Follow up: almost 2 years later...

We still use this bag and it still works great. The lining between two sections is tearing away, but for the price, that isn't unreasonable. We have stuffed it full of kiddo gear. The bag itself is still holding up well and is as lightweight as you make it sooo light empty. Can't complain!

FOLLOW UP: 2 months later...

We LOVE this bag! We haven't used it daily for 2 months, but we did travel with it and have used it for outings many times. It has been great! It holds so much and seems to be quite durable. I am quite confident we will be able to use it to carry the needs of a 2 year old and an infant together. Even if I had to replace it next year, for the cost and better balance (back/neck strain reduced), it would be totally worth it.

I purchased this bag about a week ago to use as a diaper bag for travel purposes and just the random out-and-about activity. I wanted a spacious, sturdy bag that is well padded to try to reduce strain on shoulders, neck and back of our usual shoulder diaper bag. Although we haven't yet fully tested it with travel (this weekend) or weight (ditto), it really seems to measure up so far.

There are a couple small zipper compartments in great front-access places for parent keys/phone/wallet and tissues/sunblock, plus the smallest main compartment that would usually be the pencil holder area is perfectly holding our disposable changing pads, plus 6 diapers and a travel case of wipes, as well as diaper creme. I wanted that secluded from snacks and toys, but highly accessible and this does it.

The bag then has 2 full sized compartments that utilize the full height and width of the bag at the back that will serve well, I am sure, to hold a lot of books, toys, a blanket, and snacks snacks snacks!

It wasn't easy to find a bag that seemed to be real sturdy construction, maxing out dimensions, well padded, light weight!!!, and not laptop-focused. Most bags I was really liking are so centered around padding a laptop, which is just excess space we don't need to occupy.

I hope to get back out here after traveling with this to update the review, but at this point, it seems very well made and I am quite pleased with our purchase.

I got this bookbag for my daughter because she loves Vegeta and Goku. However, she is a 4th grader and has to carry a textbook from school home everyday in addition to her other notebooks and pencil box. We have tried several different ways to evenly distribute all of the stuff she has to carry within the three sections. It's been five months and I'm almost sure it won't make it until the end of the year. The bottom is starting to give way and I had to resew the straps and the areas around near the zippers twice. The zippers are also starting to give way and not zip. I think this maybe made more so for kids who have lighter things to carry on a daily basis, for that it is perfect. I would love to be directed to a more sturdy bag under the DBZ brand, considering the cost.

My 19 month old loved her brobee. But he's not practical or durable. The pocket is big enough for a cellphone or juice box. It's also thin and has already blown out at the sided. His leg has a hole too. I am mending him as I type. But I would definitely purchase another since my daughter loves to hug him.

The Brobee backpack is very small, but was purchased for a 2 year olds birthday and he LOVES it!! That is all that matters There was a hole in the pouch that is inside to make it able to hold things but was easily fixed!

Austin House Comfort Grip

Comfort Grip Luggage Handle is a wonderful invention that comes under the heading of "Why didn't I think of that first?"

This is a really excellent idea that functions to make the handle of your luggage more comfortable to grip, especially if you are carrying a heavy bag. It also makes your bag clearly visible as yours from a distance, thereby replacing all the ribbons, crocheted chains of yarn, etc. that you've used before.

Since I travel several times a year, I really appreciate this item. It is a wonderful invention that has been produced very well.

I'm surprised you don't see more of these at baggage carousels -they are a great product to identify your Costco or similar ubiquitous pullman from the crowd. We bought this set to replace an identical pair we lost on our last trip, the first loss we've had on Alaska. Since BOTH were "lost" between checking in and retrieval, we are convinced they were just stolen by handlers (but, why?). The grips had traveled the world over many trips without loss, so how could they both have disappeared without help? These come in three colors, and the orange color stands out best against our dark bags. We have them on the side assist handles rather than the top (as the top is the position where you are more likely to use the telescopic handle). The foam in the covers does make the strap more comfortable to lift, although these are not bags you would carry far anyway. The construction is durable, and the Velcro closure is very secure (and, not likely to even come undone in automated baggage sorting systems). Still, their primary value is in identifying your luggage, and they provide a good "beacon" to achieve that end. That's why we immediately ordered a new pair after discovering the loss of our old ones.

May be good for full sized luggage. I bought it to cover a messenger bag handle, but it is doesn't wrap tight enough. It gathered and made the handle uncomfortable. Used them for one day before they went into the trash.

took this bag on an adventure through Costa Rica. could not have been a better choice. protected our things during rainstorms, dried right away and packed like magic.

I just received the pack in the mail! It seems to be of pretty good materials and I think it's going to make a great pack. The actual weight is 11oz which is about 1.5 oz heavier that the EMS equivalent but a little lighter than the REI flash 22. There is silicone coating on the inside of the pack but I'm still going to use a pack cover--Maybe this will be my excuse to finally dabble in DIY cubin fiber!

The lid has an outer packet and a pocket under the lid which is kinda neat. There is also an inner pocket that looks like it's intended for a water bladder but it seems to short, wide, and low in the pack to really function this way. I think I will put a piece of cardboard in a tyvek envelope and insert it in the pocket for back support/padding and use it as a sit pad. The mesh water bottle pockets are a bit small but functional. This is probably a good thing cause it will force me to end my habit of carrying way to much water.

I packed it with gear/food for a 3 day trip and it all fits nicely and feels comfortable on my back.

I'm definitely happy with my purchase and can't wait to use it!

The backpack is great, but this company is ripping you off. Level 8 sells this, as does the Apple Store, for $100.

I was surprised to see the low ratings, until I noticed the price. This is the best case I've purchased for traveling with a laptop (in my case, a 17" macbook pro). It offers lots of protection, lay-flat zipper for airport security, lots of extra pockets and storage space. Just don't pay more than the retail price of $100. The Apple Store or manufacturer are selling them for the correct price.

First — I bought this at an Apple Store for $100 and have used it pretty much daily for almost three years. I's pretty well-made, the laptop compartment is well protected, the straps are comfortable and easy to adjust, and it is spacious and has lots of compartments (I often carry laptop, iPad, camera, various accessories, charger, etc., and on short trips have used it as my only luggage).

Fatal flaw — when overloaded its zippers (even when fully closed) allow it to simply fall open and it cost me an iPad (as in flipped out and shattered). A small number of airport-friendly bags have snaps that can prevent this from happening — but they all seem to cost a lot more than $100. The bag was overloaded when this happens, but not that overloaded.

Note that the bag does have a velcro strap to prevent the laptop from falling out, but this is a weak alternative and in any event was no help for the iPad.

It's a testament to how good this bag is aside from this that I continue to use it.

Non-fatal flaw — the plastic handle (allowing it to be carried like an attache case) is made of a very hard material and is not terribly comfortable. Mine has broken and now presents some pretty sharp edges as well.

I unfortunately have to follow up with a negative review, shortly after writing a positive one. After packing my laptop into the bag with a few other essentials the zipper on the second largest compartment started to snag. The same day one of the two zippers pulls actually broke. My bag wasn't over loaded so it was alarming, needless to say, especially since it was only day one of receiving the bag. I liked the bag so much I ignored the defect and continued living life. A few weeks later and the problem has only got worse. I now have to contact the seller and try and get a new bag or a refund. The same zipper has gotten worse and snags in two areas making it a hassle to open and close.

Incase Nylon Backpack, Black (CL55301)

First of all, I purchased the stone gray colored bag. It should be noted that the color is not actually grey, but an odd green color. Keep this in mind as you choose a color.

Second, after four months of regular use this backpack was packed back up and shipped back to the manufacturer (at my own expense). The right strap pulled right out of the stitching. I am hoping Incase can solve this issue, and that the pack I received was a fluke.

Third, this newer redesign of the Incase backpack seems to be a step down in terms of craftsmanship. The straps don't have the same level of comfort and the pack itself doesn't hold its shape as well.

I bought this bag to replace a previous Incase bag that I had for a few years and used heavily. I really liked my old one so sought out the same brand. The design changed a bit from the old one: A few less zippers. BUT, the big problem is that is simply feels cheaper. Lighter fabric, thinner padding, cheaper zipper pulls. This is not a cheap bag, but it feels cheap!! I feel guilty about returning it since i have used it for 2 weeks, but I for sure will not buy this brand again. Premium price but not premium product.

Purchased backpack from J&R middle of May for college. It has great looks, surprising capacity (due to its height), and an undeniable high quality feel.

I would suggest this backpack to everyone except for the fact that one of my shoulder straps has begun to disconnect from the base of the bag after only two months of use. The stitching has popped out and the interior foam is visible. The strap is still connected, but barely. The shoulder area of the strap is still intact. It won't be long until the base disconnects and the strap becomes non-functional, however.

I am looking to get a replacement bag from either J&R or Incase!

I have owned several Incase products in the past several years ranging from laptop sleeves to iPhone cases and even a DSLR Camera bag so when it came time for a new backpack I decided to give this one a try.

Admittedly, I am pretty hard on packs. I carry it every day and usually have it loaded down with things I use day to day at work (office environment). I feel that this pack is poorly constructed with sub-par materials.

The front pouch zipper pull came off during the first week of use. The faux fur interior attracts and holds dust and dirt. Every single time I put the pack on, the left shoulder strap pulls almost all the way out forcing you to readjust the length setting (seriously.. every time. So annoying).

I appreciated the placement of and number of pouches and pockets, especially the soft-lined stash pocket at the top. Incase suggests using this for your phone, but I found that it works best for sunglasses. I did find myself missing the typical pouches on the side to hold a bottle.

I ended up throwing this one in the top of my closet and buying the Patagonia Fuego Backpack. It has almost identical pouch configuration but with a far superior build quality plus it has somewhere to put bottles on the sides!

Outside

The Front compartment of the backpack is protetected by a very durable shield. It feels a lot like a softer, but still quite hard, cellphone case. On the outside, their are two side pockets which open out to the side of the back. They are slim, but still usable. They fit a normal plastic water bottle great, with a slight bulge visible in the shield. I would plan on using these pockets to hold my graphing calculator, one water bottle, and headphone earbuds.

The zippers all over are made of solid, lightweight, metal, accented with the alienhead logo. They all slide nice and easy. The main compartment zipper goes all away around the bag, almost 275 degrees around. The bottom has too strong but flexible grips/standy thingers.

The padding that comes into contact with your back could definitely be called orthopedic. minimal near the spine for breathability, and pillowy cushioned around the lowerback, shoulder blade, and hip areas. The straps are lack luster in terms of cushion though. They are not however uncomfortable, just a little thin.

The phone compartment in the front holds an EnV2 and Blackberry Storm snugly.

The handle at the top is quite annoying. If you lean too far forward it bumps into your neck like someone tapping you quite hard to get your attention.

First Compartment

The first compartment is protected by the plastic shield. On that same side their are ten thin compartments meant for holding CD's. Not many people carry around 10 CD's barenaked like that though, so I'm going to put a one hundred dollar bill in each of them as placeholders.The top has a keyring.

On the opposite side, there is an MP3 holder, mouse holder, three loops for writing utensils, a backpack-wide mesh compartment at the bottom, and a padded zippered chamber hanging at the top. The MP3 hole is also at the top of this compartment.

Second Compartment

The second compartment is very simple. The side closer to the shield has a space wide enough for two Asus EEpc notebooks, or five college-ruled notepads.

On the otherside of the compartment, there is a mesh pocket wide and tall enough to hold two magazines without bulging.

Main Compartment

The main compartment is HUGE! The size of the entire backpack. It has a single mesh, plastic filmed pocket, that reads: "Checkpoint Friendly". It's for frequent flyers whos bags are inspected often, it opens easily. The sides of this pocket are lined with a fleece feeling fabric.

So far I've owned about three different types and styles of laptop bags. I've gone through a Targus messenger bag, a Belkin sling backpack, and now this beautiful piece of craftsmanship and comfort. I do have to admit I was a little skeptical about this bag and because it is a little pricey. I'm glad to say this bag has lived up to all my expectations. I own a Alienware Area-51 7700 which I retired a few years ago but was impressed on just how much room I still had when I put that monster laptop inside this bag. Even though the bag isn't for the Alienware but for my new HP dv7-2185dx which is not as big as the Alienware laptop but you will definitely have a lot of room to spare. This bag comes with all the bells and whistles, many pockets for all your needs. This bag is also sturdy and well padded in all the areas to keep your baby nice and comfortable as you travel or go to school. I do agree with one of the previous reviews about the back pack smelling but its not bad and will go away with use. It smells like its been inside a plastic bag but it will go away. I did look at a lot of different sized bags that would accommodate 17.3" sized laptops and this one is the only one that had the look and style I was looking for. All the other bags looked cheesy in comparison. After packing this laptop with my laptop, external drives, mouse, power cable, pens, pencils, sunglasses, and sketch pad I still had room enough to put a couple of books inside the bag. If you're looking for an awesome bag and are willing to spend a little more to get a little more, you should definitely buy this bag. I hope this helps!

This backpack has space for two laptops and provides plenty of cushion. It includes a barrier to prevent cell phones or other wireless devices from transmissions, which can be a plus in certain situations. It also works well with the HP HDX18 laptops. There are better deals out there if you have a smaller laptop, but for larger laptops, I'd say this is the way to go. It's not excessively large or bulky, which is a plus. Some people might be worried about the gaming logo attracting attention at airports, etc. That might be the main drawback.

My husband and I were looking for a sturdy, backpack for his Asus Republic of Games laptop, 17.3 inch. The Asus RofG computer is fantastic but big, so not all backpacks would do. First, the Asus RofG fits! Second, the material is sturdy and well made. Good compartment storage inside and cool appearance on the outside. It holds a lot. The only suggestion my husband has for the manufacturer is to create some kind of strap that can clip across the chest to help pull weight off of his back. I think we will try to modify the pack and add a strap of our own to the front.

Military MOLLE Large Transport Backpack

Wasn't sure what to expect as I hadn't heard of the company or supplier before and the bag seemed to be very similar in look to another product offered on amazon made by Rothco. The Rothco bags seem to be of decent quality according to reviews, but this one, made by Fox, really impressed me. I was expecting a medium quality backpack for 60 bucks, but this bag surpasses others costing 3x as much.

MOLLE compatible, hydration bladder compatible, 3 separate "self-healing zipper" compartments, several compression straps, sleeping mat/bag straps, contoured shoulder straps, several D-ring attachments, thick canvas construction and a rugged heavy nylon/rubber bottom that will last forever. You won't be disappointed with this bag. Great for camping, hiking or just the daily commute to work or school. Holds a laptop well, though there's no small compartments or pockets for pens, MP3 players or phones, but maybe you can find a MOLLE attachment for that ;-)

I picked up the coyote color one, which is not represented accurately here as it looks very green in the picture. In reality it is a desert khaki color, nearly identical to standard military issue. Beautiful bag. Worth every penny.

First, about myself. I have spent a lot of time outdoors covering a lot of ground as a civilian. Also, I spent several years humping loads while in Special Forces. I've moved over mountains and plains, thru jungles and woods. I know something about this kind of equipment.

The Military MOLLE Large Transport Backpack appears well constructed. Mine is made by Fox and seems to be a good bag for what it is, but one thing IT IS NOT, a "Large Transport Backpack". It is better described as a day bag than a transport bag. Read the description carefully for the measurements. I missed them (it was late, I was tired and in a hurry) and judged the bag by the words "large" and "transport". I was further misled by some of the reviewers' comments that the bag was large. It's a day bag. A nice day bag and useful to me, but not large. Furthermore, it is suitable only for smaller people. The shoulder straps are designed for a smaller man, say medium build and 5'6" or shorter. For anyone bigger, you cannot distribute the weight of the load to the hips. Think of this bag as a sturdy book bag for high school and you will probably have a good idea of it's size and functionality. It's a nice bag, but if you are looking for a "large transport backpack", keep looking.

First of all, It took around 3-4 days to get here. Its really cool, has nice look with lots of space. Although there is 2 things I do not like about it. Its the rubberized bottom and the foam back padding mainly because it gets scratched and it will rip easily.. Im 5'9 and it fits me well didnt have to adjust it, fitted me well the way it came. For this being my first military backpack i rate it a 4.

So after 2 times of using this backpack for SCHOOL ONLY not abusing it during anything ex: paintball, airsoft,hiking,hunting. AFTER using it 2 times ONLY the bottom of the backpack has started to peal off come off therefore i will return this item and vote it 3 stars.

These packs are strong and do exactly what they're supposed to do. They hold quite a lot, as advertised, but when full you'll find the belts a little short. The only other thing I can gripe about is the lack of drain holes; fortunately these are built with adequate rain flaps over the zippers and if I really think I'll need drain holes I can easily install them without any trouble. Again, despite my crabbing, these are excellent packs and well worth the price.

I bought this backpack when the description said "Rothco Black Large Transport Pack". It was not a Rothco pack, but instead is made by Fox Tactical. The pack is made from heavy nylon and has lots of straps, probably too many to be honest, but they can easily be removed. I used it exclusively for carrying textbooks at school. This backpack only lasted one semester, however, before a seam separated on the top between the zippers. Very disappointing, especially considering the price. Spend a little more and get a backpack that lasts if you are actually going to use it for carrying things.

My girlfriend got the tablet as an early Christmas present, so I bought her this sleeve. Now the inside of the sleeve is heavily padded, and the outside is a nice Suede feel. Overall good case but great protection just to much money for foam and cloth

High Sierra Stretch Backpack

I used my newly received backpack today and I absolutely love it! It's very sleek looking (I got the black/grey one) and it even has a special pocket for your ipod that keeps the zipper from closing all the way so your headphones cord doesn't get mangled. It has so much space and many "hidden" pockets so it doesn't look too baggy from the outside which was one of my requirements when looking for a new backpack to use. It also has a seperate holder for a laptop that keeps the computer from falling all over the place. The straps are comfy and the backside of the backpack is breathable which I love since I ride my bike and sometimes my back gets to hot/sweaty with other backpacks. All in all, I completely recommend this to anyone who wants a serious yet sleek backpack.

I have used this for nearly a year. I pack it daily with a lunch bag, thermos of coffee, mp3 player, etc. for work. It is great and is quite comfortable.

While not quite as Stretchy as Expected, it can stretch a fair bit. It's durable, strong, and comfortable on the shoulders. It can hold a full load of books and accessories without a problem for a reasonable price. Overall? Completely worth it.

First off, the shipping on this bag is AMAZING. I ordered the Black/Charcoal backpack yesterday and got it today!

Also, pretty much everything about the bag seems just perfect. It is a good size, it is spacious, sturdy, and looks great! It is everything I have been looking for except...

The only big drawback, which may even be so annoying as to cause me to return the bag, is that it came with a huge reflective strip right down the middle of the front mesh pocket. This strip is NOT pictured on the backpack for this color, and most of the other colors! I really wish it had been mentioned in the product details, and ESPECIALLY pictured on all the backpacks because it is pretty unsightly. Most importantly, when it was mailed it was folded because the bag was folded, and because it is made of rubber/plastic material, it will not unfold/lay flat.

I wonder if there is a way to request a bag without the strip (if they come without it at all) because I would absolutely love the bag if not for this. Maybe it won't bother most other people if it comes on their bag, but it is good to be aware of it ahead of time.

Dakine 25-Litre Campus Pack

This Backpack is nice. It's very comfortable and has plenty of room, pockets, and different areas to keep my things organized.

I am satisified with my purchase. There isn't that annoying slacking in the bottom like the typical budget or Jansport brand most people seem to have. It is a bit narrow if you need to carry more than a couple books and a laptop, but it does hold a 15.6" laptop. Just barely, but it does fit. I was a bit hesitant about it for that reason, but I think I'll keep it. I didn't want anything large since I like to have more compact things if I'm carrying them around. I don't think I'll ever use the glasses pocket, or the insulated front pocket for what they're used for, but I like the style and being able to put a compact umbrella in the side pocket and it being barely noticeable. I don't agree with some reviews about the limited space to hold pens/pencils, I have no issue with that and carrying several of both. The only downfall I will give is that it barely would hold a couple of 1" binders and my laptop. But I don't need any more and with my classes, it's rare you will need to carry one around anyways since a lot is online anyways.

Was the perfect purchase for my son. This backpack was more than large enough and very durable. Came right on time.

My 9-year old son bought this backpack with his own money. He absolutely loves it -but after only a month or so of use, one of the zippers came loose from its track, and then a week later the other zipper came loose as well. We managed to fix one of the zippers and it held for exactly 3 days before detaching again. If you're looking for a cute, licensed backpack, this is fine, but don't expect it to be durable or last the school year.

Actually she packs the laptop, power supply, and Verizon MyFi all in the bag without a problem though it does stretch out a bit. Good handle and optional shoulder strap (which she doesn't use). Since she is a realtor and always on the go, it s used daily and has been standing up pretty well. This has been a solid purchase.

I bought 2 of these backpacks. One for each of my daughters. They love these swim bags! My daughters are 8 and 10 and can fill these backpacks up and still comfortably handle the packs due to great design and padded back and straps. They can put 3 towels, change of clothes, cap, googles and snacks for meets. A typical practice includes their boots, winter coat, clothes, towel, suit, water bottle, cap and googles. I workout and shower at my fitness club 3-5x a week, all season long. This is a great backpack for swim team. There are separate compartments to keep wet stuff away from dry stuff. My girls can fit all their suits, clothes, towels, and swim meet necessities in this bag and everything stays dry, even on the wet deck.

This bag is huge. I am a rather large man, and I can fit my swim trunks, beach-sized towel, workout clothes, and my shower items in the interior pockets. Once I'm done with my workout, the "wet pocket" can hold my trunks and towel and I still have enough room in the other pockets to fit my dry workout clothes and my hygiene items. The straps on the outside are very sturdy and actually adjust large enought fit my shoulders comfortably.

I was pleased with the number of smaller outter pockets, but a couple of them are just too small. The other thing I was disapointed in is that the acutal color of the bag (red) isn't as dark a red as displayed on the computer.

Well made large do-all. I use it for my daily gym bag, carrying items home after shopping nearby on my bike. Will bend and fold easy for air travel. I would have liked some smaller zipped pockets available. Also the zippers work in the opposite way one would expect. You must zip down to close, and up to open on the side pockets. The front 180 degree opening allow things to fall out of the large pocket rendering it basically useless. A straight across the top zipper would work better. Waterproof material. Great strong dual front straps allow for carrying heavy loads with comfort.

BUILT Cargo Travel Organizer

Ok, so I got this today and while opening the box I was thinking about all the junk I could fit in it. About 2 minutes later my 9 year old daughter stole it from me and declared that it would be "perfect" for her Nintendo DS, games, charger, and extra stylus'!!! She put all her stuff in it and I was surprised how great the fit was. She was kind enough to let me borrow it for a minute to see how I liked it. It fits everything I'll need to take on our upcoming vacation (phone and ipod chargers, usb cords, etc.) Perhaps the never ending search for the perfect game carrying case has finally ended. The only problem now is I have to order another one and wait for it to get here! At least I got a "thanks, mom" out of it, lol.

While I found the pockets awkward, I still enjoyed being able to store my ipod, headphones, id/money, etc. in one place. During my flight I only had to grab one thing from my carry on and had everything I needed. Also easy to just zip up without have put everything back into it's place when other passengers need to get up. Very glad I purchased this for my last trip.

This Built case is not my first one, but this color "Micro Dot" is. I have always like built, the title says it all "It is Built to last". The case however was not to my liking with the four slits in it they call pockets for holding things. They stretch of course, but it is ackward to put things in the pockets because there is no way to really close the pockets just the outside zipper, and when you oopen it you have to be a little careful or your things will end up on the ground.
