The Hello Kitty backpack is awesome!!!! I mean its hello kitty with a mustache!?!?! It is also heavy duty, water proof. Also it can fit two 1 1/2 in. binders, a science book, a social studies book, a composition notebook, a vocab. book, plus all the stuff in the front pocket!!!!!!!!! The only thing I don't like about it is the flaps. Since it is heavy duty, the flaps are hard to lift up, but other then that it is awesome.

It came a day early which is super. It's a good size book bag, in great condition and over the top cute. Anybody looking for a cute book bag for the new school year should certainly think about getting this one.

I looked at several cases and I still look to try and find a slim case with a pocket and a should strap, believe it or not its VERY hard to find.. most are sleeves or bigger cases. I carry my Macbook air 13.3 around in this all the time, its slim, protect wells and the flap seems to be able to hold a ton of stuff and still retains its shape. I definitely recommend this case to anyone who needs protection, and wants to carry around some papers or the power adapters and some accessories.. I keep my power cable, headset and iPhone charging cable in the pocket.

Love it, small, tight and has a removable shoulder strap. Putting the power adaptor in the outside pocket makes an unsightly bulge, but in the neoprene open side it's fine.

Gravis Battery

The Gravis Battery backpack looks nice on paper and in images, but it wasn't what I expected. I purchased the " Phantom" version of the bag. The material does feel as if it holds up to the elements, but the overall build of it doesn't feel that sturdy. the lining between the main pocket and smaller middle pocket is so thin, that you can see through it. The isolated laptop pocket is nice but is not lined with any sort of soft fabric, it is just padded nylon. i did like the side beverage holder pockets. The main compartment is roomy, but the items do end up standing in a slant since the bottom of the bag is designed to contour better with your lower back rather than sit on a flat surface. I have since returned the item back. I did not buy the item through Amazon, had I, the item would have been easier to return.

I have spent a lot of time (over a month) researching camera daypacks and from all that I gathered, this is the most complete camera daypack available. Unfortunately it still isn't perfect, but as you will see all over the internet, no camera bag is. To me it seems like camera bag manufacturers are trying to create both "pro" camera bags and walk around bags in the same bag, and it just isn't working. A walk around bag doesn't need to be super deep or hold an entire collection of lenses, and it would benefit from common "regular" backpack amenities such as extra pockets or even separate places to put pens. I'll break down all this bag has to offer and where it falls short as I see it.

-Look --

This bag looks great. Especially compared to the Lowepro Fastpacks (similarly designed) which just scream camera backpack to me. This bag looks like a somewhat average backpack. I'm 5'9" and when starting at the top of my neck it ends just above my waistline. It is a bit deep (9") for my liking, but I get the sense that most camera backpacks are these days.

-Comfort --

The bag is very comfortable when lightly packed. The more weight you add exponentially makes it less comfortable due to its size. The straps are padded nicely but once enough weight is added the hard edges of the straps begin to dig in and cause discomfort.

-Regular Compartments --

The laptop compartment will hold a 17" macbook pro (15.5" x 10.5") without having it protrude from the top as would be expected. Most 15.4" laptop PCs are about this same size so they should fit as well as long as they are not more than an inch thick. The laptop compartment has a lightly padded sleeve built in for the laptop as well as room outside the sleeve for other things (this will help keep spiral notebooks off your computer). There is also a small zippered pouch on the opposite side of the laptop sleeve which is relatively small but could possibly hold a power cords or extra accessories.

The front-top compartment has a couple little pockets, a large pocket, and a small zippered mesh pocket as well as a card holder. This area is great for small notebooks, or possibly an iPad mini, as well as zip drives and other knick knacks. There are no pen pockets but I just clipped mine onto the main pocket and it worked just as well.

In front of this compartment is a small felt lined pocket for valuables. It's not really big so I don't believe many sunglasses will fit but iPods, phones and other small valuables can be put here.

The rear-top compartment is the largest of the regular compartments. This one is very spacious and able to hold a couple sweaters or a few bottles of water and lunch. There are no extra pockets inside this one.

-Camera Compartment --

The camera compartment is okay, not great. It's pitfall is the dividers, the side opening, and the material used. The dividers are well built but poorly designed. They, along with the whole camera section, lack enough velcro to really customize the layout of your camera space. This would have been fixed if they just lined the entire inside with that felt material most other bag companies use instead of nylon. Also they are a little long, forcing the back of your camera to slightly protrude from the container. You could probably make your own dividers or find extras, which could help alleviate this problem, but for $200 I would expect more. The entire compartment is a pod that is (not easily) removable and built with hard plastic instead of padding for the walls. This makes the backpack unable to fold in and really hug your equipment to prevent it shifting around due to the compartment's depth. The whole thing seems pretty strong however and very protective, just not what I was hoping for.

Although I do not have a 70-200mm lens to test with, there seems to be enough room to fit one inside along with other smaller lenses or accessories.

The side entrance is nice but not the easiest to get into. There is an extra flap inside that was probably meant as extra protection, but seems to just get in the way. A gripped camera will not fit through the side entrance. This wouldn't bother me much except for the fact that they decided to make the camera compartment very deep (9 inches). If the side entrance wont fit a gripped camera then why make the compartment deep enough for one? I guess you could fit more lenses by turning them facing out, but since I am only looking for a daypack, I wouldn't be carrying my entire collection and this makes the backpack stick out a little far causing discomfort (explained under 'Comfort') while carrying it fully loaded. There are also small pockets on the inside of the main flap which are somewhat tight for filters or memory cards but should do the job.

-Extra Features --

The side opposite of the camera side-entrance has a hidden bottle holder zipped away. This is a really nice feature since most bottle holders (in my opinion) ruin the appearance of backpacks.

Beside the bottle holder is a very nice tripod system. There is a small zippered pocket above this that contains the strap to secure the tripod to the backpack. This is great for light tripods or monopods but anything heavier or larger greatly offsets the bag creating more discomfort. Luckily this is a snowboarding backpack so the 2 snowboard straps across the front of the backpack can also be used to carry the heavier tripods and avoid awkward weight distribution.

The backpack also comes with a deployable rain cover that is not attached. I like that it isn't so that you can stow it away easier or replace it if its damaged.

The waist strap is removable and comfortable. Although it is very stiff, once it's broken in and more pliable this becomes a great feature for the backpack. It also has a chest strap which is nice. The top snowboard strap and tripod strap are both able to be hidden.

Also as long as the camera compartment pod is inserted, the bag will stand up on it's own.

-Conclusion --

In the end I give it 3 stars because of its lack of customization, its discomfort even when not fully packed, and its unnecessarily deep camera compartment. This is not a bad backpack, nor is it poorly made. If you are still unsure if this is the pack for you I suggest you try it for yourself and then decide.

I use this pack for my DJ equipment, such as all my microphones, my laptop, and other smaller items. I even use the stand holder on the side for my portable microphone stand. I would buy this again if I lost it or something happened to it. Very high quality and comfortable.

High Sierra Express Lumbar Pack

I own this, the Envoy, and the Passport.

Based on the review citing BPA I called the manufacturer. They switched to a bottle with no BPA over a year ago so that is no longer a concern. The bottle and the package now indicate this.

Just the main compartment can hold a compact umbrella, wallet, cell phone, and key case with room to spare. The smaller front compartment alone is big enough to hold a wallet, cell phone, and keys with room to spare. A lot of capacity.

The pack seems very well made. Easy opening/closing zippers, sturdy material, comfortable backs, a loop on the bottom to which you can fasten something.

The Express (this unit) feels less massive than the Envoy when wearing it. The Envoy has more capacity but no water bottle holders. Effectively, if you need to carry a water bottle this Express may have more usable space than the Envoy since the Express has two very spacious top-opening compartments with a pocket in the larger one. These are in addition to the two water bottle holders.

If you want greater capacity and do not need to carry a water bottle consider the High Sierra Envoy. High Sierra Envoy Lumbar Pack

If you want a comfortable although small unit just to carry for example a wallet, cell phone, and keys then consider the Passport. High Sierra Passport Lumbar Pack.

First off, I'm glad Amazon carries this product -but I really wanted to physically inspect a number of lumbar packs, make comparisons, and decide if it met my capacity, comfort, and utilitarian needs. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any in my area stores.

As it was, choosing this particular pack was almost torturous as you don't get a clear idea of what it can hold. And so I kept vacillating between a few High Sierra products -this one, the Diplomat (which seemed too high and narrow), the Ridgeline (maybe to large?), and the Envoy and Passport (both of which didn't have bottle pockets). But in the end, this product seemed like the best choice.

The primary motivation for getting a lumbar pack is that I needed a mini diaper bag, something I could bring to museums, etc., with the kids and have full function of my arms and hands. Fanny packs didn't fit the bill because I don't want something bulky in the front as it gets in the way. Backpacks are size-overkill and make for sweaty backs in the summer.

That said, it's a nice pack with 2 pockets (one large, one small). For me, one holds a travel size baby wipe case, a few diapers and cream; the other, car keys, camera or flip, sunglasses. Not much more could fit maybe other slim electronic devices like a phone and iPod, but since there are only 2 pockets one has to consider what's going to be scraping against what.

The mesh bottle holders are nice -they are each designed with a stretchy loop that holds the bottle snug so it doesn't fall out. That's good but it also means that blindly reaching behind to reinsert a bottle is a finger-fumbling act. Maybe I'm lame, but I have to rotate the pack to the front to place the bottles back. The holders hold most any 16-20oz bottle: bottled h2o, soda, arizona iced tea, etc.. The included bottle is useless to me as it contains BPA -sort of idiotic given the chemical's bad press.

Lastly, if you need to access your stuff *often*, get a fanny pack -reaching behind or rotating constantly isn't convenient, especially if you have a camera in there.

Overall a well-made, comfortable, and useful product. Would recommend.

A great entry-level pack, very practical and well suited for the casual/day hiker and/or anyone who doesn't want to spend $50-60 or more on a pack from a "fancier" equipper. The pack is well constructed and carries plenty of water. The central cargo container is modest -it's not going to work as a diaper bag -but if you're looking for a pack that optimizes H2O capacity (has pockets for two water bottles) without being a huge monster, the High Sierra Express is a good choice. For a slim profile, buy a second 500mL water bottle. Or if you need to reduce bulk in your luggage, leave the included 500mL bottle at home -the Express' twin pockets will easily carry two 1-liter bottled waters from any convenience store at your destination with only a small change to the balance of the pack on your body. (A 1L bottle is taller than the included 500mL bottle, of course, but the pockets are still deep enough to hold it securely.)

The High Sierra Express is comfortable to wear, not too heavy, and is narrow enough for even the most slender of users. The belt, adjustable from 18" to 55", is ordinary webbing, not padded -slightly less luxurious for long-term wear but also less bulky.

The High Sierra Express offers a great balance of overall size/bulk, water capacity, cargo capacity, comfort, and price! When I need to replace my second, older Outdoor Equipment lumbar pack, I plan to buy another High Sierra Express. :-)

I like the size of the compartments very roomy. the back compartment can fit a small paperback and the front compartment is good for keys, phone, etc. The fit is good with the adjustable straps. it is a comfortable, well-made product.

I bought this for half day hikes into Big Cypress Forest Preserve in South Florida. The belt is strong enough to hold three lens pouches for relatively heavy zoom lenses. The pack is big enough for a tighly rolled poncho, bug repellant, snake bit kit, compass, mirror, whistle, matches, utility knife, cell phone, notepad, pen, lens cleaner and lens paper, bandana, and a pound of trail mix. The side pockets easily hold two bottles for water. It does get heavy, especially with the lenses so I use workshop suspenders to take some of the load off of my hips. This is a nice alternative to a camera vest which can be pretty hot to wear; and a lot easier to use than a back pack. And it is very well made.

the bladder is well made, no leaks, has a sleeve covering the hose to keep it out of direct sunlight, i wish it had soe sort of cover for the mouth peace, so i made one for it, simple rubber hose cover for scuba diving i had in my spare gear, i used 40 lbs powerpro braided fishing line to sew it to the end of the sleeve next the the mouth peace with about a 3 inch leash. simple improvement that makes a world of difference for me, i was always setting my bag down in the dirt, sand, and many other places that made me think twice before taking a sip from my bladder. the bag itself is great, heady duty zippers and material, a chest and waist strap holds it in place, i can sprint with mine full of water and gear, with minimal bounce. it also has a zipper that can expand the largest pocket, and make it hold about twice as much it needed, or zip it away with the extra space is not needed for a tighter pack. iv recommended this to a few friends

I got this pack for my wife. We used it on our trip to San Fran. It's a great little pack and you can fit quit a bit in it. I would recommend this for anyone needing a small day pack or a small motorcycle pack.

When I first received this backpack I was kind of disappointed; it did not fit my 15 inch laptop... I mean, technically, my laptop fit in the backpack, but not very well. Nothing else could fit in the backpack with it and it would stab me in back. I initially purchased this backpack to take my laptop to work so I would be unique and not just have a standard laptop bag like everyone else. I got this after my Roxy bookbag fell apart after only a few months of use. Its way cute and you can tell they actually put effort into quality control. No messed up zippers, loose strings, or bad stitching, which is a rarity these days. It is a bit smaller than most bookbags on the market and would NOT be a good pick if your high school is anything like mine. There's just no way three binders, two textbooks, and all the other stuff you need to haul around will fit. However, I use mine for college, and a binder and textbook fit just fine. I can also fit my small gym bag when I need to and that has clothes and shoes, so its not too small. I was worried after reading the other reviews.

Its a great choice and I would highly recommend!!

Briggs & Riley Verb Glide Backpack

I've been using this Briggs & Riley backpack for a number of months now and have no complaints. I use it for my daily commute via public transit and have carried it on business trips as well.

It is very well made and designed. Looks appropriate for a business professional and not a "book bag" for a high school student. It is "classy".

It's not too big and not too small. Very comfortable to wear and it still looks brand new after months of use!

Well worth the price. I doubt if I'll need to replace it for years to come.

So I've been searching for a quality laptop backpack. I own a small business, do some traveling but not a great deal. Primary use will be to and from the office. This looked great so I ordered one. There was much I liked, but the things I didn't were too important to ignore.

First, the good stuff. The bag is beautifully made, great materials and quality construction. It's an elegant bag. If you want a pack that doesn't look like a student's backpack, this is a great choice. It really does look like a fine piece of luggage that just happens to sit on your back. I liked the organization features and the orange interior, as well. It rode reasonably comfortably on my back.

Now, the stuff I didn't like so well. First, I was very disappointed with the slot into which my laptop goes. The way it's designed, the velcro around the top does not cinch the laptop down. I have a 15" Macbook Pro and when the velcro top is fastened, there is about 4-5" of slack between the top of the laptop and the top of the strap when pulled taut. It should clasp lower down the panel than it does to create a snug fit. This is, in my opinion, a poor design. I don't want my laptop bouncing around with every step, and with this pack, it will.

Then, the zippered compartments don't unzip fully enough, so it can make it difficult to find things in the deep recesses of the bag.

I also don't like that I have to put a water bottle inside the bag itself. I'd be more comfortable with that if my laptop was completely enclosed in a separate compartment, but it's not. If the bottle leaks, Houston, we have a problem.

Also, the little feature on the front of the bag, this kind of grommeted compartment that sticks out on the front of the bag? It's made from some weird material that is a combination of stiff and flexible. With my bag, just having it at home and loading and unloading it a few times was enough to bend the top edge of that thing just enough that it was already starting to bug me, and I hadn't even used it yet.

If none of the things that bothered me bother you, you may love the bag. For me, it was just a non-starter. My top requirement is my laptop has to be held very securely, and this just didn't do it. I also felt that the padding on the sides was insufficient. If the bag fell out of an overhead compartment and landed on its side, I was not confident that the computer would not be dented.

I ended up getting a Tom Bihn Brain Bag and it's exactly what I was looking for. But it looks like a backpack. If you want something that looks like it's ready for the boardroom, but is still a backpack, this Briggs bag is a good choice if you can live with the issues above.

I have been very happy with the Verb line from B&R. I also have the Fuse 20" carry on luggage and the Move business laptop case. I love my set much more now that I have the backpack. Even though this bag is the smaller version, you can fit a 15" wide laptop easily and possibly a second smaller laptop. There is lots of room and functional storage. There are dedicated pockets for a backup drive, cell phone, cables, and extra mags/paper files. There is even a dedicated pocket at the bottom of the bag to told your laptop power supply perfectly. Inside there is a zippable pocket to hold change/money so that it doesn't fall out. Padding for the laptop is good, but could have more on the bottom. The key clip comes in very handy while travelling, even to/from the office. There is a zipper at the rear bottom of the bag, so that you can insert the backpack onto your rollable carry on luggage arm handle, so this fits perfect with my Fuse luggage. Quite honestly the best backpack I've ever owned. Construction is great, design is very well thought out. Great job B&R!

I have had this backpack for over a year now. I travel a great deal I and needed a functional good looking pack that I could take into a client site. For the most part this fit the bill. However, after a couple of months the B&R badge came off the front. No big deal except it leaves two holes on the front which sort of spoils the look.

The big downside I have found though is the front slide pocket that was obviously designed for your cell phone. A really GREAT idea with one glaring problem, many phones do not fit, worse yet they get stuck. I have a Samsung Galaxy II. In a case it will not fit. With the case off it slips right in, but gets caught when you try to remove it which can be very embarrassing during a meeting. I own another B&R briefcase and my phone fits in there just fine so I am not sure why they made this one so small. It also needs the quick access boarding pass pocket that resides on many of their other bags.

All in all a great bag but these minor little annoyances keep me from giving it the fives stars it deserves. So, B&R, fix the flimsy badge, make the phone pocket a inch bigger and add the boarding pass pocket and you have a PERFECT pack.

Piel Leather Top Opening Computer Backpack

I purchased this bag primarily to carry my work laptop as I am an Internal Auditor who needs to be on the road a bit. I liked the look of the bag and the leather seemed to be of very good quality. However I am about 6'2" and the back pack looks a little smaller than I expected . The compartment for the laptop does not have much cushioning. The padding on the straps is quite good however after just a few trips with the laptop they are visible sings of strain where the straps attach to the top of the bag. I still think it is good backpack but I am considering giving it to my wife an getting something a little bigger and sturdier.

Looks exactly as pictured, but the construction and fasteners are not as sturdy or hardy as I am used to for a backpack. Not sure how it will hold up, will update my review in coming months. But for light use it's an attractive and relatively inexpensive bag, to be sure.

Bag is about 13 litres. When I was buying it I thought that it was the same size as the Garden pack also by Dakineabout 20 liters.

Glad I got this one. Fits a laptop and books for middle school easily. Easy to organize and looks good too.

Very good quality, nice shape, fits a lot but it's not big and bulky. Girly flowery print inside in the big compartment as well as little. I got this for my 5 year old and just tightened the straps. She loves it. The laptop sleeve works very well as a place to keep a bieber folder from getting crinkled by gym shoes ;)

I ordered this backpack for college, to be able to carry my laptop easily. First, the dimensions that are given have to be wrong, because there was no chance of my laptop fitting. Secondly, when I made the attempt to return the item, I had to pay MORE for it, because they don't offer return shipping. All in all this backpack has given me a nightmare. The actually backpack might have been great, but it didn't work out for my needs.

This pack is made with the best materials and construction:- The 1000 denier "campdura" nylon fabric looks like cotton canvas but is a lot lighter, stronger and more abrasion resistant. The zippers for the main compartment and both pockets are extra heavy duty. The main compartment and pockets are fully lined with a light nylon material and all seams are sewn over with binding on the inside.

My mom got this for me as an extra gift for the laptop I got for my birthday. While I appreciated the thought, I was disappointed at how short the bag's lifespan was. In no less than a week, one of the pockets where I kept my laptop charger was already tearing up. Terrible quality and DEFINITELY not worth the price. The only thing I can give this bag credit for is it's comfortability.

I bought this as a present for my 4.5 year old niece who was my flower girl in my wedding. I'm glad I didn't just hand it to her without taking a look at it. The "backpack" itself is cute. Princesses, purple, pink. You know, the thing any 4 year old wants. But inside, the activity book / whatever it is was pretty skimpy. I bought some Water Wow Activity Books (big BIG hit) and a few other trinkets to put inside the backpack to make it more interesting. She loved it and toted it around the whole weekend. I gave it 3 stars because it really should contain more and you're going to have to spend a few bucks to fill it up.

Kelty Rain Cover

Well, its a cover to prevent rain from soaking your gear, and it works. The fit is good, and the mesh storage pouch is handy to keep the cover in its place when not deployed.

I would like to add the size recommendation by Kelty, they recommend Medium for pack of 3000 cu/inches and less, and Large for packs over 3000 cu/inches.

I have a Red Cloud 6650 and the cover fits great. No major folds or "valleys" to collect water that could add unnecessary weight, run down into the pack, and most importantly no water will be splashing down the back of my neck. I definately recommend having one in your backpack at all times, you never know when Mother Nature will throw you a curve ball.

Pretty good quality. Easy to pack when not used. Foldable into a small pouch that comes along with the cover. Light weight. if you are looking for a good quality product, this will not let you down.

I have a Kelty Redwing 3100 and purchased the large size raincover. Living in Hawaii, the rain can come and go at any given moment and it's nice to have this raincover on hand. Really simple to use, just wrap it around and seal it tight with the cord. Does a really amazing job of keeping my backpack dry. I'm super impressed with Kelty products!

I got this in the mail the other day. The color is not a blue-gray like the picture but rather a deep forest green. The color wasn't an issue for me. Just a small surprise and I doubled checked that it was the right product.

I have a Kelty Redwing 50 (3100 cubic inches) so I ordered the large size though it's right at the border between the 3000 or smaller for the small and 3000 or larger for the large. I tested it out and it really seems a bit or large for the Redwing 50 (someone even made the joke that I could use it as a makeshift tent if it came down to it). I feel like there should be a medium size so the cover won't be too big nor too small of medium sized packs. I uploaded a photo of how large it can be before cinching it up which is almost double the size of the Redwing 50 ( http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/6135fyD3nNL.jpg ). It makes my pack seem a bit more bulky than it is.

In a month, I plan on using this rain cover backpacking and hiking in Korea during the rainy season with heavy rain and typhoons and I'll update my review on how it holds up.
