Osprey Packs Flare Daypack

I have been buying Osprey packs for over 15 years. Currently, I have about 6. I have never had an issue, EVER. They go into the washing machine and come out like new. From a hydration pack to a 65 liter Atmos, and the Halo, Flare, Focus, and Quantum in between. I love them all.

The Flare is perfect as a day bag. Recently, I packed it with a pair of sneakers an extra coat and my iPad w/chargers and headphones, and had room for snacks, papers, gloves and a knit hat, with room to spare.

My only complaint is that they don't wear out, so I can't justify buying more!

I have tried North Face and the external mesh pocket ripped, as well as cheaper bags that don't hold up.

I cannot say more about the quality of Osprey bags. They are very comfortable with many ways to adjust the fit. Check Osprey's website for sizing. If you don't like your purchase, I'll take it!

This backpack has taken a lot of abuse over the past couple of months. I load my backpack far beyond normal and is never mollycoddled. It has held up admirably. The backpack itself is pretty light, but the construction is top notch. No complaints at all.

Absolutely fantastic backpack. Amazing quality. The additional internal pockets are great for keeping your papers and books organized while on the move. Exterior pouches are perfect for the items you want to carry there: cell phone, bottle of water, etc. Zipper pull stirngs make for easy opening and closing. Multiple carrying handles allow you to get a firm grip no matter what angle you grab it from. The color is great and thankfully not as bright as it looks in the pictures. Highly recommended!!

Oakley Men's Ap Pack 3.0 Backpack

Love this bag for a daily carry. I get snickers all the time as my friends think I have a parachute stuffed in there, but for practical purposes, the bag carries what I need, keeps it organized, and looks great. I've had this pack for almost a year and durability doesn't seem like it will ever been an issue. Still looks brand new, still feels as tough as the day I got it. The shoulder straps have broken in to the point that they are very comfortable but still retain the durable feel that they had when I got the pack.

The only request I would have for the designers on this bag would be some straps/loops to attach some things to the exterior of the bag. Laptop compartment fits a 15 inch pc perfectly. Not sure you could squeeze a 17 inch in there.

This pack looks great in images, but for the price it is severely lacking. I recently got it so I can't speak to durability over time, but materials seem so-so. What good is a metal handle if connected by 2 thin strips of nylon? Bag material is okay, but not heavy in any way for padding or elements. The metal clasps are a joke, large springs open to elements/dirt etc. and easily snaggable. The shoulder strap clasps are practically decorative and do not detach the straps which are sewn like 99% of every other bp.

17" laptop sticks up almost 2" past padding so any impact to that upper portion merely has a single layer of material without padding. Padding in laptop compartment isn't great, but to be fair, almost no pack I've found does. If you fill the upper flap areas with any thing rigid you will likely get 'rubbing' on the laptop portion exposed internally.

The real disappointment is the lack of small compartments within the larger ones. Not a pen, 1" or 2" elastic loop or pocket anywhere, so pens, keys, cables, adapters filter to the bottom of whichever larger section they are in. The bottom back does have a key clap, but it is plastic and practically broke just in my finger squeeze. Particularly the largest area just outside the laptop, just stupid not to have any pockets.

This is a really expensive gym clothes backpack. Probably good for day pack for skiing, day at the beach, but in no way is a true utility pack... Completely a 'poser' pack.

For best 17" laptop, lots of compartments, and much sturdier material, stick to the much cheaper, if not as sheik looking, Swissgear IBex backpack.

I looked and compared all backpacks and I found the Oakley to be the best . But for $150 there could be more besides the "name" . Don't get me wrong I love it but I would of ratcheted spent extra $20 on couple other ones I was looking at. When you spend way over $100 on a backpack, you expect it to be PERFECT in every way. Unfortunately, Oakley's quality control is not 'quality' enough for me. I purchased this backpack directly from Oakley's website, and when checking all of the pockets/features that the zipper on the front main pocket was not working properly. After finally getting the zipper to open fully (which took about 3 minutes), I could see lots of fraying of fabric, where the zipper was getting stuck. It seems that the China factory worker found this zipper sticking on the extra fabric inside the pocket, and instead of trimming that extra fabric off, or pulling the item off the assembly table (since it is defective), they left it as-is. Now I have to try and remedy this problem by trimming the extra fabric. I don't think it'll work, since it seems to be a design defect in how the front fabric is sewn together and where they install the zipper.

I carry a MacBook Pro 15" in it, fits well, and the shoulder strap makes it very comfortable to carry even though the laptop itself is heavy. The bag itself looks very sleek.

Size-wise, think of it as a fitted skinny quality laptop sleeve case with handles and a shoulder strap. It can't carry much more than a laptop, the power cord, and a 20-page letter-size document. There are 2 side pockets, but too small to put a Calculus textbook unless no laptop in there. One of the side pockets also includes a slot for a smart phone (4.5 inch or smaller). As another review said, it does not have lots of small pockets to organize small stuffs, such as cosmetics, a wallet, keys and you name it.

The only thing I am not sure is the "decorated tag with mirror" from the product description. I can't find this mirror in the package. If it's an Anna Sui decorated tag with mirror, I sure want it!

Overall, it's a lovely fitted lightweight quality laptop bag for everyday use, but it can't carry lots of documents.

Actually, this backpack is really nice. As far as I can say (without ever having used it), the material is nice and it looks like it will survive over time (like I said, I never used it, so I can't say, if in reality, that is true).

Besides the look and the material, I liked both, the backpack is really tall. So not really made for short people. Also it is rather thin, so if I really want to use the complete room, I would have to stack the stuff on top of each other...which would annoy me, since I would have to dig for the stuff I put in first. Additional to that already thin backpack, all "outside" pockets actually take the room inside the backpack. So if you put something in the cooler pocket, you already used space of the main department. Same goes for the department on the back of the backpack. I find that really unhandy since it already has not that much space, unless you like stacking.

So overall, it looks like it could be a nice backpack, but since I am rather short and not a fan of stacking stuff in my backpack, it was not for me.

The backpack came with a very strong smell. Very chemically and not exactly what I wanted to put on my son's back.. We aired it out for a a few days and that seemed to help. My son loves it though!

Travelpro Crew 8 22 Inch Expandable Rollaboard Suiter

I'm an airline pilot and have been using 22" Travelpro Rollaboards for the past 15 years. Recently the handle on my Crew 5 broke. Coincidentally my bag arrived broken after checking it on a recent trip. I have found that my Travelpro bags last indefinitely and look like new if I keep them in my control as carry-on bags but it only takes a few times as checked baggage to ruin them.

So I decided to order the Crew 8 since my handle was broken on the Crew 5 and I was awaiting a replacement handle. Every Travelpro bag I've upgraded to has been a continual process of improvement with the new bag being nicer than the previous in layout and features. Unfortunately this was not the case with the Crew 8. I am a professional traveler and pack very efficiently into a 22' bag. I can go on a 10 day trip with the contents, no problem. The Crew 8 has only 2 external zippered compartments while the Crew 5 had 4. If you like to have access to some items without having to open the bag and rifle through the contents then the Crew 8 is a downgrade from the Crew 5. The Crew 8 looks good from the outside but the inside is very basic. It's almost as if Travelpro took an off-the-shelf bag available from China and put their badge on it. I basically pack a similar version of the same contents into my bag for each trip. I tried to get the same contents I routinely pack into my Crew 5 into the Crew 8 and it was very difficult. There is no carrier for toiletries and other misc. items like in the Crew 5. There is no compartment on the inside of the lid (just a simple zippered net) where I would put t-shirts, socks, pants, etc. Funny thing is, after I had the Crew 8 packed it looked bloated and stuffed compared to having the same items in the Crew 5. The Crew 5 was a well thought out, functional bag for the professional traveler. The Crew 8 in my opinion is a bag to take when you can pack lightly for a long weekend at best.

A few years back, Travelpro split its luggage lines into two series: The "CrewX" series is designed to be pretty and marketed to consumers, while the "FlightCrewX" is designed to be rugged and is marketed directly to pilots and crew. The "Crew8" series is the current version marketed to consumers and the "FlightCrew4" is the current version that is marketed to pilots and crew.

I bought this bag before I came to this realization, and have been disappointed ever since. I hate the design of this bag. While it is light, it is much too flimsy to any kind of heavy duty use. Travelpro included a relatively cheap, but pretty design on the attachment strap and the short handle, both of which are sure to break with significant use. They've also rotated the axis of the long handle so as to make it harder to slide an extra bag over them. The front pockets are designed for appearance instead of utility, and so the zippers have a funny looking "U" shape and the pockets actually overlap, while being too thin to really hold anything. The nylon is a thin weave designed to have a nice "shine" instead of being resistant to damage.

I later purchased a Travelpro FlightCrew4 22" bag from an online store that caters to pilots and flight crew. What a bag! Nice sturdy ABS frame, real inline skating wheels, heavy duty handles with the axis in the correct direction, well-laid out pockets, and heavy duty nylon -and $40 cheaper! The only problem is that it is a bit larger than Travelpro claims. So, now I use the 20" instead.

I also own a Kirkland 22" suiter (available only at Costco), which is better than this one and only $99.00.

So, do yourself a favor: Skip anything in the Crew8 series (or any of Travelpro's consumer lines) and buy the FlightCrew4 from an online retailer or get the 22" Kirkland at Costco.

I am a frequent traveler and carry-on whenever possible. My go-to bag was a 24" Victorinox. Like all of my Victorinox bags, this failed on my last trip leaving with the need to replace it on short notice. I went online and read reviews on many bags and Travelpro kept coming up as a good affordable option. I currently have a large Travelpro bag and I'm happy with it so I figured I would give the smaller version a try so i purchased on my Prime account with overnight delivery. The bag arrived as advertised and the quality was better than I could imagine.

My first observation was that this 22" bag was expandable so I could "sneak" a couple extra days worth of clothes into an overhead approved bag. I did so on my first trip out. I was amazed that the bag still fit into the overhead wheels first. As any traveler knows, this makes finding a space for your bag much easier than.

Another observations was the substantial feel of the handle. This was the part on my Victorinox that failed so it was important to me that the handle be able to support the weight of my backpack resting up against it. The bag also rolled freely over carpet, tile and asphalt. It was very easy to move around. And it stood straight even when expanded.

I have to say that one of my favorite surprises is the water bottle holder. This simple zip-out compartment easily folds a standard 16 to 24 ounce water bottle making it accessible when you need it. A great feature for sure!

All in all I'd have to say that I[m thrilled with the bag. I think I paid under $140 delivered. I stopped into Dillards the other day and teh same bag there was $400. Amazon came through yet again!

The first time I attempted to use this luggage was on 1-27-2011 on Continental Airlines.

While the advertised size is the correct dimensions of the main frame of the bag including a advertised width of 9 inches, the true width of the bag even with nothing in the front pockets and the main bag NOT expanded is slightly over 10 1/2 inches. It was the width of the bag that kept it from fitting into the metal frame provided by Continental airlines that only allows a 9 inch width. At the boarding area I was required to check the bag at the time of boarding. I had to remove my laptop and other fragile items to put in a tiny tote which was the only other thing I had with me for this trip.

The large zipper pocket on the front of the bag is designed to hold a laptop computer. My laptop did fit in the pocket while the bag was laying on a flat surface for the purpose of packing. Upon removing the laptop at airport security screening, the zipper on the front pocket separated when opening, and I could not zip the pocket closed.

This is the first time I have used this bag for travel, and it was a nightmare. First it is not the advertised size, so I had to check it, rather than being able to carry it on the plane. The items packed in the bag were considered safe for carry on, but not for normal handling of luggage.

The fact the zipper did not function properly on the very first use, was a serious issue as well.

For the cost and the reputation of this luggage, I am a very unsatisfied customer.

I bought it through Altman Luggage via Amazon. Total price was $159 including shipping. The case took exactly one week from the point I ordered through Amazon to when it arrived on my doorstep.

The case is much lighter than my generic brand 22inch roller I got from my dad many years ago. While the small booklet states that the case will not meet airline carry-on regulations when expanded, I have a feeling that it will fit in most non-regional overhead bins even when expanded.

The biggest issue I have is that the 22inch does not have inner mesh pockets inside the larger outer pocket, as the marketing photos on some websites show. (The pockets I'm talking about are not the two mesh pockets that are in the main compartment of the case). Many luggage sellers, including Amazon, show the same marketing photo for the 20inch and the 22inch models, where the outer pocket is opened and there are mesh pockets in there that hold an iPhone, pens, wallet, etc as well as a laptop sleeve. My 22inch does not have any of these pockets and sleeves. My cell phone, keys, wallets, and tickets will all be at the bottom of a fairly deep pocket, and not organized as in the photos. The lack of these small compartments to hold such items led me to take two stars off from my review. (Even $50 bags sold at Walmart have them)

Both the wheels and the handles seem fine, though I'm not sure how durable the plastic handle will be if I ever need to pick up the case at the handle when the case is packed full.

Overall, I'm happy with the case, but am disappointed by the misleading marketing photos.

Monster High Umbrella

Just FYI to all, $24.99 is wayyyy overpriced for this umbrella. You can get it from Toys R' Us for $9.99 and yes it is the same exact umbrella.

Item came in padded envelope but was luckily intact. Umbrella is from the Monster High theme which my younger daughters like very much. It is a functional umbrella that is about 30% smaller than a regular-sized umbrella that best fits/surrounds a small 6-8 YO child. The handle is made of a heavy type of painted plastic/wood material and is glued to the main umbrella shaft. The umbrella does not have a locking mechanism once extended/opened and uses a "tension"-type of lock where once it is opened, you extend the umbrella fully opened and it holds in place. My daughters have used it for school on rainy days, but is really suitable for "light" rainy days. This item is meant for younger kids and can withstand light/mild rain. If it is very windy with harder rain, I send my kids to school with more durable umbrellas. Otherwise, my kids like the novelty of this themed item and it does protect against light rain/low wind, but that is really all it probably can withstand. It is more of a "show" item but does cover them up. Overall, we are happy with the purchase.

OGIO Metro Pack Backpack and Portable Notebook Case

I was given this backpack when I began college. I graduate in a week and after 4 years, it is still in great shape. I ride my bike everywhere I go and I need a backpack that offers great back support and many compartments. This Ogio is very comfortable even with many books and a lap top in it. Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Mud Box

I bought this product to put my Teva Men's Churn Performance Water Shoes in after they're wet, to avoid getting anything else wet and/or muddy as the case may be. The Mud Box works well for this function, and when zipped closed it holds the moisture inside. It is lined with a "tough hydro-tech TPU material" to keep water and mud inside and resist it leaking through, and the top has a "link-seal mesh." Essentially the top is plastic on the inside and netting on the outside. I don't know what purpose the outside netting serves, but regardless the Mud Box keeps water and mud inside of it. The handle on top makes it easy to grab and carry, making it simple for me to carry my shoes without having to hold them separately. For comparison purposes, I have found that the small Mud Box is exactly the right length and width for my size 13 water shoes to be packed comfortably in it. They are not loose and bouncing around and they are not hard to put in. There is about a 1.5-inch depth left with the shoes in it. If you are using this for your clothes or gear then that should give you an idea of the capacity of it. Because the Mud Box is lightweight, it essentially weighs as much as what you put in it as you carry it around. Overall if you need an easy-to-carry container that won't leak for your wet, muddy, or dirty clothes or gear when you're in the field, the Eagle Creek Pack-It Mud Box is a good item to try out. Please check the photo I submitted for an even better idea of what the Mud Box is like.

I traveled to a family reunion with an elderly relative. Had packed my mud box to store my shoes in my pack. My relative had an episode of incontinence, and had brought a baggie for underwear, but not for the set of clothes that got wet. I'm really happy with this backpack. I received it a few days ago and I like the quality of this backpack. It has lots of pockets to put all my books and equipment for my computer and school work. I don't use a laptop but I do carry lots of cables and audio equipment with me. I got mine in a nice navy blue color and the quality of the stitching on mine is good. I've read review on another site that state there's a quality control issue with some of their backpacks, but mine is good and if there's any issues I'll post an update. The zippers are functional and dont feel bad at all. The smaller pouches on the back have pockets on them and inside of them, while the main compartment and the side pouch are, each, only a single compartment. The straps and area that covers your back is padded and feels decent. Very good and large backpack for what it cost. Just be sure, as with any product, to check the quality of the one you get. No problems so far.

Overall, for $25 you can't beat this backpack and I love mine. Lets me get my work done and carry everything I need for my daily tasks. I'm glad I purchased this backpack cause the prices other brands want are ridiculous. I'm very satisfied.

My daughter needed a large backpack since she has to carry so many books home. This bag is large but without a lot of extra weight. Plus, lots of pockets!

Sherpani Milli Small Cross Body Bag

Love these bags! I have an older one, about 4 years, and was expecting a new color of the same. A few changes to this model from "years past";

Previous models had plastic clips for adjusting strap length, this one has nickel colored clips in a matte/satin finish. Nice!

My previous model has a free swinging little "pouch" on the inside for little items, this one has a fixed pocket with a zipper, the entire length of the inside.

The older version had a u-shaped zipper that entirely sealed the center compartment under the flap, this one has a shorter straight zipper that floats and is slightly open (1/8 to 1/4") at each end allowing better opening. I wasn't thrilled, but it's not a deal breaker.

The older version I could barely get an iPhone sized phone in the outer phone pocket, this one has a wider pocket and easier access as a result.

The older version had no piping or framing, all the new improvements allow for the bag to stand up better when placed on the floor, instead of slouching like a sack.

The older version had symmetrical strap connection points, this new model has them slightly offset so that it doesn't twist or slide as you walk. But not offset so far it doesn't sit well as a shoulder bag when needed. It sits very nicely.

As far as capacity, I've always loved the amount these bags can hold for everyday. Mine currently is/can hold:

So, for me, that's plenty. For others I'm sure it's not enough. Obviously, in the warmer months I don't carry the gloves and I don't always carry the book, but that gives me room to carry a point and shoot camera, add a few small things while out running errands, so I don't need another bag, etc.

As for the strap, I haven't measured it, but it's plenty long. I'm 5'-7" and I can make it so long it's well into my thigh level. Obviously not where I put it, but still, and it doubles up cleverly to also sit nicely as a shoulder bag when you don't want to cross body carry it.

All in all, I've yet to found anything that replaces this line by Sherpani. And in the past, I've had questions about their products and their customer service is second to none. I would recommend this bag AND this brand to anyone.

I bought this for my wife and her comments are: "Great purse for traveling! Very well made with wonderful details lots of hidden pockets! It is actually bigger that it appears. I fit my wallet and my Kindle into it without a problem. If I had one regret, it would be to have ordered it in dark brown a more neutral color that would go with more things...but the apple green color is very festive and quite easy to wipe clean!"

Good bag because it has a zip closer for safety, easy to clean, not deep inside so it's hard to find things in your bag but yet it has plenty of room for wallet etc.

I like the zip pockets at the front and under the opening, good for storing car keys or mobile.

The Milli bag is just perfect. It holds tons -wallet, check book, make up, phones. In a pinch I also fit a regular Nalgene bottle into it -sideways. So don't hold off because others say it is too small. It's been great for me.

I bought this bag for a trip as I wanted something flexible, light weight, large enough to hold what I needed but small enough to not get in my way as I was also carrying a camera bag. I love it. My only disappointment is that I can't get a standard small water bottle into the side pocket. It would work if the band on the side pocket would stretch just a bit more.

I bought this bag to throw my purse contents in when my husband and I go to Chicago. I was looking for something inexpensive but durable and needed something lightweight. This is perfect. It is not full sized and would actually be nice for a teenager (I'll probably donate it to my grand-daughter who is 10) but its a good bag for the money.

I really love this bag. I have room for everything i need: tablet, phone, chargers, keys,mp3. I even managed to put a pair of foldable headphones in it and i bought a foldable water bottle called Platypus thats just perfect for this kind of bag. My only gripe is the color options, i had to settle for love letter black because they didnt have just a normal black so now i got this bag with a bunch of teeny-bopperish scribble scrabble all over it. Im 25, a lil too old for that but i couldnt find the black i really wanted so oh well. It still a really nice bag overall.
