probably handle too much pressure very well.

The sleeve I received was not the one pictured in the photo. It has a crappy magnets holding together the sleeves. They hardly hold my laptop in the pocket. Also I have a 13 inch portege that is very thin and it barely fits in this 14 inch sleeve. Plus this thing is not the most visually appeasing sleeve... its ugly. Just go spend a couple extra bucks and get what you really want instead of settling.

Good points:

* The case unfolds to allow it to pass through an x-ray without removing the laptop.

* Well constructed. You can expect this case to survive years of abuse by even the most seasoned road warrior. The fabric is nice, pleasant to touch and water resistant.

* It has a trolley strap so you can place it on the handle of your roll-along bag.

* The laptop compartment is plush lined. It won't scratch or mark your laptop.

Bad points:

* The case splits in the middle. This means that the strap has to be offset which causes the bag to hang in an unbalanced way.

* The storage compartment is domed it is cut to bulge outward. This means that most of the internal pockets will not hold their contents they spill out into the main compartment.

These two bad points make for a quite poor bag. I would not recommend it.

This bag is light, convenient, practical and durable. I use it weekly when I travel. I carry my laptop, IPad, 2 cell phones, charger cords, papers and my bag of 3 oz personal items in the bag. It sits nicely on my carry on wheeled luggage. I never remove my laptop when going through security. I pull out the bag of 3 oz personal items, unzip the Belkin bag, lay it flat, scan, put personal items in bag then zip the laptop section up and go. It's a winner!

+ The main reason I bought this was to help through the airport. No problems with the TSA having to take my laptop out of this bag.

+ Has plenty of storage. I usually just carry the charger and a mouse.

-The shoulder strap is attached to the section the laptop is not in. In my case (and I suspect for most people) the laptop is the heaviest thing in the bag. So when I unzip the laptop for preparation to put on the X-Ray belt, the thing spreads apart. If the shoulder strap was moved to the section w/ the laptop I wouldn't have this problem. Of course doing so, may prevent the TSA from approving it.

-Wish it had more padding. Again, this may prevent TSA from approving it, so I can't take points off for that.

Targus C4 Backpack for Laptops up to 16-Inch TSB70905US(Green/Black)

I have been using Targus computer backpacks for years and am a big fan -Targus products in my experience show high quality in both design and build. This backpack is considerably smaller and lighter-duty than my favorite bag so far, the Targus CVR600 15.4" Groove Notebook Backpack.

The design is good and practical -basically an updated but stripped-down version of the CVR600. For example, instead of side pockets that zipper closed, there are net pockets only that are basically good for water bottles and the like. The material is lighter and the padding on the shoulder straps skimpier.

And that brings me to the issue that caused me to go back to the CVR600 after using this backpack for a month and a half. I was getting some very bad shoulder pain -or more precisely, with this bag my shoulder was not recovering from strain I put it under doing something else. In fact, the pain was just getting worse. After switching back to the CVR600, the pain has begun subsiding dramatically.

I am 6'3" and over 250 lbs, so unless you are a similar size I wouldn't worry much. The geometry of how this hangs on my back will probably be very different than yours. But if you are a big guy, this bag *could* mean some physical discomfort as it has in my case.

Recommended if you are smaller than me and like the idea of a nice, lightweight but protective laptop backpack. It's a winning product, just not for me.

I have a variety of sizes of laptops from the larger Thinkpad to the smaller HP Elitebook. This backpack fits both of these beautifullytogether or separately. I can also put my Kindle in its case in another pocket, my cell phone, glasses case, and a few books too.

There are places for pencils and even bottled water a smaller bottle. I love the front pocket which makes it easy to access things I need to access quickly on days when I can not carry them in my pockets or coats. The straps are comfortable and don't hurt my shoulders like some of them do.

If you are carrying a huge load of books and supplies to class or other places, this might not be a bag for you. It is primarily for a smaller loads of books and supplies as well as the laptop, ipad or other tablets. This is not for the long day of carrying all of your books with you everywhere, like I have done in the past.

I have brought this with me on quite a few trips and found it really handy, but I only had a few books with me. I have also used it for other things like shopping trips at fiber festivals, and craft fairs too. It was helpful as I needed to have my laptop for later in the day so I could carry it with me, protected and separated from my other stuff.

This is not waterproof, but resistant, so if you have to walk a long way, you might want to put your electronic components and books in plastic bags inside the backpack, just to be extra careful.

All in all, I love this backpack because it is not over-sized and is perfect for those times when I want to carry my laptop and smaller other things, and don't need a large backpack for larger loads. It is handy and well divided for convenience. For larger all day loadsI suggest a larger backpack.

I received this backpack through the Amazon Vine program, and just in time for a cross-Atlantic trip. I don't have an iPad or other tablet, but I do have a laptop that can become a pain to carry, especially once you include the separate mouse, keyboard, and various wires.

The backpack has a nice pocket in the main compartment for a laptop, and you can fit some more books or notebooks in the compartment too. The front pocket is where you would store the tablets or wires, and I found it quite useful too. And there is a smaller bottom pocket I haven't used yet.

To be honest, I don't see a lot of functionality that is specific to laptop carrying. There isn't, for example, a dedicated mouse holder or wire hook or whatever. It's a backpack with pockets. But as a backpack, it's quite nice. It's sturdy, comfortable, and generally thin in design, so particularly good for stowing under airplane seats. I expect I will use it quite a bit, for both long-distance travel and everyday use.

The Targus products in general are good quality and practical, and this is no exception. This is one that I reach for when I only need to take a laptop or a tablet and a few cords and maybe a spare battery and external drive and other small items with me. It works well with a variety of different devices, that's probably it's biggest strength. This is a very versatile backpack. Don't rely on it to protect from heavy weather or heavy impacts though, this is a lightweight, versatile carry bag for electronics.

This backpack by Targus is an excellent bag for carrying one's personal electronics. Instead of a laptop I had a 10" Android tablet with about the same thickness and weight as a netbook, so I had space a-plenty in the designated laptop sleeve. The extra sleeve in front of the laptop sleeve was perfect for my bluetooth keyboard and a few miscellaneous connectors, and the extra space in that compartment (the farthest back one) was more than enough for a notebook and two books. The middle compartment was useful for storing my anti-glare glasses and a few other extremedies, and I could put away my charging cable in the front compartment with, again, plenty of room to spare. The straps are comfortable and easily adjustable. Not a single complaint about this backpack: I've had others that had too many spaces, or straps that dug into my shoulders. Good job Targus!

Beautiful construction. I have the waxed canvas version. I use it just as an everyday commuter bag. Size wise it is probably around 25-30 litres.

The difference between this & the standard seems to be the leather on the front pocket, as well as leather shoulder straps & a leather bottom.

The only other thing to be aware of is that it has no frame. Seems obvious being a canvas rucksack but you need to pack it carefully to avoid sharp things poking your back.

That said, it is a great daypack & I hope it'll last forever.

I ordered this bag for my iPad 2 wanting a bag that would give it better protection while I carried it from place to place. I also wanted pockets and places to put pens, the charger, and other things that I would like to carry with it. I thought this bag would do just that from what I saw, so I ordered it. When I received it, I opened it up with anticipation. I checked it out thoroughly, and was satisfied. It wasn't until after I went to put my iPad in it as well as everything else that I realized I was impressed. My iPad fit perfectly and the pocket made for it kept it snugly in place. Not only is there enough room for my iPad in the main pocket, but there was plenty of space to put a paperback novel in there as well. I also found plenty of space for the charger as well as pens, and other small accessories. The overall quality of the bag is very good. It seems to be made to last. I'm confident that my iPad 2 is safe in this bag. I love Targus, and have used their bags for laptops in the past, so I was sure this bag would be made with the same quality. I was not disappointed. I was actually impressed how well thought out this bag is, and I know it'll serve its purpose. :)

I would highly recommend this bag. I've had it for a while now, and its very solid and has plenty of space. Often i'll keep my 15.6 laptop, a stack of papers, a couple of books and the charger and mouse. There is still plenty of room for more in the front pockets though.

It has nice lines and looks sporty compared to most bags. The strap is very comfortable too; well padded and fitted nicely.

The only reason i take away a star is because the strap harness squeaks when i walk. I'm sure i could fix this with some oil but I'm too lazy.

I bought this bag for use in college with my Toshiba Satellite laptop. I'm an engineering major and need my laptop with me about 90% of the time, and this bag fit the requirements almost perfectly. Able to store laptop, one textbook, one 2" binder, graphing calculator, calipers, safety glasses, various pens, smaller notebook. Wish I could fit another textbook so I didn't have to go back to my car, but that is not a reflection of this product, I should have looked into that. Recycled material is very strong and all stitching seems great so far. Good compartments for cables/USB devices too. Well-padded laptop compartment fits well and closes with a velcro strap across the top. As comfortable as a laptop pack can be, though I'm used to heavy loads. Nice bag that fits my ipad (or a netbook) snug in a seperate compartment. there is room in the outside compartment where i put my charger, a usb drive, pen and 3/4 size notebook. The outside has a zipper where i drop my ipbone in when traveling through the airport. Overall a good back and you get that ecofriendly feel. No real 'concerns', but if i had to say anything, the shoulder strap slides a bit and when you clip the front flap it doesn't go as easy as others. That being said, I am very happy with this and will be using it for a long time. No need to take my laptop on short trips when my ipad can now accompany me and do the trick. recommended.

I liked this bag very much. Its very strong and the upper handle is attached to the straps so it has less chances of getting torn. Eagle Creek Travel Gear Undercover Hidden Pocket

I'll be honest, I just didn't want to wear a money belt during my travels to europe. I think they're stupid, albeit practical. This is a perfect alternative. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but there are two loops for hanging from your belt, one is black and other is brown (for different belt colors). For extra security, I always use both loops, since my shirt covers my belt anyway. The pocket hangs inside my pants along my hip. You can also position it to hang in front of one of your thighs, but I find this less comfortable. I use it to carry my passport, medical vaccination records, emergency cash (or excess cash, if you've just visited the ATM and don't want to have a lot of money in your standard wallet), and emergency credit cards. Basically, I only use my regular wallet for spending cash, my ATM card, and one credit card. If my wallet gets stolen I will still have identification, some cash, and at least one credit card.

So anyway, buy this if you don't like the idea of the money belt. I'm a fan of this product.

I already owned two types of money belt: the kind you wear with a tape around your waste under your pants, and the kind that looks like a normal belt you wear through your belt loops. But when my boss asked me to carry thousands of dollars in cash on a three-week trip to several countries in Asia, and not to leave the cash in hotel safes, neither would do--the one was just too uncomfortable or impractical for wearing all day, every day (I have a bit of a paunch, and these types of belts end up riding right under my belly), while the other just didn't have the capacity for so much cash.

This pouch easily accommodated my little stack of $100 bills, and had I wanted to I could have added my passport and some credit cards. I wore the pouch in the 4 o'clock position (on my right side and a bit to the rear) under my pants; one of the loops came up over my waistband, then folded down on the outside, where I slipped my belt through it to keep the pouch from falling down my pants leg. Even knowing the loop was there, I had a hard time seeing it in the mirror. There is one black loop and one brown loop; use the one that matches your belt, and let the other remain inside your pants. I wore this hidden pocket constantly for three weeks (we never ended up needing the cash), and I never even felt it at all except for those occasions I felt for it to make sure it was still there; it's that comfortable.

I did not wear this through security in the USA, with their fancy imaging devices that have picked up my handkerchief in the past, but I did wear this through every other security screening I encountered at a variety of Asian airports. No matter whether I was screened by machine or frisked by hand, this pocket was never discovered at any of the checkpoints. In spite of the fact that the zipper seems metallic, I walked through metal detectors and detector wands passed over me that did not alert on the hidden pocket. Upon my return to the USA after three weeks of constant use, my hidden pocket shows no signs of wear other than a few creases.

I would second the advice given in these reviews not to plan on accessing the contents of the pouch in public. I carried a smaller amount of cash in my wallet if I thought I'd use any. In the USA, I kept this pocket in my carry-on bag until I went through screening, then went into a restroom and locked myself in a toilet stall to put it on. The "narrow range of problems" for which I recommend this hidden pocket are those times when you need to discreetly carry a modest amount of currency (the legal amount of US dollars in $100 bills should be fine) or documents (e.g. passports or papers folded into a similar size) that you will not be accessing in public view.

We bought two of these for a trip to Barcelona (a notorious pick-pocket city). They are a very nice solution; easy to use and safe. However, on the first day the loop on one of them started to pull out of the seam. By day 10, both loops had completely shredded and disconnected from the bag. The seam didn't fail, it was the loops that fell apart. The other bag had no problems and made it through the whole trip just fine.

I've used the Eagle Creek Hidden pocket for 10+ years to travel internationally. I find it superior in accessibility and relative seclusion.

I purchased a new hidden pocket a few weeks ago to bring to India. After only about 4 days of use, I was traveling to the train station where I was about to take a 36 hour trip. I randomly went to check something in my passport (stored in my hidden pocket), when I realized that the strap on my hidden pocket had broken cleanly off.

I traveled with a seemingly identical Eagle Creek money pouch for a decade. It was perfect. The zipper finally gave out last year while traveling in Honduras. Given that I had cumulatively traveled roughly a year with it, I felt that it had served me well.

I purchased what I thought was the same product. Within 3 days the black strap had completely separated from the pouch. I then started using the tan strap and it immediately also began to separate from the pouch. Unacceptable!

A reliable money pouch is a very necessary piece of travel gear. This one is anything but reliable. The straps could have very easily ripped as I was walking down the street, leaving my passport, cards, and cash on the street in Quito. Needless to say, this would have been a bad situation.

In the past I have been happy with Eagle Creek travel products. But this failure is so egregious that I would be hesitant to purchase another one of their products.

Jansport Santiam Backpack

Backpack does the job. I had to replace my prior backpack same brand / same model as it ripped open in the washing machine. My fault, I should have brought it to the launderette. I needed a new one. I bought the same brand/model I had before because I was so happy with it. Seems to me the material on the new purchase is not as durable, seems thinner and cheaper. Zippers don't seem as strong either.

It's doing the job. I'll continue to use it. Just get the feeling it won't last as long as I would like.

I've bought Jansport backpacks pretty regularly, yet this one just seems to lack the quality that the previous ones had.

Piel Top FLap Drawstring Backpack

I have been using backpack purses for almost ten years, and this one is probably the best one I have had. My biggest problem with most backpack-purses is that they come two ways: too small, and too big. As a mom, I need more space in my purse than just a cute spot for a wallet, checkbook, cellphone, and keys. The larger versions of a purse-backpack so huge it could fit your laptop and two days worth of clothes. This bag is in the middle, and that's why this bag is so nice. It carries all the things the small pack does, and also my PDA, second checkbook, inhaler, pencils, receipts, small notebook, my son's wallet and Nintendo DS, and a number of other smallish things that always seem work their way into my purse.

The front zippered compartment is great for receipts, club cards and prescriptions (both filled and script). It is easily accessable from the outside by just lifting the flap on top of the bag. But what I really like is the side back zippered compartment. It is a great place for keys. I can even just reach back and grab my keys without having to take the whole pack off.

The inside compartments are well done, with a nice back zippered pouch for small things, and places for several pens, a cell phone, and a PDA (although if you have a small phone it may be a bit big). The leather was a nice quality substantial without being heavy, and interior material seems heavy enough that it won't be tearing easily.

I will be using this bag for a long time to come.

The red is actually a bit orange-red, I prefer a deeper red. I would have liked more inside pockets and some elastic straps to hold small bottles. The outside pockets are perfect and well hidden, and easy to organize travel documents. I found the overall size too small for a carry-on for jewelry, medication, camera, iPad, phone & accompanying cords and accessories, a shawl, etc. And it seems slightly too large for shopping in foreign ports, perhaps this is due to the stiffness of the leather. Delivery was exactly as promised.

This is a well made teeny tiny absolutely adorable rolling luggage for toddlers. A little pricey but good quality. I was pleasantly surprised by how small it was because that's what I wanted, so if you are looking for something medium or large for kids, this might be too compact, but so cute!

I originally bought this for my three year old to take to preschool. But beware, this backpack is rather small and will not fit a binder in it as my sons preschool requires. With that being said, I kept it anyway and he plays with it and loves it. It's good quality but a bit small for actual school.

I LOVE this backpack, but sadly returned it because the zipper is not located on the top of the pack, like normal, but much lower down. That fact really inhibits the size of items that will fit. Sad, since it was so super cute. Just know if you get it that school folders won't fit but it would still be great for a preschool bad if it doesn't have to fit a folder.

Very cute! Good size for a toddler. Quality is good. Mines did come with a little black stain but I wasn't noticeable.

Wenger Patriot Rolling Case - Black

Case is very well made, and includes a pull-out briefcase with its own handle. This case accomodates a 15.4 inch laptop, and the entire briefcase nests in the rolling case. If you remove the briefcase, that space becomes a holder for a 17" laptop. strong handles and an easy roller, with a large back pocket that opens at 90 degrees -perfect for a short business trip's worth of clothes.

Better quality than equivalent Targus products (which I previously used for my 17" laptop, until the pull handle failed after a couple of years).

Well built bag. As you'd expect from Wenger the construction, wheels, zippers are all solid. Sometimes the handle is a little tricky to extend or stow and over all it "feels" shakier than I would like but this is a common issue among these 4 stage extensions.

I like the layout. LOVE the front zip pocket and the file/flex drop down.

Note the size, particularly if you are looking at it for travel it won't fit into many of the small overhead compartments such as the CRJs. Also, If you put much into the included laptop back (like a laptop) it really bulges into the adjoining pockets both in front and back. (I don't use the back compartment for clothes, but rather books (which have to be offset as it is not tailored to fit dual 8x11 for instance).

That having been said, I *love* the bag when I am on site aka just going back and forth between the home/hotel and office. The included laptop back includes the dedicated mounting strap so it can easily ride on the main case as an add on piece eliminating any "under utilization" elements from trying to overload it. There are also no concerns with overhead in this situation.

Just don't try to over pack it and know you will be gate-checking it if space is any sort of an issue.

PS We got my wife the patriot. The layout is a little different, the "wonder" pocket that I love so much is moved to the front and it eliminates the back "extra" compartment. It isn't that much thinner and she is still having problems with it in some overheads. It also lacks the dedicated strap on the side so you end up using the handles of the case itself.

It's compact enough to slide under the airline seat. Computer easily removable when going through security checks. Also lots of room fo extras such as snacks, reading material, etc.

Purchased this for my husband to replace his worn out case. He liked the look and ability to put so much in it. His job requires that he fly commercial airlines often. The case does not fit under the seat in front and if he is on a commuter flight (smaller plane) it does not fit in the overhead either. If you don't need to fly, this bag is great. It is sturdy, looks professional and rolls smoothly.

The Wenger Patriot is, for me, the classic road warrior bag. It has plenty of geek appeal, with its many pockets that allow the anal retentive organizer separate and categorize its content. It is large enough to be my primary carry-on for day trips up to 2 or 3 days, and small enough to squeak by as a "personal item or brief case" on most flights other than those on excruciatingly small commuter planes. The frequent traveler will see this bag being rolled around by more other frequent travelers than almost any other bag and there is good reason. It is more bag for the price than almost any other. There have been many minor version changes over the years as the company has made minor changes. I'm on my second one after about 7 years. The old one is still usable, but the wheels got embarrassingly noisy as the bearings wore out from miles of duress. My new one has slightly less room in the back compartment due to thicker, presumably more durable or cheaper-to-make tubes on the pop-up handle the old one's handle was much thinner but never gave up on me despite the fact I put that bag through hell. This is indeed the "swiss army knife of travel bags." Unless you need much more expensive "status luggage" to satisfy an executive ego, you cannot go wrong with it. My old one has been my most reliable travel companion for years, outliving 3 laptops, 2 projectors, 3 cell phones, and so on. Even though I've replaced it, I won't throw it away. It will become my second bag on those trips where I need more capacity, because these are just the right size that you can stack them and get away with carrying two of them onto most planes.

I bought this suitcase for my little one before a trip to New York City. It held a ton of stuff for him; books diapers, changes of clothes, and the internal zip pocket is very durable. The suitcase is also very durable. My guy is around 27lb and he has jumped inside and sat inside of this suitcase, and the durability is outstanding. I would buy this for anyone's little one. Definitely worth the price. I guess my Dad was always right; "you get what you pay for!"

This is a really great and functional bag. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for two problems: first, the shoulder strap is really ineffective. It hurts my shoulder to use it. Second, there isn't a spot for your keys. But other than that, this bag is great for work and travel. I love how it goes onto of my luggage. I would reccomnded buying it.

This is a great bag! Fits every thing I need when traveling. Love how it fits on my suitcase handle! Just wish that the straps were a bit more padded for comfort. When full with laptop, ipad, purse, etc. it can get a wee bit heavy on the shoulder.

I love this bag! It's large enough to hold my laptop and files on one side and also hold carry-on items, liquids and my Kindle on the other side. Each side has its own zipper. There are a number of pockets inside so that I can stay organized and the liner is a rose color (bag is black) so I can easily see the contents. There are two outside pockets that can hold boarding passes, ID and passport on one side and car/transport and hotel reservation information on the other side. All easy to reach without having to open the main compartments. The bag has a tab that fits over the handle of my wheeled luggage so I can easily stack it. The tote handles fit comfortably over my shoulder and I don't need (nor use) the cross-body strap.

There are two holders inside for water bottles. It's a great bag. I wish I had found it years ago.
