JANSPORT SUPERBREAK BACKPACK SCHOOL BAG - New Storm Grey/ Black Lacis - 9CW

JANSPORT SUPERBREAK BACKPACK SCHOOL BAG - New Storm Grey/ Black Lacis - 9CW
  • Straight-cut, padded shoulder straps
  • One large main compartment
  • Front utility pocket with organizer keeps essentials handy
  • 2/3 padded back panel for cushioning comfort
  • Web haul loop

The pattern is nice, but the bag is very flimsy. I was disappointed in it because I have another JANSPORT backpack, and I have become used to the backpacks being very durable and heavy. I don't use this because I am afraid it will break if I put more than a few books in it (books from a bookstore, there's NO WAY I'd use this for textbooks).

This is my daughter's backpack. It has stood up well this semester. It is cute and unique. It does not have any compartments or pockets inside for pens and phones. That is my only disappointment.

High Sierra Classic Series 59401 Sentinel 65 Internal Frame Pack

High Sierra Classic Series 59401 Sentinel 65 Internal Frame Pack Auburn 32x14.25x8.75 Inches 3970 Cubic Inches 65 LitersI gave this pack its first run last weekend: a short weekender about 7 miles into the deep woods and foothills of South Carolina.

I found the pack to be excellent, especially considering the low price point. It is sufficiently roomy for a 3-season 2/3 day trip and has an excellent strapping system both for fit and compression.

The pack is fitted for larger framed persons; I'm 5' 7", 170 pounds, and found myself cinching up the straps almost to their absolute minimum, but they still functioned perfectly fine.

I also experienced the "Squeaking" problem, and to me it seemed to happen only when the load shifted its weight onto the point where the straps connect to the pack, and occured especially during lateral movement. This is hard to overcome during steep uphills, but keeping the load properly positioned on your hips will elimnate the squeak most of the time.

The attached rain-fly fits the pack very well even when heavily loaded and with an attached bedroll, and keeps it dry even in a heavy rain. The built in hydration ports are especially useful, as I was able to use my Camelback resivoir with the pack.

The long and the short of it is that if you are looking to make a smart buy, this is a quality pack that is smartly built that will not leave you with regrets.

Great value for a large framed guy like me... Anyone with a 32" waist or under need not apply; The pack will not cinch down tight enough to be usable on a you. This pack holds all I need to carry with me for a two-three day backpacking trip, with nothing outside of the pack. It rides well and is very comfortable if a bit heavy. Do cut off and then hem the large amount of excess straping. The sleeping bag compartment is a tight fit for my 15 degree bag and air pad. It also squeeks a bit if your load shifts while walking but this can be fixed by tightening down the generous number of compression straps. Overall a awesome value, and the best fit for my big frame.

Hi All, Thanks for posting your reviews on the High Sierra 65 bag, it is the main reason I purchased it. I just received mine this morning and had it on a trail less than an hour later.

Tested 2 hours with a ~25lb load on a ~7 mile trail with approx. 1500 ft elevation total.

Squeeks yes, not bad, not enough to be annoying.

Hip belt large yes, I have a 34-36 waist, after cinching it down comfortable only 3-6 inches of total tightening left until it will be as tight as it can go.

Shoulder strap slippage (reason for 4 vs. 5) yes on both straps, especially when running. This was probably the most annoying thing about this pack, going to look into making elastic velcro wraps to secure down the shoulder straps more.

Top main compartment: Fits a 3 season 2 person marmot titan tent, tent poles, tent cover, tent stakes, and an additional sleeping mat. Takes up roughly 1/3 of the main compartments available space.

H20 Compartment runs the full internal depth of the bag, appears to be able to hold more than one bladder with duel hyrdration tubes ports (left and right side) and huge bladder compartment. Keep in mind a full H20 compartment will reduce the available space in the top main compartment and the bottom sleeping bag compartment.

Side mesh pockets Plenty large enough for a 1 Liter Nalgene on each side.

Bottom Sleeping bag compartment fits my 40 degree bag, sleeping mat, and thermarest pillow with room to spare.

Back zipper pocket Fits 2 oranges side by side, 2 bags of jerky, and a 750ML Nalgene on top with room. Note that the zipper bag compartment space is tied in with the copression straps so pack zipper bag prior to compressing main bag.

Adjustable Ergo Fit harness awesome

Hip/Shoulder strap padding Very comfortable.

It was around low 60's on the trail with a cool wind so I didn't notice if the pack made me any warmer or not.

The only thing missing on the High Sierra 65 is hip belt pockets.

I was in need of a general purpose backpack. Not too large, not too small, and one that I would only use a few times a year. I read the reviews on various backpacks sold at Amazon.com, REI, and other sporting goods retailers. Since I wasn't going to use it that much, I couldn't bring myself to spend $100-$300. The feedback on this pack was that it was a solid pack for the money.

Took it camping this past weekend and I have to say that I don't think that you can find a better pack for the money ($88 through Amazon.com). Some of my fellow campers could not believe how nice of a bag it was, and were even more surprised when I told them what I paid for it. The pack is very well built. At 65 liters, it is big enough for a few days worth of backpacking. It is a top-loading drawstring design, with two smaller external compartments. The shoulder straps fit very nice and it was comfortable to use, even fully loaded. There are straps on the top, sides, and bottom to compress the pack once it is loaded.

I would definitely not recommend this for anyone with a 36" or smaller waist due to the size of the waist straps. I have a 38" waist and had the waist straps cinched up almost all the way. It is not the lightest backpack, but since I'm not climbing K-2 anytime soon, it works fine for my needs.

I would have liked the Chipotle color, but not enough to spend an extra $20-$30.

Want High Sierra Classic Series 59401 Sentinel 65 Internal Frame Pack Discount?

I first used this backpack for a 3-day trip in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I was able to fit my compact 25-deg sleeping bag, 6x8 tarp and some camp accessories into the sleeping bag compartment. The upper compartment was able to hold my clothing, small stove, solo bear canister, D-SLR camera, and toiletries -plus a hydration bladder in the built-in hydration pocket. My 2-man tent and air pad fit perfectly on the bottom of the pack. I had a water bottle and camera tripod in the external mesh pockets.

At almost 5 lbs. this pack isn't for the super-light trekking crowd, but the well-padded waistband did a good job of transferring the pack's weight to my hips so it was easy for me to carry 50+ lbs for three days without any difficulties.

I am 6'3" and weigh 220 lbs. and the well-padded waist straps fit me well and the Ergo-fit shoulder harness adjusted so the pack fit me well. The Sentinel 65 also fit a 5'9" person's frame very comfortably. The air channel design of the backpack's padding helped keep my back dry and cool better than some packs I've used.

The one thing I didn't know before I bought the pack was how the upper compartment lid is held on by four adjustable straps. This allows more room to fit gear, but if the back isn't very full, the top flap can be hard to keep secured. The pack also seems like it has more straps than I'd ever use. But, better too many straps than too few in my estimation.

Overall an excellent pack at a good price, plus High Sierra's lifetime warranty make this backpack a very good value.

High Sierra Swerve Backpack

High Sierra Swerve BackpackThis backpack is what I was looking for 100%. I looked for a spacious backpack that would help me out in college.

I was a bit concerned when I read the reviews on this product, though. I read that the material felt cheap and that the zippers were not the best. When I received the product, I had absolutely no complaints from the look of it. I felt the material and it was good. Definitely not what I had read the in the reviews. I received this product before the estimated delivery date, as well,

which was an added bonus.

Overall, I recommend this product! I took the risk and bought it because I loved the design and it was very colorful and I do not regret my decision of buying this product.

My daughter just loves this backpack!! It seems beautifully constructed with a lot of room for all her necessities. It's very colorful and the best part is that her friends DON'T have one just like it. I recommend this backpack to any female that has a lot to carry!!

I am a college student. I carry my laptop around with me and a few folders and notebooks.

When I used the backpack for the first time, it was very uncomfortable and stiff and hurt my back a ton! But now, a couple weeks later, its a lot better, and I like it a lot. I don't think I would recommend this for a very small, and thin person. The shoulder sit kind of wide on the shoulders. I guess, I dont have the most broad of shoulders either.

I like the color. I was afraid it would be too blue for me, but I barely even think about it, and you don't see many people with a backpack like mine on campus.

I like the laptop compartment, it seems to be fine for my laptop. The pockets are all nice. I can fit my Camelbak water bottle in the side holders. The one thing I don't like is that there is a small pocket zip for inbetween the larger compartment zips, and it is not soft lined. It's like a plastic-y material. But, I do love the pocket, because a lot of my small things can go in it. Like, my pocket book, chapstick, headphones, phone... etc.

Good backpack, it seems very sturdy! It took forever to be shipped to me though!

Such a cute backpack! The bright colors and cheerful floral print really caught my eye. I love this backpack just because it looks so adorable, and I'm pleasantly surprised that it is very functional as well. I like the zippered compartments which keep my things separated and organized. I love the convenient external key rings and pouches for water bottles. The inner pockets are great for small items. The padded straps are comfortable, even when the backpack is fully loaded. There is a sleeve that protects important papers from getting bent or crumpled. I enjoy taking this backpack with me everywhere. The fabric looks very durable, so we will happily be going places together for a long time to come.

Hot Summer Dual Laptop Backpack Deal - One Sharp Pink Color Laptop Backpack and Black Red Checkers Laptop Backpack, Backpack Bag Size Approximately 16'My daugther used it 3 times and the first strap came out, I sewed it. 2 weeks later the other trap broke, I sewed it. 2 1/2 weeks after that the handle loop broke. Need I say more... Really cute but definately not made very well. Ashame because my daughter loved it. :(

The backpack is very beautiful and a nice large size for school. My daughter loved it. Only problem is both straps ripped off the top after the first use and she didn't have anything more than an empty pocket folder in it. I managed to sew them back on for the first day of school so she is still using it. Otherwise, it is really nice.

Peacock 17-Inch Carrying Case Sleeve for Notebook/Laptop

Peacock 17-Inch Carrying Case Sleeve for Notebook/LaptopWe gave this to our daughter for Christmas. Becuase she has a 15.6" laptope we had to go with the 17" model. It's oversized by about 2". Interestingly it is a bit small for our 17" laptop.

This case sleeve is adorable. I love that the peacock pattern is on both sides. I've received so many compliments on it. Well worth your money!

Swissgear Backpack Blac/grey

Swissgear Backpack Blac/greyEverything its fine and the backpack its awesome, just the only detail is that they sell this item as a laptop backpack but it doesn't protect the entire computer.

This is advertised as a Laptop Backpack, but when it arrived there was no padding in the backpack for a laptop. The section for the laptop does not extend all the way up. Consider this if you want an small backpack, but if you get this for your laptop do not expect any significant protection.

17 Inch Lovebirds Eyecatching Red On Black And White DOUBLE Sided Print Design Laptop Carrying Case

17 Inch Lovebirds Eyecatching Red On Black And White DOUBLE Sided Print Design Laptop Carrying Case Netbook Notebook Slipcase Bag Sleeve for Macbook Pro Acer Asus Dell HP Sony ToshibaProduct was shipped quick and everything with is was fine except it was way too big to fit a 17 inch laptop.

Otherwise, A+

This case is EXACTLY what I was looking for. It is pretty thin and doesn't have any extra padding but it does what I want it to do and that's just to protect it from the elements when I carry it, to the dust at home, or when I put it in my book bag. If I dropped my laptop it would probably not protect it. I would totally buy another one of these! The customer service people even called me and told me it was a special order so it wouldn't ship right away! It was worth the wait!

HP TouchPad Slipcase

HP TouchPad SlipcaseI think it is one perfect case for the HP tablet.

My HP tablet fits in and slips in/out the case perfectly. The case also looks great and the good material used makes it nice to hold.

I can't ask for more in a case for the tablet, more so at this price.

i wanted this to be used as a carrying case for my touchpad, but the slip is sooo tight that a "naked" touchpad won't even fit inside it.

Buy HP TouchPad Slipcase Now

I used this for a white 64GB HP touchpad which I wanted to use Naked. The case fits snugly. I just remove when need to use to Touchpad if you need to show off the shiny back. I typically tend to use phones naked, and occasionally tablets. Since I carry my main black Touchpad on trains/commutes I have the HP TouchPad Custom Fit Case.

This slipcase is awesome if you primarily use the Touchpad at one location, and not use on the road/train etc. You don't want a fall of the naked touchpad on roads...

Read Best Reviews of HP TouchPad Slipcase Here

This is a more or less useless case because it would only work if you carry your touchpad around without keeping it any kind of case. For the price, I'm OK with it as a useless backup, but the design is puzzling.

Gregory Women's Jade 60 Backpack

Gregory Women's Jade 60 Backpack, Caravan Green, MediumI'm an outdoor gear reviewer of gear made for petite women and I'm impressed with the 2013 model of this pack. It is roomy, sizing is right on, comfortable and the XS is about 3.75lbs when you do some strap trimming ( I was able to elimate about 2 ounces from the pack by trimming all the straps, removing tags, the plastic zipper pulls and some other unnecessary items on the pack). Pretty good pack if you are small and looking to carry 35-40lbs. Beats out the taller Osprey packs as this one sits shorter overall which eliminates that tippy feeling you get when manufacturer's just throw a XS suspension on a 33" tall pack. The only suggestions I would make are to turn the front zipper pocket into a stretch pocket to eliminate the zipper weight and my special request to Gregory; can you get this pack to 3.5lbs or less without sacrificing the suspension, then it would be perfect!

Gregory did well on the lid and should keep the top lid as is...don't add extra weight by turning it into a lumbar pack, there are numerous manufacturer's out there now that make ultralight compressible daypacks that fit into the size of your palm and weigh next to nothing. I also removed the plastic clip holding the trekking pole bungies, not really needed if you know how to tie a knot and they are pretty heavy for their size. As far as the lumbar padding it looks like they did some design changes versus the 2011 model to make it a little more compressible and comfortable. Gregory should consider making the transition between lumbar padding to hipbelt padding a little more smoothly to help even out the load on the hips. Overall though an awesome pack and if you have a 14' to 16' torso I would definately recommend this over Osprey, Granite Gear and others for 7+ day trips and 35+ lbs. There are ultralight options like the Granite Gear V.C 60 Ki available but are only good at less than 25lbs due to the minimalist suspension so if you plan on carrying more than that go ahead and pick one of these up!

Vaude Rock Ultralight Backpack (Black)

Vaude Rock Ultralight BackpackThis is not made to sit and be looked at, or maybe it is. The simple design is wonderful (9/10*'s). I can fit 3 pants, 6 shirts, a tent, a sleeping bag, gloves, hats, hygiene care, medicine, rope, a hammock, and water/food in it. The plastic internal frame is, fine (7/10*'s). But after using this to hike for three months throughout the Sahara desert, and Europe, it tore everywhere. The material is thin and weak (3/10*'s). Even for daily use this back will break eventually. Even crammed with less things this pack will tear sooner then you like. For that reason I would not recommend this bag, even though I really like most of the design. In the end materiel is what you are paying for. They should have sacrificed having a heavier bag and have a bag that will last.

Mountain Hardwear Agama Daypack

Mountain Hardwear Agama Pack - GalaxyAfter dragging my old pack around for years of hiking and canoeing from the Canadian shield to the Andes of Peru I got tired of sewing it up every few months and, with a fair bit of research, chose this as the replacement. I have been thoroughly pleased with it thus far and, although not abused as much yet as the old one was, appears to be holding up better. I found the aluminum zipper pulls a bit "fiddley" but they were easy to remove and the strings underneath them work great by themselves. Overall a great pack!

Manfrotto MB SB390-3BB Veloce III Backpack

Manfrotto MB SB390-3BB Veloce III BackpackI would be lying if I said this bag wasn't extremely well made. I can't take that away from it. BUT, after just buying it an hour ago and setting it up for my Nikon D600 with attached Nikon 20-35 f2.8 I found the bags design to be inherently flawed. It seems apparent to me that the design was meant to hold a very small entry level dslr with a long lens. Not a larger bodied dslr with any sized lens. There are certain adjustable walls that are stitched into the fabric so they cannot be used any other way as far as I can tell at this point. The main middle divider can only be used in its original orientation and this seems to be just too big for me to comfortably use it for my setup. It puts just a little too much pressure between the cameras grip and the lens body for my liking. So instead I am FORCED to keep my camera in the top pocket and yank it out of there which isnt a big issue if you don't have a laptop in the back. I like most photographers, do keep a laptop on me at most shoots. My 13" Macbook Pro fits fine if not a little too small for the sleeve but thats not a big issue. What is the bigger issue is how the camera must grate past the corner of the laptop when being pulled in and out of the backpack. So all in all it seems to me like they spent all of 15 minutes testing this design out with one camera and decided to ship to consumer. I don't have some insane million dollar setup so I thought this bag would be perfect for me but after a brief use of it I think I may return it and buy something more suitable to my needs.

A comparative image with the bag and more pictures of interior could help a lot of users make better decision

Pacsafe Luggage Venturesafe 150 Fanny Pack

Pacsafe VentureSafe 150 DaypackI bought this for my son for an upcoming Disney trip. We go to Disney regularly and it is my theory that my kids should carry their own stuff. I wanted something that would keep his belongings safe and secure, easy to use, and would hold up to abuse. I was not disappointed.

What it held was an iphone, a Hidden Mickey book, a pocket Disney trivia/scavenger hunt book, his ipod, sunglasses, an autograph book, a large pen, two large mini M&M tubes, his wallet, his lanyard, a bag full of trader pins, and some snacks with room to spare. It holds A LOT! He also used a clip to attach a water bottle to the outside. He had no problems carrying it (no aches or pains) and said it was quite comfortable. He wore it as sling bag (how other sites show: this bag is meant to be worn either as a sling bag OR can be used as a waist pack/fanny pack)

He had no problems unlatching or latching the security clips, but someone else would not be able to do so without your noticing.

My son is 11 and is 4'11" tall and very thin. This bag fit him well now and has plenty of room to grow nicely with him. He has continued to use it since that trip on other day outings/trips. The bag gets tossed around a lot, but still looks brand new. This was well worth every penny and I plan on buying more for my younger kids.

I used this pack on a trip to Vietnam to hold basic essentials that you want to pull out often during a day of sightseeing the city or country or when in transit from one city/airport to the next: one travel guide, small point and shoot digital camera, smartphone, passport, credit cards, money; plus a small 3oz bottle of bugspray, travel pack of kleenex, small tube of sunblock, wet naps, small bottle of sanitizer just in case, a pen and post-it notes and small, misc items like lipstick. The pack was barely the right size for these basic things. I had to hold my water bottle and foldable sun-hat in my hand. My preference would be something slight larger in the same style to hold everything, but I did not find holding water an issue because Vietnam is hot and I was drinking water frequently. I needed the water out all the time. If you need to additionally carry a makeup bag, this isn't the pack for you.

It was very easy to access the contents in the bag a lot more than a small backpack, probably as easy as a side pack. The advantage over the side pack is that it doesn't swing at your hips and thighs when you are on a bike something we did a lot of in Vietnam. It was compact, balanced and close to my body, and when worn across my chest, it was easy to access things while moving on the bike. It was great on day hikes because it doesn't bounce like a backpack when running downhill. I could not use it as a fanny pack because I couldn't get the straps to tighten up enough around my waist; so, it was used across the chest or across the back. The safety latches on the zippers were good for when I wore it across the back.

Security-wise, it was great while walking through the crowded cities, sitting down at restaurants/cafes (latched to my chair) and squatting at food stalls on the street. Worn across the back with the zippers latched, I comfortably sat on low stools, stooped over and slurped the noodles out of hot soup without having to take the bag off. While traveling on overnight trains and buses, I was able to loop the strap around an armrest or bar close to me and knew that anyone trying to quickly unlatch it would have a harder time doing it because the strap buckle was not the standard type that you can undo with just one hand. Most people would not know the extra pressure point on the buckle required to undo it. It was great to know that even if someone stole my main backpack, all my essentials were in this small, secure pack that I felt was virtually difficult to get separated from if I practiced common sense and basic due diligence. I didn't worry about my main backpack. It only had dirty laundry and toiletries in it all very easy to replace and nothing valuable.

Buy Pacsafe Luggage Venturesafe 150 Fanny Pack Now

I used this bag a few weeks ago on a trip to Europe. I was concerned at first because the bag is a bit stiff and I worried about the bulky feel of it. Happily, my fears were unfounded. It was the perfect size to get the job done and not be too large to have on me all day long. This bag was able to carry passports for the 4 of us, cell phone, camera, train tickets, Euros, small guide book, and a few small souvenirs. There were many times I had to concentrate on the task at hand and could not worry about my bag and for these times I was so happy I made this purchase. My husband was nearly pick-pocketed and he was wishing he had a bag like mine. I could get what I needed out of it, zip it up and turn it back around, not worrying about who could get into it. Plus, I could still fit it into a larger bag for carrying on the plane. It will be going on all of my trips in the future.

we used this all over Italy. I used the Pacsafe camera strap (slashproof) and would stuff my camera (micro 4/3rds) into this bag when not shooting photos. Very easy to carry and switch from front to back. When in crowds, I wore it in front, and other times, I could feel good about having to the side under one arm near the hip. Nice design for when you're out seeing the sites. Looks to be very high quality construction, and smartly designed.

On working days, I normally drive to train station thru the highway with toll, then take the crowded train to office and later on the way back from office, I always stop for about an hour at the hill near one of the train stations for hiking. My previous bag is good but it swings if I run instead of just walking/hiking.

Venturesafe 150 is very handy. I don't have to take it off my body while driving (easy to get my prepaid card for highway toll). Now, I don't worry that much inside the crowded train. And it doesn't swing when I run.

Two problems though:

My water bottle is too large (I am aware before buying and I changed it to Nalgene 0.35L plastic flask)

My Galaxy Tab 10.1 (I changed it to Galaxy Tab 7.7)

Typical contents of my Venturesafe 150:

Cards for highway, train and office (top front pocket)

Tissues, small currency and coins (bottom front pocket)

Galaxy Tab 7.7 (main pouch)

Nalgene 0.35L flask (main pouch I make sure the cap is properly tightened, no leak so far)

Head lamp (main pouch)

Wallet & handphone (at the back pouch)

There is a small space left enough for a shirt (of fine material thick cotton shirt may be difficult to fit in this remaining space inside the pack).

I bought 2 units because I knew I need to change it once in a while due to hiking. However, when I put all the above items, the pack seems to be too bulky for my taste. So, I cut short of both of the male end of the straps (the strap with male connector) and combine the 2 packs into one (i.e. the male connector of one pack goes into female connector of another pack, vice versa so you will have 2 Venturesafe 150 in the shape of detachable ring). I like the idea now that my Tab and flask are at separate pack and they kind of balancing each others weight on my shoulder. Normally my Tab, cards & wallet are inside pack at the chest side and flask and other non-fragile items are inside the pack at my back. And I have used this modified version for more than a week.

Magellan's SwitchGear Shuttle Organizer Travel Sling Bag

Magellan's SwitchGear Shuttle Organizer Travel Sling Bag Dark TaupeWhen I'm being a tourist I don't like caring a backpack or a big messenger bag. This one is just the right size for my wallet, camera, sunglasses and a few other essentials. The outside zipper pouch will even hold a water bottle. Light weight and decent colors to choose from.

The roomy compartment provides space for everything needed for market trips, daily walks, and other activities when it is desirable to move about hands free. Generous strap provides for cross the body wear or around the waist without pressure on shoulder, relief from pain caused by tradition shoulder purses.
