It's a nice bag, but the hidden handle photos are deceiving. You cannot completely zip the case when the handles are in use. The zipper on each side zips only to the outer edge of the handle. A opening the width of the handle remains unzipped.

Design and materials are satisfactory and were represented well. The zipper is of poor quality and comes off the track alsmost evry time it is used. It is a poor quality nylon zipper and I anticipate that it soon will not zip at all. I am not satisfied with the workability of this case.

Very cute, my daughter likes it. I dont think it is extremely durable if you are looking for a long term backpack, it is fraying in areas but it did the job for summer camp. I like that the lunchbox attaches to the backpack and it is a very cute design.

I'd been debating over whether to ask for this pack for a couple of months, while I checked out user reviews and did some research online. Satisfied that "military assault pack" wasn't total BS, I asked my mom to order it for me. The price ($120) was absolutely reasonable for what came in the box. Let's cut to the chase. I'm not active or reservist military. But I know good 'gear' when I see it. I hike a lot, and I can say that the MAP 3500 is an excellent pack for most uses. It has aluminum stays in the pack to keep shape and also to give some sort of back support. Several compartments to store various items. The 'admin' area will do nicely for people who commute or work out of a pack during the day, such as students. Space for a couple of pens/pencils, etc.

To give you an idea of how tough this pack is, it is used by the Seals to train with, and they put weighted plates in it. I can grab this pack by the daisy chain, which is ordinarily not exactly heavy-duty on a pack, and shake the pack by this all over the place. No seam rippage.

Kelty is a very good company, and this pack is a very good deal. I've had it only a couple of weeks, but I am always finding reasons to sling it on and take it with me. The straps are velcro adjustable, and very well padded. They will fit a big guy like me with no problems. The only thing I deduct a star for is the waist belt is a few inches too small to fit me. Since it is a reasonably light pack, I only take away 1 star. I doubt most people will need the belt. But, it is removable. I might lose a few pounds later on and see if I can fit it on. But, as I said, not a deal-breaker for this style of pack. You likely won't be loading that much inside. I mostly have some books, daily odds and ends, and a jacket for when it's windy.

The pack is hydration 'ready'. That means, it has a sleeve where you can put a hydration bladder (such as Camelbak), and a pass-through port out of the compartment to run your hose. There is also a strap-secured sleeve in front of the hydration sleeve, where you could in theory stow a 2nd bladder, or anything else you need to keep secure, like a small laptop computer. I put my netbook in there in it's neoprene case. It fits well.

There are mesh pockets on the outside for drinking bottles or canteens, one on each side of the pack. They are cinchable, and can hold most commercially available bottles. The small to medium ones, anyway. I've found a tall bottle will ride better if you tuck it under one of the pack's compression straps.

I chose foliage because I have *A LOT* of black packs and bags, and foliage is very neutral. It doesn't present a bright image. Handy for if you are bird-watching or otherwise trying not to be very conspicuous. It's a nice neutral color scheme. I was also impressed with the variety of color choices Kelty offers for this pack. I notice a lot of 'military' packs come in 1 to 3 colors, no more. This one has several, and you should be able to find something you like.

As a hiking or daypack, this pack is *PERFECT*, in my opinion. It's not too big, not too small, and will organize what you need organized. It can stuff a lot of items inside. More than you'd think, given the profile. But, all in all, I really like it. I also like the lack of drainage grommets. I have some packs that have massive drain holes that all manner of insects and critters can get into. As long as you keep this thing zipped, it should be secure.

To summarize, it is a great pack, reasonably priced, and should be good for just about anything you might need a backpack for. Great for school, great for light travel. It's considered a 3 day pack, I believe. I know I can put 3 days worth of clothing inside, with room to spare.

I bought my MAP 3500 a few months ago and use it 5 days a week for work, and I'm not just throwing it on the front seat of my car and dragging it to the office, but I walk to work at least twice a week 6 miles one way 12 round trip.

There's plenty of room for my laptop, iPad, books, lunch, water, a couple cans of coke, wipes, etc... and the nice thing about it is it doesn't look bulky while wearing it and its extremely comfortable, supportive and durable. I stuff it full or items for the day and am happy to report that there are no signs of wear and tear! I walk in rain and it wears nicely.

Where I live, it can reach up over 100 degrees for weeks at a time, and that's where the back panel comes in keeping it as cool as possible, off the back, in the heat. Lots of loops, straps and adjustments for comfort.

I can't say enough about this back pack. It's nice to know that there are still some companies out there that make good products and Kelty is one of them.

I got this pack for train-up before deployment. I got the Multi-cam version to mix with the new uniforms. I knew the Kelty name from my other 3 hiking packs and knew the quality would be good.

When I first used the pack for a 2 day op, it fit well, was sturdy, and held my gear, water and MREs securely with the cinch straps. The outside pockets held 48 oz nalgene bottles very well. But what I really loved were the shoulder straps and back panel... Good air flow and moisture control! This has become my favorite pack for long day trips or overnights. I'll likely get another one in brown for everyday use.

This is the pack I've been looking for. Couldn't find just what I wanted and needed in the stores; nice packs but not just what I wanted. This pack is used to haul all the stuff you need for a day at the zoo or a cold morning at the soccer game. It's full of ponchos, water, sunblock, you name it. When the weather warms up, the jackets and sweaters go into the pack. The waist belt is removable for what I need; can be reinstalled if needed for a real hike. The ONLY thing I would suggest is larger zippers, but the ones that come with it now are not a deal breaker. Size wise I call it a day pack. A week in the woods and I would want an external frame and as large of a pack as I could move with. This looks like it will last a long time.

My husband bought a kelty map 3500 for use at work. When we planned a trip to the local zoo, I decided to take the pack with us. We bought the camelback bladder and put the kids clothes, snack, books, first aid kit. The bag worked so great, all the things fit nicely and it was not burden to carry, like my old diaper bags. The fact that I could drink fresh water whenever I wanted without having to buy bottles of water was so nice.

I have now bought a pack of my own and whenever we go anywhere we take our packs with us. Everyone always comments what a nice idea it is to carry the pack with the water. I know that before I had the pack I would buy water and soda at very high prices, not anymore.

Calumet Bp1500 Large Backpack

OK, I'll admit it: I'm a hiker first, and a photographer second. Been in the hiking business ever since I joined the boy scouts at age 8 (I'm 45 at the time of this writing). However, for my 10th birthday I got my first SLR as a gift. All of which is to say, I consider myself having plenty of experience in either field. It is with that background, that I am looking at the Calumet BP1500 camera backpack.

Needed a new camera backpack when my trusty Lowepro AW Trekker finally gave out, after many years of reliable service. It probably had more miles on it's back than the automobiles of many of the readers of this review will have. Was a good backpack. And as a vacation trip to Maine was coming up, I needed a replacement, fast. This time I wanted to take a pack that could hold both my camera equipment and my laptop (previously I had tugged a laptop back along with the photo bag). It just so happened that the day my old backpack broke, Calumet was sending out en email advertising their new BP1500. Initially I though why bother buying a backpack from a camera shop? They can't know anything about backpacks. Lowepro (or Lowe, the mother company) on the other hand is a well respected name in the hiking world. But then I realized the Calumet BP1500 was quite a bit cheaper than the Lowepro AW CompuTrekker that I had envisaged. So I thought, just give it a shot. I'm glad I did.

Ordered the backpack on a Saturday, using standard UPS ground shipment, and my first surprise came on Monday afternoon when UPS dropped of the cardboard box with the BP1500 at my house. Then I remembered, yeah, Calumet delivers very fast.

My next surprise came when I unpacked the BP1500. This thing was definitely designed by a seasoned hiker. Solid canvass material liberally reinforced where rough hiking puts extra stress on the material (and where my AW Trekker had broken down). The hip belt isn't just a lame strip of canvas, it's an expertly cushioned support system that is very well anchored to the main pack. As any experienced hiker knows: a good pack allows you to carry the bulk of the weight with your hips, so that belt better be comfortable. And then, once I started exploring the BP1500, there were just tons of extras and surprises worth noting:

* The zippers have a comfortable "fat" feel to them. They are sealed with plastic sheaths that will hold off splash water, without getting into the path of the zipper

* At the lower left and lower right the pack features two larger mesh pockets, which you can use for water bottles or for storing smaller knick-knacks

* The hip belt has two integrated pouches, meant for cell phones, iPods and the like (or in my case: memory cards and GPS)

* The same belt also has two massive D-rings made of sturdy rope, cushioned with plastic sleeves. Ideal for resting your hands during a longer hike. Never seen that on a photo bag before (and always missed it)

* If you choose to do so, you can actually dismount the hip-belt (it is essentially held in place by a large velcro section). Not recommended if you're hiking, but good to know it's possible.

* Canvas loops and smaller plastic D-rings are all over the outside of this pack. Allowing you to add all sorts of attachments to the bag (I use bungee ball cords to attach a jacket or a carabiner hook for my binoculars). I also attached a smaller filter-pouch (holding 4 circular polarizers) using one of the loops. In the field, I'll typically carry this on my belt, but it's good to know that it fits on the pack as well

* The bag actually comes with two adjustable luggage straps that lock to d-rings on via carabiner hooks. This is perfect for tacking on an additional clothing bag, a blanket, or a raincoat.

* A well thought out contraption on the left side of the bag is meant to safely strap on a monopod (obviously, you could also use it for hiking poles).

* And down the center of the bag you can attach even a large tripod. A semi-circular zipper opens a pouch you can use to arrest the foot of the tripod, and various straps across the bag can be adjusted to safely hold the tripod in place. However, the system is designed so well that if you are not carrying a tripod, you can use this pouch as a third outside compartment (this is where I typically carry spare batteries and a case for my sunglasses)

* The pack actually has an airflow system: the padding that provides cushioning when the pack is strapped to your back is designed in such a way that the pads are criss-crossed by "grooves", which provide room for air circulation even when the pack is pressed against your back. This system is a perfectly adequate system for the types of hikes the users of this bag are likely to undertake.

* The straps from the main harness are comfortably padded, as you would expect. What I did not expect was how solidly they are anchored against the center of gravity of the bag. Even the Lowepro AW Trekker, which is not a bad bag, has these straps simply horizontally sewn to the upper rim of the back with a stitching of maybe 4-5 inches wide per strap. On the BP1500 the main harness straps extend behind the main padding, where they are vertically sewn on the bag with maybe 12 inches worth of stitching per strap. I had not seen this approach before with anything but expedition quality backpacks. Wow.

The BP1500 has two outside compartments. The lower compartment is roomy enough to store plenty of knick knacks (cables, flash lights, car keys, battery chargers, energy bars, water filtration set). Spacey enough even for a notebook (the paper sort) or paper maps. The upper one of these two compartments has organizers for material like pens, business cards, your wallet. The inside of these flaps contains zipper-closed mesh bags which allows you to safely store filled up memory cards, camera batteries, AA batteries for the flashes, and the like.

And then there are the two main compartments: the compartment closest to your back is very tall and wide, but shallow meant for your laptop. It is so big that it will easily fit even the most enormous notebook computer (I have a 17" model, it almost appears lost in there).

And finally, the compartment that I bought this bag for in the first place: the camera equipment compartment. It is huge. Will hold A LOT of stuff. More equipment, than you'll likely want to lug around (for weight reasons) on a serious hike. The BP1500 comes with a generous, and I really mean generous, number of velcro fitted pads that you can use to subdivide the space flexibly in any way that makes sense for you and your equipment. Here is what I did with it:

* I fitted two SLRs, both with tele zooms attached (a 70-200mm and a 100-400mm) down the middle of the compartment

* Two longer tele-primes (200mm and 400mm) lay flat

* Four smaller primes (28mm, 50mm, 60mm macro and 100mm macro), two wide angle zooms (10-22mm and 16-35mm) and a 1.4x teleconverter fit in vertically (i.e. perpendicular to your back)

* Two Canon 580EX II flashes together with diffuser caps and an ST-E2 transmitter

* Various plastic stuff (e.g. a rain cover for the camera and an inflatable mini-softbox

The padding for the camera compartment is so sturdy, so adjustable, and so generous, that I am 100% sure my equipment is well protected.

That still left about one fifth of the space unused. I filled it up with a cable bag that I "borrowed" from my laptop bag, containing the power brick, ethernet cable, wireless mouse and CF card reader for my laptop.

OK, that's a lot of equipment. Much more than I would bring along on a typical hike. First I wanted to see how much of my equipment this bag could hold (pretty much everything). Realistically, for daytime hikes I carry a selection of this camera equipment, but fill the space up with some hiking stuff (e.g. spare clothing or a gas burner). And it's good to know this bag can hold all that stuff.

Is this pack perfect? No. It's got it's weaknesses:

* The airflow system is a nice improvement over the one the AW Trekker used to have, but it doesn't hold a candle to the airflow systems in Deuter expedition backpacks (which I consider the best backpacks money can buy but they are not designed for photographers)

* The measurements of this bag were obviously designed with the "size wise" restrictions for airline carry-on luggage in mind. However, the depth of the pack exceeds these restrictions by 1/2 inch, and the length of the pack exceeds it by a full inch. So far I have flown four times with this pack as carry-on, and never had any problems. However, if you do design it for this usage, then please stick to the limits

* There is no way to subdivide the laptop compartment. As said above, it is huge. And laptops tend to be heavy. Good ergonomics would be to carry this weight as high up as possible. However, the laptop compartment being the way it is, the laptop will invariably slide towards the bottom of the pack.

In summary: this is a very good pack. Even more because the quality of this pack was a bit unexpected. Calumet is not known for hiking equipment, yet, this pack was definitely designed by someone who knew his hiking gear at least as well as his photography gear. Having hiked with it for a while, I can wholeheartedly recommend this pack. Great design, very good performance, and the price is excellent. And another advantage: contrary to the Lowepro line, this bag doesn't scream "photography equipment" to every nutcase who sees you walking around with it.

The only watchout: if you're not lugging around huge quantities of photographic material, you may want to consider the smaller version of this pack that Calumet also sells (I haven't seen that one personally, but it looks like they have a very similar design).

I spent hours searching through every photography backpack listed on Amazon with a specific idea of what I wanted. Most of the bags listed were too small for what I needed and were expensive. I'm so glad I purchased this one. This bag has all of the features of the bags listed at $300 for half that price. It is made out of very sturdy materal and has very well padded straps. The zippers are water resistant and very sturdy. The camera compartments are all adjustable and made of thick foam. There are pockets for phone, mp3 player, water bottle, tripod, and tons of loops for clipping on whatever you can think of. The only problem anyone might have with this model is the size(20.25x11x6), but to fit a larger laptop you need a bag this size. (Calumet makes a smaller pack as well: # BP935). If you carry more than one camera and lots of accessories, this is the bag for you.

I shot weddings and special events and it holds EVERYTHING I have so far Rebel T3i, three lenses, LED light, Mic, batteries, memory cards, chargers, and still has room for more. Has a very well protected compartment for a laptop that I will eventually use. Has straps on the sides for mono pods or tripods. The tripod holder on the back is awesome. This pack is built very sturdy and I feel confident that it will last me a lifetime.

I've had this backpack for about 2 years now and absolutely love it. I've tried the smaller backpacks: Canon Deluxe Photo Backpack 200EG for Canon EOS SLR Cameras (Black with Green Accent) , I've tried the carrying bags: Domke 700-J3B Ballistic Super Compact (Black) , Canon 2400 SLR Gadget Bag for EOS SLR Cameras and they all have limitations.. either poor quality, too small, uncomfortable, or require odd rearranging (like detaching all lenses). The BP1500 is the only backpack I've seen that can hold everything and make you feel like it's secure.

It features 3 compartments: 2 on the front (one large one at the bottom, smaller one at top) and the main camera compartment. The front compartments are great for accessories (flashes, cables, etc..) and the top compartment can hold any ID's, pens, etc.. you might have.

The main compartment is customizable and can easy accomodate 2 DSLRs with telephoto lenses (70-200L) pointing against eachother. The backpack is deep enough to even accomodate camera with a battery grip attached.

The size compartments are great for holding lenses, filters and anything else you might have (more flashes, accessories, batteries, you name it).

Inside are also 2 clear compartments that zip open these are great for small items (flash triggers, filters, USB cables, colored gels).

The side of the backpack even has a compartment to hold a LARGE laptop (or photo albums if you have those a safe way to carry prints with you).

The sides of the backpack have all sorts of straps great for attaching a tripod, monopod or holding the odd accessory.

This is a heavy item, and quite large! Because of that, it isn't the perfect everyday backpack. For that I actually use a smaller backpack when I need the extra space though (which is often, actually), this is definitely the way to go! Much more secure than the other bags I've tried, but it is quite heavy (especially loaded) and walking around all day is a pain in the neck (literally!). Despite this, I don't know what they could have done better to fix that (it's going to be heavy no matter what).

Whenever someone asks for a recommendation on a bag, this is my answer! I may even pick up the smaller version for daily use when this ones a bit more than needed.

Military Inspired Canvas Crossbody Messenger Bag Shoulder Bag Laptop Case Backpack Brown

I'm an Engineering undergraduate student, and this bag is great for me. It's the perfect size to fit a medium-sized laptop, along with a few textbooks or notebooks. The strap is comfortable and the whole thing is lined, which is very nice. The bag shipped quickly and was in good shape when it arrived. The only thing that I could complain about is that the smaller pockets aren't zippered, but that's not much of an inconvenience. Overall, I'd highly recommend it for students.

I was leery of this bag when I ordered it, to be honest. Amazon has only 3 stock images of the bag and none showing whats under the flap. However, the reviews seemed pretty positive, so I went for it.

After several weeks of use, I dig it! The canvas stitching is pretty rugged and the strap is anchored well. This bag looks like it was stitched together to hold a hefty load. The strap is wide enough and the bag is a good size that is rests well along the hip or lower without the annoying off center feeling you can experience with some messenger bags.

Under the flap are two basic pockets. They are pretty deep and can accommodate quite a few pens/pencils/dice/cards/whatever you wish to toss in there. There are two side pockets, one open and one zip. Good use of space, but the pockets are pretty tight, so don't expect to jam much more than, say, an tablet/cell charger in the side. The zipper pocket seems good to just carry some loose change or paper bills. Inside the flap, the main pocket has a zipper which is a nice touch. You have your main pouch which seems much bigger than the bag does. The laptop pouch of the pocket can hold a pretty hefty sized laptop. If you carry a tablet in the laptop pocket, you will have quite a bit of extra space for it to rock around since the Velcro strap is a good 3-4 inches long. However, it is padded if only a bit.

The only major gripe with the bag is the clips that hold the flap down to the main bag. They a pretty stiff and it can make it hard to get hooked onto the grommets. I hope after using the bag the clips will ease up a bit.

Definitely a good looking and well functioning messenger bag over all.

Thanks to financial aid from my college, I was able to get a new laptop. Spending $500 on a nice system for a Computer Science student, I decided spending a bit on a nice padded messenger bag to replace my old, dated bag would be a wise investment. So I looked around for padded laptop bags, and came across this one. The reviews on it were quite mixed, but in my experiences, it's quite a nice bag.

It's large enough to hold my 15 inch laptop, a binder, and a textbook. I'm sure it'll fit a 16 inch laptop too, but 17 inches MAY be pushing it. The main compartment has a somewhat cheapy zipper that works alright. There's also two little pockets that you can use to store a graphing calculator, power brick, wireless mouse, microfiber cloth, whatever you really need that isn't too big.

The water bottle holder holds a standard 16.9 fl oz bottle just fine, but I'm always afraid that the bottle might fall out. It's not in there well enough it seems. Oh well though, I hardly bring water with me anyway. If you have a pretty big water bottle, take heed that it may not fit in the little compartment.

The biggest problem I have with the bag is the clasps. They're stiff, and they take a bit of effort to close. The bag doesn't really NEED to close them, but I feel it's required to complete the look. They go in fine, but it just takes a bit of needless effort.

EDIT 1 October 22nd, 2012 -After one day (read that again -ONE DAY) of normal usage the zipper came off. The zipper head puller thing came loose when I was zipping my items away. I wasn't too happy. I managed to get the zipper working again, and I'm going to have to apply a little DIY magic to add another zipper stopper. I ended up paying $40 for the bag, so I'm not too happy that I have to, but oh well. Please do note the poor quality of the zipper if you decide to purchase the bag, and be careful on it. But if the zipper puller comes off it can be reattached. It took maybe ten minutes.

EDIT 2 January 18th, 2013 -I'm surprised the bag is still together. The stitching done on the bag is abysmal. The stitching on the bottom of the bag started to come loose. One of the pockets began to lose the stitching inside of it. I used a glue gun to fix the bottom issue, but the pocket remains a problem.

Do not buy this bag if you are someone who wants their stuff to last.

This bag looks exactly like what is pictured. Perfect messenger bag size, very durable canvas, roomy interior with a padded smaller section for iPad/netbook, etc... The clasps in the front are a bit stiff, tough to open/close, but maybe with use they will become easier. Would've liked a back pocket to be able to stash something quickly without opening the cumbersome front. Seems like it will hold up well, especially since it is supposed to have that distressed look and feel. Overall nice bag.

The case is very nice. Getting the right cut on the skin for the top of my computer took a few tries. Remember to always start bigger you can always cut away more if needed. However the mouse pad didn't make me happy. It is pretty but the edges are sort of lifting up. Almost like the fraying on pants. For the price with the shipping I expected a little better.

OMG!!!! I just got this in the mail RIGHT NOW! It came right on time and as soon as I opened it up I started freaking out!!! ITS SOOOO ADORABLLEEE!!!!! Its super soft and fluffy! The pocket isn't that big but thats ok I expected that. ANother good thing is that its located on the pikachus back so its not visible when your wearing it and nobody can get to your stuff! It came with some tags on it and one of them was a hot topic sign that aid this product was $22!! I got this for $14! What a deal!! Although the product says its 18" tall Its more like 14" or 15" (to the top of its head, not including the ears) But honestly its the perfect size! If it was 18" it might've turned out to big.

I loved this as soon as I got it I originally bought it for a friend, and once I saw it I wanted very badly to order another one for myself. This is not for use as a school backpack, as the opening is very small. It's ideal for make-up, cell phones, etc. The material is a little bit cheap, and the stitching in Pikachu's face was a little bit wonky (leaving him with a perpetually lopsided face). Despite the defaults, it's a great product for the price :)

Tumi Luggage T-tech Gateway Ulsan Top Handle Portfolio

Bought this briefcase as a lightweight travel alternative to other Tumi briefcases which I have, but they tend to be heavy empty and even more so when loaded. The Ulsan is well made, with good hardware, and plenty of room for a computer, iPad/e-reader, charger, cables, etc. PLUS other stuff. The zippered compartments (two on the outside and one one the inside) offer good volume and security. I really like the fact that the main compartment zippers so no worries about things falling out. The main compartment is larger than it may appear in the on-line images. Finally shoulder strap is well-made with sewn in shoulder pad which is nice. Inexpensive for Tumi, expensive in comparison to other brands. My experience with Tumi is that their stuff lasts years; really!

P.S. Just noticed that the Limited One year Warranty also covers damage to the bag; not just manufacturer's defects.

I purchased this backpack thinking my 17" laptop would fit but it doesn't :( at least not in the laptop cushioned compartment but it does fit inside the backpack itself and this is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

There are tons of pockets and zippers in this bag. I LOVE IT, so many little places to put items in, the only problem I found is trying to remember which pocket I put things in.

Very padded so it feels cushiony (I know that's not a word) against your back and the straps are also cushioned.

The description says "Light Blue" but I got exactly what you see in the picture, which is what I wanted anyway!

After its long 6 years of being beaten up, traveling around the world, my last Ful backpack had to go. I looked hard for one that was similar after having such a good experience with the last one. I found this one, "Beale-Street Laptop Backpack" and I am happy to have yet another high quality product on my back. I'm in my last year of college and I can say I've tried many different backpacks and nothing beats Ful's comfortable design with too many compartments to count. The great thing is that the many compartments are all hidden throughout the backpack. You don't see gaudy zippers on every visible square inch of the backpack like other manufacturers' designs. Buy a high quality backpack and it will pay itself off in the long run.

In 2010 I bought an Oakley messenger bag. I thought it was the perfect bag, with pockets in all the right places and a style I really liked. Then one day a metal piece broke, making the strap worthless, and suddenly the entire bag was dysfunctional. I tried to buy a new one, searching the entire Internet for weeks. All I could find was in that same bag in camouflage color. If you know me, you know I would look like an idiot walking around with anything camouflage.

I found the Ful Beale Street backpack at a brick-and-mortar electronics store. I liked it because the color was the exact color of my company logo, and a lot of our things are this color. The champagne/maroon color is not easy to find. I figured I would try the bag out and return it if I didn't like it, because I had been looking for something a little more businesslike. Not only did I keep it, but I came to Amazon and bought three more. (At exactly half the price!) Let's just say I will never have a repeat of the Oakley incident. And I love this bag so much more.

Let's start by saying I am and electronics geek, and I do PR for events. I have a lot of stuff, and it takes a lot of power. I have an iPhone, two Mophie battery cases, a pair of Mophie Powerstation battery packs, and cables to go along with those. They all fit perfectly: I mostly carry the iPhone but there is an easily-accessible pocket in the bag I can put it in when it's raining. I put the spare case in the side pocket, and my mi-fi hotspot fits alongside it with room for cables, as well.

In the left side pocket I have a Jambox Bluetooth speaker it fits perfectly, although the pocket isn't as padded as I'd like with its cables and jam chain.

The front pocket fits the battery packs, but it also has room for my passport and important documents, a bunch of pens, and other items.

The small pocket in front of that is the perfect size for a normal sized wallet. With room to spare to drop in credit cards and currency. It is so easily accessible on the seat next to me when I'm driving, I can pull my wallet right out of the front at the Drive-Thru. Love that.

The pocket behind that is large, and has room for lots of stuff. It is where I put my headphones and all of the cables for my MacBook. Inside of it you'll find a pair of small pockets with Velcro, which contain my USB memory sticks they never fall out my Square card reader, and a few Bluetooth headsets. There is also a zippered compartment at the bottom of this pocket, where I keep some small accessories. Not really sure what this pocket is intended for, but I'm not complaining. Finally, you'll find a couple of small, worthless-to-me pockets that hold nothing, really. I'd love to have a few actual pen holders this bag has zero. This would have been the perfect place for them.

The main pocket is huge. I have a 13inch MacBook and a ton of folders and cascading files, and they all fit. I have used a portable dual monitor, and it fit as well. The bottom is well padded, although if I could make one change to this bag it would be to include some kind of hardshell on the bottom as well. I have read other reviews were people say bigger laptop won't fit. Mine has a lot of extra room at the top, so I don't see how that is possible, but I haven't actually tried a bigger laptop myself so who knows.

Lastly: the pocket at the very bottom, front. This is HUGE. I call it "the garage." It's not that well-padded, but I've managed to fit my Oakley glasses with their huge case, the case for my headphones, and a bunch of misc items that don't fit elsewhere, plugs and adapters and the like. There's room to spare...

The only major problem I have with this bag is that the Ful labels on the handle are glued on, and in the hot Florida sun they fall off quickly. I plan to superglue one on, but of the other is long gone. It annoys me every time I look at it. Use better glue, Ful! For most people this would probably be a non-issue...

I use this bag daily, and it is filled to the max with heavy stuff. I have had no problems with wear so far, and have been using this one for 10 months. If I can get these to last one year apiece I'm good for four years. That's what's up! At the rate it's going, I'm thinking it will go even longer.

I highly recommend this bag, if you are looking for a backpack with a ton of pockets and a lot of storage space. I almost never write reviews, so that gives you an idea of how highly I think of it.

This backpack is made of really heavy duty fabric and the lap-top sleeve inside is awesome. The laptop pouch is lifted off the bottom, so even when your laptop is in it, its not touching the bottom of the backpack, so if you drop the backpack, the laptop isn't just hitting the ground, its actually cushioned.

It has a side pouch designed to hold a laptop charging chord and power-pack (and my mouse fits in there with it) and it has a front pocket designed to hold a calculator (my TI-84 fits). (I also like to put my check-book in there on the days I'm planning on going to the bank.) The bottom pouch is perfect for small books (I use it to carry whatever novel I am reading and my Kindle Fire, it fits both simultaneously). It has another small pocket on the other side that is the perfect size for a cell phone power-pack and charging chord.

The cushioning on the straps is great, and the handle on top is heavy duty. I use the front small pouch for my pencils, pens, and glasses case. I use the one behind it for a bunch of random stuff that I like to have with me (like a deck of cards, some tums, extra pencil led/erasers, screwdrivers, etc.).

The large pouch, even though it looks small, can carry a lot of stuff (I have fit, in addition to a large water bottle and medium sized umbrella, a huge text-book, 3 (full) folders, a (full) binder, and two (one three subject, one one subject) notebooks and still had plenty of room to spare). In addition, the zippers stop half-way down the sides on the large pouch, so even if you forget to close them all the way and they open themselves just from you walking, the pocket will still contain all your books and stuff because it won't fall completely open. Also, the bottom is waterproof, so you don't have to worry about setting it down on the wet ground. It is a great backpack.

My only complaint is that the water-bottle sleeve is on the same pocket that's meant to hold the laptop charging chord and power-pack, so it can't really carry a water bottle and a charging chord/power-pack at the same time. But, I can usually fit my water bottle in the main pouch even with all my books and an umbrella in there.

The is no equal to the OGIO bags rugged and built to last. I travel constantly for work, often with tools. My OGIO bags normally weigh in at 55 pounds + when loaded, often up to the max allowable of 70 pounds. I go through airports all around the world where the bags see at least what one would consider "normal" airline abuse. This bag was bought to replace the same model that finally ate it (zipper damage) after about 5-6 years of heavy use. The damaged bag saw something like 700,000 airline miles and more than 150 flights. The wheels and bag held up perfeectly through that! Amazing to see, really! Not as amazing as seeing a short woman pull a large fish out of her nose, but still pretty amazing.

I don't have much to sat about the looks. My luggage is not a fashion accessory for me, rather a tool. So, this is a not-so-attractive tool. But, it is easy to spot on the baggage claim belt! Is it ugly? Ummm.... maybe. It depends what you like. It does not bother me, no sirree Bob.

The last thing that I expected to fail was the zipper, but it was damaged by a metal box packed in the bag. Otherwise, I see no reason why the bag would not have lasted another few years. Very much worth the money. Well made product!

I am seriously considering this pack since Ergon has ventured away from the Flex Link shoulder harness system found on this pack. The Flink as the engineers or marketers at Ergon named it, is an ingenious ball and socket means of joining the shoulder harness to the pack's frame. This connection allows for the torso of the rider to move and the shoulder straps stay in place, while the hip belt stays put as well. Since the connection points stay in place as the rider moves, the pack disappears and never torques the body.

As a self-described pack junkie, I've bought and worn too many packs to count. Most I end up giving away after a few rides because they remind me constantly that I am wearing them. I've purchased four of these Flink equipped packs so far, and keep scouring the web for those still left on the shelves. These Flink packs are the most comfortable and best carrying packs I've ever ridden with. It will be a sad day when they disappear completely. I'm stocking up for that eventuality.

If there is a drawback to these packs is is that the hip belt/semi-rigid frame configuration is bulky when trying to pack a car for a trip. It doesn't fit nicely into those nooks and crannies into which other packs disappear. I put a premium on how the pack feels when I'm wearing it, so its bulk when packing the car doesn't even figure into the equation.

I looked at a video for the product that this one was(obviously)modeled after. It appears to be an exact copy of that very,very,very expensive case. The tags and such seem to indicate Texas as the point of manufacture(I would have preferred if it was made in America...lol)I'm not the type to return an item after 99 years anyway, so I went for it. I don't think you'll be disappointed unless you want light weight, in which case I don't think you would be looking at this type of bag anyway. Just think of an image of a cowboy throwing his saddle on the back of his horse. As it is, my 18 year old son thinks this is greater than the nice laptop I got him for college.

Basically, if you like what you see in the pictures, you're going to like what you get!

If I could go back in time I would have bought the VT or Saddleback bag. This one is just not up to the same level as those other brands.

I bought this pack to jog to/from the shuttle I take to work. Turns out this little pack is great for that it will hold my toiletries and the clothes I need (I keep suit, shoes, belt and shirt at work). It also makes a great every day carry pack it's not as bulky as most packs and is just the right size for a water bottle plus some accessories. The overall quality of the materials and workmanship is excellent.

This bag is great! I used it to run from my home to my work (about four and a half miles) and I could barely tell the bag was there, except for the added weight of my work clothes. It also started raining/sleeting about half way through the run, but the bag there was no leakage into the bag, and all my work clothes were nice and dry. The one complaint I would make is that this bag is obviously not designed with women in mind. I had to adjust the chest straps to be pretty wide, which made the strapping stick out in a funny way, but this is was mostly an aesthetic thing. I would recommend this bag.
