I didn't have any of the problems of the previous reviewer. My seven year old has been beating the heck out of his pack for months now and it's still cute as ever.

I order a Beatrix backpack every fall for my six-year-old, but this is the last one I'll ever order. It completely fell apart after four months of probably less than normal wear and tear. The seam near the zipper ripped open, and I cannot sew it as it is so close to the zipper. They are the cutest backpacks on the market, but cheaply made. For $52, you expect more!

The design is very cute, and my daughter loves that the lunch box attaches and detaches. It's not the sturdiest of material and is good for only one school year, but I'm glad I chose this since my daughter is so pleased.

My 4 year old daughter loved this backpack, and the way it glitters in sunlight. It is a bit tricky for her to remove and reattach the lunchbag on her own so for now it mostly remains on the backpack throughout the day.

Very cute, my daughter likes it. I dont think it is extremely durable if you are looking for a long term backpack, it is fraying in areas but it did the job for summer camp. I like that the lunchbox attaches to the backpack and it is a very cute design.

We purchased this backpack for our daughter (fifth grade). Another older daughter has used the same one in high school. It meets the younger one's needs nicely. Nice size. Plenty of space. The high schooler has beat up hers, filling it up and it is starting to tear. But I don't know a kid who is easy on a backpack. Overall this is a nice value for the money, no need to shell out way more for a high end brand like the North Face.

Pretty good book pack, smaller size fits our 4th grader well with just the right amount of room. Live right down the street from LL Bean and have always been happy with their product but looking for a more hip less kiddie look and this was it.

Pack is comfortable and stays put when biking even though no sternum or waste belt. Construction is solid heavy nylon, lined, with oversized zippers etc.. Missing a lanyard style key clip / retainer that has always come in handy in other packs. Would also prefer padded or felt lined zippered phone pocket rather than pouch on strap.

All said solid 4 stars, really a good size, rectangular construction to fit books well and sits close to the body. Kid can stand up straight, doesn't look like it is turning him into a hunchback like his other school packs.

Most small (or smaller) photo backpacks are too small for a pro-size DSLR with a short zoom attached. This Tenba pack can carry a pro DSLR, a couple of lenses, a few filters/memory cards/whatever, and still have room for lunch. A day's expedition's worth, plus strong, durable construction with weather protection can't go wrong.

For the price tag this backpack has some serious flaws. Primarily the way the backpack straps are sewn in. They have a single line of stitching that goes in between a seam on the corner. It took a slight snag on a doorknob, and not only has the strap come undone, but now there is a large hole in the corner. I should emphasize slight, because the right yank could have done it, but I didn't even notice it until the strap came undone. Other than that the backpack holds up to it's standards things stay dry, and the zippers are very well fitted. It was a lot smaller than I expected, and it doesn't like to be stuffed. If it weren't for that strap I would have liked it, but that's just too important of a component to ignore. Oh I should add it's not the best for biking as it sits high and may interfere with your helmet.

Snugpak Bergen Pack,

I love this pack. I've taken it on several hikes and two camping trips since I bought it a month ago. It easily carries all the gear I need for summer excursions and I haven't got anywhere near filling its 100 liter capacity. I can't wait until this winter to load it with my four-season equipment and extra clothes.

A very nice design feature is that the way the bag expands upwards and not out means that when only half filled the excess fabric can be rolled up and compressed by the straps on the top flap.

An odd design feature is that the water bladder pouch is on the left wall of the pack. This means that unless properly packed the pack would lean to one side. I've remedied this by packing items that I readily need into it such as my hatchet, folding saw, climbing rope, and trekking poles. For the bladder I use a low profile pack like the CamelBak Thermobak worn between my back and the pack.

All in all the best pack I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot. I'm continually updating it; for example I've added a MOLLE utility pouch to the hip belt to store binos, flashlights, granola bars, notebooks, etc.

Other reviews are correct, this is not the real thing and is made in china. You just have to remember at 6100cu, its the largest and well priced pack on the market. I mean....if bug out happens would you rather a smaller back that is better made, or something and can shove a ton of food into. I'm looking for storage space. I can wear the same clothes over and over and keep washing them, but I can't magically make food appear. I have my survival knife and fire stuff and a ton of wilderness knowledge, I can make shelters and a decent hold over out in the middle of no where, but I can't make my pack hold more items, especially food. This pack is worth it.

1. I'm extremely worried about the stitches that join the shoulder straps to the top of the bag. I expected the classic "X" pattern bar tacks, but there are only single horizontal bars of stitches, and not very thick. This is a big bag that really needs more bombproof straps.

2. I was lead to believe this had some sort of internal adjustable frame. NOT SO! Inside the bag are sewn-in strips of webbing that form two vertical channels, apparently made to accept two aluminum stays WHICH WERE NOT INCLUDED!!!! WHAT NOW?! Am I supposed to stuff this giant bag to max capacity every single time, in order to get some rigidity?! Or am I supposed to fashion my own stays?! Or am I expected to make a bunch of complaints to get some stays mailed to me?! I do not want this giant pack sagging & pulling down on my shoulders all day long!

Meh. I think she's going back.

I purchased two of the Snugpak Bergen packs for use in packing trips. The packs themselves seem to be more than ample for carrying a full load, but the material around the top inner flaps is really badly sewn. In fact, one of the packs was torn in multiple places around the entire top. I have a seamstress that can repair it, but wanted to try and get a replacement first. The operative word being "TRY". I contacted the seller UNBEATABLE SALE, INC to find out what I needed to do to replace this item since it did arrive in defective condition. I got an email ONE WEEK later informing me that they would "check with the warehouse to see HOW THIS MIGHT BE DONE" like they didn't even know how to handle a simple exchange. 18 DAYS LATER I received another email telling me that they had no more of these in the warehouse and that I should go to the MANUFACTURER to see about a replacement. Of course (very predictably), the manufacturer sent me an email the following day after I sent them a note inquiring about this that I should "go to the company you purchased the item from they are the only ones who can replace it for you. If you'd like it repaired, you can ship it to us (at your cost) and the cost of repairing the item will be a stock fee of $100 plus our labor and any materials. We will then ship the item back to you and will charge you for the return shipping at that time".

The moral of the story STAY AWAY FROM UNBEATABLE SALE INC. Their customer service is less than professional, and they will not help you.

The pack itself gets 4 stars because of its capacity and function. The seller gets 1 star because their customer service sux!

Incase Compact Backpack, Black (CL55302)

I was at first a bit skeptical of this backpack but after reading the other reviews on amazon I decided to buy it. I will never regret it. I'm currently a University student and this backpack has everything I need. It fits three textbooks, a few spirals, an iPad and a MacBook Pro with ease. One of my favorite things about this is how well it sits on my shoulders. I walk around all day with it on my back and at times it feels like it is not even there.

The only complaint I can think of is the nylon adjustable straps. They come loose far to easily, but with a few safety pins I was able to prevent them from sliding down at all.

I love this backpack. The laptop pocket fits my 13 inch MacBook Pro perfectly, and has enough room for my textbooks/notebooks/folders. There is also an iPad sleeve/pocket. There are a few pockets on the inside of the backpack as well for USB cords, charger(s), and wireless mouse. I usually only carry the charger though, so I use the pockets for post-its, mini-stapler, etc. The thing I like the most about this backpack (next to its clean design) is the amount of padding. The bottom of the backpack is very well-padded, as well as the sides and the back. I know that even if I were to toss my backpack down, my laptop is protected... The inside laptop pocket is lined with plush faux-fur, for even more protection.

I had a JanSport backpack for years, and what I hated the most was its lack of padding to keep the backpack sturdy/standing. The backpack would sag, and to better describe it, it was more of a zippered sack to hold the contents together. The Incase Compact Backpack is a winner, esp. for students like myself. The only negative thing to this backpack is that the nylon adjustable straps do come loose easily. This is NOT to say that the strap itself will undo itself and you will have to re-insert the strap into the plastic thingamajig(?) to keep it together... Let's just say it's a bit too easy to adjust the straps. It hasn't bothered me too much though, because I'm small, and I keep the straps to its max shortest length anyhow. I've been a fan of Incase products since their first making of very first iPhone case, and yes, they're not cheap, but for what you get (style, quality, design), it's worth it... Even more so on Amazon where you can find many products for cheaper than at retail cost!

I bought this after owning a few different Incase backpacks / slings

I was hoping for something similar to my sling backpack. As a backpack, it fit well while being carried. I'm a bigger person, so the sling pack doesn't fit me well unless warn like a single strap backpack. I thought this bag would be a perfect blend.

Internal storage is lacking. My sling pack has 4 mesh pockets. Good for portable hard drive, traveling access point, and power supply. This pack didn't have enough pockets. It barely had any for carrying more than the laptop and pens. No real pocket to even hold the power supply.

Overall, the quality is good. If you don't have to carry much with it, it's fine. If you have any cables, accessories, etc., you may want to look elsewhere. One of the reviews mentioned 3 textbooks and the laptop. I'm not sure that is possible, and likely not a review for this case.

Picked up this backback as an emergancy replacement for an old PING duffle I was using after my morning shake decided to empty istelf all over the inside this morning, WHOOPS!

I decided to purchase a backpack and a seperate "wet" bag for my kickboard, pull buoy, etc.

Now to preface my review here I am an absolute bag snob. I used to skate, I used to and am now swimming, I ride motorcycles, I am into gadgets, and cameras, and video cameras, etc. etc. After acquiring the gear for all of these various activites I have learned what makes a good bag and what does not.

First and foremost for any bag purchase is comfort, position, and quality of the straps. If the strap breaks off then it doesnt matter how roomy or how many pockets a bag has. Thankfully this bag has you covered; an integrated grab handle, lightly gel cushioned straps with chest clips and a d-ring, a nylon waist strap with adjustable clip, and two seperate gel cushion for both the upper and lower back provide a comfortable and customizable fit for just about anyone. There is a "cellphone" holder integrated onto the chest straps but unless your rocking an oldschool nokia from the turn of the century then this pocket will most likely not fit your cell; especially any sort of smartphone or even a damn moto razor (to wide). I will most likely lobotomize this useless appendage as well as the waist strap which I appreciate but rarely use. One negative I can give the bag is the use of single stitching on the straps; from my days lugging around heavy skates I can tell you that double or even triple stitching is the way to go on backback straps but only time will tell if this will be a problem.

Secondary to the way a bag attaches to the user is the space and features it provides and here this bag falls terribly short. There is a divider in the main compartment but it cant fit a TYR kickboard so Im guessing its either for a laptop or just for seperation yet either of those features is unwarrented in a gym bag. The compartment for storing shoes comes up from the bottom via an externally accessible pocket and works as advertised however the goggles saver pouch and music player pockets described above do not. The pocket for the music player is a pocket inside a pocket with no grommet to feed your headphone cables through making it worthless, and why would you put an electric device into a pocket with wet goggles?? I would suggest using the cellphone pocket on the main straps but once again its to narrow for a modern ipoh touch, classic, iphone, zune, etc. although it might fit a nano. Hanging a suit from the caribiners would drag your garments across the floor behind you so, although they look useful for other things, I think the marketing department was more involved with their purposing then the engineering team. The last two pockets are on either side of the bag and can hold 2 bottle of water each however they are zippered pockets, why there is no drawstring style bottle holder is an absolute mystery to me.

All in all the bag is sufficiently large to dump your cheange of clothes into and force into a gym locker but I cant help but feel that TYR needs to release a version 3.0 to really make this bag worth it for your average swimmers day to day needs.

I have been searching for a Triathlon Transition bag for a while, but didn't want to spend anywhere near $100 and luckily I found this bag.

It doesn't have an over abundance of little pockets but I like that. The pockets it does have are large enough so you can really fit everything in there and not have to wonder where you put things.

I took it this weekend for a race and had the following inside with plenty of room: wetsuit, cycle shoes, running shoes, helmet, socks, towels (2x hand towel size), sunscreen (spray can and smaller one), electrical tape, body glide, nutrition, 4 water bottles, flip flops, spare tubes, air cartridges, and on the out side of the bag it has 2 clips where I attached my visor.

You can't ask more out of a transition bag.

Ring Bearer Backpack

I did not find this product until 1 week before my wedding and rushed it here and contacted the seller to ensure it would arrive in time for me to give to my son (my ring bearer) at the rehearsal. It arrived within 2 days of ordering and was in excellent condition. This bag is perfect. Sturdy. Good quality and the perfect size bag for my 3 year old to take with him when he goes places.

I am thankful theirs a cool backpack out there for the Ring Bearer. They were the only one left that didnt have a Survival Kit. Thankful this exists.

I had originally ordered this as a gift for someone, so I wasn't as excited as I normally am when opening the package as I usually am. Stephen Joseph Boys 2-7 Quilted Backpack Zoo

We love this soft, light, colorful well-made bad. The pictures are adorable. What kid doesn't like wild animals? Our 2 year old boy can wear it easily or use the handle. The magnetized single and the simple string pull are easy for us and him to use. It holds the few things he needs for pre-school extra clothes and a thermos perfectly. He's excited to own it. He pays no attention to the two other small backpacks handed down to us, Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine, even though he likes those characters. This pack is much more attractive and tactile and it's nice not to have an over-commercialized, plastic clunky cheap bag that rips.

I love these bags! They are a soft cotton fabric. The colors are so much brighter in person. I ordered the shark, safari animals and ice cream pattern bags. I love them all good quality and perfect size for daycare.

Bought this for my grandson for christmas, he is nearly two. It was slightly big for a child his age, but he really loved being able to pack his own bag and carry his own things. It appears to be "Child Safe" with no small parts to break off and cause any safety issues.

High Sierra AT656 22 Inch - Carry On Expandable Wheeled Duffel with Backpack Straps

I was about to travel overseas to Amsterdam which is known for steep steps and cobblestone streets. I only wanted to bring one bag, and liked the Rick Steves idea of going with only one carryon (although I cheated and also brought a messenger bag just in case).

I love this suitcase for many reasons.

PROS:

It's exactly carry-on size for most airlines, but only if it's lightly packed. Thus, I put a lot of stuff for the trip to Europe in my messenger bag so that the suitcase would stay 9" deep.

If you end up buying lots of souvenirs like I did on your trip, the bag actually expands in depth from 9" to 14". Of course, you'll probably have to check your bag in on the way back, but there will probably be no checked bag fee (for international travel, that is).

The suitcase straps are convenient if you need them. I personally never did, but I can see a situation where I don't really want to drag the bag.

-It has a duffel-like strap over the top (when it's lying flat). You can't really use it for carrying, but it's nice to help heft a full bag onto your luggage rack for unpacking using just one hand.

You can use the adjustable side buckles to compress the bag a little more when it's packed, so that stuff moves around less and the bag takes up just a bit less space

CONS:

As is typical, the collapsing bar you use to drag the bag takes up a lot of space in the interior.

Once full, the suitcase is pretty heavy on your back. It doesn't look like the materials use any of the super-fancy lightweight structural stuff like carbon fiber, but that's why you're saving money on luggage. :)

The grey and red version, which I bought, doesn't stand out like crazy on the conveyor belt, so you really gotta hunt for it for a flight coming off a 747 after you've gone through customs.

It's not a "spinner" four-wheeled suitcase. I'm still coveting one of those.

All in all, I recommend this suitcase especially if you're traveling somewhere that you'll be coming home with more stuff than you left.

This bag has been with me on a number of trips now, including a 2-week tour through military bases in Afghanistan. I've used it as a carry on and as checked bag. It has already been subjected to a true beating and it has come through extremely well. This is a product well worth the money.

I purchased this case, specifically for a two week trip to Europe, in which I would be flying and carrying this on as well as taking trains throughout Europe. I thought I would use the straps but I did not and that was okay, they were there if I needed them. If you are careful in your packing (I used a ruler)and do not extend the case or overpack, this fits nicely into overhead compartments on an airplane. We were on three different planes before we arrived in Luxembourg and this case did nicely. This case is a really good size for traveling by train as well, as the overhead storage is significantly smaller on trains. When it was fully packed I had to keep it in the seat with me a couple of times.

The extended handle felt a little flimsy at times, but it never gave out. I had two different people on my trip lose there wheels on their suitcases. We were literally schlepping from train station to hotel on cobblestone roads for as far as two miles, in five different cities. This little case did wonderful. As the trip progressed I had plenty of room to pack souveniers. My room mate was amazed at everything I could pack in this case. I had it completely full for our trip back, in which it was checked luggage. It never toppled over or became difficult to manage throughout the airport. This was a great little suitcase. My only feedback would be improvements to security. It does not have a locking mechanism on it and the zipper pulls were not really designed to attach a lock or keep a lock as they were parachute cording. I was able to secure it using cable ties. Just carry extra in case you have to open your case for customs.

I love this bag!

It has a zippered lining running through the middle of the bag so you have an upper and lower shelf, or you can unzip it and it roles and bungees out of the way for one large compartment. The pocket sizes are just right the one in front runs almost to the bottom of the bag and is shaped so it's not incredibly tight; I can easily fit my arm down in, and the mesh pocket inside also feels oddly roomy.

This bag feels durable. The material, stitching, zippers, clips, handle and wheels all feel sturdy and meant to last with reasonable use.

The backpack straps fold away perfectly. Instead of having to scrunch them into a pocket, the back panel unzips away from the bag and folds over backward to become a protection pad to keep the wheels from getting your sides dirty.

I bought the green bag and really love the color. I'm not quite sure what to call it it's brighter than a forest, maybe "fern"? it's distinctive, but not obnoxious. Very pretty.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the clips on the sides was that they are perfect to help with overpacking problems if you can't get the zipper shut, just let the straps out all the way, clip them, and yank them to tighten everything, then zip.

The strap across the front, in combination with the clips on the side, make it easy to clip together and lift if you need to move the bag quickly while unpacking, but without a lot of fuss.

The 2" expansion ability is a plus, and the zipper is specially labeled so it's easy to find. Nice touch.

FYI, the strap on the front is all one piece, it doesn't separate into two handles. I don't care, but apparently in Europe it's very fashionable for a couple to share the duffel-carrying duties by each taking a strap. That wouldn't be possible with this bag.

Overall I love this bag. I'm a photographer and always in search of the perfect camera bag, but this duffel has finally ended my search for the perfect luggage. I've used it just a couple times now, but I really can't think of anything I've found that I wish I could change. Thumbs up all around.

Preface: I purchased 3 bags. This one, the 26-inch version and the 32-inch version.

This bag in particular is generally my carry-on. I fly exclusively on Delta and on larger jets, it fits exactly as its supposed to in the overhead bin, wheels in, top out. On midsized regional planes, it fits sideways. I have not yet flown with it on the small regional jets, but I expect to have to "pink tag" it and drop/retrieve it at the gate.

NOTE: The above statement assumes that you keep the expansion CLOSED, not open. If you open the expansion, be prepared to check it (and pay for it) on most aircraft. I pack this bag relatively light so the top pocket can be kind of "squished" in, for lack of a better term. I can get a 2-3 day trip out of this bag.

As far as the series AT-6 luggage in general, some reviewers have knocked it because its not a spinner type (4 independent wheels), and I'm not sure why, its pretty obvious its not. If that's what you're looking for, all I can tell you is that this luggage isn't what you're looking for.

All roll aboard luggage with the retractable handle like this takes up space inside and this bag is also no exception. There is a thin piece of material between the compartment and the telescope path which is flexible, so you could probably cram a few extra pairs of socks in if you plan ahead.

I have taken these bags on numerous trips since purchase and they're holding up very well, checked and as carry-on. I've not had any broken contents (knock on wood) in any case, nor have any parts or straps been torn or broken (knock on wood).

The built-in ID card holder is a really nice feature, protected from the elements and is attached by a piece of elastic so it can't simply fall out and be lost (spreading your personal information all over the airport). I don't use the backpack straps much, but on the 22-inch bag, they're comfortable. I find the other larger ones too heavy to wear like that comfortably.

The only way I could suggest High Sierra make this series better (again, I'm not letting it detract from my rating because it is clear it doesn't have this feature) is to add a "daisy-chain" strap for easier towing of more than one piece. Let's face it, 1st graders need a backpack for school, but not one that is too big as they just don't have that much stuff to put in it everyday like the middle schoolers. This backpack is just the right size... not too big and not too small. It fits his folder and reading book very well, without being too bulky. Additionally, I can put his lunch box in there too to pack to school so he only has to carry the backpack. I like the two front pockets too, as you can put a snack in them or money for those special bake sale days or whatever.

It is a great color too. My son just loves his backpack!!!

The picture on this site didn't do justice to the back pack as it looks better than what I saw I the picture. My daughter has been using it for a couple of months now but it seems as if I just bought it for her due to the excitement on her face everytime she carries it to daycare. I'm glad I got it for her.

I love the hands-free aspect of backpack and I am always searching for good backpack. This bag is make of durable yet light-weight material. A good size but not too large. Externally there is a zippered pocket at the top perfect for cell phone, keys, or small item. There are 2 plastic d-rings for hanging the bag on the stroller. There is also a large and deep pocket (right below the small zippered pocket)with hidden zipper. I love the double handles for grab and go. Internally, there are 4 slip pockets. Bound-down and grey lining is nice.

While this bag is made of light and durable, easy clean material, there is no padding what so ever, which some people may like because you can fold up the bag for storage. The shoulder straps are lightly padded. The bag doesn't have structured shape unless packed or stuffed. My biggest problem with this bag is that there is no good place to put a water bottle. The internal slip pockets are not all the way down to the bottom of the bag, so with the weight of a bottle, it drags the bag down.

The bag comes with a changing pad, which is stored in the middle of the main compartment and a insulated bottle holder. Personally I think the price tag of $74.99 is steep for this bag.

I'm a techy. Recently one of my biggest challenges has been to find a purse big enough to hold my Nook Color but small enough so that I don't look like I'm carrying a suitcase. This was the perfect solution. I originally bought one of these backpacks for my daughter for Christmas as she wanted one for a long time. As she carried it around conveniently on her back (while I was uncomfortably hoisting my purse over my shoulder), I decided that I wanted one as well.
