Sumdex Impulse X-sac Rain Bumper Backpack-15.6"

Full Speed Rain Bumper BackpackThis backpack is good but feels as though it was built with a compromise in mind between different demographics and how it would be used. I should tell you I am pretty hard on backpacks as I am a full-time student and commute via bike and train nearly everyday. I am fairly active outdoors but this isn't my first choice when planning a trip, so keep that in mind. I will try to keep this brief and only stick to the points not covered in the product information from Amazon, which is really the only reason I am reviewing this as I depend on reviews to make purchases here all the time so I figured I would give everybody a heads up.

As I said before I don't think this is a backpack for anybody that plans on using it for day trips or light hiking because of the absence of a sleeve for a water pack, in addition to the total lack of being able to strap or tie any extra layers of clothes to the back. The included rain slicker works as you would hope but the strap keeping it attached to the backpack is sewn so you can't remove it for separate cleaning or adjust it for a better fit when the backpack is bulging.

When using it for everyday use I appreciate the laptop sleeve that snugly fits my 15.6" Vaio in the main compartment along with all the chargers and accessories I can't seem to leave home without. Pay close attention to the physical dimensions if you need a lot of room as this isn't exactly spacious. I have enough room for a three ring binder, two books, my electronics, and some snacks... thats it. It should also be noted that whoever designed the headphones-port/iPOD holder obviously never used it so that feature is pretty much useless.

The pack was sewn with a lot of single or double stitching so I don't know how long it will hold up but I have used it for two months with no problems. Also the strap and back padding reduce the perceived weight of the pack and stays centered even when riding like a maniac on my trek so I wouldn't worry about a chest strap if you are looking for that. The only reason this gets four stars is because its relatively cheap for a slicker backpack and isn't too shoddy on the quality of the materials or fit. If it blows out or angers me in some way I will try to remember to update this review to spite the manufacturers... hope this helped.

FYI this bag can not hold a lot of books. I'm a grad student and carry very few books with me to class; however as an undergrad I carried lots of books and this bag would not have worked well.

Good:

very comfortable

nice design

compact nice when traveling on flights

self stowing compartment for rain cover

Bad:

15" laptops will fit fairly tightly

not a lot of excess room for larger books

layout of pockets is poor all pockets are deep which = all your belongings getting stuffed/crushed in the bottom causing headache if in a hurry

Very nice, stylish, simple backpack. The only thing I didn't like was that the laptop sleeve inside did not cover the top edges of the laptop when stored. The corners are still unprotected. In the end, I had to return it anyways since the left strap was put together reversed. So the strap would not lock. Its backwards

This is by far one of the best designed backpacks available! It is comfortable to wear, and it is spacious. Its design is VERY well thought out, with places for everything you might want to carry. I use it for my commute on the bus. It leaves my hands free for an umbrella and bus pass. The perfect solution.

After reading previous reviews, I decided to purchase this backpack. I'm a full-time college student, and I also take public transportation and walk very often. I needed something that was going to get me around to where I needed to go without breaking, something that was comfortable, long-lasting durable material, could handle a lot of heavy books, waterproof, and last but not least, something that was somewhat attractive looking. I found that I needed a bad that had a good amount of back padding to help with comfort, and also something that had 's' shaped straps, so that my shoulders wouldn't be in significant pain from carrying around my books. This bag was much more padded than anticipated! Its like having pillows behind you. Literally. There is so much space in there, along with plenty of side pockets. I also like that there is a rain slicker hidden in a zippered compartment at the bottom of the bag! This is so handy! The slicker is big enough to accommodate the entire bag when it rains, and although I haven't had a chance to try it yet, it seems like it could stretch enough to handle a bulging bag if need be. My books are pretty heavy usually but since I have been using this backpack for the past week, I haven't had any back pain, or shoulder pain whatsoever. I've actually never been more comfortable than with this bag. I personally think that it even is better quality than a northface bag. It has so many more pockets and comfort such as the well padded back panel. I also love that the laptop compartment inside is pretty well padded although it could be a deeper pocket. The top of your laptop may hang out a few inches like mine does. (I have a 15.6")

There's also pockets inside for your laptop cord, and xtras.

I just love this bag. I don't think I could ever go a day without it! Who would have thought that I'd be sitting here gushing over a backpack? HA!

Hope this review helped you!

I recently upgraded the tools of my trade to include a laptop but was confronted with the problem of fitting it into the same backpack with the rest of my gear...binoculars, VHF radio, rain gear. My work involves transferring from a small boat to a large ship in all weathers. The backpack is bright orange for the purpose of visibility so I wanted to keep it in service. The Aqua-Quest sleeve provided the water-proof integrity that I needed along with a degree of padded protection and it fit within the confines of my orange backpack. Precisely what I needed. Thanks.

This product appears to be sturdy and waterproof. The only aspect that I would like different is the Velcro flap. There is not enough flap there to securely fasten to the Velcro. Only about an eight of an inch of Velcro meets to seal the flap.

High Sierra High Sierra Elite Business Daypack

High Sierra Elite Business Pack 17-Inch Laptop Backpack - GrayI am thoroughly impressed by this bag. This is my third laptop backpack in as many months. This is the most efficient as well as tough as nails. The material is great, the storage options are great and its not too bad to look at. This thing is built to last.

I have had this about 6 months now, it's the best bag I've ever owned. I have studied laptop backpacks for years, and I've spent hundreds of dollars trying to get the "right" one, but never could do so until this one. Tumi, Targus, SwissGear, etc. Kind of funny that it found me at Costco from a brand I didn't recognize. At first I didn't believe it was "good enough" because it simply wasn't expensive enough.

Nonetheless, this one is tops, and even after owning it, I'm still amazed despite paying so little vs. what I would have expected. Despite the price, I put it in that class of $100-150 backpacks. No corners were cut that I can tell.

PROS:

Lots of pockets

Great zippers, almost all pockets have two.

Good size for all sizes of plane travels -it's not too big not too small.

Has attachment mechanism so it loops into my carry on luggage when on wheels.

Opens flat to scan laptop at airport without removing computer.

Lots of smaller pockets inside the bigger ones.

Very well built with cable loop at top, etc.

I carry mostly a MacBook 13" Air, so I can't comment on how large a laptop it will hold, but 15" should be no problem.

CONS:

Not a one.

It is very durable, light, and large! I travel often and this works well for me on a plane or in the car.

Sherpani Blaze Sport Duffel/Backpack

Sherpani Blaze Sport Duffel/Backpack - BlackI want a duffle that's just big enough for me to carry. I don't want it to look "manly" or too gym bag-ish. Sherpani Blaze is that bag!

I got the black one. It is discreet and sharp looking. The design is thoughtful for quick access and ease of carrying. All the seams are well sewn and tight. The material is smooth and feels expensive. The cream zippers and pulls are good to spot in the dark.

The shape is not square or a half circle, more like half of a half circle. At first i thought it'd be a bit small. However, the size is perfect for a weekend get-away. I can pack about two sets change of clothing, a set of PJ, and socks/underwear. Toiletry I had in a caddy therefore not in the bag. If I must fit the toiletry/make-up, I'd need to take out one set of clothing. Shoes are also not included.

The shoulder straps can be hidden in a sleeve at the bottom of the duffle. There's no waist strap but you can fashion a quick draw type with two biners and a webbing to be used as a waist belt (for more comfortable when carrying weight).

There's a reservoir sleeve inside the bag and an opening to let the water tube out. However, the sleeve is not very wide and not very deep. I think a 2L size reservoir is about it.

There are 3 outside zip pockets. OTher then the one on the top for sunglasses or iPod/phone, other two are small. There's a zip pocket inside and two mesh pockets.

There's a mesh pocket on the top but because of the curve it is not good for a 32oz bottle, a 16 or 20oz is safer. You can also use it to store the detachable long cross body strap.

So there, if you are looking for a gym bag or something big enough to take on board of a flight to carry larger or bulkier essentials, this is it. I also got a couple of Sherpani cross body bags to make a "set". :-)

This bag holds all I need to go to the gym right from work! No complaints at all...a good buy!

Love all the ways you can carry. Backpack, duffle, over shoulder. Originally bought for carry-on for flight. Great. Thought it would match my sherpani luggage, but it's a different blue.

This is a great gym bag; it's very roomy and sturdy and looks good too. I like it very much overall. Just one complain that forced me to give a 4 star instead of 5. You can carry this bag either as a backpack or as a regular gym bag with one big strap. If I want to carry it as a backpack, I can easily detach the big shoulder strap so that it's not dangling on the side. But if I want to carry it as a duffle bag and want to detack the starps for backpack, no luck!!! The backpack straps don't come off and keep dangling underneath the bag, making it look shaby and untidy. I feel they could've easily made those straps detachable too. Then it would have given the bag a clean look. I guess if I don't want straps hanging from all sides, my only option is to use it as a backpack and detach the shoulder strap. Otherwise, the bag looks really nice.

Want Sherpani Blaze Sport Duffel/Backpack Discount?

I love this bag! It easily hangs on the hook of my gym locker so I don't have to put it on a bench. And, it's the perfect size for the gym locker I never have to worry about squeezing it into a standard sized locker at the commercial gym that I go to. The material is easy to wipe out, has a waterproof pocket that I stick my wallet or extra socks in after throwing my sweaty workout clothes in and is made of an extremely durable material. The front has a pocket to hold a large sized water bottle. There are side pockets to hold your odds and ends and a top pocket that I stick my ipod in for my workouts. Honestly, it's one of the best gym bags that I've ever purchased and so far it's in great condition after a year's worth of almost daily use. I use it as a backpack most often, but there are other attachments if you want to just carry it as a should or messenger bag. Definitely recommend it for anyone!

G.P.S. Medium Range Bag, Black

G.P.S. Medium Range Bag, BlackI am not naturally organized so this bag is perfect for me. There are icons all through the bag that guide you to what you are looking for. When you are paying for time on the range you can spend your time shooting and not digging through your bag to find what you need. There are storage areas for your glasses, hearing protection, targets, magazines, etc.

I would highly recommend this product.

I loved the bag when it arrived. It has all compartments marked with plenty of internal storage as well as outside pockets for magazines, ear muffs, etc. I have purchased 2 other range bags for my hand gun storage for shooting, but by far this one has everything that you can possibly need. ALL CLEARLY MARKED so you are not having to open every pocket to remember when you put something. It also has a hard bottom, sturdy casing which holds its shape.

Buy G.P.S. Medium Range Bag, Black Now

While I typically go to the range with just a small bag (J-frame, box of cartridges and muffs, etc), more was needed when my wife decided to learn to shoot and acquired her own pistol. Most of the bags I looked at were far bigger than what I felt was needed; this has so far been perfect for our needs without breaking the bank. It easily swallows two of everything with room to spare. The bag abounds with many thoughtful features, some that weren't apparent from simply looking at the picture. Oh, and it's good-looking, too; the splashes of color are attractive.

I bought this bag from WALMART on sale for $45.00! It is awesome. It has cups velcro'ed to the inside of the front pocket im assuming its to keep brass in but im not sure. I wish they gave some type of literature explaining where and what everything is. Hell i didnt even know there was a shoulder strap hidden in the side pocket until i had to use it. Its very durable and has pockets for ear plugs and eye protection, then larger pocket for electronic or passive large ear muffs. My .44mag, .40 and .38 all full size, fit nicely in this bag. It was a steal at the price walmart had it for but i woul have still paid up to $75 for it, the quality of the stitching is very well done.

Want G.P.S. Medium Range Bag, Black Discount?

The picture and description of this item is very misleading. This is only the bag, and has no extra items in it, other than ammo cups and a small parts box. That is the way I like it, too. I'm sure if this bag came with all or even some of the items, they would be the cheap stuff.

Now for my review:

I checked out many other range bags from Blackhawk, 5.11, and others, and I found this bag and just felt so relieved when I did.

This bag has some shape to it, the other bags were all flimsy. The other thing is the "visual aid system" that helps you organize your things. The bag looks great, but is not that "subdued tactical" with the red zipper pulls, but I didn't buy the bag for looks, I bought it for what it does: It holds A LOT of things in a very organized way.

This bag has one large compartment in the middle accessed from the top, with ear plug pouches and a safety glasses pouch on the flap; two side pockets the height of the bag, with additional small pockets on the sides of the side pockets and lift ports; a front pocket with five pistol mag holders, solvent or CLP elastic holders, cleaning rod holders, and a zippered pocket inside for other supplies; and a back side that has ammo cups, small parts box, key clip, and small tool zippered pouch. It also comes with a shoulder strap. This makes for a bag around 13"x12"x9" aprx.

I have a picture of the bag and items that I have put inside, but it can hold even more. I can put 10 AR type mags, with 5 pistol mags, 8 hi-cap and 6 regular capacity .22LR mags. Around 200 rounds .40S&W, 200 rounds .223, and over 1000 rounds of .22LR. That's not including if you load your mags before putting them in your bag. I also have a full size pistol that fits in the bag with everything else.

I hope this helps in deciding what bag to get. Some other reviewers said you could buy this bag at Wal-Mart, but they don't have them anymore. These bags are kind of like ammo; scarce.

Tumi Luggage Vapor Continental Carry-On

Tumi Luggage Vapor Continental Carry-On, Silver, One SizeI got this bag as a gift for my parents, as it is about 15% larger than the Tumi Vapor International carry-on (TU28020) that I use. Still, at 22"x15.75"x9", it is small and maneuverable. I believe that this bag will make it onto most flights (excepting regional jets/turbo-props), though technically it's a little too wide in accordance with some published airline specifications (14" vs. the bag's 15.75"). If you never want to have to be told it's too big, go for the International (as I did for myself). If you need a little more space and don't mind having the ability to carry on be a little hit or miss, give this one a try. I may be wrong on this, but I don't think they make you pay the checked bag fee if they take the bag from you at the gate.

Fisher-Price Fastfinder Deluxe Messenger Diaper Bag, Grey

Fisher-Price Fastfinder Deluxe Messenger Diaper Bag, GreyThe wipes case is removable and slightly bigger than most portable cases. It does tear huggies wipes when dispensing...but lets face it...huggies wipes suck anyway! Works well with Kirkland wipes(Costco brand) or Pampers wipes. Everything else about the bag is great. I had a nice little mishap where one of my crumb snatchers popped a taco bell sauce packet and it splattered all over my brand new diaperbag...I wiped it off with a wipe and was suprised, it didn't leave a stain! I also love the large insulated "bottle" pocket. I breastfeed so I usually use this spot for a water bottle (it fits a full size 17oz bottle of water!) Lots of pockets and room inside. I have 5 kids so this bag is big enough for an extra set of summer clothes for the 2 little ones, a light blanket, a heavy blanket, 8 diapers, a changing pad (comes with bag), and pleanty of other small items like paci's and what not...there's room to spare.

This is an amazing diaper bag. After months and months of using an old diaper bag i decided i needed to upgrade to something better. This diaper bag has a pocket for everything, which makes it able to have more space in the inside of the bag. Its comes with a plastic wipe holder that fits in its own pocket so you can easily access wipes. Pacifier and diaper pockets in the front. And the insulated bottle holder on one side and another pocket on the other side of the bag. Very comfortable to wear, easy to carry a baby or walk with a kid and have this back right over your shoulder. You don't have to worry about the bag falling and getting in your way. AMAZING AND I LOVE IT!!

Buy Fisher-Price Fastfinder Deluxe Messenger Diaper Bag, Grey Now

I've had this bag for about 3 months now and I love it. I've had zero problems with it and I love all the pockets, only downside is the insulated pocket only fits one of my bottles, (avent) and it does stick out from the bag it goes into the bag so that bottle takes up space in the bag. Bag is not overly huge but not to small either. I can fit a few sleepers my formula container and then some. The diaper pocket fits about 8-10 size two diapers. The wipes container fits about a 3rd of a normal package of wipes, just make sure to check your wipes mine were in there for about a month and started to dry out. (loaded it up before i gave birth and didn't need to use it until I took her out about 5 weeks later)

Read Best Reviews of Fisher-Price Fastfinder Deluxe Messenger Diaper Bag, Grey Here

This bag does have a lot of pockets, and it's a nice size, but it's cheaply made. The zipper on the main compartment broke after less than 10 uses, and the bag was not overly stuffed. The wipes case also had to be replaced very quickly, it would not stay shut. The stitching is starting to come apart in some places as well. It's a nice looking bag, but not worth the money they are asking.

Want Fisher-Price Fastfinder Deluxe Messenger Diaper Bag, Grey Discount?

Just got this in the mail yesterday. I spent months—MONTHS!—obsessing over diaper bags before deciding on this one. There were some mixed reviews regarding the wipes case popping open on it's own that made me hesitant, but easily accessible wipes were such a selling point for me I decided to take a chance and just send it back if it didn't work out. I'm really glad I did. There must have been a redesign of the case since those reviews were posted, because there is just no way this would open on it's own. In fact, I suspect that I might need two hands to do it (one to push the button to unlatch it, and the other to actually open the door), which I'm fine with.

The bag itself is roomy with plenty of pockets (labeled, even!), and it's very comfortable to wear messenger-style. The fabric looks much more matte in the photo. In person, it has a bit of a sheen to it and seems like it would be very easy to clean up.

ASUS Republic of Gamers Shuttle Backpack for Laptop

ASUS Republic of Gamers Shuttle Backpack for LaptopComfortably carries all of my equipment. Has way more storage space then it appears. The backpack appears sturdy enough though I have only had it a few short weeks. The bag itself is comfortable to carry.

The bag has lovely features, great pockets for all of the gadgets you'd want to have on hand, and a generous main pocket. I have a G75VW-DH72, and the laptop pocket is too small for this laptop. It does fit in the main pocket, but who wants to waste that much functionality?

Also -the zipper for the main pocket is light-duty; the brand new backpack already had a kink around the corner. I wouldn't recommend it for a heavy traveler.

So -great features, but the intended laptop doesn't fit, and it isn't that durable.

Buy ASUS Republic of Gamers Shuttle Backpack for Laptop Now

I've used this backpack for the last 13 months and am now replacing it with a different brand. I liked it initially because it has a well-padded laptop compartment, two padded side compartments and a padded top pocket. The laptop compartment is spacious, and I fitted an extra layer of protective foam in it. It's also relatively water resistant. So, it provided quite good protection for my gear. However, the zips are small and they come apart. The stitching that holds the zip to the fabric breaks. After only about 8 months, the zip stitching on the main compartment broke and the zip began to pull away from the fabric, causing the zip to jam. I repaired the stitching, only to have another patch pull away. After a total of four repairs, I'm sick of this bag. I was also sick of not being able to fit much in it. I wouldn't recommend this bag since the zips are not durable. After doing much more research, I've ordered a Case Logic RBP-117 17.3-Inch MacBook Pro/Laptop Backpack with iPad/Tablet Pocket (Black) to replace this bag, which I hope will be better quality.

Vera Bradley Laptop Backpack

Vera Bradley Laptop Backpack in Island BloomsAwesome backpack! Lots of space, but not as spacious as LL Bean backpacks. My daughter loves it!

Very well made. My daughter loves this backpack. The colors are vibrate and the size is great. We bought the smaller version first and it was never big enough to store all of her books. The laptop backpack is a great size for middle & high schoolers. The smaller version is more for K-3rd graders where kids don't have books to bring home.

My daughter loves this laptop bookbag. The material is soft like Vera's purses and totes, so I hope it last under the weight of all of the books. I thought it would be made using a stronger fabric like the luggage is made. Love that her laptop fits so she can take it with her anywhere.

I loved this bag for the longest time, I have used the bag since the beginning of last school year (Sept 2011). After about 6 months of almost daily use the straps began to tear and fray, now the bottom is ripping. The coloring on the top and sides has faded so much that it looks like I have had this bag for 5+ years. I would not reccommend getting this bag if you are looking to find something that will last more than 9 months-1 year. Also, this bag does not hold very much. A laptop, 1" binder, and a notebook are about all it can hold without straining on the zippers.

I purchased this for a family trip to Italy. It was a terrific bag. It held my laptop perfectly, as well as other carry on essentials. I checked my luggage and used this as my carry on. My only complaint would be that the "main" area of the bag should have more compartments, it was a dark cavern! Next time I will use cosmetic bags for smaller items to find them easier.

Shanghai Steel Blue Convertible Messenger Diaper Bag

Shanghai Steel Blue Convertible Messenger Diaper BagI really like this bag. I am going to spray mine with scotch guard because this fabric is really pretty. I bought it mostly for the backpack straps and those are way too long ( I am 5'7") for me, have no padding and WILL NOT work for jogging with a jogging stroller. But it has a better than average changing pad that comes with it. I will be covering my pad with vinel to protect it because I don't think it will wash well. It is rayon brocade. the inside is traffic cone orange, (trendy color this year) so you can see stuff really well. It has a magnetic clasp three outside pockets and several inside. NO DIRTY DUDS BAG. It is big enough for me because I am not using bottles and I don't leave home for long periods of time yet. My friends all really admire the look of this bag and I keep a few purse essentials in it as it is going to be my handbag for the next year or so. (unless I get out without baby LOL) oh and the fabric has an almost metallic sheen to it. the asian characters are more golden than you can see in the photo. Beauty-full!

Love it and every has been asking me where I got them from. just love it , love it. What see is what you get.

The bag is a good size for a child's items. There are several pockets inside and a few on the outside. The interior is orange so it makes it easy to find things you are looking for. The only suggestion I have about it is that the outside pockets should be a bit taller so that waterbottles stay in them better.

Insulated Drawstring Backpack Cooler Bag (Navy) by BAGS FOR LESSTM

Insulated Drawstring Backpack Cooler Bag by BAGS FOR LESSTMI bought two of these bags, not for a "Cooler bag" as stated, but for camera covers while on the tripod and during hiking. They are well made and work great for keeping dust off the cameras while not in use.

I've been using one of these bags since the purchase and noticed a tear in the inner liner yesterday. The bag is treated with kid gloves, the camera has no sharp edges and there should be no reason for a tear, especially if the inner material was made to withstand use. The bag has never been taken, to date, on a photo trip, it just covers and protects the camera from dust. I have second decisions about the quality of this product.

Good quality

Insulated interior (great for drinks!)

Pretty large, too large for my purposes. It's bigger that most other drawstrings.

Also pocket does not have zipper.

ProPac Back Pack Cooler

ProPac Back Pack CoolerI bought this bag from airspeedjunkie.com after a friend recommended it to me. I use it for everything. I use it when I go the park or beach with my kids, great for packing all of their stuff as well as lunch or a snack in the cooler compartment. I take it to the gym. And I've used it for trips as my carry on. It's spacious, has durable material and is easy to use. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

This bag is like the travel pro bags I have. Same material but with a little more thought behind the design. Great bag if you like to take your lunch with you and your laptop or ipad. I have even found it to be useful when taking the kids out. Pack their stuff in the top and juice boxes and snacks in the bottom.

Ogio Renegade RSS Laptop/Tablet Backpack

OGIO Renegade RSS Day Pack, Large, Black PindotJust bought the bag and have now been using it for a week. I won't say that I absolutely love the bag and in some ways it actually has disappointed me. But I have it three because it fullfill about 70% of my requirements.

11. A neck pillow when I fly.

12. A Mac book air.

I wanted a bag which could fit all the above items. I also like to keep my items segregated based on how often I access them and how fragile they are. So it's important that the bag has amlot of pockets. For example, I will keep my passport in a separate pocket to protect it and keep it hidden away.

My budgets for the bag was around 200$.

I researched a lot of bags, before I decided on this one.

1. Thule 32L Crossover.

2. Boa Flow

3. Samsonite Pro 3 laptop Backpack

4. Brenthaven a bit pricy.

5. Ivar Pilot Backpack

What I like about the bag.

1. There are a lot of pockets. More pockets that most bags.

1a. There are 2 side pockets on each side. i.e. 4 in total, all of them have zippers.

The ones on the bottom have mesh (see through) and can store a bottle of water when un zipper. These pockets are not too large. i.e. they are big enough to store a passport with not enough depth to store a laptop charger. I use one for my passport and the other for my Ipad and Iphone charger.

1b. Then there are three pockets in front of the bag, one main compartment and another one on the top to keep your sunglasses.

2. Quality of Zippers is good, which is very is what gives away in most bags. They are big and hence are less likely to jam

3. The size of the bag is enough to put everything that I mentioned above.

4. The quality of the workmanship is great. You can say it looks expensive, and sporty.

What I do not like about the bag:-

1. Too much padding:I know padding is important in a bag, but I think RSS has overdone it. The RSS feature (padding) in the bag, which cannot be removed which makes it heavier and making it looks bigger bloated up compared to the actual space it offers.

2. The side wall and the back of the bag are rigid. The bad is rigid because of a thick plastic sheet and a whole lot of padding. I think it is unnecessary and adds considerable weight to the bad.

3. The shoulder straps have probably the least amount of padding I have seen. It is ok if you have a light bag and carrying it for 15 minutes. However, if you have a full bag and walking from one terminal to another on Chicago internationally airport, you can feel it digging into your shoulders.

UPDATE ( 23th Sep '12)

I have now owned the bag for a couple of months and have travelled for work to Europe and Asia.

There are two issues that I find negative about the backpack...

1. It is heavy ! It is atleast 2 times as heavy as other packpacks with similar capacity. When you are moving around the airport, you can feel it digging into ur shoulders. Reason why it weighs so much is because it is very heavily padded, so match that it is over done.

2. The buckles which control the extension of the straps is loose. It will automatically extend to the fullest extension, if you generally carry you backpack on one strap. What is even more annoying is that when it is fully extended, it takes a while to tighten it.

These are the two reason, why after using the backpack for 2 months, I am giving up and moving to some lighter ones..

First off, I am apparently not the typical bag-buyer. Price was probably one of the least of my concerns, functionality was the most important. For the last 4 or 5 years I've been through 2 or 3 Ameribag ballistic laptop backpacks. The factory in Barbados closed and they don't seem to make them anymore not even shown on their site so when the last was looking a little worn, I started looking for the next bag. I need to say that the lifespan of those bags was not indicative of anything wrong with the bags: I travel a lot, to some rough places, and my bags take a beating, so 2 years for me with a bag would be very rare. Those bags were great fit my 17" MBP with no issue, plus lots of stuff nice big mesh pocket inside the front, large document filing area, zipper pocket at the very front for shoving loose change before airport checkpoints, and more. In fact, many of my complaints about the OGIO are based on the things that I miss.

I'd never heard of OGIO, but saw someone with one in an airport and thought it looked good, noted down the brand and looked it up a few days later. As far as I'm concerned, it's the same product from different retailers Amazon had the best price so went ahead and ordered.

First off, the other review is entirely correct the bag will not fit a 17" MBP. Within about 5mins of getting the bag and trying, out came a sharp knife. I cut the stitching that held the laptop sleeve just below the neoprene sock absorber. Some might think that was a bit drastic, but I was traveling the next day and really needed it to work. My laptop lives in an Incase sleeve anyway, so there was no real loss of padding for me there is still some padding at the bottom of the bag, plus the sleeve. A month in, and about 10 flights later, no issues.

What I was looking for was lots of exterior compartments, and that's the bag certainly has. The sunglass pocket is my first aid pocket, the top right is a CPR mask, etc. The main interior compartment is large and I've had 3 x 3TB hard drives plus associated cables in there, the smaller one in front contains a bunch of ziplock bags with various items, and the very front one, well, that's a bit of a problem.

The "stash" pocket in there is so small I can't even put cash or anything in there. The zippered one wouldn't even do for spare change. There's nowhere to put documents nothing like the full size compartmentalized filing system on the Ameribag. A big mesh pocket on the unused interior of the flap in here would have made a world of difference. Right now, I'm either having to stuff receipts and the like just loose in here or in the top left exterior pocket. Not being able to file papers without folding them or risking getting them crushed by other items is probably the biggest issue I have with this bag. Finally, I really miss a very simple thing a small tab with a clip on the end which I would always attached key rings to inside of the front compartment. This is being done now by the water strap in one of the mesh pockets, but it jangles and is a bit annoying.

The adjusters on the main straps slip. Not badly, but a brisk walk through Miami airport and they're at the end of their travel. The sternum strap is a waste of time kept riding up as there's nothing to keep it at a given heigh, and then one side of it popped off its guide rail after less than a week.

The bag looks great, and really does hold loads of stuff. Would I recommend? Depends on what you're doing. I do love it and am considering getting someone to sew in the modifications that I would like, but I think I'll do a little more looking around before my next bag purchase to see if I can check off on the missing items.

I now own 4 OGIO products. I have two other backpacks as well as a duffle bag. One of the other backpacks I own is one of their skate backpacks. At the time I wanted something compact, now that it has been a few years my needs have changed.

This backpack is the best I have seen from them. If you own a lot of technology and have a need to carry it with you this is the backpack to get.

Here are some things that I most always have with me, just to give you an idea of what it can hold. Keep in mind I am a college student.

Nexus 7 tablet

Cell Phone

Sunglasses

TI-84 calculator

TI-30 calculator

Erasers

At least 3 pencils

2 pens

extra led for pencils

chewing gum

clip board

2-3 one inch binders

2 textbooks

water bottle

snacks

All of those items will fit easily in this pack, with room for my camera, laptop and charger, and a mouse if I had the need to carry it with me at one time.

The backpack is not too heavy, there are more pockets than I know what to do with, and plenty of space in the main compartment, and tablet compartment for books and supplies.

Basically if you have owned anything made by OGIO before, you know it is a quality product and will last years. This is another example, including all the bells and whistles. For someone who is always on the go and owns a lot of technology, or just needs the space for other things, I highly recommend this product.

Really like the bag. Very flexible design with plenty of storage and numerous compartments for electronic goodies, adapters, etc. Only critique is that the bag is really expensive. Surely, it is a quality product, but $150 is pretty steep. Unfortunately, it looked like the best bag for my needs so I paid the $.

I am a fan of gadget inspired backpacks. With all of the cool devices that are now available to the typical business traveler you really need to reconsider how you are going to stow all of your devices. Backpacks designed more than 10 years ago were designed to store camping gear and not much else. About 5 years ago, we saw the first of the packs that were designed to carry laptops (the highly successful Victorinox is the one that comes to mind first and you still see them everywhere). Over the last couple of years a new wave of designs has entered the market they are less interested in storing camping gear but well equipped for allowing easy access to a variety of your electronic gadgets.

In my opinion, the Ogio Renegade is the best of the newly designed gadget backpacks. It offers a decent level of protection, it is comfortable to wear, but most importantly it also provides many levels/layers of storage based on the size of the items that you are trying to store.

Notes-

The laptop storage area provides a wedge of support that encompasses you computer. It is especially, effective in supporting your laptop if you backpack is dropped straight down (like when you remove it from your back and sit it on the floor).

The design fits nicely under the seat on an airplane. This may not seem like a big deal, but trust me... it is. When you pack does not fit snuggly under the seat it causes you to lose precious leg room (and possibly exposes you to ire of the flight attendants).

It is very comfortable to wear the area supporting the laptop also provides a firm but gentle support for your back.

The exterior is rip, tea, and snag resistant.

Has a built in sunglass pocket/box that offers a crush-proof compartment for sunglasses or anything that is breakable.

The entire backpack does not have an exoskeleton or any type of rigid frame but the pack seems to be fairly resistant to collapse, and I have not had any problem with anything being damaged inside.

I do wish that there were more internal storage pockets inside the individual layersI would like to have small netted pockets to store things like batteries, medicine, and other small items. The Ogio Renegade does have a few of these types of pockets, but I wish it had a few more.

Final VerdictThe Ogio Renegade is the best blend of comfort, storage, and build quality that I have found in business travel backpack. it may be significant overkill for a middle-schoolers but it has worked perfectly for all of my business travel

Pacific Design PD0198 Pacific Design Action II

Pacific Design PD0198 Pacific Design Action III travel frequently, and always have to carry my laptop. So I'm always looking for a better case. First, I tried a messenger bag. Result? Sore shoulders and a sore back. Then I tried a wheeled bag. Result? Lots of inconvenience when I wasn't actually in the airport. Then I tried a backpack. Result? Less inconvenience, but still the sore shoulders and back after spending a couple hours wandering the airport after check in or during a layover.

Now I've got this beauty!

When I want the backpack, I have it. When I'm tooling around the airport and wheels make sense, I have them.

And there are many, many pockets. Including one on the upper left that's just perfect for tossing coins, the cell phone, etc. inside just before going through security. There's even more than enough room for two Eagle Creek packing cubes one for the laptop accessories, another for at least a days worth of clothes.

The material seems durable, though the zippers may be a bit flimsy. And the watertight bottom is a definite bonus.

I strongly recommend this one, though I had multiple problems purchasing it via the marketplace companies. You may save some money, but I'd recommend going straight to Pacific Design (you'll find them on the web). They're a great company to work with, and if you do experience delays will honor the lifetime guarantee promptly.

Though perhaps not the very best product. I have found a few loose seams, but overall it is a nice quality. It is large and has plenty of nice pouches.

I purchased this backpack so that I could easily bring my 17.3" laptop and all of my tools and utilities with me as I went from customer site to customer site. It worked quite well at first, but after a couple of months I noticed some of the seams coming undone. Several times I had to have the pack repaired and completely gave up on it after about a year. The fabric is very strong and has no problems with the elements, but the seams are poorly designed thus causing the entire product to fail.

I bought this product a couple months ago. Initially I was very pleased: A lot of room and pockets, fit my big 'ol laptop.

However in the past month its really started falling apart. I'll admit that I'm rough on my bag, but I bought this one expecting durability. The plastic strap clips are busting on me and the telescopic handle just popped off on me when I rolled it over an indentation.

Three weeks ago it would have gotten four or five stars (four because I'm not crazy about the sickly gray color of it). Now two, because i did get a couple months of rough use out of it, but i just expected more.

Kiva Luggage Packing Genius Compress-It Cube, Large

Kiva Luggage Packing Genius Compress-It Cube, Wasabi, LargeHaving used Eagle Creek PackIt cubes for years as well as Eagle Creek PackIt compressor bags, I was intrigued with the idea of having a compression cube and decided to give this a try. Here are my thoughts, in no particular order:

PROs:

Large capacity allows for either larger or a good number of smaller items to be put in

Lightweight

Has some sort of frame that helps a bit with keeping the shape

Nice color :-)

Compression works much like those expandable bags with zippers when the zipper is closed the height of the cube is roughly half of what it was

Unlike compressor bags items do not need to be rolled up, and no air valves can potentially be blocked

CONs (if you want to call it that):

Using it with large items leads to considerable deformation of the cube. I put a short down jacket in and while I was able to compress it OK, the cube went out of shape and became 'wavy'

Works best with items that contain a lot of air, such as down-filled items. I also tried using it with 'regular' clothing (jeans, t-shirts, fleece sweaters/jackets) and found it difficult to impossible to fully get the cube to compress. Most times I ended up with being able to close the compressing zipper only half way for fear of breaking either the fabric, or the zipper, or both.

SUMMARY:

I think this is a good product overall but it is only really useful with certain items that can be compressed well. In all other instances it just makes for a nice, spacious packing cube. I will continue to use it as a regular packing aid but in all honesty don't see it getting much use as a compression cube unless I have very specific items to pack that lend themselves well to compression.

I was excited to try this product, I currently use Eagle Creek bags. The Kiva bag was cheaper, but it was apparent when trying to zipper it up after compressing the bag...it is quite a feat to accomplish, and the zipper came apart. I reverted to my always trusty zip lock gallon bag which took me a fraction of the time I fought to work with the Kiva.

The product seems to do what Kiva says it will do and I believe it will be a great help during the packing process in being able to pack everything we will need for our 10 day vacation into a carryon.

I used these packing cubes for the first time during a 2 week business trip to China. I loved them! These made the normal daily packing and unpacking obsolete. In several cases we left our large suitcases at the hotel and took smaller bags on over night stays I simply packed what I needed in one cube and threw it into my small bag. A must for anyone traveling for an extended period of time.

Lassig Glam Backpack Diaper Bag

Lassig Glam Backpack Diaper BagPros:

1. multiple zippered pockets outside: 2 roomy zippered pockets on the front, one of which contains a cell phone pocket and a pager pocket; one small zippered pocket on the side of the bag; one vertical zippered pocket on the back; and one pocket with velcro closure on the back perfect for changing pad.

2. double handles on the top of the bag great for grabbing and go.

3. changing mat and stroller clips included.

4. Bag opens very wide, but still held together with out accidentally losing items.

5. Semi rigid structure: Stands alone but able to be squished with out destroying the bag.

Cons:

1. This exterior material looks very prone to rip.

2. The lime one has dark grey interior, making it possibly hard to find things.

3. Too few interior pockets for organization. It has 2 bottle pockets and one large mesh pocket.

There is way more room than you think, it is very comfortable to wear, and having two hands free is the best part.

Love it!. Really good quality and great amount of pockets for all those endless essentials. Impressed as i can also fit my things in there too! Only improvements would be to be able to make the rucksack straps a little shorter and another section inside to keep nappies away from everything else. Otherwise really please with it and the delivery.

Yens® Fantasybag "Cross" Laptop Mono Strap Backpack-Black, 3BP-12

Yens® Fantasybag 'Cross' Laptop Mono Strap Backpack-Black, 3BP-12Ok,

first off, $15 is a rediculously low price for a backpack (go to walmart target etc and compare...) with that said, the build quality of the bag is less than ideal, but the minimalistic nature and usability for carrying a laptop/tablet/peripherals is absolutely perfect. It fits my 14" laptop just fine along with my tablet, wireless mouse, and all charger cables. It's a great on the go bag for such a low price I'm planning on buying 2-3 bags to have them on reserve (due to the 8-12 month lifespan of the bag with regular use).

This is a great $15 bag ... if you were expecting a high build quality for $15, you need to rethink before you write a bad review.

I had to sew one seam together already, but then the main compartment zipper head came off. It would be a fine bag if it was sturdier.

STAR WARS BACKPACK BUDDIES R2-D2

STAR WARS BACKPACK BUDDIES R2-D2If you're reading this, the question you're asking isn't "Do I like Star Wars" or "Do I need a backpack" but "Is this worth buying for myself or others who love Star Wars?" The answer is yes. My girlfriend loves it as much now as when she got it months ago, and she uses it for anything light (she doesn't want to risk tearing it with heavy textbooks).
