The backpack is exactly what I expected, except for the color. On my computer, it looked like a light shade of olive. It isn't. It's a much darker green. So watch out for that. If you want it EXACTLY that kind of green, don't buy this.

If you're less particular, the design of this is great! I use this for school and couldn't be happier about it. It can hold my 21 pocket accordion folder and a pretty thick text book with an inch or so to spare if you want to cram it to the brim. The pockets are good for holding pens or a bottle of water or whatever. And it's so durable I can't imagine it wearing out within two years or sooner.

Look no further for the ultimate, simple backpack choice!

So I love this bag, it is really unique and wonderfully crafted. I am so glad I bought it, my problem isn't with the bag.

HOWEVER, the pictures provided are very misleading the bag is a completely different color. I went back after I got the bag and looked at the page again and it does say olive green in one place on the page, but not one of the pictures showed the color. If I were the seller I would have either A) gotten accurate pictures or B) made the color of the bag more obvious on the page itself. The bag is a very very dark olive green, and it turns out that I like it a lot but that might not have been the case. Its just a sign of laziness or sloppiness that isn't really up to par with Amazons' standards.

It's a pretty cool canvas backpack. I get complimented on it, so people like it. The straps seem a little weak, so don't load it down too heavy. Worth the money :)

I've gotten a lot of compliments on this bag as I carry it around school. The major problem is the durability of the bag. The outside fabric is really nice, but I'm having troubles with the straps. The stitching came undone on the bottom of the backpack strap, which has been a big problem. If I'm not careful, the straps will come loose and then I no longer have a strap. I also can't wear the book bag on one arm because it can't take the pressure. The inside material is really scratchy and loud which has been okay but not preferable. And the zipper on the inside pocket has already broken too.

All of the problems are minor problems, but they add up to be fairly annoying. Hopefully I should still be able to use the bag for the rest of the school year.

I have had one of these for fifteen years and it's still good! It is actually bigger than I need. It can get wet. I mostly use mine for a shopping bag, but on the rare occasion I get to go some place it hols all my over night stuff. If I had kids in school this would be there backpack for life. I'm seriouse most of the packs kids have in high school are too small and they are crappy and fall apart by the end of the year. Duluth packs save money because they take an extreamly long time to wear out.

I've been traveling for close 10 years now and have been to and lived in nearly all places of the world (minus Australia and South America) and this is a damn good bag for traveling.

I can pack in this bag everything I need for one season of traveling. The main compartment can hold: 2 pairs of pants, 7 shirts, 3 sweaters, 7 pairs of socks, underwear and a-shirts, my toiletry kit, 3-5 books (depending on the size of them), a pair of sandals (to stiffen the back of the pack) and a travel towel. The two side compartments hold my notebooks and electronics, while the front one holds my work notebook and snacks. All of this and still able to have it as a carry-on that is smaller than suitcases made for being a carry-on.

The fabric is durable and the fact that it's not stiff makes it convert from a travel pack to a day pack. it also makes it a decent pillow for temporary layovers.

Day Hiking with this bag isn't bad, but you might need to modify the bag for longer hikes.

I got the OD Green, but it's not like the kind I was used to when I was in the Marines.

Speaking of the Marines, for those military types, this is like a medium Alice pack.

I liked that all of my items are easily accessible in a compact medium sized backpack.

There are 4 compartments:

1) I use the main large compartment to carry a camping hammock, tent footprint, bivy bag, running shoes, shower shoes, documents, swim trunks, light running shirt, scarf, thermal shirt, 3 pairs of socks and underwear, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand wipes, pocket stove and small can of cooking fuel, spork, and 7 days of food.

2) I use the back outer pocket to carry a map and compass, small first aid kit, thermal blanket, cell phone and charger, and eye glass case.

3 & 4) I use the 2 side pockets for 2 Nalgene 32 OZ bottles and 1 tin cup fitted with one of the bottles.

I also like the rugged feel of the backpack.

I liked that this backpack was delivered to me very fast.

I do not like the lack of padding for my back. Its just canvas. I use my running shoes and shower shoes to provide some kind of padding.

I've had this backpack for almost 6 months now and its a good solid backpack with tons of room. No defects yet and everything still in excellent working order and I do use this daily.

Cons I do find a few things odd to me. For instance: The rear compartment, where you put the laptop, has a zipper that goes down one side and only up as high as top center. I sometimes have trouoble getting my 15.6" laptop in and out of there. I cant imagine how easy to use it would be with a larger laptop. They should have at least let the zipper go all the way across the top.

The second thing that bothers me is the shoulder straps. I'm a large guy, 6'1" 250lbs and the padded part of the strap just makes it to my chest making it uncomfortable to carry using only 1 strap, like you see school kids do, so I've been wearing it using both straps.

Pros I would like to state again that I love the room this backpack has. It might not look it but it has volumes of room. I can easily carry my laptop, charger, mouse, phone charger, large bottle of ibuprophen, hairbrush, stain stick, dayplanner, lunch, dinner, two 2 liter bottles of soda, and a couple of books and still have some room to spare.

This product is perfect for the college student. Ample interior space to lug everything around in. Great pocket storage and very sturdy. This is my second Swiss Gear purchase. I will continue to support this company.

I've had and used a SwissGear backpack since high school and well through college. Recently, I've been traveling more and the additional step of removing my notebook from my bag has been a hassle. Chances you may drop it, or even forget it at the checkpoint are constantly on your mind. My old bag provided great padding for my notebook and was still in great condition, but it was time to upgrade. This bag changed all that for me.

I found this exact bag at a local Sam's Club for just under $40 and it's fantastic. I have passed through several airports Las Vegas (LAS), Seattle (SEA), Columbus (CMH), Orlando (MCO), New York (LGA) and countless others and have not yet had an issue with this bag. The TSA reserves the right to ask you to remove your notebook from your bag even in a ScanSmart bag, but not once since I have been using this bag have exercised that need. For storage the bag has a good amount of internal and external pockets for stowing electronics and various charging cables. The pockets on the side are great for holding my notebook charging cable and a bottled beverage.

This bag is sturdy and holds up really well. SwissGear offers a 5-year warranty with most of their bags but they are such great quality I've never had to use it so I can't comment on that process. One additional tip with this bag is when passing through security; you can put your Kippie/311 bag in the pocket inside the zip down section. As you zip your bag down flat, your Kippie/311 bag is right there for placing in one of the bins. Past the checkpoint it's easy to zip it back up and be on your way without delay.

This backpack is awesome! I am a graduate student who travels often, so I really enjoy the scan smart feature and the laptop compartment is also easily accesible and nicely padded. It also has a ton of other really useful pockets that even keep me organized (which is quite a feat). Also, Swissgear backpacks last forever (my last one lasted almost 8 years). I would have given the backpack five stars except that the light grey portions of the backpack are much darker than they are pictured here.

This bag pack is big and quality products, not so much of the design though. The side pockets are with the zip which is good for not loosing items place in there but not good to put water bottle in there. but if you are just looking for a big backpack, doesn't mind the design and doesn't need to place a water bottle on the side pocket, this may be 5 stars item for you although it doesn't fit my need and I give 3 stars only.

This is a really nice backpack, seems like it holds a lot of stuff which I like and feels sturdy. I really like the simple design and the colors are easy on the eyes compared to a lot of busy/gaudy backpacks out there.

It's probably a bit large for now, but it's very well made, so he'll use it for several years. The backpack measures about 11" wide and 12" high; the lunchie is 8" x 10". The top strap of the lunchie will snap onto the backpack, meaning that the celebrant will be able to carry his own stuff (if we can convince him to wear it!) All the designs are embroidered or sewn on, not printed. This is a high-quality product.

I just got back from a two week trip to Alaska with the Lowe Alpine TT Tour 70 and could not have asked for a better bag. I am not sure that you can actually fit 70 liters into this thing, but it did fit plenty. The frame is very good quality, not a last second add-on. I could have travelled miles with the whole load on my back, but when it isn't needed it zips away into it's own pouch on the bottom of the bag. There are also two small water pouches which would fit a liter bottle, but seem better suited to 12 oz bottles. There is a small pouch on the outside, which is easily accessible and perfect for a change of clothes ( I fit a pair of jeans, underwear, socks and a shirt in here, no problem). There is also another small hidden pocket on the very top of the bag, with an integrated lanyard; good for small items like keys and wallets or anything delicate, as the pocket is well padded on all sides. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone, for travelling, trekking and even backpacking. There is very little organization, but if you are looking for a large bag, that is light and can be loaded on the hips for traveling long distances on foot, this thing is perfect.

Great backpack, easy to travel with, perfect size (so you do not pack it too heavy), great to check in for flights (you can fold the straps away). Only down side: no extra pockets on top for smaller items. Great to pack, folds open like a suitcase, so very easy to get what you want out of your back.

Amy Michelle Lexington Diaper Bag

I didn't order this from amazon, but love this bag so far. I will admit the baby isn't here yet so we haven't actually used it but this is number two for us and I like the style of it so much better than the bag we had for out first. It seems as though it will be big enough for all of our needs and I love that it has a zipper closure on top. Our other bag didn't and the contents would fall out and roll all over my car. Also love that it has a pocket meant just for mom's (or dad's) stuff. I will try to remember to update this when we actually start using it but it really is a very pretty bag and I can't wait to use it.

So disappointing....the design is beautiful and it's truly a unique diaper bag which could also function as an everyday bag/purse. I did SO much research before finally deciding on this one. I wanted something I could put on my back if necessary but also carry like a tote and messenger which this does all 3. So I went to put it on my back as a backpack and it pinched my arm so hard I have a huge welt on the side of my arm...ouch! I'm not actually sure what pinched me...think it was just the straps moving on the back. But it was empty and now I am worried if I actually fill it up and try to throw it on my back that it will pinch me again. Just not sure that it's really meant well to be a backpack if that makes sense. The straps are flimsy and I can't see it holding a lot of weight comfortably and without pinching. As a messenger bag, it's cute and would be functional. Probably going to have to send it back b/c for $70 I really wanted something to use as a backpack. :(

While this is not the most glamorous bag it is very practical and offers great organization. It has plenty of room for my children's stuff as well as mine. It has just enough pockets to keep things well organized without having too many pockets so that I forget where I have put things. The straps are not the most comfortable for wearing long periods of time but the versatility of backpack and shoulder strap is great. We got this as a gift for our 1 1/2 year old. It says ages 3 and up, but all the small pieces are sewn on, so I feel comfortable letting her use it under supervision. She loves to put small toys in and take them out again, put it on and follow her big brother (with his school backpack) all around and snuggle the bear. We take this (with some toys in it) in the car and on small trips and it keeps her entertained for a while. It is quite light weight so I would't put books or anything heavy in it, but it has held up fairly well. It is really soft and snuggly as well as being cute. The straps are too big for baby, but she only wears it for a few minutes anyway, and they are adjustable so I think as she grows she will continue to enjoy it. We like it so much we have bought some as gifts for friends who have admired it and they rave about it too.

I ordered this for my granddaughter's upcoming first birthday based on the fact that the description said the manufacturer's recommendation was for age 6 months and up. It arrived today and the first thing I saw was the very prominent tag saying age 3 and up. The bear has bead eyes and it is decorated with small sewn on bows. This is not a safe toy for a one year old toddler. However, it is adorable and very light weight for a small child to use. I will save it till Amelie is a little older.

My granddaughter wanted a back pack that she would be able to take to church with her on Sundays. She is only 18 mos., so I was limited on choices that would be small enough for her and yet cute and practical. When this arrived in the mail, I was extremely pleased. When she opened it at Christmas she was thrilled as was her parents. She uses it all the time and everybody that sees it think it's the cutest bag they have ever seen. It was well worth the money and it is used wherever they go. It is very, very, cute.

My husband and I are always looking for better bags for geocaching. We've gone thru several. I've even used small lunchboxes. I like how it is small and very comfortable. I can even stick my gps in the pocket in the front when I don't have my gps on. When it is in use I can hook it to one of the many hooks on the front.

Only thing I don't like is how easy someone behind me can access my bag too. Wish there was a way to lock it in the closed position with small locks or something.

I'm very glad I found this bag because it's ideal for my needs . It holds 3 20oz sport drink bottles side by side perfectly in the main compartment with enough space above them for an extra t-shirt or a hand towel, the pouch on the strap holds my phone and keys, and I use the outer compartment for concealed carry (Kel-tec PF9. I don't think a full-size will fit, but I haven't tried.). There are also 2 smaller compartments within the larger one. One has a zipper, and the other has a velcro strap to close it. However, I only use the zipper (for all the other crap I normally keep in my pockets) one because they are arranged one on top of the other, which limits their use when the main compartment is full. I can't comment on durability since I've only had the bag for 3 days, but it seems well-made and strong enough for its size.

I got this bag to use as a sling purse. I wanted something that would hold my stuff plus my son's glucometer and other diabetic supplies. It is perfect. Not too big, not too small. I have the following in it if anyone wants to be able to picture what it will hold. (of course, you have to know what some of this stuff is to picture it)

Billfold, chapstick, small box of mints, pack of gum, eye drops (4 oz.), glucometer test kit, M&M minis tube, remote for son's insulin pump, three insets (site changes for pump), various alcohol wipes, IV3000, etc., granola bar, keys. I *think* that is everything. It also holds my cell phone and iPod touch in the front pouch meant for a cell phone. Great little bag!

I love how it unclips so I don't have to put the strap over my head to get it on or off, and how I can slide it around to the front to get into it without taking it off. I've finally found the perfect purse!

Although it doesn't make a good alternative for a backpack or messenger bag, this sling is lightweight, durable, and waterproof. I'm a student, and I'm able to hold all the things I need on a day to day basis, such as my clutch-sized wallet, Droid X, iPod, and a small notebook (all decently sized items). I've even managed to fit my WD desktop-size external hard drive in the bag at one point. As a last note, I'd say that the cell phone pocket is more of a keys pocket--most phones won't be able to fit in a pocket that size. The only downside, I'd say, is I try to put more stuff in there than I can manage because I want to take it everywhere with me. :) A great alternative for people who need something purse-sized but hate the strap always falling down. Definitely 5 stars.

Lego Minifigure Backpack

This is really cute. The minifigures look 3D on the bad. I bought him 2 lego bags last year for school and they lasted all year. If your child loves Legos get them this bag.

I had to get a new backpack for my son because he just HAD to rip his old one that I got for him at the beginning of the school year. I bought this for my 4.5 year old for full day preschool. It is a regular sized backpack, which means it looks a little big for a preschooler, but most are at that age. When he lines up at school, the boys behind him like to look at the different mini-figures on the back. They like the ninja guy (who doesn't?). The main compartment is large and can hold plenty of stuff. The front compartment is less practical. I tried to put something in it, and noticed the image plate (which is a very stiff, plastic piece) was starting to come through the seam that connects the zipper. To solve that, I just don't use the front compartment. It's been used for 4 months now, and the zipper still works. I anticipate it will last through the end of the year, but my son is very gentle with his belongings.
