Black Diamond Outlaw Avalung Pack - 1831-1939cu in
Small/medium:
Fits 16~19" torso, 30 liters/1831 cubic inches, 3 pounds 10 ounces.
Medium/Large:
Fits 18.5~21.5" torso, 32 liters/1953 cubic inches, 4 pounds 4 ounces.
Amazon system will not allow me to enter this without a star rating. I don't own one of these so I really can't, thus the middle of the road star rating.
Having said that I'm nothing if not oppinionanted so I'll say this; too much capacity for a resort/slack country backpack, too little robustness for serious use. It has the avalung so I'll make the assumption that people interested on this are into getting a tad far from the groomed slopes. Based on that these are my observations:
On the backcountry I carry snowshoes. This strap system is very likely to send your shoes flying at the first oportunity; most decent packs use (or are modified with) a decent double-dual strap, where one part tighthens the load, the second fastener on the strap locks everything, times two. The waist strap is underengineered (for the pack capacity), which will seriously limit the weigth load you can stash on this, else you will compromise comfort. Often you see packs with a pad on the back that can be unsnapped from the top, which serves as a quick sit-down pad, and as means to strap the snowboard sideways. When climbing steep I like a horizontal mount.
If you are looking for a day pack, slackcountry pack, resort pack, this should work if you pack it light, but then again I hate the extra volume that I can't efficiently put to a good use. If you are going further off trail and don't have to do a lot of hiking with a snowboard attached to it, nor carry too much weight, it should work. I would not try to carry a load, nor would I trust my snowshoes without modifying the straps.
If you must know my main pack is a North Face Off Chute 22 liter, 1325 cubic inches, 3 pounds 7 ounces, with enough features for serious use. My light pack is a 11 liter K2 Pilchuck that can fit the shovel/probe/emergency kit/sandwich, and is so slim that without snowshoes I can ride a chairlift without problems. The Pilchuck shares some of the same design shortcomings as the black diamond but that is fine; it has a third of the volume capacity. Short of you carrying steel plates you couldn't put that much weight on it, nor do I plan on summiting a big mountain with it.
At the end I'm going with the stand-alone avalung which I can then use on any backpack.

Timbuk2 Sycamore Laptop Backpack
The built in organizer faces the back of the pack, which takes getting used to and it means that anything bulky you put in there is going to catch on anything you want to slide into that pocket, so you have to look carefully when you slide anything into that pocket -this is where I put the Grid It, facing that pocket so that I just have to locate the Grid It and slide papers or folders behind it to avoid it catching. But, the simpler answer in my opinion would be to have had the built in organizer more comprehensive, with more pockets and zipaways, and facing the front of the pack.
That one design quibble is why I knocked off a star, otherwise this bag is superb and well worth the price.

It's exactly what you would expect. It's a backpack with hello kitty and a mustache. I don't know what else to say about it.My daughter loved this back pack and I have yet to see any of the kids in her school with this exact one with the mustache.(6/5/2013) So during senior year, I had an older HK backpack that had worn down, and I bought this one. it came in perfect condition, and it is absolutely cute! It's a nice size, not too small or anything. :D And everyone around me thought it was so cute!! >w< No complaints here.Saturday, September 6, 2014

Bluelounge Bonobo Series Messenger for 17-Inch MacBooks and Laptops - Black (US-MB-01)
Looks great
Very comfortable
Made from recycled materials
CONS
No dedicated laptop sleeve/section (no real protection for your mac, need a separate sleeve if you want impact protection)
Velcro on inside of flap has ripped open both mesh pockets (this is a design flaw, perhaps it's been fixed in last year?)
It's a bit priceyThis bag is not bad, but a little more simple than I thought it would be. To me, it looked a little more high end in the pictures but in person it looks slightly cheap. I don't necessarily think the product is worth the price, but it is definitely good to use as an everyday messenger bag that may be subjected to a little abuse.

Spacious interior with the lack of pockets, due to their "minimalistic" approach.Neat exterior with texture that catches particles very quickly and you need a tape to clean it.
Very comfy on the shoulder, and although it won't be horizontal but things won't fall, which was my concern.
It'd be better to attach a small description and how to use/wear. It is my first time trying a messenger bag after a bunch of backpacks, and it took me couple of days to wear it without a pause :)
The product is great and could earn the missing star, if they just improved those little important stuff, especially the extra pockets.

Baby Sherpa Shorthaul Sherpa - Black
I have a 20-month old toddler and had to ditch the over-one-shoulder diaper bag in favor of a backpack. This backpack is laid out very well:
-I put her sippy cup in the cold pack on the side and my water bottle on the other side.
-My wallet and cell phone are easily accessible in the outside pocket (with the clip).
-I put her diapers, wipes, cream, sunscreen and extra clothes/shoes in the main pocket, which also has smaller pockets for organization.
-There's another easy-access, zippered pocket at the top of the bag where I put chapstick, lipstick and pens.
-The cooler on the bottom is useful, but not a good place to store food that can be crushed because it takes the weight of the entire bag. When I use it, I put food in plastic containers with lids and then throw in a small ice pack to keep everything cool. It's still a handy space, especially if something spills because the mess is contained.
I am giving the Short Haul Sherpa Diaper Backpack 3 out of 5 stars for three reasons:
-The fabric on my backpack tore after only a few weeks' use. The tear is on the top/front of the bag and one inch long. It's not on a seam and does not compromise the integrity of the bag, but it looks bad and it does make me wonder about whether it will last through more than one kid.
-The mesh pockets on the upper sides of the bag are utterly useless. They're too small and not tight enough to hold anything. Toys, keys, and even baby sunglasses don't stay in them.
-The bag arrived with a broken key ring (it's on the inside). It won't clasp. It's not a huge deal, which is why I didn't bother returning it for a new one, but I thought it was important to note.
I would say, if you can find another backpack that fits your needs and is high quality, go with that one. My SkipHop over-the-shoulder bag was much sturdier but this Short Haul fits my current needs.

I got this when I had my son 8 months ago. I was initially extremely pleased. Then the plastic end piece on the strap to close the front pocket flaked apart. The backpack still worked, I just had to adjust it regularly, but my happiness level decreased somewhat. The other day the clasp that attached the strap flaked apart as well, rendering the backpack useless. I am unsure whether the problems I experienced were exclusive to my item, or if there was an entire lot with weak plastic parts. Either way, I will be replacing it with something else that I hope will last more than 8 months.Read Best Reviews of Baby Sherpa Shorthaul Sherpa - Black Here
We bought the Sherpa Short Haul backpack when my daughter was born in 2006. Fast forward to 2012 and this bag is still running strong! Still looks great, no tears or flaking. Kids are now 6 and 5 and this is perfect for a day trip to the zoo. Keeps the cool snacks cool and room for other items without issue. Could use larger cup holders on the side as their cup holders are now larger, looks like I'll upgrade to the 5.11 H20 Carriers for that. I strongly recommend this bag, especially for new dads. You will not be disappointed.I researched diaper bags for a long time before my son was born. My parents gave us this backpack diaper bag that I had chosen. At first my husband and I loved it. I cloth diaper, and this bag is large enough to hold the diapers as well as other essentials. Quickly, however, I was disappointed. First the mesh on the front ripped. I continued to use the bag. Then the shoulder strap broke when we had only had the bag a few months. When I contacted the company their suggestion was for me to take it to a tailor to have it fixed they did not offer to stand behind their product at all. Later when I looked into having the bag fixed I realized that when the strap broke part of it was lost and now it cannot be fixed sufficiently. I could still use the bag, but the waist strap cannot be used. What a waste of money!Sunday, January 26, 2014

High Sierra Access Backpack
Here are my observations:
+ Quality; this is made from good material and is well constructed
+ Design; lots of conveniently placed pockets
+ Comfort; nicely padded and distributes weight
+ Size; nicely sized for 15" laptops (a 17" would fit) and sundry school supplies
+ Rain Cover; stores nicely in dedicated compartment on bottom of pack
There really isn't anything we don't like with the design, functionality, or durability.
Highly Recommended!
CFHI went looking online for this specific backpack. Bought it at Dicks 2 years ago for about twice the price. We bought this for one reason, it is the largest backpack we could find (in cubic inches). My daughter lugs almost 40 lbs of books a day back and forth to school (and soccer and track practices) and this backpack fit them nicely and held up for over one school year. I am surprised it lasted that long with the abuse it took, Eventually it was a zipper that gave out but the material was still in great shape. I bought one for my son too for this school year, before replacing my daughters. The backpack also has an attached rain cover built in at the bottom that you can unvelcro and pull over the backpack when it's raining. This was especially useful when the backpack was lugged to her sports practices. I would highly recommend this for someone looking for a very durable backpack at a reasonable price...

Backpack was purchased for college student with heavy books. Bag is very durable with secure straps. Bag has lots of room for books, laptop, water, etc. and also stylish. May purchase a second backpack as a gift.Read Best Reviews of High Sierra Access Backpack Here
Pros:Love the expandability and all the pockets. Seems durable.
Cons:
I first noticed that the zipper on the main pocket was hard to zip over the top, even if there was nothing in it. I thought the flap was maybe a teensy bit too tight, or too stiff... and that it would improve with use.
Then I noticed that the odd little velcro pouch that comes with it was sewn lazily and thus is too small (and lopsided) for anything to go in it. Not sure what it was intended for... a tiny cellphone or walkie-talkie?
But I recently put the backpack to the test, on two small (week-long) trips. Both involved carrying it through the airport; the latter involved carting my laptop around as I attended conference sessions. And that's when I figured out something is very wrong with this pack. My back hurt quite a bit, but I thought I just hadn't gotten the straps adjusted right. When I took it off, and turned it around so I was looking at the part that touches your back, where the straps are attached, I realized that they are sewn on crooked. There is no way the pack can balance properly, or zip shut elegantly (see above).
I have to say, I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't notice this right off the bat. I'm usually more vigilant, especially when purchasing online. But I'm even more disappointed in High Sierra, that they would let such a product pass inspection and be sold. I would be wary of buying any of their products now...i had a sierra suitcase and wanted something sturdy. they also back up their products. great color and lots of room.

Cosmos Leather Skin Case for Macbook Pro 13-Inch/13.3-Inch with Cosmos Cable Tie - Black
A few cons (not major) with this product: the magnet is indeed quite weak, but knowing that going in made it less of a big deal for me. I'm always pulling the elastic bands down to stay on my computer as they tend to slide off the computer as you push the monitor back. The only thing I worry about with this cover is my computer overheating. When the computer warms up, the heat is pretty much trapped in because there are no holes or anything on the case. Not the most amazing circumstances, but I'll let you judge if that's a big problem for you.
I've had this case for a month or so, and I like it a lot. The price can't be beat, it was shipped on time, it hasn't required maintenance (cleaning, hiding scuff marks, etc.) and it makes my laptop easy to carry around.THE ONLY BAD THING IS THAT MY CASE CAME WITH SOME KIND OF KNIFE CUT SO YOU CAN SEE IT

I also love the leather on the top where my wrists rest while I type.

Buy Back Pack Sailor Soilders Starry Background Sailor Moon GE Animation Now
About 4 months into owning this with light use (laptop and notebook at most) 3-4 days a week the shoulder straps pulled away from the material. The blue material of the bag itself seems to be the cause as the shoulder bags/messenger bags of the same material have had the same problem for me. The seams fray and pull apart. Such a shame but I LOVE the design of these products. Would just like to see them made more durable.Read Best Reviews of Back Pack Sailor Soilders Starry Background Sailor Moon GE Animation Here
I absolutely love this back pack and it was absolutely my favorite until it broke this morning. The right strap just snapped (and I literally mean SNAPPED) right off at the bottom of the backpack, leaving a tremendous hole. Not only did it ruin the rest of my day, but I'm so sad now. I'm going to try to figure out if I can maybe sew it back together, but I'm afraid it will just break again.I wish this backpack was made a little more sturdy. I've had it for less than a month!

Armor Tactical Response Backpack Bag for Professionals GO Bag
The inner large pocket is one giant pocket with two mesh inner pockets (on the same side as the front water bottle pockets). I can hold one foldable canvas litter and an emergeny radio/binoculars in the mesh pockets. The large inner area can hold a green CERT backpack and the waist pack just right. The shoulder straps shown work but are not comfortable for any kind of long hauling more to get your gear from your truck to a plane or bus.
This pack (in my opinion) is great to keep all of your CERT gear, climbing gear, water rescue gear, etc. in one spot, easily accessable and organized. I keep mine in the back of my Excursion but this would fit even in smaller cars (mid size to the larger end of compact cars). NOT for smart cars, etc. :) This is much more durable than a typical zipper duffel...the zipper is very tough (heavy duty YKK?), stitching is beefy and it's meant to be abused.
Does it's job...price has gone up since I bought mine (found it for closer to $75)...honestly I wouldn't buy it now at it's current price you can find other bags without the 'frills' (MOLLE, etc.) that you don't end up using anyway. If you can find it cheaper than $100, go for it, but at $129 it's a little overpriced.
