Here are things that can be hard to tell before you actually get it in your hands:

Construction quality is top-notch. The type you would have found in a boutique company USA made pack from 20-30 years ago. This one is made in the Phillipines.

The zippers are YKK. The smoothest & best.

The front pocket is hard to figure in photos but basically it is a pleated, huge pocket that zips on the right and gracefully carries a ton of stuff. Awesome. Better than expected :-)

The shoulder straps have fantastic padding. Super comfortable. Best I've had.

The inside "slab" pocket is like a file divider. It is best for documents, like it says. A bit snug for a 15" laptop. Not to worry as the main compartment is huge and accommodating for the size of this pack. I think it could handle 3 laptops if needed w/ no problems! Again, very pleasantly surprised by the great capacity.

The orange color is pretty bright and a tad shinier than I anticipated, but it's bold and cool, especially for SF Giants fans like *me*!

Carry handle is nicely padded.

Sunglasses can fit in top pocket (hard to see in photos) but not bigger or wider glasses. Certainly great for phone or keys or iPod though.

So far I love this pack and it appears that it should last for quite a while. Appears to be a very good value.

UPDATED: Decided to order both other colors due to some more conservative business needs. Both nice, but the blue is *stunning* and a total keeper. Orange is a lot of fun, but too bright for biz use in my opinion (keeping it though because it is really cool looking and will use for lots of other stuff).

I own several other type of Kelty backpacks for hiking/back country and have thus been very satisfied with their backpacks, specially the prices compared to Osprey and North Face.

Main reason for purchasing this backpack is for school purposes.

Pros:

Very sturdy and durable both from the outside and inside, including the stitching and zippers. Internal compartments for pencils, calculator, etc and laptop/notebook, which is great. Shoulder straps are comfortable and offer plenty of length to make adjustments. And looks and feels great, too.

Cons:

I don't like the chest and waist straps. They kind of get in the way, but I am sure you can cut them off and it would take care of this problem. Other than that, it is a great backpack.

I can see this backpack lasting for many years to come under regular use. Definitely worth the $70 to $80 investment.

The sleeve fits my 13.3 inch MacBook Pro perfectly. I had been wanting a sleeve that would fit for the longest time, and this serves the purpose just fine. The padding is adequate for carrying it around in a backpack or purse, depending on what you're going to put your laptop through; some might require more, others less. The design is vibrant and the butterfly colorful, and the zipper area is padded with a hidden track so as not to scratch your laptop. The initial smell is not the most pleasant, but I'm hoping this will fade in time. Otherwise, it's a great buy at a decent price and is a unique alternative to the typical solid color, obscenely priced sleeves that one finds at your usual retailer of such products.

This is a well-padded, tight-fitting sleeve that fits my 13" macbook pro perfectly. It's cute too, but looks a little cheaper than I expected somehow maybe the white part is a bit more gray or something? Not a big deal though, it's fine and does what I need it to and it has a butterfly on it so I'm happy.

This is a cute laptop case, I use it for a MacBook however it's a bit on the pricey side for what you get. They also have a matching shoulder bag case but that's pretty expensive as well. Very cute pattern though and the quality is good.

pretty cool bag. It holds my laptop and a bunch of other stuff without feeling too bulky like most computer bags. The expandable file pocket is great for my file folders and other paper work. Keeps them protected from the rest of the stuff in my bag. I like the accessory pocket on the front too, perfect for all of the little stuff like my business cards, pens, mouse and cables. The handles feel sturdy and the zippers are nice and chunky rubber ones so it's easy to grab and zip. Overall great bag!

Overall I like the laptop case, the extra pockets are helpful for organizing files and paperwork. The problem with the case is that I still don't get through airport checkpoints w/o removing my laptop from the case. What's the point of having a TSA checkpoint friendly case???

This bag is just what the Doctor ordered! It's well padded with plenty of compartments, pockets, & storage for any laptop user's needs! I carry extra network cables, a mouse, and removable media drives. So I have a place for all of these things with room to spare! What was real important to me is the fact that the shoulder strap connections are all metal (not plastic). A secure strap that will not break is PRICELESS in my opinion! So compared to many other bags I've seen in the $39-$79 price range, this bag is a steal! Mine weighed in at about $12, so I'm very please with this purchase!

I just received this backpack today and am writing this review in support of the product. So far so good.. It seems very sturdy and it is a little snug for my ASUS G73 17.3" gaming laptop. I am able to place the power brick, ipad, logitech gaming mouse and pads, USB external harddrive, and a 15" acer laptop inside the backpack! (I haven't tried placing a PS3 or XBOX yet, but i'm sure either console would fit in place of the 15" laptop) I didn't have any shipping issues as it came on time with a tracking number as well. I have had the backpack about a year now and it has held up somehow. It's a good bag but you can just tell teh quality isn't really there. It is also a bit uncomfortable on the shoulders but not that bad.

This bag functions in the school setting, but is extremely annoying to use. Every time you try to zip and unzip the middle compartment, the zipper catches on the extra flap of material that is built into the bag. You have to unjam it every time. If I could return this bag, I would, but I'm already using it, and will just deal with it until it falls apart. Poor design from a company that is supposed to have cutting-edge designs!

Mosey Life Convertible Backpack

This bag is beautiful inside and out. However, the straps are "slippery" and tend to fall off your shoulder. As a backpack, the straps really cut into the front on your shoulders and were too painful for me to wear that way for very long. The bag has a lot of room inside but the shape of the zipper (upside down smile) makes it a little hard to get into without using both hands.

I purchased this bag in black for the winter months. I have this same bag in another color which I used all summer. It is absolutely the best bag for my needs. There are 3 large completely independent internal compartments along with a zippered area. The organization is unmatched in any of my other bags....and I have many. The only complaint I have is that the handles are slippery when used as a shoulder bag which is how I use it daily. My solution was to order an Ameribag luggage grip, attached it to the handles and voila...no more slipping off the shoulder. The slippery handles are my only real complaint. I love it.

I got this bag for a month long trip to Greece. It was perfect and I used it the entire trip. It is so easy to change from shoulder bag to back pack...nothing to reclip.. just pull the straps. It has plenty of pockets and compartments to keep a camera handy. The size is great.. can handle all one needs for a day trip (water bottle & suncreen, etc). The material is nice and does not get too hot against your back. I like the wallet that clips inside with a little elastic "leash" because it makes it difficult to be the victim of a pick-pocket. It is rather expensive, but I was very happy with my purchase. I would love to get some other colors.

I just received this bag in black. I was looking for something that was lighter weight than the large leather bags we are carrying that are hurting our shoulders. I have crossbody bags, but sometimes they cause shoulder pain as well. This bag is attractive, not so sporty looking, plus wisely designed. The only thing that is inconvenient is that there are no handles on the one side so if you want to grab the bag to move it, you have to grab the top two sides of the bag. I think the design would be ruined if there were two handles, so i don't suggest the company do that. The inside center of the bag has a secure zippered large pocket (the bag is a generous 5 inches deep). In addition, in that section there is a nicely sized zippered pocket on one side and on the other are 2 slip pockets with see-through mesh plus a flat 6 credit card slots/zippered/slide pocket thingy attached with a strap and removable clasp. On either side of the main large pocket there is a deep pocket wide pocket (2 total) for more easily accessed items. On the outside there is a vertical zipper deep pocket and a snap tab closed smaller deep pocket for a phone and more. The whole bag is closed with a turn latch. When worn as a backpack everything is pretty secure. You can put either side against your body. The quilting is a horizontally oval design and there is leather trim that gives it a sophisticated look for a lightweight constructed bag. The metal rings where the straps slide through seem very strong. To adjust from a regular shoulder bag or hand bag, to a backpack is extremely easy. It's just a matter of sliding straps. There are 2 side adjustable, 4 hole buckles as well. Inside my black bag is a pink nylon lining that adds a nice touch and makes things easy to see. I like a bag to make logical, organizational sense and this one fits the bill. The dimensions are 13" at the widest part and 12" high.

I purchased this bag because I wanted something slightly larger than the mosey hatchback for weekends. Overall it's a great bag: it looks very cute and the convertible straps are incredibly useful.

That said, there are a few improvements that could be made. First of all, because of the way the bag is constructed the main compartment is really only about 2/3 of the height of the bag (you can see this in the side view of the product). This is probably very efficient from a manufacturing perspective but if you're carrying a bag that occupies a certain volume it would be nice to be able to actually use that space. In addition, the curve of the zipper makes it a little difficult to close with one hand and on occasion the zippers can work themselves open (I've added a small s-biner to keep this from happening). The snaps of the side compartments can also be fiddly to open and close.

So, a couple of flaws but in general I'm very happy with it.

ful Women's Brickhouse Sling Bag

This is a really well designed and very comfortable bag. I used it primarily as a daily-use bag for carrying my MacBook, powersupply and some binders to and from work. The strap is very comfortable and can be anchored on either the bottom-right or bottom-left corner of the bag for easy shoulder switching. I've used this on both my bike and scooter for around town travel too and it does a great job of staying put on your back. All and all I love the size, pocket layout and strap configuration of this bag.

Unfortunately, the workmanship and material quality is miserable. In less than two months of daily use (~ 30-45 minutes of carrying around per day) the seams tore out at the top of the bag around the "reinforcement" poly-leather that's around the strap ring as well as the stitching that holds the main compartment zipper in place. Mind you, this bag wasn't even close to overfilled and I wasn't even using one of the compartments regularly.

I've put in a replacement request with ful, hopefully they'll honor it. But it is a disappointment. None of my Swiss Gear/Wenger bags has given me problems like this and they've been through a hell of a lot more abuse (air travel, urban backpacking, hiking...).

I purchased this bag to be a diaper bag. I have an active 1 year old and we like to be out and about frequently. I used to just use a tote bag but my daughter quickly learned it was easy access for snacks since it didn't have a top zipper and I was tired of how disorganized it was. So bought this bag to see if it would work even though it wasn't designed to be diaper bag. Bag is working well so far. The organizer pouch work for small items (nail clippers, kleenex, etc). The little zipper pocket on the front pouch I use for misc. items (hair clips/ties, etc). The next larger front zip is use for snacks. The large opening is divided into two areas. I use one for spare clothes and the other is for miscellaneous items depending on the outing. since it was designed as a computer bag, the large opening also has two velcro pouches I use one for diapers and one for wipes. keeps them easy to access and organized. I'm only 5'2", but the bag isn't as overwhelming as most diaper bags. I tried my hubby's messenger bag (which is designed to be a diaper bag for him) but it was too huge and got in the way walking through stores. I wish this were a little smaller but I'm sure the size will be appreciated later. Construction so far seems good. The color is very vibrant. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the front zip organizer pouch only zips one way and it's such that it opens from the bottom first so anything loose can fall out making that pouch not useful for loose items hence the need for the little zip pouch in front I guess. But, if the zipper just opened the other way it would be more functional. And, the water bottle pocket is really tight I only put in 1/2L bottle and it's a tight squeeze (might be better as it loosens with use).

I bought this bag in October, giddy because I needed a bigger sling bag I find them much easier to buckle over a winter coat than the standard backpack design but this morning when I tried to tighten the strap, a piece cracked off and went flying across the room. For one dinky little piece, my bag is now kaput.

UPDATE: I emailed Ebags, who forwarded me to Ful, and I emailed them requesting a replacement buckle. It seems there was a 1-year warranty, and they sent me a new one, no charge whatsoever!

Extremely handy "man bag" for the pool and errands. I got this because I've had and loved my bigger Ful sling for my noteand netbooks for a couple of years now. Problem is the stitching that joins the shoulder strap to the clip separated because it was poorly done. I'm going to install a rivet or a snap to make sure it doesn't happen again. If I weren't biased by my very favorable impression of my other Ful product I'd probably be less charitable about this one.

I needed a new bag with the four wheels that you can push easily. Bingo, it has worked perfectly for several trips. The color is just as pictured a vivid light turquoise blue, even my 10 and 5 year old grand daughters took notice. It is not very big, however it works nicely for enough clothes for three days. The two outside compartments are handy. It has some waterproof pockets inside. Most of all it pushes easily! That's why most of of have made the switch. I give 5 stars all around because this product is beautiful! Never thought I would describe a backpack as "beautiful"... but it is! The pink is sharp. And the sequin stars and bow are kind of puffy to the touch. They appear to be very well sewn on. Even with rough handling, I bet the sequins will hold up well. The stitches and seams are tight, the zipper runs smoothly and the straps are padded. The backpack is a licensed product of Hello Kitty, which means it would be of great quality. The size is perfect for elementary school students, or big kids who don't haul 500 pound books around in their packs. (It's not really deep, like one of those super dee duper huge backpacks from Columbia or LL Bean.) But it is large, fits full-sized folders and notebooks with room to spare. I am sure you could carry 3 good sized texts in this. I'm merely guessing because my daughter is only in kindergarten:)

This bag is used (not too gently) by my kindergarten-age daughter. It's holding up very well, holds all of her school stuff and a lunch box, and she loves it.

Dakine Girls Crystal Back Pack

Between grade school, college, and post-grad, plus commuting in the city, I have owned a LOT of bags and backpacks. I've had this one for about 3 months, and it wins the award for Best Overall, hands down. Here's why:

1) High-quality zipperswe've all seen bags that seemed pretty much fine until you had to zip them open and closed in a hurry and they suddenly caught (seemingly on nothing) or were just not smooth-sounding; you knew it was just a matter of time before they became a problem. The zippers on this backpack are not only silky smooth, but they're stitched with a perfectly even protective edge of fabric over them to things from getting caught in them, and to minimize leaking from rain. They feel really heavy-duty.

2) Tough stitchingI have yanked on the handles of my bag a million times with it overfilled with everything from books to groceries, and the area where the handles connect with the body of the bag does not show the least bit of wear. Not pulled threads, no loosening, nothing. It's as solid as the day I bought it. Even the hanging loop at the top, which looks too small to handle such a heavy bag, has withstood the test of having my bag hanging from it, with at least 20 pounds of junk inside, for hours at a time, without showing the slightest bit of wear.

3) Durable fabricI'm not sure what kind of fabric this is made from, but it's not your ordinary nylon or canvas. It feels extremely thick and heavy, almost like it's been coated with something to make it water resistant or stain resistant or something. It makes me think more of luggage material than a backpack.

4) Great use of spaceIt looks super sleek and compact, but there's a LOT of space inside. I have a 15" Macbook Pro that fits in here perfectly, and there's so much room left even with my computer inside. I especially love the small pocket right on the top of the bag, it's lined in fleece (ostensibly for sunglasses, though I never use it for that), and it's the perfect place to stick your keys, small wallet, cell phone, ipod, or whatever. It's a small thing, but I LOVE that little pocket.

5) Unbelievably comfortableI don't know who they had to sell their soul to, but these designers have FINALLY nailed the perfect formula for a comfortable backpack. I have a big chest and a long commute, and I often travel with this thing packed to the absolute limit, and it has NEVER been a problem. The weight is distributed so perfectly that you hardly remember you're wearing it a lot of the time, it doesn't pull on your shoulders or dig under your arms at all. I honestly can't believe how comfortable it is.

6) It's so pretty! I got mine in Flourish, the black-on-black damask design, and it's a lovely, subtle pattern that really has it's own unique look without being too loud or tough to match with if you're wearing it throughout different seasons with different coats/hoodies. The shape of it keeps it from looking bulky, even when it's super-full, and it just has a really sleek, stylish look.

I can't recommend this bag highly enough. If anything ever happens to this one (like it getting run over by a train, because I honestly can't think of any other force strong enough to make a dent in it), I will buy another one in a heartbeat. I might actually buy another one in a different pattern just for the sake of variety, that's how much I love it. I will never buy any other brand again, anyone thinking about giving Dakine a try, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

This product is amazing! I was expecting something to be wrong with it since they sold it 40 dollars cheaper than the normal asking price, but it is brand new and perfect! I have a 17.3 inch laptop and it hhas no problem fitting in the main pocket, I can even squeeze it into the laptop sleeve, even though its only meant for 15 inch ones. All in all, money WELL spent!

I just received this backpack in the mail today and its more than I could have ever hoped for, especially for such a low price!The shape of the backpack is very comfortable and appears compact while on but it has tons and tons of room inside. It also has some awesome small features. The small pocket at the top as well as two of the pockets in the small compartment (for sunglasses, cell phone, camera, etc) are lined with very soft velvet-like fabric to prevent your belongings from scratching. the two open compartments in the front of the backpack have a rougher lining to prevent items from slipping out. The stitching is very high quality and the design is very pretty. It also comes with a cute little pouch. Its going to be absolutely perfect for organizing and carrying all my things around campus. would suggest it to anyone!

I ordered this backpack because the one I was using previously was starting to wear down and get holes in the bottom. I've got to say that I'm very happy with my purchase! I love the small pocket at the top and use it store keys, gum, and sunglasses. The pockets on the outside are great for stuffing something in quickly. The interior has plenty of room for notebooks, textbooks, and my laptop. I'd say the only thing that's missing is an exterior pouch to store a water bottle, but there's plenty of room on the inside, so I don't miss that too much. I highly recommend this backpack to any students looking for a good-sized, comfortable backpack with a nice design!

I just bought this recently for school and am so excited for the first day. It is the MOST I have EVER spent on a backpack but it's so worth it. The outside is weather proof, which is really useful when caught in a rain storm or similar. I tested the outside by pooring water on it and the water just bounced right off onto my shirt. The inside is very roomy with slots for laptop, tablets, and pencils. The laptop slot is lined with some really soft blue fur to provide extra protection. I absolutely love the entire feel of this backpack! And it holds its shape no matter how much or how little I put in. The colors are just as they appear in the picture, though I kind of wish I went for the red version, my personal taste. The bag is sturdy, comfy, and I believe it's an investment that would last years to come.

The only con I would say was the delivery. It took over a week with USPS and the tracking number didn't show any updates until I actual recieved the backpack in mail. It drove me insane to not know where it was!

This is a great backpack, the price was very reasonable and the size of the backpack a perfect for an average highschooler. One issue is that it is black, so it is very noticeable when it becomes dirty or dusty.

For kids who do not have a lot of books is the perfect size. I believe more than 3 2 inch thick books will make it too full. Construction feels sturdy but we will see!
