This back pack was just as described, and the color is way better in person then on the picture, very nice blue. The material is very durable and I know it will last a very long time. This backpack is also big enough without looking like the usual over the top backpacks out there, the straps are easy to adjust as well. Over all it would be a great choice for a teenager or adult! any high schooler or college student would like it!

I was very exited about the cute bag they show in the picture. I was disappointed when I opened the package and there was a completely different bag. The bag is more of a teal color and has more straps. I was very upset and unsatisfied.

The packpack is very bad quality, it broke within a week of the purchase, and the materials are really bad.

Gravis Battery

Gravis Battery Backpack - 28L Phantom, One SizeThe Gravis Battery backpack looks nice on paper and in images, but it wasn't what I expected. I purchased the " Phantom" version of the bag. The material does feel as if it holds up to the elements, but the overall build of it doesn't feel that sturdy. the lining between the main pocket and smaller middle pocket is so thin, that you can see through it. The isolated laptop pocket is nice but is not lined with any sort of soft fabric, it is just padded nylon. i did like the side beverage holder pockets. The main compartment is roomy, but the items do end up standing in a slant since the bottom of the bag is designed to contour better with your lower back rather than sit on a flat surface. I have since returned the item back. I did not buy the item through Amazon, had I, the item would have been easier to return.

Bare | Lido Backpack - Burgundy

Bare | Lido Backpack - BurgundyThe backpack is really cute but after using for a couple of weeks only I noticed a few issues:

the colors run. I now own a pair of pants whose back turned red as a result of the rubbing off of the colors. The blue lining also runs (a book carried inside is now blue along the edges)

the back panel wasn't sewed all the way. The tear has gotten worse and you can now see the foam backing

two of the eyelets for the main drawstring have torn off already

Overall I would not recommended. I was expecting a much better product quality for that price

Designer Sleeves 13-Inch Starry Night Laptop Case (13DS-STARN)

Designer Sleeves 13-Inch Starry Night Laptop CaseThe case is very pretty and it fits my macbook perfectly. I think it is a bit overpriced for the quality, but I suppose when you are buying this, you are paying more for the design on the case than the quality of the case. Overall, I would order again.

this is very cool, not the typical boring black. My new macbook pro 13 inch fits nicely. Only thing I would change is to make the padding a bit thicker.

I'll have to get use to it considering my last bookbag was huge. But I do like it.

Osprey FlapJack Men's Courier Shoulder Bag

Osprey FlapJack Men's Courier Shoulder BagI like this bag a LOT. Heck, I like this company a lot. I think they could take the Pepsi challenge with Eagle Creek and Timbuk 2 for quality, design and service. I also looked at the Timbuk 2 Command, and Thule Crossover.

I've had this bag for a few months now, and I use it every day for work, however, I've not used it while riding a bike yet.

It is well designed, with great build quality (durable materials, stitching and fasteners), and it looks sweet. I would call it "sporty professional."

There is not a lot of detailed info for this bag on Amazon or Osprey, so I'll elaborate for anyone who cares...

Design comments:

One main flap covering entire interior of bag.

Main pocket is open and roomy with a padded slot (sized for laptop, manilla folders, w/ velcroed tab closure), a zippered lightly padded pocket (sized for tablet, 8.5x11s), and flexible, unstructured remaining space (sized for shell/jacket + soft lunch bag, 14" legal docs). I have been able to easily fit a 18" tall roll of drawings fully into this pocket (at a diagonal). There is a small handle inside the main pocket.

Zippered Pockets: one on main flap/cover (size of compact disc), one on side of bag (insulated coffee mug), two accessory pockets in front of bag (under flap), one (tablet & 8.5x11 papers) inside main pocket.

Mesh elastic pockets: one inside aforementioned "coffee mug" pocket (sized for coins plus smart phone), one inside main compartment (2 travel umbrellas).

Miscellaneous: 1st accessory front pocket: 6x8, w/ key clip; 2nd larger accessory pocket: 8x10, 2 open slots (one large smartphone, one iPod classic), 2 pen slots.

Back of bag has fully adjustable & removable 1/2" webbing w/ fastex buckles. With this you can secure bag around waist while riding bike, or secure bag to rolling luggage handle.

Bag has tendency to stay upright and not fall over, if contents are evenly distributed. Bottom of bag is relatively flat.

Flap can be secured to main bag body in two ways: two typical "fastex" click buckles on outside of flap and velcro. (Amazon blowhard comment: I covered the velcro flap with a 2" x 4" piece of loose velcro to prevent the flap from continuously grabbing).

Bag handle: very comfortable.

Shoulder strap: pad is very comfortable, has grippy/tacky surface and slides along main strap. Strap has ingenious single-action clasp for quick and effortless adjustment.

Aesthetic comments: Bag has black (well, not the blackest black, closer to a dark, slate grey) body with reflective accents, and medium grey straps. It has a lime green liner, which provides contrast to the pockets. (Amazon blowhard comment: I didn't expect the green interior, and wouldn't be my first choice, but I got used to it). Exchangeable accent color straps for main flap cover buckles.

Cons: A bit weak on the amount of information/pictures available on this product, including Osprey's own site was lacking. Frankly, I felt a bit uneasy buying it without more photographic/descriptive info, but I felt comfortable with Osprey's track record.

I have no real concerns about this bag, and highly recommend it.

Bought this bag as a replacement for my Osprey Astro. I really liked the Astro, but its getting a bit grubby and I wanted something which wouldn't look too out of place in a business environment.

Overall, I really want to like it the bag itself is a pretty nice design, internal and external pockets are mostly well laid out, and the handle is very sturdy and comfortable (much better than the handle on the Astro).

My main gripe however is with the length of the shoulder strap why is it so short? I'm not especially tall, about 5'9", but with the strap fully extended the top of the bag still sits quite a bit above my hip, somewhat higher than I would prefer for this kind of messenger style bag. Someone with a larger build may find the bag sits even higher.

Would it have been so hard to allow a bit more leeway in the shoulder strap length? A couple more inches would have been better. The strap length on the Astro was pretty much perfect.

Also, one feature I really liked on the Astro which is missing on the Flapjack is the top zipper which allows access the the main compartment without having to open the main flap this really is incredibly handy and the one feature which would have made this bag just about perfect.

The only other comment I have is about the side pocket it has one zipped side pocket on the left hand side. I would have liked to have another pocket like this on the right hand side as well.

Other than these points, its a very nice bag and I'm pretty satisfied with it.

Buy Osprey FlapJack Men's Courier Shoulder Bag Now

You won't find quality like an Osprey product anywhere else on the market. Sometimes the price tags for their bags can be a little intimidating but understand that you are hands down buying some of the material craftsmanship available. This stuff lasts and can take a serious beating, it's almost as if it has permanent Scotchguard protecting all of the fabric. This is the second Osprey bag I've purchased, my first being the Veer. I've always been amazed at the quality of their products and this is no exception.

This bag in particular is extremely spacious, you'll be amazed by what you can cram in this thing and still be left with space. I load it up in the morning with my laptop, charging cables, various odds and ends of gadgets, a 2 liter jug of water, a 32oz coffee mug, a 32oz tea mug, and it's still ridiculous easy to close with plenty of extra room available in the exterior pockets and inner compartments.

I wasn't sure if i'd like the open flap approach of the bag but now it's probably my favorite feature. Getting access to things is snappy and often times you can just pull the side of the flap in and access something from the side without need to even open up the top. The velcro is often times more than enough to secure a heavy load, employing a thick strip which gives a strong grip. This bag is secure and if you take the time to buckle the front flap you won't have to worry about things falling out, even if it tips over.

If you've been going back and forth between bag purchases, or messenger bags in particular, take it from someone who went through many and did his homework: this is the one to get.

Nice looking and high-quality materials. However, not optimal for carrying work papers because it is not structured and contents can get squished. There is a small exterior zipper compartment, but accessing the interior creates a very loud "velcro" noise. If you are in a quiet library or office--people will definitely know when you open your bag. Nonetheless, I give it four stars because it's a good travel bag that holds a lot.

Want Osprey FlapJack Men's Courier Shoulder Bag Discount?

I used this bag for my trip to Seattle. It's a bit wider than I would like for school but it's perfect for traveling. My laptop, a couple books and my headphones fit in the large compartment, but also a doughnut pillow (that's what I call them) and a large scarf I use as a blanket on flights.

I like that it was a mesh pocket in the large compartment for a water bottle so that it's not exposed on the outside. and it was a mesh zippered compartment for documents.

It's super comfortable to wear on your shoulders. I was debating on getting a timbuk2 bag but I tried one on in seattle and i found that those bags are too stiff (maybe just when they're brand new), the shoulder pad is stiffer and not as comfortable (again), and the design of the pockets are kinda silly (at least to my taste)

overall I'm pretty happy with this bag. I got the chili red and i love the color

Mammut Crea Light Backpack - Women's

Mammut Crea Light Backpack - Women's, Cherry-Iron, 28 LI love that there's a solid frame for back support and it allows the air to circulate between the backpack and the back. But the shoulder straps could've been more padded.

I was looking for a backpack for Yosemite trail. It's nice color, light weight, great buy!

I will definitely recommend it to my friends.

Timbuk2 Uptown Laptop TSA-Friendly Backpack

Timbuk2 Uptown Laptop BackpackI am severely disappointed in this bag. I have owned two Timbuk2 bags prior to this and I always swallowed the price tag because of the unbelievable quality and durability of their bags. This is clearly not the case on the Uptown. Upon receiving I noticed how cheaply made the bag was:

No reinforced bottom.

Straps thin and single stiched.

Ultrathin pack material.

Worst of all, the carrying handles are a joke. The thinnest single piece of nylon I have ever seen a pack. My 1990's Jansport made this feel like a glass egg!

At first I thought I was the victim of poor quality control, but even on the Timbuk2 site there are customers crying out for more durability on this pack! WAKE UP TIMBUK2!!

By the way, my strap broke at the bottom during my first trip to work. So it was really fun carrying my backpack around in my arms like a sack all day!

To give you an idea, it had a small 15" laptop, Ipad, a 1"binder, three pens and my car keys. I admit one of those pens weighed a few ounces, but come on! Seriously, the bag was no where near it's proposed weight or size capacity.

It's just really sad to see a grassroots company like Timbuk2 sell out to try and make a buck from the people who backed you from the beginning.

Needless to say, thanks to Amazon, the bag is going back and I'll never trust in Timbuk2 again. I can only hope you learn from my mistake and steer clear.

I've had this backpack for couple months now and I honestly love it more and more....

What I use it for:

daily bus commute to work, I usually carry iPad, 15'' laptop, gzillion cables, chargers, headsets, ... occasionally a jacket (even winter fleece jacket fits), and yes also coffee mug

What I was worried about:

1. the material feel thin and cheap. I was wrong, honestly it works great, I actually like how light it is

2. zippers feel cheap as well, but work, no issue there

What I love:

1. tons of pockets

2. laptop pocket I used it 6x at the airports already, never had to pull my laptop out of the backpack so convenient, yes people are jealous

3. shoulder straps really nicely fit, this is probably the most comfortable backpack I used so far

What I don't care about but you might:

1. this is not waterproof backpack, I would not take it skying

2. it has no waist strap

3. it is not "tough" backpack, don't expect same material you are used to from messenger bag, this backpack is as light and simple as possible

Is there anything to improve: Well yes, there is always something.

1. I would love to see mouse pocket (yeah geeky stuff) and padded sunglasses pocket

2. Perhaps a bit less flimsy zippers.

3. true napoleon pocket (the existing napoleon pocket is sideways, but deep down and thus harder to pull stuff from)

Buy Timbuk2 Uptown Laptop TSA-Friendly Backpack Now

Yes, it's kind of expensive. But totally worth it!

I had my Timbuk2 messenger bag for 12 years, and decided it was time to upgrade. I've got a lot of back problems, and was told the messenger style bag isn't helping. (The messenger bag is still going strong BTW, speaks volumes about the quality of Timbuk2!)

I travel, A LOT, and this bag really saves time and effort at the airport. I was a little weary that the TSA would let it through without me taking my computer out, but so far I've been through DCA, CLT, BWI, and SAV with no problems. I'm going through LAX tomorrow and expect the same.

The only thing that concerns me about this bag is where the straps are connected it looks like there is a lot of stress on the stitching. I'm confident Timbuk2 knows what they are doing, and I guess only time will tell. I'll update if I have any problems.

Read Best Reviews of Timbuk2 Uptown Laptop TSA-Friendly Backpack Here

I have had several timbuk2 bags and this is my favorite. The TSA friendly compartment holds my laptop and this section also easily holds my iPad as well. There is a section for all my power cords, a smaller section for pens etc. And the kicker is there is a compartment for a small amount of clothing. I recently went on a two day business trip and was able to carry just this bag. And given all these compartments, this bag is quite small.

I may never get another kind of bag again.

Want Timbuk2 Uptown Laptop TSA-Friendly Backpack Discount?

I almost returned this bag, but I decided to keep it...

The bad:

Very uncomfortable The straps have virtually no padding and are very narrow, so they bite into you pretty badly, especially if you are wearing it over one sholder. The only way that I have found any comfort is to have it fully on my back. Also, there is no padding on the back of the bag, so your back is effectively against your laptop. It feels like having a flat board strapped to your back.

Cheap Zippers Don't move smoothly and snag often, which is not a good thing in the security line at the airport. My previous Swissgear bag had zippers that worked very smoothly and with little effort, so I am used to much better.

Build Quility Though I don't think the quality is quite as bad as some of the reviewers before me, I don't expect that this bag will last more than a year or two.

The good:

TSA friendly so, don't have to remove the laptop at security checkpoints

Layout of pockets and compartments works well for my style of organization.

Holds my 17" laptop, but is still a pretty compact bag. My old bag always seemed really big and took up a lot of space.

Nice looking bag

Gregory Miwok 22 Daypack

Gregory Miwok 22 Daypack, Iron Gray, One SizeI own several packs and this one is the best yet. It is the small things that separate great from the rest like the small zippered pockets on waist belt and the side access to the water bladder. high quality material and construction. highly recommend it

this backpack is very comfortable on your back and has just enough internal organization. I love the outside stretch pocket it comes in handy all the time to put a wet jacket in or some dirty shoes. the shoulder straps are very comfortable and the pack seems to be well made. the only bad thing I've found is that the bottom of the pack seems be a little to thin to hold a lot of weight. other than that i love it

The shoulder straps and waist band were perfectly comfortable as I wore it almost every day all day long.

Nike Brasilia 5 Gymsack

Nike Brasilia 5 GymsackThe sack arrived on time, excellent for taking to gym, my shoes and shorts fit well. That's pretty much all that fits. I felt it was a bit smaller than i would have liked.

This bag is just what I needed for my workout clothes and a pair of sneakers. The build is solid and the synthetic material is strong, so I know it won't tear easily. The straps are slim and are comfortable to carry (the bag doesn't have much weight in it any way). Perfect for my needs.

Thule Crossover 30 Liter Backpack

Thule Crossover 30 Liter BackpackThis video shows you the Thule backpack inside and out.

This bag is expensive, and very well made, but was not something that I became very excited about. Don't get me wrong, it has some nice features, but a couple of issues have me disappointed, and I would not buy this bag for me.

CONS:

1) It is very hard to unzip the bag all the way around, because you first have to remove two awkward straps midway down the sides (with tight hinges that are hard to undo and redo) to do so. I really don't like this design. Had this been something that worked better, I'd give the bag another star.

2) The bag is not waterproof. Some things I was carrying inside got wet, and I was disappointed it wasn't a little more water resistant. Not sure I would want to carry wet towels or clothes inside...

3) The way the bag deals with straps makes it difficult to adjust, should you need to. Most backpacks just have loose straps; this bag has them tightly bunched up in a ball and velcroed together. It really isn't worth the effort to undo them and retie them to adjust the back straps.

PROS:

1) I like the crushproof container. What a great idea. You could put sunglasses or small electronic items here. Nice addition.

2) Rugged. The material that it is made of seems pretty durable. I expected that with the high price tag and I was not disappointed.

3) Lots of pockets and zippers. Also, since it is so square, and has all those compartments, it really feels more like a carry on suitcase than a backpack. This is not a bad thing, and makes me like it a bit more, as I can fit more into it. (I would rate this 4 stars as a soft case carry on bag, but only 3 as a walk around backpack).

4) Handles on both ends. This is a nice feature as you can grab it from anywhere to take it with you.

Overall, the bag is interesting, just not my cup of tea. If it were 40% cheaper I would give it 4 stars. As it is I recommend that you see this bag in person and fiddle with it before buying, and you may be very happy you did or didn't buy it.

Buy Thule Crossover 30 Liter Backpack Now

My current backpack was probably purchased back in the early 90's and the zipper is hard to use because it's always get caught in the threads that are fraying off the pack so the Thule Crossover is a heck of an upgrade. From the moment I pulled it out of the box it felt like I was holding a quality piece of luggage (and in many ways it does feel like luggage). Everything about it feels solidly made and thoughtfully designed. Obviously I can't look 10 years into the future to see how the Thule holds up but I have this feeling this one is built to last.

What most impressed me was how well thought out the Crossover is. The pack feels very light with a back that is hard enough to stop items inside from poking you but padded so it doesn't feel like you have a plank of wood on your back. There is a solid compartment at the top of the pack for storing delicate items like electronics or skiing goggles. The pack will unzip almost completely in a similar way to luggage and has several more compartments inside including one near the top that my wallet fit into snuggly. I also like the smaller pockets on the side of the pack that could be used for storing car keys, credit cards or even a small camera. There are handles at the base and the top of the pack for hoisting around and I can imagine that the idea was that the Crossover could be used as a carry on and the handles would work nicely for getting it into an overhead compartment.

The Crossover looks slick and could be your sole source of luggage on a short trip. It can be laid flat and opened up like a small suitcase with plenty of room for several days of clothing. There is even a zipper that runs straight down the back where you could possibly store a dress shirt or important papers that you need to grab quickly. Let me say that when I describe it as luggage that is not to imply that it cannot be used just like a normal backpack for carrying schoolbooks and lunches. It's just that the design here is far beyond what I normally think of when I imagine a backpack. I've reviewed other high quality items in the past and the killer tends to be price but in this instance I think that 100 bucks is an extremely fair price for what you get. This might well be the last backpack I ever get.

Read Best Reviews of Thule Crossover 30 Liter Backpack Here

Thule makes a laptop bag. This is not it. Their laptop sling is a 19 liter one, and is probably more suited for those who take their laptops to a lot of places. I just take mine out occasionally to other people's houses, like when I'm house sitting. Thus, this larger, heavier backpack suits me better. I wanted a lot of protection for my laptop, as well as the "crush-proof SafeZone compartment" for my iPod and cell phone. (The sling doesn't have that compartment.) There is a front section for my papers or books, and a smaller zip section inside for pens and such. It's water resistant, and I know the straps are never going to break...sending my laptop crashing to the floor. I love it! I only wish it was purple or royal blue. :)

Afterthoughs: It's like two years later almost to the day that I posted this review. I just wanted to add that this is truly a great backpack for lugging around a laptop. The crush-proof compartment is also terrific for a camera. And the backpack is indestructible when it comes to pets--at least cats and ferrets. For some reason, it attracts cats and ferrets like crazy. Cats like to sleep on it, and ferrets spend hours trying to get into it. Their attempts all fail, and their biting and scratching does absolutely no harm to this Thule. The only problem is the cat and ferret hair that gets on it. :)

Want Thule Crossover 30 Liter Backpack Discount?

This bag is touted as a gear bag for outdoor enthusiasts. With myself being one, one with lots of gear, and a familiar and respectable name like Thule, I jumped at the opportunity to own this bag! The crush proof case is marketed towards ski goggles (even the tag in the pocket is the shape/size of goggles) so I thought this would be a great boot bag. I was disappointed to find that my boarding boots fit in this bag only if the hard casing, which makes it crush proof, was removed from that pocket (meaning that my goggles wouldn't be protectd/nor fit). It was about 1" shy of fitting it all.

That being said, it's still a great bag, just not for my initial intended purpose. I love this bag for a carry on for airline travel. In a way it's the perfect blend between a backpack and a carry on suitcase. The insider liner reminds me of that in a wardrobe bag. It unzips to open all the way, like a suitcase(it lays open on it's own), so it's easy to pack and gives you easy access to it's contents. It has two handles, one on each side so it's easy to zip up again. I love how it fits on my back. The straps are very comfortable without being bulky. I have narrow shoulders and this bag sits so comfortably. The zippers have noticeable blue grips which makes them easy to find, although I did notice it zips easier when full. The material is seemingly durable, yet very light weight, and the entire bag is PVC-free, love that! One small complaint about the material the straps and back pads are made of is that it seems to attract pet hair! Not so lovely considering those parts touch your clothing.

I am glad have this bag, even though it won't hold all my snow boarding gear. I look forward to using this bag as a carry on while flying, for hiking, and just out and about with my kids. Even though the crush proof pocket won't be used for my ski goggles, it'll be useful for my camera, or even for keeping snacks from getting crushed..especially for keeping bananas from making everything in the bag smell like one! ;)

My Hoyt Vipertec compound bow fits very well and I hardly realize that I'm packing it. If you want a very nice and comfortable fanny pack and day pack when you need it, then this is it!!

Materials and pocket placements are well thought out and quality, but let's just say I'm not tall and this bag is not a good fit. It is designed for someone who is at least 5'10" or over 6' tall. The waist wrap around is way too think with so much extra unncessary padding and making it bulky. 4 starts but definitely not 5 stars unless I am like 6' tall, which a lot of us aren't.

This is one very cool pack. I recently took it on a backpacking trip and I was able to strap my sleeping bag and tent on the back using the hauling mode and still have plenty of room for everything else in the main fanny pack and day pack compartments. All in all I had it loaded to about 30 lbs and I actually thought it was more comfortable than the internal frame pack I've got. I didn't get it in time for turkey season, wish I had found this sooner. I did test it out with my turkey gear though and everything fits just fine. It says 'bow carry' mode in the description but I just cinched the straps all the way and it holds my shotgun quite securely. The optional compartments that strap on the front which are sold separately are a cool idea, but honestly this pack is so versatile already I don't see the need for them. One other thing I didn't see in the description you can take out the waistband if you want and use it as a standard backpack.

My husband just started hunting again after years of hiatus. He basically needs EVERYTHING so it was great to find this backpack for a great price, yet it is good quality and fits a ton of gear in it. It can also be configured to fit a bow or rifle in the back. Great deal!

The North Face Vault Backpack

The North Face Vault Backpack One Size TNF Blackthe quality is not so good. I guess most are made in china. It seems that you get what you pay for. A cheap bag with no quality on the material and product.

But still a North Face so if you are a brand conscious then this bag may or may not be yours.

North Face is a great brand and this backpack is no exception to their products. My son has used this backpack for one year now, and it is still in great condition. The seams and zippers are all still intact! Saved money when purchasing from Amazon rather than sporting good stores!

I had a North Face backpack that I thought was the same model as this one it had the same name. However, this one seems of lower quality than the previous one. Maybe I didn't look at the specs on this close enough before purchasing, but I wish I hadn't bought it.

SWISS GEAR by WEGNER : SwissGear SYNERGY Computer Backpack

SWISS GEAR by WEGNER : SwissGear SYNERGY Computer BackpackHave had this bag for a year now and love it. It protects my laptop and has nice storage for the plug, mouse, and cellphone/ipod charger. Also has a few mesh pockets and one pocket is just the perfect size for the USB I have (it cannot be any more perfect as far as size for it). The padding for the laptop is thick and the straps/handle is very very sturdy. I walk to and from 45 min each way and it holds up way better than my old one. The waterbottle holders are raised up and are capable of holding my Nalgenes in place and I don't worry about it falling. I however cannot carry my bonder in it with my laptop because it does take up room. But still the best bag I've ever had for school.
