I bought one of these for my Macbook Air 2011 and I can say the following:

1. Visually its impressive. The Faux Leather looks and feels like the real deal. I was worried about putting any case on my Air as I didn't want to detract away from it's appearance. No worries on this point. The case actually makes my Air stand out from the rest.

2. Quality Although I haven't had the case for more than a week, I expect it to last for quite a while (and if it doesn't, another 18 bucks buys a new one).

3. Protection I'm sure there are other cases that can protect your air better than this one, specifically the clamshell type cases that snap around it to cover it completely. That being said, this case will protect the top and bottom extremely well. When the case is closed, only the left and right sides are exposed (the benefit here is that all the ports are open even when the case is closed). This is not an Otter Box, so if your expecting to be able to drop your macbook air from 10 feet, this case may not be for you. I can tell you though that having this case on here gives me a large degree of comfort knowing that the surfaces of my laptop are protected from scratches and nicks...

4. Wrist Rest When I purchased this case, I didn't realize it had this feature. The wrist rest is built into the case (the bottom part of the Mac Air slides into it). It has a cutout to expose the trackpad (which is fully functional) and is made of thin faux leather. I think it's not there for comfort, but rather to protect the Mac Air where your wrists rest. I know I've had several laptops that lose their luster there from repeated use and I was happy that this case will help keep my Air looking good for years to come.

5. Stand Built into the bottom of the case towards the back there is a pop-out stand. I assume this is to prop up the laptop when using it on a desk to help keep your hands in a "ergonomic" position. I very rarely use my Air at a desk (writing this review from my couch), but I tried it out and it was able to hold the laptop up even while typing a long email. Again, I wasn't expecting this, so I view it as sort of a bonus like the wrist rest.

6. Price I mean come on...it's 18 bucks and free shipping (if your a Prime subscriber). I was seriously considering buying the $79 Book Book case before I saw this one and decided that for the price I'd give it a shot. I'm SO glad I did.

This is my first review of anything I've ever purchased on Amazon (been buying here for 5 years or so) so that ought to tell you something. Oh...and I bought a second one for my wife's 2010 Macbook Air as well.

This might come off a bit harsh. This is not a bad cover, but it does have a few drawbacks. First thing to remember is almost all of these covers even the cough cough PD..... come from China or Korea.

I selected it over the more expensive ones because most are just ripping you off. A 11.6 Macbook Air cover should not be costing more than $50 maximum.

That aside I am using this cover as I type this. As for the external quality of the cover it is pretty good.

Now the few things that ding it as far as rating goes are

1. The little flap on the bottom used for ventilation and propping it up when it is on a desk, does not always stay closed after use. This could be improved. You have to press it in and hold it to make it close, it will still droop down sometimes.

2. Is how it fits on the Air. The Palm rest area slides into the cover and it is not quite a snug fit, not bad but not snug. This is manifest as well when you close the cover. it tends to expose the back corners of the Air until you physically push the air in slightly or push the top of the cover back. In a travel situation when you are in a hurry this could be a problem. As the rear corners of your laptop would be exposed.

I suspect that the $50 faux Suede covers fit more snugly. I can say for $20 delivered it was worth the money. I am not entirely disappointed give that. If I had paid more? I might be more upset.

There are not a lot of options overall for Macbook 11.6 Air in Leather or Leather style covers. In fact most options are in the $100 range.

The bottom line here is for the money, its not a bad cover, not perfect not completely terrible either.

I am sure there are people out there saying you get what you pay for. Though In terms of manufacturing, none of these covers cost a lot a to make. Unless the cover is imported from Italy, or hand made here in the States, it should not be costing you in the $100 range.

I was concerned about getting this but needed a case quickly for my macbook air and so I went for it. I love it. It fits so nicely in the case, I don't feel like it adds much bulk or weight to it and it feels well protected. The little flap that snaps it closed tucks under easilyno problem at all. I never have used that back flap that you can prop the computer withI guess I was a little worried when someone said it might not fit back as snugly as it does now. I have not needed it at all. It looks really nice and has done a great job protecting my new computer from my kids grubby little fingers. I really like the suede like pads which sit where your hands rest. I think this is one of the best features. It really protects your computer from the constant wear of your hands. I would buy another if this one fell apartbut it seems so sturdy I don't see that happening anytime soon. I highly recommend this case. And this is my first ever Amazon Review.

Marc Gold 17" Burgundy School Backpack

I loved the burgundy color and the sizenot too big, but still fit what I needed for classes. However, because I was using it to carry books and for light travel, after two months the seam on the side ripped and the handle on top came off. Easy to fix, but annoying.

Dabbawalla Backpack

The back pack is very nice looking but the shoulder straps are not very good.

The shoulder strap are very badly design. The bag has 2 holes on each side of the bag, they are placed closer to the bottom of the bag to allow the straps loosely go through from inside of the bag.

This might be great in theory, but in practice when a child uses it, the bag moves from side to side and it makes the strap longer or shorter each time the bag move a little.( It is very uncomfortable for the child)

Also the 2 holes at the bottom of the bag are so big that if you happen to place a fork or spoon inside the bagDabbawalla Lunch Bag, Holy Cow, it will slip though the holes and when the child need to use it, it won't be there.

The product looks nice and I am happy that it is PVC free. However the product was stated to have dimensions of 14 x 14 x 6. Because of this I had expected it to be big enough to easily hold a standard 8 1/2" x 11" notebook even with the rounding that occurs at the top of most backpacks. I am very disappointed that a standard notebook barely fits and in some cases the backpack may cause the corners to bend. It might just be functional for its intended use as a backpack for pre-school and kindergarten.

On physical inspection, the interior measurements of the backpack without contorting it are 10"w x 11 1/2"w (at center) x 6". To get those 14" dimensions, I needed to flatten, stretch, or otherwise distort it well beyond its natural shape. Counting the top loop at its fullest extent is also useful to get that 14" height. Amazingly, the 6" depth appears to be accurate.

In terms of quality, the materials and sewing looks adequate. I can see how it would be possible for small objects to fall out through the small gaps where the back straps go through the bottom of the pack.

This bag is a great size for my (3T wearing) 2 year old. The length-adjustable straps are nice, and we added a carabiner clip across my son's chest to make sure the straps don't slide off of his shoulders when he has a full backpack. The soft neoprene is very comfortable for my son; it's not rigid at all. The backpack is roomy and the neoprene keeps fruit and snacks cool. I'm about to use this as his lunchbox this week with an ice pack and I expect it will work just fine.

We get stopped everywhere by people wanting to know where we got this backpack. It is much cuter in person than in the pictures and my son absolutely loves it. I couldn't be happier with the looks, the size or the usefulness. It's not cheap, but it keeps things cold, has plenty of room for toys and books, and is machine washable. What more can you ask for?

While the sleeve itself is OK considering the quality, etc, it does not meet the specifications for Acer Timeline 14" notebooks listed (8471 et al.). While these are wide-screens (and thus of specific body dimensions) and also very thin (which is among their major features), the Duragadget sleeve I have had is rather suited for the 'regular' notebooks considering the body dimensions and thickness. As a result, the sleeve is just hanging very loosely, with almost an inch extra for all directions. Something I could have at home without ordering overseas.

This is my second laptop order for this laptop bag. I bought one for my son, and then nephew. My son has a Asuz G73 gaming laptop. Its pretty large! It is 17 inches wide (not sceen size,the screen is larger) by 13 inches tall and about 2 inches thick. You will not find a bag elsewhere to fit it. So, my advice to you is, dont take chances on smaller bags, get this bag if you have a 17+ inch wide laptop. It has a velcro divider inside. This is adjustable to snug up the laptop on one side and some magazines and paperwork on the other half. Also there are two sewn in pouches on the inside. They are always open. Good for carring DVDs or other media, and peripherals. The interior padding is adequate for bumps and banging around. The outside front of the bag has a large velcro sealing, divided double pouch, and is good for carrying a power supply, corded mouse, mousepad, etc. I also use this front pouch to tuck the shoulder strap into when not using it. The back of the bag has a similar pouch but zippered. It comes with a decent shoulder strap and has a pretty nice rubberized handle that locks together. The outer material is made of a tightly woven nylon. It has two rubberized pads on the bottom that it sits down on when on the floor. The bag looks very nice and doesnt look cheap or lame to carry. I like this bag alot, and I dont think you will find anything else out there this nice for the money. Its a good deal! You wont be dissappointed.

This is a very good looking bag. It is well-padded. The only issue is the handle for holding. It is just heavy plastic. It could have been padded for more comfort to carry a ten pound laptop. BUt if you are going to wear it over your shoulders, you won't have any problems. Overall it is what you'd expect.

I've had this bag for two years now, bought it for my Qosmio X505-Q860, and(believe it or not) have carried it to college with me, in this bag, every day since I got it. It's durable, it's got plenty of padding, and has extra room for accessories, documents and some school/office supplies. It was also the only bag I could find at the time that was big enough for the Qosmio line, but it's definitely been worth its weight in computing.

Word of advice though: don't buy an 18-inch laptop for school. Just don't. Put it on a desk and just leave it there. Buy this bag if you need to move it somewhere, but otherwise, just leave it alone. Your back will thank you.

Nicely padded case for my laptop with divided sections and 3 inside pockets, several outside zippered pockets. You can adjust the inside padding to hold your laptop securely so it doesn't move. Actually holds quite a bit of extras like file folders and books -so it can get quite heavy but the shoulder strap is secure. The 2 handle straps have a rubber snap together handle that makes it comfortable to carry. You do need to be careful about where you put stuff -one of the pockets is really a sleeve to attach your case to a suitcase handle -I know, duh. I marked mine so I wouldn't forget and accidentally cram a plane ticket down it as I'm running for the plane. Again.

All in all, after comparing it to what's commonly found in the stores, I'm quite happy with it.

I bought it because I wanted a good bad for travel. It is that. Well made with pockets galore. The only negative is the end compression straps are overkill. They only compress the end pocket. I would have liked to see them over entire bag. Or leave em off no matter. As is they just create an extra headache to access end pockets. Just my personal experience. I really like the pockets for the most part and the bag is sure to last.

This bag is very versertial it's a backpack and a gym bag in one witch is great for everyday travel useauly my gym shoes take up most of my bag size 13 but this bag is very big and has lots of space for tools, gym cloths, shaker cups, and an umbrella all stuff I cary everyday. The material also isn't very stretchy, nor is it neoprene. I had to carry it through a light rain and was very happy that the jacket seemed water resistant. If it was neoprene the water would have soaked in, not beaded off. It fits my 13 inch well. Overall, I am pleased with this product.

So disappointed to find out that this case does not fit certain Mac's as advertised. I bought this for an older model I use as a back-up. According to the specifications it should accommodate the following Apple computers:

Apple Macbook Air, Macbook Pro 13, Macbook 13, iBook G4 SuperDrive, MacBook Core 2 Duo 13.3 inch.

Case does not zip closed on an ibookG4. Otherwise it's a decent and pretty cool sleeve for the price. Wish the manufacturer would have been more honest and accurate saving myself and others the time and trouble to return and now shop for another.

I really like the way this bag looks so cute, but I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it. It started falling apart and tearing not too long after I had it. It started with the shoulder strap and now a lot of the pocket liners are tearing away from the bag :( it is virtually falling apart and i am not too sure i will even save it for another child i might just chuck it. It does have a lot of pockets on the inside tho but once you fill those up there is no room left in the center on the bag or it all goes to the very bottom and you can't see it.

This bag is so much better than the picture shows! It looks amazing in the picture, but you can't really tell how great the pockets are until you see it in person. The colors of the Felicity pattern are beautiful and the material the bag is made out of seems very durable. It also comes with the matching changing pad, detachable long arm strap, and non-slip stroller handles that are going to come in very handy.

I couldn't be more pleased with this diaper bag. It looks like a stylish purse but has more functionality than other bags I've seen which are more expensive than this one, by the way. I liked this diaper bag however it's just not the right one for me. My only problem, I packed 3 bottles, forumula, 4 diapers, a sweater, 2 burp clothes, wipes and a toy and I was really out of room. It does have lots of pockets which I thought I would love but once you put items in the pockets, it eats up the remainder of the room in the bag leaving a very small inside compartment. Maybe for the mom who doesn't need to carry so much and is only taking the baby out for a short period of time then this bag would be perfect. For me, it's just not big enough. Also, the picture on the website does not look like the color in person. Much darker in person. Not as bright as it appears on the website.

I have never wrote a review about anything that I have purchased, but I have to write something about this bag. I have 3 kids and have gone through several diaper bags. This bag is by far the best I have ever owned. Plenty of storage, lots of pockets, very cute design and not too big, not too small. In fact I have this thing so stuffed that I didn't think the zipper would zip (that's what was wrong with the other bag I had), however this thing zipped up with no problems and believe me I have it stuffed. Even with it being stuffed on the inside, I can still fit bottles on the outside...just amazing! You won't regret your purchase with this one.

5.11 Covrt18 Backpack

I am not military or LE, I simply want a backpack that doesn't advertise itself as "I'm expensive, think about robbing my owner" when travelling in foreign countries. I currently own 2 different Northface bags (typical school "book bag" types) and an Osprey Stratos 24. The Osprey is better than the Northface bags but I feel conspicuous using it my mistake really...should only be used for hiking. Size wise, this bag looks the same as the Northface

I got the 5.11 Covrt18 bag (navy) a week before I traveled to 3 islands in the Caribbean. The bag is good looking without standing out in any way. It has the standard laptop case which is fine. This bag really stands out in 3 ways from my perspective:

1) Spaciousness of main compartment

2) Weight distribution/comfort

3) Size and organization (ie functionality) of additional compartments

I stored passports, 4 days of clothing, a Canon DLSR, 2 books (1 was 1100 pages), 3 phone chargers, camera charger, snacks, earplugs, headphones, writing paper & pens. I carried this onto the plane and was able to fit it under the seat(aisle seat) with minimal shoving.

The main compartment is surprisingly big. I was able to put clothing on all 4 sides of my camera without feeling like i was crushing it. It has 2 grommeted holes on the bottom, which at first I didn't like thinking water would get in but I quickly realized I'd never put my bag down in a puddle. The holes let the lint and cruft fall out vs my other bags which require periodic upside down shakeouts. The holes are smaller than a dime so you can still toss your change wherever is easiest.

I don't understand why this bag is so comfortable compared to the others I own. Yes, the shoulder straps are cushioned but thats never bothered me. Rather, the weight seems to be better distributed? I don't feel like I need to walk hunched forward slightly and frankly forgot I had it on when standing at the airport for 6 hrs.

The northface bags have 700 zippers, straps, openings but I hated them. The Covrt18 makes perfect sense the 2ndary compartments don't 'black hole' your stuff when you need to get things out. The arrangement makes it easy to recognize which compartment you're opening. My 2 favorites are the very top compartment, lined with soft material. Perfect for sunglasses, cellphone, keys, earbuds, gum & other things that you may need to pull out frequently. The other is the 2 overlapping square compartments on the outside perfect for throwing passports in one and paper/notes in the other.

I've only had it for 2 weeks now so I can't comment on durability but have no reason to question it. Yes it is slightly more expensive than other bags but when I add up the 3 I've purchased prior to Covrt18, it's close to $200 spent trying to find the right bag. Buy the right one first.

UPDATE: July 2012

I've used this about 6 times so far and it's still in like-new condition. I haven't found any problems or 'cons' since the original review. I took it to Italy for a week and to Las Vegas for a 3 day weekend. For Vegas this was the only thing I brought fit 2 shorts, 1 jeans, pair of dress shoes, 6 shirts, bathing suit, toiletries and a kindle room for more. If you don't already roll everything for packing I'd suggest trying it out with this. The bundle method is better for avoiding wrinkles with suits and dress shirts IMO...

I wanted very badly to like this backpack. I could not have been more excited to see the UPS guy pull up today. When I pulled it out of the box, it became obvious that the quality control on these things is sub-par. While the bag itself seemed to be very functional, and all of their advertisements seemed to be accurate, several of the straps and zippers on the one I ordered were either already broken (zippers on the inside pockets, which I was able to fix after fiddling with it for about a half hour), or they broke upon their first use (the right hand elastic strap on the water bottle holder popped the first time I tried to cinch it up). I am returning this bag, and am now debating whether I should try another one or not. I was purchasing this for a trip I am going on in a week, and I just hope that I can get another unit that fast if I decide to get another one of these. I am not sure what the quality control process is for these, but it seems that it needs to be adjusted. Had I have paid half the price for this backpack, it wouldn't be a big deal, but at this price to have things breaking on the backpack right out of the box is unacceptable. Very disappointing from a backpack of this caliber...

Ok, I did indeed wind up purchasing another one, and this time with better results. I have since been to Korea, China, backpacking, fishing, and have used it at the office every day, and it has actually been a great little backpack. It is indeed laid out well, and it just adapts so well to so many different scenarios. It is also well balanced and extremely comfortable. I bumped it up a star (really wanted to give it 3 1/2, but half in not an option). The reason I didn't go up to five with it is because I am still a little concerned that I heard nothing at all from the company. In fact, I even sent them a contact through their website and nothing. The other thing I am very concerned about is that I left a similar review on the the companies website which never got posted. It is always a little shady to me when a website lets you "review" products, but the negative ones never post. This is akin to false advertisement if you ask me.

In summary, the backpack itself (second time around) is actually really good and I am glad overall that I gave it another shot. The company does not seem to be concerned with pleasing their customers (at least average Joes...maybe it would be different if I were in the service or in law enforcement...), nor will they allow honest feedback on their website's posted comments and "ratings." Again, for a backpack of this price that is in competition with other companies who offer lifetime warranties on their products, this seems like an unwise practice.

This well thought-out backpack has lots of room and many pockets for organization. The padded laptop sleeve is as good as any other backpack's; a 17" MacBook Pro will *just* fit, though the top corners are very close to the top of the bag. The side-entry pocket is great for stowing an iPad our you can use the big front pocket for the same purpose. The two small pockets on the front are perfect for small items you want to get to quickly like USB sticks, ear-buds or change. The "admin" pocket on the front-top has plenty of room for pens, business cards, small note pads and other "office supplies". The main compartment where the laptop can be stowed expands quite a bit, you could drop a 3" binder in there along with the laptop. There is no dedicated "paperwork" pocket like you find in most laptop backpacks, but you can use the main compartment or, if it's just a folder or two, a great place is the compartment that can also hold the hydration pack. The mesh zippered pockets in the main compartment are great for stowing whatever you want to carry that needs to be contained/organized.

This bag is more than just a laptop bag, it is intended to be used in the field and is just as tough as a typical day-hiking bag by one of the major outdoor bag manufacturers. On a recent trip, I dumped out all my business stuff and put in a hydration bladder, first aid kit, snacks, maps, etc and went on an all day hike. The shoulder straps and sternum strap are well designed and distribute the weight of the backpack to keep your shoulders and back from getting sore on long treks. The surfaces that contact your back, shoulders and chest are made of a semi-breathable padding to help keep you cooler and the padding on the back has a channel for ventilation. The empty weight is very light, the fabric is water repellant and most of the zippers have rain covers that keep (much)water from leaking through the zippers and into the bag. After a trip from the US to Europe then Asia and back the backpack still looks brand new and will certainly last for years. This is a great bag and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new laptop backpack.

One last comment about carrying the 17" MacBook. My laptop is in a Speck Products lexan case that will protect it from bumps, but does add about 3/16" to the dimensions. With the case, the laptop still fits fine. Because there is virtually no room left at the top of the bag, I was concerned about the top corners of the laptop rubbing on the fabric and causing wear. I put a 2"x3" patch of moleskin on each upper inside surface where this contact could occur, just in case. The moleskin has been there for over a month and shows no sign of wear and isn't trying to peel off, and there is no sign of wear on the outside of the bag.

I finally convinced my wife to let me order her a EDC bag. I did a lot of research and decided on the 5.11 COVRT 18. I read the review from J. Sutton (posted on this site) and was a little concerned however I decided to order 2 of the bags anyway. That was a mistake! Upon arrival, the one I ordered for my wife was damaged / broken. The top carrying handle was torn in two. I examined it further and it appears the handle was yanked on until it gave way and broke through the middle. The stitching around the handle was frayed and, well, it was completely sheared in two (in the middle). I've never seen a pack handle do this! This should have been caught by quality control as it was an OBVIOUS defect in workmanship and is the first thing I noticed as I pulled it out of the packaging (unless a disgruntled employee shipped it in this manner??!!). I examined the pack I ordered for me and found other frayed / loose stitching which made me nervous. I called 5.11 but was directed to a voice mail. I left two messages explaining the quality / damage issues but never received a phone call back. BOTTOM LINE: This pack is definitely sub-par when it comes to quality. I would not trust it in the field. I've heard other police officers say 5.11 has been producing gear with issues recently, but I didn't believe it until I saw it. Buyer beware! My search continues for a well built EDC pack. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I have lost confidence in 5.11's quality and customer service.

I am a firearms and CHL (Concealed Handgun License) instructor. I am constantly looking for a backpack or other way of carrying my work gear that does not look Tacticool and, therefore, broadcasts to the world "THIS GUY IS CARRYING A GUN!!" This bag is perfect for carrying all work day essentials. I have a HUGE 17" Dell laptop that fits in the main compartment perfectly. I also have a full sized Glock .45 with 2 mags, and a S&W snubby with speedloader in the velcro concealed compartment. My last backpack seemed to be so heavy, but it's stuff I use every day so I have to carry it around. I have no idea what the deal is with this backpack, but I swear the exact same load out I carried in my lst pack FEELS lighter in this backpack. I guess it's the location/spacing of the straps...not sure. But I love it. I also should mention that I'm 6'7" and have broad shoulders, and this pack fits fine (for those that find it hard to fit a good backpack).

I love the sporty, pleasant looking colors offered and love even more that it does not scream TACTICAL!
