I use this bag for work and personal trips almost every day of the week, and it can take a beating. It's small enough to put in the passenger's seat of your vehicle, or to tuck away behind the driver's seat, but large enough inside to hold my Dell E6400 laptop, a binder, portfolio, a couple resumes in presentation folders (never know when you'll need them), my laptop charger, charger for my work cell, my Evo, its charger, plus damned near anything else I'd care to bring along. Definitely recommend the bag for anyone looking for space inside to match the quality outside.Read Best Reviews of Swissgear GA-7486-13F00 Venus Messenger Bag Here

Your first impression? Holy crap this thing is heavy! This is a quality backpack, and even though it is heavy, it is very comfortable to wear and use. My only real con is for me the pockets could have been placed and sized a bit better for my daily use. I will say I do like this backpack and I am really glad I got it.

I was looking at a few... "unique" bags. I like to stand out a bit, but not in the sense of being "loud". It came down between this Ogio, Oakley's Kitchen Sink, and a Logitech bag.My absolute "must" criteria was top-tiered laptop protection. This was going to be a bag for college, and it needs to survive a lot of use (not abuse). With that said, it's unnecessary to mention it needs to have room for books. Not to mention, as a gamer, I needed room for my mouse, mousepad, and charger. I would like to point out that I use a fairly pricey computer, and I would say it may be over-kill if you use a basic $500 laptop. I mean, it's great and all, but the laptop compartment may not hold a thicker profile laptop (non-ultrabooks) very well. This is also directed at you alienware owners.... you may want to choose a different route (sadly). You MAY be able to squeeze the M14 in it though.
This Ogio won in the end with it's amazing "RSS" compartment. It holds my 15.4" macbook VERY snugly, but definitely has room for a 15.6". I think it's relevant to addthis will absolutely NOT hold more than a 15.6". If you have a 16", it will not zip up.
Outside of the RSS, it is fantastic quality. The zippers are great, the ballistic nylon is extremely thick, the straps are stout (and cool looking), and if you use the top handle on your bags, you're in for a treat with it's memory foam-ish feel. There's a pocket for everything I have. I also geocache, and I have a full-blown first aid kit in this thing, 4 flashlights, battery cargo, bug sprays, compass....etc and none of this stuff is in the main compartment, the top compartment, nor the front organizer compartment. Some other bags I've used, when the pocket are full of dense or hard cases, it doesn't feel right and interferes with other compartments, but not this one.
Anyway, it's a great bag, and I would definitely pay up to $150 for this bag. If it ever wears out, I will be buying this one again without hesitation.

Looked all over for a bag that would answer all needs, and found only this one. Would not know what to buy if not for this bag it's all business, yet comfortable to wear, with the option of tucking the shoulder straps away and going into that important meeting without looking back-pack-ee. The only reservation I had writing this review is that other people will start showing up with it and I'd like to be the exclusive...Monday, August 4, 2014

Hopefully by the time you are seeing this review, either the price has come down or there is a free shipping option, but even if you have to pay $40, like I did, you'll probably find that it is worth it. I'm not at all disappointed in it.

Targus Spruce EcoSmart Backpack Case Designed for 17 Inch Laptops TBB019US (Black with Green Accent
It has nice lines and looks sporty compared to most bags. The strap is very comfortable too; well padded and fitted nicely.
The only reason i take away a star is because the strap harness squeaks when i walk. I'm sure i could fix this with some oil but I'm too lazy.I bought this bag for use in college with my Toshiba Satellite laptop. I'm an engineering major and need my laptop with me about 90% of the time, and this bag fit the requirements almost perfectly. Able to store laptop, one textbook, one 2" binder, graphing calculator, calipers, safety glasses, various pens, smaller notebook. Wish I could fit another textbook so I didn't have to go back to my car, but that is not a reflection of this product, I should have looked into that. Recycled material is very strong and all stitching seems great so far. Good compartments for cables/USB devices too. Well-padded laptop compartment fits well and closes with a velcro strap across the top. As comfortable as a laptop pack can be, though I'm used to heavy loads. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.Nice bag that fits my ipad (or a netbook) snug in a seperate compartment. there is room in the outside compartment where i put my charger, a usb drive, pen and 3/4 size notebook. The outside has a zipper where i drop my ipbone in when traveling through the airport. Overall a good back and you get that ecofriendly feel. No real 'concerns', but if i had to say anything, the shoulder strap slides a bit and when you clip the front flap it doesn't go as easy as others. That being said, I am very happy with this and will be using it for a long time. No need to take my laptop on short trips when my ipad can now accompany me and do the trick. recommended.I liked this bag very much. Its very strong and the upper handle is attached to the straps so it has less chances of getting torn. The thing that I didn't like about the bag is that it doesn't open too much. And gets full by just putting a laptop and 2-3 files. I cannot fill in lots and lots of stuff in it like my previous bag, which ultimately gave away as I brought 10 kgs. of stuff in it.

K-Cliffs Organizer Outdoor Sports Biking Hiking Backpack / School Bag - 3 Color Options
lots of little pockets for everything. Good wide straps for your

All in all its a good little pack but I would not recommend this
for more than casual use as it is too small for serious long
hiking backpack trips.
Four out of five stars overall.

I received my book bag earlier then estimated. I was happy when it made it to me, and it has been wonderful to have. My computer does not fit in the section provided, but it has plenty room in the rest of the bag. It came in mint condition with no problems attached. Thanks I am once again a grateful customer. Peace.I bought the pink one, and it was even better than I expected! The size is perfect and I love the two net pockets on the side where you can keep you water bottle and umbrella. The backpack is perfect for my needs and so far has been a good buy. TYR Alliance Team II Backpack
Picked up this backback as an emergancy replacement for an old PING duffle I was using after my morning shake decided to empty istelf all over the inside this morning, WHOOPS!
I decided to purchase a backpack and a seperate "wet" bag for my kickboard, pull buoy, etc.
Now to preface my review here I am an absolute bag snob. I used to skate, I used to and am now swimming, I ride motorcycles, I am into gadgets, and cameras, and video cameras, etc. etc. After acquiring the gear for all of these various activites I have learned what makes a good bag and what does not.
First and foremost for any bag purchase is comfort, position, and quality of the straps. If the strap breaks off then it doesnt matter how roomy or how many pockets a bag has. Thankfully this bag has you covered; an integrated grab handle, lightly gel cushioned straps with chest clips and a d-ring, a nylon waist strap with adjustable clip, and two seperate gel cushion for both the upper and lower back provide a comfortable and customizable fit for just about anyone. There is a "cellphone" holder integrated onto the chest straps but unless your rocking an oldschool nokia from the turn of the century then this pocket will most likely not fit your cell; especially any sort of smartphone or even a damn moto razor (to wide). I will most likely lobotomize this useless appendage as well as the waist strap which I appreciate but rarely use. One negative I can give the bag is the use of single stitching on the straps; from my days lugging around heavy skates I can tell you that double or even triple stitching is the way to go on backback straps but only time will tell if this will be a problem.
Secondary to the way a bag attaches to the user is the space and features it provides and here this bag falls terribly short. There is a divider in the main compartment but it cant fit a TYR kickboard so Im guessing its either for a laptop or just for seperation yet either of those features is unwarrented in a gym bag. The compartment for storing shoes comes up from the bottom via an externally accessible pocket and works as advertised however the goggles saver pouch and music player pockets described above do not. The pocket for the music player is a pocket inside a pocket with no grommet to feed your headphone cables through making it worthless, and why would you put an electric device into a pocket with wet goggles?? I would suggest using the cellphone pocket on the main straps but once again its to narrow for a modern ipoh touch, classic, iphone, zune, etc. although it might fit a nano. Hanging a suit from the caribiners would drag your garments across the floor behind you so, although they look useful for other things, I think the marketing department was more involved with their purposing then the engineering team. The last two pockets are on either side of the bag and can hold 2 bottle of water each however they are zippered pockets, why there is no drawstring style bottle holder is an absolute mystery to me.
All in all the bag is sufficiently large to dump your cheange of clothes into and force into a gym locker but I cant help but feel that TYR needs to release a version 3.0 to really make this bag worth it for your average swimmers day to day needs.I have been searching for a Triathlon Transition bag for a while, but didn't want to spend anywhere near $100 and luckily I found this bag.
It doesn't have an over abundance of little pockets but I like that. The pockets it does have are large enough so you can really fit everything in there and not have to wonder where you put things.
I took it this weekend for a race and had the following inside with plenty of room: wetsuit, cycle shoes, running shoes, helmet, socks, towels (2x hand towel size), sunscreen (spray can and smaller one), electrical tape, body glide, nutrition, 4 water bottles, flip flops, spare tubes, air cartridges, and on the out side of the bag it has 2 clips where I attached my visor.
You can't ask more out of a transition bag.

Outstanding product, rain or shine. I use it for a triathlon bag and it holds all of the gear and I attach the helmet to the outside rigging. My daughter wanted this backpack for swimming she has a lot of gear she has to carry around, before she has this pack she carried 3 bags now it all fits in one she uses it for swim team and track. This bag is perfect for a swimmer, and clearly designed by someone who knows what's needed. It's roomy, with plenty of pockets, which makes it easy to store both wet and dry things at the same time. It is well made and durable, so will hold up well whether sitting on the deck inside or out. I expect it will last for years, even with daily use.Friday, April 4, 2014

My daughter loves this bag! The movie is one of her favorites and I was excited to find the bookbag. It is a good size, however, it is too small for a high schooler to use. My kids don't have lockers at school & it's not big enough to carry all of her books all the time. That said, she is an anime artist & uses it to cache her artwork & supplies. She's had it for three months & it's holding up fine. No regrets.Want The Nightmare Before Christmas Large Backpack Discount?

14 inch Fascinating Peacock Notebook Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case for most of MacBook, Acer, ASU
Its worth the price I paid. Its not super padded, but thats not a big deal for me since I got it to be protect my macbook in my backpack, and to keep it from getting scratched up when bringing it places. Its very pretty too and is printed on both sides which I love.It seems like a fine sleeve, but it's way too loose on my laptop (Lenovo g470, 14 inches). To be fair, my model isn't listed as one of the ones that the sleeve is meant to fit.
The construction seemed good and the zipper felt sturdy, so it's probably a good value as long as it fits your computer, or if you have a smaller laptop and plan to keep cables or papers in the laptop sleeve.Very pretty case. It looks very nice in a unique way and is of normal quality for hese types of case. Nothing wrong with it that I can see. I enjoy carrying it around. This product was made very well. I don't even own a laptop, but love peacocks so much, that I use it for notebooks and such.
Why it lost a star it took a bit before the some what toxic, "made in China" smell dissipated. Also, I still feel it is aesthetically
pleasing, but looks better on line than in person. (Looks richer Vs. cheaper).

Mobile Edge Premium Backpack Yellow/Black MEBPP4
TXL617 17 XL Back pack. It was about $18 dollars cheaper and I'm a
trying to save pennies (aren't we all?).
After traveling less than one week with the Targus, the flap clip broke
and had a problem with the main zipper (workmanship).
Amazon refunded the entire cost, so I order the Black premium.
Boy, am I glad.
The workman ship is a heck of a lot better!
The straps are a whole lot sturdier and WAY more comfortable. This is an
understatement!
Here's the rub, a friend has the same model Targus, but it was well over
a year old, they went cheap on the newer model and the workmanship has
changed for the worst. I based my original purchase on the older model
(with same model number) because of HIS experience and recommendation.
He also agreed, the newer version was lower quality and they removed
some cool features.
He's now eyeing the ScanFast Checkpoint Friendly Backpack, even though
his Targus is still in good shape (guilt maybe).
Never owned a Mobile Edge before, but the saying "you get what you pay
for" has hit me hard (in a good way).
The Premium also has better protection than the Targus.
I knew the Premium has more padding from reviews, but I thought it
would have a lot less space because of this. I'm darned stoked to be
proven wrong.
I can still fit a Pavilion DV7-2xxx (17.3") into a Caselogic PLS-17
Sleeve with the Power Supply/mouse into the padded backpack holder!
The HP DV7 is 16.2 x 10.9" and with added bulk of the sleeve, P/S &
Mouse in the zippered sleeve pocket, it fit like a glove. Tight enough
to not need the Velcro strap, but can still slide the lappy in and out
easy.
Thanks to Mobile Edge's competition, my investment in Premium Backpack
has made me a happy camper. It will also hold a whole bunch of tech
gear, and all the cables in one neat package.
I do not work for Mobile Edge or been fired by Targus. This pack is the best pack I have ever owned. It is very well built....far better than Targus or Swiss.
I travel on 4 planes per week and have gone through many packs, until I got this one.
Mobile Edge makes great products. I beg that you come out with a pack that can fit the Lenovo W700ds.

Maxpedition Vulture-II Backpack
I have actually just replaced this pack with a Spec-Ops THE pack for camping, and hiking purposes. The Spec-Ops pack is what i would consider true "milspec", for what thats worth, and its a difference that you pretty much have to see and feel to understand. I also have a review of that pack here on Amazon. Nevertheless...I am a fan of Maxpedition stuff, and i own and continue to buy their gear for every day carry situations. This is a great pack, but if you dont mind spending an extra $50 or so, there are better options for more mission specific packs...Try Eagle Industries, Spec Ops, or go crazy and check out Kifaru.

I have been shipping around for a Bug out Bag to carry my supplies for emergency situations and I needed to find a bag that was both affordable but spacious and resilient. I shopped around for a long while and I happened upon the Vulture II bag. I did my homework and from what I gathered it was a a very tough, spacious, and comfortable bag. It was, however, a little on the expensive end ($132 when I purchased it) so I was rather resistant to shelling out that much for a bag but over the course of a couple weeks it became clear that this is exactly the bag that I want. The bag has met and exceeded all my expectations. From pulling it out of its plastic covering you can tell immediately that this was one rugged bag, it felt indestructible. Opening it up it revealed PLENTY of space for whatever you could want. There is a pocket for a water bladder if that is what one wants but as another reviewer stated it fits a laptop perfectly if you are thinking of using the bag more domestically. The zippers are a bit stiff on the bag requiring a little work to close and open them but that is of no surprise considering how tough the bag is and that new bags naturally need to be broken in a little. The shoulder straps, with CORRECT fitting, are extremely comfortable and there are both chest and abdomen straps that really help offload some of the pull on the shoulders.
All in all, I would highly recommend this bag to whomever wishes for a reliable bug out bag, outdoors bag, etc. The bag is worth every penny and I suggest to anyone that, in this case, spending those extra couple of dollars will provide you with something that will outlast many other.

I have had the Vulture 3-Day Assault Pack for a few years and I love this pack. It is strong, solid and has plenty of room for your gear. The YKK #10 zippers are strong, dependable and can handle the abuse from a stuffed pack. The 1000-Denier water and abrasion resistant light-weight ballistic nylon fabric is very durable and there are enough MOLLE attachments to add gear. The backpack has a waist belt and chest belt for a comfortable load. The Vulture-II holds 2810 cubic inches of gear which should be plenty for about a 3 day trip. The main compartment is very large and holds a lot of gear. The main compartment has dual zippers so it can be opened up almost all the way so that getting to your gear is no problem. I am able to fit a bivy, sleeping bag, sleeping bag liner, Thermarest small pad, back pack rain cover and other items in the main compartment. This pack also has a front pouch and slip pocket to hold other essential items as well. It has a compartment for a 100 oz. hydration bladder for water. At 3 lbs, 8 oz. it is a bit on the heavy side but there is always a cost/benefit ratio with gear. This is not a ultralight pack but it will handle any abuse you can dish out and it will last for many years. I have used and abused this pack and it still looks brand new.
If you are looking for a pack that has plenty of room, is extremely durable, yet comfortable then this is your pack. The Vulture 2 is an extremely rugged and versatile backpack. It is made of 1000 denier teflon coated fabric with a rubberized bottom which is water, dirt, and mud resistant. The entire pack is double stitched for added strength. It has about 2800 cubic inches of space and plenty of compartments for accessories. The shoulder straps are load bearing and adjustable for added comfort. It is also water bladder compatable, up to 100oz. Although I've only had this pack for a short amount of time, I've been able to get some good use out of it. I was pretty rough with it just to see how well it would do and I was not disappointed. I've owned many backpacks in my life, very expensive ones that I thought were good quality, but the Maxpedtion Vulture 2 is by far the best I've owned, in every way. This is one of those few products that can literally last you a lifetime.

Brenthaven 2071102 Expandable Trek Backpack for Notebooks / Ultrabook up to 15.6-Inch - Titanium
Until the zipper went out for the main compartment I would have rated it 4 or 5 stars for sure. But since the zipper went out its now nothing but a useless dud, so thus the 1-star rating. Bummer. And that was after very little use.
I contacted Brenthaven about having it repaired, and they've provided me a return authorization #, and asked me to ship the bag to them for repairs. Ok, I will, but it is an inconvenince, it costs money, and it takes time to get it fixed. It is something that should have never happened in what is billed as a quality product. After all, my Rick Steves cheapo backpack has gone through years of hard use with nary a problem, and it was only $15. Sigh.
UPDATE: I just received back 'my' backpack from Brenthaven, and I have to say that their customer service was superb. Not only was their turn-around time incredibly quick, they actually 'repaired' my bag by replacing it with the latest model. I'm impressed. I also noticed that the new version has much more rugged zippers, as well as a few new additional features. Way to go Brenthaven! Although the Amazon rating system doesn't allow for it, if I could I'd raise my rating to 4-stars based on Brenthaven's customer service(not 5-stars because I believe it shouldn't have failed to begin with).I purchased this bag as a replacement to the Swiss Gear Laptop backpack which I had for 7 years or so. The old Swiss Gear had plenty of space and was very functional and when loaded up wore, well on my shoulders. I searched for a new bag for several weeks, checking pics, reading reviews, and shopping in brick and mortar stores as well as online with ebags, Amazon and company websites.
What I carry:
I typically travel with 1 to 2 laptops, power units, Ipod, Ipod charger, Ipod battery backup, Headset (over the ear) cell phone & charger, work files, a book or two to read and one or two magazines, Foreign Affairs or Dwell, etc...I usually have a small bottle of advil and cough drops handy, also business cards, and pens, glasses, sunglasses, and small calculator. Lately, i have been bringing a small hard drive, and all the additional cables you may want to use with a laptop, (USB, firewire, etc...).
Bag review: The total bag construction is solid, and lighter than my old Swiss Gear. The bag has a main compartment, small fleece lined pocket, second expandable compartment, outside back lower compartment, 2 vertical zipper pockets (small), two outside zipper pockets on either side of the bag, and a small Ipod pocket on the top neckside of the bag.
Main compartment storage-> There are plenty of pockets to store all the little stuff in the main compartment but I wish the small compartments were mesh, so you could see everything, and also had a velcro closer so things do not spill out when the bag is thrown around in an airline cabin. This is also where you would store small files and books. The main compartment zipper opening is adequate, but the opening could be larger. The laptop protection sleeve is here and is superior to the Swiss Gear.
The small fleece lined zippered pocket is adequate but the real advantage here is the quick access. I wish it was 10% to 20% bigger. The second deep compartment is expandable. I use it for magazines, glass cases, small books, etc...It is useful and has good zipper access. The outside back lower compartment is where all your pens, calculator, cough drops, house keys, garage door remote ( i never leave mine in the car at the airport), business cards, and other small stuff go. I have adapted to using this very well and so will anyone.
There two vertical zippers pockets on either side of the lower back compartment and i have found useful for segmenting the Ipod cables and computer cables i always carry. The two left and right outside zipperd pockets are just large enough for the two computer power units. The two mesh water bottles on each of these are worthless and Brenthaven needs to re-design these. The small Ipod pocket on the top inside ( up by your neck area, where your back meets the pack) is a nice addition and you can run the small ear buds directly out of it to your ears while you hike or walk with the bag ( i do not use it but it is a nice feature for some).
I really like the way this pack wears on my shoulders and back. It has excellent ergonomics and is very comfortable when loaded down. I am 6' 1", 187lbs and simply do not feel sore after wearing this bag loaded down for some time. Overall this is a solid performing bag and hope to get years of use from it. The titanium and black color combination looks good too, it is a cross between business casual and urban survival. This is the second Brenthaven Trek backpack I purchased. The first was for my personal Mac Book. When it came time to purchase one for my work laptop it just seemed logical. It has storage galore. Plenty of little pockets for storing flash drives, mice, accessories and power supplies. In fact, when going on vacation I pack both my work and personal computer in one bag. There is plenty of room for both PLUS everything else and it fits nicely on the plane under the seat. This is an excellent backpack--it is very sturdy and well-built. I carry a huge book load to and from medical school and this backpack easily handles the 50+ pounds. The computer storage is safe and well-padded. The shoulder straps are very sturdy and very comfortable even with heavy weights. Zippers are all high quality. I would strongly recommend this backpack over pretty much anything I have ever had/seen before.I use this BP everyday in the field doing maintenance on wireless cell sites which includes working on Catalina Island.
The need for a BP that was:
Strong enough to hold all my items
Plenty of extra pockets for small test eq. items, misc. hand tools
Dependable top handle to use for hoisting the bag up ladders etc.
Professional looking too
So far I have had great success with this BP.
Items for concern are:
Too small of an opening for the front pocket. Needs to have a larger diameter.
Top pouch to be a little deeper.
Side mesh pockets to be taller and more flexible but still have a firm grip on water bottels, meters etc.
