Lowepro Fastpack 350-Red

I bought this particular backpack for several reasons. I like to have a bag/back pack that can hold both my computer and gears and my photography gears. I have looked into several models which can be really expensive. Since the main purpose of this back pack is to transport my equipment during travel (air plane), I though this would be a good choice. When I received the backpack, the first impression was it is huge!!! Yes, it is but it will fit the space on the airplane (carry on) with everything loaded. However, it may be slightly high (tall) and can be difficult to place under the seat in front of you for the small jets (regional jet). In addition, it can handle a 17" wide screen lab top easily.

The construction of the back pack is good quality and there are ample space to put the equipment. However, it is a little difficult to use this backpack to carry any letter size document without using the computer compartment. Hence, you will not be able to carry lots of document and might need to carry a portfolio on the side.

The packpack as designed will be able to be sling and open the zipper to get the camera. I tried this and it does work nicely. It is comfortable to carry with a full load all day.

Overall it is an excellent designed pack pack for computer and photography equipment transporter. It is bulky but possibly required for the type of equipment it will house. One thing that I had not tested is whether it is rain proof.

I ran across this Fastpack at the PMA08 Convention here in Las Vegas and wanted to purchase it right then and there but couldnt. So I waited about 2 weeks and ran across the 350 on Amazon and ordered it. It has all the functionality that I was looking for. It incorporates my small form factor 12in laptop in the back with plenty of padding and quick access to my DLSR. I have had this on my back for hours and it doesnt get uncomfortable when properly adjusted. I am very pleased with the design. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has been wondering if its worth it.

A great bag. Compact for its size, I can carry my D-200 with 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, 18-55mm f/2.8 lens and flash in the lower section. Upper section has plenty of room for my KATA raincover, windbreaker and pullover cap, which is accessable with ease. This is extremely handy, especially when the weather takes a turn during football games.

My 15-inch laptop fits in the side pouch with no problem. All that gear can be heavy, but shoulder straps are padded and The hip and sternum straps help to distribute the weight correctly.

Unlike other combo bags that I've owned, which were much wider, this Fastpack 350 is compact and should be no problem being a carry-on for taking along on plane trips. I highly recommend this bag.

I have had this bag for only a day now and I have to say it's awesome. it's camera gear compartment fits my current EOS 40D with Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras attached plus my Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras, my 430EX flashgun and two more lenses.

It's comfortable to carry and walk around in, but it does get a bit uncomfortable when you have the laptop with you during long walks, but I guess that is to be expected with such backpacks.

It may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially for Photographers who want to carry a lot of gear around. But I also like the easy camera side access, which for me was this bag's selling point. I can reach in and pull out my 40D with complete ease.

Great bag if you're considering it and you have about the same gear I do.

Comfort Grip Luggage Handle is a wonderful invention that comes under the heading of "Why didn't I think of that first?"

This is a really excellent idea that functions to make the handle of your luggage more comfortable to grip, especially if you are carrying a heavy bag. It also makes your bag clearly visible as yours from a distance, thereby replacing all the ribbons, crocheted chains of yarn, etc. that you've used before.

Since I travel several times a year, I really appreciate this item. It is a wonderful invention that has been produced very well.

I'm surprised you don't see more of these at baggage carousels -they are a great product to identify your Costco or similar ubiquitous pullman from the crowd. We bought this set to replace an identical pair we lost on our last trip, the first loss we've had on Alaska. Since BOTH were "lost" between checking in and retrieval, we are convinced they were just stolen by handlers (but, why?). The grips had traveled the world over many trips without loss, so how could they both have disappeared without help? These come in three colors, and the orange color stands out best against our dark bags. We have them on the side assist handles rather than the top (as the top is the position where you are more likely to use the telescopic handle). The foam in the covers does make the strap more comfortable to lift, although these are not bags you would carry far anyway. The construction is durable, and the Velcro closure is very secure (and, not likely to even come undone in automated baggage sorting systems). Still, their primary value is in identifying your luggage, and they provide a good "beacon" to achieve that end. That's why we immediately ordered a new pair after discovering the loss of our old ones.

May be good for full sized luggage. I bought it to cover a messenger bag handle, but it is doesn't wrap tight enough. It gathered and made the handle uncomfortable. Used them for one day before they went into the trash.

High Sierra Opie Backpack

I am a school teacher and a mom. This is big enough to fit my laptop, a few books and a makeup case, I take this to work and home everyday, or if we are going somewhere, change of clothes for kids. I did not want big and bulky backpack. This is just perfect. However, if you are a student that carries multiple books and binders on a regular basis this may be too small.

I started college with a backpack my mom got for me from costco (ful I think) which I found very cumbersome with regards to the height (especially when biking which is my only means of transportation aside from walking), shoulder straps, and the sheer ridiculous amount of pockets it had. I started looking for a new backpack with the following in mind: it had to comfortable size wise (so shorter than 19"), had to have 4 or fewer pockets, no computer/tablet slot, and be sturdy enough to withstand the constant strenous strain of college. Overall, I freaking love this thing. I didn't think I'd ever hold this much affection for an inanimate object as I do for my backpack. I normally never write any reviews since I don't usually find the product important/satisfying enough to bother with one. But I have to say this backpack deserves it!

Pros:

Color: I bought this in the ash/chartreuse and I must say I love the color combination! It's just enough green to make it stylish, but not gaudy; and I found the grey to be more feminine than the standard black fare.

Size: The size is deceptively small. On the outside it looks quite svelte, but you can fit a lot stuff without too much trouble. I generally carry 4-5 notebooks, 1 1" binder, 2-3 smallish paperbacks, 10" tablet w/case, and if necessary during midterm/final's week my ochem textbook which is a bit thicker than a 2" binder, and a pen case along with other knickknacks like my phone, water bottle (1L so bigger than most), etc. It fit everything nicely and without any problems!

Construction: I have to hand it to High Sierra, they made this backpack quite resilient. I've had my backpack since October of 2012 and have stuffed it with books and textbooks until I thought I would break my back and still it withstood it all quite well. There has been no fraying around where the straps connect and I've had no problems with the zipper, even when I stuffed it. I'm not sure if it's waterproof or not, but when I was drenched, my notebooks and thankfully my notes were all dry.

Cons:

I find that with a heavy load, the straps get rather uncomfortable and with extended wear start digging into your shoulders (heavy load as in 2-3 textbooks and 4-5 small hardback books).

There is only ONE! side-pocket. This is a bit annoying since I generally take my water bottle and coffee cup/thermos thing with me; I have to put my waterbottle inside the pack which reduces the amount of total stuff I can carry around and messes up the weight distribution. Moreover, the mesh of the side pocket tore after a month and I had to mend it by sewing a protective patch around the mesh.

It doesn't have a body of it's own so it slouches if you take a lot of stuff out. It might not be a big deal to most, but it drives me insane when it slouches and falls around while in a cramped lecture hall since it makes taking things in and out a bit trickier. Of course this was remedied with the binder, but otherwise it doesn't stand on its own.

I bought this bag for my first grader. It has worked well so far. He carries a good number of books and it has held up so far. The three compartments are a nice touch as he is able to compartmentalize his books based on size and keep his stationery is a separate compartment. Really good purchase.

Harajuku Mini Backpack Nerds Rule

This bag is sooo cute and its almost the size of a normal backpack. It seems fairly sturdy but with something like this i wouldn't recommend putting anything large or heavy in it. Harajuku products are for fashion purposes mainly so it satisfied me just fine. I got it as a present for my friend who is into all kinds of exotic fashion and she was blown away.

We love Harajuku mini but after three months the zipper broke already. It is not as sturdy as we needed for a school backpack but really cute for caring a few things that are not heavy.

This bag is alright. If your child is hard on their back pack, then this is probably not the bag for you. it doesn't feel like it will last the school year, but since we still have the more expensive jansport I bought last year, I got this one because she wanted it so badly.

Case Logic 16" Laptop Sleeve

I had bought this item for my 17" widescreen HP DV9000Z. I was concerned about it fitting because this item is listed multiple times under different names and each has a different size. I had read in one review that it didn't stretch at all so I was really concerned. For the price I thought I would try it and return it if I had to. In reality it fits perfect and the material does infact stretch a good amount. Not only does it fit my notebook perfectly I was confused on the pictures that there was two small pockets on the front because of the two zippers. It is one large pocket enought of fit my power supply, 2 cords, mouse, and more. It streches around anything you put in there. I had bought it so I can keep everything together at home around the house and then easily slip it into my briefcase. I am so glad I had gotten this 15" eventhough alot of description says its for a 15.4 inch screen. If I had that size screen it would be too large. So make sure you measure your laptop and not assume the 15" means 15 inch screen.

This is a well made quality case. It won't provide the full protection you would get from a laptop bag, obviously, but it does protect your laptop from scratches and it keeps all your computer bits together, while traveling. It fit my Toshiba Satellite perfectly.

I purchased it seeing the 16" size in the description and was not sure if this was meant for a 15.4". But, when you receive the package and pull the sleeve out of the box the packaging surrounding the sleeve says 15.4". I almost turned to a friend and gave it to him thinking it just might not fit my new Toshiba. I had an old sleeve that fit like a glove on my old 15.4, but wouldn't fit my new 16". This new sleeve fits the sides snugly, but I have about a one inch gap at the top when the zipper is closed. I use this gap space for just cords and cables. The pocket on the side (on the top if laying flat) are pass-through. You open both sides of the pocket (zippered) and you can put your whole arm through the opening. The pocket has enough room for my power cord, external hdd, and ext wireless mouse. Hope this review helps.

I do believe that the whole purpose of a laptop sleeve is so that the laptop inside would not slide so much. Once I received this sleeve, I immediately put my Macbook Pro in and it left a good 2"-3" space near the top. [Also, the Case Logic label sewn inside the side of the sleeve seem like it can potentially leave small scratches on the surface of the laptop].So I returned it and placed another order for a Case Logic laptop sleeve that is especially sized for the 15.4" Macbook Pro [Case Logic 15.4" Macbook Pro Shuttle]. I ordered this backpack to replace an older, heavy one. It's great!! Light as a feather and the waterproofing keeps out the snow and rain. I like the straps too-very comfortable and the waistband strap is great for carrying heavier loads. This item packs into itself great feature when storing not in use... lightweight with comfortable straps that tightly secure to your back. The folding portion that seals at the top of the bag seems a little loose to ensure the water tight seam, but I guess Ill find out soon enough.

CalPak Grand Stand Rolling Backpack

I got this for my fourth grader in October of 2010 (after another back pack only lasted her 3 weeks of school before ripping). It made it through the year only breaking at the last week of school, the bottom cracked in half, it still rolled and worked fine (it just slouched or how my daughter put it, it was drepressed) but other than that there were no other issues. I will be buying another one for this comming school year.

Bought this for my 10 year old girl who was struggling to carry a big load of books everyday and needed the wheels. It has been less than 2 months since she got it and it already is showing signs of distress. The handle is not faring well with the steps on the bus and looks like it will not make the rest of the school year. She cut herself on a surround on the wheels (I asked her why she was playing with it and she declared all the kids play with the wheels on their backpack. Again probably OK for a careful older child or adult, but just not cutting it for a 10 year old. Attractive enough and enough space for a decent but not huge load of books.

Purchased for 4thgrader back to school pack, he loves it. Fits in the traditional sized locker. Easily identifiable, has lots of compartments and space, however no padding. Not ideal for a laptop even with a sleeve since the bottom is not reinforced.

Good buy for the price and normal day to day usage. Would not recommend if student has lots of textbooks and binders.

This bag has no durability. I bought it for my son for school and it didn't even last six months. I am a bit disapointed!

The bag is made out of a high quality, durable canvas material that has definitely been tested by me over the past year. It was a good investment, the exact measure that i was looking. Many compartments and the colors are great. The only thing is that my longboard doesnt stick quite well to the hangers but I already newed that since is for skateboards. The rest is perfect.

Well,when i received the bag, it looked different from the picture given,the Electric logo being white. The material was sturdy and I received a lot of Compliments with my black Backpack. It has a lot of compartments and pockets for stuffs like my calculator. Rather big backpack for tall guys like me.

It works great and seems to be constructed very well. For what I paid for it , I can't complain. I just wish I could hold more in it. It is so full of padding that I have to cram things into it. I definitely don't have to worry about my laptop and Ipad getting damaged with all the padding ti provides. It just seems like overkill.

There is very little interior space in this backpack. From front to back, it's narrow. And the fabric is stiff, so it doesn't flex to allow more stuff to be fit inside. I was barely able to fit my quart-size baggie of liquids (as per security guidelines), a medium-size notebook pad, a Kindle, and a small purse (clutch-sized) inside. And I still had to take everything out to access what was out the bottom, because there's not enough room in the backpack for my arms with only those few items.

Also, as you can see in the photo, there are no front pockets. There are also no side pockets--no drink carrier nets. You have to unzip the thing from the top to access your wallet, keys, phone, and other small items. Very inconvenient.

That being said, the unzip-all-the-way-down-the-middle feature definitely simplifies security screening at the airport. So three stars for that.

I had a similar bag from Targus that was roomier. With the Targus bag, I was able to put my liquid baggie between the large sections of the bag. As a result, unzipping simultaneously made my laptop ready for screening and and enabled me to extract my baggie. Sadly, this bag is too small for that. A completely full quart-size baggie of liquids is a super tight squeeze in the center of the backpack.

This bag is a very thin neoprene material. I have another laptop sleeve for my 15 inch laptop, and it is much thicker (3 times as thick). I don't feel like this sleeve will adequately protect my laptop. I found another one at Walmart that is much thicker, and I recommend that one. Don't waste your money on this one.
