I was very excited to get a new backpack. It fits my laptop just wonderfully. However I have had a terrible time fitting my laptop, a binder, and a textbook in the bag all at the same time. I have never gotten a water bottle to fit in the side stretch pouches. I no longer use half of the pockets because it just crept in on the interior spaces and I couldn't fit my books/binder in it. The zippers are pretty much ruined after one semester use. It does have a very convenient lined pouch on the top. Its a good bag if you don't plan on filling it completely up.

Let me just state that I love Ogio equipment. I own several of their small and medium luggage bags, one of their large luggage bags and a couple backpacks from previous jobs. I also travel a lot, every weekend from Feb to Nov. I bought this bag and first impressions were not that good. The quality didn't seem great and after about 4 weeks of using it there's a tear in the seem near the zipper. I didn't think it would last long and I wasn't surprised after I saw it. This is one of those cases where I wouldn't have bought it if I were able to get my hands on it before making a decision.

I bought this packback from Amazon for my daily 40mi commute. Shipping fee is always fair and items are recieved very quickly, even to Hawaii. The backpack has lots of separate compartments, but the compartments are all kinda small. I dont carry a laptop, so my rain gear takes up that space. The main pocket barely holds my soft lunch cooler. The very small bottle holders barely hold my small coffee thermos. Its a very nice and comfortable packback tho. The straps are nicely shaped and padded. The clip on the chest strap seems a little flimsy and is can be a little hard to clip together with gloves on. I still rate it pretty high because it does look great, its comfy, and it holds everything I need it to hold for my daily trip to work.

This is my second Ogio backup. My first one lasted through 3 laptops, so figured I would try this never model with my new laptop. What a great deal!!! It seems to be of the same sturdy construction and have all the features I was looking for. The top-opening laptop compartment works better for me than the side compartment, so that's a plus. Also, it's very comfortable to wear with a handy sternum strap. The only negative is the mini side compartments behind the water bottle / hydration pouches. I'm glad to have them because they are useful, but you can't put too much inside if you are going to have something in the bottle/hydration pouch; there's just limited space back there so something has to give. Other than that, it was worth every penny!

SOLO Tech - 17.3" Laptop and iPad Backpack

Was a little TOO snug for the 17.3" laptop, so we had to return it. It seemed to be sturdily constructed and the blues were quite bright and colorful.

This is a very good large laptop backpack.

I was looking for a large backpack that would hold my books, laptop and my little lunch bag for the day, and it was this or the Targus XL Backpack. Well after looking at both I went for the cheaper one. So far I haven't regretted the decision. The size is slightly smaller than the Targus, and it does seem to be a little lower in the quality of material and build, but the comfort and compartments to me seem just a tiny bit better. I like Solo's large main compartment with the smaller nicknacks in the front compartment and the laptop compartment in the back.

The zippers seem to be well constructed with metal pulls, but the bag material on the bottom seems like it might be a bit flimsy and I suspect it will wear out quickly. The straps are nice and cushiony and the back padding is very comfortable.

So far it has been very good. I'll try and report back in a few months to tell you how it has held up.

I bought this backpack for a roadtrip with some friends. Since it's a roadtrip I couldn't take a suitcase with me so I decided to buy a traveling backpack instead. I knew that SwissGear is a good brand for backpacks and after looking through Amazon I decided to buy this one.

When I received this backpack I knew that this is a high quality product after unpacking it. The material is very durable and the zippers are huge and strong. I was amazed by how much stuff this backpack can pack! I fitted in about 12 shirts and underwear, 1 sweater, 1 jacket, 1 pair of pants, 5 pairs of socks, 1 laptop, and some small stuff such as shaver, toothbrush, chargers, camera, etc. It is just like a small suitcase!

We purchased this backpack for our new 17" HP laptop. The website was very good at helping us pick a backpack this laptop would actually fit itside. It also has the special pocket that, hopefully, will make getting through airport security checks easier (don't know yet I fly with it for the first time tomorrow). Very heavy duty contruction and well made zippers and pockets. My only complaint is that it is so big, my husband can load so much stuff in it that it winds up being pretty heavy. No slinging it over one shoulder for long you need to use both straps for the load! EDIT made it through the airline security perfectly did not have to remove the computer, just opened the special zippered compartment! They did find my water bottle though I had forgotten it in that deep side pocket! I met someone else in line with this same backpack. He had been using it for 2 years and it still looked great.

Have been using this backpack for a month now. Like being able to go through the "TSA Gauntlet" without taking the laptop out of the backpack; just unzip the backpack and lay it on the conveyor belt opened up. On the other side zip it back up and you're on your way.

My husband needed a new backpack to carry his 17" laptop. What makes finding the right backpack difficult is the fact his laptop is at least 2" deep. It's fairly old, but still runs like a dream, so no upgrading if the size is the only problem.

This backpack provided details about the size of the laptop compartment so we were pretty sure it would fit (we have had some disagreements with published dimensions before). It worked. The backpack also has enough other compartments and storage to hold his massive power brick for the laptop, gaming mouse, headphones, hard cover book, and snacks.

He's pretty rough on gear and this is still going strong despite 3 long distance trips and cross country trip. We would recommend this backpack.

I purchases this bag for my 2 year old son because he loves elmo. The bag was a bit bigger than I thought and it expands out once you put stuff in it so depending on what we have in it my son isn't able to carry it on his back all the time, but i figured he would just be able to grow into it so i wasn't going to bother sending it back for a smaller one.

Hard to believe we have had this bag for a few months and my daughter just won't let it go. We use it for daycare and pack most of her day to day and weekly belongings and meals so it works out nicely. I would have liked a little more room though. At the end of the week we bring all of her belongings home and sometimes need a second bag to carry her stuff. Other than that, well made and solid little bag that does the job.

Crumpler Local Identity (S) PHOTO

One of my many hats is "professional photographer", a side issue of being a photographer is the never ending search for the "perfect" camera bag. I have settled for some Tenba Air cases for real shoot gear capacity..

However for my light travel/street backpack the slot have been open. until now.

The Crumpler Local Identity comes with the "heaven" padded insert. the insert have enough room for my Leica M with 35mm and a spare lens. There is actually enough room to fit one sideways on the other side also, but even though i do it, I do not recommend it.

The S size is advertised as a 13" laptop size, however my MacBookPro 15" fit perfectly in the S.

There is a nifty zipper fake bottom which can be closed to prevent stuff from dropping down and mingling with the camera padded case.

The top is roll down with a waterproof zipper, inside is a sleeve against the back and all the way to the top for the laptop, you can comfortably carry a laptop and camera at the same time.

On each side is a vertical zipper for easy access, I put the camera case so I can reach if by sliding the bag down on my left shoulder. On the other side I put a padded lens sleeve for one extra lens. Both of the side openings have a quick connect lock for fast access and it is possible to close it while leaving the zippers open.. (just remember they are open)

This is a LIGHT pack, room for camera + 1 lens in the padded sleeve, and another one on the other side if you have a separate sleeve. you "could" put a sleeve on the top for more gear.. but then you might as well get a bigger bag.

I have been using the Local Identity S to go to the office because it take my MBP 15" and my street camera with a spare lens in serious comfort and padded safety.

If anyone of the crumpler designers read this I would love a XS size, shave off a little size and make it iPad size. with the same camera heaven insert. Thanks guys.

So is this a recommended pack.? I have a hard time using the word "recommended" since this backpack is such a specialized creature, I absolutely love mine, it is brilliantly designed and so well made, it do not swallow huge amounts of lenses, this works great for me but your needs may be different than mine.

I should say first that I'm always in search of the "perfect" bag. Since it is an item I use daily, I'm happy to spend money for quality, and I'd hoped that the Crumpler Local Identity (S) would be worth it. Sadly, it simply isn't.

First, the good parts:

The bag is reasonably comfortable (I'm 5'5"). It holds (snugly) a 13" MacBook Air in a Waterfield Designs sleeve, a Canon T3i with Sigma 24mm prime and flash (only the camera and lens fit in the little sack, and quite snugly). Maybe also a pouch or two about the size of a pencil case. That's about it. With all that, there's not much room for your lunch. The design is overall pretty reasonable: a top-loading pouch with a zippered divider to separate into two compartments, and two side zippers that allow access to the pouch. It's not terribly heavy, it's waterproof, and looks pretty good. In black, it doesn't really call attention to itself; I can't speak to the other colors.

Now, the not so good:

The main feature of the pack is rapid access to camera gear. Swing the sack over one shoulder, slide it around, unclip the side clip, undo the zipper and slide the camera out of the protective pouch. At least in theory. In practice, the problem comes when running into the side zippers, which curve pretty drastically. Putting zippers on a curved track is generally a recipe for disaster, and Crumpler, as good as they are, can't do anything about this. The first bag I had, the zipper went off the rails within the first week. Because the zippers are "watertight" there isn't any way to repair the bag at home. So it was back to Crumpler for an exchange, which was pretty seamless, but annoying. Now, on bag 2, I'm really careful with the zippers, and it's still pretty clearly a showstopper. There's no way to run the zipper up one-handed -one hand has to grasp the bottom of the case to help guide the zipper up its track. Admittedly, this sounds like a first world problem, but it means that there's no way to quickly close the bag while holding the camera that you've just pulled out.

Second, the female parts of the clips that close the sides of the bag aren't well secured. On one side, one of the little plastic inserts (three prong) that holds it in broke. Not surprisingly, a week afterwards, it was gone. So now I've got one side of the snap flying free. Again, no real way to repair it unless you can find the precise part somewhere. I couldn't.

Lastly, the top folds down and snaps shut. At the point of the fold, the bag material can't put up with the strain of being folded/unfolded and has started to wear through. I expect this will mean the end of the waterproofing when it does.

So the search for the perfect bag continues. I had high hopes for Crumpler, and shelled out for what is clearly meant to be a premium bag. Because of these fundamental flaws, and the way it has worn over the year, I recommend looking elsewhere.

I really liked this sleeve. Unfortunately the battery that stuck out the back of my ThinkPad made my machine too big for the sleeve. However, as long as you have the correct dimensions, the sleeve seems very well made.

I find a lot of technology cases look tacky and "gadgety" but this one looks clean and classic. It's slim appearance belies the fact that it can actually hold a thicker laptop.

High Sierra Tech Series 59404 Titan 55 Internal Frame Pack

We are going on a 2-night, 3 day backpacking trip next weekend up the South Sister in central Oregon, and will be putting these packs to the test. I'll update my review at that time. My boyfriend and I each purchased one. First impression was good out out of the box. It was quite easy to adjust to my frame, 5'6" female, and my BF 5'9". We both have a lean torso, so having the flexibility there was important. MANY pockets! We noticed right away we'll need to buy compression bags for our sleeping bags, as ours aren't mummy bags and will take up a ton of room. The separate sleeping bag compartment seems a little small, but there are so many compartments and can unzip the divider, so I think it's a non-issue. They are super light empty also. I love that they are already hydration pack (blatter bag) ready and also an outer mesh holder for a water bottle. We'll see how they measure up next weekend!

UPDATE 9/17/12. The 3 day bakpacking trip was a success. We loved our bags. Very roomy and adjustable. Found them to be durable and functional. I would recommend this pack to anyone.

At $67 this pack was a steal in my opinion. I was in need of a pack capable of 2-3 night backpacking trips and this one didn't disappoint. I recently used the Titan 55 on a 3 day 2 night backpacking trip in the grand canyon and it held up perfectly. I was able to hike 24miles round trip with roughly 30lbs of gear quite comfortably. The straps were padded and comfy, the zippers never got stuck, and the compression straps on the outside were great for strapping on extra gear. Some of the threading and buckles seem a bit cheap, but at under $70 I can't complain too much.

This is a nice starter Back pack for the money. The contruction is pretty good, and it holds a decent amout of gear. You can't stick a Wiggy's 0 degree sleeping bag in it but I doubt many packs could handle it. The connecting hardware seems to be alittle on the light/cheap side, but light wieght is a good thing when every oz counts. I really like that the pack shoulder straps can be adjusted to fit the user. The shoulder straps are connected to the pack via a ladder system, similiar to Eberlestock packs. This comes in handy since I purchased this pack for my daughter. The pack has aluminum support stays that can also be removed and bent to fine tune the pack to the user. This is a big plus, but putting stays back in was difficult. The stays have little plastic caps on the ends of them and when I pulled out the aluminum stay the bottom plastic cap came off and I had to slowly work it out of the channel at the bottom of the pack up to the top, PIA and another reason it took away a star. This isn't a high end Gregory or Kelty etc but it is a good pack never the less at least in my humble opinion so much so that I purchased another. Oh and one more thing I really like the pouches built into the hip belt and the smaller cell phone carrier built into the shoulder strap. Nice feature.

This backpack holds everything I think I might possibly need and has room to spare! Holds my sleeping bag (about 10' round by 12" long) Therm-a-rest ridge rest pad, blanket, and long johns/wool socks all in the main compartment. In the external pockets I've got room for a mess kit, hobo tool, sierra saw, camp shovel, first aid kit, matches/lighters, multi-tool, and pocket knife with at least 2 medium and 1 small pockets to spare. I've strapped a machete, camp chair, and tent to the outside. Very comfortable to wear with the adjustable shoulder straps. I haven't had a chance to try it out in the field yet, but I can tell the quality of it's construction. It really seems like they thought of everything when designing this pack. A great deal at most any price, especially $100 less than similar packs at some sporting goods stores.

Littlelife Runabout Toddler Daypack

I'm sure Littlelife had every intention to be kind to toddlers by preventing parents from overloading them. From that standpoint, this pack fits its billing.

The dimensions listed (9 x 7 x 2 inches) are mostly accurate, except that the pack is slightly hump shaped, so the two-inch interior depth tapers down towards the top.

For an 14 to 18 month old who wants to help, this pack would be perfect: padded "just right" on the straps and back, quality materials and durable construction to survive a little rough handling and dragging, plus the leash...

However, for our 34 inch tall, 30 pound, not-quite 2½ year-old, it was obviously too small as soon as we opened the package.

What will the Littlelife hold? We were hoping he could carry his knit nap blanket in it, but it's necessary to literally stuff it in (the blanket is about 2x3 feet). Two or three board books, or a small lunch, or a hat and a pullover all are about the ideal sized load. And actually, that's not bad for day-tripping. But is it smaller than a bread box? Definitely -it's too small to hold an average sized loaf of bread (cut me some slack -trying to think of some common frame of reference).

I'll next try a Wildkin Pack 'n Snack Backpack, which has roughly twice the capacity. Undecided if the Littlelife will stick around (possibly in anticipation of our youngest son using it once he's of the right age and ability), or if it's going back. I definitely like everything about this Littlelife except for the capacity.

This is an adorable little backpack, perfect for my two-year-old. When it arrived I thought it would be way too small. It looked doll-sized, but when I put it on my little man it filled his back. Any bigger and I think it would be cumbersome. I was able to put his lunch and toy tractor in it and I had room to spare. The size specs on Amazon didn't seem to match the Littlelife website so I was worried Amazon was selling an older/smaller version (I don't know if one actually exists), but the bag I received seemed to match the slightly large dimensions from the manufacturers website: 4½x6¾x10¼". It is largest at the bottom and then tapers up, but that size seems to suit the body of a little toddler. Overall, I'm pleased with the size and the quality.

I bought this backpack before my son (almost 2 yrs old) and I took our first plane ride. I was worried about how to handle him and my luggage through the airport. This backpack was great! It made him feel like a "big boy" with his backpack on and I was able to keep him close to me in the busy airport. He didn't even notice that I had the strap attached to his backpack. Allowing him to walk through the airport made it so he WANTED to sit once we got on the airplane. My only "complaint" about it is I wish the handle was retractable vs the fixed vinyl strap. The backpack is big enough to hold a diaper or two, some wipes and a few snacks. It fits him just perfectly, not too big or too small, with a firm clip in the front. Very cute design! My wife and I love this little backpack. Yes it's small, very small. Prior to ordering it, I knew it would be small. When I first saw it, I was still shocked at how small it was. I guess I am just used to adult backpacks, so the size difference was startling. The size, however, is perfect! My daughter is 13 months old, 29" tall and has about 9" from her neck to her diaper, and this backpack fits her back perfectly. She enjoys wearing it, and every time we put it on her, she wants to go outside and walk around. I can't imagine my daughter wearing a larger backpack. This one is simply perfect for her.

Instead of constantly carrying around a diaper bag (that we seem to always over pack), we decided to downsize to this backpack and get by with the bare essentials while we are in places (we keep the diaper bag in the car now). We can get an outfit, wipes, 2 diapers, and a water bottle in there.

I have not had any issues with this backpack. My daughter has shown no complaints with the backpack, other than when she first started wearing it. I could see where the handle on the top of the backpack could be irritating (it rubs against the back of her head), but she has not complained about it. We do not use the leash, so I cannot attest to whether it is good or bad.

Also, I guess the animal or insect that is located on the side of the bag is random. I ordered the red one thinking that it would have bees on it. The one I have has a squirrel, so I guess you should not expect to get the same animal you see on the pictures on Amazon.

We commute to work/daycare by public transit. At one end of our commute is a 0.5 mile walk through parks and busy streets. Our son, who is now 2 years old, has become increasingly independent. He wants so very badly to walk with us rather than riding in the stroller. But expecting a 2 year old to walk that entire distance and constantly hold your hand isn't reasonable. He wants to explore, to touch the world around him, to stoop down to inspect a ladybug. The constant push and pull of trying to keep him safe when we crossed busy streets but letting him walk on his own when we're somewhere safe was taxing on all of us. Wow what a payoff!

He's thrilled to be carrying his own lunch just like mommy & daddy, we feel comfortable letting him walk beside us without having to always hold hands because the tether strap keeps him from going more than a few feet from our sides.

The pack is very well made with the same sort of details that go into an adult sized pack. The materials are of good quality with a well made zipper and beefy nylon fabric that won't wear out any time soon. The chest buckle keeps the straps firmly in place on his little shoulders as well as turning the pack into a harness that he can't get out of on his own. I looked before buying and most of the other toddler with a parent tether strap don't have the buckle to keep your kid from slipping out of the shoulder straps and taking off across a street without you. The inside of the bag is just big enough for our son to carry a 12oz kid sized Nalgene Tritan full of milk, a 12 oz insulated Thermos for his warm lunch, and a small plastic box with some fruit and pretzels in it.

Mojo 8 Bit Digital Backpack

I bought the backpack coz my 7 yr old boy likes the design. The quality looks good except the magnet for the phone pocket on the strap fell off after the first day of use. That's why I give 4 stars instead of 5.

I just received this backpack in the mail yesterday, so I haven't used it much yet, but so far I like it a lot and it seems to be a good quality backpack. It appears to be pretty sturdy without being bulky, and I think it will be pretty durable. The straps are nicely padded, there's a little pocket on one of the straps with a magnetic closure, the side mesh pockets are good for bottled drinks, keys, phone, etc. It does also have the second pocket with the organizer spaces in it, which is nice too. I would also say that the photos accurately represent the product. All around a good backpack so far!

I have the backpack version and left it in direct sunlight on a clear day for 2 hours. I repeated the same procedure the next day.

After 4 hours of charging, the removable and rechargeable battery had no charge. 4 hours should yield enough power from the surface area of

this panel to re-power a small battery on a cell phone or otherwise but this was not the case. After 4 hours of direct UVA/B light, the battery remained

uncharged. It's a handsome backpack but the cargo space is poor. The problem with this and many other products is that the battery does not

hold its charge as well. Typically, rechargeable batteries lost their charge when not in use. Once, a few months ago, I was able to get a charge... but

just once. The battery sold with this bag is typical in that it does not hold its charge. However it is atypical in that it does not charge hardly at all.

It's not worth half of its vanity price. I would want a clear return policy for any solar-powered device. This was a gift. The U.S. military has successfully

developed solar-powered field-tested flexible solar-powering sheeting and will hopefully soon share that technology with the average consumer. The sooner they

do, the less crippled we feel by the cost of expensive gasoline and fighting expensive wars. Solar power is patriotic.

I actually really this case and had no use for the handles, but I have to speak up about it. The handles are on the inside of the zipper. So to carry the case you have to zip each side zipper up to either side of the handles. I have no Idea how they got both zipper things on one side and the handles showing in the picture at the same time.

It seems this comes with a reference guide before you order it though. This is the first time i'm noticing it. I may just cut the handles out.

Otherwise, I like the sleeve.

I bought this as a gift for my sister to use with her 15" mac book pro. she uses it on a weekly basis and does a good job of protecting without being bulky.

Disney 7 Princess - A Magical Wish for a Princess 14" Backpack

This bag is beautiful and a good size for my daughter, maybe a little big, but I wanted something that will last for a few years. She's 3,5 and starting preschool in a couple of weeks and will need something to put her extra clothes or toys in. It is very well made, was happy to see that the princesses are covered with plastic and won't get scratched or dirty. It also has 5 different compartments: the main big one for large items, two in the front for small items, mesh pocket for bottle and side pocket with cover.

Shipping was fast, took only 3 days!

I purchased this for my 3-year-old to haul her stuff to and from daycare. There is a durable plastic covering over the princesses which was a nice surprise. The backpack looks a little large when my daughter wears it, but we wanted it bigger to hold her blankets and extra clothes. Overall very happy with it!

We got this back pack for my daughter for her first experience with school. She was so excited. The look of the backpack is very pretty and it seems to be put together well and will hopefully last her for awhile!!

Bought this as a Xmas gift for mt 2 year old. A little expensive but there is room inside for her to put her small toys. Plus it is durable. Loved her face when she opened it. There is a pretty on the front.

Well today I shipped my second backpack back to Amazon. The first one arrived Christmas Eve (it was supposed to be a gift) with a LARGE tear in the bottom. The second backpack arrived this week with a LARGE tear in the top. The plastic is brittle and both backpacks almost appeared to have been slashed with a box cutter. Very disspointing. Thankfully Amazon makes returns easy.

This backback is wonderful. It complies with my son's school requirements of being see-through, it is strong, and very durable.

My son started middle school this year, where clear backpacks are required. I was happy to find this one on amazon that was well rated and affordable. However, it is only the sixth week of school and my son brought it home on Friday with a huge hole in it. It's right at the seam on the bottom, which points to lack of sturdy construction.
