I use this as a diaper bag for my newborn.

Its pretty big, I can put 6 diapers, one pack of wipes(60ct), two spare onesies, toys, bibs, and an Ergo performance baby carrier with infant insert)

Spill milk one time inside the bag, and I just use wet towel to wipe it, and it seems pretty clean and no smell...

BUILT Neoprene Sleeve for 15-inch MacBook Pro, Mini Dot Navy

BUILT Neoprene Sleeve for 15-inch MacBook Pro, Mini Dot NavyBought this laptop sleeve for my 15" MacBook Pro and it's worked out great! I really like the curvy shape, neoprene fabric (don't have to worry about carrying my laptop in the rain!), and fleecy material inside. Occasionally the zipper gets stuck but it doesn't appear to be a big deal. Great purchase!

Cute color. Love the neoprene, has nice fuzzy layer inside. Fits my macbook pro well. I would highly recommend this product.

Deuter Giga Office Day Pack

Deuter Giga Office Pack: Anthracite/BlackI work out of this backpack on film sets and am often carrying heavy and diverse loads including my laptop, paperwork, cameras, etc.

After looking at backpacks online and in shops for weeks, I picked this one and haven't been disappointed.

The reasons I bought this over other laptop backpacks:

great, super defensive laptop compartment that fits pretty much any laptop (I use a 15.4" Macbook Pro will fit 17" laptops as well)

two water bottle/misc pockets

two compression straps on each side

heavy duty zippers (I would be shocked if they break!)

extremely comfortable shoulder straps and good load management. All around solid construction.

a variety of internal organization

That said, this is not my all-purpose travel backpack. For that, I use a pack that has a little more raw capacity. This is more compartmentalized and work-oriented than I generally prefer for weekend trips sans laptop. Plus, I don't want to beat it up in plain old transit I want to keep this thing around for work for a while to come!

Recommended.

I use this backpack for my job as a home health nurse, and I LOVE it! I bought it to replace the AWFUL roller bag that is standard issue in my company because I quickly got tired of trying to steer the roller bag.

The Giga Office has all the pockets I need! One for my laptop and a folder for a few papers I most commonly need, one for not often used and/or clean medical supplies, one for frequently used supplies (blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, etc, and even a little pocket for me to stash my keys, wallet, and pens when I go in to see a patient! Plus the mesh pockets on the side are perfect! I have my CPR mask kit in one and a pump bottle of hand sanitizer in the other!

It's a great bag. Definitely durable and really comfortable to wear with nicely padded straps! I highly recommend it.

Exterior bag is a bit small, but mildly water-proof and is very useful for packing raincoats. The notebook segment provides excellent protection. Feels light on the shoulder, and cool on the back with the frame. Additional pocket inside keeps document from wriggling. Hand-carry holder at the top is cleverly designed so that it doesn't deform the bag. Excellent overall.

This backpack is very good. Its a little bit expensive, but the price reflects its quality. It has many compartments including one for laptop which offers a lot of protection. It isn't the lightest backpack out there but that's because it is made out of good material. Its practical for school, office, and traveling. I believe this backpack will last for a very long time!

Want Deuter Giga Office Day Pack Discount?

I have been using this backpack at work for a few years now and I love it. I use it almost every day for EDC (Every Day Carry) use. This is a great mobile office bag and does exactly what it says, it's a giga-office! I found this gem at a backpacking / hiking store and needed something specifically for work. I am so glad I found it, the great thing is that when I have my suff in it it stands upright without falling over. I have taken this pack as my 2nd carry-on on many airplane flights. I am sometimes in the office, in a factory or out on the road.

My only complaint is the smallest pocket does not zip down all the way to access some of the flaps and other pockets which can be difficult to reach. They should make the zippers an inch or two longer on the sides of the small compartment. I still give it 5 stars becuase I have another backpack that unzips fully, and then all your stuff falls out! The zippers work great and are very smooth, snag-freee and have "storm flaps" that cover them. When using in hot weather, the venting works pretty good. The fabric seems tough and medium duty. This is a high quality bag for the price, I have seen many in the same price range that are not as good or not very well made. I own 4-5 backpacks for various activities and this one works awesome for the office. This is a great backpack for everyday use in an urban / office envirenment.

Samsonite Wheeled Backpack

Samsonite Wheeled Backpack, Black/Charcoal, One SizeThe material is sturdy and the color was truly how it looked on Amazon; however, Samsonite needs to take a couple of lesson from Jansport on how to build an adequate wheeled backpack, especially for students who intend to use it everyday. My 2 complaints are as follows: one, the traction on the wheels needs improvement. The backpack makes alot of noise when rolled and it is not a smooth glide as I had with my trusty Jansport and two, there should be one large compartment instead of one medium and one small. I wish that Jansport still made there wheeled backpacks like they use too...oh well....

Whoops! Samsonite's warehouse sent me the wrong color at first. To make matters worse, they sent me the girly purple color they had been trying to sell for cheaper than my color.

Amazon recommended that I start by calling Samsonite's customer service. I did, and of course they helpfully suggested that I call Amazon. But I stayed on and explained my situation, and they located the mistake in their own records and apologized for sending the wrong thing.

Unfortunately, this first call resulted in being promised a replacement that never got shipped, and being promised a confirmation e-mail of the return that never got sent. And after a week of waiting, I got an e-mail that was worded as if the first call to Samsonite had never happened, telling me that this is Amazon's problem to take care of.

I e-mailed them back with a detailed explanation of all the (mis)communication that had taken place so far and they apologized for putting me through the run-around, sent the correct one, and most importantly, promised to streamline their communication with Amazon.

Overall everyone was very friendly on the phone, I am happy with my product now. No more hassle to go through now.

--------------

About the bag itself:

I use the bag to carry a heavy laptop and school materials to and around campus and it's definitely up to the task.

It seems durable and well made; nothing's out of whack so far even though I've used it a lot. I got to try two of them, and there weren't any obvious manufacturing differences so quality control seems to be ok.

The backpack is indeed a little noisy over cobblestone and sidewalk cracks, but completely silent at all other times.

The handle only has one length setting and I'm not so sure about that. I was surprised it's not longer; I'm very short and it seems just the right height for me.

When you're picking up the backpack for a curb or stairway, you have to bend down and pick it up by the strap; you cannot safely pick it up by the metal handle. I can tell it's not strong enough for that. The handle's clearly designed to only take force in one direction; putting any diagonal force on it tends to tweak it out of where it's attached. Secondly, it's designed for an amount of force equal to pulling the backpack while it's on the ground, not pulling the whole weight of the full backpack into the air. If you're buying this for a kid, of course they're going to yank it by handle anyway, so it won't last as long.

I found the straps to be adequate even though they're not as padded as you'd get out of a regular backpack.

For going up several flights of stairs you may want to switch to the straps, but this is hindered a bit by how the zippers for uncovering the straps get caught. Since I was able to try out two of these backpacks, I can say that both of them had this problem with that zipper. I learned that the problem is not the zipper itself; it's actually getting caught in a triangular flap where the straps mount. This is sort of a design flaw. To get around it, you have to pull the zipper an inch up and then down again until it gets past that point and lets the straps come fully out.

---------

About the "rolling backpack experience" in general:

I was actually slightly underwhelmed with the savings in physical effort required by a rolling backpack vs. a normal one. It's not effortless; you do have to hold your arm and shoulder in an unnatural position and apply a bit of constant force (on anything but a downhill), which could lead to the same type of shoulder strain / repetitive stress soreness of regular backpacks, which I was trying to get away from. Just less of it, maybe.

Also, whenever you get to any sort of curb or stairway (which turn out to be much more common than you would notice with a regular backpack), you usually have to bend down to pick the full weight of the backpack up (if you try to skip this step in a hurry, you risk the wheels skipping off the ground, spinning the backpack around until you fix it). Bending down and picking it up by your arm strains the back moreso than if you just carried a regular backpack up the same stairs, where the weight would be properly placed over your center of gravity.

The real benefit of the rolling packpacks, then, comes not from reduced strain but from the added amount of stuff you can carry around. Although it's still a strain rolling one of these around all day, you don't really feel much difference if it's full of heavy stuff or nearly empty; that weight is pressing down on the ground, not you! Practically speaking, this means that I can comfortably carry around my laptop, textbooks, notebook, water bottle, and a jacket all the way to and across campus, whereas with a normal backpack I could only comfortably carry the notebook without getting sore shoulders afterwards.

In conclusion, the benefit of this backpack comes not necessarily from savings in effort, but from the increased utility of being able to carry around however much you want. If you find yourself having to forego bringing certain things with you because you have a back back and are worried about having to lug it around, then this backpack is for you.

I should mention that you might stand out more with a rolling backpack at school if you're the only one with one. If you don't want that sort of attention, think about that too. Also, there are things such as "tripping people" that you suddenly have to think about, when you wouldn't with a normal backpack.

Buy Samsonite Wheeled Backpack Now

The quality of the wheeled backpack is good. However, the design has some deficiencies that make it harder to use then necessary. 1. The main pouch where the PC goes is slanted down so far that it is hard to get PCs out of the back pack at the airport unless the bag is nearly empty. 2. The cloth handle at the top of the bag (for hand carry) is too far forward making it difficult to use the handle to connect it to luggage so you can pull it behind the luggage (the weight isn't distributed well enough that the bag will flip/roll frequently). 3. One of the front pockets only has one zipper. This makes it take longer to zip close as you have to zip it close clear to the bottom of the bag. If I had it to do over, I would not purchase this bag.

This would be a great product if a very gentle adult were to use this. My 11 year old seemed to be able to destroy it within 2 weeks. One of the plastic bound areas by a wheel popped out the two rivits and the zipper couldn't hold up to the crazy number of books that students (even in Elem. school) must tote around to classes. He is on his second one, that I had to purchase because the repair policy puts the nearest repair center at over 25 miles away AND the return policy is non-existent. I emailed to ask what I could do and only received a form letter response telling me to go the web site (which is where I found the prior information). I DID get a message on my phone about 5 days after REVIEWING their product on Amazon. I chose not to answer or call back. I am a 'too little, too late' type of person. If the seccond Samsonite Med. Wheeled Backpack holds up, that's great. It has so far (about one month) but I am not impressed with the customer services that they offer. Personally, I would've given only 1 star if the 2nd backpack hadn't held up so long. Maybe it is just bad luck on my behalf or even my 11 year old but the customer service was horrible, regardless of how the damage occurred. I really just wanted a repair place near my home to have it fixed myself. I am NOT driving 25 miles just to have someone tell me that my son damaged it. I was happy driving 3 and paying for the repair myself!!!

Incase - Alloy Messenger Bag in Steele

Incase - Alloy Messenger Bag in SteeleSuper roomy without being TOO big. Lightweight, bag itself weighs almost nothing. Soft area for a laptop up to about 15" screen size, plus nearby slot for any sized tablet (or magazine/book). I have no issue with the strap lock that the other reviewer mentioned, but I do use a macbook air : )

I picked this up because I wanted a smaller messenger bag than my Manhattan Portage bag. As well as something more stylish.

The bag does look really great. The little hoods on the flap snaps are reflective as well.

However there is a major flaw with the bag that makes it annoying to use. There is a cam lock on the left side of the bag to adjust the height of the bag.

IT simply doesn't work. The bag will seem like it's staying put, but if you actually have a laptop in the laptop pocket, it will pull free of the cam lock and suddenly the bag is riding about a foot lower! The 2nd reason why this sucks is that it's on the LEFT side, so when you wear the bag over you right shoulder you have to reach completely around the bag to adjust it. If it was in the left side it would be right at hand.

For a day to day light bag this is fine, but as a laptop bag keep looking.

SwissGear 15.6-Inch Cobalt Notebook Backpack

SwissGear 15.6-Inch Cobalt Notebook BackpackThis is a very nice and surprisingly light and comfortable backpack. It securely and safely carries my HP TouchSmart tx series notebook (12 inch) with room to spare but tight enough and padded enough to prevent the notebook from moving during transit.

The only downside of the Cobalt is the pocket configurations. It has one large main area with a padded area for a laptop. This compartment is great and needs to be it's the reason to buy this kind of a bag.

Next up from the center is a tall / wide zippered area without much depth. This goes the height of the pack and is handy for larger items you might want to throw in there. This would have been a good document pocket if it had a mesh area or other device to prevent papers from being crushed. It does have a pocket that can hold accessories or thin devices such as a Kindle (though it will move from side to side so a case or cover should be used).

There's a small pocket at the top of the back with no subdivisions. This is good for miscellaneous items such as identification that don't need any padding but should be easy to access.

Finally, the lower pouch has the standard SwissGear notebook carrier accessory comparment which is good for things like business cards, screen cleaning materials, etc. There are a lot of very thin very shallow pockets here. It's hard to access items in these pockets and I would have preferred fewer, wider pockets.

Exterior features:

Two mesh bottle holders on either side

Four loops on the lower pocket designed to catch branches as you walk by, carry carrots, or provide a spot to tie a rope to your pack so you can drag Gollum behind you. Honestly, I have no idea what these are for but they look like you can do something with them.

Overall: Perfect comfort and safety, great quality and style, but pocket configurations don't have the same level of perfection.

I needed a light weight, non-bulky, and stylish backpack to carry my 13" laptop, books, and computer accessories. The SwissGear Cobalt backpack met all my requirements and more. It is a great looking backpack, very light, and stocked with packets galore.

The main compartment consists of a roomy area for large books and binders. Within the main compartment, there is a sleeve for a 15.6" laptop. Even with the laptop in tow, there is still plenty of room for books and binders. Also the main compartment has a stiff padded bottom cardboard so that the bottom does not sag with the weight of books. It also prevents the backpack from tipping over when placed on the floor. The padded cardboard can be folded away so that the backpack can be stored when empty. This is a great feature.

Then it has compartments! The second large compartment is not as roomy as the main compartment. It was designed to carry a 2" 3-ring binder or a slim book. Within the second large compartment, there is a pocket for thin paper items such as envelopes.

At the top, by the red cross emblem, it has a quick access zippered compartment for a cell phone, wallet, money, passport, sunglasses, etc. The bottom zippered compartment has small pockets for pens, business cards, and other small items. Within this compartment, another zippered compartment is available about the size of the compartment by the red cross emblem.

Carrying this backpack fully loaded is extremely comfortable. The straps and the backside are so well padded that it is a joy to go places with it.

The blue material is darker than what is shown on the picture. It has a slight sheen, which makes the backpack look elegant.

Good protection, comfortable, lots of pockets; everything you want in a computer backpack. I use it for my 13" Macbook pro and the laptop still fits in the backpack pocket even if I leave the neoprene case on the computer. It seems very sturdy and looks nice too.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he really likes it. He wanted a comfortable, durable backpack to carry his laptop in to work everyday, and this fits the bill.

It's well made with several pockets and compartments, and really protects his computer. The design and cobalt color gives this backpack a grown-up look, so it doesn't look like you're borrowing your kid's book bag.

It was much more affordable on amazon than at our local office supply stores, and the vendor I bought it from was excellent.

Targus Terra 16" Laptop Backpack

Targus Terra Backpack Designed for 16-Inch Laptops - TSB226USObviously, I love this bag! I have a 15.6 inch Toshiba Satellite. My laptop fits perfectly in the bag. There is an elastic strap with velcro to hold the computer in, so it can't accidentally fall out when you are removing it, or packing it. There are a ton of compartments for the laptop accessories. I think if I filled them all up, I probably couldn't carry the bag.

Maybe you could, I'm just saying there is a bunch of room in this bag. There is a place to put an MP3 player or ipod and a spot for your headphones near the top of the bag. There are compartments on the outside of the bag for water bottle or whatever, and there are straps and hangers all over the place.

The body of the bag is nicely padded and so are the over the shoulder straps. There is also a padded carrying handle at the top of the bag. The bag seems to be very well thought out and very well made, and I would recommend it to anyone needing a great bag for their laptop.

Targus Terra Backpack was primarily designed for laptops, but I am using it for something else and it works perfectly for me. I love to draw and watercolor and I wanted a backpack to take on the trails to be able to hold my sketchbooks, watercolor paper, pencils, brushes and so on. It can easily carry paper up to 15L x 12W. This one works great for me! It even has pen holders I use for my brushes. I am able to put my paper, pencils, erasers, brushes, paint and even a bottle of water for my dry watercolors and tubes to wash things lighter, as well as my watercolor tubes box and a pastels box among other stuff. Also another holder for my bottled water to drink. There are so many pockets, I am able to use them to store various things. I now have a compact art studio!

What I love is this backpack is comfortable and I mean very comfortable! I have several backpacks and none feel as good as this one on carrying stuff. The heavy padding really helps cushion it all and it feels as though I am not carrying anything. The adjustable straps can adjust to any body size and the sturdy material will hold up well in all kinds of weather. I can honestly say this is the best backpack I have ever had or seen. I just wanted you to know though that you don't have to have a laptop to use this backpack. It can be used for many other things too. I am also able to pack a sack lunch and still have room in this roomy backpack for it to fit. The best backpack out there in my opinion!

Buy Targus Terra 16" Laptop Backpack Now

Targus is known for making sturdy backpacks for an inexpensive price that will outlast most of the other brands. We have bought two of these Targus backpacks since 2004. I can tell you firsthand that the only problem we have ever had are with the zippers. The first backpack we bought in 2004 had a zipper which came off track after wear when it was 10 months old. I contacted Targus at their website, as they have a limited lifetime warranty and they sent us a new backpack, even after 10 months! Who does that? Other than the zipper issue, the nylon backpacks wear like iron. We get about 3 years use out of each backpak, which is tremendous as one or two years is normal.

It seems as though every time we buy a new Targus backpack, the improvements are really great. This new design is super light weight, yet well padded on the bottom, back, and surrounding the laptop compartment. The interior has 3 main zipper compartments. The first and largest compartment is divided into 2the well padded side for the laptop and the other really large side will hold the biggest, heaviest books you can fit. I'm talking up to 15 pounds of books and you don't get a shoulder or back ache. There is also a large net pocket and a place for a phone and ipod pockets with a hole to run your headphone wire through to the outside. Super convenient.

The second zippered compartment is almost as large where you can also pack heavy books into, as well as it has, small pockets for cards, phone, digital camera, mouse, pens and a larger pocket also for things like paper or tablets. There is also a key clip for your keys. The last outside pocket is good sized also. This will fit lighter things, as it is not as well padded for heavy items. You can hold a water bottle on each side as well. For really bad weather, which seems to be the norm these days, on the bottom is a compartment which holds a complete cover for rain or snowgreat extra protection from the wet elements. Besides the heavy duty shoulder straps, they made a carry handle at the top which has extra padding.

You get a lot for your money with a Targus backpack. The old designs have those zippered compartments getting smaller and smaller and sticking out far from your back. This new design stays close to you with 3 main large compartments which hold a lot of little interior pockets, just like a good piece of luggage. This spacious backpack is very lightweight, yet holds 1520 pounds with no problem. The super padding really protects your laptop, as well as your back and shoulders. The limited lifetime warranty is also great, because in case of any defects, Targus makes sure you get your money's worth.

I had two of these (the second was a replacement from Amazon). The first lasted one month. The second, six months, and only because I was extra careful. It is a good looking backpack, but with serious design issues in my opinion. Both ragged at the same point -at the top, right above the front socket. The polyester of that section seems different than the material in the rest of the backpack. I think it is too thin to endure normal college use, not to mention the tension due to the weight of a 16 inch laptop or some books. I even think that the reason why the second backpack lasted "so long" was because I started to leave my laptop at home, but it is not what you are supposed to do if you buy a backpack allegedly designed for laptops.

Want Targus Terra 16" Laptop Backpack Discount?

I've waited a few months since I got this backpack to see how it would hold up. It's not doing so well.

This pack looks like it's designed to carry big, heavy laptops. It has plenty of space for them, but the straps and material aren't reinforced well enough to support the weight for very long. I've had it for less than six months, and I'm carrying a smaller (13") laptop in it, and the straps are starting to rip. It won't last much longer before I'll be scared to carry my expensive piece of technology in it.

If they're going to make space for a big heavy laptop, they need to make straps for its weight as well, and they haven't done so here.

Sumo 12" Nylon Sleeve

Mobile Edge Sumo 12' Black Nylon Laptop SleeveI've been struggling to find a good sleeve for an Acer Aspire 751 (netbook with an odd-sized screen). This is the perfect width, but a bit too deep, even with an extended battery fitted. Anyhow, it is a good compromise and better than anything else I've found. Only gets 4 stars since it's a bit 'puffy' and you end up with a very fat, but nicely protected, laptop. If the flap was made out of a thinner material, it would have got 5 stars, but as it is the top is very, very fat because you get three layers of puffyness (front of the sleeve, back of the sleeve, and the puffy flap). Still recommended though. Edit: there is a rectangular padded strip just inside the top and if you fold this inwards as far as possible the closed sleeve is quite a bit thinner so now I'm very happy (have changed it to 5 stars).

It's a functional bag, my Dell D400 fits very nicely. Unfortunately the bag is rather bulky and could have been designed better, like a more fitting sleeve that doesn't take up as much room in a backpack. Then again, for 10 dollars, I cannot complain too much. 3/5 stars

The sleeve itself is good. Seems durable and protective. However, I have an hp tx1000 laptop, which fits within the dimensions stated for this sleeve, and it barely fits in. At first it was a huge struggle to get the notebook in or out. the sleeve is stretching out a little over time, so it's usable now, but still, if you have an hp tx1000, don't buy this.

This is a great laptop sleeve. While a little bulky, it keeps my laptop nice and cozy, and protects it well with thick lining. I especially like the corduroy "hood" that fits over the top of the laptop before closing it with the flap. And it's cute, which doesn't hurt. Very nice overall.

BBP Bags - Industries Backpack

BBP Bags - Industries Backpack Black MediumI've had this bag since Christmas and it's served me well for everyday and travel use. I don't have back fatigue like I've had with courier or other backpack style bags. The laptop compartment can accomodate a laptop plus an iPad and the outer compartment can hold my t shirts, an audio interface and all of my cables. There's plenty of pockets to store miscellaneous items. The two side pockets double as water pocket and zip-able compartments. Very handy for last minute grabs of keys, wallet and all the other things I forget on the way out the door.

I like this bag a lot. I'm a high school senior, and unfortunately it doesn't have enough pockets for most of my stuff. It has the laptop pocket, but not enough space to put a charging cord. It has a books pocket, but it's hard to fit two to three textbooks, plus papers and a binder. There's not really anywhere for a brown bag sized lunch, which is a bummer. Still, the construction so far is top notch. It's very cool looking, and I like that. The metal zippers are a great touch, and all the materials feel high quality. The laptop portion is great for a smaller computer, 15" and smaller, but not much in terms of cable management. Overall, for $30, I think this is a good choice for a slim, quick, bag that gets the job done, if you don't have that much to carry.

The straps are a little small and the water bottle holders need to be redesigned. When a laptop and books are in the bag the bottle holders are almost useless. Other than those 2 things this is a great bag.

This is the best backpack I have ever owned. The two best qualities are the myriad number of pockets and how comfortable it is to carry. I walk a lot throughout the week while carrying my backpack, and I rarely feel any soreness in my back or neck. I usually don't even notice that I am carrying it. In addition, if you want to ensure that your backpack stays dry in the rain I also suggest buying the Camelbak Raincover. Camelbak Raincovers for Hydration System , Size: Sm/Md 60113

You can look up my review of the STM Revolution bag here on Amazon, I got it as a replacement for my Evolution bag which finally split wide open after about four years of VERY heavy use. RIP Evolution, you will be sorely missed. The Revolution (newer design of the Evolution) is a fine bag in many regards but not even close to being a replacement for the Evolution. For my intended purpose, it's a horrible bag and I was left hunting for a replacement.

I went through several bags (thanks to Amazon Prime, I got to try them out risk free with two day shipping and hassle free returns) including the Timbuk2 Zeitgeist, Timbuk2 Q, Incase Campus and a few others I can't remember. Again, these bags had their pros and cons but none of them fit the void left by the venerable STM Evolution. After much Googling on the subject, I found a site that mentioned BBP Bags, a company I had previously never heard of but got some pretty serious praise from those who had bought their bags.

BBP makes mostly messenger and convertible bags, I think the Industries Backpack might be their only backpack. Out of the box, the first thing I noticed is that it's built like a tank. Not in the sense that it's heavy, bulky or overbuilt but just that it's made from materials that mean business, has chunky zipper pulls, fully taped and sewn seams, all the hallmarks of a bag designed to be carried every single day. It's got a great selection of compartments, TWO water bottle pouches (you hear that Timbuk2, Incase, STM and others?!?!?), high contrast white lining so you can find your stuff in poor lighting, well padded interior (more on that in a moment) and comfortable straps. Lastly, it's a seriously understated bag with a clean, industrial design. You won't grab unnecessary attention carrying this bag, no one is going to identify you as someone who might be carrying $5,000 worth of electronics on your back.

I do have a couple complaints:

The padding in the bottom of the laptop compartment is far from sufficient. I supplemented with a high-density foam pad I had been using in my STM bag so it's all good in my hood, but less MacGuyver-y folks may not be happy with the drop protection.

The shoulder straps aren't the most comfortable one's I've had. This is one area where Timbuk2 bags really stand out, and other bag makers need to rip off their strap design. BBP's sternum strap is great, but would be nice if it had some elastic to it like the STM does. I might actually swap them, now that I think of it.

Because of the way the zipper seams are sewn and taped, it can make it hard to open and close the zippers. This is seriously critical gripe, and some folks are rolling their eyes right now, but I'm in and out of my bag so many times a day that it does amount to a meaningful annoyance. This is one of the ways in which the STM stood out but I have to give BBP props for using a MUCH more durable design. I had to refuse the zippers on my STM twice in four years because they pulled away from the bag material.

So would I recommend the BBP? Would I buy it again? Absolutely on both counts, assuming I couldn't find an STM Evolution on eBay or Craigslist :-)

[UPDATE 3/25/13]

I managed to find a used STM Evolution bag, and not a moment too soon because the top handle on my BBP bag has started to disintegrate. More specifically, the synthetic leather material that's wrapped around the top handle has started falling apart, which makes the bag look kind of cheap.

I also had a zipper pull break, but BBP replaced it immediately. Their customer service was excellent.

The rest of the bag has held up fine. Ultimately I've got no regrets, but it's not my absolute ultimate bag (sorry, STM still takes that cake).

Wildkin Owls Macropak Backpack

Wildkin Owls Macropak BackpackMy daughter loves the owls and wanted an owl backpack for school. This is definitely cute but not holding up. It started falling apart after just a week. She likes the way it looks and wants to keep using it. So now the tie on the side pouch has come unravelled beyond repair and I need to stitch a handle to the bag.

Big and spaciousit has room for all my daughters books and her jacket. Really cute backpack for girls of all ages. The price was right too.

Kensington Contour Traveler Notebook Backpack with Lumbar Support K62432US

Kensington Contour Traveler Notebook Backpack with Lumbar Support K62432USI received this bag in late January, and have used it three times since then. Unfortunately, while I like the look and overall design of the bag, there is a substantial design defect with respect to the back straps. The lower anchor points for both straps have torn completely away. The straps are sewn into material that could never be expected to support the weight of a bag carrying any normal laptop, destroying the utility of what might have been a rather nice bag.

I want this to be a better bag, because I love the design. Its weight distribution is the most comfortable I've ever found. It holds my laptop and all my gear very conveniently, and it has a nice sleek uncluttered look that works well in the office.

HOWEVER. We've had two of this exact model, and both of them have failed catastrophically within 4-6 weeks. Why? Because the straps are attached to the bag using the same technique you'd use to sew shoulder straps into a lightweight summer dress: they pass through and are incorporated into the single unreinforced seam that runs around the edge of the back panel. After the seam is sewn, the ends of the straps are trimmed off flush with the seam allowance. That's all! That's their entire method of attachment. As a result, a few weeks of moderate use is enough to rip the straps straight out of the bag, in the process leaving a gap in the back-panel seam.

Someone blundered badly while manufacturing this model. Ripped-out straps are the single commonest reason bags have to be replaced, yet Kensington has attached theirs using a non-load-bearing method that's guaranteed to fail. It's a technological breakthrough -the amazing self-destructing computer backpack!

I'm not happy. My first Kensington computer backpack was great. I used it for years. My second Kensington bag still had their basic good design, but its life was cut short because they'd cheaped out on the strap attachment clasps, and they both broke. The Contour is my third bag from them, and it's a major disappointment. I won't be buying another Kensington bag.

In a photograph, it looks simple; in person, this backpack covers all the bases and shows a certain understated ""classiness."

It has four compartments.

= The front zips down fully to give access to a range of possible items, like keys, flash drives...there's even room for a full-size portable headphone in the full pocket.

= The second compartment, just behind, zips open to a small but deep compartment for miscellaneous items that are somewhat flatter and with less width good for emergency materials.

= The main section has plenty of room for a MacBook (secured by velcro and protected by a plush lining), with an even larger space in front. Just perfect for my needs.

= Finally, there's a wide section on the bottom for pens and other smaller items.

The material is thick and quite tough, but I was surprised how relatively light it was. Given the loads it carries, the lumbar support makes it easy on your back in transit. Since it's carrying some valuable gear, the design is simple and unobtrusive you might not think there was so much expensive gear inside. I liked how it keeps bottle-holder out of sight in its own hideaway velcro slot. At $20-something, it's an exceptional value.

A caveat: If you wear your pack on one shoulder, as I do, you may find that the lower strap may tear away from the backpack. This has been noted repeatedly. I was able to remedy the problem by sewing monofilament to reinforce the strap. It's not pretty, but this fix extends the life of a pack you might otherwise have to trash. The stitching on the lower left corner is also given to tearing; a hooking needle is your only solution here,

This pack might have profited by being a bit smaller overall. If you're looking for an all-purpose pack, something like the Wenger Synergy might prove more fully versatile at twice the price. This Kensington does the job with panache and restraint a real winner (if you're willing to do the mod).

I see I am not the only one to notice that the straps are tearing off. This is a design flow and not a defect on the one that I bought. It did last me about 1 year, but if I were to chose again I would select something else (probably not Kensington).

I bought this because my previous one became tired looking. The design is no fancy and just plain but good for business use. Very solid build. I normally carry 14" laptop, AC, digital SLR camera, some gadgets and documents, it becomes pretty heavy but comfortable to ware probably due to back cushion design. I hoped a little more room in the main compartment but I'm OK. It is "Highly Recommended" notebook laptop for business use.

Other then the random horrid smell that came with it, I actually love this bag. The material on the outside is soft to the touch and has proved its waterproofing. The inside is a durable material that is unlike any backpack I have ever seen/had. It's good though.

High Sierra Airhead Mesh Backpack

This is probably a good deal on this backpack IF YOU HAVE WET CLOTHES OR GEAR TO STOW.

As mentioned the pack is made of mesh material that you can't see in the picture.

If you want the world seeing your junk or airing your stinky gym clothes this may work.

The pack has no structural integrity unless its full and offers no visual security.

Not what I had in mind.

While the picture of this item is all black it is not what you will receive. I received a red pack with a little black on the inside against your back.
