I love this sleeve for three reasons:

1) multiple pouches having more than one compartment helps to keep my things organized as well as convenient. I don't have to root around inside of a pouch or be extremely careful pulling things out. I can throw my mouse and keyboard in one pouch, and battery and tablet in another.

2) unbelievably accommodating I have NEVER had such a stretchy, yet strong tablet/laptop sleeve. I can jam as much stuff into this thing as I want, and it handles it like a champ. It must be made from scuba neoprene or something, because I've been so incredibly rough on this thing, and it still looks brand new.

3) well-padded holding this in your hands, you feel confident about the protection of its contents. I've dropped my tablet multiple times while it's been inside this sleeve, and not a penny worth of damage has resulted. I feel very assured of my digital treasures when they are stowed inside this sleeve.

My only gripe is that the zipper is sometimes finicky, but overall works well most of the time.

Nelson-Rigg CTB-350 RiggPak Black Dayrunner Luggage/Seat Bag

I recently purchased this item and had to return it because in spite of the claims that it was fully adjustable, it would not fit my motorcycle. The seller refused to pay return postage, and then charged an additional 20% restocking fee. It cost me over $30 and a lot of hassle just to be back where I started. I can understand maybe one or the other, but "restocking" in addition to return postage is excessive. I will not be shopping with them again and honestly question whether I will continue to shop online.

I bought this bag as an "around town" bag insead of carrying my CTB-950 King Tourer. This bag is nearly as big is the CTB-950! The top loading feature is really nice and it has an enourmous amount of space. I will use it a while and then update my input as I get more experience with it

Update I used this bag for about 6 months and one of the side pocket zippers separated! I contacted Nelson Rigg and they gave me a return authorization. I just dont want to spend the time packing it up and then be without it while they are repairing or replacing it.

I purchased this tail bag after lusting after my buddies all summer long. Nelson -Rigg is a great quality product line and the CTB-350 is no exception.

I personally like the stiffeners in the sides that let it keep its shape even when nothing is packed inside.

It's an excellent value, the velco straps used to fasten it to the backrest/sissy bar are massive enough to hold it in place no matter how much stuff is packed into it, and it comes with even more tie-downs AND a rain cover!!

I owned one of these bags for a couple years. It worked fine until recently. While using the bag it became detached from my bike, damaging a valuable item inside. When I wrote the company about this issue, and mentioned that I need to contact the Better Business Bureau simply for consumer advice, they immediately became defensive. The company expressed no real symptathy, or concern, for the damaged item, they only cared about covering their own interests in the matter of the item. I LOVE this bag. I am buying a second one for when I wear this one out! It holds it all. Currently mine is holding, a SLR Camera, 2 lenses, 2 notebooks 1 full size, a Kindle (thank you Amazon), 2 pairs of sunglasses, my make up, my wallet and still has planty of room for a cat (which put herself in there). The bag is very stylish and perfect for the minimalist. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there are three internal pockets for sorting gear. Two medium sized pockets, and one large one. The D-rings on the outside are perfect for strapping extra gear. The strap on the top of the bag is perfect for carrying the bag when its not on your shoulders. The disadvantages of this bag are the cumbersome buckles that take a while to open/close. My biggest issue with this bag is that there is no internal structure or frame. If the bag is empty, its very limp.

I ordered this rucksack after previewing at least ten others. I was really worried about buying one that was strong enough to hold books, a computer, extra shoes, or anything else I need. This backpack is very compact in size, although it has three major compartments, one of them is for laptop.

The major CONS are the belt buckles and the upper ligaments of the belts.

The buckles are not working so well, they often got stuck once I totally release them. The upper ligaments seem a little too slim to handle much weight.

I've been buying this backpack for a few years now. I think this is my third one. For the money you can't go wrong. I especially like how light it is. This really makes a difference to me. My Wenger backpack is larger, but even empty it's quite heavy and I only use it if I really need more space. If you commute by bike or on foot this Lenovo backpack should be a good choice. When I spend the extra money for an ultralight laptop, I don't like to then carry it around in a heavy backpack. Every ounce matters when you add in all the other junk needed for daily travels. The only drawback is the top handle built into the shoulder straps. It's great for grabbing the backpack off the floor or car seat, but it is a little annoying rubbing on the back of my neck as I bike. I've never had a problem with straps ripping off. After heavy use and bike commuting one year I did manage to rip some seams on the secondary compartment. The net on the outside is also a feature I use quite often and appreciate. I can roll up a raincoat or windbreaker and stash it there even if it's wet.

I have had 5 of these bags and I absolutely love them. The first one I got was years ago and I finally had to retire it completely because I snagged it and ripped it beyond repair. But it lasted about 5-6 years with everyday use. I'm outside all day everyday and it was great in the heat, the rain, the snow. You name it, it handled it! I bought this bag to use on a vacation where I would be on foot for a few days in downtown Vancouver BC. The materials make it lightweight, basically waterproof and very well made. I could see this bag lasting a very long time.

The bag is compact enough to easily set next to you when eating lunch and since it is essentially made of rubber it is very easy to clean.

I was able to comfortably store a camera, my Nexus 7 tablet, cell phone, a bottle of water and still had space for small purchases made throughout the day. It has a large front flap on the front and I've had bags where that annoyed me in the past but it didn't bother me here. I barely noticed it it was very easy to get in the bag, grab my camera, snap a few photos, and toss it back in.

The strap is very comfortable on your shoulder as well that fact that is was made from a recycled seat belt strap probably has something to do with that!

I liked the bag so much that I now use it everyday at work and would gladly purchase other products from Alchemy Goods again.

2. double handles on the top of the bag great for grabbing and go.

4. Bag opens very wide, but still held together with out accidentally losing items.

5. Semi rigid structure: Stands alone but able to be squished with out destroying the bag.

Cons:

1. This exterior material looks very prone to rip.

2. The lime one has dark grey interior, making it possibly hard to find things.

3. Too few interior pockets for organization. It has 2 bottle pockets and one large mesh pocket.

There is way more room than you think, it is very comfortable to wear, and having two hands free is the best part.

JanSport Adrenaline Series Kilowatt Backpack

The backpack does hold just about all you can imagine packing for school. The straps are comfortable and don't rub my shoulders like my previous bag did. However, almost immediately some of the stitching on the front came loose, and the straps make a faint squeaking noise if you walk fast with a heavy load. You can load it full of heavy items, but as all backpacks do it will hurt your back if you carry too much. Overall, I'd recommend this backpack for anyone needing to carry a heavy load for shorter distances.

Beautiful bag with many compartments. Stiking color contast. As all Jansport bags, very well made. Worth every penny.

This is a sturdy backpack and good for the price. I've always thought JanSport had the best backpacks and this one doesn't disappoint. I wanted something attractive that wasn't too flashy. I'm a law student and I carry around ridiculously heavy books, so in addition I needed something sturdy. This backpack does not disappoint. It holds up very well.

It has two main zipper parts. The first one is the "main large one," where I put all of my books. The second one is smaller, and has a pocket to put your cell phone as well as another place to put pencils or anything else. I usually also put my lunch in this part, or something smaller than a regular textbook or notebook.

There is also a very small little pocket at the top near the top handle. It also zips up and I use this to put my car keys and my sunglasses in. You could also probably put an iPod or something else up there.

I gave this four stars instead of five only because I wish there was a smaller zipper pocket on the front of the bag. My other JanSport bag had more smaller compartments and I do miss that. All in all, however, I love the style of this bag and the color, so this is a great bag for the price.

Altego Coated Canvas Cyan 17-Inch Laptop Backpack - Black (36300)

I just received this bag today and was instantly pleased. Please forgive any redundant information with regard to previous reviews but I'm sure anything I duplicate bears repeating.

Out of the box I noticed that one of my concerns was quelled: the color. Photo flashes make this bag look much lighter and shiny than it actually is. The coated canvas has more of a slick, dark matte texture than is evident in pictures. That said the cyan is just as vibrant as in the images.

The stitching on this bag is clean and looks as though it's very tough. There are no evident thread pulls.

The material itself has a very strong feel. It alone gives the impression of lasting durability as do the reinforcements along the bottom, without being bulky.

Something that's been a disappointment in other bags that I've bought and subsequently returned are zippers. Not a concern with this bag. They're solid and have a smooth but sturdy pull. The dual-zip function for space expansion is pretty brilliant and doesn't make the bag look messy at all.

The pocket and handle on the front of the bag are very functional. It can easily hold your average sized smartphone, keys or whatever else you might want to have immediately on-hand. There's also a neat little pocket for the zipper pull on the front pouch so that it doesn't dangle -a nice little accent.

The straps are sufficiently padded and the width makes them very comfortable with a full load. The blue strap accents and clip are visually pleasing and don't feel like an afterthought. The plastic they are made of is thick and durable. At the top of the straps, where they meet with the unit itself is a handle cut-out which again feels durable and functional and not like a visual afterthought.

The top flap is latched with a cool little twist buckle that closes itself. So many of these have broken off of other bags but I don't think this one will go any time soon. The flap expands by unsnapping it from the top of the bag. Over all the flap seems like a good bit of extra protection.

Moving inside the bag; there's a surprising amount of room. The bag unzips to about 3/4 the height of the bag so you won't have to really fish around in it for anything that might be at the bottom. You wouldn't really need to have loose things kicking around in there anyway with 2 pen pockets, a single pocket the width of the 2 pen pockets, 4 mesh pockets (large enough to hold a standard sized wireless mouse snugly but not restrictively or your adapter and power cords) and also a padded pocket that will fit a tablet comfortably. There's also a large pocket on the front side that runs the width of the bag. Being an artist I tend to carry a lot of little things and being a neat freak I'm not worried that I'll be trying to keep everything organized in separate containers. There's ample room in here to organize whatever you might be carrying.

Lastly there's the Laptop enclosure. I am more than pleased with this. I have a 15.6'' laptop that fits with room to spare however it's not loose by any means. The padding is thick and fabric plush creating a secure hold. The most brilliant part is something laptop bag makers tend to overlook. My laptop has gotten dinged more than once simply by setting my bag down because there's no padding on the part of the bag that tends to take the most abuse: the bottom. Altego, smartly, padded the bottom of the bag and added an extra, removable strip of padding attached by velcro. That feature just shows the thought put in to this product.

So in the end it's the little things that count with this bag in addition to the solid stature overall. Extra padding in the laptop area, expansion without visual bulk, zipper pull hideaway, strap handle and secure but spacious pockets make this bag worth the lengthy review. Altego went out of their way to bring form and function together.

All of that said, this backpack just looks the part. Slick hipster stepping out of a trendy coffee shop or sci-fi geek stepping out of a giant mech, this bag's going to carry what you need, protect your tech and look badass at the same time.

If your 17" doesn't fit:

I bought this for my HP Pavilion g7 which is a 17.3 inch screen. I tried to place the laptop in the compartment but it did not fit. I was distraught and started looking around for a different backpack that looked this good at this price. Finding nothing I started examining the backpack to see if I could alter it to somehow fit my laptop. I found a 1/2" thick foam pad on the bottom which was velcroed on. After removing it my laptop fit perfectly.

Material Quality:

It has a coated (almost painted) canvas exterior with a nice standard nylon-like interior. It resembles the picture accurately and looks very cool by both standards of myself and the spouse. The twisting lock is quite nifty and is made of metal. What it does not demonstrate in the picture is you need to press down on the lock with the hole in order to push the spring lever down. In other words to open you need to turn the latch 90 degrees. To close it you push the top flap into place firmly and the spring locks it for you. It handled the light snow/rain that fell on it getting from the house to the car which shows promising water resistance.

In comparison:

I have used a messenger bag, a larger Oakley bag and countless jansports and other brands. This backpack is thin enough to be more messenger bag style but could fit a few (2-3 at around 300 pages each) textbooks alongside the laptop. The quality of materials (seams and sewing included) is worthy if not exceeding the price. I don't see anything that I don't like about this backpack. If I do I will update my review and take some stars off.

UPDATE: This backpack was stolen about a week later from a church I was in. So looks like the only downside of the backpack is it is tempting enough to steal.

It is the greatest backpack that I have ever owned.

And that's why this is a tragic review, people. I bought this backpack to try with my Asus G75VW, and it's important to note that while the case will hold a 17" Macbook, it cannot contain the beast that is the G75VW. That computer's got a badunkadunk.

So I returned it, and I may have actually cried a little bit. The colors are great -the laptop compartment has padding to adjust it -it feels really sturdy -the front flap clip will lock itself when you close the flap -the thing's waterproof -it has thoughtful pockets, and the chest-strap (going between the two shoulder straps) slide-adjusts to the proper place. I have a small frame (small enough that carrying around my laptop looks a bit like Bilbo Baggins trying to wield a claymore), so little details like this aren't just "hey, that's nice" things, but big differences.

And the thing just *looks* cool.

This is a good-sized, well-thought-out backpack. It'll work if you're really small, it'll work if you're not small, and it'll work with pretty much any laptop smaller than a G75VW. I'll be keeping an eye on it for if I get another laptop someday, far in the future.

And until then, I will dream.

Quite happy when I got the bag and the color looks really awesome. A little disappointed with the mould found on some parts of the bag though it was packed in a plastic wrap. They were quite easily cleaned off with a damp cloth but who knows if it'll grow again when left in a cool and moist place.....

Well, the laptop compartment is quite nicely padded but it seems that the bag does not come with too many compartments to sort out my stuff from the previous Targus bag that I was using. I had read some of the reviews saying the same thing but I thought those were just words from people who used to have a larger bag. Although all my stuff can be put inside the bag, there're just all lumped into the middle compartment.

This bag is good for travelling and perhaps people who carry simple stuff to work. Overall feel of the bag is quite nicely made although the shoulder straps could have been thicker.

Fantastic bag; I'm in love with it. I've taken it to work (30 minute bus commute, 10 minute walk through the city, then 8 hours under my desk at the office) every day for roughly three weeks and the straps are starting to soften up and the body of the bag is starting to break in, so it is no longer as stiff and boxy as it was in the beginning. All the hardware feels sturdy, and I have no fear of things coming off the bag. Definitely feels like this will last for forever.

I ONLY wear it as a backpack, because the bag would have overwhelmed my 5' 2" 110 lb frame if worn across the body. I store my laptop, power cord, purse, and sometimes my folded up pea coat in the main compartment, with my phone, wallet, keys, candies, and other loose items in all the other pockets without incident. Because of the weight, the single leather strap has bruised right where I thread it through the ring (when converted to backpack form). Since I don't intend on wearing the bag as a messenger bag, I'm not too concerned about this, but just letting everyone who wants to switch back and forth, this might be an issue. The extra wide shoulder pads distribute the weight well, and I haven't had any trouble toting around my 20+ pound bag around. I did remove one of the shoulder pads and turn it around so both were facing the same way when worn as a backpack (this is another cosmetic thing)

Just a few extra notes (Some good, some bad, but mostly just observations):

Three weeks and the bag still smells of leather. It no longer overwhelms the room, but it's definitely there. I personally love it, so for me it isn't a thing.

I swear the bag attracts marks and scratches. I'm pretty rough on my bags and possessions in general, but for the first 24 hours, when I tried to baby this bag, I failed miserable. This bag is a scratch magnet, but it looks good that way. It's wearing in so beautifully.

The straps on the two side pockets are thinner than the main strap, and one of them is not tanned all the way through (resulting in a stiffer strap, though it's so thing it doesn't affect the functionality much)

The front main strap is attached to a single layer of leather that forms a secondary pocket. When worn as a backpack, this part gets pulled on and stretched, which causes a little warping. That layer won't lay flat for me anymore.

Because of the one-strap backpack conversion, it is little tricky to get the bag on. I normally set it up on my desk and wiggle into it. I'm not ashamed.

If you're a lady, it's probably best to put your hair up while wearing this, because I've snagged my shoulder-length hair so many times. So painful.

I wish Leyden and Sons would make backpack straps for those who want to semi-permanently convert the back this way; I'd be on them so fast!

All in all, I love this bag a lot. I look at it everyday, and it makes me happy. That in itself makes the price worth it for me =D

My son (15 yr-old) loves this string bag. The material is water resistant, thick and all components are solidly sewn/reinforced. The double strings are round and very thick/solid (probably 1/4" in diameter). Be aware that this material is not expandable no stretching it out to accomodate extra gear. He carries a packed 2 1/2 inch ringer binder in it for school, but that leaves little room for anything else (and it's a tight fit putting it in and taking it out.) Otherwise, it is a well-made product that has held up well with daily use, without fading or tearing.

Quality of the bag is very good the shark fin doesn't stand as straight as in the picture.

The big benefit of this backpack is the removable parent strap that just clips on a back loop. Great if you have a runner like my two-year old, who hates holding hands or being strapped in his stroller in busy places like airports and amusement parks.

Yes, the backpack itself is a little small you can fit a couple of small toys, maybe a snack or drink. But to me, the point of this backpack isn't to make your kid carry around a lot of stuff if you're looking for something that fits books, a jacket and a few other personal items, better to look for something else.

It's quite a big bag. This will never be a carry-on bag. It has huge pockets and tons of room. It takes more effort to pull this bag than I would like. Also, the bag does not stand up. I've used it several times. It's a nuisance to have to hold it up at an airport. The minute you let go of the handle it falls flat on the ground. If I had another opportunity, I would not have bought this bag.
