These mesh bags are optimal travel tools, once you get the ideas of traveling light, rolling clothes rather than folding them, and making your bag a bag of little bags. In the month I have had them I have used them in appropriate (simple) bags for a three day trip to the DC area (sort of urban but not dressy) and a two week trip to northern Italy (mainly cycling, some touring).

Eddie Bauer "Weekender" Mini Diaper Bag

Although I was initially put off from this bag because it is not feminine or baby-cute (two pluses as far as my husband is concerned, and now as baby is not so new, I agree), I would not carry another bag. I have even come to enjoy the compact, black look that doesn't scream DIAPER BAG. I have noticed it's smaller than many women's purses. I own a larger diaper bag, but I find I very seldom use it, because there are so few places you really need to carry that much stuff. Although this bag is small, I think I can get in quite a bit. People have called this my clown bag, because I can pull out a few diapers, wipes, changing pad, face wipes, pacifier wipes, and three or four toys/books, a snack cup, or skip a toy and take some baby food and eating-out essentials. I put diapers in one interior pouch, and I keep bandaids and small diaper ointment packets and a tiny nose sucker in the other that's intended for bottles. I put a sippy cup in one side pocket (I nursed, so I don't know about carrying bottles), tissue pack and binky in the other, and the large front pocket is for my wallet, keys, phone, lotion, chapstick and whatnot. The thin back pocket was nice for easy access to a burp cloth when the tyke was very little. Now, I tend to shove notes or mail in there when we're running errands. In winter, I carry around a small light blanket, too, but I usually end up tying that around a shoulder strap. I know people who don't feel comfortable leaving the house without the kithen sink, and I initially felt nervous relying on so little, but it caused me to be efficient, and now I can't imagine lugging more around with me. Who needs the shoulder pain? The zipper is awesome very easy to use single-handedly. I love this with my strollers, because it slips nicely over the handle bars and isn't so heavy that it causes the stroller to keel over. Definitely recommend this bag! The only issue I have ever had with it is that my husband dropped it off of the front of the stroller and ran it over, making a small hole where it skidded along the road. For 14 months of daily use, not bad and who on earth really runs over their diaper bag?

My 2 yr old daughter goes to daycare 4 days out of the week, so this bag was used A LOT. We found it a great size for just the essentials (change of clothes, diapers & wipes), a discrete gender neutral look, and the dual zipper top access was a plus.

However, after 2 months of use we found the fabric loop on one side (attached to the bag, not to the strap) was fraying and it eventually separated all together! I thought this might have just been a fluke, but when I look at the other side it's beginning to show the same issues.

I think the problem is that the strap becomes twisted, and the rectangular plastic loop (that connects the strap to the loop of the bag) sits tall instead of wide, continuously pulling the fabric loop in a way it was not intended. A simple straight stitch flush against the rectangular plastic loop would have done wonders, its a shame it wasn't recognized in testing.

I know my husband and myself were not the gentlest with this bag, but that's just a simple design flaw. Parents shouldn't have to "baby" the baby bag.

Now that my boys are getting older I don't need a big bag to carry bottles or anything so I wanted something small enough to carry only the few items I need and this bag does the job! Fi Hi Voltron Stereo Backpack

This backpack falls apart within the first month. the headphone jack breaks away from the cable and the strap snaps with the lightest load. Try bombing in this thing and you are out of luck, hardly holds cans, and you'll have nothing to carry your things after a month.

This was a gift for someone. I did take a look at it before I bought it and found it to be a very decent product. I also tested it to hear the sound quality of the speakers. It took me several minuted to figure out how to hook it up but once you know it should be easy. One thing I don't like is that you cannot control the volume remotely, you have to reach into the pocket where the music player is in to adjust the volume which can be an annoyance. Unfortuantely the bass doesn't go very high because there is no subwoofer, but i understand that would add extra weight and use space.

Product arrived quicker than I expected, and came in excellent condition.

My only nitpick however; The metal parts of the straps were a bit weathered, and I hate that grainy, gritty feel of it when I attached them to my pack. But overall, the straps fit perfectly on my ALICE pack. The LC-1 straps that came with my pack when I received it were in excellent condition, but the lack of any real padding on them and how narrow they were made them just clamp down on my shoulders, and after about 20 minutes of walking around in the hot sun, my arms just go numb. These new straps I got solved that problem, They cover more space on my shoulders, and are very well padded. Bonus points for being in M81-Woodland, goes well with my old BDU jacket.

After almost 2 years of daily use, it occurred to me that this bag has held up incredibly well, and I just had to come here and give my two cents.

The design is simple; the laptop sleeve sits in the main pocket. There are two zipper pockets on the front, and that's it. The laptop sleeve is well-cushioned, and a velcro strap keeps my laptop from falling out when the bag is open. My laptop is only a 15", but I'm happy for the extra room the large size gives me. It holds a surprising amount of my junk, without being bulky or awkward.

I am seriously considering this pack since Ergon has ventured away from the Flex Link shoulder harness system found on this pack. The Flink as the engineers or marketers at Ergon named it, is an ingenious ball and socket means of joining the shoulder harness to the pack's frame. This connection allows for the torso of the rider to move and the shoulder straps stay in place, while the hip belt stays put as well. Since the connection points stay in place as the rider moves, the pack disappears and never torques the body.

As a self-described pack junkie, I've bought and worn too many packs to count. Most I end up giving away after a few rides because they remind me constantly that I am wearing them. I've purchased four of these Flink equipped packs so far, and keep scouring the web for those still left on the shelves. These Flink packs are the most comfortable and best carrying packs I've ever ridden with. It will be a sad day when they disappear completely. I'm stocking up for that eventuality.

If there is a drawback to these packs is is that the hip belt/semi-rigid frame configuration is bulky when trying to pack a car for a trip. It doesn't fit nicely into those nooks and crannies into which other packs disappear. I put a premium on how the pack feels when I'm wearing it, so its bulk when packing the car doesn't even figure into the equation.

I actually realized after I bought it that it was slightly larger than I'd needed (stupid me), but when it came time to return it, I just liked it too much! It's vintage, cute, and has just enough space for anything you want to carry from a waterbottle to books to a wallet to an iPod. It doesn't have a cell phone case, but I just put mine in the side pocket because I only have one water bottle on me at any time.

I LOVE this backpack, but sadly returned it because the zipper is not located on the top of the pack, like normal, but much lower down. That fact really inhibits the size of items that will fit. Sad, since it was so super cute. Just know if you get it that school folders won't fit but it would still be great for a preschool bad if it doesn't have to fit a folder.

Lowepro Fastpack 350-Black

Watch as I load the gear from my smaller bag into my new Lowpro Fastpack 350. I was using a smaller bag that I was starting to outgrow. Love the new bag it answered all my issues I was having with my smaller bag.

After around one month of using this bag extensively, I can say that I have found it to be almost exactly what I would have designed for myself! I have taken this bag with me on long commercial flights with several connections, in the car for short as well as extended trips, on four seater prop planes for aerial shoots, etc. It always also contains my 17" Macintosh laptop as well, plus two extra batteries for the laptop. I have packed this bag in "default" mode relatively full, with all the gear I would likely need for a trip for BOTH the laptop as well as the D300, the extra 105 mm Macro Nikkor lens, two lens hoods, the SB800 flash, additional filters, batteries, etc. Yes, it is of course heavy (by my choice, of course), but the key is that it can and does handle it all well. The camera is very readily accessible (albeit not with the lens hood, which would require my opening the side compartment for access), I have the comfort of knowing that I have almost everything on me that I might need for the shoot, and the portability of a very sturdy and well built backpack that fits superbly when completely cinched around the shoulders, chest, and waist. The only reason that I gave it four and not five stars is because try as I might I have not found a way to attach even my smallest tripod (except for the table top version, which is indeed already in the bag) to the bag to take with me. The cost to step up to the model that accepts the tripod is rather steep, whereas it should have been a rather simple addition to a bag of this dimensions to attach a tripod hooking mechanism. Nevertheless, despite this drawback, this is the bag that I want with me for 99% of my travels and which has become not only my #1 camera bag but frankly my #1 (17") laptop bag as well, now that I can take my laptop and camera equipment with me at all times. Great job, Lowepro!

I purchased the Fastpack 350 as a replacement for my Lowepro SlingShot 200 AW so most of this review will be a comparison between the two. After owning the SS 200 for around a year, I found that I quickly out grew it and I ultimately felt that moving up to the SS 300 or SS 350 would not do the trick. The SlingShot series is good if you do not have a lot of the extras like a filter pouch, lens hoods, spare batteries, chargers, etc., but if you have any of that gear a SS simply does not work out...and forget about carrying a book or anything else with a Slingshot.

One other aspect of the Slingshot that I ended up not liking was the single strap sling approach. At first I thought that was going to be a great feature but it was cumbersome and awkward for me...this Fastpack is much easier to simply take one arm out of the strap and swing around. That is a more natural approach and works much better in my opinion.

This bag seems to be a better fit for my needs and easily holds my Canon 50d with battery grip, 28-135mm, 10-22mm, and 50mm lens. I even have 1-2 lens spaces open depending on what is mounted and there is still room for more. I can see how this bag will hold a 70-200mm (if I am fortunate enough to aquire one).

The top storage area on the Fastpack 350 has plenty of room for the extras mentioned above and there is still room for a book and snacks on a trip. The mesh side pocket is nice, but it doesn't feel that sturdy so I will be curious how it holds up over time. The laptop compartment is very well padded and makes this bag a true must have travel companion.

As far as the size, I would consider this a large camera backpack, but it is not too large as some have suggested. The materials are good, but it does seem that the SlingShot was a bit more refined (i.e. this bag does not have a microfiber cloth attached at the side opening which was a great touch on the SS and the memory card holders on the main compartment flap are not as nice as the SS and there are two less spaces for cards which seems odd for a bigger bag?) The zippers and clasps are good, but the SS just seems like it was built with better materials.

Also, it always seems as though every Lowepro bag I have purchased (this makes #4) is missing that one thing, but this one has a couple. I am disappointed that there is not an AW cover built in...that should be automatic on a higher end, premium brand product like this. Also, why is there no tripod attachment? Give me those two features and a couple more sliplock attachments and this could be that elusive perfect bag.

All in all this is a good bag and a better alternative than the SlingShot series if you like the side entry and extra storage space.

The idea is great. I am a hiker and I always bring my DSLR when hiking.

I always wanted a way I can quickly take out the camera from my backpack

and vice versa. I thought that this product might be the one that fulfill

my wish. When I tried at home after I received it, it looked great.

I can put all the necessary items for a day hike as well as my DSLR and

a couple of lenses. The real caveat happened when I hiked in reality.

I could not close the zipper or open it while I was wearing my backpack.

Sometimes opening was OK, but when I put my camera back and tried to

close it, the zipper wouldn't work. So, I had to put off my backpack anyway,

and then I had to use both of my TWO hands to close it. Sometimes, it's

the other way. I had to put off the backpack and then open it to get the

camera, but then closing was OK. And sometimes, I have problem both in

opening and closing. But I was never able to successfully open and close

with one hand while I was wearing the backpack.

So, for me, it is exactly the same as before. I have to put off my

backpack anyway. And I was wondering then why I bought this one ... ?

Thankfully, I bought this from Amazon, and I am returning this.

I really wanted it to work for me. Sadly it isn't. And I am looking forward to

a better one which is actually working while hiking.

I examined the zipper to see whether there is something wrong in the zipper.

And I compared it with the other products' zipper that are very smooth.

I found that LowePro's critical flaw is in its low quality small zippers.

Other products' zippers were much larger, very strong, and solid, as well as

very smooth. The zippers in LowePro are not. They are rather too small.

Not smooth. And it looked so weak that you will never know when the zippers

would be broken.

And hopefully the one that can hold tripod also (This one doesn't take the

tripod. There are videos and pictures here and there that show the trick

with which you can attach the tripod on this backpack. But trust me. If you

hike and you use such method, it will never work. And you will regret in the

middle of the mountain that you brought the tripod in that way).

This is my third camera bag from Lowepro and as with the two previous, this is a very well designed product with excellent usability and build quality. This bag really meets my needs for a travel camera bag. It allows me to keep my EF 70-200 f/2.8L lens, with lens hood reversed, on my 40D and easily access it out the side opening. My only thing I would change on this bag would be that the padded storage spots for your additional lenses are a little on the small side. I have room for my EF 24-105 f/4L lens, but it won't fit with the lens hood reversed on it. I have to store the lens hood separately. Otherwise, it really meets my needs.

These backpacks are good quality considering the price. My complaint comes from not being able to specify a color, and often getting a color not advertised. We ordered 10 backpacks, and instead of the red/blue/black options given on the webpage, we got purple, lime green, hot pink, and turquoise. Nice colors, but not what we expected. On our second order we got bright orange. If you like surprises, then you will like these backpacks, but if your son won't want to carry a hot pink bag to school, you should keep looking elsewhere.

The backpacks seem decent but I regret ordering from assorted, bc where the picture show four colors I thought I might receive, I opened the box to see two bright pink backpacks. I have four boys...they didn't appreciate the color choice. If I had realized there were more colors in there assorted, I would have never order them.

I was looking for a larger but fun backpack to take as a carry on for flights. This worked and provided more room than I expected. I took it to Disneyland with me and ended up stuffing one of the character Pet Pals Pillow things in there which not only did it fit completely but I could also get my small purse, phone, kindle, water bottle, and misc other things with no problems it still fit nicely under the seat. My original order I received the orange. Since that clashed with my luggage, I ordered another and hoped for the best the second backpack received was the green which worked out great. Not sure yet if I'll keep the orange (I do llke it but do I need two backpacks??)
