Ogio Newt II S Laptop/Tablet Backpack

Ogio Newt II S Laptop/Tablet BackpackI bought this backpack on amazon for college. I did a lot of research before my purchase, I didn't want my backpack falling apart on me again!

This backpack comes with several compartments, one for your laptop, sunglasses, plane tickets (I use this one for wires), tablet sleeve, and a nice compartment at the top for other smaller electronics such as a phone or camera. I use all of these compartments and they are wonderful. They are each lined with some fuzziesh material to prevent scratching. I don't even need a laptop sleeve anymore! (Perfect for the electronic maniac like me.)

This backpack has some serious stitching, I pack everything in here and not one seem out of place. It has foam lined straps and foam lining the back area (where the backpack rests against your back). This can be a real life saver when your campus is over a mile long.

Overall it is top of the line quality. There is one fairly large compartment for storing textbooks and what not, and it's all I really need. It may be a bit small for some, this is no camping backpack. I'm able to fit two full sized text books, and four notebooks in there. This compartment also has the tablet sleeve in it.

I'm not sure if I'm missing anything... The material is of great quality, it doesn't show stains much (it rains mud where I live), I haven't attempted washing it or anything yet. Still looks brand new and I've had it for about four months.

All in all I highly recommend this product. Order in advance m the shipping can take a while, but it is well worth it.

I ordered this backpack because I am deployed and I needed something that I could carry my whole day around in. This fits the bill just right. I am a female of smaller stature so I also wanted something that I could lug around comfortably. The should straps are comfortable and have a good bit of padding and I am sure when I get home that I will use the phone holder on one of the straps. I like that the computer compartment is separate from the main compartment and I really like the side zip option. I have 15" computer and there is more than enough room, plus all the compartments are lined with a soft liner that is anti-static. I love that. There is plenty of padding in the computer compartment and I don't feel like my computer will get damaged when I set it down and swing the backpack around. There are two nice compartments in front of the main compartment to hold all my gadgets, cords, pens, lotion, external drives, etc. There is also a small compartment at the top, near the handle, that holds my mouse. It is a well made product. The zippers are smooth and the stiching is very nice. I really think this backpack will last me for the rest of my life. I am not kidding, it is really well made and I am very hard on backpacks, especially in this environment. The product was shipped to my house, they won't ship to an APO, bummer, but it arrived there in a timely manner.

I'm a college student who was looking for a light, comfortable, durable, and spacious backpack. I initially got the Newt II Mono, but ended up getting this backpack because the Mono was hurting my neck. I love this bag it's pretty much the perfect backpack for what I need.

Light definitely. The sternum strap helps distribute the weight more evenly and that in combination with the two shoulder straps (as opposed to the Mono's one strap) let me load this bag up with a ton of stuff and still feel light. Now if this thing had a waist strap it would be epic but it'd probably look dumb. Hey, aesthetics are important too, right?

Comfortable absolutely. I think someone mentioned the padding was cheap I politely beg to differ. My bag looks nothing but premium and feels accordingly. I walk around all day with a ton of stuff in this bag and get almost zero back pain (I carry a ton of stuff so it's inevitable).

Durable yup. Both the Ogio Newt II Mono and the Newt II S are made of the same nylon-synthetic-ballistic-whatever material, and the stitching is top-notch. Again, like the Mono, I would have liked a skid layer on the bottom, but the material is thick and strong so I'm not too worried.

Spacious dude. So many pockets. So much space. I can carry a 1" textbook, two notebooks, my tablet, my netbook, my lap desk for my netbook, all my electronic accessories (chargers, headphones, etc.)...and still have some room. It's ridonkulous.

The bag does everything I need and more, and it looks sweet. Totally worth the $70 I paid for it.

I ordered this for my daughter who had completely destroyed her college bag and needed a new one for graduate school. This bag arrived and exceeded my expectations. It is a bit dressier for an older professional student and had some great features that were not described fully on the item description, padding on backside, interior pocket organization, etc. She was thrilled to continue carrying her things in the same fashion while looking great at the same time.

Outdoor Products Ditty/Mesh/Stuff Combo

Outdoor Products Ditty/Mesh/Stuff ComboThey have a strange smell to them they has not gone away. If not for the smell then they would be good little bags.

Got these to use for packing purposes. They worked fine. Not nearly as nice as the Sea to Summit Mesh Bag, or better yet, the Outdoor Research set of 3 mesh bags, but they were still totally function and for half the price. The bigger stuff sack is pretty big too. I used it to carry dirty shoes and laundry in my backpack and as a laundry bag for carrying clothes to laundry mats. It could hold 10 lbs. of clothes for those trips There's also a handy carrying strap across the bottom which worked really nicely.

RE: the smell, they do have that manufactured-plastic smell to them, but it's not a huge deal. Definitely wouldn't have noticed it or commented on it, if it weren't for the histrionics of the previous reviewed.

8 - 10.1 inch Gray / Black Reversible Neoprene Netbook Notebook Laptop Sleeve Bag Carry Case for iP

8 - 10.1 inch Gray / Black Reversible Neoprene Netbook Notebook Laptop Sleeve Bag Carry Case for iPad, Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, SamsungThis cover is a decent choice for the TF700 Asus Infinity tablet with dock. It is a bit snug, but covers the tablet and will protect it from scratches (not drops).

I got this product so that I would be able to throw my Asus TF into my bag without worrying about scratches and such. Originally planned to use it when only using the tablet without the dock, but it does work for the tablet both docked and undocked. When docked it is just a tad snug but it doesn't take much work at all to get it on over both. My only complaint would be that the wrong color got sent, but not much of an issue! :D

OGIO Convoy Bag

Ogio Convoy BackpackI needed a backpack for weekend and vacation travel that could also carry my laptop. I was concerned that the capacity was only 1450 cubic inches, but I liked the design enough to give it a try. I love all the pockets, and my laptop is safe and secure. Most of my gadgets and chargers fit in easily, but as expected not much more. A set a sleepwear and a light change of clothes is about all I can get into it. However that's all I needed and I still love the design, so I'm satisfied, and if needed I'll use a suitcase or another backpack for clothes.

I bought the OGIO Convoy to replace a computer backpack stolen on a trip. The OGIO is a perfect size for travel with pockets for paperwork and tickets, phone, gps, music, and room for a light change of clothes and a shaving kit...and small water bottles on the side. I have a 16 inch XPS-15 laptop that fits easily in the computer sleve.

Buy OGIO Convoy Bag Now

I picked one of these up for around $25 on sale, it fits my laptop perfectly, and has enough pockets and space to hold everything I take with me. My only issue with this bag is the shoulder straps seem a bit small to me, It doesn't fit loose enough to be comfortable when I am walking around the city.

I use this bag when commuting on my motorcycle, and it is very good for it with the cross strap connecting the two shoulder straps. It helps it stay snug on me and not move around when cornering.

Over all I would recommend this to anyone who needs a cheap laptop backpack, or taking a laptop on a motorcycle.

I've had this bag for less than a month. Less than 1 week after purchase the bag began to tear. I filed for a replacement and am still waiting for it to arrive. Since then the zipper for the largest opening has broken. This thing is the flimsiest, cheapest made backpack I've ever had and the price is ridiculous!

This backpack is great if you have a light load. I bought it for my brother who is in 8th grade and if you have to fit more then 2 books the zipper will break from the weight. I do not suggest this for kids in school. Maybe only for someone carrying a laptop and a notepad.

Everest Luggage Sporty Backpack, Black, MediumI need some times to carry an extra helmet on my harley and I can't fit the helmet in my side bag so putting in this back pack and putting it on my back works out great.

Nylon Drawstring Mesh Tote Bag - Black

Nylon Drawstring Mesh Tote Bag - BlackWhen I ordered this "mesh tote bag", I looked at the others online that were clearly described as a mesh drawstring backpack and that is not what I wanted. The picture of this one isn't quite like the others (which clearly showed the drawstring backpack design), so I presumed it would have the drawstring handles at the top instead of forming a backpack. Both the price and shipping were less (shipping could have been free!) on the other backpack styles but since that's not what I really wanted, I opted for 2 of these. I received them today. Well, much to my disappointment, they're the mesh backpacks. Considering how expensive the shipping was, it won't be worth returning. The bag itself is fine, seems okay quality and will function as designed just wasn't what I really wanted nor expected.

Cyclus Pangolin Backpack made of reused tyre inner tubes, Black / Grey inner lining

Cyclus Pangolin Backpack made of reused tyre inner tubes, Black / Grey inner liningAs a Krogan who loves his guns, I found that I often had trouble carrying all of them around. I wanted a backpack to lug them about to and from Palaven to help in my fight against the reapers. Unfortunately, backpacks are made on Earth, so most are developed for humans. I contacted the Shadow Broker about a fix for my dilemma. He pointed me to the Pangolin backpack, which would comfortably fit the shape of my hump. It was a bit pricey, but worth the cost. Now I can carry my Revenant, my Graal Spike Thrower, AND my Widow easily wherever I go.

After the genophage was cured, I decided to foster krogan babies. Long story! Anyway, I wanted to spare no expense for my babies. They needed a tough rucksack to carry their supplies to Pyjak hunting class. It was difficult to find a suitable bag because they were all mostly emblazoned with Hanar Montana faces which is, frankly, not befitting of an aspiring Battlemaster! This pangolin backpack is classy, fits comfortably on any hump big or small and won't get you headbutt in the cafeteria.

Buy Cyclus Pangolin Backpack made of reused tyre inner tubes, Black / Grey inner lining Now

I purchased the Cyclus Pangolin Backpack for my wife, as she had found the item a few months back and I wanted to surprise her for her birthday. She could not have been more thrilled. She absolutely loves the ingenuity of Cyclus to integrate both style and recycling used rubber that would other wise sit in a trash heap.

As for the bag itself, it really is made of good construction. The backpack holds its shape well and will protect items inside. The shoulder straps are heavily padded, which is excellent, but the size of the backpack means the bag sits more at the center of the back than at the shoulders, so much of the strap just spans the distance between your back and shoulder, rather than sitting higher on your shoulder as most backpacks do.

The size of the bag is somewhat disappointing as it does not hold a laptop, notebooks, or full-sized textbooks all that well. The back pocket in the bag is big enough to house an e-reader, but that's about it. The organizer pockets are well-designed and easily put to good use though. The space in the bag is good, and it will hold a fair amount of items, but again, smaller or folding items (jacket, lunch in a container, etc).

My wife mainly uses the bag as a work purse, containing her wallet, cell phone, e-reader, jacket, sweater for work, and her lunch, and it still has plenty of room. She is constantly getting comments and questions about how it works and where she got the bag, and how it looks like "a big armadillo," which is, of course, the point behind the design.

The bag attaches at the top with a forked clasp on the carrier's spine side of the bag. I was concerned the clasp would rub against my wife's back and be uncomfortable, but the bag naturally sits off her back at that spot, so there is no irritation.

All in all I rate this item 4/5 stars for its design and use of recycled products. I subtracted one star for its size, and how it sits at the middle of the back, rendering the padded straps mostly unused.

I spotted this bag on a little backstreet in Amsterdam a few years ago bought it for 199 Euros because I knew when I saw it how unique it is.

As a designer item, it is incredibly visually striking simply because it is meant to mimic the protective scales of the Pangolin. The bag I got from Amsterdam extends and retracts the "scales" to reveal the relatively small inner compartment, where the pouches can hold your pens, phone, etc.

I've found the bag to be somewhat impractical for daily use because I'm a commuter and having something this bulbous on your back doesn't make it easy to squeeze onto a crowded bus or train. Plus the inner compartment is limited when it comes to things of a square or rectangular nature. If you have a tablet, a book, and a pair of shoes, you're good to go. If you have a bunch of thicker text books, you'll want something without a dome.

But if you're traveling relatively light with several smaller items, this bag is perfect. It is pretty weather resistant (not completely water proof) by design, but a couple of the panels on the dome are not smooth rubber. The base of the bag (resting against your back) is padded, as are the shoulder straps, which is a nice feature. It's not a gel padding, but a thicker foam type that feels good if you load up the bag with some heft.

I've never seen another one of these bags on the street, so I'm glad I got it when/where I did. If you pick one up, know you're paying for the time spent making it, the materials, and the unique nature of the design. It's worth it!

Want Cyclus Pangolin Backpack made of reused tyre inner tubes, Black / Grey inner lining Discount?

There is not another bag out there like it. It's slightly on the small size, but it's a cycling backpack so it should be expected. It's perfect for my tablet and composition notebooks for school. If you like comments and compliments, this bag brings them in like the plague. Half the time people don't know that it's actually a backpack. In summary: Great for meeting new people. Very Stylish. Innovative. Easy to access. Pricey, but worth it.

17 inch White Butterfly Design Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case with Hidden Handle & Adjustable Shou

17 inch White Butterfly Design Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case with Hidden Handle & Adjustable Shoulder Strap for 16' 17' 17.3' Apple Macbook, Acer, Asus, Dell, Hp, Sony, Toshiba, and MoreThe handles are inside the bag, not outside so you can only zip the bag up to the handle and leave it open around the handle. I'm use to using it that way but I wish it would close all the way. Also of course bag gets dirty easily.

I bought this laptop sleeve/case when I got a new laptop for Christmas. it fits a 17in perfectly. The only thing thats not so good, is that the carrying handles are on the inside of the case so you have to leave the zipper open to carry it. Doesnt really work that well to carry.

Purchased this for a new Dell Laptop. It is thin foam, with a strong odor to it. I let it air out a bit and that helped, but when I unzip it you can still smell traces of it. It is pretty, and if that is what you are looking for, then it is great for the price. Shoulder strap seems ok. The handles being sewn inside and then you can't zip the bag fully is just a silly design flaw but again, for the price, it works ok for now.

On a good note, the shipping was excellent, the product got here exactly when it said it would get here. But the product itself SUCKS! Its literally coming apart at the hems, it isn't sturdy. Dora the Explorer Map & Plush Backpack PURPLE

Dora the Explorer Map & Plush Backpack PURPLEWe were worried after reading the negative reviews of dangerous chemicals... but this back pack is wonderful. I cannot find this warning others speak of inside her bag. There is no odor with the bag. It is lined with a thin nylon type material that should be great for cleaning up messes. It is big enough for my daughter to fit her light-weight blankie, small stuffed animal, snacks and a few small toys in. She also keeps unfolding the map, pretends to study it and puts it away again. So cute! We are very pleased.

I bought this for my 21 month old granddaughter, who loves to watch Dora the Explorer. She loves "backpack and map" and shows it to the tv screen when Dora is on. Very cute toy, well made also. Worth every penny =)

Crocodile Creek Kids Backpack

Crocodile Creek Butterfly Backpack - 11.5'W x 14'HThis is a nice pack for little ones. My daughter is in preschool, and as I watched her classmates pour out of the school building one day, I became aware of how huge their backpacks were. I spent some time looking for one that would not be so huge, but that would not be tiny either. When I came across this pack, I read some reviews, trying to get an idea for its size, and decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did, because the size is just right. It is not too large, yet it is sizeable enough to hold a folder, papers, a snack, and a change of clothes with room to spare. Also the little water bottle holder on the side is cute; of course we had to buy the matching bottle. My daughter is thrilled with the ballerina print as well. I also ordered one for my son, the dinosoar pack, and it's really cute. I do recommend this for pre-K and knidergarten, it really is just what they need.

None of the small backpacks I found at regular stores, like Target, fit a regular school binder. The bigger ones were too big for my 34 3/4 inches little girl. She started pre-school and needed a backpack to carry her lunch bag, extra clothes, and bring home her artwork, homework or notes from the teacher, etc.

This backpack is just the right size! And it is very well done. I think it will last for a good few years.

Very satisfied!

Buy Crocodile Creek Kids Backpack Now

Crocodile Creek products are very pleasing to the eye. Colorful simple images, like a flower or a dinosaur have a sweet look, the way kids stuff should look. There's a gentle innocence and as fleeting as that is in life, I love seeing this sort of thing around the house while it lasts. They're not just cute though, they are practical and safe. Crocodile Creek products are PVC and phthalate free, lead safe and meet or exceed US and European safety standards. The only problem I see with Crocodile Creek is trying to figure out what to get amongst so many great choices, I really love this brand.

The backpacks stand out in a sea of Spongebobs and Spidermen. They are bright and colorful (easy to spot your kid), have an organizer pouch inside, padded adjustable straps, easy to use zipper pulls, and a place to put water bottles on the side. My son now has several Crocodile Creek products and loves them all. I recommend having a look at the matching lunch boxes as well.

I have a petite 4 year old that goes to an academic preschool and she needs a backpack that fits her. (She is 39/40 inches tall) The ones in stores are either so small they wont fit a folder or so big they come down to her knees. This backpack is wider rather then longer, but fits a folder perfectly and it also fits the matching lunchbox so she has nothing to carry (or leave somewhere!) The straps are cushioned a bit and adjustable. The front pocket holds pencils and erasers so everything stays organized and is easy to get to. Overall, this backpack is well constructed and I will buy from this brand again.

Want Crocodile Creek Kids Backpack Discount?

This backpack should be on every OT's/elementary school teacher's list of recommendations for kids, who struggle with regular backpacks! It has a very large zipper with long pulls that make it very easy for young kids or those who have issues with fine motor manipulation to open and close the main compartment. The other big plus is that this backpack is very sturdy and stands upright, unlike most others on the market that collapse in the middle. This allows a kid with fine motor issues to focus on working just the zipper, as opposed to having to hold the backpack upright and trying to pull the zipper at the same time. Not to mention that it is really well made and looks like it's going to last a really long time. It is just the right size for the 4-5 to 7-8 year old lot. It accommodates a regular school size folder, couple of books, a lunch box and a jacket. The design is also very cute my daughter loves it and so do all her friends!

Dakine 23-Litre Capitol Pack

Dakine 23-Litre Capitol Packgot this backpack a few ago but just started using it this week and heres what i think about it:

Pros:

-capable of carrying heavy stuff (books, laptop, etc)

-color looks great

-price is okay

-came sooner than expected

-packaged nicely

-strap are comfortable even when its loaded

-roomy

Cons:

-looks big but what can i expect from an 18 inch

-not sure if its because its not worn out yet, but the backpack seems very stiff and zipper is loud (specially during class)

-inner material of the backpack gets these white marks which is very visible & makes it look ugly from the inside

(marks just by sliding books/notebooks in and out)

-bottom of backpack looks like it may give out within a year..looks worn out just by 2 weeks of use

I bought this as a gift and the person seems to love it and uses it every day. I think they're pretty satisfied.

Mobile Edge 16"PC / 17"MacBook Pro BEF G-Pak Computer Backpack

Mobile Edge BEFGP6 Boomer Esiason G Pack Backpack/I ordered this product as a replacement for an old bookbag. The ordering process was very easy and took just a few minutes. I was suprised to find the product arrived in 4 days, despite using the 5 8 day free shipping. The bookbag itself is very comfortable and rooms. There are several compartments of various sizes, perfect for all the crap an IT guy has to carry. The description states it will fit a 16" laptop; which is does, but my 15.6 is a little awkward to get inside. I do like the extra comfort padding and the elastic velcro to hold my laptop in place.

I ordered this product for my 15.6'' HP Pavilion G6, and am absolutely in love with this pack. I bought it with hopes that I'd be able to carry a couple books for school and what not along with my laptop, and it has enough room for my laptop, my pre-algebra and psychology books, and 2 notebooks. Its got pen holders inside, with a bunch of pockets and sleeves inside for all kinds of misc. items. The pouch on front has enough room for my ipod and 2 packs of index cards. The padding is AWESOME, and extremely comfortable. I am 110% satisfied with this pack, and would suggest it to anybody who's on a budget. Honestly, after receiving the pack, I can't rightly think of any reason someone would want to spend any more money on a pack when they get this awesome quality for a low price 0_o. 5/5 Stars!

The Package arrived right on time, and I don't mean on the latest possible arrival time suggestion, I mean it arrived at noon on the first possible day to arrive. Very fast shipping!

Maxpedition PYGMY FALCON-II Backpack - Black

Maxpedition PYGMY FALCON-II Backpack - BlackThe Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon-II Backpack is a great pack. It provides typical Maxpedition quality in a rugged, well designed, extremely strong and durable product that has MOLLE attachments to add gear as necessary.

The Pygmy Falcon-II Backpack is great for day hikes and even minimalist overnight camping where water will not be an issue. It holds approximately 1400 cubic inches of gear which should be plenty for a day hike. With a thin profile you will be able to trail blaze through bush with no problem. The "Y" compression strap helps to keep everything in place.

Side Pouches

The side pockets will each hold a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle. If water is going to be an issue this pack may not be your first option since it is not very compatible for a hydration system. But you do have options...if water is an issue you can always attach one or two Maxpedition Mini Rollypoly Folding Dump Pouches which will each hold a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle. You have just doubled your water capability. The modularity offers many configurations depending on your needs.

Shoulder Straps

The shoulder straps are well padded and capable of attaching a 4" or 5" flashlight sheath and a single sheath for a multi-tool. These add ons are also available from Maxpedition and are well worth the price. It comes with a chest strap for added comfort.

Main Compartment

The main compartment is a nice size and opens with two zippers in a clam shell fashion allowing you to completely open the pack to get what you need as opposed to taking out all of your gear to find the needed item. The main compartment is large enough to hold a first aid kit, pocket rocket with fuel, food, extra socks, a light jacket and more.

Front Pouch and Slip Pocket

The front pouch will hold a lot of your smaller gear and the slip pocket will hold thin items such as a map, compass, fleece hat, headlamp, etc.

Maxpedition products are designed for hard use, durability and a long product life. Many of the other larger companies cannot and do not match the quality of Maxpedition. I highly recommend the Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon-II Backpack.

I use this bag everyday to work or wherever I go. Had sewn on some cool patches and it's a pretty rugged bag. Been using it for over a year straight and it still has no fray!

This one is well designed and well made. No waist belt, but that's not really needed for something this size or for something that you're putting on and taking off frequently in the course of a day. Also great for carry-on or in place of suitcase for short trips. About the smallest high-quality pack I've found.

Unfortunately, my first Amazon review is not a positive one. I've had this bag for only five months and already it has torn near the top handle at a stress point. I contacted Maxpedition "customer service" and was told that I had to ship the bag back to them with insurance at my expense. Then, after one month minimum, they would determine if they would cover the tear, or if I'd have to pay for them to fix it. So much for lifetime warranty on defects. It felt like an insurance company trying their best to deny a claim. I've dealt with companies who will simply ship a new one and have you return the old on in the box provided. Osprey FlapJill Courier Bag

Osprey Packs FlapJill Courier PackBought this bag about 3 years ago before traveling to India. I wanted a messenger bag with plenty of room and security yet still be easy to access. Space wise it's great, just enough room for a day's worth of sightseeing. I do wish that it had an inner pocket with a zipper to keep my wallet & other valuables a little more secure but the laptop sleeve is deep enough that I haven't had any problems and the laptop sleeve itself is padded well enough that my 15" fits nice & snug. The best part of the bag though is the shoulder strap-it's incredibly comfortable. Wide & cushioned just enough, it makes for a pretty comfortable day-long carry. Overall this bag was a great purchase & since India I've used it for every traveling trip I've been on as well as regular, everyday use (from time to time).

A few improvements that would make this a 5-star bag:

Inner pocket with zipper for valuables. The city gal in me doesn't like putting my phone or wallet in the outside pocket; too easy to get pickpocketed.

a little more padding on the bottom of the laptop section. It's alright as it is but considering the edge of a laptop is one of the most delicate parts, a little extra padding would be helpful.

I absolutely love this bag! Great size, perfect for books or laptop (or both), not too big for everyday use. Excellent Quality, perfect size for a women. Another good bag from Osprey!!

Just bought this bag for work since I am having to tote my laptop to work these days (would love to be able to use a pretty fancy tote but alas my lifestyle is not conducive to it!) I've had several messengersmost recently a Timbuk2 with custom fabric so it looks less, well, messenger-y which I love but can be a little stiff and bulky at times.

This bag is great for that, lightweight, fits a bunch of stuff and is deeper so you can fit more stuff without it looking too bulky or wide. I didn't think this would be big enough for my gear (laptop and accoutrement, full size wallet, makeup bag, sunglass case, some snacks or lunch for the day...) all fits and it's got this cinch feature on the top to keep it all from falling out. Awesome! I intend to use it as a travel bag too to fit my DSLR case in.

The styling is great but I will have to vent about one thingthe flowers on the flap. It's like athletic shoes these dayswomen seem to only have the option of hot pink or lavender trim. Stop it already! You can definitely make it feminine without throwing pink or flowers on it (i.e. the design on the inside of the bag is great, the proportions and the thinner strap make it less masculine ). Ugh I hate it. I don't like that I have to carry around a bag with flowers on it but the rest of the bag is pretty great so I will suck it up. I even considered the men's version of this bag (the FlapJack) just to get away from the flowers but it's a bit big on my frame (5'6" ~130).

Overall great bag, we'll see how it holds up!

I needed a new bag to lug all of my books, stethescope, white coat, etc for medical school and wanted something a little more "grown up" than my old backpack. This bag carries a surprisingly large amount of stuff and has a good number of pockets for organizing. The shoulder strap is quite comfortable. The only drawback that I've found is that on a few occasions something has fallen out of the bag, but only when I've overstuffed the main compartment. Still I would recommend putting anything of great value in one of the zippered compartments. I've received a number of compliments on the bag and would definitely buy it again. It has held up well to the considerable amount of abuse that I give it.

I currently use this bag as a diaper bag of sorts for my toddler and as a purse for myself. It will hold snacks, toys, books, my wallet, cell phone, camera, etc all very nicely. I think it will also be very usable as a laptop bag for when my daughter outgrows this stage. I love the waist strap for using when you ride a bike as well. It is very well constructed, has been hiking and is used daily, and is machine washable! It's also cute and I love the strapsyou can choose the color you like. The flower decals are just printed on, not stitchedwhich would my be only recommendation for improvement. Overall, this is the best purse I have ever had, and by far the nicest diaper bagI wish I had bought it two years ago!

A couple of years back I purchased a Lady Bug 100 tote. They were out of the black so I took what they had...a pretty teal, but not what I wanted for work. I gave it to my sister thinking I would order a black one for myself. I then forgot about it for months, and when I went to order one they were no longer available. My sister offered the teal one back to me but I still wanted something in black. I ordered a "Lubber" tote which is similar to the Optari Sol Tote, but the handles are fixed in one position, and you cannot get things in or out easily. You actually need three hands to make it work. I gave it away. The Sol tote has very cleverly designed handles that swivel down out of the way. They are unique, and make all the difference between this tote and other similar ones. This is my favorite tote of all time!!

Deuter Futura 28 Daypack

DEUTER Futura 28 Backpack, NavyThis is a solid pack. Nothing that made me go 'wow,' but it's flexible and good for either international travel or as a daypack.

The major selling point is that it has a metal frame that curves away from you, with a thin mesh web where a normal pack would press against your back. There are three points of contact where your back touches the bag, two on your hips and one across your shoulders. This is great for someone who sweats a lot (me), I was able to wear it on a recent hike where my back would have been soaking wet, and it was very comfortable.

The design is nice, there's an elastic pouch inside for water bladders, a large main pack, and then a lower pack where I stored clothing. The lower pack is configurable and can be joined to the main pack. There are also two bottle holders and then an easy-to-reach small pouch at the top that could fit a small camera, papers, etc. There are compression straps on the side that are long enough to reach around a rolled-up jacket, so if you end up taking off your coat you can strap it outside the pack.

Also nice is having the frame in a daypack for support. Previous daypacks I've used had no frame and were consequently difficult to pack.

In Germany I saw a lot of people with Deuter packs, so I think that says something about the construction quality.

The only downside is that the pack isn't too stylish. Because it's held off your back by the frame, it looks a little bulkier than if it lay right against you. Still, I never felt self-conscious, it's just that the bag doesn't win any points for looks.

Overall, highly recommended.

I like the layout of the pockets and straps. Every one meets a need I have in a bag.

5 stars would have been awarder if it wasn't for the hip-wings that I find chafe a bit. Maybe I have love handles? It took a while to find the right position for the bag to sit on my back; once I did it feels fantastic. But if the hip-wing material wasn't SO ROUGH it would have earned 5 stars.

Case Logic TNC-218 18-Inch Laptop Briefcase-Black

Case Logic TNC-218 18-Inch Laptop Briefcase-BlackThis is an excellent case for my HP notebook, which is slightly over 17 inches. My 'puter was securely snug, with plenty of padding, as well as overlapping velcro-fastened swaddling. There are plenty of spaces for folders, notes, CD's, power cords and all the trappings that our busy, modern-day life requires. The shoulder strap distributes the weight evenly, so even though my computer is heavy it's very easy to transport.

I'm very satisfied with this case, and I heartily recommend it.

I recently purchased this item because of my HP HDX 18t Laptop, and although its a good product, I had to replace it with a backpack (also from caselogic). There's nothing really wrong with this case--its sturdy and is built well; my laptop fits well inside, it with a little more room to spare for accessories and stuff. But the HDX 18(as well as its accessories) is a heavy mother and it hurts my neck and shoulder if I carry it for more than ten minutes. But the backpack spreads the weight much more efficiently. So unless you have a lightweight 17" or 18" laptop with little accessories to carry around I'd say go for. It has clean lines and looks nice and "appropriate" if your wearing a business suit, but . . . you get the picture.

I purchased this case from another vendor in mid-September. The construction on mine is poor. I use it only to carry from the house to my garaged car and then into work, perhaps twice a week. After merely 2 months, the material is already pulling away from the seam on the laptop side. There is not much room for anything other than the laptop, it's power unit and cords, and a notebook mouse. The pictures on Amazon are deceiving because the laptop side does NOT open all the way; there is an expander that only allows it open about eight inches or so. So inserting or removing the laptop is a pain in the rear. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

This laptop case is very basic, but simple is usually better IMO. It fits my HP HDX18t Premium Series Notebook (18") just fine.

There were only 2 downsides. First, the side pocket doesn't really have too much room for more than a few CDs, thumb drives or thin external drive. They would have done better to put an actual pocket that could hold the power cord (with converter), travel mouse and any misc compact cords. (I guess they wanted to keep the bulk down.) The other problem is that the compartment for the computer itself doesn't open all the way. It is more like a "V" shape. I think they did this so there was less issue with the flap opening up and dumping your laptop (like a briefcase style), but it makes it a little awkward to get it in and out. Seriously, a 18" laptop takes a lot more finger strength to take out when you can't open flap all the way than a 15".

On the upside, I didn't want to pay a lot and this was the cheaper of all the cases I found that was self-contained (padded rather than just a neoprene sleeve). I also won't be traveling too much with it, but when I do need to move it, it will be well protected. It also comes with a side strap that helps due to the weight and size of the laptop. It also has a cross panel on the back of the bag so you slide it down on a handle of a rolling suitcase and it will stay in place. That feature alone is pretty slick if you ever need it.

APPEARANCE

This case is fairly plain and boring. The nylon gives it a shiny look that isn't as professional looking as leather or fabric in my opinion.

FEATURES

It has some nice features that make the case useful. First is a large double padded flap to hold the laptop inside whether it is 14 inch or 18.4 inch screen size. It looks like it can hold smaller laptops well, also. It has a pocket on the front at the top, near the handle, which is nice for quick access items. It has the typical pockets and pen holders inside the front zippered flap (the pockets feel like they are made of felt inside). There is a large back pocket covering most of the back of the case. That back pocket has a zipper section at the bottom that allows you to run the handle of a cart or suitcase through it, which I find to be a nice feature. There is also one thin pocket on the inside where the laptop is stored.

COMFORT

The shoulder strap is very easy to adjust and it has lots of slack to make it hang down or keep it short. The cushion on the strap is not large and not well padded, so it's not the best I've seen. Since this case is for large laptops, I would have liked to see a better-padded strap.

SECURITY

I do like that you open the case up to insert the laptop, but I'm not very excited about the big flaps being on the outside "door" of the case, instead of being attached to the inner-section of the case. This means that when you place the case on its front and open the back door, the laptop is on the door and it is hard to remove. Alternatively, you can put the case on its back, open the whole case while leaving the back door on the surface and you could open up the flaps to remove the laptop. However, the case cannot be opened more than 45 degrees, so you must hold up the case while undoing the flaps. Both of those scenarios feel awkward, so it seems as though they designed the flaps to always stay velcroed, so that the case is like a custom-sized slide-in case.

The laptop is stored on the outside wall of the case with just one layer of padding, which doesn't give as much protection as it could if the big, padded flaps were attached to the inside of the case.

UTILITY

I don't have a massive laptop to try with it, but it is a fairly thin bag, which doesn't allow for a good fit of my AC adapter, let alone any other accessories.

Overall, I consider this to be a basic case that's not very exciting, but it can do the job, as long as the back of the case doesn't get beat on and your accessories are compact.
