This review is for the 15.4" Air Traveler only, not the Corporate Traveler.

1. Excellent bag for airport checkthrough. Breezed through security at New York JFK and Portland, OR PDX.

2. Ample room for Dell Latitude E6500 15.4", notebook mouse, and computer power cord and thin transformer block. If you have one of the older thicker transformer blocks, I'm sure it would fit, though with a very slight bulge.

3. Very light bag compared to others, but still strong and well made.

4. Romm for some papers, but not a lot. Not meant to be a full briefcase.

5. Strap for fitting over rolling suitcase handle.

6. Front side pockets for things like air tickets, one zipped and the other open but deep and snug enough so that tickets won't fall out.

7. Easily fit under seat of AirBus 320.

This case was everything I had hoped it would be. Light weight and comfortable to carry thru the airport. Zipped right thru TSA as advertised without removing the laptop from its case. It held a lot of other things comfortably in the case, but I always felt the laptop was also properly protected. Had no problem fitting both the case and my very oversized purse under the seat in front of me. Would definitely recommend.

The bag is as described no surprises. The checkpoint friendly feature has worked as designed without any issues in security (LAX, SFO, ORD, MDW).

If you occasionally travel for business with out a lot of extra stuff this bag is adequate. If you are a frequent traveler you will be disappointed.

Here are my thoughts on the design flaws:

*The strap is terrible slowly extends if you carry it for any distance. I have been walking from the hotel to the office rather than taking the shuttle about 15 minutes each way. The strap slowly comes loose as you walk and constantly falls off your shoulder.

*Other reviewers noted that there is not much space for documents definitely an issue. it holds a decent amount, but certainly you won't be carrying any books or binders along with those documents.

*Bag does not allow you to carry anything that is oddly shaped specifically you can't get noise canceling headphones in without a struggle. Mine collapse down pretty small and it is tight. So many business travelers carry these and it is hard to get them in the bag if you are carrying documents as well.

*No water bottle holder.

Pros are that it seems durable and as noted the security feature worked fine. My iPad slides right into the middle and when you separate it for the airport scanner you can grab it and drop it into a bin leaving the laptop in the laptop sleeve section. An advanced design would include a flap for iPads that flips out when you open the case for scanning.

There's not a lot of bells and whistles with this bag, it isn't super stylish. BUT it isn't too heavy, it seems pretty durable and it is great for airline travel. I would recommend it for frequent fliers who don't have to carry too many paper files along with them.

I bought this as a upgrade because I had so much extra tech stuff that it would not fit my other bag. the front pocket holds my: mouse, 7 USB hub, 9-Piece USB 2.0 Adapter Retractable Cable Kit w/Vinyl Case, some pens and pencils, and a few small cords. The area behind the front pocket has a divider to separate important documents but i use one side for electronics and the other side for papers. I don't travel so i haven't used the EZ-Travel component of the bag but i will use it if i get more electronics. HAHA. I have a 15.6 Toshiba laptop and it fits great. there is a velcro strap in that pocket, and i find it useless because even with a larger than recommended laptop it still will not work to secure it soundly plus if i use it than its one more thing i have to do to get my laptop out. It is very professional looking; for the price of an average bag at Staples. There are two open ended pockets for easy access but I don't use them because they are 1. open; so anyone can see whats there, 2. open; so anything can fall out. They are however big pockets; stretching almost all the way across the bag. It comes with a standard shoulder strap with an O.K. slidable padding strip.

MAXPEDITION FALCON-II BACKPACK OD MAX0513G

I've been using this pack for about four or five months now. It has proven to be just as very high quality as every other Maxpedition product I have ever used. It's of heavy duty nylon construction like all Maxpedition products I'm familiar with. I think this pack is about 1300 cubic inches. It has two large main compartments. The larger one is accessed by a full clamshell zipper that goes all the way around the bag, and inside it has a large mesh pocket inside just right for maps or documents. It also has another smaller inside mesh pocket with zipper for small items. The smaller main compartment has a similar clamshell access, but only about 2/3 of the way around. It also has three small pockets inside for small items. The pack has two cinch straps on each side to compress the two main pockets. Behind the larger main compartment there is a pocket for a two or three liter Camel-Bak or similar water bladder with a hose access port on top, but the pack does not come with a water bladder. There are two utility pockets on the front. The bottom one is fairly large and includes interior organizer pockets for pens, tools, etc. and a key hook. The top one is just a plain rectangle, but roomy enough for sunglasses, Ipods, cell phones, snacks, or similar quick-access items. These two front utility pockets can be cinched down with Maxpedition's trademark Y-strap. The shoulder straps are padded and comfortable and there is a hand strap/haul loop on top. The back is padded for comfort, also. There are two cargo straps on the bottom which would work for a sleeping bag or blanket. There are also MOLLE type web straps on the sides and front for attaching other gear.

I've been using this pack for day hikes and weekend trips. It's comfortable to wear and balances well, and its narrow profile makes it easier to move with than a wider pack. It easily holds my poncho and blanket, plus water and food and cooking gear. I still have plenty of room for other items like clothes, hatchet, flashlight, toiletries, first-aid kit, etc. Overall, I think this is a great pack and I highly recommend it.

I had placed the pack on my wish list, and was surprised with it as a birthday present. Although the primary intent was for me to carry my gear when relic hunting, I took advantage of a zoo trip to show my wife just what the pack could do. I asked her into the kitchen where she watched me pack every item she wanted to take to the zoo into my new daypack. Being a Former (FMF) Corpsman with the Marines, I took a great amount of joy in not only packing what my wife thought was essential, but I also added other items she had not even thought of. Have two children ages 2 and 3, I included the essential changes of clothes for "accidents" that might occur if restrooms were not near. I can go on and on about just how efficient thig bag is, but you realy need to see for yourself. After showing the bag to a fellow relic hunter and demonstrating only a few of the features, he quickley asked where and how to obtain one. This bag is great for everyone, and easily adjusts to the needs of the occasion. Dads couuld think of this as the coolest diaper bag ever if they don't like what they are currently carrying.

I wanted this item for a cell phone to go into a purse. Didn't want the traditional cell phone cover and this worked perfectly. Protects the phone great. The quality of the fabric exceeds that of Vera Bradley. I had never heard of this brand before and glad I have discovered it. I have since bought a couple more Bella Taylor items and am very pleased. I got this backpack for my daughter who's in first grade. it is a bit big for a first grader but she loves the brat dolls. there was a ton of space both on the sides as well as 2 separate zip compartments. there was even a separate opening for her pencils and the bag is very durable.

Makes for a good day pack for a couple out for a day hike. Plenty of room for food, water, First-aid and camera equipment. There is no pouch for a sleeping bag if you are looking for an overnight backpack.

I took this pack on an 8 day trip to Costa Rica and it was perfect. I wanted something that would fit overhead to avoid bag fees, waiting, and lost luggage.

I'm a Rick Steves fan and follow his light packing tips. That said, I took several pairs of pants, many shirts, swimsuits, underwear, and an extra pair of shoes. I also brought back souvenirs. Everything fit! The buckles on the side allow it to tighten or expand a bit. I also packed a small expandable duffel to use as my second "personal item" carry on for bulkier souvenirs. If you were going to a cold climate (bulkier clothes) for the same length of time you might need something a bit bigger.

Our group had some folks with bags two to three times the size of this one. They were HUGE and heavy. I'm very happy I bought this pack. Only improvement I'd make would be a zipper up the side. If something is on the bottom you have to dig it out.

I REALLY love this backpack. For the day hike, this is totally perfect. For bicycling (with the included rain fly) it's perfect. I can hike through the woods with this lightweight pack or ride my bike through my home town to carry some groceries. Couldn't be happier!

It is meant exactly for what it was meant for, per the company= day hiking!

When I first bought it, I didn't realize how small that it seemed but that's my own fault.

It is not "really" meant for prolonged hikes (2 or more days) but you can probably get away with an overnight trip. The reason why I mention this is because is I have several "minimalist" items and they all fit...except the the sleeping pad and sleeping bag, which I argue are made for backpacking. It will fit a 1 person backpacking tent w/rain fly, 3 days worth of freeze-dried food, large first aid kit, mini stove and backpacking cookware, very few extra clothes...and the top portion can carry wallet, keys, emergency gear, trail mix, gloves, rain poncho, etc;

Including these items, it will not fill a sleeping bag and pad WITH the rain fly. This poses a problem if you want to actually hike for longer than 2 days. You can get compression sacks and stuff your sleeping bag in them, then attach that to the backpack, outside of the rain fly with bungie cords or something...

It will look silly but this backpack can work for more than 2 days if you do this.

Other than that, I have a 75 liter backpack for days longer than 1 day.

I totally love this backpack and all of it's features!

My husband & I purchased these bags with a backpacking trip planned to the Philippines in June. We took them out yesterday to bag a peak where we live. They were great!

My only complaint is you have to take everything out to get to the bottom (however we knew this when we bought them). Also they are not great for a short torso like mine, but once again we knew this when purchasing.

Overall we are very happy with these! I will let you know what we think after our 2 week trip coming up.

Ibex 17 Inch Notebook Backpack

First things first: has my removable pouch been stolen? coz i can't find it. ;) Maybe it's just another amazon error in the product description.

Down to the proper review:

There's no point repeating all the great features mentioned by others. You've read the other reviews: you know all about the fact that it's pretty much the only bag guaranteed to fit the large 17" laptops. In fact Dell sell it on their website as a bag that fits their 17inchers.

Here's a feature no one else has mentioned so far: unlike the Columbia Cyberpack, it has a plastic [fake leather] waterproof base so u can confidently place it on a wet/messy floor.

Someone mentioned the zippers not having zipper flaps to stop rain getting in. But we all know that those flaps over the zips can be awkward. I'm looking at my bag right now and i can see that there are flaps BENEATH the zipper on each side. So for rain to get in, it would have to get thru the zipper then thru the flap/ribbing directly [like 3mm] underneath. It's hard to describe what it is but it is water proof material beneath each side of the zip that closes together like drawn curtains when the zip is zippered shut.

NOT MENTIONED B4:

One nice visual aid is that the zippers for the main compartment are noticeably bigger than the others.

Also there is an apparently flimsy handle at the back behind the main handle. It's to hang the empty/lightly filled bag up on a hook. It took me about a minute to work out what it was for. :O

btw: the main handle is totally over-engineered but gorgeous: it is a very soft plastic and fabric handle surrounding a a steel wire handle which is itself coated in plastic. It's one mean looking handle.

One thing, I've noticed is that one of the shoulder straps is loose around the length adjuster and i have to keep tightening it up or the one for the right shoulder keeps getting longer and longer. I'm thinking of stitching it into the desired position but because i go to the gym and have aspirations of getting an upper body like John Cena's, i fear that if i stitch the shoulder straps into the present desired position that when [not if ;)] i get huge it would no longer fit across my back and I'd have to unstitch the straps and readjust to fit around my hopefully huge back. As you can imagine: i hope i do encounter this problem. It would be a small price to pay for looking like John Cena. ;)

btw: In comparison with the Columbia Cyberpack [a laptop backpack for up to 15-Inchers], that i also own, it doesn't have the Cyberpack's reflective elements useful for when walking at night.

Perhaps the quick pocket [the red-lined pouch near the handle] should have been made of luminous material on it's inside [instead of the red lining] to help find things in the dark when outside. I suggest keeping a small torch inside the small pocket inside the quick pocket.

The organiser/organizer panel in the front compartment elicits mixed feelings:

Pros:

I has two slots for credit cards. Good

A good mesh pocket to hold a battery powered shaver.

A good pen holding pocket.

Cons:

It has three pockets. good. but they are on top of each other so if you use all three it cause a bit of a bulge in the front pocket.

Also, there is a clip for key rings but the thing it so short it's hard to find and a lot more awkward than what it should be.

I suggest buying the "Victorinox 1679500 Army Knife Swiss Champ" to fit in the organiser panel. It has a pocket to fit it.

3: small pocket inside the top 'quick pocket' near the handle. [with an exit for mp3 player head/earphones]

4: document pocket inside the laptop compartment [I SUGGEST NOT PUTTING TOO MUCH IN THERE COZ IT MIGHT PRESS AGAINST THE LAPTOP SCREEN-LID.]

5: small zippered mesh pocket inside top of laptop compartment.

There are two problems I have had with notebook backpacks in the past. Number one was, that they say to be 17 inch compatible, but they actually do not fit larger than average 17 inch notebooks. Rest assured that this backpack will even fit the largest 17 inch laptops. I can fit the Dell XPS into it with no problems. The zipper line does not lie tensely over the corners of the notebook and does not create scratches.

Number two is the quality of the zippers. The zippers have to run smoothly, easily, and not come apart, split open, get stuck, or display other annoying dysfunctions. The zippers on this pack are of very good quality.

There is tons of auxiliary storage space. If I had a say in it, the shoulder straps could have a little more padding, but since it fits my large notebook, I will not deduct any stars this time.

This back pack is very good. Well made, sturdy for carrying all the weight. The two items missing that keep this from being a 5 star review are: no waist strap, With all this wieght in the pack this would help alot. 2nd is no rain flaps on the zippers. I am in Seattle and I am concerned over rain getting into the bag on the long daily commute.

17.5 inch laptop (10lbs) 4lb power brick. plus lunch, note book, paper work, coffee thermos, Oracle manual, Reading book. Yep, alot fits in this while staying compact.

This Ibex backpack is the very best backpack on the market for a 17" laptop, but it's slightly disappointing when you compare it side-by-side with the 15" Synergy backpack from this VERY SAME COMPANY! I don't understand why Wengar Swiss Gear doesn't simply make a 17" version of the Synergy backpack?

Right off the bat, I was disappointed to find out that this 17" backpack has FEWER POCKETS AND STORAGE COMPARTMENTS than the 15" backpack. How is that possible for a bag that's supposed to carry a LARGER laptop? My biggest disappointment, however, was that there is NO SMALL ZIPPER POCKET on the very front of the frontmost pocket. This pocket was so handy for quickly throwing in airplane tickets or itineraries or anything else that you need to grab quickly. Next, the zipper pockets on the 2 sides are absolutely tiny and can barely hold a pack of gum. Compare this with the 15" backpack, which has HUGE zipper pockets on the sides which stretch all the way down the side of the backpack... I used to store my digital camera and other big items in those side pockets.

However, after using this backpack for 2 years, I have grown to love it and I have yet to find any other backpacks that are BETTER than this one. So this is absolutely the best backpack on the market, but there's always room for improvement! :)

I'm ambivalent about this review.

The pros are that this backpack has a lot of room and carries everything well.

The cons are signficant.

1) if you are a semi-muscular person, the shoulder straps could hurt. The one thing that other owners of this knapsack have commented on is that this problem could be solved if Wenger had just put cross strap that crosses in front of one's chest and connects the two shoulder straps.

2) one of the shoulder straps has a place for a cell phone. There are a couple of problems with it. First, it is way too narrow to fit a smartphone (e.g. an iPhone or a BlackBerry). It can only fit an old-fashioned cell phone (i.e. a non-smartphone). Second, the bottom of this cell phone holder is a major weak spot for the knapsack. It broke apart after a month. The worst thing is that I've seen this exact same problem on several different Wenger backpacks.

3) the other shoulder strap has completely fallen apart.

Wenger needs to redesign the shoulder straps for their backpacks. They have a great product otherwise, but since many people are carrying laptops in their backpacks, shoulder straps that break apart endanger laptops. In contrast, I've had an L.L. Bean backpack for 10 years and have put them same amount of stuff in it. The shoulder straps are still intact, however, the Wenger backpack has better aesthetics.

NOTE: I have to write an update. If you want absolutely great customer service, then Wenger is the company. I went to their website and found the email address for the Warranty Department. I sent an email and they responded within 30 minutes. They asked for some readily available information and a few pics of the problem. I sent it to them and they responded within 30 minutes that I needed to pay $10 for shipping and handling by PayPal. I did this and they again sent me a reply email within 30 minutes that a replacement backpack was going to be sent to me. I received it the very next day. I did not have to waste any time or energy sending back the defective backpack, and now I have a perfect knapsack again. Wow! Truly A+ customer service.

I'm still unsure about the quality of this item, but no other company I've ever dealt with has the customer service of Wenger. This company totally deserves its excellent reputation.

If this backpack holds up, then I will revise and give it far more stars.

I purchased this for my 4 year old daughter. She LOVES it...so much, in fact, that she refuses to use it, because she says she's saving it for kindergarten. Dr Who Call Box School Bag Rucksack Backpack

My son is really, really into Doctor Who. He was thrilled to be able to get an 11th Doctor backpack for school this year. Unfortunately, this backpack is very small. My son is in first grade; he has only a notebook-size school agenda and a lunch box. If he has a lunch that includes a thermos or large bowl, I have to squish the lunchbag into the backpack. This is too small for an older child. However, it would be perfect for a preschooler or even as a toy-tote for non-school use. We are not dissatisfied overall, I just wish the product detail on the selling page had given a clearer indication of size (even listing the dimensions would work). Of course, the standard Doctor Who response is: It's bigger on the inside! This backpack is not :-(

I would recommend this backpack for a preschooler or for use as a toy tote but I don't recommend it for an actual school-use backpack.

I paid $13 dollars for this item and I wanted to buy two but I figured to buy one and see how it was first. It arrived way faster than expected and I love it. And so does my four year old daughter. Now we are fighting over who gets to keep it. I would order a second one but the price jumped to $40 since I ordered it three weeks ago. I don't know why but I am so disappointed. It is definitely not worth more than what I paid for it. It is small and cute and perfect for what I need it for but for $40, I would never buy it. I appreciate that I got it so fast when the delivery was expected to be after Christmas and I got it way before but I am disappointed that I cannot get another one for the same price. Perfect for what I needed it for. I can never keep a purse for long they always tear of a strap breaks or something happens to them because they can't hold up with all of my use. On top of that I need something that if it weighs more than 5 pounds it break. "When I go anywhere instead of packing another bag I just stuff everything in my purse; I end up with 2 novels and anything else I need at any given time in my purse." This bag is perfect for me, it is small enough that i can fit it in my TINY locker at work but still big enough that I can fit everything I need. "including a small first aid kit."

The picture is really awesome and I've had it for nearly a month and a half without any negative where on the bag. I always get complemented on it everywhere I go. Measuring it out in in I'm showing about 9 wide by 12 tall; or if you use cm I'm showing 23 wide by 30 tall about. Also the straps have very cool Velcro on the bottom so if something happens you can always untangle yourself that way.

For a backpack this is very small and should definitely not if you are in middle or high school where you have to carry your books to and from school. In high school this definitely wouldn't have worked for me because it may fit one big text book but that is all. "Of course My backpack back in high school needed to be bucked up or else the car would think someone was sitting in the passenger seat not buckled up.... about 50 pounds"

I am very small boned so the straps fit over my shoulders but if you are at all bigger I can't suggest this for you. The only reason I am not just using a huge purse is because I have always connected those with older people or mothers but really that is just something I have always thought.

As stated, this backpack is on the small side, but will work nicely for kindergarten. I'm not sure it will fit a standard size folder, but is perfect for a composition (marble) notebook and other supplies. The backpack arrived well ahead of the scheduled date which is wonderful. Our son is very excited to have a Doctor Who backpack, and can't wait to use it.

Obviously, if you are looking at this item, you are cool with the whole "man bag" or "murse" concept. I have a larger leather shoulder bag that I use for travel or business that is great. But when I'm just going out on errands or for the night, this is perfect for storing all those little things that you don't want in your pockets. I really REALLY hate having crap in all my pockets. This keeps everything out of the way and sorted for easy access. This is what I usually have on me...keys, wallet, phone, smokes, lighter, gum, ipod, sunglasses. It all fits! The top cell phone pocket works for my crappy low-fi cell phone but I don't think an Iphone or blackberry would fit (but you could just use the other pockets). One of the front zippered pockets is pretty tiny for getting your fingers in...but I'm sure if you've got something small to hide, this would be good. The leather is surprisingly pretty good quality, except on the bottom of the pouches (where it is collapsable) where it is thinner. I'm hoping it will wear okay. It's attractive and sleek...I would totally be okay wearing it out with something a little dressy. It's not going to be as cumbersome or attract as much attention as a full on man-bag (maybe you don't want your buds to mock you like Zack in the Hangover). And seriously...for the price, it's great value. If I could get one in brown, too, I would. Try it out. If you don't like it...your not out much coin!

.....as right-handed person, I'd prefer one that would rest on your left side, so that you would reach across your chest to use it. Good build; looks smart.

Knomo Kobe Messenger Bag

I recently purchased this bag and was very pleased with the quality, styling and price. I did a lot of online research to replace a TUMI bag I had used for years at work. After getting tired of finding the same bland and boring black nylon messenger bag, I stumbled across Knomo in a magazine article. The quality is very good with detailed/contrasting stitching, fine leather exterior, padded orange interior with multiple size compartments for just about everything. The nickel ends to the shoulder straps are nicely finished and look very modern and durable. I am certain this bag will last me for years to come! The Amazon price is also a lot less than other sites I searched. If you are looking for a simple, modern and elegant bag I would definitely recommend the Kobe Messenger Bag by Knomo!

I purchased a very similar bag from Knomo and really liked it when I got it, BUT when the seam which holds the shoulder strap on one side split wide open, and I called and sent pictures to Knomo, they were completely unapologetic and unhelpful.

If you can afford to buy a new $300+ bag every 2 years, then this is the bag for you. Other interior pocket seams have also came apart, so this was not just a single bad stitch.

If you expect such a bag to last you for years of good use, you will be sorely disappointed.

I am writing this because when I was doing research for a messenger bag, I couldn't find a lot much feedback from owners of Knomo bags. I encourage more people to write, I think they are make quality products.

I've been using the Kobe Messenger bag for the last couple of months and so far it's everything I was looking for.

It's the perfect size and made with amazing quality and detail. The leather is very soft and the cushiony interior holds my T400 laptop securely. Unlike the previous reviewer my interior is green and not orange.

I used to carry around a backpack and can carry almost everything that I used to. I am looking for a water bottle that will fit in this bag and it would complete everything I need when I go out.

I thought the bag was great when I got it a few weeks ago. I used it lightly everyday however a few days ago one of the so-called metal ends just broke in half. I am not joking.

I am very familar with metal and it will stretch or deform however this when looked at closer looks like some type of other material. I don't think plastic.

If it is metal then the end pieces supporting the shoulder strap are extremely brittle showing pour quality and cheaper manufacturing which should not be in a bag that costs anywhere near this amount.

I just received my bag today. I am a 30 + yr old Business owner that just finished my BS in Business Management. The bag was a treat from my wife to replace my school bag with a professional bag. I purchased this bag from Walmart and I received it yesterday. Other than the design being cute, I was horribly disappointed.. The fabric they used to make this bag is cheap and thin and wouldn't hold up to a school year of vigorous use....your child's books would start ripping right through the bottom within a few months, IF that. So, $50 for this less than standard quality bag down the drain. I have to have my daughter use it as a hiking bag only, since we pack only very light things, and I can also keep an eye on the bag the whole time. Look elsewhere, Like the High Sierra brand. I just bought there Cirque hiking bag and expect that will last many years.

My 8 year old son loves it. His favorite color is green and his favorite reptile is a snake. Couldn't have asked for a better combination.

Kiva Luggage Packing Genius Compress-It Cube, Small

This is designed well enough and the zipper worked properly. I returned it because it is not what it seems to be according to the description. I stumped upon this when I was looking for those plastic compression bags for travel. From the description I thought that this was a compression bag covered with netting type fabric. I confess that perhaps it is my own ignorance, as I am an infrequent traveler, but this bag has no compression type ability at all, if we are talking about compression like the space bags. It is merely a container made of netting with a zipper attached. This makes luggage about as compressible as when I sit on it. If you are looking for a net container, this is it and I would rate it 4 or 5 stars for that. However, I think the description is misleading, I was disappointed, and had to go through the aggravation of returning it.

I bought this item quickly thinking that I was getting the set of 3 sizes....the grey picture looks like that.. but when it arrived i was disappointed that it was only the larger size. I was going to return it, but then I tested it out and its really useful. Despite the pic issues, i really like it for traveling and would recommend to others. Just beware that you're not getting all 3 sizes.
