Gregory Z35 Backpack

This is my fifth Gregory pack, but one of my least favorite. I bought the Z35 to replace my 1992 Mountainsmith Bugaboo. That pack cost $235 when adjusted for inflation, and has been repurposed as a canyoneering pack. Thanks to the wonders of globalization and the outsourcing of labor and materials, the Z35 was half the cost. I've found it to be a relatively decent enough pack, but have (as always) some nitpicks that knock a few stars off my rating.

One issue is the curved nature of the pack bag. I recognize this is an inherent issue with any pack that creates an air space between your back and the load, but it is still an annoyance to load and unload. I didn't take a star off for this, as that's a relatively acceptable trade off for a cooler back.

My second complaint is the access zipper on the front that allows you to get to the upper portion of the pack bag. This has limited utility, as it's only slightly more convenient than simply going in from the top of the bag. Of course, a lower zipper would be preferable, but with the front stuff pocket, that's not going to happen.

Now, my two significant issues...

THE HIP BELT BUCKLE IS NOT USER-REPLACEABLE! When your hip buckle breaks (and it will at some point most likely at the most inopportune time), you cannot simply slide another one on. The buckle is sewn into place on both sides to facilitate the "ergo-pull" tightening system (you know, pulling straps towards your center, rather than away). I suppose it could be repaired in field if you bring a VERY heavy-duty needle and thread and some sort of stitching ripper, but expect your repair time to be measured in hours rather than seconds. This drawback isn't unique, my Osprey Kestrel 48 has the same problem, but it isn't unavoidable either, as my Gregory Palisade demonstrates.

Secondly, any sort of spine flexion will push the cross-bar of the "CrossFlo DTS" suspension into your lower back, particularly when the pack is loaded. This isn't painful, but isn't very comfortable either. Keeping your back straight and only bending at the hips will help somewhat, but it the weight of your load and gravity will conspire to push that damnable "X" into you.

So, in summary; the Z35 is an acceptable, but not great, pack for heavy dayhikes or light overnighters.

I had to look for a new backpack to use while I'm on the go, found this one and it seems to be durable so far.

It has a nice design on the handle and sides which allow for holding cans of soda pop or water. I usually use a book bag for my school supplies and trips but this was a good deal for me compared to other backpacks and messenger bags so I picked this one up instead. My last book bag lasted at least a year maybe two, hopefully this backpack will be as durable as that book bag, it should be it says on the tags reinforced seams and comfort designed padded straps so it seems to be of high quality. Not a Disney fan, but the design is convenient, and looks good overall. Very high quality. Recommended.

PTH® Victory Sackpack Bags by Under Armour

I bought this backpack when the free corded sack I got from a charity walk broke and I realized how much I had been using it. I only expected a replacement: a bit of nylon with some cords running through it shaped vaguely into a backpack, but this thing is amazing. The material and design seem insanely sturdy, it looks great, has a bit thicker canvas on the bottom for when you set it down. I'll definitely be ordering a second one.

But, the real reason I decided to review was because of the "Foam padded, ua branded drawcords." I read that in the description and couldn't believe they were actually including the type of draw cord as a selling point, but these things really are nice. They are about the thickness of a bic pen (or a bit thicker) and the padding really does work. I hadn't realized how much the shoelace like straps on my other bag had been digging into me until I replaced them. All other things being equal, these cords would still convince me to buy this pack.

This bag is the greatest thing ever. I got the Navy blue, white and grey one....it meshes well with my gym clothes. Its durable and it holds a good amount of stuff in it. I'm out in Afghanistan with it and been taking on all the harsh elements and not breaking or tearing. Its a must have bag....I recommend this bag to everyone.

This is a very durable bag and worth the money spent. I was looking for a new drawstring bag, had one I used for gym clothes and it started to tear and fray not too long after use. This bag is made of a very strong material, and has a front zip pocket with mesh pockets inside.

The bag is a great size, I currently have 5 books inside that are about the typical size of a hardcover book. The books fit nicely with plenty of room. They fit stacked on top of one another, and there is room on either size and above the books as well. Even with all of the books stacked on top of one another, the outside pocket still has room to fit items inside. There is also a small flap zip pocket on the inside top section of the bag big enough to fix keys, cell phone, or mp3 player, possibly all three together. It looks like a decent size but I haven't had the need to use it yet.

The only downside it the straps are thicker than the cheaper versions of drawstring bags which makes it a little difficult to close. Regardless once you get used to the straps there are no issues. This is a great bag and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I bought this bag to replace a larger gym bag that was large enough to use as a airplane carry-on for short / overnight trips; and I'm extremely happy with it so far. It has enough room for me to pack the following things:

A full-size/hotel towel, a smaller towel/cloth (2x the size of a large washcloth), socks, boxer-briefs, blue-jeans, leather belt, Polo-Shirt/T-Shirt, wallet, keys, spare-change, iphone, ipod, weightlifting gloves, swim-goggles (wrapped in a second sweat-towel/washcloth), travel size vanity kit, and a pad-lock... and I estimate that I could still fit more items (a pair of shoes or bulkier clothes if you live in a colder climate).

Some extra notes...

I read some reviews, and learned that you could re-tie the back-pack strings internally for a better fit and it worked like a charm for me. You get plenty of slack so it's really up to you how you want it to fit. I can wear it as a backpack, or I can sling it over my shoulder.

I also love how this thing opens and closes. Yank the cords to cinch it shut, and pry it open with your fingers. It's quick and easy, but still feels very secure.

There is an easily-overlooked, zippered pocket lined with soft felt material just inside the lip of the bag interior that looks like it may be suitable for cell phone storage but I just use the front pocket for speed.

My only (very very small) issue is that I like clasp my padlock to the bag straps for easy access (don't want to dig around for it). I haven't found a great place to secure it, but this is a pretty trivial problem considering I could just put it in the front pocket, or find another alternative.

I bought this for my son who is in 6th grade. He now uses it as his dailly backpack. It hung a little low on his back, but I was able to knot the strings from the inside of the bag. Now it's perfect.

Gregory Denali Pro 105 Mountaineering Pack

As a retired professional guide, I find this pack to be ruggedly constructed and designed for comfort. The zippers, seams, loops, fabric, all the essential materials, are designed to function well and take abuse without failing. The zippers flow easily and do not jam. The pack is designed for versatility with access from numerous locations. The top telescopes to a considerable height to accommodate increased volume. Smaller loads are easily cinched down by compression straps. The downside to all this is the seemingly endless number of straps hanging everywhere, resembling Medusa's head. I miss the big side pockets that used to be almost standard on all backpacks. Fortunately, one Osprey Crampon Pocket straps perfectly to each side of this pack, with the pair adding an extra 400 cubic inches of volume. The yoke system of this pack is superb. Weight is distributed to the top of the sacrum and the hip points by the well designed and very large padding in the waist system. Some believe the weight of the pack to be a disadvantage. This pack plus the Osprey pockets come in at around 9 pounds. I have put 40 pounds of gear into this pack for a 49 lb. total. I have put the same 40 pounds in a 5 lb pack (45 lb. total) and into a 4 lb. pack (44 lb. total) and the 49 lb. total of this pack is immensely more comfortable and easy to carry than the others. I am now close to 60 y.o. and the most I have put in this pack is about 70 lb. In my 20s, I carried as much as 120 lb in my old Synergy Works pack and I can tell that this pack would easily carry that much and in far more comfort. There are other great load haulers such as McHale and Mystery Ranch, but the M.R. weighs even more and both are extremely more expensive than the Denali Pro. For serious backpackers and Sherpa duties on up to medium rated rated world class mountaineering expeditions, this pack is as good as it gets.

As the previous reviewer did a very fine job of explaining many of the features of this FIVE STAR pack, I prefer to instead focus my review on the importance of sizing this pack correctly, which in my opinion, is absolutely crucial to your happiness. The pack itself comes in three sizes, the belt also comes in three sizes, and the adjust-a-cant system can be set at three different hip angles. While there are of course other fine adjustments to be made, these three main adjustments are the most crucial for a proper and comfortable fit.

First, the pack comes in small torsos 16 to 18 inches, medium torsos 18 to 20 inches, and large torsos 20 to 22 inches. These sizes relate to different overall pack storage amounts of 100, 106, and 115 liters. This is definitely not a case of you getting to choose your desired storage capacity. It is about correct torso sizing only. You must have your torso properly measured, either by a local backpacking professional, or by using the guidelines listed at numerous websites. An incorrect torso size, either too big or too small, will cause the pack to sit uncomfortably on your back and could also cause excess swing (movement up and down) and sway (movement side to side.) Both will cause at the least, discomfort, and at the worst, suffering when carrying heavy loads. In addition you will be wasting a fair amount of your energy. You absolutely must get your torso size correct!

Second, the hip belt comes in small, medium, and large. When you wrap the belt around your waist the padded portion should come to no closer than 4 inches from your belly button, 5 inches would be even better. (Hopefully, the dealer you go to will have more than one belt size for you to try.) If you don't have the proper distance from pads' end to navel, the pack's weight will not properly distribute around your hips and again, you will suffer. One size may not fit you for any length of time so you must be prepared to switch out the belt if you gain or loose weight. Personally, I have gone from a large to a medium, and am now going to switch to a small. Even if your dealer doesn't have your belt size, or you buy online here at Amazon.com, so you can't test different belt sizes, this is not a major issue, as you can order a new belt set directly from Gregory/Black Diamond Customer Service in Salt Lake City.

Third, the adjust-a-cant waist harness can be set at three different angles depending on the slope of your hips. In general, men will set it to the least or medium slope and women will set it to the medium or greatest slope. Try the cant at more than one angle so that you can get a better idea of which slope angle works best for your hips' slope.

It is true that the pack is loaded with straps everywhere. However, each set of straps serves a very different purpose and it should take no time at all to understand each strap's function. I use and appreciate every strap.

A nice feature of this pack is its removable top, which converts into a very roomy lumber day pack. It has its own belt with its own belt clasp set, or if you don't want to carry two clasp sets, you can remove the belt clasps from the pack itself and use them with the lumber pack. I usually carry a Marmot shoulder strap with me to provide extra stability and security when I use the lumbar pack by itself.

I don't know if it is still the case, since Gregory sold-out to Black Diamond, but in the past, the Denali Pro was the only major product in the Gregory line made in the United States. The quality of American workmanship (versus Asian workmanship, which is where all of their other packs are manufactured, the Philipines I think.) shows remarkably and this is another great plus with this pack. It is tough as nails!

After all of these years, this pack is still the be-all-end-all of expedition packs, a veritable tank. As the previous reviewer has very well pointed out, don't be put-off by the pack's seemingly high empty weight. There are darn good reasons why this pack is on the heavy side when empty. It is due to its outstanding quality, durability, features, and last but not least, its unrivalled ability to carry heavy loads comfortably.

This pack is somewhat expensive, but as far as I am concerned, it is worth its weight in gold. In fact, I consider the Gregory Denali Pro to be the gold standard in expedition backpacks.

There are THREE critical things in backpacking :

any one of these is not right, you simply will not be right, no matter how well everything else goes.

picking a backpack is first & foremost dependent upon your style ... if you are a trail burner, who joyously mocks others on the trail with comments such as "the lighter go farther!" then this definitely is NOT the pack for you. i'm not making a case for endurance packing or ultra-lightweight backpacking, because i enjoy both, having learned each style provides their own unique rewards.

back to real backpacking ... i'm talking about stuffing 2 weeks worth of supplies into your backpack, including shelter, clothing, cooking, food stored in bear canister, tools, rope, gloves, compass, water bottles/bladder, toiletries, water shoes ... i mean it ALL fits inside this bad boy !!!

the top portion of the pack detaches and functions as a day pack ... this is great, because it allows for day-long excursions from base camp, without having to bring your whole pack. i now dedicate that portion of the pack to my "survival gear", when i want to make a day trip i just disconnect that piece, grab some water, and i'm on my way. when teaching the boy scouts wilderness survival, they are only allowed to bring their "survival pack" ... they are always amazed what is inside my survival pack, including a mini sleeping bag from S.O.L. ... lets put it this way, i'm comfy, they're learning, and the detachable pack is what i use that makes that possible ... great little feature, use it well ;)

any good pack should be adjustable, and this pack definitely shines in this department. depending on how you stow your gear, where the weight is distributed, whether your gear has already been compressed or not, these factors all dictate different adjustments you should make to ensure the load is properly distributed to your body. compression straps everywhere allow for cinching your load, keeping it from swaying side to side or bobbing up & down when walking. ANY movement at all is BAD ... its going to tire you quicker, and many times leads to painful and unnecessary chafing/rubbing spots on your hips, back, shoulders, or neck.

buy the right size pack, bigger is not better, its just a size that is made for big guys in this case ... buy the pack that is SIZED for your body !!!

my northface superlight down sleeing bag fits perfectly in the sleeping bag compartment, and is easily accessible. my raingear fits nicely in the pack and is also easily available in the event of a sudden rain storm. the secret i have found to use this pack most effectively is dividing my gear up functionally (cooking, hygiene, clothes, etc.) and to use separate ditty bags to store those in. that way, instead of a pile of stuff falling out when opening my pack, out pops about 5-6 neat little storage bags all color coded for easy identification. an extra little tip, i use waterproof ditty bags that have a bladder on them ... when i'm going where the pack may fall into water, i actually inflate the bags before putting them into the backpack, to help create buoyancy ... and when i know i need as much space as possible for really long trips, i suck the air out of the ditty bags through the bladder valve, which helps maximize compression and reduce space required.

the shoulder straps feel like a couch, and the belt does not feel like a strap cutting into your skin, which is good because this pack is capable of carrying a 100 pound load. i don't get there any more, a heavy load for me is 80 pounds, or 90 pounds if bringing the camera gear for special occasions & scenery. and that is another excelling point of this pack, it can expand and contract very efficiently, so at the beginning of a trip it may be completely telescoped, but as you travel deeper into your trip, it easily collapses to maintain a proper fit on your torso.

the fabric, stitching, straps, and buckles are all top notch ... if you don't throw this pack around, and keep it clean and free of mildew, it could very well last you the rest of your backpacking career. this is my second one, and the first one lasted over 10 years of very heavy use as a scoutmaster. as an aside, i do NOT recommend this for boy scouts, because its really more pack than they will need at this point in their life. get a smaller pack, more suited for 1 week and weekend outings ... they will KNOW if/when they need this pack, because they will have been bitten by the bug ;)

i don't have a bad thing to say about this pack, even the price is fair for what you are getting, especially when compared to other packs that are maybe 1-2 pounds lighter, but so much more flimsy. amazon had this pack on sale for $386 when i bought it ... which is LESS than what i paid for my first one 10 years ago !!!

don't buy this as your first backpack ... buy it as your LAST backpack ... it REALLY is that good, and thats coming from a user with well over 2,000 trail miles wearing one of these on his back, NEVER complaining about the pack (just those darn switchbacks ;)

EDIT 12.10.12 a camera tripod fits perfectly where skis are normally stored on the backpack.

Gregory Stash Duffle Bag

I have the tarmac colored 45 liter duffle, and I really love this bag. It's my go-to grab and go duffle for quick road trips or instances when I need to in short notice pack gear and head out.

The quality is excellent. The nylon is tough and the stitching is strong, you can throw it around or manhandle it without fearing quick wear or breakage. The handles located on the sides make it easy to quickly grab and manage. The back pack straps are well padded and comfortable, making it easy to walk a city with. And the inclusion of the cinch straps on the top and bottom allow you to pack it to the gills or slim it down when you don't have so much gear.

I commuted on Amtrak frequently when I first bought it, and found it the best for weekend trips out. I've packed a week's worth of clothes and taken it as a carry on for flights to conventions like SDCC and Morrisoncon. I've thrown blankets and other supplies in it and taken it to bonfires on the beach. I've wandered around cities with it. This bag holds up. I want another for a bug out bag.

I originally purchased the 95L bag and it turned out to be way too big! This one is perfect. I love the fact that there is no shoulder strap but the oversized handles essentially function as straps and it also does double duty as a backpack in a pinch. This one will clear carry on no hassle. The 95L is a crap shoot.

as i've become spoiled with amazons rapid delivery,i was surprised when this took 12 days to receive.although it did come within delivery range estimated.had the bag for about a month.very comfortable with padded back support and straps.have used rain hood and is a nice feature.i use the side mesh to hold 18 oz.thermos and a travel mug in opposite one. the side straps can also be tightened over thermos to make even more secure.the "grid-it" organizer that's included comes in handy.so far impressed with quality and roominess.UPDATE:1.5 years and holding up good.some seam stretching but not critical yet.failed to mention before but it has a center strap that connects across the chest,that nicely distributes weight away from shoulders.

I love this bag. It's great for carrying around all my tech stuff to and from work, whether I'm riding my bicycle or flying.

It's kind of small, so don't expect to cram a ton of stuff in the main compartment. I kind of like this though since I tend to overload my bags, making my back strain pretty hard when bicycle riding or walking through terminals trying to catch a flight. Fits my MacBook Pro nicely, with enough room for my KindleDX, some books, and water bottles.

I really like the included Grid-It organizer in the smaller pocket, as this makes wrangling USB sticks, cables, etc much easier.

Seems like the construction is pretty tough so far. Most of the zippers have a strips of water resistant tape over them, which is a nice, especially when coupled with the built in rain hood. I wouldn't say that this is waterproof by any means, but its decent enough to ride for a while in the rain and not worry about sensitive electronics getting damaged.

Overall, I like the look, build, and function this backpack provides, just wish that they would make a bigger model for longer trips.

When I decided to purchase a 17 inch laptop, I put zero consideration into how I would haul it around. A messenger bag style case was not comfortable, and couldn't accommodate all the other junk I need to carry on a daily basis. I will say that if I don't have my other items packed just so, it is a tad tight to zip the bag around the laptop. That could just be because I carry too much stuff, but I think the bag could stand to be just a smidge taller. There is an inset on the bag which is a weird material that I don't love, but is certainly not a deal breaker. Overall, comfortable to carry, roomy and well made. Would purchase again. I am interested to see how it holds up to my daily use.

So I bought this backpack back at the end of August for school use. I have 8 days of school left and the backpack has held up decently. Now the first problem that I immediately encountered with this pack is that the main pocket was rather small and couldn't fit all my books easily, although, through a combination of stretching the fabric and better space management it isn't too bad. I can comfortably carry all my notebooks, folders and my math book. The front compartment is pretty great though, it carries my school ID, pencils, calculator and some other things very well. The pocket on the vinyl patch on the front is ok for a book or something like that, but that's all I've ever bothered to use it for. The media pocket on the top is a bit of a hassle to put up with when something's in it because it is housed on the inside of the main pocket, so when my phone is in it and I'm trying to put my math book away it can be a problem. I usually keep my math book in the laptop compartment because it seems to have some extra room, but I have housed my laptop in it and it was just fine. My final complaint is that the mesh bottle holders have weakened over the months of me putting bottles in them everyday. I occasionally have one fall out on me when I'm picking up my bag. Despite all the ragging I've done on this bag, it has served me well, only showing some minor rips and tears here and there and some cuts on the vinyl.

To be honest this is a good backpack for just your laptop, I just carried my laptop in it before and it worked very well. I just feel like there are better options for school. Also, the included cocoon grid-it is pretty useful.

I bought this backpack on sale at the manufacturer's website for 50% discount. Since it has a one-year warranty, I accepted that I would use this to failure while looking for another backpack for my needs. That was about a year ago, and after using this backpack extensively for hauling officework, my 15.4" laptop, lunch, and groceries on the way home all by walking over three miles a day, it has yet to fail, which is why I'm mildly amazed.

I'm not fond of the front panel or the bottom panel of the backpack. The manufacturer's, Amazon.com's, and SmartOne's websites don't indicate the material of the pack. It appears to be nylon material for most of the backpack and possibly TPU on the front and bottom panels.

TPU is a thermoplastic polyurethane hybrid material of hard plastic and soft silicone. This material has lasted through all four seasons without cracking or weathering, but has not yet seen the extreme arctic temperatures in the next few weeks where it is headed.

Every inch of the cavernous compartments are filled to capacity by using packing cubes and rolling clothing and socks to fill any empty spaces. Even the top compartment dedicated for media storage (i.e., iPod Touch with an exit port for the headphones) is stuffed with small, hard-cased items. I have yet to fly out but still the overfilled backpack has not failed.

I'm thinking of taking this backpack on travel excursions more often for business in the future until it finally does fail from the hard use and abuse I give it.

I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a spacious daypack fast and doesn't mind window shopping for a better quality backpack at the same time to replace it. If you use a daypack alot, especially walking daily with it to work and anywhere else, including abuse (I haven't packed it with wrapped bricks yet for the GoRuck Challenge), the Cocoon Central Park Sport will last you at least a year.

The Access Day Pack by High Sierra is one of the best Back Pack/Day Packs I have ever owned. It is VERY roomy and has plenty enough space to store just about anything. I frequently travel with 2 laptops a sizable 3 ring binder, several hand held radios and at least one camera. This means that I not only need a lot of space I need a bag that will support the weight of the gear. After 3 years of continual use only a few stitches are coming loose on the shoulder straps.

The Access Day Pack, has been great! Although it is not waterproof, it comes with its own rain coat that covers the bag just in case you get caught in undesirable weather. I thought that was a cool feature!

I also an not a big fan of pre-sized pockets and pouches as they never fit my stuff. However the pockets in this bag are really good size and can hold most cellphones or 2-way radios.

The things I would change about the bag are:

1) The top MP3 style pocket. It is big enough to hold your iPod but if you put much else in it you run out of room quickly.

2) I would add another "water bottle" holder on the left side. These pockets are always useful and having a second one would only make this bag that much better.

3) I would add a rubberized waterproof bottom to the bag. If you set it down in a wet area for very long the water will soak through.

I bought this backpack for my tour of Europe. I tour cities in bursts of 2-3 days so this pack has to hold my things for 2-3 days.

Pros:

1. It has many pockets for all kinds of gadgets or items you may have.

2. The bottle holder is far better than in any previous backpack i have owned. It has a zipper to it so you can tighten the bottle agaist the pack to hold it down.

3. It has a rain cover. I haven't needed to use it yet but im sure that day will come.

4. The laptop padding is good. I have had the pack tip over and fall on the floor. The laptop was protected each time.

5. The pack has padding for your back as well. However, there is a con here that ill explain further down.

6. The pack is spacious and wide enough for my dslr camera bag. This is a big plus for me.

Cons:

1. The padding for your shoulders and back has a tendency to cover air flow and makes you sweat. The pack is advertised to have good air flow but this is not true in my experience.

2. The wait strap is excessive and unnecessary in my opinion. My pack is never heavy enough to need it.

3. The pack is advertised to be able to hold upto 17in. laptops but i have serious doubts about that. My 15.4in widescreen laptop fits snugly and hangs out of the top of the covering a good bit. The dimensions of my laptop are the following: 14.25" x 10.55" x 1.54"

Overall a very good pack, best i've had yet.

This is one of the most durable backpacks I have ever owned! I bought it for college, because as an engineer I carry around waaay too many thick heavy books. This bag has been great for walking long-distance with heavy books, biking with heavy books, and carrying heavy groceries home from the store. :D Could be used as a daypack for short hikes, more comfy than many bags, but probably not as comfortable as a dedicated backpacking bag. I am a skinny woman, and this bag was able to size comfortably for me, but my 6'2" husband can adjust all the straps for him too.

The hip strap is well made, and padded so that it is actually comfortable with 50+ lbs of books weighing it down. Can't emphazise how comfortable the hip strap is!

The laptop gets it's own padded compartment in the main pocket, and it is tall enough for 17" laptops. I use it for a 15", and the sides are fine, so I don't know how the sides on a 17" would be, but I expect it will fit fine. Has a nice clip to keep it from bouncing around.

The second (big) pocket out is for shorter items, but from outside is deceptively large because in fact there is a third almost hidden pocket in front of it. The third pocket has a size zip entrance, so it's not very good for books or papers. I don't use it for much except sometimes an extra shirt, or scarf and hat, things like that. If short on space though, remember it's there. The outermost pocket is great for pencils, bus schedules, combs, flat stuff. I use the mp3/cd player pocket for my laptop mouse.

The "suspension system" on the shoulder straps actually has a span of tough elastic in between shoulders and bag. I think it makes the bag ride softer on your shoulders... but also makes it a little more bouncy.

The rain fly is VERY effective, although when not using it is more heavy than you might think. I had a hard time folding it back up to fit in it's underneath pocket. Without the fly, the bag can take 1 hour of medium rain and keep your books dry. Although the laptop zipper will leak and soak the top of the bag a couple inches down, it didn't reach my laptop because the bag is tall. Fly is bright yellow, it also doubles to make you somewhat more visible when biking in the dark. (Not reflective)

I've reviewed this pack for the Black color High Sierra Access Backpack after borrowing it from a friend for travel. I'm a large guy so I had it packed to the hilt, with 2 laptops and the gear to support, some mags and books some gifts and other stuff and the zippers worked easily no stressing.

When I returned I had about 1/3 what I took with me and it was compact like a day pack by pulling the reinforcement straps tight and its small again.

I used the rain cover when I landed in Hono cause we walked in rain to our gate. Nothing got wet. In the hotel i had to dry out the cover before I let it get packed away.

This pack is under advertised and under rated. Sellers I hope you like the photos, buyers I hope the photos answer any questions.

This pack makes EVERYONE ask about it and this pack steered me away from a THE NORTHFACE pack cause of the size, straps, padding and application of so many tasks it covers.

So I originally bought this bag to carry my large lap top, camera, eternal hard drive and what ever else I needed to haul back and forth from work home. It has been absolutely great for that, no complaints at all. have plenty of room of many other things as well such as sandals and a sweater. The weight is distributed nicely and has been a very sturdy.

Reciently I was invited to go on a 2 day hike throught the jungle (I live in costa rica) and the only back pack I had was this one. I thought it might be two small at first but I was able to pack very comfortably:

1 fleece balket

1 mosquito net

1 large first aid kit

1 pair of sport sandels

1 poncho

1 change of clothes

extra socks and underwear

enough food for 2 days

small bag with toiletries

a flash light and 1 sweater

I walked for 8 hour the first day and my shoulders were not hurting at all, the weight was very well distributed and the shoulder straps were very comfortable. The only thing was one part of the sternum straps fell off and was lost, but that I believe was because i snagged it on something and did not notice.

every one on this trip admired my bag and said it was the perfect size. In the end I was almost disappointed it did not rain, because I really wanted to whip out the awesome rain protection this bag has which I have to say was the feature that won me over when I bought the bag.

Hello Kitty Plush Backpack Pink

This has a zipper at the top of the head and opens up a small pocket that covers the back of the head-the pocket doesn't go all the way down the body. You couldn't even fit a little golden book in there. It's cute though.

It's basically a stuffed animal with the tiniest of pouches behind the head. Won't hold much not even a book. Don't get this as a backpack, it's a stuffed animal with straps that can hold a wallet.

this is a great neoprene bag for my macbook13. also bought a rubberized hard case cover (TopCase) and it sill fits comfortably. now i just need more reasons to take my macbook out of the house which i actually prefer not to, but when i do....i'll use my BUILT.

love the color, love the fact that the interior is really soft and blue. fits perfectly well, too. zipper looks sturdy; if you are worried that it may scratch your macbook, i recommend folding it before getting your computer in and out the case. i believe it was a great purchase.

Manhattan Portage Deluxe Computer Bag

I am very happy with this purchase. It has plenty of space for my laptop and a dozen or more files plus phone, pen, planner, folio... it is a very practical bag. I only wish it had a handle on top.

This item is the 15" model first of all. That's not clear from the title but the size listed in the specifications is correct. The size is nice for me. It fits a 15" macbook and is not bulky at all. I bought the navy because it was significantly less expensive than the grey which I would have preferred. The color is darker than the picture of the blue displays on my monitor which is exactly what I was hoping for. It's a nice color blue so if you think you'd like a blue bag it's a classy blue not a garish one in my opinion. The laptop compartment is nice. It has a velcro strap across the top and the padding isn't too thick so you have room for some other things in the bag. The main compartment of the bag is not large and the bag does not have any stretch to it so don't expect to carry anything more than a the size of say a stack of large footprint magazines plus the computer. The few pockets the bag has are on the outside of the bag and they are sewn tight to the bag. This means there isn't a ton of room in them. You can use them for some pens and your iPhone cable. Also since they are not covered if you invert the bag things will fall out of them and since they are on the outside of the bag they will fall out of the bag not just into the main compartment. The flap that goes over the top is mostly decorative. It has only a single buckle closure and no velcro at all.

All in all this bag was pretty much what I expected and I'm happy with it. The quality is great. It's a simple bag and it looks good.

I like it a lot, reminiscent of High School (for you NYC folks). I do have one small grip, and it's the fact that the main zippered pocket is just that... a big zippered pocket... it makes it hard to oranize all your smaller crap. I kind of knew that going into it, and it wasn't a deal breaker, but keep this in mind, just in case you're looking for a bag with lots of smaller pockets. This bag also does have a few small sleeve style pockets on the front side to hold your pens, phone, ID, but that's about it! It's a basic no frills bag!

This backpack got enought compartments for you to organize your material. I use it for work so I carry with the laptop, different types of cables and adapters (several) set in one compartment with charger and bluetooth mouse. Another compartment I got with diagrams and other documentation, You may have a binder inside with no problems. One of the side pockets is for the noise canceling folding headphones when I take a plane. Another compartment for all my documentation when traveling with easy access and also a real practical hook where I latch my keys so I do not worry about the metal detector.

Now you have to be aware that all this space means the more you put in it, the more weight you will have to carry that is just physics. I carry a lot of weight, the backpack have really good cushioning so it does not hurt you but the weight will affect your back if you carry it for long time.

Also I have to say the cushioning is good but I plan to reinforce it, because as I said before is one of my working tools.

I carry allot off stuff with me daily, and this bag can build out all! Very organized compartments. Best non leather I've had.

Gregory Cache Roller Bag

I bought this bag because of Gregory's reputation, a "top 5 summer gear" review from Outside Magazine and the fact that it was on sale and a steal! Have yet to use the bag for the original intent a trip to Europe however have used it for shorter domestic trips and it is perfect. I like the fact that it has a wide-handle/wheel base and isn't prone to those annoying tip-overs. It's a large bag with great zippered storage. I like the feature of the shoulder strap for an "on the fly" hustle through a crowd or airport. Thus far the bag doesn't disappoint.

Batman Drawstring Bag / Backpack

This bag is great. As far as design goes. The fabric used, however, isn't so great. It's too thick and when the bag's closed, looks all lumpy. The worst part is the weak black fabric used to hold the drawstrings. After not even a week of use, it started to fray and come loose of the stitching holding it to the rest of the bag. I had to stop using it before it fell apart completely. It now sits, useless, and a waste of $30 in a corner of my room. ):

I wouldn't suggest this product. Get something tougher.
