The sleeve fits my 13.3 inch MacBook Pro perfectly. I had been wanting a sleeve that would fit for the longest time, and this serves the purpose just fine. The padding is adequate for carrying it around in a backpack or purse, depending on what you're going to put your laptop through; some might require more, others less. The design is vibrant and the butterfly colorful, and the zipper area is padded with a hidden track so as not to scratch your laptop. The initial smell is not the most pleasant, but I'm hoping this will fade in time. Otherwise, it's a great buy at a decent price and is a unique alternative to the typical solid color, obscenely priced sleeves that one finds at your usual retailer of such products.

This is a well-padded, tight-fitting sleeve that fits my 13" macbook pro perfectly. It's cute too, but looks a little cheaper than I expected somehow maybe the white part is a bit more gray or something? Not a big deal though, it's fine and does what I need it to and it has a butterfly on it so I'm happy.

This is a cute laptop case, I use it for a MacBook however it's a bit on the pricey side for what you get. They also have a matching shoulder bag case but that's pretty expensive as well. Very cute pattern though and the quality is good.

For the price, I didn't expect much. I also couldn't be too demanding, because I have a Dell XPS 13 and was having a hard time finding close matches to its dimensions.

Manhattan Portage Wallstreeter Messenger Bag

This bag will last forever! I had used it daily for the last 10 years carrying a laptop, notebooks and an insulated lunch bag. The fabric used to make this bag was very tough and it resisted all kinds of stain and daily abuse from the NYC subways and buses. The only thing that did not survive its 10 year journey is the shoulder strap. I replaced it last year because its metal hinges finally gave out after years of heavy lifting.

This bag is very comfortable to wear. It can be worn messenger bag style, or like a backpack. There is even a comfortable handle on top to carry it like a suitcase. The inside is very roomy and there is a zipper along the edge that you can unzip to give you twice as much storage. There are plenty of pockets inside and outside the bag to hold misc small items and magazines.

I'm giving this bag 5 stars. Even though I had to replace the shoulder strap, I could not fault the bag nor MP because the original strap lasted almost as long as I had this bag! As of this writing I no longer have this bag because I gave it away to someone who needs it more than I do. I am very impressed with the quality and build of this bag and I will even venture a guess that this bag will last through another 10 years of daily abuse in someone else's hands.

I originally purchased this bag in 1989! Before you could make it into a backpack. I loved it I used it loyally for almost 10 years ! Then it was stolen. So I decided to try other makers & bag styles. After another 10 years I went back to Manhattan Portage. Sorry to say that the bag has gone down hill.

Minuses

The 2 pockets under the flap are smaller and taper in at the bottom. The zippers are all not as "butch" which worries me but only time will tell. I'm glad that the expansion fixture is unchanged it was why I bought the bag 20 years ago and why I bought it again. The webbing underneath the expansion zipper was wider which gave the bag better shape both expanded and un-expanded.

Pluses

The new small pocket at the top of the bag is great for phone or mp3 player. I wish it was lined with a softer fabric. The strap seams stronger and better padded and the plastic clips have been replaced with metal (the plastic clips are the only thing that ever failed on my old version).

I did the inflation calculation and the bag I got in 1989 would be about $160 now which I would pay if it was of the same quality. This bag is about right at $115.

Well...it didn't come with anything cool inside of it but that's my only gripe. I mean, if I owned a bag company I'd put a mystery prize in every bag...a deck of cards, a scarf, whatever. Anyway, I thoroughly review EVERY product that I purchase. Its really a bad habit cause I spend way to much time shopping for stuff like socks. That being said, this was no different. I spent a few hours researching and looking at every shoulder bag I could find on Amazon and various other sites and in stores. For years I've been using a Tumi bag designed to fit a large laptop as my daily work bag + carry on. It's great for longer trips and provides excellent protection for your laptop, but it's overly bulky/heavy for daily use. I realized I could get by with a smaller bag, but wanted one that would still offer enough pockets and some expandability for travel. After doing quite a bit of research, I settled on this bag. A couple of weeks after purchase, I took it on a trip to the UK and Jerusalem. Upon return, I'm thrilled with the overall quality, storage options, and expandability. This bag not only has an expandable center section, but it also offers multiple zippered pockets on the outside and interior as well as two large snap-closure pockets on the front which will hold a kindle, phone, etc. It also has a secret feature which proved very useful: a zipper pocket on the rear opens to reveal two minimalist straps that transform the messenger bag into a backpack! Very handy under certain conditions. This was not only able to hold all of my carry-on items, but was big enough for two people's things on an overnight trip that included hiking and swimming. It also swallowed a lot of gifts on the return trip without complaint. Zip up the center expander and it returns to a nice daily use messenger bag.

Build quality is very good overall. I highly recommend it!

Case Logic RBP-117 17.3-Inch MacBook Pro/Laptop Backpack with iPad/Tablet Pocket (Black)

I received this backpack as part of the Amazon Vine Program which means I received it free in exchange for providing this review. That said, I was excited to get the opportunity to check it out since I have a laptop backpack from HP that, though much loved, is ultimately falling apart.

I waited to review this until I had a chance to take it on a trip (I'm not a student these days so my backpacks mostly serve as laptop protective luggage). As I did this weekend, here's my review.

So here are my thoughts:

1) Laptop size: GREAT

My engineering workstation laptop has a 17.7" screen which frankly is almost impossible to find any sort of case for. It does fit in this. So that made me happy.

2) Stitching. GREAT

The sewing seems very sturdy. Having not lugged it around through an entire semester or more, I can't faily compare it, but tugging at it shows it seems pretty secure and the fabric it's anchored to at stress points is very reinforced. (That was the problem with my older HP laptop backpack is that it ripped at the weak points)

3) Zippers. APPEAR QUALITY.

Big heavy duty zipper. Again without wear it's hard to say but the heavy coated and smoothed teeth don't seem likely to break or jam soon.

4) Pocket Variety. GOOD.

There are ton of different pockets...frankly I keep finding more. Other than the two large ones (back one is the laptop pocket and the one in front of that is for books or whatever) and the front one (presumably for your tablet if you really need to pack two types of computers) there are many little small ones. Some inside the other pockets, some on the sides, one right against your back (presumably for important papers, but I'd never use it as it seems awkward) and a little one on top that to my mind would fit a cell phone very handily so you can find it when it rings. So for pocket variety, it's a win. For useful pockets...maybe 70-80% are ones I'd actually use. The rest I might stuff random things into just if I needed to fit in one more thing but probably not otherwise.

5) Padding. EXCESSIVE.

Honestly there so much padding it's bulky. I don't plan to throw my electronics out of speeding trains or fifth story windows. While it's comfortable it also means you can fit less in it and that it's heavier even when empty. I shiver to think how long it would take to dry out if you ever got it wet.

6) Capacity. NOT BAD, BUT COULD BE BETTER

To me this is the part that makes me think I'll likely use the HP backpack for a while longer. This backpack isn't actually that much smaller (it doesn't expand out as far)than mine, but the padding really cuts down on space. As I'm not a student, my HP is what I use to travel with. It's nice to be able to use it as my "smaller" carry on and the extra cargo room comes in handy. This one can fit about two pairs of sneakers less over all which is quite a lot less. That said, it IS fairly spacious compared to many backpacks, so it might be just fine for you. I don't know that you'd want it a lot bigger...but if it was differently designed to expand out just a bit further and only pad where it's really needed, you'd get more.

7) Finishes. AWESOME

This is what really wowed me. There's lots of little details I never thought about but like a lot. Like the cell phone pocket. Or the fact that when you adjust the straps they roll up with a velcro snap so they don't dangle down. Very sturdy and polished. Pockets are secure, straps are highly engineered. A little handle near the bottom even...handy for picking it up to say, shove in an overhead bin. Lots of little things I never even though of but are pretty cool.

8)Comfort. ACCEPTABLE

Straps are very comfortable. It seemed to carry a bit "high" for me though which made my shoulders a bit hurty when fully loaded for a while. It has to do with the wideness of the straps at the top which won't let it slide lower down comfortably and so had me adjusting it up to keep it from feeling awkward. I'm calling it acceptable though because overall it wasn't bad. Good weight distribution otherwise (wide straps were nice for that). No cutting even when heavy, easy to grip from top and with one strap.

All in all a really pretty good backpack. It's not perfect, but having never found a perfect backpack to date, I'm giving it 5 stars. My HP (best I've ever had) wins on capacity but this one beats it on construction (I'm pretty sure) and nice extra features. Chances are there are people who will love it. I certainly plan to use it again.

Oh bag makers. You labor over nice details like iPad pockets, you add velcro in all the right places, you fret over how the straps adjust. Yet consistently, in pack after pack, you overlook the most basic and important area of protection for the most expensive item the bag is intended to carry: the bottom of the laptop !! Do they actually test these bag with real laptops? It's beggars the mind to think they wouldn't be alarmed at an ominous THUNK when thinly protected MacBook aluminum meets hard pavement. All it would take would be 50 cents of padding sewn into the bottom of the bag, and yet, they can't seem to make that effort.

Two stars subtracted from an otherwise great bag for this glaring error.

This is a very good backpack, and the description in the site was exactly what I got. I bought it to replace an older case logic backpack I had (cannot remember the model number) that served me very well for many years. It is well built, with nice features like a chest strap, and it is not excessively large, like other backpacks that try to fit even 17" models. My mac book pro 15" fits nicely and it feels secure.

My only reason not to give it five stars is that the notebook compartiment could be better padded at the bottom. In my previous one, the notebook fitted in a large padded pouch in the compartiment, so it would not touch the bottom of the backpack itself. Besides that, the bottom was also padded. With this one, when I put it on the floor the first few times I felt that the notebook was not been as isolated from the impact as I expected. I ended up fitting a piece of packaging foam to the bottom of the compartment, and that solved the problem. If that was included in the design, I'd give it five stars, no doubt.

When I purchased this item from Amazon, I made sure to consider ALL of my options and alternatives beforehand. In the end I narrowed it down to this Case Logic backpack vs. the Swissgear Pegasus 17' bag. I was drawn to the Swissgear backpack because of it's sleek and sexy design; however, I felt it wouldn't fully serve the purpose I expected from a backpack. In the end, I chose Case Logic and am extremely satisfied with the product.

This Case Logic backpack is ideal for me because of the following reasons:

I needed a backpack that would offer enough space to fit my gigantic 17' HP Envy laptop. This does the trick.

The backpack needed to offer padding support for my (expensive) laptop, which is a concern with most people, and this definitely offers excellent padding support.

I travel VERY often and needed something that would be easy to lug around while also offering extra room for additional clothing, toiletry items, snacks, documents, AND my camera equipment. I've traveled with this thing all over Europe, Mexico and USA and all the while I fit my Canon t2i with two lenses, a GoPro with a small tripod, and a battery charger for both cameras ALONG WITH the laptop and everything else mentioned above.

The "secret pouch" on the back is so convenient...I mostly kept my passport and wallet there while travelling.

The backpack is comfortable to wear as a result of the custom straps and padding on the back.

I LOVE the two Compression Straps on the front sides of the backpack!! It's a convenient way to quickly and easily put away a bulky jacket or towel which you might be travelling with.

The backpack is made from a sturdy and thick enough material where I don't need to worry about a hole developing on the bottom if it is placed on the ground or dragged anywhere.

Initially I worried that the backpack might look too large or be ugly compared to the other options I looked at. Boy was I wrong, the size of this product is just perfect and it looks extremely sexy with the black finish and shiny highlight on the front.

The backpack stands up, super convenient!!!

It has a handle at the bottom, makes it super easy to stow the backpack under a seat in an airplane or move it around in such confined areas.

Now the cons of the backpack:

My only concern with the backpack is the stitching of the shoulder straps...I've owned the backpack for about 6 months now and have noticed that the stitches have start to come undone. I'd hear them snap after I'd put on the backpack. Luckily, Case Logic has stitched the shoulder straps all the way across the top of the backpack which gives them more strength and allows for more durability. I assume this problem exists because I fit so many things in the backpack...but it hasn't come undone and if it ever does, I wouldn't mind stitching them back up!

I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and highly recommend this backpack to anyone looking for such features, whether you are a frequent traveler, a weekend traveler or a college student with one too many books or electronic gadgets in your hand. I also use it as my every day coffee house bag when I have emptied the backpack and have down time.

I really enjoy having this backpack after finally letting go of my Targus backpack. This one came highly recommended on Amazon, so I decided to give it a shot. When I first received it, I immediately noticed that there was a very large amount of space in the front two compartments and the laptop compartment is very well padded.

One of the best perks of this bag is that there are actually two spaces for tablets, one with the laptop and one in the front pocket. Nice when you have a personal and a work tablet. The laptop compartment was very well suited for my MacBook and my Asus Transformer tablet. The first compartment after that was able to hold 3 large textbooks and 3 pads of paper. The front compartment was also large with various places to arrange smaller items. Another very fun feature of this backpack is the lumbar stash which is very well manufactured and easy to get to while walking. It also has two compression straps that allow you to carry odds and ends, such as an umbrella, a rolled up coat, it even held my heavy jacket. The side pockets are well made, each is spacious enough to fit a TI-84 calculator with ease and my keys (with the built-in keychain) and my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2).

Overall the backpack was very good, there is a lot of padding on the back and it is also designed to stop your back from sweating. I enjoy having a lot of space for everything that I carry on a daily basis and very much so enjoy how big the backpack actually is, as it goes all the way down my back (6'3" Male) and does not awkwardly stop halfway down. I would definitely recommend this to anybody, student or professional.

Rick Steves Autobahn Laptop Backpack

I bought this backpack specifically because I could slip it over the extended handle of my suitcase. I've traveled with it once and like it. I was able to organize my things because there are three different compartments. It seems sturdy and is relatively comfortable to wear. All in all, I'm quite happy with it.

Used the rolling backpack for 2 weeks in Spain. It didn't twist on cobbled streets and curbs. Very stable. Easy to strap on my back when I had to climb stairs. Balanced weight very nicely.

Well organized, fit nicely into airline overhead, and was easy to open all the way for airport security. It was also easy for me to see my stuff. The zippers seemed sturdy and worked easily.

The only thing to watch out for is the straps. If you don't tuck them all the way in, which is hard, you need to be sure and run the chest strap through the handle so they won't drag on the street. It's easy to unsnap the strap when you hit steps.

Way better than any of my previous duffels or rolling luggage.

I purchased this in August for a quick 6 day trip to Europe to watch a Formula 1 race in Belgium. I found the pack to qualify as "carry on" very well as the ticket agent made me jam into their metal dimension square and it fit very snugly. The pack material held up well and the rollers worked well even on gravel at the track. My complaint is the quality of the main zipper which broke on the third day of use, rendering my ability to keep anything in very limited. Zippers are not easily repaired or replaced, so its the trash bin for this thing.

Octonauts School Swim Bag

My 3 year old Granddaughter loves watching the Octonauts and she's taking swimming lessons, so when I saw this I had to get it for her. Higher Ground Higher Ground Shuttle 2.0 Notebook carrying case Enclosure Color black

NOTE: I purchased the 17" version of this case, but the only apparent differences are the size.

My Dell XPS 17 is a bit of a behemoth and according to the specs, it shouldn't quite fit in the Shuttle 2.0, but it does. The only issue I've found is when you close the 17 Shuttle 2.0's lid over the XPS 17 it rubs just a little on the front of the laptop.

This is not a big deal as the 17 Shuttle 2.0's interior is nicely finished with soft fabric. Actually, pulling the case's top slightly towards you as you lower it over the laptop allows the case to close without even touching the laptop.

This 'rubbing' is certainly not a deal breaker and if I hadn't already known about the specs (according to the specs, the XPS 17 is 1/10" wider than the interior of the 17 Shuttle 2.0) it never would have occurred to me to think the case might be too small for the Dell XPS 17. In fact, if anything this creates a safer and snugger fit for my laptop.

Speaking of this case, it is an excellent case! It is well-built, extremely functional and looks great. I've noticed that while waiting for class with laptop in hand I get a lot of looks from classmates. I think the "portrait" orientation of the case, which is a little unusual, might be partially responsible for this, but it's also a very nice looking case! I opted for the Basic Black, a bit traditional but it's a very nice looking case. I have to admit the pink DID appeal to me and I am secure enough in my manhood to carry pink, but my daughter 'Pinky' would no doubt have nicked the case within a week.

The 17 Shuttle 2.0 has an excellent design and makes using a laptop on the go an easy and enjoyable experience.

When you're ready to work, it's a simple process: you set the case down, grab the two zippers and run them around to the back of the case, open the lid, and you're ready to go! The laptop never has to leave the case!

On the inside of the case are four orange, rubber pedestals that raise the laptop up so air can flow and heat can dissipate. They are 1/4 inch thick, look nicely high-tech (not that you'll ever see them) and have velcro on the bottom so they can be repositioned across the case.

I'm ambivalent about these feet: when I sit with my laptop on my lap, I can feel warmth on my legs (which feels pretty darned good on a cold day). On the other hand, I've never tested the case with the feet removed, so perhaps it is cooling my laptop and I just don't know it. At any rate, they can't hurt and you can always remove them if you want.

As stated earlier, the inside of the case is nicely finished. There is a band inside the case lid, approximately 1" wide, that feels like it might be aluminum, that runs around the inside of the perimeter of the lid. This is what protects the edges of your laptop when the lid is closed and it feels very sturdy and secure.

There is a nylon strap on either side of the case that keeps the lid from opening farther than 90 degrees. This is a very nice feature as it keeps the lid from opening too far and actually gives your screen a little privacy. They only problem I have with them is they block my USB ports on the sides of my laptop (at the back corners.) When plugging in my drive I have to pull the strap out of the way, no big deal.

On the outside of the case are two pouches. One is zippered and is large enough to carry my charging brick, with power cords, and a cordless mouse (I chose the Logitech G700.) To save on space and make things easier, I bought a retractable power cord that is really nice (Zip-Linq, $12 or so at Frys).

The other pouch is for 8.5 x 11 inch documents and secures with a mere 1.5" of velcro, enough to keep your full-size papers secure, but I don't think I'd carry anything small or valuable (like your paycheck.) It's perfect for syllabi, handouts and other crap that you wouldn't really fret about losing, although I think it unlikely that would happen anyway.

Finally, there is a very sturdy handle that has a thick rubber grip that you will really appreciate when you are standing in line for 20 minutes waiting for class, the subway, etc. The handle is black with a the orange Higher Ground logo on the side. It would look really snazzy if the whole thing was orange (Hint, hint.)

All in all this is an AWESOME case and I would give it 10 stars if I could. It's a very well-made product and I couldn't be happier.

Well, I could be happier and this is where I will make suggestions for the future:

1. Someone else mentioned adding brightly colored pulls to the zipper tabs on the case. This is an EXCELLENT idea as it would allow you to quickly see that your case is indeed zipped shut so you don't accidentally pick it up and dump $2,000 of laptop on the floor (*GASP*)!

2. A second (colored) pull on the accessory compartment would be VERY nice.

3. It would most excellent to have a slit on each side of the accessory compartment that would allow you to permanently feed your charging cord into the "cargo bay" so you wouldn't have to pull the cord out of the accessory compartment, around the edge of the case and to the back of your laptop.

It's kind of a PITA to do this and, let's face it, looks sloppy and this case deserves better!

I've been contemplating doing it myself and now that I've had the case for a few months I may give it a try.

Anyway, if you want a truly boffo case that looks awesome and does an even more-awesome job of transporting and protecting your laptop, GET THIS ONE!

Walt Disney Minnie Mouse Large Rolling Backpack

My three-year-old is absolutely in love with Minnie Mouse. She got this for Christmas, in anticipation of her first trip to Disney World. The quality is quite good, very durable, with strong zippers and wheels. The height of the handle made it easy for my daughter to pull on her own and it is quite light when empty so wasn't too heavy for her to pull even when packed with toys and books. It is bright and colorful and the outside pockets are useful (although the velcro on the outside pockets makes them less than completely sealed. Overall, an excellent choice and sure to last for years to come.

My daughter is in first grade and this backpack lasted a total of 3 months. It fell apart so quickly. I was very disappointed and so was she.

Bright Ideas RBP1 Reflective Backpack

I bought this backpack for when I ride my scooter to work. I really like how reflective it is, yet it's not so overpowering that I look like a safety nut. It has reflective patches in all the right places, and it holds a lot of stuff. I like all the different zipped areas. I think if there was any downside, it would be that the zippers are a little hard to get at on the biggest portion of the backpack because of the fabric that overlaps that part. Otherwise, great backpack for the price.

The Bright Ideas RBP is an excellent product for anyone who rides motorcycles (especially government employees)! Finding a better alternative for a better price would definitely be a challenge. Its nice because the outside is black with reflective material in all the right places. Its also big enough to hold books, papers, a laptop, a tennis racquet, or even groceries! Its even got a belly strap not shown in the photo. If it came in other colors like blue or gray or had a cup holder on the side it would be perfect!! :)

Several years ago I bought this reflective Bright Ideas backpack for my husband, who rides his bicycle to work in the very early morning hours when it's often still dark (5:20 a.m.), to keep him as safe as possible. The backpack has held up really well, and so have its reflective properties. We love it! I wanted to get one for me in bright yellow, but you no longer carry that color or any color other than black. Also, at the time I wanted to order it, you were temporarily out of stock. So how are my husband and I going to keep our backpacks apart if our backpacks are both black? Yet I have to buy your pack, because no other backpack is this sturdy, this reflective, or this safe! Please carry more colors. Meanwhile, I'm going to bite the bullet and buy it in black, put I wish you offered in reflective monograms by option. I'd pay the extra price to avoid confusion between my backpack and his.

This backpack is very versatile. Mostly I use it for my laptop and small recording equipment. Laptop goes in one sleeve and my small keyboard goes in the other sleeve.

I occasionally will use it for small weekend trips. I can fit clothes for 2-3 days and still have room for my iPhone charger and travel shampoos etc.

The best part about casenova is the fact that it holds the weight of your pack across your back securely. It's a great backpack for those who are on the go.

The material even feels great against your bareskin. Wore it to a music festival as my day pack for entering festival grounds. The neoprene keeps it from sticking to your skin too bad, and I didn't have to go back to the campsite as often.

The strap system is confusing at first but once you get it down, you will be able to take ur pack off in fractions of a second. I'd definitively recommend this to anyone who is looking for a laptop sleeve or a nice basic softshell backpack.

My favorite part about this backpack is that it feels secure. With my old bag I was always worried that someone might walk up behind me and open or steal my bag. This bag opens to the inside and is held snuggly to your body. The size is just right for a day on campus or around town. I usually don't like carrying a bag because it is a hassle to keep track of but I forget this one is even on. Another thing I like about this bag is that it is not impossible to sit on a bus seat for a quick ride while it is still on. I had to take my old bag off (which is a pain) because it was too bulky.

I found this product on Amazon as I was searching for a light and comfortable bag for A4 format textbooks. I live in an outskirt of a big city and teach at a university in the downtown area. To get to work I use three different kinds of transport (first a bus, then subway and finally a tram). It takes more that an hour and presumes standing a lot and being in a crowd. And I usually carry 2-3 textbooks and one smaller book. I used to carry a "usual" messenger bag, but it was uncomfortable and my shoulder ached.

This bag is a great solution, as it is light, compact (you don't need to take it off even in crowded areas or if you sit down) and comfortable (I hardly feel the weight of the books). Thank you!

And a few words about a drawback. I am an XL size lady and I carry the bag over my winter coat, so the strap was at its maximum length. As a result, there was sticky tape under my left arm, and after the first day I noticed that the sticker's crooks had clung to the stitching on the coat. I found a solution: I bought some black sticker of the same width as the one used on the bag and clung it to the sticker under my arm. It does not spoil the looks of the bag. A suggestion for the manufacturer: why not include a piece of sticker together with the bag?

Besides, I would love a carabiner inside the bag.

I wanted to use this product for a few months before writing a review because I didn't want to make a snap judgement.

First, I probably use this 3 to 4 times a week. I generally carry a 15 inch laptop, power cables, mobile hotspot, 7 inch tablet, and a few other items... This is a remarkable resilient bag. I've stretched it an it does a good job of going back to its original shape.

Second, I was worried about how the straps would hold up over time. So far, it's actually holing up pretty well.

I like the snug way it holds things to my back. It's secure and keeps things from flinging around.

Highly recommended!

Fits perfectly. Light but sturdy. The quality of the product was better than I expected.

The two sleeves it easy to carry my surface along when I need. The little pocket is not too big and not suitable for anything heavy. I use it for the connectors, but wish there was a pocket for the charger.

Got this for my son in the Foliage Green color to use as a school backpack. It looked like a bit of overkill, but tired of replacing backpacks every year. He really loved it because he could fit *all* his stuff in it without stressing the bag or the zippers. Because it was apparently designed as a hiking/camping/military bag, it also had the padded, ventilated back panel and shoulder straps so it was easy to carry.

Bottom line is that another parent asked where I got it and bought one too. The absolute best thing though is that now, at the end of a school year, it looks nearly new and I don't have to buy another bag in September! It may even make it into his college years!

This bag is a little more cheaply made than advertised I feel. Cheap nylon and the bottom is cheap plastic that is already ripping on the seams that straps are attached to.

when I opened the package, I noticed so many wrong things about this product. Fist, the black color of the backpack was a bit off, faded, the straps were a good solid black so they didn't match. Second, AND MOST IMPORTANT, the center strap (the one that locks the center of the backpack) had been glueda bit too much to the right, so you could see the trail of the glue there but then there are the dozens of loose strings that keep falling apart. I love that it has a rough look but this doesn't look new. was it used at the war? that would make sense, I probably missed that on the product description.

something I did forget to miss, I didn't read or perhaps forgot, there is no outside pocket or water bottle carrier, major con if you are outdoors most of the time.

pro is that you can fit everything in, but this doesnt look so great, and it was made pretty bad. looks cheap, don;t recommend it.

Puma V1.11 Medium Bag

I love this bag! The main reason I bought it was so that I could take it to the hospital when we have our baby. All of my bags are either too big or too small, and this bag is the perfect size! The main compartment has plenty of room for whatever I need. There is also a small compartment on one side as well as another pocket on the opposite side, that is easily large enough to hold a pair of shoes. It's perfect for this particular occasion, but it will definitely be useful for whatever else it is needed for. The bag also seems to be made well, and is sturdy and high quality. Anything I buy from Puma is generally a great buy!

Case Logic VLS-114 13-Inch, 14-Inch Laptop Sleeve (Black)

I have to say, I was hesitant on getting this sleeve, for that some said it would fit the 15.4 inch laptops, and some 16's. I ordered this one, got in the mail just recently, tried it out, and it fits my Dell Studio XPS 16 (w/ the 16 inch screen) like a GLOVE!!! I LOVE the fact that on one side of it is lined with suede, so removing it makes it very easy!!! I feel confident now that I don't have to worry about leaving my computer somewhere, or have it collect dust, since I'm deployed out in Afghanistan at the moment. The zipper felt good, wasn't flimsy or anything, it should last as long as I keep the computer.

Also, I had ordered an OGIO Politan Pack just recently, and wasn't sure if the Sleeve with my laptop inside of it would fit, but sure enough it did!!! Not only am I happy with the purchase, but at the fact that sleeve fits PERFECTLY within the OGIO Politan Backpack!! So if it fits my 16inch XPS without any issues, any 15.4 inch laptop SHOULD fit in here as well...

I was looking for a basic sleeve to protect my iPad and Apple wireless keyboard while stowed inside my backpack. This case fit the bill perfectly. Additionally, the quality of design, materials, and construction FAR exceeded my expectations considering what I paid (under $15).

General comments:

Basic sleeve design for a netbook or iPad, as advertised. The construction is high quality, especially for the price. The material feels sturdy in hand, but is exceptionally light. Both sides of the sleeve are padded (neither side is rigid). The interior surface is smooth nylon. The interior portion of the zipper is protected from contents by a lip of fabric which, by its design, does NOT get caught up in the zipper. The zipper itself runs from the top left corner of the sleeve all the way down the right side of the sleeve, giving you the flexibility to only open the sleeve from the top or open it up more widely. Accented patches at the bottom and front center are a nice touch, providing good grip points.

iPad specific:

Bought the sleeve to house my iPad. Was despairing because I could not find a simple case to house both my iPad and my Apple wireless keyboard. Thought I would be forced to leave the sleeve open at the top with the keyboard sticking out. To my surprise, the iPad AND keyboard fit nicely together in the sleeve. The keyboard takes up the maximum height of the case, but the zipper closes nicely without being forced or rubbing, even with the iPad inside also.

I bought this case over the other neoprene cases available from Caselogic, though it was the purchase of another neoprene case as a gift that turned me on to the Caselogic laptop sleeves. I opted for this model because of the tougher fabric from which it is made and because it is more padded.

The case is very solid. As others have noted, the small accent patches of softer suede-like material on the ends make it much easier to grip the case, and the case provides very good protection for a laptop.

Despite the benefits of the padding, it is also, perhaps, the case's biggest drawback. It is quite thick in comparison the neoprene cases against which it might be compared. But since it has no external pockets, that thickness comes with no capacity to carry the accessories--like a laptop charger or earbud headphones, etc--you might need if you intend to use this case as your primary means of transporting your laptop. I use this case, in its 14" size, primarily to protect my laptop when I carry it in my larger briefcase to prevent my computer from sliding around or getting damaged by pens and the like in my larger bag. It is excellent in this capacity, and also serves me well when I go on quick errands where I know I won't be needing to plug in my laptop and don't want to carry my whole briefcase.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the case. It does its job well, and I don't mind the slightly larger size because I appreciate the extra padding and protection--the reason I bought the case in the first place.

My iPad is in an Apple iPad case but I need a little more protection when it is in my backpack for traveling. Most so called iPad sleeves are expensive so I bought this thing, it fits well and it is cheap. Quite happy with this.

*note: edited review two weeks after purchase* This is a very comfortable and compact case and build quality is excellent. It would be my favorite case if not for two things:

1) My 10.1" Aspire One with the larger 6-cell battery pack *BARELY* fits. It's a very tight squeeze and the zipper takes some effort to get it to close around the corners.

2) No room for extras. It's a real stretch to get any extras in the case. I cannot zip it closed if I put the power cord, mouse, etc in this same case.

This is a sturdy, well padded and very protective case. If you need to carry extras with it, choose something larger.

I'm a frequent traveler with a bad back. This bag is very light and easily holds my netbook, and clothes for a three day trip. I can easily lift this into the overhead compartment. I highly recommend this bag. Time will tell how well it holds up to frequent use.

If you want features, don't get this but I was looking for something relatively inexpensive that would tote my computer in a vertical position and this fit the bill. What it lacks in features it made up for in price. On the flip side, one of the zippers sticks, there is no holder for drinks, and the telescoping handle may be too lightweight... mine has already bent slightly. But for the price, I'm satisfied. I had to wait a very long time (6-8 wks, I believe) to receive this.
