Samsonite Luggage Pro 3 Laptop Backpack

The included laptop bag which fits into the laptop compartment of this bag WILL NOT hold my MacBook Pro 17", which I recently purchased. Nowhere in any of the literature online about this bag does it say that it will hold a 17" laptop, but the dimensions given for the laptop compartment (upon which I based my decision to purchase this bag) are incorrect. My MacBook Pro 17" measures 15.5" by 10.5" overall, so it should have fit comfortably. The attached tag does say that it fits 15.5" laptops, which is correct. Too bad someone doesn't include that information in the description of the product.

The zipper sewn into the laptop bag was sewn on in the reverse direction, so you actually have to remove the bag entirely from the backpack in order to open it up enough at one end to insert/remove the laptop.

The Velcro piece which is supposed to hold closed the rear rolling luggage extension handle pocket was not sewn on properly and came right off when I slipped my hand down into that area to see how wide it was (although that's not a real problem, just a slip-up in quality control).

The compartments are somewhat strangely configured and sized and not having a lighter, contrasting color in the small objects organizer pocket is, in my opinion, not the best choice.

Otherwise, this bag is attractive, light and seems to be very well made and sturdy, although I will not use it but rather send it back immediately.

Love the material, design, and quality. Don't like the fact that the open area from the back, that links it to other wheeled suitcases is too narrow and wouldn't let most handles go through, even those of the Samsonite luggages! The bag is a bit too heavy in general, and the fact that it's big and can carry a lot, makes it feel as if you're carrying the world on your shoulders! And finally, does't have those plastic base stands in the bottom, so it usually falls off when you put it on the floor.

Samsonite used to make a quality product, but if this bag is any indication, those days are long gone. It's asymmetrical: the stitching is so flawed that its misshape can be noted across a room. The hardware is plastic of the weakest kind: even my light-duty use managed to snap one of the strap buckles the first week. Finally, it's poorly designed; why would Samsonite put the zipper on the interior laptop bag facing in a direction that requires you to completely unzip it all around in order to extract the laptop? And the suitcase slot on the back is too thin to allow any handle through. And the pockets lack organization. I could go on, but hopefully you've gotten the picture. Poor on all fronts, this backpack is unquestionably the worst deal in the work backpack market.

The size and quality is all I expected, and more.

Have you ever bought a laptop bag that was labeled "for laptops up to 18 inches", to finally discover that your 17.5" laptop wouldn't fit? I have.

Now I have a 18"+ ASUS G74, and there are very few bags that even pretend to fit this.

I got the Everki Titan backpack today, and my laptop fits perfectly. Not only that, but I can add my smaller 17.5" laptop if I want...

Alternatively, I can also fit the bigger laptop, a tablet and my DSLR + telephoto lens + tripod.

And in either configuration, there is room to spare for power supplies, battery chargers, external hard drives, and a change of clothes if I need to use it as a carry-on bag... Which I can, because it fits well within the allowed dimensions in airplanes bins.

The build quality is also excellent: large zips (so they will not get stuck), sturdy materials, extra strappings to make sure you can carry that extra weight easily. The inside is well designed (I counted some 15 pockets of all sizes, but I may have missed some), and generously padded.

The only quips I have so far are very minor: I would have liked a few larger pockets (most of them are only large enough to put a power supply in -the brick size kind I have for my laptop), and well... aesthetically, it's not bad (mostly because the all-black exterior is discreet), but definitely looks industrial. Then again, I didn't buy this backpack for its looks.

I got the backpack when I was damn close to $200 (that's including the shipping) so I was kind of doubting my self if I ordered this backpack, but before I ever order anything i always to research.

I spend days if not weeks researching the item and if i can find something better for the price, and honestly I highly doubt you'll find another backpack that has the same quality and features as this bag dose.

Im a gamer and will always be, but I also travel quite a bit and i had always wanted a backpack that i could take on the plane/car/bus and have all my gear with me, and this backpack dose not Disappoint.

Owned many laptops and various bags over the last 20 years and this is hands down the best bag I have ever owned. I have an Asus G74S that's a beast to haul around. I run youth events, DJ, and obviously take this bag and Asus wherever I go. I'll start with the pros. Space, # of internal and external compartments, quality, padding, zippers...I love this bag. I keep my mouse, firewire converter, DV Camera, Ipad 2, and all my cables...along with pens, binder, and on the long days, drinks and snacks. On the downside...I would say none. Originally, the primary enclosure for the laptop was tight, but with use, the G74 slides in perfectly. I believe the G74 is one of the largest laptops in the market. Unlike other computers it's size, the computer case is larger than others because of the fan system that blows out the rear versus under the laptop.

Will definitely be looking for more bags from this company.

I commute 10 miles to work Monday through Friday and was tired of using a backpack that was not user friendly for a road bike. I used a Tumi, Riptide, Burton and Oakley. I became frustrated with the imbalance I was experiencing with these Knapsacks. I explored the net for bike specific backpacks without a hydration system. I needed to transport my 13 inch pc tablet, mail and papers and clothes. I first purchased the Osprey Metron and Momentum. The back of the pack feel like a wasboard and balances like one on your back. I sent them back. The other Ospreys are flimsy. I finally found the Shimano. Great backpack. The front clasp adjusts up and down. The waist belt is not flimsy. the back of the pack is padded and meshed and let my back breathe in recent 85 degree temperature. The laptop compartment in padded and protected. There is a top padded compartment that I use for spare sunglasses. The front of the pack has reflective designs and hooks for lights. The middle compartment expands to fit clothes and food. The pack does not weigh me down and cinched does not move when cornering. The shoulder straps are form fitting across the length of my shoulders and are comfortable. There are other pockets for pens, paper, and bike tools. Side pockets for extra bottles. Great product!

Comfortable pack but would have preferred the waist strap to be wider. I bought this pack to use for my running commute home from work. It would be more stable with a wider waist belt.

I love this bag, I use it as a purse. The back pack straps also zip together so you can sling it over the shoulder. The bows are hot cut so that they wont fray. The side pockets are not really useful, I don't think it's possible to fit a water bottle in them. Overall I would defiantly buy this bag again.

I bought this for me --an adult, not a kid-and the bag is great. We use it when we go on day trips (the zoo, amusement park, etc) in lieu of carrying a diaper bag. It is very spacious inside. I had a different bag that was more of a sack this bag has a squared bottom and because of the shape it is able to hold a lot of stuff. I can put a change of clothes for my daughter, wipes, diapers, all my personal affects, and our large Hershey Park souvenir cup inside this bag and still have plenty of room left over.

I got this lovely Flash Back Sack last year when I saw it at a store in a local Mall.

It is made of water resistant nylon (which is really great for people who constantly go to the Beach, like I do).

It is very strong and durable as well (I've carried many things, both heavy and light in this sack before).

The strings on the back sack are thick, making the back sack easier for the wearer.

Some back sacks are made with thinner strings, causing the strings to constantly slip off of the wearers shoulders.

The only problem I have with the back sack is that the logo is easily scratched.

I had hoped the jacket would have a little more padding, the padding it came with seems smaller than the actual case and leaves corners unprotected. The material also isn't very stretchy, nor is it neoprene. I had to carry it through a light rain and was very happy that the jacket seemed water resistant. If it was neoprene the water would have soaked in, not beaded off. It fits my 13 inch well. Overall, I am pleased with this product.

So disappointed to find out that this case does not fit certain Mac's as advertised. I bought this for an older model I use as a back-up. According to the specifications it should accommodate the following Apple computers:

Apple Macbook Air, Macbook Pro 13, Macbook 13, iBook G4 SuperDrive, MacBook Core 2 Duo 13.3 inch.

Case does not zip closed on an ibookG4. Otherwise it's a decent and pretty cool sleeve for the price. Wish the manufacturer would have been more honest and accurate saving myself and others the time and trouble to return and now shop for another.

Although this Case Logic VNCi-116 Value 16-Inch Laptop Briefcase has a "Value" word in its name, everything about it exudes high quality.

This is the the kind of case that can zipper-open three sides of its rectangular case shape; therefore it can easily accommodate my 17.3-inch HP DV7 notebook computer, even though it is meant for computers under 16 inches.

There is a large zippered side pocket that you can use to store the computer's AC adapter and cord, plus a few small items.

The case is well-padded all around to protect against bumps and is very light.

I highly recommend this 16-inch case if you want high quality and versatility but don't want to pay too much for it.

Comparison to another 16-inch case:

The Case Logic VNCi-116 design is in contrast to Case Logic VNA-216 16-Inch Laptop Attache (Black), where the zipper openning is merely ONE side of its rectangular shape. The VNA-216 will accommodate my 15.6-inch HP ProBook 5420s, but the fit is too snug for an effortless removal and storage of the computer. Because of the tight fit of this case, I would be very careful when taking a computer out of the case and when putting it in, for fear of the zippers scraping against the case edges of the computer. I ordered this Caselogic laptop case based on my prior experiences with Caselogic products and the price. I have had several other Caselogic cases over the years and have always been extremely pleased with the quality. Since I don't travel with my laptop that often, I didn't want to invest a lot of money on a case. I just wanted something to carry it safely on those few occasions when I do take it along on a trip. What I like about this case is that it is light weight and has extra compartments for storage, and it looks great. However, I was very disappointed with the lack of padding in the laptop compartment, and it only had one strap to hold the laptop in place, which was not centered. While my 15.6" Dell fits fine, it does wiggle around a little since it's only held in place by one velcro strap. The listing for the item said the laptop compartment was "heavily padded". This is not true. The padding is extremely thin. While the case will serve its purpose and give me a way to carry my laptop, I really wish there was more padding. If you want a laptop case that will actually protect the laptop, this is not the case for you. If you just want something stylish to carry your laptop around, this one is ok.

A few years ago I purchased another bag to carry my laptop...and my books...and electronic gizmos...and my files...and my lunch. It felt like I was toting a library. Since then I've learned to travel light. This Case Logic VNCi-116 is a real buy. The laptop "pocket" is zippered around three sides. There is an internal strap (velcro) to secure the laptop. There's another zippered space for files, pens, cell phone, e-reader. I've not been disappointed.

The only thing I wish it had was an un-zippered pocket. The photo looks like it might have one, but that line of piping is only style. An un-zippered pocket might be good for things you might need to get to quickly...like a ringing cell phone. Some have claimed there isn't enough padding. Well, that may be true if you want to clobber somebody with it. It is adequate and protective enough for active everyday us.

I haul around a lot of books (I'm not an e-book person) as well as a small lap top, and I take my kids all around New York City, so traveling with a compact, super-small back pack is a must in order to stay mobile and limber. This compact pack is the best I've ever found. It's incredibly economical and ergonomic in terms of space but it is also surprisingly roomy. The secret to the design is: 1) A total absence of superfluous pockets -most of which you never need anyway, and won't likely miss. There is just one main pocket and one small front pocket (with a nice clip to which I attach a flash drive). 2) The bag has no padding whatever. This is fine if you're just hauling around lunch or a spare jacket. But if you carry a laptop or tablet you will need to place it in a case or sleeve of your own -and it will have to be a really sleek, form-fitting case or you'll end up consuming all the room in the main pocket. I have an 11-inch Mac Airbook which I place in a snug sleeve and it fits beautifully in this bag. Amazingly, I can also load in books, a power adapter, and some other sundries with no problem at all. But beware: the absence of padding also means that this bag is not very water proof in the rain. For safety I carry a little plastic bag inside just in case I need to wrap items to protect them in the rain (and it takes up no space at all). Lest any of this sound like a hassle, it's not. It's just what you need to do if you want a really small, tidy bag in which you can lug all your stuff. This one is the best I've found.

Light weight, no-frills and reasonable durability: this pack will carry a water bottle, a light wind/waterproof, a bar, and your (light) descent shoes. It also doubles as a minimalistic dayhike pack. It is very stable on the back, with minimal waist and shoulder straps, and could be clipped below you easily for squeezes. Many packs for this purpose are too complicated and heavy. My only tiny criticism is that the outer pocket zipper (key pocket?) should open upwards so that it won't open if dragged against rock. Excellent value.

I backpack 60+ nights per year. I loop a day pack over my main backpack so I can separate it for wandering away from base camp. This one is lightweight, well made and simple. Inland Pro 15.6-Inch Notebook Bag, Black (02438)

The case has plenty of room for a 15.6" laptop. It's compact like neoprene laptop sleeves, but additionally has a nice handle. (It also doesn't smell like neoprene, which is fortunate.) It has a small zippered pocket to fit the power cord.

I purchased this bag for a spare laptop that I use for vacation travel. It works for everything that I need. It seems to be well padded and I have not had any problems.

This case has two strong points:

+ It's unassuming and perhaps less likely to invite theft. I could see using it instead of a "sleeve" when pulling my laptop out of my backpack through airport security.

+ It doesn't have any frills, which help keep down bulk and weight (I don't need a charger pocket for my short cafe trips). Even the handle is unpadded, thin nylon webbing.

It only has one serious negative:

DANG could you possibly make it any "cheaper" looking? Or cheaper feeling, with the flimsy (but adequately strong and secure) handles?

Although if I had a choice between an overbuilt Targus etc. bag and this one, I guess I'd still stick with this one. My present use is just a way to carry a larger laptop (15.6") to a cafe when I don't want to move all my stuff out of my smaller, every day carry, bike messenger bag to a daypack with a 15.6" laptop slot. I sure don't want to be carrying my laptop under my arm, looking for a way to slip out and destroy itself, so for quick and dirty trips to the cafe, this Inland Pro is perfect. Even a shoulder strap would be too much, handles are enough for this purpose.

If you want to know where my source of dissatisfaction comes from, go to an Apple Store and check out the Incase "Sling" line of very minimalist cases for the Macbook Pro series. Those fit SNUG and look SHARP. The handles are padded, but efficiently slim, and hide away in clever little slots if you want to use this as a "case" and not mini-attache (they even include shoulder straps).

So why didn't I spend the extra 35 bucks or so to get one of the Incase CL57715 Nylon Sling Sleeve for MacBook Pro 13", Black for my laptop?

Well Incase doesn't make a line for 15.6" Windows laptops, perhaps because in the Windows world even laptops with the same screen size can vary quite a bit in thickness, depth, and width (that probably explains the "loose" fit on this Inland Pro on my 15.6" Windows laptop). A 15" InCase Sling definitely won't fit my 15.6" laptop, nor will any of the neoprene sleeves, Chrome messenger bag sleeves, or other nifty 15" Macbook sleeves that I have tried to date.

So at least this Inland Pro I bought fits more like a sleeve and less that a slightly oversize, floppy bag, right?

NOPE, it has about 1.5 inches of left to right slack and almost 2" of top and bottom slack with my current design (AMD Fusion E300 powered) Compaq 15.6" laptop. The Compaq is slightly thinner than a 3 year old 15.6" laptop I also have (but MUCH lighter) but still that much slack on each side is disappointing, and means the laptop won't fit in a 15.6" daypack/travel pack laptop slot IF the Inland Pro case is on it. Which forces me to use a daypack/travel pack with a 17.3" slot, or to dump the laptop in the Inland Pro into the main compartment, where it won't ride "suspended" by the neat suspension laptop slot that newer packs come with (much better against "setdown" shocks).

In short, this is one of those products where you will have to make one of three choices: wait to see it in person to see if it fits snugly enough for you to use as a case (or loosely enough to stuff in a charger); order with a 50-50 risk of returning it for being "not as expected," or just order it, keep it, and find SOME use for it (if only to keep dust off your laptop). YMMV, since your laptop size (in the Windows world) probably DOES vary.

BTW, Inland Pro materials quality, from a functional but not appearance standpoint, is first-rate; and finish (quality of sewing etc.) is also first rate. This just won't win any design awards or dazzle with it's clever minimalism. This is _cheap_ minimalism!

This is a really basic laptop bag, but if you are looking for a good value, this is it. It does have some padding and fits my 15.6 inch screen nicely. Best deal I could find for a laptop bag out there.

Now for $9.00 I was not having any high standards, but this product is exactly what I needed, nothing too bulky or material heavy, the design is perfect, and seems very durable. Would purchase another one and reccomend this item.

SOC Gear GTH III Patrol Pack

Despite the fact that a product review on this pack is non-existent and that there is not a single rating, I decided to take a gamble at the product based on Sandpiper of California's reputation in the military community. I would first like to start off by saying, WOW! As a an owner and regular user of various assault packs ranging from Propper's Arcteryx USMC ILBE's to Eagle Industries MAP packs, the GTH III is a great pack for it's price. With just a little over $100 on the price tag, Sandpiper of California incorporated double-stitched MOLLE webbing, military-grade ITW Nexus Fastex buckles, Licensed Crye Multicam fabric and pattern, and internal organization pocket slots. Double-stitched molle is placed on the front of the pack, sides, and underneath to further expand the load bearing capabilities by adding modular pouches and other MOLLE attachments of sorts. The GTH III also incorporates a dedicated, padded laptop/tablet pouch that can be secured by a single strap and buckle (Very secure, I would not have any worries stuffing a $800 iPad 2 or a 15' laptop for daily carry). And before I forget to mention, the backing is also lined with some kind of polymer that keeps it from losing shape when the pack is overstuffed, making for a more comfortable carry for it's user. There is also a dedicated slot within the backpack for hydration packs, and such. Offering 1,800 cubic inches of storage, you can sustain yourself for a few good days on a trip, but you won't have a problem with it fitting in the overhead compartment on most medium sized airliners. On top of all of this, there is also a Velcro mounting strip on the front for ID and IFF use. Personally, I love the pack for it's simplicity, look, and functionality all for such a cheap price. This pack is following me to Tennessee, Washington D.C., overseas to Paris and Rome, and then through the military over the course of 2012. If I find any issues with the pack, this review will be altered then! Which I won't be expecting to do anytime soon. Great pack, you won't regret your purchase!

This is my second SOC bag. I have nothing but good things to say about SOC. My first bag I have had for a year and I've used it extensively and it still looks brand new and no tears. This SOC bag I have packed it full with no more room available and it never feels like it will break or tear apart. The material is solid and feels solid, not cheap. You can use this as an everyday bag or on a 3 day trip. I was able to put everything I needed for a 3 day trip. Filled up it still feels comfortable to wear. Would recommend for anyone looking for a solid pack made in america!

Lalaloopsy Crumbs I'm Sew Cute Backpack

My six year old chose this backpack for school and she loves it. We haven't had any issues with tears or rips. It only has the two large pockets, but for first grade she doesn't need any more than that. It's a full size backpack too so even if they decide to get a new one this year, it could double as an overnight bag!

Was looking for something to carry my ipad and all my other stuff with my 2 year old so needed my hands free, this works perfect. The ipad is a tight fit but fits the straps are comfortable on my back,and can shop or walk the mall easily.

Great quality for the price and it has several different pockets of different sizes for all my nerds. My iPad fits perfectly, which was my biggest concern.

When I got this I wasn't impressed with the stiching design on it, I would have preferred no design however it would serve its purpose as a backpack purse while dealing with 3 kids out and about with a diaper bag too. The worst part was after only 2 months of use, the strap broke and is not able to be fixed. Without the strap it is useless and I would not recommend it. Spend a little more and get a little more.
