HP 11.6" Mini Sleeve Black

This item is perfect for what it's intended to be, a netbook sleeve. There is a zippered pocket in front, but it is not big enough to carry the ac adapter, cd drive, mouse, etc. but it's not intended for that. I really like this sleeve, it meets my needs perfectly.

I often see people complaining about sleeves not having the features of a bag. They really provide different purposes. I wanted a sleeve not a bag. The laptop is small enough to include inside carryon, messenger bag or backpack. I wanted some extra padding and to protect the screen from something sliding down in between the screen and keyboard while stowed. I did not want another laptop bag and lots of pockets to store mice and power supplies / cords and extras. That is the purpose of a laptop bag, messenger bag / backpack. The top handle is a nice added feature. For my purposes I will never use the side pocket.

I was not looking for a small laptop bag just added protection when I stow my computer.

Sleeves are sleeves and bags are bags. This is an Excellent Sleeve.

I received this backpack purse yesterday. It has tons of room for anything and everything. The leather is very nice and soft and looks well constructed. One reviewer mentioned that it smelled bad. When I read the review I thought okay, new leather smell is good. This purse doesn't smell like new leather ... it just smells bad. I'm hoping a little oiling and fresh air will fix it. That is my only complaint. In every other way it's perfect.

I'm very glad that I bought this purse to use during my family vacation in GA and SC last week.

It's beautiful and big enough to carry around in both sunny and rainy time. I received it 2 weeks prior to my trip, so I had enough time to leave it outside the closet to vent out the strong new leather smell. For the price, it's very great too.

Before searching from the internet, I went to a few stores to look for another backpack bag (I already have a good one in black from Nine West that I bought 3 years ago. Love it!) of brown color but could not find any one this good and this inexpensive.

First, let me get this out of the way, this is not a designer purse. My wife loves her smaller backpack purse and was always looking for a larger one as the smaller one is bloated with everything she carries in it. She has shopped locally and found it hard to find an affordable one like this purse. Luckily, Amazon as usual, came through along with it's 3rd party sellers.

Let's take a quick look at this purse.

PRO:

The zipper for the main center is well thought out. Provides a more secure situation. Too often, other backpack purses have the main zipper that going across like the outside zipper so someone may be able to unzip it without you knowing. This main zipper in the middle is from front of body to back (perpendicular to outside zipper). It gets folded over when you wear the purse, helping avoid easy theft.

It's a nice overall size, my wife is petite and I have to say it looks good on her, it doesn't look like she is wearing something too big for her size and this backpack has enough room to carry a bit of everything a woman carries, I guess.

Under $30, large enough for many things to be packed inside, affordable.

CON:

The texture and the material is hard. She ordered a different color (lighter) and that material was very soft, this one is hard to the point that the bottom portion that touches your back when wearing, hits against one's back when wearing. It's hard to explain in words but only once when you wear it, you will understand it. I don't know if it is because of different treatment or processing of the leathers, but this one was not comfortable.

The inside lining is cheap. It is acceptable but be careful with anything sharp or has pointed ends.

Conclusion:

Is it completely 100% leather? I doubt it. How long will it last? This remains to be seen. So far, she is very happy to find this type of purse. I would give it more stars but the hard dark brown leather prevents that.

The side mesh pockets were great for hand sanitizer and water and there were two tabs where clips could be attached to secure items when we were zip-lining in Costa Rica.

Took this on my cruise vacation to carry all of our stuff during our excursions. It held up well and was super light weight. It did get one little hole during the 7 day trip, but I'm not sure that wasn't our fault for catching it on something and in any case, the hole never got bigger or spread open more, so that is a plus. This was definitely a must-have for our trip, and we will get many more trips out of it.

Perfect bag for carrying a binder and a couple books for school. Cross body function eliminates shoulder pain. Can fit laptop in here too, but it's tight. I usually only carry my books though. A couple smaller pockets for misc. items. It's a good size...not too large, not to small and has enough small pockets for those other things.

Had the product description been right, I would have given this product a 5 out of 5. However, because the description is wrong (the pictures are correct though) I deducted one star.

As far as service goes service was great, no complaints

Areas where the product description is worng:

1) The backpack straps are NOT detachable. They are the standard strap style that you will find on any backpack. I was disappointed in this, because my backpacks are typically ruined when the straps rip out (AKA I load my backpacks up with heavy books and most standard straps rip their stitching out). I was really looking forward to recieving a backpack that had re-enforced attachments for the straps.

2) There are NO side pockets; however, there are plenty of pockets in the front.

3) This backpack has a total of 5 compartment. Other then the main compartment you have one that is capable of a text book. The remaining 3 are appropiate size for pens and office supplies.

4) The U-zipper on this backpack goes almost all the way to the bottom of the bag. It stops about an inch and a half up from the base. This is a wonderful over the standard backpack design as it allows you easily stack your books in the backpack. My previous backpack I had to stand the books up in. I would say that this U-zipper design by itself makes the backpack worth owning.

The one thing that is expressed in the product description very well is the dimensions. This is a very deep backpack, with a base that is 5" wide. If you are like me and typically carry the majority of your college books in your backpack then you will love this. I just started nursing school and was very pleased to find out that ALL of my books for the semester can be carried inside this backpack.

I would recommend this backpack to a friend, in fact I intend to. As I stated before the only thing I am wary about is having the standard style of backpack straps.

This is a larger backpack and it is absolutely wonderful. I use it every day on my way to work on the scooter. The leather is very soft and doesn't smell. A great product and will buy one for my husband.

Gregory Mountain Products Palisade 80 Backpack

This pack is absolutely wonderful. It has space, tons of access points and is the most comfortable pack I have ever worn. There are a ton of adjustments to make the fit perfect. 80L capacity is big enough for a weeks worth of gear without becoming too bulky of a pack. If you are looking into becoming a serious packer (or if you already are) then this is the pack for you! WELL worth the money (and i know it is a lot)...Sometimes you simply pay for a name, but with this pack, you are paying for the highest quality and comfort. Read other reviews and check out other online sources...they all agree. Anyway...that is my two cents worth.

I bought this pack as my last pack to hike with my last child. At 54 with 3 herniated discs I needed a pack made to fit the body correctly to eliminate undue strain or torque to the muscles and vertebrae of the back. I went to REI where the guy there told me this was the pack for me, he too has back issues. I wore it around the store for 30 minutes with 40 pounds in it and had no pain or strain. There is a Utube video on how to fit it properly and a video on the company website on how to fit this pack. So I tried to get a medium pack with large straps from REI and that failed miserably (REI is just not set up to do special orders in less time than weeks)so I ended up ordering it from Amazon at $140 less no tax and free two day shipping. I then called the company, Gregory Mountain Products who sent me the retrofit straps (my torso fit a medium pack but my gutso needed large straps) for free on the promise I return the old ones. I got the straps, retrofitted the pack and then went hiking with the Boy Scouts in the Grand Canyon on a 10 mile hike to Havasupai that includes a 2400 foot elevation gain in two miles and had absolutely no back problems. I wish I had a car that was this good. This pack fits so well and moves with you you do not feel the weight at all. It so perfectly aligns the weight on your hips, has a waist strap that allows for adjustment to fit your shape so it stays over your hips and articulates to allow for natural hip movement. It has comfortable strapping,all the room you need for your gear for two days to ten days (its 80L capacity) and extra room for common gear to support a group. It is more money than other similar sized packs without the belting/harness system but once you go Gregory you will never go cheap for the backpack again. In a word the pack and the company Rocks. this pack gave me the freedom to go into the backcountry like I did when I was a kid and enjoy it. You go Gregory Mountain Products!!!!!

I purchased the Palisade 80L pack in March of 2012 and I have since used it backpacking in Arizona, on a cycling trip through Ireland, hiking in Scotland, and the Camino de Santiago in Spain. This pack has proven itself time and time again for it's reliability, comfort, and durability. I originally purchased this pack for its ability to carry heavy weight without too much strain on the body. I am 5' 10", 160 lbs with a damaged shoulder and I can carry an easy 50+ lbs without any issues. Most of my trips have been loaded with 25-30 lbs plus a grocery bag of food.

One thing to consider is that it is not waterproof and a rain cover should be used. Through a series of unfortunate events, my pack ended up in the Atlantic on the Irish Coast. I was able to remove the aluminum supports and drop it off at a cleaner, good as new.

I was worried about the pack being too large or too heavy but the good news is, if you need the space, you have it! If you don't, empty space never hurt anyone. I would highly recommend this pack and I look forward to many more years of use.

The Palisade has been a mainstay of Gregory's product line for over twenty years. It appeared about the same time my graphite-composite/polyethylene Nova was discontinued; although I'm not sure it was intended as a replacement the 1989 Nova retailed for $480 in today's currency, while the 65L Palisade was advertised as a more budget-friendly, but slightly smaller and heavier alternative that could be purchased in 1992 for under 300 of today's dollars.

Over time backpacks have evolved. The Palisade now boasts an additional 20 liters of capacity and many features we take for granted today hydration sleeve and ports, lighter materials, "cool back" air circulation, a lid that converts to a hip pack, hip belt pockets, etc. I recently bought the Palisade and have taken it on a couple of two day hikes of 30-40 miles carrying 35 to 40 pounds.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this pack. Earlier production models of the current incarnation had some problems with the plastic of hipbelt breaking near the angle adjustment point, but that was several years ago, and the formulation has been changed so that it isn't as brittle.

I have two minor nitpicks first, the hipbelt angle adjustment. Gregory brags that they are the only company to have this "feature". I think there is a good reason for that it is superfluous and adds unnecessary complexity and weight to a critical part. I was perfectly happy with the belt in the default setting, and I suspect most others will be as well.

My second complaint is branding. Every zipper pull & buckle, and many straps and surfaces are emblazoned with the company's name or logo, at least 26 of them by my count. Fortunately, most of them are relatively unobtrusive, but still, that's a little much. My Nova has TWO logos, one on the lid, and a second on the back panel where the shoulder straps attach. As much as I like the Palisade, I don't want to be a walking billboard for the company.

One criticism leveled at the pack that I think is unwarranted is the weight. Granted, this is a deluxe pack, with the durability, conveniences, and comforts that term confers; but in terms of load-carrying efficiency (weight divided by capacity), the Palisade compares favorably with other packs in the genre. I say if you want to carry a couple pounds less, lose that in body fat and enjoy the amenities this pack provides.

I'll be through-hiking the 486-mile Colorado Trail later this year and will update my thoughts on this pack on completion.

Although I haven't actually used this sack yet, it is exactly what I was hoping for. It will be perfect for taking to the gym. Not too big, not too small. I like that it cinches up tight, to close, rather than a zipper or other type of fastener. Now to just get to the gym!

I bought this Sleeve for my 17" laptop and found it was too small for it. I wish I could have found a sleeve with enough room to carry the cords. The soft pocket was not big enough to carry anything larger than a few papers. The print on the sleeve was very nice. It would have been great if the laptop was a 15".

Carrot U-70173 Canvas Backpack

These backpacks are beautiful. If you find a colorway that fits you well, go for it! My only advice is to TAKE NOTICE OF THE DIMENSIONS.

It is completely my own fault, but I did not look at the dimensions. Instead of a "normal" sized backpack, this is a smaller "daytrip" kind of backpack. I plan to use mine for a few items for hiking, etc. so it will still suit my purpose but for anyone that may consider these as bookbags, they do not seem like they will hold big clunky textbooks (even though one or two may fit).

Overall, these are great bags. They are well made, and seem to be of GOOD QUALITY. Worth the price.

I just received the backpack, and I love everything about it except for the most crucial part. The construction! The seams are sewn so poorly. They are uneven, some of the stitching goes way off the path, and where they locked the stich they ran over the spot several times and it looks like chicken scratch. This is not the JansSport stiching that I'm used to.

Maybe I just got a faulty one, so emailed the company this morning about an exchange. I'm still waiting for a response. What I received is worth about $6 in an outdoor Thai market (just to give you a visual) not the $40 plus shipping that I paid.

Not too happy because the plastic broke within the first few days of use. Am not happy with this purchase but then again you get what u pay for :( would not recommend

I like the appearance of this book bag for my son. In terms of quality, this book bag is a piece of garbage. At this point the book bag & lunch bag are completely unusable. Lunch bag was never used opened & closed maybe once, zipper came off track. My son had his first day of school yesterday, used book bag once, went to pick him up, both zippers are now off track & can't be repaired. For the book bags marketing age range, you would think this would be made a more durable. Mind you, no textbooks, just a folder and a small book were inside. Save your money & put it towards something with better quality. Quite disappointed.
