The North Face Hot Shot

The North Face Hotshot Backpack BlackI received this bag a year ago as a present, and it's still holding up strong. I'm known to load up my bags when I'm running around, and this thing can handle basically anything. I really like that it doesn't look bulky when you put a lot of things in it, and it won't make you think it's going to rip at any minute. As an extreme case, I periodically put my 15lb bowling ball in it when I want to have it with me, and the bag doesn't strain at all. The straps really give that added support that will keep the bag from stretching out of shape. I looked for the same support as this bag in cheaper options, but nothing came close to giving the same back support. You can barely tell when you have something heavy in it.

The Northface just makes QUALITY products. I'm a full time worker/student/bike rider. This thing has it all. Fits my needs and makes me look coolER at the same time. Lol

I'm a full-time college student, so I carry with me a lot of stuff as big books, scholar supplies, notebooks, laptops, cellphone, MP3, tablet and other electronic device. As you may guess, I don't have space in pockets to take all of that, lol. And a simple backpack wouldn't work. So I bought this new backpack. It is great, I like it. All my stuff fit very well. It protects all my stuff of damages and weather.

An amazing thing is that with all my stuff inside, this backpack doesn't look full-like, it doesn't look like a backpack full of a lot of things. It stays normal. In addition, it looks great modern. It is a nice backpack.

It was a great purchase and with a lot of pockets and space. I recommend to buy this backpack.

Stephen Joseph Girls 2-6x Quilted Backpack Turtle

Stephen Joseph Girls 2-6x Quilted Backpack Turtle,Hot Pink/Lime Green,One SizeSuch an adorable purchase.

For our 2 year old for preschool.

Great for this age (1-4)

I bought this bag for my granddaughter as a preschool book bag. She loved it! She carried it all year. Stuffed it full to bursting everyday. I was concerned the seams will come apart but, to my delight they held up well and she is now through preschool and has started kindergarten and this is now her overnight bag when she comes to my house. She is still stuffing it full to overflowing and it still has maintained its shape and holding up nicely. Looks like I just bought it!!

This backpack has no compartments. The one little outside pocket is small. The fabric is very thin, which is lightweight, but won't be able to hold anything rigid well. It does not sit well on the child when there's nothing/little inside. Functionally it's only good as a fashion accessory. The only reason for 3 stars is because it is REALLY cute...almost kept it for that but needed a functional backpack for a trip and the price is not worth keeping just for show.

Blue Lounge Design Bonobo Series Large Tote for 15/17-Inch MacBooks and Laptops (US-LT-01)

Blue Lounge Design Bonobo Series Large Tote for 15/17-Inch MacBooks and Laptopsthere's nothing really negative about this bag. it's larger than i expected, and the material isn't as nice as i expected either. if it was less expensive i'd probably say it's a good deal, but i feel like at it's price point there are alot of useful, well-designed, and nicely-made vertical bags to choose from.

i still have it and use it very occasionally.

Disney Princess Sling Bag Party SuppliesI got this for my 3 yr old to go to Disney. When I got it it was on special for pennies and it's worth more. It holds enough for my daughter and for what it is it's sturdy enough.

Just like that, I bough it for my 5 year old, so she could bring a toy while in the airplane when we went to Guatemala, she was able to carry a few crayons and a thin coloring book. but dont wash it or u lose it. pretty nice for the value.

Humvee 3-day Assault Pack, 22x16x12 I, Black HMV-GB-03BLK

Humvee 3-day Assault Pack, 22x16x12 I, Black HMV-GB-03BLKthe quality of the main bags material is good, however the straps and zippers are poor, had this pack for 2 weeks and one of the straps started to fray, the padding and material of the main shoulder straps is low quality. the straps are so slick that it is impossible to carry with one strap only even briefly, it is very large but i doubt it would hold up to much use fully loaded. I ended up requesting a refund and choosing a different manufacturer.

Winnie the Pooh Small Backpack - Winnie the Pooh Small School Bag (Blue)

Winnie the Pooh Small Backpack - Winnie the Pooh Small School BagI have now attempted to purchase this back pack from Amazon twice. Both times I received the wrong item. The warehouse bin is obviously stocked incorrectly because the bin label on the back packs I received both said they were the blue back pack. Both times they have been the same pink one.

Amazon customer service has been as helpful as possible. However, the first time it happened they told me there would be a bin check and I could reorder in a few days. Apparently it doesn't happen quite that fast.

My son loves this back pack. My only complaint is that the water bottle mesh pocket is too small most of his water cups. Overall perfect size for a toddler.

DAKINE Girls Laptop Messenger Bag SM

Dakine Girls Messenger Bag SM - Plush Plaid / CharcoalThe colors on this bag are really vivid & it is a great messenger bag. I tried to use it as a purse at first & it is just too large to use as one. Then I tried to use it as a diaper bag & the way the bag is organized just doesn't work too well for this. Use it as it is intended (as a messenger bag) & it is a great bag.

Timbuk2 Amnesia Laptop Backpack

Timbuk2 Amnesia Laptop Backpack, Gunmetal/Blue/Black, MediumI've had this backpack for a few weeks now and it was great both for flying across the Atlantic and for everyday use at the university. The organizer within the lower pocket is sufficient for me, with slots for three pens/pencils plus another four smaller pockets for erasers, wallet, phone, keys, whatever, and then one big zippered pocket.

In other reviews of Timbuk2 bags I'd read about there being some weird foam roller thing in the bottom of the laptop compartment which made it so that your laptop would have to go in the pocket in a certain way or else it would be uncomfortable. Fortunately this design is absent from the Amnesia bag, and I've been able to throw my 13" laptop in there any which way and it is always perfect, even when biking.

The smaller top pocket is padded so you could also put your cell phone or other electronics in there without worrying about it getting scratched up.

The water bottle holder easily fits a 32 ounce Nalgene bottle, which is very handy. Some might like to have more than one bottle holder but for me, this is just fine.

The helmet lops seem to work great too and I don't really worry about my helmet (or bike lock) coming out.

The bag is very comfortable, even when I put in my laptop, a nice big 800 page textbook plus two smaller books, a cable lock for my laptop, a notebook, pens, pencils, etc. with still plenty of room to spare for a light jacket, lunch, or whatever.

Overall I'm very impressed with the bag, and I expect to have it for a long time. Nice job, Timbuk2!

---UPDATE 1-20-2013 ---

While reviewing something else I saw this one again and thought I'd update to say that now, 8 months later, the bag is still in great shape and holding up exceptionally well. Still no complaints here!

Well Ive been using the bag for two days commuting 6 miles each day with it. It hold my tennis shoes, laptop, textbooks, pens and pencils, and my flat kit. I love this pack, it stays incredibly steady while riding and distributes the weight very well. Its light and comfortable as all get out. Plus the blue matches my bike haha. THe bottle opener is awesome as well. THE WATER BOTTLE POCKET DOES HOLD A NALGENE!! this pack is one of the few Ive found that actually fits a nalgene bottle. I would highly reccomend this to anyone who bike commutes. its amazing.

ps. the helmet straps work wonderfully too.

Buy Timbuk2 Amnesia Laptop Backpack Now

I bought this bag to replace my Timbuk2 Superbad pack. I loved how spacious it was, but the straps were killing me. I attend University and have some heavy books and have to tote my computer around a lot. So I was looking for some more padding. I looked at various other brands, but I am really fond of Timbuk2 for their durability and materials.

I bought the Amnesia Daypack and have been using it for a little less than a week and its excellent so far. The straps are padded sufficiently, it might not seem like they are when you first put it on or touch them but its just the right amount. The padding on the back is EXCELLENT. I can carry my French book, 5 subject notebook, three or four smaller books, my laptop and a jacket comfortably.

This pack is very tall! It might be uncomfortably tall for some. I'm about 5'6" (female) and have a long torso and it is fine for me. This is great because you can put things on top of your books (like workout clothes and other things.

A note about the laptop compartment-you can only access it from the side zipper. So far I haven't had any problems with the zipper slipping but it could be since it zips up and not down. You can not put the laptop in from the main compartment, but I don't find this to be an issue. The pencil pouch at the top, if filled, can make the laptop sag a little. The helmet loops are great for attaching even a heavy lunchbox. The velcro pocket fits a Macbook Pro charger comfortably without gouging out too much.

Overall, excellent backpack! 5/5 stars, can't think of anything to change. Feel free to comment with questions and I'll try to answer.

I've used the Timbuk2 for about 2-weeks now, including as a commuter bag during riding my bike to work and now as a commuting bag to the airport for a three day trip. The fit is nice. It would be nicer with a waist strap. The front pockets are pretty good with inside and outside pockets to secure items. I did not use the helmet straps but they seem robust and would work well. the color and material is nice as well. Finally the laptop pouch is great. I have a 15" Lenovo that fits perfectly and it holds it secure and because it is separate of the main chamber it allows maximum filling of the pack as a whole.

Unfortunately on the way to the airport, the pack strap broke threads pulled out of the adjustable ring attach point on the right shoulder. there was no abuse that caused this nor was this because I overloaded the bag. the threads must not have been terminated properly and they pulled out. I am glad I had already shouldered it on my left arm as I would have possible caused damage to my laptop. So be sure to inspect the threads/sewing on the straps where they attach to the adjustable rings give them a pull and make sure it doesn't come undone!

Want Timbuk2 Amnesia Laptop Backpack Discount?

I've had the Timbuk2 Amnesia backpack for a little over a year now (since December of 2011) and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. After only one year of use at university carrying minimal weight the majority of the time, it is fraying on the right side. The stitching on the water bottle holder is also coming undone and it now has a small hole in the seam. The "rubbery" coating on the bags interior is also peeling off. For what I paid and Timbuk2's supposed reputation, I expected it to stay in better shape.

My main gripe with this bag is its lack of pockets. Not including the internal computer sleeve, it has one front organizer pocket, the small top pocket, and the interior itself. I rarely put things in the actual organizer panel within the front pocket, save maybe a few pens. I find everything else is hard to reach, especially given the bag is floppy and falls over constantly. I usually just drop things in there, as the side zip and velcro flap make using this as anything but a stash pocket annoying. I like the top pocket for keeping pens and things; it is easy to reach with the bag next to you, although the bags inability to stand up on its own sometimes spills the top pocket's contents everywhere.

The bag has a side-access laptop pocket, which is well-padded. I like it very much, although as someone who is handicapped, the side zipper is more annoying than helpful. It also has a fabric sling in the bottom which keeps your computer from hitting the floor when you drop the bag. Other than these pockets, the bag is one huge bucket. For some people this may work, but for me, it means I have to fight with my things. Once I load the bag up with school books and binders, the only space left is above them. I can lay things on top to fit more in the pack, but then I have to pull all those things out to reach my books. I would have preferred two sections to put things in.

Otherwise, this is a nice bag. The laptop compartment is nice, the straps and back padding are comfortable, and the addition of a bottle opener on the strap is neat. I haven't really used the "ears" because I don't need them, but they stay shut nicely and do not get in the way unused. I just dont think Timbuk2 quality is what it used to be, and I hear they have since moved their production out of the US, which is sad. Timbuk2, thanks for the nice bag, but I will be buying my next one from a real "Made in the USA" company.

Yens® Fantasybag Urban sport sling pack-Red,SB-6826

Yens® Fantasybag Urban sport sling pack-Red,SB-6826I was looking for a replacement to my everyday messenger bag and really wanted one with an adequate phone compartment. What definitely sold me on this item was the pocket shoulder strap. It's padded for comfort but it keeps my phone where I can see it and not in some side pocket on the bag. The strap pocket is big enough to carry the average sized smartphone. There are also 2 smaller side pockets and a mesh for other stuff like a water bottle. If you like dozens of compartments though you might not like this bag. In total there really is only 5 compartments (including the shoulder strap). The two larger main pockets are right on top each other which is a bit awkward. and the capacity isn't the kind you can carry lots of stuff and a laptop. I wish there was an inner pocket in the main compartment but it gets the job done and the clip on both sides makes it easy to switch the way you might wear it over the shoulder. In all a comfortable medium sized messenger bag that can adjust to the way you like to wear it.

I bought this bag because I was tired of lugging a backpack everywhere on my hybrid bike. this bag fits really well around my body and sits very close to the back. It holds enough stuff, but dont expect to lug a ton of items.. it easily holds my lunch, my tablet, and other smaller items. Zippers are high quality. this is important b/c i am in/out of it all the time. Colors are good. Great price/Great prod

Sierra Designs Jubilee 50 Women's Backpack

Sierra Designs Women's Jubilee 50 BackpackI bought this pack elsewhere, for less, but that site doesn't provide a place for reviews. I've owned it for almost a week, and I still cannot decide whether I will keep it. As I am petite and small-framed, I do need a pack designed specifically for women. But Sierra Designs has seemed to want to reinvent Backpacks, just for women, with this particular design. I will first discuss the things that I definitely don't like. Firstly, the clips I find that they are too small and very hard to use. It's hard to get a good hold of them, and depressing them to release requires a lot of pressure from the tips of your fingers, which is awkward. They are rounded and streamlined so that the spring release part is not that well differentiated from the rest of the clip, and somehow requires a lot more pressure to depress less distance than a normal sized clip. One of the clips, just below the zipper, which holds the "super-size-me" pocket closed, is nearly impossible to get open because the body of the clip is affixed solidly to the pack material itself (and not from even the shortest of straps. So you literally have to use your finger tips to attempt to get it open. Add to that the slightest bit of fingernail, and forget it! It's a struggle, and I finally conceded that I would just have to lengthen the strap to access the pocket, rather than open that clip. But what if that clips breaks? how can it be replaced when it is mounted onto the pack body? My other peeve is with that same pocket. I've noticed that many of the packs for women now have this large outer pocket which has a clip and not a zipper, so that it is completely open to the elements. I don't get it... what should I keep in there? My fleece? My map and guide book? I hike in New England it's wet often.

Things I'm undecided and unsure about are 1)the highly molded hip belt and lumbar/back supports. I keep trying it on, filled and empty, and I can get it to feel OK, until I bend over. I guess it just might take getting used to but what if I can't? 2) the exposed central stay: I guess it's just bizarre seeing the internal mechanics of a pack exposed, and I wonder whether it'll increase the chances of the stay getting damaged. 3) A minor issue, but why must all women's packs come in girlie colors?

Things I do like: the way it fits around my shoulders, the support of the pack on my hips. The bottom isn't flat, which at first I wasn't sure about, but it does bring the weight higher up to the middle of the back which is good.

Things I would have liked: compression cord on the outside; clips that are easy to manipulate and use; more external pockets that CLOSE with zippers or that have flaps and clips. Traditional styling, yes but I don't agree that because one redesigns a pack to FIT women, that it has to abandon the tried-and-true features that make a pack user-friendly.

In all honesty, though I change my mind about it several times a day and have left the tags on just in case, I will probably keep it. If I had paid any more than I did ($99), It'd be going back. Hopefully it'll grow on me.

Happy trails!

Dickies Venice Backpack

Dickies Luggage Venice Backpack, Neon Stripe, One SizeI can't believe that I got this backpack for the price that I did! It was very cheap, but the backpack isn't! Like most Dickies products, the backpack is very durable and well-made. I bought it for a first grade child and it is the perfect size. It isn't too small and it isn't too big. It fits her well. I fully expect that it will hold up over an entire school year and most likely, even longer. The bottom portion of the backpack is thick, which is nice, because a lot of backpacks tend to tear or rip at the bottom. The zipper is great. It is really smooth and doesn't stick easily. This backpack is definitely worth my money!

I needed a backpack that could provide in TE way my previous bag had (a bag I'd owned for over 12 years). This bag is good: lightweight, one large pocket and two small ones not complicated. My only concern is that the material seems thin so I wonder how it will hold up. It's been a month and a half so far and I have no complaints.

15.4 inch Purple Sparse Floral Laptop Notebook Padded Compartment Shoulder Messenger Bag

15.4 inch Purple Sparse Floral Laptop Notebook Padded Compartment Shoulder Messenger BagThis bag is great. It has tons of space, lots of pockets to organize things, and is a beautiful color (although it does get dirty easily). I bought this for my 15.4" Toshiba laptop, and let's just say, its a tight fit. I basically have to shove the computer in there. The description says it fits up to 15.4" laptops but just know, its really meant for a smaller size laptop, as mine just barely fits.

Perfect for travel. Throw my laptop which has an acrylic colored hard cover and a soft neoprene sleeve in the bag and with the 3 it's all the protection my computer needs. Has plenty of room to include my Kindle, iPOD, and whatever else I want to put in it. Not to mention it's stylish too.

This bag does the job. However, I expected it to have stronger strap support since it can hold a larger size laptop. Also, the top opening is a draw-string and I would have preferred a zipper (I did not look close enough at the product description before ordering it). The design is cute, but a little on the kiddish side.

Gasoline Alley Backpack

Gasoline Alley BackpackThis is a nice backpack, and seems to be well made. There is a little padded pocket inside the main compartment for a cellphone or small camera. The only thing about it is that it's heavy canvas. Even when empty it seems heavy. I didn't realize this when I bought it. We keep it around the house for random use, but for my kids for school I got lightweight ripstop nylon backpacks.
