I love this laptop sleeve! It's really nice and finished on the inside, the fabric is soft and "cushy" and the design is absolutely gorgeous. Worth every penny!!!! I am using this sleeve for my Asus N43jf-a1 14" laptop. It's a tad bit larger than the laptop, which is fine. I looked all over online and in the stores for a nice sleeve, but they averaged at around $25 a pop. And it was difficult to find many options for a 14". Most were for 15.4-15.6, which I didn't want cuz I don't plan on putting the adapter or mouse in there with it. I don't want to scratch the lid :-)Oh and the free shipping with prime is great! $15.50 is a great price, almost a steal!

I purchased this for my brand new Sony Vaio 14inch laptop since I have a habit of placing my laptop anywhere. Since I bought the white coconut color I wanted something to help protect it from normal wear and tear. It fits perfectly and I have no complaints. I didn't really notice that strong of an odor when I received it. It just smelled new like everything that is new does. It's nice and girly looking too!! The price is great considering what they are charging at the Sony website.

The laptop sleeve i requested was supposed to be 14" but when i received it the sleeve said it was 14" but looked like it was 17". My laptop did not fit snug, instead it was moving all around because of the size. Not to mention it is so thin with no padding to protect at all. The return shipping was so expensive and i had no use for it so it was a lose-lose situation.

Very nice and chick sleeve to protect your laptop from scratches. The sleeve has very little padding however, so if you're looking for something with thicker padding, this sleeve is not it. Also, the background white color shown on the picture is much brighter than the actual sleeve itself. It is true to its size. My laptop is 13.5 inches in width, so it fits perfectly well with some space remaining for the mouse and charger. Overall, I like it because it does what I wanted it to do which was to hold my laptop with primary accessories and it protects my laptop from scratches.

I got this for my sister's 14" HP. It does the job of protecting the laptop, but I feel like its too big. I like cases to fit the laptops snug, instead of the laptop dancing around in its case. The case itself is cute but I would say to get the case maybe a size smaller.

This backpack is very nice and provides good protection for the laptop. I have a 17" HP laptop and it fits with room to spare. The padding in the laptop compartment seems adequate for protection and the tablet pocket is also well padded and fits my iPad3 with case very well, also with room to spare. The shoulder straps are well padded and comfortable and adjust easily while being worn. There are plenty of pockets and compartments for all your device and mobile storage needs. The only knock I have (and this goes for just about every backpack I've seen), there is no "Hard" bottom so the backpack does not stand upright then set on a desk or the ground.

5 stars would be 6 if there were more, providing protection for the contents, comfortable to wear and FAST shipping. I would recommend this backpack to anyone who is in the market for one.

5.11 Rush 72 Back Pack

I'm an Army officer and this is one of the best packs on the market. It works as an all-purpose, large capacity travel bag and a rough tactical 3-day pack. The build quality is the best out there (1050 denier, stronger than 1650) with sturdy zippers. The multitude of zippered, mesh storage on the inside is GREAT. The cherry on top is its low profile when it's not filled. If you are only carrying a few things the bag stays thin and doesn't look like you are going camping at Starbucks.

Purchased this for an upcoming deployment (fourth OIF/OEF tour), so I knew what I was looking for, and this pack is it. Picking out the right ruck and getting it "right-sized" is difficult; too large and you're dragging around a piece of luggage; too small and you're tying gear to the outside, snagging it on everything. Quality was important to me as well & 5.11 has a very good reputation.

PROS:

I've carried a lot of civilian backpacks and military rucksacks in my day and this bag is great for its size. First, I want to say I bought the updated Rush 72, from Amazon Warehouse deals as "Like New" When I got it, it had the tags, and it was clean but it contained some candles and a love letter. Apparently it was a Christmas gift turned back into Amazon with the gifts and notes inside. So, take note, buying used can produce some interesting results.

Now to the review. I have a CamelBak BFM 100oz Black that I have used for camping, a Bug Out Bag, traveling, and for military use. It's comfortable to wear, even with a heavy load of about 35 lbs, assembled in the USA, and made of Cordura, so why buy the RUSH 72? I was curious about it and I wanted to return the BFM to it's original role as a BOB.

So for this review I want to compare the two, so shoppers can understand the similarities and differences between them. So first they both are about the same size about 48L to 51L depending on what advertisement you use, but the RUSH 72 is a little taller. They both are well organized, and both have water repellant capabilities. Now let's look at the differences.

Pleae note, these are tactical backpacks so they are not good at holding books, folders, or computers, though they can do it of course.

The BFM 500:

It's assembled in USA, where as the RUSH is made in Vietnam. Camelbak uses Corudra, and 5.11 Tactical uses standard nylon. They both have outer pockets to hold MREs, Water bottles etc. but the BFM's stick out to the side, while the RUSH 72 are sleeker, going into the pack itself. I personally like the Camelbak's version better. It's easier to insert something in them, and they don't take up pack space. On the other hand the RUSH 72 it's difficult to insert something like an MRE, only cylinder shaped things like bottles fit well. Also, the BFM comes with a water bladder.

The RUSH 72:

It's function and capabilities are similar to the BFM. The BFM has better material, and a lot better craftsmanship (The RUSH 72 has some loose thread, and after seven weeks of use, shows signs of loosening. The Camelbak's threading holds much better in place.) Now, the RUSH 72 has a yoke for the shoulder straps which takes getting use too. In fact the RUSH 72 has a learning curve. You have to get comfortable with the feel of the yoke, and depending on your frame you may have to get used to the feel of the tucked away waist belt poking into your sides. After a while you don't notice them anymore. One thing I like though in the main compartment is that the RUSH 72 has a pocket for holding a laptop computer, or radio. The BFM uses straps instead. One thing I don't really like is the RUSH's spill over compartment. If you have a helmet or something it's good to have, but in daily use it just gets in the way. You have to use all the buckles to hold it down, or it will flop open. This also means it's slower to open, close, and keep stable. It's hard to describe but look at a picture of the RUSH and you'll understand. My solution was to have some Velcro attached to hold it tighter in place.

What's the same?

The water repellant material on both packs works well, but I might have to give the nod to the RUSH. Both packs have been in rain storms, but I would say, using anecdotal evidence the RUSH 72 kept my belongings more dry. Both packs have a rear top pocket. On the BFM it's big enough for gloves, night vision equipment, etc. but it has no mesh compartments for small items. On the other hand the RUSH's top compartment is so small it's useless for gloves, and such items. However it has mesh pockets for holding small items. If only the best of both packs were used to make a big rear top pocket with a nice mesh pocket.

The Verdict

It depends on what you want. For quality it's Camlebak. For military application I like the BFM better actually. The outside pockets hold bulky items better, and the rear top compartment is big and useful. For my civilian travels I like the RUSH 72 better. The inside radio/laptop pocket holds my computer well, and keep it dry, and the rear top pocket with mesh is good for holding my iPod, and other miscellaneous items. The fleece lined eye glass holder is okay, but becomes near useless if the main compartment is full.

This bag was worth every penny. I'm USAF Security Forces, and after my last bag (MOLLE 3 Day Military Assault Pack Backpack OD Green) fell apart during my deployment, I decided it was time to look into the names of companies I knew about. That brought me to 5.11, and eventually the 72 pack. I take between 40 and 70 pounds of gear to work everyday, so I need a bag that can withstand punishment, and give me peace of mind knowing that it's not gonna break and send my gear everywhere. After I received the bag, I filled it up, and I still have room for more gear. The nylon feels tough as nails, the handle on the top of the bag feels as strong as they 5.11 claims (2,000 pound breaking point), and it is THE most comfortable bag I have ever carried. Even with my flak vest and LBE on, this bag is still comfortable enough to make me feel like I could ruck for days. The only downside I've come to notice is the tendency for the bag to want to tip forward when I put it on the ground. So, I just attached my IFAK to the lower MOLLE on the front, and fixed the issue. 5.11 came through once again, and this bag has brought me to the conclusion that I will be purchasing anything else I need like this in the future.

Military Inspired Canvas Crossbody Messenger Bag Laptop Bookbag Khaki Green

I like this bag. I do. I've used it on a daily basis to carry my laptop since I got it three weeks ago.

However be warned that the buckles on the strap appear frail, and they do not quite hold the strap correctly. The loop which attaches the strap to the bag rotates 90 degrees from its intended orientation and does not hold the strap flat. Also the length adjustment buckle on the strap slips over time.

My 16:10 aspect 15.4 inch laptop just barely fits in the padded compartment. I'm not sure a newer wider 16:9 aspect 15.4 inch laptop would fit. The padding is not very thick, but I'm comfortable with it.

A nice bag for the money. I'll see how long it lasts.

When I first touched the bag the material seemed rather cheap and i also noticed a slight cut on one side of the strap, but i thought maybe it just needs to be broken in, so i used it for acouple days. Used it main to carry lunch to work, nothing to heavy.

I bought this backpack last year for my daughter. She is in love with a few of the characters on the show. We always go out and buy her a new backpack for the school year because as you well know, they are completely demolished at the end of the school year. We could not find one that she liked prior to starting school and she had nothing to use except a summer bag that she has. I wanted to buy her something that she would love and I found this on amazon. This backpack was a hit and let me tell you, there are no holes in it. It has done it's job well. The only thing that is wrong with it now, mind you the school year is done, is the zipper won't close all the way. I love this backpack and I'm sure my daughter will still continue to use it for other things.

European Style Rucksack Backpack Heavyweight Canvas Bag

I bought two of these for light hiking and weekend trips. The pack is sturdy, the pockets useful. But with a 50" chest, I couldn't get the thing on, even with the straps all the way out. Its' now my 9 year old's camping pack.

The should straps aren't padded. So be careful how much you pack or that weight will start working it's way through you.

Tons of room and very sturdy.

One of the straps will not stay in the clasps and is constantly coming undone. I had to tie a knot in the strap to even use it. Other than that it would be perfect as it is very durable material

Osprey Packs Contrail Courier Bag

I've been shopping around for a better laptop bag for over two years. My prior bag was the Targus city gear messenger, and I found it very functional in terms of what it could hold and how it was organized. However, it's strap for connecting to the handle of a rolling carry-on bag was too flimsy, and the damn thing would never stay on my shoulder. When I saw the Osprey Contrail Courier in a local store, I was intrigued. It looked great, had lots of pockets, and used a unique rigid flap to connect to carry-ons. The strap and shape seemed also seemed more conducive to carrying over the shoulder. After three months of use, I'm pleased to say that it has met and even exceeded my expectations. The strap works great used either cross chest or on the side -balancing the load comfortably. The flap for looping over carry-on bag handles is very study -no risk of the bag twisting and falling to the side. Where the Contrail Courier really excels in the useability. The organization of pockets was obviously carefully designed for max use of the space and easy access while it is being carried on the shoulder. And no matter how stuffed it is, it still retains it's sleek shape and footprint from the outside. The zippers for the main compartment have to be pulled across a right angle -from sides to top -and that takes a little extra tugging at first., but after awhile it closed very easily. All in all, a great, well-designed bag.

This is an awesome bag worth every dollar! I love the style and the durability! Worth all the money. This has to be the best bag ever!

Thomas and Friends Superstar Full Size Thomas Backpack - Thomas the Tank Engine School Bag

I received this bag on time and it was very neatly packaged. However, within 1 or 2 days of carrying this bag, with only a pair of shorts and a shirt in it, this bag started to come apart on the inside at the seams. I think that a bag, at this cost should have been more sturdy. I do not recommend this bag. It is not of durable quality...just pretty to look at. I am very disappointed with it and so is my 4 year old son for whom the bag was purchased.

My 6 year old son was thrilled with this backpack. It's the right size for a little one, but after only 2 months of use there are holes in the bottom and the top. He carries a plastic folder to school and the edges of the folder rubbed in a spot and now we've got holes. I've duct taped the heck out of it to keep it going longer as my son adores the backpack and I'd like to get a bit more use out of it, but I certainly wouldn't buy it again due to it's lack of durability.

Dakine Laptop Sleeve Pack-Large

I debated about this Laptop Sleeve due to it's low price compared to others. However I am extremely pleased with both the quality and attractiveness, as well as the design. The "fabric" has a great "feel" to it -both soft and yet sturdy. The size is accurate and roomy enough to fit my portable scanner which is the item I actually purchased it to hold. I'm very happy with this product and will likely purchase another one to actually hold my laptop. In my opinion, you won't be disappointed with this sleeve.

Gave as a Christmas gift and it is very handy for travel whether going through security at an airport or to a meeting.

Online shopping can be misguiding at times due to the image quality and lighting. When the bag came, I thought they shipped a different colored bag because the green is completely different than what is pictured. I bought the bag for the color and minimalistic features.

I'm upset with the color but the bag is durable and great, just wish the color was correct.

Thule Crossover 30 Liter Backpack

This bag is expensive, and very well made, but was not something that I became very excited about. Don't get me wrong, it has some nice features, but a couple of issues have me disappointed, and I would not buy this bag for me.

CONS:

1) It is very hard to unzip the bag all the way around, because you first have to remove two awkward straps midway down the sides (with tight hinges that are hard to undo and redo) to do so. I really don't like this design. Had this been something that worked better, I'd give the bag another star.

2) The bag is not waterproof. Some things I was carrying inside got wet, and I was disappointed it wasn't a little more water resistant. Not sure I would want to carry wet towels or clothes inside...

3) The way the bag deals with straps makes it difficult to adjust, should you need to. Most backpacks just have loose straps; this bag has them tightly bunched up in a ball and velcroed together. It really isn't worth the effort to undo them and retie them to adjust the back straps.

PROS:

1) I like the crushproof container. What a great idea. You could put sunglasses or small electronic items here. Nice addition.

2) Rugged. The material that it is made of seems pretty durable. I expected that with the high price tag and I was not disappointed.

3) Lots of pockets and zippers. Also, since it is so square, and has all those compartments, it really feels more like a carry on suitcase than a backpack. This is not a bad thing, and makes me like it a bit more, as I can fit more into it. (I would rate this 4 stars as a soft case carry on bag, but only 3 as a walk around backpack).

4) Handles on both ends. This is a nice feature as you can grab it from anywhere to take it with you.

Overall, the bag is interesting, just not my cup of tea. If it were 40% cheaper I would give it 4 stars. As it is I recommend that you see this bag in person and fiddle with it before buying, and you may be very happy you did or didn't buy it.

My current backpack was probably purchased back in the early 90's and the zipper is hard to use because it's always get caught in the threads that are fraying off the pack so the Thule Crossover is a heck of an upgrade. From the moment I pulled it out of the box it felt like I was holding a quality piece of luggage (and in many ways it does feel like luggage). Everything about it feels solidly made and thoughtfully designed. Obviously I can't look 10 years into the future to see how the Thule holds up but I have this feeling this one is built to last.

What most impressed me was how well thought out the Crossover is. The pack feels very light with a back that is hard enough to stop items inside from poking you but padded so it doesn't feel like you have a plank of wood on your back. There is a solid compartment at the top of the pack for storing delicate items like electronics or skiing goggles. The pack will unzip almost completely in a similar way to luggage and has several more compartments inside including one near the top that my wallet fit into snuggly. I also like the smaller pockets on the side of the pack that could be used for storing car keys, credit cards or even a small camera. There are handles at the base and the top of the pack for hoisting around and I can imagine that the idea was that the Crossover could be used as a carry on and the handles would work nicely for getting it into an overhead compartment.

The Crossover looks slick and could be your sole source of luggage on a short trip. It can be laid flat and opened up like a small suitcase with plenty of room for several days of clothing. There is even a zipper that runs straight down the back where you could possibly store a dress shirt or important papers that you need to grab quickly. Let me say that when I describe it as luggage that is not to imply that it cannot be used just like a normal backpack for carrying schoolbooks and lunches. It's just that the design here is far beyond what I normally think of when I imagine a backpack. I've reviewed other high quality items in the past and the killer tends to be price but in this instance I think that 100 bucks is an extremely fair price for what you get. This might well be the last backpack I ever get.

Thule makes a laptop bag. This is not it. Their laptop sling is a 19 liter one, and is probably more suited for those who take their laptops to a lot of places. I just take mine out occasionally to other people's houses, like when I'm house sitting. Thus, this larger, heavier backpack suits me better. I wanted a lot of protection for my laptop, as well as the "crush-proof SafeZone compartment" for my iPod and cell phone. (The sling doesn't have that compartment.) There is a front section for my papers or books, and a smaller zip section inside for pens and such. It's water resistant, and I know the straps are never going to break...sending my laptop crashing to the floor. I love it! I only wish it was purple or royal blue. :)

Afterthoughs: It's like two years later almost to the day that I posted this review. I just wanted to add that this is truly a great backpack for lugging around a laptop. The crush-proof compartment is also terrific for a camera. And the backpack is indestructible when it comes to pets--at least cats and ferrets. For some reason, it attracts cats and ferrets like crazy. Cats like to sleep on it, and ferrets spend hours trying to get into it. Their attempts all fail, and their biting and scratching does absolutely no harm to this Thule. The only problem is the cat and ferret hair that gets on it. :)

This bag is touted as a gear bag for outdoor enthusiasts. With myself being one, one with lots of gear, and a familiar and respectable name like Thule, I jumped at the opportunity to own this bag! The crush proof case is marketed towards ski goggles (even the tag in the pocket is the shape/size of goggles) so I thought this would be a great boot bag. I was disappointed to find that my boarding boots fit in this bag only if the hard casing, which makes it crush proof, was removed from that pocket (meaning that my goggles wouldn't be protectd/nor fit). It was about 1" shy of fitting it all.

That being said, it's still a great bag, just not for my initial intended purpose. I love this bag for a carry on for airline travel. In a way it's the perfect blend between a backpack and a carry on suitcase. The insider liner reminds me of that in a wardrobe bag. It unzips to open all the way, like a suitcase(it lays open on it's own), so it's easy to pack and gives you easy access to it's contents. It has two handles, one on each side so it's easy to zip up again. I love how it fits on my back. The straps are very comfortable without being bulky. I have narrow shoulders and this bag sits so comfortably. The zippers have noticeable blue grips which makes them easy to find, although I did notice it zips easier when full. The material is seemingly durable, yet very light weight, and the entire bag is PVC-free, love that! One small complaint about the material the straps and back pads are made of is that it seems to attract pet hair! Not so lovely considering those parts touch your clothing.

I am glad have this bag, even though it won't hold all my snow boarding gear. I look forward to using this bag as a carry on while flying, for hiking, and just out and about with my kids. Even though the crush proof pocket won't be used for my ski goggles, it'll be useful for my camera, or even for keeping snacks from getting crushed..especially for keeping bananas from making everything in the bag smell like one! ;)

Eddie Bauer Cinch Sack

I've been shopping around for a cinch sack for a while. I wanted one that would last for years. When I saw this one at Eddie Bauer I knew I had found the cinch sack I was looking for.

The materiel for the bag is thick and sturdy. The water resistant materiel makes it great for hikes and sports. The see-through mesh pocket in front is perfect for a water bottle or anything else you want for easy access. The only issue I have with this bag is the straps can sometimes get uneven and it takes a few minutes to readjust them.

I recommend bag for it sturdiness and value.

Dakine Factor Pack Laptop Backpack

Bought this for my husband. Because he rides his bike to and from work everyday, so he needs something to cary all his junk for work in.

He has went though many back pack's... over time, that have cost twice as much as this one did.

They were cheaply made and didnt last very long.

This one is made very strong, it's well padded an very comfortable.

With lot's of pockets... he could'nt stop talking about it, for the frist month after he got it.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a strong everyday pack.

I ordered without having seen one of the Dakine backpacks in person before. It was exactly what I imagined the feel and quality would be like: excellent.

This is my day-to-day backpack and it's feels very comfortable on the shoulders, even when I'm carrying my Lenovo T410 laptop in it. It's been a month already and it is a good as new.

Thoughts:

it has a glasses pocket with a soft material on the inside to prevent scratches. However, you would rather keep them on a hard case. They could easily break either by your laptop on a bad move or from the outside if something/someone puts enough pressure on the backpack.

This is a reasonably sleek and low-profile backpack. In the "Timber" color, it's not overly military looking, yet blends in and hides dirt/grime well. Not many compartments, but seems pretty well made so far. If you want a smaller pack with a decent drag handle--this may be it.

I am a graduate student, so I use this bag to tote my school materials back and forth to campus. It is on the small side, but luckily I have an office at school so I don't have to lug textbooks back and forth. The straps are comfortable on my shoulders, which is a plus because I walk about a mile each way to campus every day. The low profile is great for travel or when I'm biking. The handle is also very solid, though I hardly ever pick it up by that. The dual water bottle holders are a plus, though mine have become key holders at this point. The downside is that there is not a lot of room for writing utensils inside the small flap, but I just hook my pens onto the open pocket on the front and that seems to work very well. Overall, it's a solid bag with a great look that I plan to use until it either falls apart or needs to be replaced with something roomier.

Long Range Bugout Bag

I have used this bag now for about four months. It is useful but it was not the size I thought it would be when I recieved it. Although it is a lot smaller than the bugout bag I had before it is holding its own for the most part. I can not put as much in it as I would like but it is definitely holding together. The only reason why i gave it a three was because obne of the pull strings for the zipper broke off. It took almost three years for that to start happening on my larger bugout bag, and I took the larger one with me almost every where I went. I would still however recommend this particular bag to anyone who wanted to purchase it.
