J World New York Sunrise

I ordered this backpack on-line for my 9 year old daughter. She had a rolling backpack for school previous to this one that I had bought at target and I was looking for one with some of the same features.

This is a roomy backpack/bag and has enough pockets to seperate books, folders, lunch, etc.

The downfall is that the side pockets are not deep enough to hold a waterbottle.

It is sewn on a slant and the waterbottle falls out when the bag is being rolled.

Also, there are not any loops on the bag to hang the little charms and such that little girls like to do.

It rolls well and is pretty.

Another nice feature is that the bottom is plastic and will not wear through or get wet rubbing on the ground.

They should do something about the design of the outter pockets.

The price was reasonable.

I had just purchased a Gap rolling backpack for my 6 year old son for school when my 8 year old daughter decided that having a rolling backpack would be much easier on her. I found this one on amazon.com and she liked the pink circle pattern. I have to tell you that this backpack is WAY better quality than my son's Gap backpack. This J World rolling backpack is the perfect size for Kindergarten college! I could see traveling with it really easily too. The wheels are super sturdy and the handle is easy to use and doesn't get the kids fingers caught in it like the Gap one does.

Both my children wanted rolling backpacks for school this fall. Just received two of the J World rolling backpacks this afternoon. The quality of the zippers and material is very low. I doubt this pack would last a month let alone a school year. But the worst part the wheels do not roll. They stick so you will likely need to drag this pack to school; which might work in the dead of winter when the sidewalks are iced over. I could understand one wheel sticking on one of the packs lemons happen; but three out of the 4 wheels barely budge when you try move them by hand. Will be sending both packs back.

My 3 1/2 year old son love his Diego wallet. It is very sturdy and durable. I am so glad to have found a Diego wallet since my son loves everything Diego and I can see that it will last for a long time.

I am getting this wallet for my son's frist wallet for his 3rd birthday. I'm excited that I was able to find a wallet with a picture of something he'd know. I'm sure he'll love it and if he lost it it wasn't really expensive. The only downside was I thought the whole wallet was blue, and it is actually purple. Hard to tell from the photo and it doesn't state the color.

17 inch White Butterfly Design Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case with Hidden Handle & Adjustable Shou

The handles are inside the bag, not outside so you can only zip the bag up to the handle and leave it open around the handle. I'm use to using it that way but I wish it would close all the way. Also of course bag gets dirty easily.

I bought this laptop sleeve/case when I got a new laptop for Christmas. it fits a 17in perfectly. The only thing thats not so good, is that the carrying handles are on the inside of the case so you have to leave the zipper open to carry it. Doesnt really work that well to carry.

Purchased this for a new Dell Laptop. It is thin foam, with a strong odor to it. I let it air out a bit and that helped, but when I unzip it you can still smell traces of it. It is pretty, and if that is what you are looking for, then it is great for the price. Shoulder strap seems ok. The handles being sewn inside and then you can't zip the bag fully is just a silly design flaw but again, for the price, it works ok for now.

On a good note, the shipping was excellent, the product got here exactly when it said it would get here. But the product itself SUCKS! Its literally coming apart at the hems, it isn't sturdy. BFM-BLR: Boa Flow M Black Red Backpack (Fits 13-17 Mac)

Booq is known for their high quality (and pricey) laptop bags & backpacks and the Boa Flow M does not disappoint. This is the finest laptop bag/backpack I have ever owned and I've only had it for a couple days. There is plenty of room & compartments for whatever you need to carry, the bottom front compartment will hold a DSLR with an attached 18-250MM lens comfortably. When you put something of this size in that compartment it will result in a large "hump" inside the main compartment, but you can still put a lot in there, take the camera out and collapse the "hump" (it has an adjustable velcro strap) and you have a fairly level setting inside the roomy main compartment which is lined with pockets along it's walls. The laptop compartment is nice and snug and protects the laptop extremely well. It will fit any sized MacBook and MacBook Pro laptop as advertised which was major buying point for me as I currently use a 15" MBP but and looking to upgrade to a 17" MBP at some point. Another great feature about this backpack is how comfortable it feels on your back, the engineering of this thing is incredible, plus while being big enough to carry whatever you need it's not so big that you will feel overwhelmed by it, it's "just right" in my opinion. The only thing I don't like about this backpack is that it will not stand up on it's own (with a modest compliment of equipment in it), you will have to lean it against something or let it lie flat.

Overall I would recommend this to anybody, yeah it's expensive but you get what you pay for and this bag is well worth the money.

School:

When I dropped 200 bucks on this backpack I was just planning on using it as a school textbook + 15" MBP carrier. When I received it the backpack was actually much larger than I expected, and I found the paddings inside the main compartment somewhat annoying for shoving in my textbooks and binders unless I opened the zippers all the way. It's a sizable backpack, but it's not ideal for throwing in 3 or more textbooks/binders. The backpack was bulky and the nondetachable waist straps got caught in the armrest whenever I sat the backpack on a desk chair. It worked but it was a bit too big for my daily school life.

Daily commute:

Then I used this backpack for daily subway commute with my laptop and a load of books. I realized the backpack is a lot more comfortable for long distance travel than I had expected. The only issues were 1) that the nondetachable waist straps fell through gaps when I threw the backpack onto the subway overhead compartment, making it difficult to pull the backpack out of the compartment at once when I needed to get off the subway 2) it was too bulky to stand inside crowded subways. It still got the job done whatever I would throw into the backpack there was not one time it came out damaged, and the backpack remained unstained and undamaged thanks to its solid construction. Also my back didn't sweat as much as I did with other backpacks of this size.

Urban backpacking trip:

I didn't realize how insanely well-built this thing was until I went on a 2-week solo trip all over Norway with it. I fit everything inside the backpack's padded main compartment, and I had to press on the backpack with my upper body to close the zipper. I don't have any pictures but in short, the backpack looked like it was about to explode. And by everything I mean: all of my clothes, my loyal 5D Mark II (the front camera compartment would do a good job of protecting an entry-level DSLR, but 5D Mark II with a 35mm f/2 ZE just didn't fit in snugly), a 100mm f/2 ZE lens, a filter kit, and a towel. One thing I learned (although nothing was damaged in the process) is that if the main compartment is full (as in, bulging out), other compartments will be affected quite a bit. For instance, in this 'about to explode' state I would not have been able to fit an entry-level DSLR into the front compartment. I threw the backpack in this 'about to explode' state into the airplane overhead compartment 11 times (the backpack fit inside every compartment I've tried except Dash 8-100) and checked it in once (nothing damaged, including my MBP 15"). I had a Manfrotto Compact tripod (1' 4") hanging onto the backpack left pocket with one foot the whole time, and once I sprinted with the front camera compartment wide open for 10 minutes (I had travel documents and passport in the thin layers inside the compartment), and nothing ever fell out of the backpack. The zippers are impressively well-built, since they never exploded on me no matter how much stuff I would fit under them. Also, even after two weeks of hectic travel, there were no dust stains or scratches on the backpack. The surface is does not absorb water. If I explored the rain forest with this that could be a different story, but for urban travelers this backpack should get the job done. Was it comfortable? Yes, I walked around with it on my back (total weight 18kg) for an entire day a few times one time and I never felt sore.

Who is this for?

Pro photographer? Probably not. it's extremely well-padded but there are no straps for large tripods nor are there dividers to prevent your lenses/cameras from crashing into each other inside the main compartment. As I said, the front compartment is not big enough to snugly fit any camera bigger than an entry-level DSLR. But if you're a traveler and photography happens to be one of your main pursuits I would say it would be a pretty good bet because 1) if you own an entry-level DSLR you can fit it in the front compartment and 2) if you have a big DSLR you can just throw it in the main compartment with clothes, books, or any objects that will not scratch your camera and lens. In this case I actually recommend getting a separate lens case.

Urban commuter? Yes, if you need to carry around a ton of stuff that needs shock protection. Not to mention your laptop in the laptop compartment, but also anything you throw into the main compartment. Just remember that there are no dividers although there is a thin layer at the back surface where you can slide in files, two Velcro pockets big enough to fit an iPhone or two, and a 5" deep open pocket on the front compartment side of the interior where you can fit in some gadgets. Two side pockets can each fit a 0.6L Sigg bottle, and the front compartment has 3 layers (1 big enough for a camera, 2 thin for more small gadgets, a boarding pass, or folded documents). The bottom compartment has room for an MagSafe charger and more. Just remember that the waist strap can get annoying.

Urban backpacker? Of course. It's pretty stylish for a bag of this size, it's super comfy, and there's no velcro pocket so it'll probably make pickpockets say "Pass." The waist strap could be a big plus in this case, although it's comfortable enough without it. And it doesn't get stained very easily. Just don't go wandering in the safari with this thing.

What could be better?

As I said already the waist strap can be annoying. But this is built for an urban backpacker so I can't really complain.

The top handle gives you a good grip when you're lifting the backpack with one hand, but there's no way to hang the backpack onto a hook like other backpacks (unless the hook is really big). A compromise for sleeker design but I think Booq could have figured something out here.

Putting on and taking off the backpack takes more than 5 seconds. But I think this is a worthy compromise because this is also the most comfy backpack I've ever used.

Boa Flow is the best backpack out there if you're looking for a way to carry all your stuff around cities with maximum protection. It also looks quite nice. I highly recommend this backpack.

Ok I've now had my Booq backpack for over 5 years and have used it everday (similar to this model but I think my model was discontinued). Traveling all over the country and to work everyday. 2 different Dell 17" laptops and now have a 15" Toshiba. This bag is definitely one of the best designed/built pieces of gear I've ever owned. Yes, they are more expensive but in this case, you get what you pay for as it lasts longer and is more comfortable. Highly recommended!

Booq gets the award for best quality backpack, and worst design. Its a good backpack, but two of the features make this a dealbreaker for me. First, the camera pocket is on the bottom of the bag. So if you bag is ever checked, or ever thrown, or anything, you will be extremely worried about the valuables in that bottom pocket, because they will hit the ground first. Second, some may think this is not a big deal, but I do: I need a water bottle pocket! Booq will not put a simple mesh pocket on their bags or backpacks for water bottles. If you ever travel, you know how important this is. Do this while travelling: stop walking, dig through your backpack, find your drink, take a drink, then put it back, then zip up backpack, then put back on your shoulders, then continue travelling. Or, here is an idea, have a mesh water bottle pocket on the side of the backpack for easy access! This bag is not designed well in my opinion.

This bag is very comfortable to wear with ample back and shoulder support. The laptop and camera pockets are very well padded. The stitching and fabric appear to be of high quality. There are more than enough pockets and compartments, but the back pocket stands out as uniquely engineered with a flap that opens upwards. This is surprisingly effective. The handle is padded (thank you!) and the overall design looks attractive and professional.

Case Logic UNS-111 11.6-Inch iPad2/iPad/Tablet/Netbook/Mac Book Air Sleeve (Dark Gray)

First I'd say that the case looks pretty much exactly like what is pictured. And guys, while I guess it technically is a floral design on the accent and liner, to me it just looks sort of abstract geometric pattern or maybe like pebbles. One nice feature is rather than just zipping across the top, the zipper actually goes almost around two sides (making an L shape), so its easy to slip your Air in and lay it in the sleeve rather than just drop or slide. The extra zipper on the front opens about 10 inches across and is about 7.25 inches deep, so it is good room to put a power cord and maybe a few other small things.

One thing that I didn't expect, especially after reading the other earlier reviews on here, was is that it doesn't fit the MacBook Air 11.6 inch quite as snug as I anticipated. While it fits snuggly across the width of the computer, there is more than an inch of space to the top zipper. So, depending on how you use it, I suppose the MacBook could shift around a little. However, holding it by the handles, or just putting it in your bag, it seems to mostly stay put. There is a little more padding than just a neoprene sleeve, so I feel pretty good about the case protecting my computer from minor bumps.

After getting my Air back in December, I spent a bit of time looking for a good case that would fit the MacBook Air properly. I've looked in brick and mortar stores, as well as other places online, and this is by far the best I've seen, both by form and for the price.

My wife just got her mac book air and was looking for a case for it and this one meets her specifications exactly:

* Very nicely designed case for the 11 inch mac book air.

* Small enough to fit easily into a backpack but large enough (and has sturdy handles) to carry around on its own.

* Offers a good deal of padding (more padding than I expected, considering that it's so small).

* Subtle, classy design you can't really see it in the Amazon image but there's a bit of a floral pattern running across the front of the case.

An all around good mac book air case and would probably work well with other similarly-sized laptops and netbooks.

This is a great case. Very streamlined, yet it still has a zipper pocket to securely store discs, cords, papers or whatnot.

It is nice to put into a backpack or larger back because, unlike with hardcase covers, it doesn't take up a lot of room with a hard shell. It is snug too which is a good thing for maximum packing ability. The zipper pocket is not obvious, which is great; I feel fine keeping extra cash in this pocket for when we are on a trip and having coffee while checking our email.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the fabric feels a little cheap, not enough to make me not love it, but I wish it felt less like a quilted tablecloth.

This is a nice padded case that I use for my Eee netbook (@ 10.5" wide). The netbook fits nicely with a little extra room for a mouse & the cords. There is a nice large storage pocket in the front of the case, so well hidden that you'd not notice it if it wasn't for the zipper pull tab. The pocket is not gusseted but provides a nice space for a mouse pad or some other thin item.

Some may not like the flower, rocks, or whatever it is design but it's unobtrusive and it's really not feminine or masculine. The fabric is woven polyester that should be durable and is a nice charcoal gray. The nylon zipper is fine; not a heavy duty model but should be fine for most people. The handles are the same polyester fabric as the case & have a stiffener in the inside. I like that they are meant to fold stay folded down when not in use; it makes it easy to pack this case inside luggage or a briefcase. The handles won't stick up and get in the way. The inside fabric is a lighter gray with the same flower, rock, whatever design in a larger scale.

Clik Elite Escape Camera Backpack

I bought this camera backpack to replace my old Minolta backpack which I have (seriously) outgrown. Overall, the Escape is a good but not great pack which is why I gave it three stars. I would have liked to give it 3.5 stars but 1/2 a star isn't an option.:)

Anyway, some buyer background: 95% of my photography is outdoors and 90% of that is scenic. A little wildlife thrown in just for spice. I carry a 35mm full frame body, spare APS-C body and several lenses. A Sigma 50-500mm zoom and TC for wildlife, a 50mm f2.8 and 20mm f2.8 prime for landscapes and a 28-70 f2.8 zoom for general purpose. Tripod, ND filters, misc. filters (55mm, 72mm, 86mm), hood(s), and general photo accessories. Nothing out of the ordinary. I usually have to walk and generally its a few miles and the terrain is rough; there may or not be a path or trail so I need my hands free. These are not over-nighters just day hikes.

A backpack style camera 'bag' is the practical solution.

The pros:

The top load design is awesome as well as the Velcro'd in and therefore adjustable internal camera sling. You can prop the backpack up, unzip the top enough to get your camera out and then just flop the cover over while you're waiting. Ultra-quick access. There is even enough room to drop the camera into the sling WITH a Sigma 50-500mm lens attached. For full access to the inside you can lean the pack back and unzip the front. However, this pack doesn't come with internal retainer straps so it is possible for lenses to fall out if you're not careful.

The overall internal camera/lens storage space COULD be just a bit larger if you're packing a 35mm full frame DSLR and big (pro) glass. However, I can still fit a Sony a900, Minolta 27-70mm f2.8 G, Minolta 50mm f2.8, Minolta 7D body, a Sigma 50-500mm EX DG APO lens (and TC) and a Minolta 20mm f2.8. If I wanted a second a900 or a850 sized body one of the prime lenses would probably have to go.:(

The straps and back seem well made and are comfortable amazing considering how much all this gear weighs. I really like the chest strap. Nice feature. Time will tell how well the straps are stitched into the pack.

The backpack comes with several removable 'partitions'. I like Clik's design. Unlike most maker's partitions these are not just flat slabs of nylon encased foam with Velcro at both ends. These are lens body shaped on both ends and are flexible. IMHO, I think they actually supply more protection between lenses than the slabs in other bags.

General storage for cards, cords, etc. is found under the top flap covering the camera body. This is a great place for the memory card storage and there are two small zip up pockets for other (SMALL) frequently accessed items. Camera and cards are right there together.

The second storage section is on the lower front. A couple of nylon net bags and a 'key ring' retainer clip and strap are inside. The area is roomy enough for a (small) blower bulb, microfiber cloths, lens cleaner, flexible hood(s)...stuff like that.

The third is at the very top of the pack. I don't know what they expect you to use it for but it's a very handy place to put a map(s), hyperfocal cheat-sheets, etc. I don't know if I'd put electronics in there as I wouldn't want the sun beating on whatever it is under that black nylon all day long.

There is a fairly large removable zippered pouch that fits at the bottom of the main compartment. It's not divided and not too big but its useful for cords, spare lens caps stuff that won't break or scratch and can just be stuffed together in the same pouch.

Now for the cons:

The handle at the top of the pack is WAY to thin. Just carrying it from the parking lot to the hotel will cause the strap to cut into your hand.

In order to get the rain fly out you have to practicality turn the pack upside down and onto its front and its a pain in the rear to put the rain fly back. WHY isn't access and storage for the fly on the top where it should be?

The main storage space inside is too narrow. An inch or preferably two inches would allow for two big zooms like the 50-500 more comfortably. About two inches taller would also be really nice.

The lower front pocket contrary to marketing is useless for anything but a small, cheap poncho a sandwich and a cell phone. There is no padding or protection so anything going in there had better not be breakable. Small things placed in here will eventually slide to the bottom if not in the two small net pockets which means it's vulnerable to being bashed when you set the pack down. The net pockets aren't big enough for more than a couple smallish (55ish mm) filters in cases each maybe a small cell phone.

Which leads us to the two big drawbacks of this pack. Lack of protection and lack of accessory storage....

The bottom of the pack should be hardened and waterproof. This is a backpack after all and will be placed on the ground, rocks, logs, snow, mud, sand, wet vegetation, etc.

IMHO, I think there could be a bit more padding around the main compartment specifically the sides and front. Another 1/3" would be nice.

While the inside is reasonably well padded the two external pouches have NO padding AT ALL.

Which is only a secondary problem. The primary problem is there's virtually no accessory storage in this pack in the first place. Clik wasted the external sides of the pack and could have done a better job with the interior. External, padded and zippered side pockets would be GREAT!(like my old pack) Padded pockets on the inside of the main flap for filters, more memory cards, batteries, etc. Another external (PADDED) zippered pocket above the external existing one would also be nice.

External tie-down rings or bungee cords would also be nice to strap down a jacket and/or poncho.

Body could use a little stiffening. It tends to 'slouch' and fall over when you set it down if you're not careful. This would be accomplished with the addition of padded, zippered side pockets and a little more general padding, so....

The idea behind the design of this pack is obviously to hold a good amount of gear and make it comfortable to carry some distance. What I can not understand is why camera backpack manufactures including Clik can't just look at a backpack and design one that holds camera gear. Clik has it ALMOST right but it still seems like their designers neither backpack nor are outdoor photographers so they lack basic understanding of some requirements for both.

Still, you could do much worse. This is a compact, light pack and properly organized it will hold a respectably amount of gear. If Clik refines this design it could be an incredible product. All in all, though, for hikes in mild weather where you don't have to carry more than a sandwich, jacket, canteen (and/or water filter) and a moderate amount of camera gear it should do the job very well.

Its holds my nikon with every lens i have on it and keeps everything else organized while not in use. I have gone hiking through the plains with it and hiking up mountians with no issues. It protected all my gear and still gave me a little extra room to hold food and water. The rain cover that comes with it is a huge bonus. I got stuck and hour away from my car while hiking during a downpour with no place to hide and kept everything dry. the only thing that got wet was me and the backpack straps. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I believe a camera bag should be able to hold a tripod and this will not hold mine. maybe it will hold a small one but I havnt met too many people with a tripod smaller than mine. Overall, worth the buy!

Good high quality backpack. Paddings are very nice. It has enough room for my camera and 4 lens plus some extral room. Kind of heavy by its own. The main issue is the color is not gray, it is very much green, greyish green. Not a bad color but did not match with what saw in picture.

My high school age son chose this backpack at the start of school last year. He carried it to school every day all year. He has taken it on his school retreat, week of outdoor adventures, a trip to Europe, and sports camps this summer. It has held up great! It is still in perfect condition. Would definitely recommend. I made the big mistake of buying multiple bags in one order from Amazon. I'm already returning two of the six bags I received yesterday but today I received this bag and I wish I could return this POS. I don't want to return too many items which is all that is saving this bag.

This is the worst (no hyperbole) canvas bag I have ever had the displeasure of purchasing. The material is very thin, the canvas is extremely cheap, the black canvas is already covered in lint and about a thousand other particles. It stinks like petroleum or cheap pleather. The stitching is crooked and the lining is not even cut and sewn on correctly. I wouldn't trust the bag to hold the few literates books I need for school, which means it fails even in it's own function as a messenger. It's way smaller than you would expect from the dimensions and it's just awful overall. I'm going to eat the cost, throw it in the garbage and consider it a lesson learned but first I will take pictures to post so this storefront can be avoided altogether.

Also the first reviewer is right the fourth picture is absolutely not the bag you receive. False advertising all around.

I ordered this bag to get out of a hobo style bag that I was using. I love the pockets on it and the amount of stuff that I can put in the bag. It helps me organize what I need for my daily commute and I even used the bag for a recent trip to Rochester NY. I am even thinking of getting more than one of these.

This was a great purchase, and at a great price!! I like that it is free of any "designer labels" and somewhat vintage-y. I love the strong canvas and the multitude of pockets with buckles. Plenty of room for keys, cell phone, sunglasses, calculator, wallet, stapler, etc., and of course, lipstick! I am in nursing school and sometimes have overloaded the bag with really heavy textbooks...not a good idea. A couple of the seams are coming apart, but I will sew them up with super strong thread. The adjustable shoulder strap is absolutely imperative for a bag of this style. I can adjust it to the right length for me. Wearing it across my chest allows me to have free hands for carrying my coffee and water bottle! If you're looking for something flashy or trendy, this is not the bag for you. If you want quality and subtle "coolness", this is it!!! Btw, the color in the descriptor says "grey black", but I have to say it is more of an olive green/brown.

As a road warrior traveler, I've learned that compromising on luggage eventually results in a really inconvenient problem, ie luggage failure. I've been using Briggs luggage for 10 years and can attest to it's near indestructibility. And, if you do happen to destroy it, they'll replace it free of charge. I recently bought the BRX backpack to replace a Travelpro Execufirst. It fits really well under he seat on a plane (which was the issue with my Travelpro) but still offers plenty of room. Looking forward to another decade of satisfaction.

I like to travel light, and usually take either my Briggs and Riley BRX backpack or my BRX 22" wheeled carryon and avoid checking my bags. However, when I go on longer trips, especially overseas, I take both, checking the carryon and taking the backpack with me. This is especially helpful when I have longer waits or layovers at airports, as I can have full use of my hands as I walk around the shops, restaurants, restrooms, etc. at airports.

This backpack is perfect size, not too bulky or heavy when carrying it, but large enough to handle all my travel documents, tablet computer, toiletries, medications, and one day's worth of clean clothes in case my checked luggage is delayed--which unfortunately has occurred a number of times. The main compartment of the backpack is large and easily accessible, with a laptop sleeve. The smaller front compartment, with sub-compartments, is large enough for a paperback, writing materials as well as other miscellaneous items. There is also a small side compartment for my iPod or cellphone as well as two very convenient zippered compartments near the top handle for easy to get to travel documents and other small items. I really like the very comfortable padded handle, making it easy to use the backpack as a hand carry bag as well as a backpack. The mesh water bottle holder is also handy.

Workmanship is top notch and like my carryon, the bag is light, rugged and attractive. I have taken backpacks on trips dozens of times and this backpack is by far the best one I have ever owned. Also, it's nice to know that all Briggs and Riley luggage come with a hassle-free lifetime guarantee.

This is my fourth Briggs & Riley Bag and my first purchase from the BRX Excursion collection. The bag is light weight, which is a MUST for me, and offers lots of pockets and organization features. The ocean blue is a beautiful color, and I like that the outside pocket is lined in a contrasting orange color. It would have been great if the rest of the bag had been lined in the same color. As with all other Briggs & Riley bags, this one is built to last, and the lifetime warranty eliminates having to buy new luggage when the old one breaks down or is damaged by airlines. This is a Briggs & Riley backpack. That's all I should need to say. Briggs & Riley do such a great job in making luggage, that you should be able to just stop now and go buy this backpack. IF you don't believe me, then you probably haven't seen the Briggs & Riley warranty. It's the only true lifetime luggage warranty on the market. Spindle, fold, mutilate, whatever you do to the luggage, B&R will repair or replace the luggage. They don't care what the cause of the damage is. The charge a premium, but that premium is well-justified.

Having said all of that, I found the one way in which the vaunted warranty is nullified. I had the bag stolen. Yeah, for obvious reasons, B&R won't replace a stolen bag. That's why I've bought this bag twice. It's worth it.

Let me discuss this specific model for a moment. The Excursion backpack works really well as a daily work bag or on a long trip. I use it when I go to the office, on long business trips, and even when hiking across Switzerland. It was great in all of those cases.

The bag is extremely comfortable to wear over long times. The strap system is very adjustable, and the back padding is vented to reduce trapped heat. However, if you wear this while hiking, you will eventually start to sweat across your back. It's not a miracle-worker.

The main pocket provides ample room for my variety of books, electronics, and papers. The laptop pocket is spacious and easily fit my 15 inch Dell latitude (and the much smaller 12 inch Thinkpad X201 that I originally had. Sadly, that was IN the first bag when it was stolen.) I can fit about 4 layers of stuff in the bag and design of the zippered opening makes it relatively easy to get to all of it.

The bag has four secondary zippered pockets available that give a nice array of locations for my stuff. The side pocket seems intended for a cell phone, but who keeps a cell phone in their backpack? I use it for my various chargers instead. There is a small pocket on the flap of the main compartment and another small comparment just above the shoulder straps. I tend to use one for my laptop's power brick (the one on the flap), and the other for change and small items. It's relatively deep and is still hidden behind the back padding so items in it don't dig into your back.

There is also a main secondary compartment (does that make any sense?) which sits near the bottom-center of the back of the bag. This compartment has several secondary pockets for dividing up all of your various crap. It has one interior zippered pocket and three other compartments. It doesn't have any of the items you would find in a briefcase or laptop tote (such as business card pocket, pen sleeves, etc.) That may be the biggest complaint I have.

The interior color of all pockets is a high-contrast color to the external bag color (in the case of my ocean blue backpack it's traffic cone orange!) This is a nice touch that makes it easy to tell, from across the room even, when a pocket is open.

There is also a mesh gusset pocket on one side for a water bottle. This held my camelbak 20 oz filtering water bottle for 10 days hiking around Europe, so I know it has a good grip. I would be concerned if I had an overly large bottle to fit in this pocket.

Finally, there are some exceedingly sturdy loops for carabiners to clip onto. These are on both sides of the zipper to the main compartment. They are metal reinforced and seem very tough, but I haven't actually clipped something to them, so I can't speak to it.

After a few months of use (and one robbery), I highly recommend that you buy this. Just don't buy it off E-bay, because you are likely encouraging the thief who took my stuff!!

There is no backpack that compares to the BRX from Briggs & Riley. After pining for it for years, my wife finally gave it to me as a Christmas gift a few months ago. The construction is excellent. There are pockets within pockets, extremely comfortable straps, durable zippers and lining, well-padded interior for laptops, IPads, etc, plenty of room for books and you name it, and it even has gear clip tags for light climbing/hiking excursions. You can tuck the straps into their sheath effortlessly and handle the bag like a carry-on using the extremely comfortable, padded handle on top. The ID tag slides out of its own pocket, which is insanely clever. But the best part about it is that it will ALWAYS perform. If it tears or breaks somehow, all you have to do is take it to a B&R certified repair technician in your area and they will fix the bag free of chargeFOR LIFE. You will literally never need another backpack, unless you lose it or it gets stolen. My only complaint is that if you are over 6'5" you will find it difficult to adjust the bag's straps to rest in the middle of your back. I'm 6'4," and I need to adjust it to somewhere near the very end of the adjustment slack. If I were one inch taller, I would not order this bag. That being said, for everyone under that height, it's the backpack to end all backpacks. I offer the BRX my highest recommendation.

Well it's my own fault that the bag is too heavy for me. I should have known. There's too much leather--folds and flaps--for the amount of storage. The access to the center is complicated what with drawing the straps through the ring to make room, then unzipping it. This is a nice little bag. The only problem is that the lining in sewn into it incorrectly! The inner zipppered pocket is clearly in the wrong spoton the narrow side of the bag, instead of at the rear where it should be. Another reviewer mentioned the same thing, and it seems these bags should be advertised as "seconds" if this is indeed the case. I would give this product 5 stars if not for this fact. My only disappointment is that the zippered expanding pouch for the ball is thin mesh fabric that might rip easily, however all bags of this type use the same mesh fabric that I have seen. I've had a lot of computer bags over the years; timbuk2, swiss army, targus, you name it.

This is the first bag that I've used that has this much level of versatility and build quality. I see myself keeping it for a long long time :)

What do I mean by versatility? Let's start by the outside.

It has strategically placed metal loops and hooks to create many different configurations depending on what suites your mood that day (or how much stuff your hauling).

Straps on the back can make it a backpack (they can be hidden in a compartment when not in backpack mode).

Hooks and strap can create a vertical or horizontal messenger bag.

If you hide all the straps you can use it as a vertical or horizontal briefcase.

Another thing is that it has quite a bit of pockets.

The front has a vertical zipper which opens a map compartment. This makes it very easy to access and it's larger than it looks (fits a kindle AND an iPad mini perfectly). The front pocket itself opens wide to reveal several pouches and straps to put in your keys, documents, pens, chargers or whatever you might think of.

The main compartment has an adjustable laptop pouch with padded velcro sides, this way you can adjust it to the thickness of your laptop. So yeah, it will fit your super svelte 15in Macbook with Retina Display or your chunky Dell work laptop just fine ;)

The main compartment also has space for books, laptop chargers, tablets, headphones, whatever. I've stacked it with so much stuff, yet I haven't really been able to fill it all up completely!

If there's anything I can complain about is that the bag itself doesn't hold it's form well when empty. It's a minor con in a long long list of pros :)

I love it. The bag is high quality, looks cool, and has all the features I was looking for. It has a total of 13 pockets plus the main compartment and the compartment for your laptop. Just wanted to point that out because someone mentioned that this bag doesn't have enough pockets for him.

If you don't use it as a backpack, the overhanging end of the shoulder strap does look funny, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Another thing I wanted to point out is the zipper on the computer compartment. I have the same kind of zipper on my backpack that I use when I mountain bike. It has been through rain and mud and has not let any water in. I feel much better about it than a regular zipper that most of the other cases have.

In short, I'm glad I bought this bag after looking at Timbuk2, Crumpler, Chrome, and other brands. And yes, I would buy it again.

I've been searching for a while to find the ideal work bag/briefcase. I live in Tokyo and have a 2.5+ hour round trip commute, including subways, taxis, and 25 minutes of walking. I pack my lunch, and also workout during lunch hour, so I needed a bag that could carry my laptop, a small sandwich lunch bag, and clean workout clothes, in addition to various work-, computer-, and commute-related accessories (ipod, paperback novel, mouse, network cable, pens/pencils, calculator, eyeglass case, etc.).

I'm happy to say that I finally found a bag that not only fits the bill, but is very comfortable to carry. My old attache-style laptop bag was not only too small for my purposes (meaning I had to carry extra stuff with me), but also could only be carried on one shoulder. The BBP design gives me the option of carrying it messenger-style, but really shines when converted to the low-slung "Bum Back Pack". The straps are easily adjustable, too, so I can leave them long for increased ease of slinging it on and off my shoulders, but once it's on, I can cinch it tighter for those last-minute rushes to catch a train. I personally don't have any issues with the bag banging against my back when walking, and I seldom use the chestor waist-straps. (If you have the bag slung too low on your body, I could see this becoming an issue.)

As for space and pockets, it's very roomy, with quite a few pockets for organizing your gear. If I had to pick one thing to improve, I'd ask for just a few more pockets. While the current arrangement is adequate for all of my stuff (and I have quite a lot of stuff crammed in there), a couple more pockets/pouches in the second-to-largest compartment would be welcome for organizing my things.

Construction is very sturdy, and appears capable of holding up to quite a bit of abuse. (I've only been using the bag for a short time, so that's about all I can say regarding durability.)

Overall, this bag is the best mix of comfort, fit, form, and function that I've found to date, and much less expensive than some of the others I've used. I can now fit everything I need into one roomy, well-organized bag that gives me multiple carrying options, and fits comfortably on my shoulders for the long commute.

This bag totally rocks for what I use it for: a 30 minute walk to work with my laptop, a sort-of professional look while I'm around the office, and travel.

For travel, the outer laptop compartment makes me cry tears of joy every time I'm at the security checkpoint. When I'm around the office, the messenger-style strap looks way more presentable than a backpack. And yet, I can walk for miles with this thing all loaded up and not break my back.

Only possible drawback? Hey, it's no stylin' Gucci bag or anything. It's a workhorse that looks like a workhorse.

The BumBakPak offers a lot of storage in a compact space. There are 2 major sections, the large front storage system and the single pocket in the back of the bag for your laptop.

The back pocket is a padded, suspended pocket that does a good job of protecting the laptop and keeping it close to your back for better balance. On the outside of the back pocket are padded bump pads to keep the laptop from banging against you as you walk.

The front storage system has a large center pocket with an internal mesh pocket. In front of that pocket, still protected by the flaps is another large zippered pocket with a bigger compartment and 2 pockets for storing cables, etc.

In front of that is a smaller flat pocket suitable for a small notepad or journal.

On the face of the main part of the bag are pen-holders and a small zippered pocket.

Covering all of this is the exterior flap which locks into place with 2 plastic fasteners. On the face of the flap are 3 pockets of various size for storing MP3 players, cellphones, etc.

At each end of the bag are additional pockets.

The bag is well balanced, when walking it rests against your lower back. This is the best laptop bag I've ever owned, and I've owned quite a few over the years. Because of my work and hobbies, I carry a large number of cables and digital accessories. This is the first bag I've had where I could comfortably carry all my stuff and not feel cluttered.

First of all, this is a really good bag. I almost never use it as a messenger bag, mostly because it's quite comfortable as the backpack. The zipper for the computer section, as one commenter mentioned, is incredibly well made, and am comfortable slinging my computer in there whether it's snowing, raining, whatever. The computer pocket is VERY well padded too. There is plenty of room on the inside of the bag for books, and there are enough (but not too many) interior pockets and separated space.

I did have one problem with the middle buckle in the "backpack" configuration the one that connects in the middle of your back. It wasn't holding the bag as high as I wanted when my computer was in the bag, or I had heavy books. If I stepped off a curb, the weight of the bag would cause the strap to slide all the way down. I contacted BBP Bags and they sent me a spare buckle and instructions on how to put it on, which was quite easy. Now the bag grips perfectly, no matter how much stuff I put in it.

The only thing I'm a bit disappointed with are the pockets on the front. The zip pocket in the middle is the largest one, and annoyingly, it doesn't zip closed straight, you have to turn the corner of each side and if you don't zip it closed all the way, it seems to slowly open back up. If you don't notice this and flip open the top, all your stuff comes flying out. The other two pockets (on either size) seem to actually be too small to fit anything useful into. I think the one with the snap is supposed to be for a phone, but my phone is too tall for it. The other one has a sideways zipper that is good for ... chapstick and my subway pass I guess. I'm not really sure what it was supposed to be used for actually.

So that's the only issue with this bag: I need larger and more accessible pockets on the outside to easily reach things that I need regularly (phone, chapstick, wallet, keys, iPod), and I also need those pockets to close easily and securely.

It's still the best bag I've found and won't be looking for anything else anytime soon though.

First off I love this brand. Great design. Great Quality. But look closely at what you need it for. If its for school and your kid is required to carry very large books, this bag is not for you.

But if they only need to bring books occasionally home, then this is perfect. It works great for us. Can fit a small ultraportable class laptop, and books. Nice organizer in the front. The shoulder strap helps in reducing the weight and discomfort.

You can't go wrong with this brand either. They have many different kinds and sizes. Just look up their website. Much easier to browse than using Amazon.

This is a very cool and stylish backpack, but it is still great for hauling stuff around. I can fit all my school stuff in it with extra room left over, and the weight is distributed very well. I only really have 3 issues to comment on about this backpack. One: you can't really tell from the pictures, but this backpack is deep instead of wide. If you put in a regular size folder it is so far down that you practically can't see the top of it. My friends have hence nicknamed it "the bottomless pit" because of how my stuff "disappears" into it. Because of this, you sort of have to stack stuff on a heavy day rather than cram it in. Two: It didn't have enough pockets for me, personally. The way they designed it is so specific that it really only has pockets for sunglasses, 2 electronic devices, and a pencil; this doesn't give you much leeway in what you want to put in the pockets. I ended up using the cooler pouch to store my calculator because it wouldn't fit anywhere else (and it the pocket is almost the exact size). Three: this one is really trivial but the zippers clank a lot! It's really not that bad most of the time, but it is really conspicuous and annoying when I am walking between classes.

OVERALL: this is a great backpack for school/college. It has great style, it's durable, and it holds a lot of stuff. You just might have to get a little creative with where you put specific things ;)

I purchased this to accompany my daughter and her new, matching Dakine Wheeled Duffle to the UK. I'm not sure what she'll be able to fit into it though. It is made for thin things only. I suppose you could squeeze some thin mints into the insulated front pocket; certainly not an overstuffed sandwich for the road. You could get a few travel magazines in the main compartment, but forget having a place to stuff your sweater on the plane. It really is that thin. The glasses compartment is normal sized... although my daughters glasses are thin frames, so there's not much benefit there. I'm not sure whether I'm keeping it. Maybe I'll try one of the other Dakine options to keep a matching set.

Overall, stylish, yet disappointing. Only recommended for light book duty. Not for travel or high school/college (unless you're going part time and have a light course load or only have thin, unloved books).
