I bought this bag to help save my back from nursing school, lugging around a ton of books is starting to take its toll. This is a great bag, I can easily fit 5 texts books with some notebooks and supplies. I have only been using it for a few weeks,but it seems sturdy, plus it has a hard bottom, so it doesnt sag under the weight of the books. My only problem with that bag is that the color was a little brighter than I was expecting, so if you dont want a flamingo pink bag, maybe choose a different color

I love my new calpak this is my second one. This calpak is so quiet when it roll. It has so much space for all my supplies. I am an art teacher. I love the color it looks just like the picture. I'm a college student with lots of books and notebooks and random other stuff I have to bring. My previous rolling bag I got to save my back literally broke half way through the semester, which was not this bag. There are key differences between them which I was looking for. For one my college is mostly outdoors and when it rains the walk ways flood, it keeps the bag high enough up off the ground that it doesn't get wet, which I'm sure would be a definite plus for those who live in places that actually snow. Next the handle is sturdy with double bar handle I found the single bar handle isn't stable and if you have a lot of books and have to go upstairs is the first thing to break on the bag so another point for the calpack. Now I have to take a lot of stuff with me, this bag is HUGE it has room for everything with some to spare. The side pocket is the perfect size for a graphing calculator and the mesh pocket fits a 32 oz water bottle perfectly. But the thing that makes this bag totally worth it...the tag that comes on it is a 3 year warranty if it breaks. Oh yes I am down with that, this bag should by design last for the remainder of my college years and if it doesn't do what it should they'll replace it. The only thing about this bag that is a con which isn't really a con. The picture above doesn't do the color justice. The bag is really not pale pink it is more of a dark hot pink. Which I absolutely love the color if it's pale or dark so it's not a con for me. But someone else might be a little miffed.

I purchased this for my son and was very disappointed. The bag appeared to be of good quality and had several compartments. However, after two weeks of use the cross bar under the bag broke on both sides. It tilts forward and it can't be used anymore. I had better success with bags I purchased for alot less money. This is not worth the money and I don't recommend this product. I ended up buying him another bag for school.

Lenovo Performance Backpack - Notebook carrying backpack

This backpack is very compact in size, although it has three major compartments, one of them is for laptop.

The major CONS are the belt buckles and the upper ligaments of the belts.

The buckles are not working so well, they often got stuck once I totally release them. The upper ligaments seem a little too slim to handle much weight.

I've been buying this backpack for a few years now. I think this is my third one. For the money you can't go wrong. I especially like how light it is. This really makes a difference to me. My Wenger backpack is larger, but even empty it's quite heavy and I only use it if I really need more space. If you commute by bike or on foot this Lenovo backpack should be a good choice. When I spend the extra money for an ultralight laptop, I don't like to then carry it around in a heavy backpack. Every ounce matters when you add in all the other junk needed for daily travels. The only drawback is the top handle built into the shoulder straps. It's great for grabbing the backpack off the floor or car seat, but it is a little annoying rubbing on the back of my neck as I bike. I've never had a problem with straps ripping off. After heavy use and bike commuting one year I did manage to rip some seams on the secondary compartment. The net on the outside is also a feature I use quite often and appreciate. I can roll up a raincoat or windbreaker and stash it there even if it's wet.

Voodoo Tactical Enhanced Medium MOLLE Assault Pack

So I basically sh** myself when I got this. It just looks like it could kick your ass. There is one large pocket that is pretty expandable and 2 smaller pockets as well. I am currently using this as my "bug out bag" for any kind of natural or man-made disasters, but am planning on taking it on a 2-3 week mountain survival trip. Basically, i'll be going into the mountains of West Virginia and this will be storing all my gear.

So far, I have worn this while riding a bike across town and have tested walking around my apartment building at 2 a.m. with it on. The main shoulder straps are pretty thick with clips to hold everything together, so i'll definitely be getting some new replacement parts on here in case something on the pack breaks while im in the bush..... heh, allllllriiigggghhttt (Quagmire). Anyway, when I got this I immediately wanted to see how much sh** I could stuff into this and it can hold a decent amount. I was able to stick some screwdrivers and pliers and a small crobar in the webbing thats on the side of it. When full, the zippers can be a little difficult to deal with but thats because they are pretty heavy duty. I have several things strapped to the outside webbing so far and that seems to be holding well.

There are 2 FAT waist pads to help alleviate some of the pressure on your back as well as a smaller chest strap. 3 small holes on the bottom of the pack allow for water drainage. All in all, this (so far) is a great pack. Strong, lightweight, durable, and stylish too. I will post an update in a couple months to update how its holding out.

UPDATE:

I just got back from a 2 week mountain survival trip with some buddies. The packs that they brought out were small and not reliable. My friends pack's buckle snapped on him and he had to repair it. THANKFULLY, I had a small sewing kit in my pack ready to go. Anyway, this pack constantly held about 35 to 40 lbs of survival gear and clothing and I never had any problems with it. I had purchased several different replacement parts for this pack about a week after I received it due to another review that stated he was going to get some parts as well. I got 3 extra large clips for the front hip strap, and some smaller ones for the upper straps. I also got some extra webbing for the outside of it as well.

All in all, the experience I have had with this pack is great. I was not expecting it to be the most amazing one in the world and didn't let my expectations get too high for it. GO FOR THIS!!!!!

I wanted a rugged "bugout bag" that was not huge so I was able to carry other items, either connected to this bag or separately without having an unwieldy bag. This bag is perfect for my needs. Not only is the bag very well built but it is a perfect size to hold just about everything I plan to carry. It has so many Molle connections that I am able to connect my Med kit and countless other things all over the bag. Fits my needs perfectly. I would say this bag is larger than a school backpack but not so large that it stands out like a sore thumb, if you know what I mean.

I bought this bag and it came to me messed up. The bag itself is VERY sturdy and well made but the straps were absolutely falling apart. It was like they didn't come from the same factory as the rest of the bag (including the waist strap). The stitching was ripping out but worse than that, the quick-release buckle would pop open under any kind of load, rendering the bag useless. It was difficult to get ahold of any one in customer service, but once I did I spoke with a very nice lady who blew a metric ton of sunshine up my posterior. To be clear: i wanted to BUY a replacement set of shoulder straps. They OFFERED to send me a new set. They had me sent them pictures of the bag to make sure the model and colors matched: the whole nine yards. This was before thanksgiving of 2011. They didn't have any in stock, but were getting a shipment in any day now and would sent them out. Then it was december. Then after New Year. "Oh yes sir, your file is still on my desk. We'll get those straps out to you as soon as they come in". As of today, no straps. I have given up. I would have much rather preferred a "no sir, there is nothing that we can do". I would recommend that you NOT buy any Voodoo product that you don't plan on throwing away when it's used up. There appear to be no such thing as replacement or spare parts.

I feel better sending my 10 year to school with this cover over her school-issued netbook. I'm a cheapskate by nature, but I feel that this was money well spenther netbook easily stands out plus all of her buddies really like it. The wetsuit-like material gives it some protection, too. The extra skins were fun bonuses and her flute case now wears the matching phone skinalso making it easily identifiable, not too mention cool. The backpack is very lightweight to the point of being flimsy. When we put in only one thin folder and three thin books (seriously, nothing heavy), it looks totally deformed hanging down like a sack. Besides, it has a strange smell, that is not wearing out even after three weeks of using it.

I bought this specifically because it meets the maximum size specifications for overhead bin storage on most airlines. It satisfies in that respect.

However, I have consistently experienced a problem with the bag tending to fall forward; it is prone to tipping over away from the handle side. Very annoying, especially when traveling. This happens even though I have nothing stored in the outer pockets, although that should really make no difference.

Overall quality is satisfactory; I expected the inside to perhaps have some pockets and maybe some padding, but such is not the case.

Given another opportunity to purchase, I would go in a different direction because I get tired of the bag falling over all the time. But, it does get the job done.

I love the color, I wasn't sure about it on the web site but when I saw it in person, I really like it. The wheels feel good and the main compartment is great. I am curious to see if the 22" will go as a carry-on on the first leg of a trip overseas on a smaller jet. Kipling Adara Medium

This is my 5th Kipling bag. I like the color, construction and durability of these bags. This is a very large bag for a medium. So, it is helpful that the inside is lined with a light colored fabric so you can always find what you are looking for. There are lots of inside pockets and places to put your cell phone, pens and other miscellaneous but important things you don't want to lose track of in the bag itself. The bag is very large and holds the usual-wallet, checkbook and small cosmetic case. In addition, often when I'm shopping, I use my Kipling bag to take my purchases; it really is that large. The bag comes with a nice long shoulder strap that you can wear across the shoulders, but I tuck it in the bag and just use the handles, which fit over my shoulders. The shoulder strap is not set-up to be removable.

I bought this bag from a supplier that works with Amazon.com. The shipping was excellent (I received it within a week) and so was the price.

I have loved Kipling bags, the Europa being my favorite..but I needed something bigger so I asked my personal santa to get me this kipling adara. My other Kipling bags were tagged made in china and the quality is outstanding..the Adara that I received just recently is tagged made in thailand and there is a big difference in the quality. The crossbody strap has marks that looked like it was squished between something heavy and dirty, both the crossbody and shoulder strap rubs painfully on my skin because the ends of the stitches were burned making it hard and sharp, the metal hardware and the monkey chain has scratch marks that looked like its been rubbing on each other (like when you take it off and put it back on a lot of times..), the key ring inside the bag gets stuck, and a portion of the lining inside w/c did not meet and is not sewn together. The poor quality of this one was really unexpected and I am really disappointed.

I had been looking for a bag that was big enough for gym clothes and not entirely unattractive. I own another Kipling as an overnight bag therefore I was certain the quality would be good and that the bag would be durable.

I got the bag in a reasonable amount of time and when I got it I could not help but notice that the bag looked noticibly smaller than the dimensions listed. I checked and I do not believe this to be the sellers fault because the bag is listed with the same dimensions on the Kipling website. However for future buyers the dimensions listed are measured across the widest part of the bag which is the top. In my experience most bags are measured across the bottom, no matter which is the widest part. I believe it is listed as 20 inches wide, but it is actually more like 15 inches wide measured across the bottom (without laying it completely flat which is the only possible way they could have gotten the listed width of 20 inches).

I decided to keep the bag because even though it is smaller than I thought it would be, it does fit everything I needed to get into it without being cumbersome. It also is small enough to carry everyday, with no gym clothes, without looking bulky. I am very happy with my purchase and if the dimensions had been as advertised I would have given it 5 stars. Also I love the little monkey, it adds a bit of whimsy to my day.

I love Kipling stuff. Honestly, I would like this bag if it actually had a removable shoulder strap. The description says its straps are adjustable and removeable. They arn't. I'll be returning it and choosing a different Kipling bag. I love Kipling. I just didn't like this bag.

I have this bag in purple with green trim from at least 5 years ago, and it gets frequent use in my bag rotation. It's true that it's not a textbook-sized backpack, but it is a perfect everyday bag for a shopper, tourist, city dweller, or light day-hiker or bicyclist. As I am a teacher, I generally carry a giant bag as well, full of books and planners, but this works for me on the weekdays as a cute, carry-all-my-personal-necessities purse, and on weekends for a day on the town or in the country. I can fit a sandwich, apple, two 16-oz. water bottles in side pockets, my wallet, cell phone, small make-up bag and keys on the handy-dandy fob with its own pocket. In the rear slip pocket, I also carry one of my Circa notebooks, which measures 7 inches by 9 inches, and about an inch and a half thick OR a good-sized paperback OR my Sony tablet/iPad. This bag is lightweight, waterand dirt-resistant, and very cute with many open and zippered pockets to keep many more small items than I have listed (tissues, grocery lists, Chapstick, a comb, etc.). I love that it can convert from purse to backpack in about 2 seconds, although I do mainly use it as a purse for everyday/work, only selecting the backpack option when I'm carrying it all day long, for city or country hikes.

The other great thing is, I have owned and used this bag for several years and it still looks brand new! That is why I have had this orange version on my wish list for over a year now I can't really justify buying another one when my original is still perfect! So, I had to put in a plug, because this is a great bag and I do own several other Ellington bags as well, so I can really attest to the quality, construction and amazingly thoughtful placement of various pockets in each one I own. They ALL seem to be made to last as well, not just in terms of durability, but in terms of fashion and practicality even the bags I have owned for 15+ years somehow just happen to have pockets that are perfect for iPhones/the new Android phones.

Cannot even fit a college (paper notebook) in it, so I do not think it should be considered a back pack. More like a purse.

Gregory Women's Navarino 12 Backpack

I've used a smaller version of this pack for a couple of years day hiking National Parks. Felt I was ready to add some weight. Takes a water bladder, extra clothes and some supplies. I'm over 60 and have neck and shoulder issues but these packs work well for me ergonomically. The waist and chest straps are perfectly positioned to distribute the weight effectively. I've tried some local hikes with my new pack and love it! Just wish the waist side pockets were more easily accessible.

I got this for my wife who usually prefers this to a purse. It is the perfect size and LOADED with pockets. I was surprised that it has more pockets and functionality than my Deuter ACT 38. Has very similar organization to my Osprey 50. Wife loves it. I will most likely end up getting something this size as my Camelback Ridgerunner has seen better days.

I bought this suitcase for my little one before a trip to New York City. It held a ton of stuff for him; books diapers, changes of clothes, and the internal zip pocket is very durable. The suitcase is also very durable. My guy is around 27lb and he has jumped inside and sat inside of this suitcase, and the durability is outstanding. I would buy this for anyone's little one. I set out to find a large gear back capable of plane travel and having enough room for all my offroad dirt bike gear. The layout is well thought out and works well for gear and all that goes along with it. The helmet bag is nice, the zip closure "wet gear" bag that comes with it great too. Nice being able to separate wet/muddy gear from the other items. Storage is top notch and the bright yellow interior lining is sweet, makes it very easy to see darker colored items down in the bag. I was looking for a backpack since I had been using the same one for a couple of years. The average backpack was 30-40$ which is why I decided on this as I read a review it was pretty much the same material as more popular backpacks and it also looks the same minus logo. The front pocket is a big large but to me it's all the better as I have lots of accessories that I store there like pens, charger for my laptop, and my phone. One thing I don't like is the little ring on the upper right corner of the backpack next to the main zipper. I don't really get it's purpose and it would probably look better if they didn't waste any material adding on this useless piece not to mention save some money while producing this product. Wish it wer a tad bigger to hold clothes, diapers, blankets etc and that it had a side compartment or something for drinks / bottles but otherwise a nice bag for toddler. He can almost hold it himself.
