I bought this backpack to use as a carry-on when I checked luggage. I like the size, weight and pocket configuration. However, the cover to the main compartment does not unzip completely. This means that the cover does not stay open and packing the main compartment is difficult.

Had the product description been right, I would have given this product a 5 out of 5. However, because the description is wrong (the pictures are correct though) I deducted one star.

As far as service goes service was great, no complaints

Areas where the product description is worng:

1) The backpack straps are NOT detachable. They are the standard strap style that you will find on any backpack. I was disappointed in this, because my backpacks are typically ruined when the straps rip out (AKA I load my backpacks up with heavy books and most standard straps rip their stitching out). I was really looking forward to recieving a backpack that had re-enforced attachments for the straps.

2) There are NO side pockets; however, there are plenty of pockets in the front.

3) This backpack has a total of 5 compartment. Other then the main compartment you have one that is capable of a text book. The remaining 3 are appropiate size for pens and office supplies.

4) The U-zipper on this backpack goes almost all the way to the bottom of the bag. It stops about an inch and a half up from the base. This is a wonderful over the standard backpack design as it allows you easily stack your books in the backpack. My previous backpack I had to stand the books up in. I would say that this U-zipper design by itself makes the backpack worth owning.

The one thing that is expressed in the product description very well is the dimensions. This is a very deep backpack, with a base that is 5" wide. If you are like me and typically carry the majority of your college books in your backpack then you will love this. I just started nursing school and was very pleased to find out that ALL of my books for the semester can be carried inside this backpack.

I would recommend this backpack to a friend, in fact I intend to. As I stated before the only thing I am wary about is having the standard style of backpack straps.

This is a larger backpack and it is absolutely wonderful. I use it every day on my way to work on the scooter. The leather is very soft and doesn't smell. A great product and will buy one for my husband.

These backpacks are an amazing product for the price. I purchased two, for my husband and for me, mainly for airline travel that way these roomy packs can be in lieu of a purse or bag, and with the allowed carry-ons, we can avoid checking luggage. They are handsome and very functional. There is plenty of room for travel essentials, a change of clothes, and I include a small handbag to use once we are at our destination. Ordered this bag. Wife says its ok because its from me but you can tell its from China. There in lies the issue.... When I ordered the bag I thought it was a decent "sale deal" as websites states its 80% Off. It looks functional and she can use it when not using her purse to carry her etc's. It shipped in good time but my biggest issue is there in a price tag of 20 dollars U.S. on an invoice that shipped with the bag. 20 bucks !? WTF I just paid 120 bucks for a 20 dollar bag that came over from China.?! No way I would ever do that... Who would be stupid enough to place the invoice in the bag when you just ripped someone off. If and when I buy something for the wife I do so with the intention of her having the item for a while. I love this bag. It's not a dainty purse; it's like a school backpack but professional and "classic" in style. In addition to the extremely roomy main compartment and the front organizer pocket, there are two deep internal zippered pockets, pen loops, sunglasses pocket, internal pocket with flap (I use it for keys), and a side zip pocket for a phone. I can pull my cell phone out of the side pocket while wearing the bag. I use the bag year round, all the time, and it's held up wonderfully. It holds my iPad, a bluetooth keyboard, my wallet, my makeup bag, a book, sunglasses, pens, coupon organizer, cell phone, cell charger, ear buds, checkbook, feminine products, keys, gum, water bottle, gloves--all at once! I love using it everyday, when I travel by car or plane, and at work. I've gotten lots of compliments on it. It's sturdy and stylish. I can adjust the straps. I can wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Any wear on the fabric just seems to add character and doesn't detract from the continental flavor of the bag--it still looks great! The draw strings stay fairly taut. The large flap over the top keeps things secure. The loop on the top is great for hanging from coat hooks.

I must use a backpack due to shoulder, neck, and back problems (maybe because I carry too much crap?). This bag has wide straps to distribute weight and they don't dig or pinch my neck and shoulders. The bag doesn't slap my back when I walk or droop to my butt. However, my clothes sometimes creep up if I do a lot of walking, and I need to pull down my shirt or jacket in the back. Only other problems: It weighs too much with all my stuff in it! (Duh!) It weighs five pounds when empty. The leather strap over the buckle curls up now after 12 months+ of use. I need to polish the leather due to some scuff marks...haven't done it yet. I tried to replace this bag just for variety's sake, and looked for hours and hours at over 1600 different bags in stores and online. I briefly tried two others. Now I'm back to this one and want to get it in black and maybe get another one in brown just to have when/if this one wears out. Bellino also makes matching luggage, laptop bags, etc.

This bag is very spacious for all my books and computer. It is fashionable and has a great amount of storage space. The only problem is the stitching. It seems the more I use the bag, the more the stitching unravels. So far, the bag is not in jeopardy of falling apart, but I would not recommend using this bag with more than just a few heavy items (I.e. a book or 2, a computer and charger.)

Overall, this is a pretty decent product. The zipper on the inner portion of the bag just wears out too quickly.

Ive had one of these for about 5 years now. It's still in perfect condition. Unbelievable build quality inside and out. Taken it camping and on the raft ride in Disneyland (you know the one) and the water resistant pouch kept everything bone dry. I'm in dis-belief about just how solid everything still on this bag is after 5 years, seriously not a single scratch or tear. Holds everything I need, laptops included. Especially great for biking.

Dakine 26-Litre Explorer Pack

I bought the backpack for school, esp. for hauling my laptop. It's a great versatile backpack. I can fit my laptop, plus several textbooks. The different compartments in the front are very useful. The pockets at the top serves a good purpose too. I usually stuff all of my cords in there (laptop cord, usb cords, ipod charger, etc). I haven't used it for anything else but school, but I've browsed other designs from Dakine, and I really like the other styles. I may consider purchasing another smaller back pack in the future.

I like the variety of colors and the design, the size is perfect to keep computer and books. I would recommend it.

I gotta say, i am very pleased with it. Overall it seems very sturdy, and the main compartment has a lot of room. Two mini compartments at the top, about 7 in. wide and 5 in deep. And then the outer-most compartment as well that zips up.

I did expect a secondary "big" compartment, but there is not another, so remember that there is only one big compartment when buying this one. It looks absolutely amazing though.

I'll update this one later on down the road, (in 6 months) to see how it holds up.

As a Krogan who loves his guns, I found that I often had trouble carrying all of them around. I wanted a backpack to lug them about to and from Palaven to help in my fight against the reapers. Unfortunately, backpacks are made on Earth, so most are developed for humans. I contacted the Shadow Broker about a fix for my dilemma. He pointed me to the Pangolin backpack, which would comfortably fit the shape of my hump. It was a bit pricey, but worth the cost. Now I can carry my Revenant, my Graal Spike Thrower, AND my Widow easily wherever I go.

After the genophage was cured, I decided to foster krogan babies. Long story! Anyway, I wanted to spare no expense for my babies. They needed a tough rucksack to carry their supplies to Pyjak hunting class. It was difficult to find a suitable bag because they were all mostly emblazoned with Hanar Montana faces which is, frankly, not befitting of an aspiring Battlemaster! This pangolin backpack is classy, fits comfortably on any hump big or small and won't get you headbutt in the cafeteria.

I purchased the Cyclus Pangolin Backpack for my wife, as she had found the item a few months back and I wanted to surprise her for her birthday. She could not have been more thrilled. She absolutely loves the ingenuity of Cyclus to integrate both style and recycling used rubber that would other wise sit in a trash heap.

As for the bag itself, it really is made of good construction. The backpack holds its shape well and will protect items inside. The shoulder straps are heavily padded, which is excellent, but the size of the backpack means the bag sits more at the center of the back than at the shoulders, so much of the strap just spans the distance between your back and shoulder, rather than sitting higher on your shoulder as most backpacks do.

The size of the bag is somewhat disappointing as it does not hold a laptop, notebooks, or full-sized textbooks all that well. The back pocket in the bag is big enough to house an e-reader, but that's about it. The organizer pockets are well-designed and easily put to good use though. The space in the bag is good, and it will hold a fair amount of items, but again, smaller or folding items (jacket, lunch in a container, etc).

My wife mainly uses the bag as a work purse, containing her wallet, cell phone, e-reader, jacket, sweater for work, and her lunch, and it still has plenty of room. She is constantly getting comments and questions about how it works and where she got the bag, and how it looks like "a big armadillo," which is, of course, the point behind the design.

The bag attaches at the top with a forked clasp on the carrier's spine side of the bag. I was concerned the clasp would rub against my wife's back and be uncomfortable, but the bag naturally sits off her back at that spot, so there is no irritation.

All in all I rate this item 4/5 stars for its design and use of recycled products. I subtracted one star for its size, and how it sits at the middle of the back, rendering the padded straps mostly unused.

I spotted this bag on a little backstreet in Amsterdam a few years ago bought it for 199 Euros because I knew when I saw it how unique it is.

As a designer item, it is incredibly visually striking simply because it is meant to mimic the protective scales of the Pangolin. The bag I got from Amsterdam extends and retracts the "scales" to reveal the relatively small inner compartment, where the pouches can hold your pens, phone, etc.

I've found the bag to be somewhat impractical for daily use because I'm a commuter and having something this bulbous on your back doesn't make it easy to squeeze onto a crowded bus or train. Plus the inner compartment is limited when it comes to things of a square or rectangular nature. If you have a tablet, a book, and a pair of shoes, you're good to go. If you have a bunch of thicker text books, you'll want something without a dome.

But if you're traveling relatively light with several smaller items, this bag is perfect. It is pretty weather resistant (not completely water proof) by design, but a couple of the panels on the dome are not smooth rubber. The base of the bag (resting against your back) is padded, as are the shoulder straps, which is a nice feature. It's not a gel padding, but a thicker foam type that feels good if you load up the bag with some heft.

I've never seen another one of these bags on the street, so I'm glad I got it when/where I did. If you pick one up, know you're paying for the time spent making it, the materials, and the unique nature of the design. It's worth it!

There is not another bag out there like it. It's slightly on the small size, but it's a cycling backpack so it should be expected. It's perfect for my tablet and composition notebooks for school. If you like comments and compliments, this bag brings them in like the plague. Half the time people don't know that it's actually a backpack. In summary: Great for meeting new people. Very Stylish. Innovative. Easy to access. Pricey, but worth it.

I bought this as replacement for my old Recon backpack because the top small pouch zipper couldn't be repaired any more. At first I wasn't sure about this new one because I use for commuting to work on my bicycle and the main compartment on this one doesn't open as far down the sides so it's harder to squeeze in my towel and folded clothes than in the old one. However, everything else on this new one seems like it will be more durable or otherwise improved, too many aspects to mention, so suppose it's forgivable. Now that I've used it a few weeks I really like it. Other than not opening wide enough of course.

My 5 year old wanted this for kindergarten. I worried it was a little to different from the mainstream, but he loves it. It's very well made. It's larger than most backpacks for younger kids. It has a divider in the interior which is useful for organizing things. It also has a nice harness you can strap across your chest to keep it from falling off your shoulders. The outer pockets are a little hard to push a water bottle in at first, but they ease up in time. It's very fun and something I think we'll have for a long time!

Excellent and durable material. My daughter is so happy with it and lots of her classmates asked her where she got it.

My 8-year old daughter loves attention, and so I was looking for a backpack that would help her stand out. We were tired of the $20 backpacks you get in the back to school sections of stores because they are boring, and they don't last. I surprised her with this backpack from Amazon, and she was thrilled! Sierra Designs Jubilee 50 Women's Backpack

I bought this pack elsewhere, for less, but that site doesn't provide a place for reviews. I've owned it for almost a week, and I still cannot decide whether I will keep it. As I am petite and small-framed, I do need a pack designed specifically for women. But Sierra Designs has seemed to want to reinvent Backpacks, just for women, with this particular design. I will first discuss the things that I definitely don't like. Firstly, the clips I find that they are too small and very hard to use. It's hard to get a good hold of them, and depressing them to release requires a lot of pressure from the tips of your fingers, which is awkward. They are rounded and streamlined so that the spring release part is not that well differentiated from the rest of the clip, and somehow requires a lot more pressure to depress less distance than a normal sized clip. One of the clips, just below the zipper, which holds the "super-size-me" pocket closed, is nearly impossible to get open because the body of the clip is affixed solidly to the pack material itself (and not from even the shortest of straps. So you literally have to use your finger tips to attempt to get it open. Add to that the slightest bit of fingernail, and forget it! It's a struggle, and I finally conceded that I would just have to lengthen the strap to access the pocket, rather than open that clip. But what if that clips breaks? how can it be replaced when it is mounted onto the pack body? My other peeve is with that same pocket. I've noticed that many of the packs for women now have this large outer pocket which has a clip and not a zipper, so that it is completely open to the elements. I don't get it... what should I keep in there? My fleece? My map and guide book? I hike in New England it's wet often.

Things I'm undecided and unsure about are 1)the highly molded hip belt and lumbar/back supports. I keep trying it on, filled and empty, and I can get it to feel OK, until I bend over. I guess it just might take getting used to but what if I can't? 2) the exposed central stay: I guess it's just bizarre seeing the internal mechanics of a pack exposed, and I wonder whether it'll increase the chances of the stay getting damaged. 3) A minor issue, but why must all women's packs come in girlie colors?

Things I do like: the way it fits around my shoulders, the support of the pack on my hips. The bottom isn't flat, which at first I wasn't sure about, but it does bring the weight higher up to the middle of the back which is good.

Things I would have liked: compression cord on the outside; clips that are easy to manipulate and use; more external pockets that CLOSE with zippers or that have flaps and clips. Traditional styling, yes but I don't agree that because one redesigns a pack to FIT women, that it has to abandon the tried-and-true features that make a pack user-friendly.

In all honesty, though I change my mind about it several times a day and have left the tags on just in case, I will probably keep it. If I had paid any more than I did ($99), It'd be going back. Hopefully it'll grow on me.

Stansport Cotton G.I Rucksack (Black)

It's canvas, it's black, it's a backpack. There's not really a whole lot to say about it, in my opinion. It works for what I need, I find it comfortable, and it's very roomy. I used it as my carry-on luggage for a recent weekend trip and it performed quite well.

The only thing I can think to note about this pack is that it is a giant lump of cloth. There is nothing to give it any sort of shape or frame, save for what you put in it. So if the pack isn't full, it can sit rather limply and may pose an issue for whatever you are attempting to haul. A laptop, for example, would be a nightmare in this thing unless you had lots of other stuff to keep it from moving around.

I got this backpack for light hiking, but is not very well made. The protective tips on the straps started falling off even before I use it. Also the seams were the straps are connected to the backpack are defective, at least on mine. Overall I can say that is not well made, don't expect it to last very long, but of course is cheap, so you get what you paid for.

This bag is awesome! The canvas is very rugged. The stitching appears to be very strong and durable. If I had to say one critical thing it's that the item description is more accurate to the color than the picture. It looks almost brown in the picture, but it is definitely black (which is what i wanted anyway). Each of the canvas ruck-type bags on amazon have some glaring issue or another but this one definitely was the better choice.

This merchant is very close to where I live, and I saw this backpack in person and just had to have it. I am so happy I did. Nice strong and durable construction, tons of space, padded curved shoulder straps that are extra comfortable, the little extras like rain flaps that make it more safe to use in weather.... Initially I wasn't really sure how this backpack (it's sitting next to me right now) would hold up, especially given how cheap it is. Thankfully, it holds EVERYTHING (and i'm talking a ridiculous amount of textbooks, my 15 inch macbook, my pencil case, my two folders . . . you get the picture) and more importantly, is COMFORTABLE. I have a lot of experience with ACU gear given my military occupation. This is in no way close to military spec, but I wasn't expecting it to be. I got this for my 7 year old and he can wear it just fine. It's big enough for his school supplies, but not too big. I would anticipate that he could use this well into the later years of elementary school. Will it last that long? It just might actually. The construction is good especially considering the price. Zippers are stronger than most "kid back packs" that I've seen. I don't believe they will fail as easily. Best part is that it's very water resistant. In addition to the exterior material, it also has an inner layer which is really what makes it resistant to wet weather. The layout of the pockets is simple and functional. The outside pocket has a few standard sleeves and pockets for school related items. The shoulder straps are nicely padded and counter well to the smaller from of a child.

Miken Freak Backpack

The bag was really great and fits all my stuff includeing my helmet. It holds four bats really well but i only have one and it didnt really hold it that great. I just had to safty pin the buckle to make a smaller loop that would keep the bat in tight. The water bottle holder on the inside of the bag seems small but the extra bat side pocket works fine.

Product looks amazing and functions as it should! Fence hook is great. Numerous pockets for cleats, bats, etc. Great product and would definitely recommend!

Meffort 17 inch Flower Leaves Design Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case

I buy constantly from amazon and I know by now the exact color things are... this sleeve colors seem burn... the paint is darker and not as vivid but still very pretty.

I have a 16.4 inch lap and expected the sleeve to be a little big but not 2 1/2 inches on top and 2 at the side! I put it inside my bag for extra protection and have to fold it because is way too big on my 17" bag!

The advantage of the sleeve size is that when I grab it by itself I can put my charger, mouse and other gadgets inside.

The padding is very thin, not that much protection.

The other problem was the packaging and I took one star just because of it. it had a small piece of cardboard inside that left a dent in the material and still has it after a few weeks.

The condtions are good, the material feels comfortable. If there has more space for the accessory, that will be wonderful.
