I compared several black totes before buying the Tumi Voyageur Quintessential tote in black to use as an every day purse and occasional weekender. After a few weeks of everyday use and after stuffing it for a weekend trip, I am very satisfied with how sturdy and roomy it is. For those of you who are post-college age who want a quality tote/purse, skip the Longchamps tote fad and invest the extra money into this Tumi. It is bigger than the Longchamps medium tote, has a better quality nylon material, has more organization like cell phone sleeves, has internal and external pockets (handy for a water bottle), and is sophisticated with black patton detailing and a mirror tag. It comes with a 5-year warranty, so I have the piece of mind that if it doesn't wear well or a strap breaks, I can get a replacement. The straps are thin and flat, which I prefer instead of rolled ones. I had also compared it to a Baggallini black tote/purse, and while that purse has a lot of organizational pockets, it is heavier when empty and not nearly as roomy or sophisticated. I was looking for a purse made of durable and lightweight nylon material, and this Tumi is it. Treat yourself!

I'm now on my second Tumi Luggage Voyaguer Tote. Three years ago I searched all over Manhattan for the perfect bag and finally found it on a business trip to Philadelphia. Light-weight, almost indestructible, goes with everything, goes everywhere. I love it.

It easily holds a laptop. Has a zippered pocket inside for valuables. And dedicated pockets for a smart phone and a pen. Closes with a zipper. In other words, you can put it through airport security without fear of things falling out. Has an outside pocket for a newspaper or umbrella.

My only minor criticism is that I'd like to see them come out with better colors. So far, I'm sticking to black.

The back broke off easily and so it is useless, I will never again buy expensive bookbags. I will buy regular priced school bags for my son. It is made of a strong thick plastic and has lining on the inside but the loops are not sewn on well and are really flimsy and weak. I guess I was not surprised when my son came home from school with a broken bag.

POPATU - Monster Truck Trolley Bag

My 2 year old loves this bag. It can carry a box of wipes (full size) and about 6 diapers (size 5). As he gets older I can replace that with a change of clothes and some toys. Looks bigger in the picture. I think of a "toddler carry on" as big enough to hold clothes for over night. It's not that big.

Oakley Kitchen Sink Backpack

First I will say I got my bag through Oakley Standard Issue website for $99 so it was a great deal. I travel a lot for business, mainly 3-4 day trips and since I got this bag I no longer check bags for travel. I am writing this review while I am sitting in the Hotel filling it back up getting ready to fly back home. For this 3 day trip I packed in:

My Dell E6510 15.6", charging cable, Ipad with charger, Bose headset (fits perfect in the sunglass holder on top), Dress pants, dress shirt, running shoes, baseball hat, 5xT-shirts, 3 pairs of socks, 2 boxershorts, 16 CD's, 16 3x5 pocket guides about 1/4inch thick each, magazine, Oakley glasses, My trusty travel coffee mug, and a small bag with travel approved bodywash, toothpaste, facewash, toothbrush, deoderant and electric razor.

I actually had room for an extra shirt and shotglass I picked up at the local Harley shop and still have a little room.

It's heavy but it works.

After ripping through several "name-brand" laptop backpacks, I finally decided to spend the money on this monster and I could not be happier. I travel weekly, often on planes, and this thing looks and feels like it's brand new after 18 months of abuse. I load it up for almost every trip and it is always comfortable on my back even during long walks through airports. It is a little large for stowage under airplane seats, but I have not yet found a seat that it will not fit under. If it ever fails, I will most likely buy another one until someone can prove they build a superior bag.

This bag is aptly named... almost The storage is very good including separate pouches for cell phones, iPods, or other digital devices to include up to a 17" laptop (although it might be harder to get to the laptop from the side access zipper if it is bigger than my 15" Macbook). There's even a hard pouch for sunglasses to keep them from being damaged. There are 2 reason I rated his bag 4 stars instead of 5. 1st off, there is not any protection from inclement weather (ie. a rain cover). My Lowepro slingshot bag that I use for photography has a built-in rain cover and you would think that a bag that costs as much as this Oakley bag one would include one as well. Secondly, the metal buckle is annoyingly loud when it is not being used. It jangles very audibly and this a distraction in class or at the library, although it is functional along with the chest strap. My old laptop bag did not have either and it dug into my shoulders, especially when riding my motorcycle.

I've been a fan of Oakley bags for a long time before I bought the Kitchen Sink. The first impression after unpacking is that it's heavy, and it sure is. All the metal adds to the weight, but it does give a wicked look to the bag. I mainly use this bag for everything, and this is my weapon of choice during travelling. I've had this bag for about 2 years now and have flown around the world at least thrice with this on my back. Although heavy, this bag is extremely comfortable on the shoulders courtesy the padding and a little height adjustment. I have actually timed myself while carrying a full bag on my shoulders for about 3 hours plus before I became exhausted, but the shoulders were still good. The waist straps are full metal, which I simply tucked them away since I don't use them.

As for the space, let me give an example of my travel situation. I prefer to carry all my belongings in hand baggage to whatever extent. So the Kitchen Sink holds 2 laptops 14'' + 15'' (in the laptop compartment), my bag of adapters, chargers, hard drives, cables (in one side pocket), my hair trimmer, electronic shaver and toiletries (in the other side pocket), my 160GB iPod Classic (perfect fit in the front padded pocket slot), a toothbrush, house + car keys (+ other small things in the front pocket), my passport, eye mask, headphones, glasses, sunglasses and loose change (in the top padded pocket), at least 3 t-shirts / shirts, a pair of jeans, trousers and shorts (in the main compartment) and a pair of slippers (in the bottom compartment). The bag looks like it's about to explode, but that's just an illusion, as there's always some space here and there.

For people who want to use this bag for air travel, two things to keep in mind the side zipper for laptop access and the hooks in the front. The side access for the laptop is really convenient for quickly getting the laptops out during security. As for the hooks, I really like them as I attach a small pouch from the hook, just for some extra space. Plus since I carry a rolling bag, I've made provision of attaching the extended handle of my bag to the centre hook. This is unbelievably amazing while running from one terminal to another to catch a flight, while keeping your hands free. It's a slight inconvenience because when the bag is full, the hooks stand in the way of getting the bag in the overhead bin. But a little shake here and there, and voila, it fits. Also I've been asked more than once during the security check to "remove" these hooks from the bag. Imagine asking Wolverine to lay down his adamantium claws!!

Now for some areas for improvement:

1. Due to the padded pocket on the top, the flap keeps falling down over the main compartment. This personally doesn't bother me much, but might be an issue for some.

2. There is a pocket on each the shoulder strap (very well placed I should mention). I would assume that this is for a phone and other trinkets. The only problem is that it's too small for a smartphone. I usually use it for keeping my iPod nano and an extra pair of earphones.

To give a rating to this bag (on a scale of 5):

Build quality: 5/5

Space: 5/5

Design: 10/5 (wicked cool)

Ergonomics: 4.5/5 (only because of the small pockets on the shoulder strap unable to fit a smartphone)

Comfort: 4.5/5 (need some time to adjust the shoulder straps to individual height)

Price: 4/5 (I did think twice before shelling out $200)

Value for money: 5/5

Overall, $200 well spent.

First off as always Amazon service is tip top. I ordered this pack on friday with the standard free shipping (5 to 8 buisness days it said) And it arrived on monday. The bag it's self defies words. The closest I can come is that it looks like a futuristic tactical bag. The pouches on the waist strap are the perfect size for small semiautomatic clips. And if you remove the waist strap you now have a pass through in the bag which could eazily accept a baseball bat or machete. All of this and it has room to spare. This may not be the cheapest bag on the block. But it's well worth every dime.

The North Face Men's Recon

I did a lot of research on packs before purchasing this one. The North Face is a great brand, and I have been impressed with the quality of their gear in the past. I purchased this pack primarily to use for school, where I must carry several textbooks and my 15" ultrabook computer. It says in the description that the laptop sleeve fits a 15" laptop, and I figured since mine is that size but thinner, it should be fine. Unfortunately it did not fit, the bag would not quite zip up over the top. The laptop sleeve doesn't sit right on the ground, but starts about 1.5" above the floor of the pack. Then there is about another 1.5" of foam forming the bottom of the sleeve. While this is a solid design and great padding, it makes a 15" laptop stick out the top of the bag. I image that a 14" laptop would be tight but workable, I think with a 13" you would have plenty of room. Other than this the bag was great, loved the color and it seemed well made and comfortable.

North Face can't go wrong with this! Excellent for hiking or just going to school! High recommended and great for carrying a laptop.

This is a great backpack that really fit what I was looking for. The straps are pretty comfortable, and the capacity is ok. I can fit my macbook pro, and maybe 3 2" Binders in the main compartment. The handle located at the top, between straps is strangely small and thin, I'm worried it's going to rip. I expected a thick and padded handle, this is almost hard to hold onto. There are also some extremely unnecessary straps that will dangle maybe a foot below the bottom while wearing, I have since stuffed them into a pocket so they won't trip me or look stupid. Other than those oddities, the backpack does its job, and I'm pleased.

Meffort 17 inch Flower Leaves Design Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case

I buy constantly from amazon and I know by now the exact color things are... this sleeve colors seem burn... the paint is darker and not as vivid but still very pretty.

I have a 16.4 inch lap and expected the sleeve to be a little big but not 2 1/2 inches on top and 2 at the side! I put it inside my bag for extra protection and have to fold it because is way too big on my 17" bag!

The advantage of the sleeve size is that when I grab it by itself I can put my charger, mouse and other gadgets inside.

The padding is very thin, not that much protection.

The other problem was the packaging and I took one star just because of it. it had a small piece of cardboard inside that left a dent in the material and still has it after a few weeks.

The condtions are good, the material feels comfortable. If there has more space for the accessory, that will be wonderful.

Caselogic PAS-213 13-Inch Macbook Neoprene Sleeve (Black)

I bought this because I wanted a protective, stretchy, neoprene sleeve for my 15" MacBook Pro, but I also wanted a case that could hold my charger, flashdrives, and other accessories. This seemed like the PERFECT combination of the two, so I gave it a shot and ordered it. I got it quickly, and it hasn't let me down yet.

It's got a very soft, protecting lining in the interior so it won't scratch your computer. I carry around my laptop with a cooling pad shoved in on top of the laptop (there was a little extra room as this can fit 16" screens too) and the case stretches to conform to it. The outside zipper pocket is extremely helpful, I'm so glad I found this case, and It is very stretchy as well. It will conform to any shape of accessories you put in it without permanently stretching it out, it will always return to its original shape and size. My minimum that I have in the outside pocket is my laptop charger, it's extension cord, my wireless mouse, and a flashdrive that fits very handily in the stretchy flashdrive pocket sewn into the inside. I have fit more into the pocket tho, but that is the minimum that is always with me in the case.

It is also very slim-line, and fits wonderfully in my messenger bag and backpack without taking up any unnecessary room like some cases.

I bought it because I wanted a slim sleeve without giving up convenience to carry my accessories and it delivers very well for what it's supposed to do. The only possible way this could get better would be to come in different colors. =] I definitely recommend it.

This fits my Macbook Pro great. Some seem to complain that the zipper will scratch the computer but I don't have that problem. Maybe that could be the case with older models, but this sleeve fits my Spring 2010 13" Macbook Pro perfect. About 1/4" extra space between the computer and the zipper. The small pocket on the front is great for a small portable hard drive or power cord.

A year ago my boyfriend got the Caselogic PAS-13 neoprene sleeve for his 13" Macbook Pro and it was awesome. The fit was perfect, it didn't scratch the laptop's corners, the bag was well-constructed and high quality, and the price was right. So when I finally upgraded my old Dell to a brand new 13" Macbook Pro, I went for the same case. The only problem: Caselogic stopped making the PAS-13 and has replaced it with this case, the PAS-213. Same difference, right? Wrong. I was seriously disappointed with this case. First, the case does not fit the 13" Macbook Pro well at all--it is too big, and the dimensions are wrong for this laptop. The case is a very loose fit on my 13" Macbook Pro, despite claiming to be made for it (believe me, it is not). Second, perhaps because the fit is not good, the zipper on the case is scratching the corners of my new Macbook Pro. Third, the construction is not as high quality; some of the stitches are already coming out after only a couple months of use.

Sadly, Caselogic has replaced what used to be a wonderful product (the PAS-13) which was well-made and fit the 13" Macbook Pro like a glove with the PAS-213, which is a far inferior product. Don't say I didn't warn you!

It looks nice, it fits my Macbook Pro 15" very nicely, and I'm a fan of the extra pocket to hold my flash drive, external hard drive, and cord. And the price is way better than anywhere else!

Updated 1/2011: I've had this case for a while now, and I've traveled with it a few times. It is still in perfect condition. It's durable and very convenient.

I purchased this case for my 17" Macbook Pro (newest model release as of March 17th, 2011). Depending on your preference as to how snug you want your case to fit, I would say that it is a good fit. Not as snug as the Incase, but my MB is not really wiggling around in the case. The padded inseam does a good job of protecting the edges of my MB and the inside is lined with a microfiber material (I think--either way, it is not neoprene and slides nicely). The outside pocket is definitely useful, including the room enough for my charger, external mouse, and a handy little pocket for a thumb-drive. Considering it is less than half of the cost of the Incase (the new "deluxe" case with the pocket), it is well worth the money to protect something you spend so much money on.

Dakine 26-Litre Central Pack

Very satisfied with this backpack. It's actually the second one I've purchased, having found the first one so useful. Sturdy, good size, excellent for carrying swim gear, clothes, equipment for work, etc., so I got another one. So far, both of them have stood up well with the various activities for which I use them. I recently bought a laptop and immediately wanted a safe way to transport it or store it if need be. All I needed was something cheap that my laptop would fit in. But sometimes a laptop is all you need to haul, and the bigger bag isn't needed. The V7 Edge is a good compromise. It easily accommodates a 15.6" laptop. While I believe its claimed 17.3" capacity, I'm certain that the fit would be very snug.

I'm of an age when I only use the backpack option out of necessity (primarily in airports). The shoulder straps on this bag are basic quality. This is mitigated by the nicely padded carry handle, that suggests the owner may be old enough to vote:-).

At the currently discounted price, don't ask too much of this bag in demanding environments and it should cradle your laptop and a few accessories nicely.

I have the black bag accented with red, very simple design and very decent looking. For the current price (under thirty dollars), you get a lot of bags for the buck. It has tons of pockets and most can be closed with zippers. For a laptop backpack that can hold up to 17", it is lighter than my previous ones, which I think is important as laptops can be very heavy by itself.

The top handle is well padded in soft gel it feels comfortable to tote around. Your laptop is also well padded front and back. The fabric is good to the touch; it is not rough but soft and supple. Shoulder straps are also comfy. Very nice backpack overall at a very reasonable price.

Tumi Luggage Voyaguer Brive Sling Backpack

This bag is perfect! Great shape, roomy without being bulky, and just the right amount of compartments. Can switch strap depending on which side you carry. I have been pretty loyal to fossil for my bags, but have a new favorite for sure!

While on vacation at Disney World, the bag I had brought just wasn't cutting it, so I went onto Amazon to find a new backpack ASAP. I saw this backpack and ordered it for delivery to the hotel. Although quite an indulgent purchase, it was perfect for my trip. It is a beautiful bag and the fabric is quite luxurious. The texture is smooth and seems to be very durable. The back zipper accesses the main compartment and is great to quickly grab my wallet without opening the large front flap. It seems to have just the right amount of compartments for me: the large main compartment, a second smaller front compartment with a top zip and a third small side zip compartment that is perfect for my phone. This bag is so nice I can actually use it for everyday without feeling shlubby. I have been, and continue to be, on an eternal quest for the perfect backpack. This backpack is as close to satisfying that search as I have found. My only complaint is that I cannot fit my ultrabook into it. But it it large enough to hold my iPad and I can stuff a lightweight jacket into it. One thing to note is that it does sling over your left shoulder when cross body and your right shoulder for over-the-shoulder carrying. I am used to the opposite, but I am adjusting. My solution for over-the-shoulder is flipping the strap over the front of the bag so I can carry it on my left shoulder. As I said, it is a bit of an adjustment, but I will do it for this beautiful, well-organized bag.
