Kalencom Laminated Buckle Bag

I have wanted one of these diaper bags since my first daughter was born, but never wanted to shell out the cash. I finally gave in when I wash shopping for the arrival on my second daughter.

We have been using this bag for 2 months now, and while it is extremely cute and fashionable, there are a few things I would change.

1. While the shiny plastic works well for the outside of the bag to be able to clean it easily, it does nothing for a struggling mom with her hands full. This diaper bag is always sticking to doors when I am struggling my way out of doctors offices, etc. It's just annoying.

2. The bottle holder cooler only holds a bottle, not an ice pack or anything else, but I have another bottle holder cooler that holds a bottle ice pack, and paci.

3. The changing pad should have velcro or snaps to keep it folded. The tie straps are such a pain when you have so many other things to accomplish on a bathroom trip with an infant and a toddler on a long shopping trip day or any other long getaway day.

There are plenty of pockets on the inside, but it would be nice to have a few on the outside for convience items.

If I had to buy another diaper bag, I would buy a better designed one who kept busy mommies in mind.

I bought this bag about 7 months ago and use it everyday. The plastic laminate is cracked on the corners and the strap is beginning to come loose from the bag. It wasn't worth the money I spent on it.

The bad news is that the backpack developed a rip along the seam after light use. The good news is that I contacted the company that manufactured the backpack and they sent me a replacement bag (and an additional bag) in less than a week. The best news is that my email communications with the company representative were actually pleasurable. Responses were very prompt (matter of minutes) and the communication was friendly, professional, and helpful. I do not write reviews, but I wanted to let people know that the company, Accessory Innovations, has simply been fabulous to deal with.

I bought this backpack and the matching lunch bag for my son who started kindergarten this past Fall. It's cute and looks nice but after 2 days one of the lunch bag zippers was warped. Luckily, it has two so it was okay. Then after about 1 week of use, one of the backpack zippers did the same thing. Again, I thought, that's okay because it has two zippers. We continued to use it with the one functional zipper until the other one did the same thing. This makes the backpack useless. I contacted the company that makes the backpack. They were punctual in telling me to send them pictures of the broken zippers on both the backpack and lunch bag, as well as general pictures of the bags so they could send replacements. However, my son forgot the lunch bag at school over the weekend and I was not able to get the pictures until the following week. By then, the email addresses were invalid... I tried calling the phone numbers available.. and got nothing. It's like they know they're producing bad merchandise and have skipped town. Anyway, I'm out $30 and now my son is using my $185 North Face backpack... joy!

SLAPPA Kampus Duffle 18" Laptop Backpack

Having purchased the ASUS G73SW, which is a beefy laptop, I found myself looking for a better/bigger backpack than the black Republic of Gamers one that came with the computer. Finding a backpack that even FITS this computer was a challenge in itself, let alone one that has features/styling that I like. When I saw this backpack on Slappa's site, I was immediately in love with the design and colors. Obviously not a subtle design, this will turn some heads and get you some comments. Thankfully its not a bag that screams "I'm carrying a massive laptop", although being flashy it may attract unwanted attention all the same. I have owned this bag for a year now, and have flown with it, taken it on various long trips and day-to-day trips into the office.

COMFORT/WEARABILITY I'm a big guy, so carrying around a heavy laptop along with power brick, etc. on my back doesn't faze me. This backpack is definitely comfortable. I like the strap design, and find it to be comfortable (not the BEST I've ever worn, but still good). It comes with a sternum strap, which is nice when you need it, but it definitely gets in the way when you're not using it. It also has a waist strap, which I rarely use, so it's always in the way. It would be nice if there were a way to remove the waist strap without simply cutting it off. The big cushy handprint that sits in the middle of your back while strange feeling at first eventually grows on you, and now I love it being there.

SPACE USEFULNESS Here is where I believe this backpack falls short for my particular needs. I was hoping for a backpack that had a bit more useful space. What you need to know is that this bag is very low-profile and doesn't extend off your back very far. It also opens only at the top, essentially making this like opening a duffel bag at one end. Once your laptop is in there, it can be easy to lose stuff at the bottom if you try to store a bunch of other things in there. There are only 6 pockets (not all of which are usable) 2 small ones inside (about the size of a smart phone), a mesh pouch inside the lid, 2 outside pockets on either side (which aren't even accessible really when you have a computer in the bag), and one larger one on the outside at the bottom. That's it. No pen pockets or organizers if you're a student and have a bunch of small items. Also the interior space just isn't all that big with a laptop in there. The laptop compartment literally takes up almost half of the internal space of this backpack. If you're going on a day trip and want to take your laptop and charger, a change or two of clothes and a few other small items, that's about all you'll be able to fit. I can barely even fit my DSLR (Canon 60D) down in there with the lens pointing down. It's pretty deep, just not very tall. Also, while I like the way the top closes (drawstring, flap over top with 2 clips), sometimes it isn't easy to get to your laptop quickly. And with the way that the straps/buckles that secure this top flap are designed, you have to be careful to make sure you always have the top flap secured or else you might lose the male end of the buckles (they slip right off the ends of the straps).

LAPTOP COMPARTMENT The laptop compartment is great. Nice thick padding and my G73 fits great in the 18" version that I have (there's actually a bit of room to spare, so sometimes I slide my tablet in there as well). I'd like to see a bit more padding on the bottom in case of accidental drops or setting the bag down hard, but I haven't had any issues in the past 12 months. I'm glad the top has a flap, because some bags don't, so if the bag gets turned upside down, out comes your laptop.

MATERALS/DURABILITY First of all, you will be surprised by how lightweight the material in this bag is. It looks kinda like the ripstop material that they use in BDUs or heavy-duty shorts. I was concerned at first about how long the bag was going to last considering how light it was and how heavy my laptop is, and while I wouldn't say I've treated it roughly, I certainly haven't babied it the last year and have had no issues with tears or seams coming apart. Really, the bag almost looks brand new aside from a few issues. I'm not certain, but I don't believe that the material is water-proof, so I wouldn't suggest exposing it to prolonged rain. I've run through the rain before without any issues. The laptop is pretty safe underneath multiple layers of fabric anyway. I believe Slappa sells a waterproof cover for cyclists. You'll have to check out their website. I like the drawstring design for the top of the bag, but this is easily the weakest part of the design. Within a few months, the elastic in my drawstring began to pull apart. It still works, but I think it won't be too long before the string gives way completely. And, the most annoying part of the bag for me... WHY IS THERE NO PADDING ON THE TOP HANDLE?!?! I know Slappa's other bags have padding here, and frankly, there's no reason for this bag not to have a padded handle except to save money. The silly strap handle that's on there works fine when you are carrying the bag by that for 5 seconds, but any longer than that and it gets really uncomfortable. I often find myself grabbing the bag my anything but that handle.

Overall, I think it's a great bag. I'd say it's really more of a 3.5 than a 4,but Amazon doesn't give that option. Your appreciation of this bag will largely depend on your expectations. If you're looking for a stylish, lightweight, comfortable bag to carry your behemoth laptop and not a whole lot else, then this bag might be perfect for you. If you need something that carries a bit more, I recommend checking out Slappa's MASK backpack, which has customizable front faces and the nice fast track feature for quicker screening of your laptop at airport security checkpoints. Also, Slappa has great customer service, so make sure you ask if you have any questions or concerns. I found them to be very helpful and courteous. And also, sign up for their newsletter so you can get a promo code before you buy.

The bag feels well built and is roomy inside. I bought this for a Dell XPS 18. I contacted Slappa's customer service and I was told that this backpack will fit the computer. The computer does fit inside but the velcro flap for the computer compartment will not close I just wish that the flap was around 5 inches longer. I still give this five stars as it seems that there is really not much choice out there for an 18+ inch laptop/tablet as of this review. I'm keeping the XPS 18 with a sleeve in the bag for added protection. This is made in China.

Texsport Cameron Daypack

I doubt this daypack is 65L and when I compared it to packs I looked at in stores it appears to be about 40L. It's quality is about the same as the $25-30 packs I've seen in mass merchant stores. I checked the manufacture's (Texsport) website (and other sites) and all list the capacity as approx 3900cuin. I purchased this one as a returned item and it's worth the $20 I paid for it as a standard size lightweight pack. The shoulder straps have little padding and the tie down straps are unnecessary for a pack this size. I would be returning it if I paid full price. I modified the pack slightly to be more practical by removing the whimpy chest strap and zipper tabs to make it a more practical as a travel pack.

I recommend that Amazon verify the advertised capacity and remove this review if I am in error. A picture of the shoulder straps would be helpful to determine the amount of padding provided.

Port & Company Honeycomb Sling Pack. BG101

I use it for walking the dog. I put the house key and some dog treats in the small pocket and 2 or 3 water bottles in the larger section and off we go to the dog park or around the neighborhood. Rides well on my back with it cross body no sliding off my shoulder like my old bag.

What I would like improved is padding on the strap and or a softer edging on the strap. It does chaff the neck. I am going to get some padding to put around the strap where it hits my neck/shoulder area where it rests. That is my only issue wth it.

This thing is exactly what I wanted. I bought the red one and it's the perfect size for holding all my on-the-go gear (PS Vita, iPod, headphones, wallet, etc.). It won't fit a laptop but could be ideal for tablets and small netbooks. This sling pack looks great with my Hot Topic Assassin's Creed jacket, which is really why I bought it.

I really liked this sleeve. Unfortunately the battery that stuck out the back of my ThinkPad made my machine too big for the sleeve. However, as long as you have the correct dimensions, the sleeve seems very well made.

The cover I received was all black, there was no silver lining around zippers, and the symbol was in white not red. Either way it was a great looking product. However, the case is not something I would call form fitting. I realize that neoprene stretches but this is like picking a cat up from the back of the neck. It's not awful and it always goes back to its original shape. Just, I would of preferred a case that was a good fit. There is a lip, on the zipper end, that can cup over the laptop to protect it from the zippers. That portion is a great feature. However, the zipper used for the pocket has me concerned that it might cause a dent. It's a bulky zipper like the other two, I wish they would of used more low profile zippers. Though, since it is not form fitting, the zipper will slide onto the side of the laptop, as long as it is on one end or the other. Either way this was not an expensive case, so I can't be too critical. For what it's worth, it's nice, and it will keep scratches away from your laptop. But if you use your laptop everywhere, I would look into to getting a more rugged case. A case that can really take shock, form fitting, and doesn't have zippers that can cause dents.

Military Inspired Khaki Green Canvas Messenger Bag Laptop Bookbag Backpack

I'm pretty satisfied with the bag. It's large (I could fit my 17" laptop in it), and it's heavy canvas (so it doesn't collapse). The only default is where the strap connected to the bag is a metal loop that flips sideways. I put a safety pin close to the metal bar so it's a tight fit and won't turn sideways.

Also, it shows in the photo a clip and zipper on the front flap there is no clip and there is no zipper. Velco doesn't stay very secure, but the flap is heavy, so it's not that critical.

I bought this bag as a gift for my boyfriend. We're in college so he uses the bag for carrying textbooks and whatnot. He LOVES the design of the bag. Our only problems with the bag are that the metal piece connecting the strap to the bag stretched apart and broke right away. My boyfriend only puts a couple textbooks and notebooks in there and the books are actually pretty small and light weight. Our other problem is that the side pockets barely open and you can't put much in there. It's a good place for instant access to pens and pencils though. Over all I would recommend this product, but you should include a carabiner or something to replace the metal strap piece when it stretches open and breaks.

I purchased this bag as an inexpensive work bag. I did not need an extremely sturdy bag but something to carry lightweight items. I am not a big believer in taking work home (home is for family) so I only carry things like notebook, ipad, phone, wallet etc.

The old saying "you get what you paid for" is true. I did not pay much for this bag and got a poor bag in return. The outside pockets do not close so they are unusable. There are no pockets in the main compartment so all of the things that you carry are loose and difficult to find. The zipper broke in less than a month. Worst of all, the bag started fraying almost immediately after purchase.

This is a great looking bag but of poor quality.

Transformers 'Optimus Bumblebee'' School Bag Rucksack Backpack

My 5 y.o. son loves this backpack. We had a bit of a tough time finding an Optimus Prime backpack. He uses it for school, it's only been 3 days but I think it will last the whole year. I have carried a fanny pack instead of a purse to keep my hands free since my (now 20 year old) son was a toddler. I paid over $130 for my first high-quality leather pack. I found the Piel pack at a leather shop years later when trying to replace the first, rather tattered, one. I've owned four of the Piel packs since. The three pockets (one in the back), dual metal zip and arrangement and size of the pockets are perfect for everything I carry, and they LAST. They are usually scratched, stained, and unsightly, not worn, when I replace them (2-3 years with no maintenance). The inside pockets are cloth and have never failed, zippers are plastic or nylon, but pulls are metal, they have also never failed, neither has the stitching or smooth leather. Perfect for the traveler to keep essentials handy, I've only had it counted as my "3rd" bag once while boarding the plane, and I travel a LOT. I'm buying one in each color this trip.

This is a mice fanny pack. But don't be confused into thinking it is a waist purse or in any way cooler than any other fanny pack. It is most definitely a fanny pack. It has two pockets and is large enough to hold a wallet, brush, car keys and a cell phone. It may hold a few other small items as well, depending on size obviously. The leather isn't super soft, but not scratchy and cheap feeling either. If you want a FANNY PACK and are comfortable enough in your own coolness to wear a fanny pack, go for it. This one is a great price for the quality.

This is a great bag!

I get complements on this it is wonderful leather (5 stars there)

The real ding on the 5th star is due to the clasp on the belt part. The leather loops through but there is no way to "secure" once adjusted and it slowly slips while I am walking.

Today I accidentally closed the strap in the car door and broke the clasp (DOH) I think I can replace it if I find the right size. Maybe I can contact Piel Leather for a replacement part it is not the part that is sewn on...

But I am also back to order another as a gift these really are worth the money!

another Update so I did hey are sending a replacement clasp they are charging only S&H

Meanwhile I have ordered TWO more on just like this (requested by my neighbor and one a size up it is a bigger version and has the same clasp but an additional metal buckle that you use to adjust. That solves the issue of the flapping end.

I traveled for two months in Asia staying in budget guesthouses and this was a lifesaver. It was a huge relief to be able to leave my valuables in the room without worrying about them. The bag easily fit a large netbook, Nikon D90 with 18-200 lens, money belt, external hard drive, phone, and memory cards.

I always found something to attach it to. Sometimes it was a heavy piece of furniture, but in the more basic rooms sometimes I had to attach it to the deadbolt frame on the bathroom door or even the towel rack.

I took one of the keys with me when I left the room in a pocket in my day pack, and left the other well-hidden inside a medication container in my first aid kit in the room in case the key in my day pack was ever lost. This might not be secure enough for some, but since I was staying in reputable guesthouses I was more concerned about an opportunistic thief who would make a quick grab rather than someone with a lot of time to comb through my stuff.

In general, keeping track of the keys was a bit of a pain, so you may want to consider replacing the keyed lock with a combo lock.

When I was traveling between locations I just placed the valuables in my day pack, rolled up the PacSafe, and put it in my main backpack. It didn't take up too much space and looked innocuous rolled up so I didn't think it was in danger of being stolen. You could also pack it flat if you had a suitcase.

By the way, it had gotten dirty on my trip so I washed it in the washing machine in cold water since I was too lazy to hand wash. Don't make that mistake! It damaged the cloth and the steel mesh is showing through in one spot now. Fortunately it's still usable.

WOW I wish I had found this YEARS ago. I consider this thing a "Portable Safe" My son loves to go to our local swimming pool but there are no "lockers" to secure his stuff. Between his iPhone, cash, and shoes he's carrying over $600 worth of valuables that he "hides" for security. This product is almost perfect. The steel mesh is covered on both the INSIDE and OUTSIDE (something they left off the product description). You don't have to worry about putting an iPad or notebook computer an it getting scratched. Really amazing product very easy to use. My son also plans to take it with him to Tennis tournaments. He can thread the cable through his tennis bag, through the frame of his rackets and still secure his phone and computer (which he takes for all the downtime between matches. Love this product so much I have also ordered the smaller one.

Only one complaint. The included key is VERY small. When he goes to the pool it would be easy to lose this key. I switched out the included lock for a combo lock. I know the combo is less secure, but there was no way to keep track of that key. They need a bracelet or some kind of safety pin rig for a key that small (its REALLY small).
