I bought this for my daughter who is just starting 1st grade, thinking it would be a fun backpack for her. Well, it's fun, and it's cute, but there's no way it could be used as a backpack in any serious sense of the word. This would barely hold a sack lunch. Snugpak Bergen Pack,

I love this pack. I've taken it on several hikes and two camping trips since I bought it a month ago. It easily carries all the gear I need for summer excursions and I haven't got anywhere near filling its 100 liter capacity. I can't wait until this winter to load it with my four-season equipment and extra clothes.

A very nice design feature is that the way the bag expands upwards and not out means that when only half filled the excess fabric can be rolled up and compressed by the straps on the top flap.

An odd design feature is that the water bladder pouch is on the left wall of the pack. This means that unless properly packed the pack would lean to one side. I've remedied this by packing items that I readily need into it such as my hatchet, folding saw, climbing rope, and trekking poles. For the bladder I use a low profile pack like the CamelBak Thermobak worn between my back and the pack.

All in all the best pack I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot. I'm continually updating it; for example I've added a MOLLE utility pouch to the hip belt to store binos, flashlights, granola bars, notebooks, etc.

Other reviews are correct, this is not the real thing and is made in china. You just have to remember at 6100cu, its the largest and well priced pack on the market. I mean....if bug out happens would you rather a smaller back that is better made, or something and can shove a ton of food into. I'm looking for storage space. I can wear the same clothes over and over and keep washing them, but I can't magically make food appear. I have my survival knife and fire stuff and a ton of wilderness knowledge, I can make shelters and a decent hold over out in the middle of no where, but I can't make my pack hold more items, especially food. This pack is worth it.

This is made in China and it shows.

1. I'm extremely worried about the stitches that join the shoulder straps to the top of the bag. I expected the classic "X" pattern bar tacks, but there are only single horizontal bars of stitches, and not very thick. This is a big bag that really needs more bombproof straps.

2. I was lead to believe this had some sort of internal adjustable frame. NOT SO! Inside the bag are sewn-in strips of webbing that form two vertical channels, apparently made to accept two aluminum stays WHICH WERE NOT INCLUDED!!!! WHAT NOW?! Am I supposed to stuff this giant bag to max capacity every single time, in order to get some rigidity?! Or am I supposed to fashion my own stays?! Or am I expected to make a bunch of complaints to get some stays mailed to me?! I do not want this giant pack sagging & pulling down on my shoulders all day long!

Meh. I think she's going back.

I purchased two of the Snugpak Bergen packs for use in packing trips. The packs themselves seem to be more than ample for carrying a full load, but the material around the top inner flaps is really badly sewn. In fact, one of the packs was torn in multiple places around the entire top. I have a seamstress that can repair it, but wanted to try and get a replacement first. The operative word being "TRY". I contacted the seller UNBEATABLE SALE, INC to find out what I needed to do to replace this item since it did arrive in defective condition. I got an email ONE WEEK later informing me that they would "check with the warehouse to see HOW THIS MIGHT BE DONE" like they didn't even know how to handle a simple exchange. 18 DAYS LATER I received another email telling me that they had no more of these in the warehouse and that I should go to the MANUFACTURER to see about a replacement. Of course (very predictably), the manufacturer sent me an email the following day after I sent them a note inquiring about this that I should "go to the company you purchased the item from they are the only ones who can replace it for you. If you'd like it repaired, you can ship it to us (at your cost) and the cost of repairing the item will be a stock fee of $100 plus our labor and any materials. We will then ship the item back to you and will charge you for the return shipping at that time".

The moral of the story STAY AWAY FROM UNBEATABLE SALE INC. Their customer service is less than professional, and they will not help you.

The pack itself gets 4 stars because of its capacity and function. The seller gets 1 star because their customer service sux!

Case Logic RBP-117 17.3-Inch MacBook Pro/Laptop Backpack with iPad/Tablet Pocket (Black)

I received this backpack as part of the Amazon Vine Program which means I received it free in exchange for providing this review. That said, I was excited to get the opportunity to check it out since I have a laptop backpack from HP that, though much loved, is ultimately falling apart.

I waited to review this until I had a chance to take it on a trip (I'm not a student these days so my backpacks mostly serve as laptop protective luggage). As I did this weekend, here's my review.

So here are my thoughts:

1) Laptop size: GREAT

My engineering workstation laptop has a 17.7" screen which frankly is almost impossible to find any sort of case for. It does fit in this. So that made me happy.

2) Stitching. GREAT

The sewing seems very sturdy. Having not lugged it around through an entire semester or more, I can't faily compare it, but tugging at it shows it seems pretty secure and the fabric it's anchored to at stress points is very reinforced. (That was the problem with my older HP laptop backpack is that it ripped at the weak points)

3) Zippers. APPEAR QUALITY.

Big heavy duty zipper. Again without wear it's hard to say but the heavy coated and smoothed teeth don't seem likely to break or jam soon.

4) Pocket Variety. GOOD.

There are ton of different pockets...frankly I keep finding more. Other than the two large ones (back one is the laptop pocket and the one in front of that is for books or whatever) and the front one (presumably for your tablet if you really need to pack two types of computers) there are many little small ones. Some inside the other pockets, some on the sides, one right against your back (presumably for important papers, but I'd never use it as it seems awkward) and a little one on top that to my mind would fit a cell phone very handily so you can find it when it rings. So for pocket variety, it's a win. For useful pockets...maybe 70-80% are ones I'd actually use. The rest I might stuff random things into just if I needed to fit in one more thing but probably not otherwise.

5) Padding. EXCESSIVE.

Honestly there so much padding it's bulky. I don't plan to throw my electronics out of speeding trains or fifth story windows. While it's comfortable it also means you can fit less in it and that it's heavier even when empty. I shiver to think how long it would take to dry out if you ever got it wet.

6) Capacity. NOT BAD, BUT COULD BE BETTER

To me this is the part that makes me think I'll likely use the HP backpack for a while longer. This backpack isn't actually that much smaller (it doesn't expand out as far)than mine, but the padding really cuts down on space. As I'm not a student, my HP is what I use to travel with. It's nice to be able to use it as my "smaller" carry on and the extra cargo room comes in handy. This one can fit about two pairs of sneakers less over all which is quite a lot less. That said, it IS fairly spacious compared to many backpacks, so it might be just fine for you. I don't know that you'd want it a lot bigger...but if it was differently designed to expand out just a bit further and only pad where it's really needed, you'd get more.

7) Finishes. AWESOME

This is what really wowed me. There's lots of little details I never thought about but like a lot. Like the cell phone pocket. Or the fact that when you adjust the straps they roll up with a velcro snap so they don't dangle down. Very sturdy and polished. Pockets are secure, straps are highly engineered. A little handle near the bottom even...handy for picking it up to say, shove in an overhead bin. Lots of little things I never even though of but are pretty cool.

8)Comfort. ACCEPTABLE

Straps are very comfortable. It seemed to carry a bit "high" for me though which made my shoulders a bit hurty when fully loaded for a while. It has to do with the wideness of the straps at the top which won't let it slide lower down comfortably and so had me adjusting it up to keep it from feeling awkward. I'm calling it acceptable though because overall it wasn't bad. Good weight distribution otherwise (wide straps were nice for that). No cutting even when heavy, easy to grip from top and with one strap.

All in all a really pretty good backpack. It's not perfect, but having never found a perfect backpack to date, I'm giving it 5 stars. My HP (best I've ever had) wins on capacity but this one beats it on construction (I'm pretty sure) and nice extra features. Chances are there are people who will love it. I certainly plan to use it again.

Oh bag makers. You labor over nice details like iPad pockets, you add velcro in all the right places, you fret over how the straps adjust. Yet consistently, in pack after pack, you overlook the most basic and important area of protection for the most expensive item the bag is intended to carry: the bottom of the laptop !! Do they actually test these bag with real laptops? It's beggars the mind to think they wouldn't be alarmed at an ominous THUNK when thinly protected MacBook aluminum meets hard pavement. All it would take would be 50 cents of padding sewn into the bottom of the bag, and yet, they can't seem to make that effort.

Two stars subtracted from an otherwise great bag for this glaring error.

This is a very good backpack, and the description in the site was exactly what I got. I bought it to replace an older case logic backpack I had (cannot remember the model number) that served me very well for many years. It is well built, with nice features like a chest strap, and it is not excessively large, like other backpacks that try to fit even 17" models. My mac book pro 15" fits nicely and it feels secure.

My only reason not to give it five stars is that the notebook compartiment could be better padded at the bottom. In my previous one, the notebook fitted in a large padded pouch in the compartiment, so it would not touch the bottom of the backpack itself. Besides that, the bottom was also padded. With this one, when I put it on the floor the first few times I felt that the notebook was not been as isolated from the impact as I expected. I ended up fitting a piece of packaging foam to the bottom of the compartment, and that solved the problem. If that was included in the design, I'd give it five stars, no doubt.

If you sport a 17 inch laptop, this is your backpack! Look no further.

When I purchased this item from Amazon, I made sure to consider ALL of my options and alternatives beforehand. In the end I narrowed it down to this Case Logic backpack vs. the Swissgear Pegasus 17' bag. I was drawn to the Swissgear backpack because of it's sleek and sexy design; however, I felt it wouldn't fully serve the purpose I expected from a backpack. In the end, I chose Case Logic and am extremely satisfied with the product.

This Case Logic backpack is ideal for me because of the following reasons:

I needed a backpack that would offer enough space to fit my gigantic 17' HP Envy laptop. This does the trick.

The backpack needed to offer padding support for my (expensive) laptop, which is a concern with most people, and this definitely offers excellent padding support.

I travel VERY often and needed something that would be easy to lug around while also offering extra room for additional clothing, toiletry items, snacks, documents, AND my camera equipment. I've traveled with this thing all over Europe, Mexico and USA and all the while I fit my Canon t2i with two lenses, a GoPro with a small tripod, and a battery charger for both cameras ALONG WITH the laptop and everything else mentioned above.

The "secret pouch" on the back is so convenient...I mostly kept my passport and wallet there while travelling.

The backpack is comfortable to wear as a result of the custom straps and padding on the back.

I LOVE the two Compression Straps on the front sides of the backpack!! It's a convenient way to quickly and easily put away a bulky jacket or towel which you might be travelling with.

The backpack is made from a sturdy and thick enough material where I don't need to worry about a hole developing on the bottom if it is placed on the ground or dragged anywhere.

Initially I worried that the backpack might look too large or be ugly compared to the other options I looked at. Boy was I wrong, the size of this product is just perfect and it looks extremely sexy with the black finish and shiny highlight on the front.

The backpack stands up, super convenient!!!

It has a handle at the bottom, makes it super easy to stow the backpack under a seat in an airplane or move it around in such confined areas.

Now the cons of the backpack:

My only concern with the backpack is the stitching of the shoulder straps...I've owned the backpack for about 6 months now and have noticed that the stitches have start to come undone. I'd hear them snap after I'd put on the backpack. Luckily, Case Logic has stitched the shoulder straps all the way across the top of the backpack which gives them more strength and allows for more durability. I assume this problem exists because I fit so many things in the backpack...but it hasn't come undone and if it ever does, I wouldn't mind stitching them back up!

I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this backpack to anyone looking for such features, whether you are a frequent traveler, a weekend traveler or a college student with one too many books or electronic gadgets in your hand. I also use it as my every day coffee house bag when I have emptied the backpack and have down time.

I really enjoy having this backpack after finally letting go of my Targus backpack. This one came highly recommended on Amazon, so I decided to give it a shot. When I first received it, I immediately noticed that there was a very large amount of space in the front two compartments and the laptop compartment is very well padded.

One of the best perks of this bag is that there are actually two spaces for tablets, one with the laptop and one in the front pocket. Nice when you have a personal and a work tablet. The laptop compartment was very well suited for my MacBook and my Asus Transformer tablet. The first compartment after that was able to hold 3 large textbooks and 3 pads of paper. The front compartment was also large with various places to arrange smaller items. Another very fun feature of this backpack is the lumbar stash which is very well manufactured and easy to get to while walking. It also has two compression straps that allow you to carry odds and ends, such as an umbrella, a rolled up coat, it even held my heavy jacket. The side pockets are well made, each is spacious enough to fit a TI-84 calculator with ease and my keys (with the built-in keychain) and my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2).

Overall the backpack was very good, there is a lot of padding on the back and it is also designed to stop your back from sweating. I enjoy having a lot of space for everything that I carry on a daily basis and very much so enjoy how big the backpack actually is, as it goes all the way down my back (6'3" Male) and does not awkwardly stop halfway down. I would definitely recommend this to anybody, student or professional.

Glo Bag: Ladies Gym Locker Organizer Bag in Lime Green

I purchased the bag as a reward for getting back to the gym. The three-shelf system does a great job of separating items in the bag to keep everything at hand and to keep stinky shoes separate from clean clothes. What isn't as easy to see from the website or description is that there are hard board inserts to make each shelf stable. Each shelf also has snaps to keep is steady if you don't use the boards. I also purchased the optional toiletries bag and now use that toiletries bag for not just my gym needs but for any traveling. I keep it fully stocked for weekend trips all the time and it doesn't add any additional bulk to the GLO bag when I throw it in for the gym.

Despite the initial appearance that it's a small bag, it is deceptive. I want to add that I am a plus-sized woman and go to the gym after work. My larger-woman work clothes (sweaters and slacks) still fit in the bag as well as my low heels (winter boots won't fit). Adding a towel and shower wrap makes it really tight, but I can still fit it all in. I imagine smaller people have tons of room for their clothes. Also, even when it's crammed full, it's still easy to carry on my back without being heavy. I only use one strap (ala college) and the design of the bag actually keeps it flat against my back, even with just the one strap making it even easier to carry.

The side pockets are nice. I can keep headphones and my gym lock in one and the mesh pocket holds a standard-sized water bottle (after finagling for a second). The cell-phone holder is useless. Not even my old slim tiny flip phone fits into, much less ANY phone currently on the market certainly not my new iPhone, even without the case. The zippers came with little GLO tabs, but they all fell off within a week (found them in my garage, office floor, gym locker, etc.). Zippers still work fine, though.

Despite the cost of this bag, I still love it. I wish it came in a red or more vibrant color, but I think it is totally worth it!

This is a great idea for a bag. It fits a lot of items. The only reason I gave it 4 vs. 5 stars is because the straps add some bulk to the width and I have to shove it in and wiggle it out of a Planet Fitness locker. Otherwise it is great.

I have owned this version of the North Face backpack for several years. I found it to be a great product for use in both a college setting and also on some pretty rigorous trips (Egypt, Palestine, Haiti, etc).

Pros: SizeYou can fit lots of stuff in here.

Inner slip pocketthis works well for smaller laptops or a Camelbak. There is also a hole for the camel bak hose built in as well.

Bottom compartmentthere is a bottom compartment with is accessible via its own zipper and separated from the main compartment by a fabric "shelf" which can be unhooked. This is great for all kinds of uses and allows you to get into the pack without going through everything in the main compartment.

Side mesh pockets and tie down straps great for everything from water bottles to camera tripods, to umbrellas. Plus, the tie-down straps tighten around them, holding items in place.

Verticool systemthe hard frame and mesh skeleton allow for some breathing and with the waist and chest straps make this a very useable and comfortable pack for serious day hiking.

Cons: Size This can be a very big pack if you fill it.

Laptopsthere is no padded laptop section. The inner sleeve was too small for my 15" Macbook. However, this can be remedied by just buying a soft sleeve for your laptop. I have carried my laptop all over Europe and elsewhere and never had it suffer.

If you are looking for a daypack that can serve you equally well in an academic or a field situation, this is great.

This backpack is rugged, and trendy. It could fit my 13" laptop (with its own protection sleeve) easily, and it will be able to fit a 15" as well. It has 1 main compartment which is spacious and it has access from another bottom zip which makes it really convenient to retrieve stuff that's packed at the bottom of the bag (great thinking from the makers). It has a water bag compartment, and straps for poles, making it a fantastic back pack for a day hike, and could even last for 2-3 days if you're a light packer. It is also versatile so can be used as a day pack for daily commute.

Domke 700-J5C J-5XC Shoulder Bag (Black)

Pretty Good

This minimalistic bag is the perfect size for my needs. It fits my Nikon D5100 with 70-300mm zoom attached, a 35mm 1.8 and an 18-55mm (soon to be upgraded to a 16-85mm, which will also fit), plus a Canon S95 point and shoot, filters, memory cards, charger and spare battery. Not much room for anything else, besides a magazine and airline ticket/passport. I don't yet have a an external flash, but I think it might be a very tight to cram an SB900 into the bag along with the other stuff. Anyway, after hours of searching online, this was the one I found that best met my needs, mainly due to its size.

I wanted a bag that is as compact as possible with just enough room for the essentials, while being durable and providing decent protection for my gear. It's small enough to put into a larger backpack when I travel or need to carry more stuff, which allows for maximum flexibility. For me, this is ideal, because if I need to carry more than what this bag can hold, a backpack is much more comfortable. I plan to get the Lowepro CompuDay Photo 250 backpack and slip this Domke bag inside of it as a carry-on bag. Hopefully it'll work out well.

The entire inside of the bag (except for the the top) are lined with a padded fabric that the velcro-edged partitions will stick to, allowing for easy configuration. The front flap that covers the bag is secured by a large strip of velcro, and there's a zipper underneath to open the bag (which I leave unzippered when I'm in picture-taking mode). A second zipper opening at the bottom of the front panel allows for access to lenses or anything else at the bottom of the bag. There are two open pockets on the front panel, but they're fairly shallow (don't know why they didn't just extend the height of the pockets by a couple of inches to the top of the bag). There's also a flat open pocket on the back of the bag that is good for tickets/passport or a folded up newspaper or magazine.

Everything's well made and the quality of the "ballistic" nylon is top notch (though I wouldn't trust it as a bulletproof shield if you're traveling in Afghanistan). The strap appears to be made of heavy duty cotton/canvas webbing with anti-slip strips on the underside. The swivel hooks and plastic fittings are of high quality. I wanted a bag that is low key and doesn't look like a camera bag, and this fits the bill nicely. It looks like a non-descript shoulder bag. Some have complained about the large, red Domke logo on the front. On mine, the logo is dark green and is almost unnoticeable against the black bag. Looks like they've responded to customer suggestions on this. I like the new low-key logo, however it's easily removed, if desired, by picking loose the threads on the logo patch.

I was originally looking for a bag this size, but a little thicker so it could hold a netbook. I wasn't able to find one, but upon receiving this bag, I found the perfect solution the rings (to which the shoulder strap attaches) on my 10" netbook case just happen to line up perfectly with the rings on the Domke bag. I simply placing the netbook bag in back of the Domke, then attach the Domke shoulder strap to the rings on both bags. Works great and it feels as if they were a single unit.

How this bag could be improved:

The strap should have some kind of shoulder pad included. The strap alone, while well made, can get uncomfortable if carrying a full load for awhile. No doubt they're hoping you buy the add-on pad that Domke sells separately, which has mixed reviews. I'm going to look for another pad, instead of having to buy a complete new strap.

Small collapsible pockets on the sides would be good for a water bottle or other small items, though there is a loop on each side, to which a bottle holder can be attached w/ a carabiner. Small pockets on the inside of the top flap would also help.

For the bag's price, I think it's reasonable if some of these things were addressed. If this was done, I'd have given it 5 stars.

When I first bought this I was ecstatic. It has all the pockets and organization that I expected and needed. I travel a lot for work so the whole scan fast thing is a must for me. Unfortunately this also means that I use it all the time. And that's how the shoulder strap broke off while walking through the airport. Even worse, this happened about 4 months after I bought the thing. I even tried just carrying the thing by the handles after that. Now (about another 4 months later) even the handles are breaking off of it. When I pay for quality I expect just that. I guess all I really payed for was that little alien head on the front. And I payed too much for that. Don't waste your money.

The Mobile Edge Alienware Orion bags have everything that you would expect for a high end laptop messenger bag . . . lots of storage pockets, pen holders, card holders, flash drive pockets, etc. Unfortunately, the bag fails in its primary purpose: portability of the Alienware M18x.

The M18x is one of the largest and heaviest laptop computers on the market. The M18x fits snugly into the messenger bag. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not appear to have strengthened the stitching to enable the bag to support the weight of the M18x and power supply during routine travel. I purchased my M18x in August 2011 along with the messenger bag. The first messenger bag lasted about 2 weeks before the shoulder strap separated from the bag due to its inability to support the weight of the M18x and power supply. I returned the bag to Amazon and received a new one. The new bag lasted about 3 weeks before one of the carrying handles snapped off while I was going through airport screening. I have now returned this second bag to Amazon and am seeking a replacement bag for my M18x.

Unless the manufacturer strengthens the stitching to accommodate the M18x and power supply, stay away from this bag.

This bag is horrible. The handles broke after a month of use. The shoulder strap is still in tact--but barely. I was led to believe that this bag was made for the Alienware 18-inch laptop, but clearly the quality is NOT up to par. DO NOT BUY THIS BAG! I am very disappointed to learn that I will only get a partial refund when I return this bag. :( GRRRR!!

After only three months of dealing with mobileedge and HP I once again have a working laptop and a new bag. I wouldn't have had to deal with Hp if my laptop didn't break partly due to the poor construction of the bag.

I had no idea how poorly their laptop bag was constructed until after comparing it to some other name brands, and other quite cheap bags.

The problem is not the quality of the materials but failure of design on the various points which will carry the weight such as the shoulder strap connections, shoulder-strap and from what I read the handle itself. I would be less upset if this had occurred after 12 18 months, but less than four weeks?

If you do much travel or have an 18" laptop then the current M18x is not for you. Or to put it another way, it is like a high performance sports car with safety belts made of string cheese.

I have gone through TSA inspection points at several airports both in the US and abroad and have only had to zip open the case and lay it flat on the inspection belt. I found this bag when looking for a new messenger-style laptop bag for my 15.6" Toshiba Satellite laptop. I was hesitant to buy, as I wasn't sure it would fit (but I took a chance, since it was only 0.2" larger than the specs stated will fit). Well, it did and it didn't. The laptop compartment was just barely too tight to fit my laptop, but it fits quite easily in the main compartment, which is nearly as well padded as the laptop compartment. I love the water resistant material and the drawstring that snugs everything up for running through the rain or just for security. My fiancé, after checking the bag out, was hoping I'd give it to him since it didn't fit my computer perfectly. When I rejected his offer to take it off my hands, he ended up buying one for himself. I bought this product for a friend who had a laptop, but was sleeveless. I would give this product a 5 star, but 1 star taken off because I wasn't careful enough to read the product description carefully. The product says "Dot No 8", which is NOT what amazon put as the picture above. The product is actually a multi-colored polka dotted sleeve. I already sent a message to amazon about a picture fix, but I don't know when that will happen. Anyways, this product was nice. Like the review below, the nice part is that you can remove the laptop from your backpack, while still keeping the sleeve in your backpack. I like the sleeves "curvature", wrapping itself around your laptop.

This is a great product, but I learned my lesson to make sure to read the product description, not the product picture!

I have an older HP Pavillion that fits just fine, along with an iPad and Kindle-all these (and more) fit fine in this bag. Not to mention there is plenty of room for all the "extras" people take with them. I use this bag for commuting to and from work and errands; I use it for a few extra books, chargers, water bottles, phone, sunglasses, sun block, and lunch. The pack holds all this and there is plenty of room for more.

The pack itself is heavy nylon; it feels thick, not a cheap thin material that might be more apt to wear holes in the bottom or sides. The metal zippers and straps are heavy metal, not plastic where there might be a higher chance of breakage. The back of the pack that is against your back is padded, so even if you are hauling a heavy load, you have less chance of something poking you in the back when you shift. The pack also has stabilizer straps to keep the pack in place. I personally do not use them, but I know my kids find these can be helpful when biking or carrying heavy loads. The best part of the pack is the "Safe Zone" located at the top front of the pack. It is perfect for a phone, sunglasses or camera because it is made with a hard outer shell that keeps items inside from getting smashed. I love that they thought of this AND it works perfect and is easy to get too.

Whether this is the exact "design" you are looking for, keep Thule in mind, I have yet to have a problem with their products. I know I sound like a salesman, but the products truly are quality. I have not had to call customer service or file any sort of complaint with the company. So I cannot report on how well their customer service is at this company. Hopefully, I never will need to call them!

This is the perfect commuter daypack for busy people who need to have a 15" laptop/ notebook with them. The outer cover against the back is well-padded, providing a laptop protection from drops, hits or whatnot. A center compartment can carry the cords and other accessories, and a third outer compartment can carry smaller stuff like cellphone/charger, sunglasses and other business-related stuff. A "Safe Zone" on the outer side is for fragile or smaller items and is nicely padded against slams, drops or hard hits in that area.

When this pack is fully loaded it spreads out nicely but does not hamper movement, as the sides to this pack are narrow.

The pack is, as shown, all black with some blue zipper covers. Empty this pack weighs 2.4 pounds, so that alone should limit the use to urban commuting with electronics. This would not be a good gym bag as none of the compartments are large for bulky items, nor would this be an ideal backpack for day hikes for the same reason because most of the padding is centered against the back to protect a laptop. I also would not recommend this as a carry-on for the same reasons already stated unless you are a minimalist. The best use for this pack is for the office person or commuter.

Compression straps on the side help keep the load streamlined. There is one small mesh pouch on either side of the pack for 16-ounce water bottles.

The color is basic black, which is ideal for business environments.

As far as the construction goes, this backpack seems quite sturdy. It has adjustable chest and hip straps for stability. it also has front to back straps to compress the volume if the pack is not full. The sections that are padded are quite sturdy, and there are loads of pockets. A semi-hard pocket is on the outside for easy accessibility of sunglasses or a small electronic device.

Unfortunately, the chest strap will not go high enough to avoid pinching a female chest, and the straps over the shoulders are way too broad for me. Also the shoulder straps are too long for my shorter torso and cannot be adjusted to fit, even at the tightest adjustment.

This would probably be a great pack for a gentleman carrying an ipad or laptop, but it just didn't work for my short torso and fuller figured frame.

If you child runs, it can unclip and bam you just holding the harness and your child is still running away. Don't buy this!!! At least not until the clip is replace with a better one.
