its a great case protects against water but the strapes to carry it are on the inside so if you want ot carry it you have to leave the top open and i havent tried it because in scared to drop my laptop like that but i carry mine in my bookbag and i keep the strapes inside anyways but if you want to carry by the handles dont get this bag.

it was a lot thinner than i expected it to be my laptop doesn't feel very secure in it..and the image looks better in the picture.

the first day of camp my 3 year old daughter put her sunscreen in someone else's bag bc they looked the same. The next day my wife put the pink heart taggy on her camp bag(which all look the same) and she is loving it. She now brings home all her stuff.

Bag came quicker than expected, the name was spelled correctly, and the bag looks good. The bag is a burlap style material and is very stiff and rigid. The first time I pulled the straps to close it, the seams tore on both sides. The seller immediately shipped me a new bag to replace the defective one without me even having to ask. They went above and beyond to take care of me. Awesome service!

Military Inspired Stylish Backpack Canvas Day Pack Black

I like this bag, it's as described, with all canvas and brass-looking buckles for closure, and the top has a draw string to close it up snug. The inside is lined with water-resistent material, and has a zipper pouch that has quite a bit of room. I was hoping it would fit my 16" laptop, but it's rather snug when I have the sleeve on it. I don't think I would use it for my laptop. The straps are kind of short, and are "buckled" to how short or long you want them, but they are kind of short. I think I may end up tying them together to use as one strap. Don't think I would recommend this for a college student, if you have to carry around a laptop, but for high school it would work out. I may end up just carting my laptop around in its sleeve.

I've had trouble with the straps. I ended up sewing them together, and I'm hoping that will solve the problem, as the "buckles" they were adjusted with kept losing the strap and it would drop off my shoulder with my laptop inside!!

I am going to end up carrying my laptop in its sleeve, but the backpack itself is pretty nice. It does fit my 16" laptop, but I'm worried about the straps slipping again. I can fit all of my school stuff binders, spiral notebooks, and extendable folder. I'm probably not going to put my books in it again, with the straps. I suppose I could tie them in knots.

The backpack is cute, which is why I got it in the first place. That's the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. But other than that, it has been the worst quality backpack I've ever had. I wasn't expecting that due to the fact that it's canvas, and that is a very durable fabric

The straps started to fall apart only a week into owning it. The inside lining is falling apart. I literally sat down and re-sewed in every single seam in this backpack because the string is soooo weak. It's fallen apart on me randomly MULTIPLE times.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this backpack. And it was really sad, because I held off on buying a backpack else where because I found this one at a reasonable price and thought it would "last longer". I guess I know now not to buy anything that says "stylish" in the description title. *sigh* ): ):

I ordered three of these bags. Two for men and one for my nephew. My nephew loves his bag! Already has all of his fishing gear packed up inside.

The problem is it is too small for an adult man. It sits very high on the back and makes a 6 ft tall man look like it is his first day of preschool.

The quality of the bag is nice.

We would recommend this bag to others that are looking for a childs backpack for outdoor activities.

The buckles are a little cheap and may slip if the bag is too heavy.

Dakine Central Pack

I'd like to start this off by saying that I've had this backpack for about three months and am impressed. This backpack feels durable, has the storage space I need, and just looks great. I've had no problem with the straps, zippers, or any other part of the bag. I only wish that this bag had more pockets; I often that I have too many random things stuffed into the outer pocket that I have to dig through for longer than I'd like to find what I'm looking for. The top outer pocket is useful for storing your glasses or wallet anything that's small and you need to keep in reach.

The capacity of the main pocket, in my experience, is about two 2-inch binders and one 1.5-inch binder (I'm estimating). I usually don't need more space than that, and I'm in high school. Don't expect to carry all your textbooks AND binders in this bag, as you would look like an idiot you know, those people who obviously have stuffed too much crap into their backpacks.

This bag is also a breath of fresh air for those who are sick of those bland JanSports that everyone seems to be wearing (at least at my school).

High Sierra Evolution 28-Inch Wheeled Upright Suitcase

I bought the 28" and 22" High Sierra suitcases. After one trip, the stitching on the 28" suitcase started unraveling. The suitcase was not over-packed (30 lbs. total weight according to the airline scale), so there was no undue stress. The "cheap" suitcase that I also used did not show any signs of wear (26 lbs. total weight). Same trip, same handling. The inside clothing hold-down straps were difficult to adjust tight enough to prevent content shifting. The wheels do roll good and the corners seemed durable against abrasion, and it is lightweight. The warranty is somewhat useless--sending the product back for their determination of whether or not it was their fault in the product failure is laughable. I had it repaired at a shoe shop for less than the cost of shipping the suitcase.

This luggage is not good quality and looked like we had owned it for 10 years after one trip. The only positive is that it is bright in color and easily recognizable at the luggage claim.

Your first thought will be, these are so light, how will they ever hold up. These literally weigh less than half the weight of the bags they're replacing.

We actually purchased a couple of these bags. Mine is green and my wife's is red. We've used them for one cross country airplane trip and they did very well. The red seemed to soil a little more than the green but that could have just been something it came in contact with.

The only thing I don't like about the design is there's really no way to secure the zipper closures. At one location mine came off the belt with underwear hanging out. What I think happened was TSA didn't bother to fully close everything after inspection (yes, it was inspected). But it really wouldn't take much for the zipper to catch on something and end up partially open.

Other than that, the're great. Even if you don't take the bag all the way to maximum weight, why lug around extra weight that you don't need?

Gregory Women's Jade 34 Backpack

I just love Gregory packs, I have the 25, 28, 34, 38 and the 50 Jade packs! Yuphave to sell a couple, whah! ha ha ha. Anyway the 34 is the perfect size for a long day hike or a simple overnight jaunt. I use mine as a emergency pack in my car! It handles up to 35 lbs and is still comfortable to wear. It has a lot of pockets to choose from to creatively store your gear in the best places for you to get them quickly. The built-in standard rain covers are a nice quality touch! The Jade cross flow suspension is my favorite and goes up to the 38 before it changes the suspension on the bigger packs. The air flow on hot summer days of 90+ is wonderful. The shoulder straps are very comfortable considering they don't look thick. I have a neck & shoulder injury and these packs are so comfortable for me to wear, that's why I have so many! ha ha ha. I purchased a clover green before they disappeared! It's a rich color, very nice. Gregory offers some very nice colors, the tuolumne green, Nordic blue and the red/grey combo are the richest so far. The bluebird is ok but not a favorite. Depends on your taste. I can't recommend a better pack for the price, especially when you get them on sale!! Worth every penny.The newer packs put the side compression straps over the side water bottle pockets, this is the only "upgrade" I do not like, as I like to be able to compress my pack, not my water bottle as I like to drink from it!! Other than that can't complain.

Bottom line: Great packs, cool colors and Comfortable with a capitol C!! Worth the price of admission...

This is my second Dakine Mission Pack, and both have performed above and beyond my expectations. There are enough pockets to hold any and everything, and most pockets are fleece lined. The main compartment is large enough for sweatshirts and books, and comes with a laptop sleeve that can fit most laptops. Lastly, the build quality is astounding. My last one held up for 5+ years. The fabric is water resistant and the stitches are strong.

Overall, I would highly recommend this backpack.

It holds things well. The zippers work and it's pretty sturdy. Good backpack for basic stuff. If you use it to hike up Mt. Everest you're going to die. Don't use it to hike up Mt. Everest. Otherwise it's a good pack.

Patagonia Chacabuco Pack (Black)

Let me start by saying that I am a backpack fanatic. I spend hours a week looking at backpacks.... Osprey, Camelbak, Maxpedition, Mountain Hardware. I own more than I'd like to admit.

I've been looking for the perfect urban EDC bag for sometime, & then I came across this pack. I love this pack! It has all the right features... organization, pockets, space, durability, looks etc. The one thing I do not like about this pack are the straps. I wish Patagonia would have made them a little more thicker & more comfortable. It was almost a deal breaker for me until I figured out how to break these in.

I would do this the day you receive the pack to get the straps to be comfortable: Fill the bag with anything until it's a little heavier that it would be when you normally carry it around. Buy a wooden suit hanger (any Target or Wal Mart). Hang the pack on the hanger, making sure that the shoulder straps bend where your shoulders would be. Tie the pack down so that it will not slip out of place or slide on the hanger. Let it hang there for a day or two and then it will be ready to go. Makes a world of difference.

With the straps broken in, this is hands down my favorite pack to wear around the city. It can go anywhere from an outdoor festival to a nice restaurant. Perfect!

I looked at reviews here and elsewhere for months before I finally replaced a 12 year old EMS bag. Bought the North Face Surge 2. Decent pack but very "stiff" is the only way I can put it. I needed something:

Big enough to take 2 lunches, a change of clothes, a sweater, laptop, cords, kindle and other odds and ends with me to work nearly every day on my 60 mile commute via train bus and subway.

Nice looking enough for the office but rugged and versatile enough to be a hiking day-pack stuffed with everything an over-packer like me can think of.

Comfortable and well balanced to minimize back stress while commuting/hiking.

That protects a laptop very well.

With a waist buckle to shift a lot of the weight to my hips. I know many hate these/think they look dorky. To each their own but it makes a world of difference on the back. I think you can take them off if you want. Me though, I love the waist belt and had a hard time finding a good pack with one.

Check check check and check. Love this bag. Only had it a month so can't speak to longevity but it seems durable, but without the stiffness of some other bags.

It doesn't have the easy airport pocket feature that many bags advertise, but personally I didn't want that as I rarely ever fly and found the extra pocket feature just added bulk and is useless when I'm not travelling with a laptop like on the weekend hiking. The laptop IS very well protected though in the dedicated internal sleeve. Well cushioned on all edges and sides and the bottom of the laptop sleeve is cushioned and "elevated" a bit off the base of the main bag compartment so if you put the bag down hard you're fine. And I dig that when not toting the laptop, the compartment just smooshes flat to allow me to cram more stuff in.

Some people have complained about he straps digging into shoulders or something. Everybody's body is shaped differently but I had zero problems (5-9 guy, average build) and I wear it for hours at a time often overstuffed, and I find the straps very comfortable and the back cushioning is nice as well.

I could see a frequent airport traveller maybe wanting a pack with that easy open sleeve feature but it's not like sliding the laptop out of the sleeve within the main compartment is particularly hard or time consuming.

In sum, highly recommended from someone hard to please with backpacks.

The backpack looks good, well made, color is close to a picture a little lighter and more grey (I got the chocolate one), but I like it even better this way. Many pockets and compartments make it easy to organize my belongings. Looks very slim and not bulky at all, even being fully packed. Very pleased with the item, will recommend it to friends.

The blue turned out to be a bright, very light turquoise, not the almost navy of the picture! Not even close to the true color. Other than that, the quality seems good and the size is useful. This is the cutest little back pack. It is an average size I would say for a toddler probably 2-6 yrs. I ordered this for my son for his 3rd birthday because he is into pirates and I think he will enjoy this very much. He loves packing back packs with his special toys to take where ever we go. It has not been used yet his birthday is next week, but I messed with it and loaded stuff into to see how much it could hold and it is a very good size for kids. It seems pretty well made and thicher than I was expecting and a plus you can wash it.

I bought this as a replacement pack for my son and was pleasantly surprised. The material is soft yet durable. The colors are bright and the artwork is so lovely in detail. This is such a nice pack that I will be sending him off to kindergarten with it.

Gregory Women's Jade 60 Backpack

I'm an outdoor gear reviewer of gear made for petite women and I'm impressed with the 2013 model of this pack. It is roomy, sizing is right on, comfortable and the XS is about 3.75lbs when you do some strap trimming ( I was able to elimate about 2 ounces from the pack by trimming all the straps, removing tags, the plastic zipper pulls and some other unnecessary items on the pack). Pretty good pack if you are small and looking to carry 35-40lbs. Beats out the taller Osprey packs as this one sits shorter overall which eliminates that tippy feeling you get when manufacturer's just throw a XS suspension on a 33" tall pack. The only suggestions I would make are to turn the front zipper pocket into a stretch pocket to eliminate the zipper weight and my special request to Gregory; can you get this pack to 3.5lbs or less without sacrificing the suspension, then it would be perfect!

Gregory did well on the lid and should keep the top lid as is...don't add extra weight by turning it into a lumbar pack, there are numerous manufacturer's out there now that make ultralight compressible daypacks that fit into the size of your palm and weigh next to nothing. I also removed the plastic clip holding the trekking pole bungies, not really needed if you know how to tie a knot and they are pretty heavy for their size. As far as the lumbar padding it looks like they did some design changes versus the 2011 model to make it a little more compressible and comfortable. Gregory should consider making the transition between lumbar padding to hipbelt padding a little more smoothly to help even out the load on the hips. Overall though an awesome pack and if you have a 14' to 16' torso I would definately recommend this over Osprey, Granite Gear and others for 7+ day trips and 35+ lbs. There are ultralight options like the Granite Gear V.C 60 Ki available but are only good at less than 25lbs due to the minimalist suspension so if you plan on carrying more than that go ahead and pick one of these up!

The North Face Jester Black

Very well put together back pack. The worksmanship is very good and the materials look good for a couple of years at least. the shoulder straps are omfortable, but the back is very stiffalmost like its made of hardboard or a thin sheet of ply.

My son, 12, uses it, and its good for him... one main compartment for school books and the front compartment for supplies, side pockets fow water-bottles... and he is done. This one is not going hiking or to the park... the back is too stiff. No laptop compartment but it would take a 15" piece easy.... The only thing tht annoyed me was the picures and descriptions/reviews made it seem a whole lot bigger... and its not.

As a college student, I wanted a backpack that has both style and rugged functionality. This backpack offers both, TNF is a staple in quality and collegiate/ outdoor style. The backpack is a bit small compared to other Northface products. There are only two main compartments, and the padding is a bit scant.

However I say it is still worth the buy by far. The structure of the backpack is sound and the colors are very well done. Logos and easily manipulated zippers make this a great choice for college kids.

After borrowing my roommate's North Face Jester Daypack for a few weeks, I liked it so much that I bought my own. It's both stylish and functional with plenty of pockets in the front zipper for compartmentalizing your belongings for easy retrieval later. Elastic side pockets are PERFECT for holding my waterbottle on one side, phone/keys on the other. Straps are supportive enough for my 30 min walk to class with PLENTY of books inside. Large enough to fit everything I need for the day without being too large that it looks ridiculous on my petite frame. If ever it was damaged, I would definitely buy another... so far it's been durable enough that I doubt I'll need a new one for awhile.

Its a wonderful backpack.. It is exactly what I was looking for. Big enough to fit everything but when you put it on it does not feel heavy. I have a small stature, which makes this backpack perfect for me because it is not huge but it's also not too small. Definitely worth the price.

Dakine Girls Jewel Back Pack

I'm a college student and this backpack has been great for me. It isn't too big, but it fits everything I need perfectly. If you need a BIG backpack I would say this isn't for you, but if you like a more streamline backpack that has a lot of great organizational pockets then this is great. The one different thing is that it is a very long backpack, which might pose a problem for shorter people. I'm 5'5 and it fits me fine. Also the part that you can put food/water/icepack has also came in really handy!!

I'm a female science major with joint problems and this backpack has been a Godsend. The straps are arranged so that even with textbooks and my laptop, the weight is distributed evenly and comfortably. My two favorite things about the backpack are the specialty pockets. There is an insulated pocket that allows me to keep snacks and drinks cool, very important when running from class to class. There is also a velvet lined pocket at the top of the backpack. This is designed for sunglasses, and is amazing for that purpose, as well as holding small electronics.

The only problem I could see with this bag is when it is loaded up with books in the front pocket, it is very difficult to fit my 13 inch laptop into the laptop compartment, or place water bottles in the pockets on the sides. This would be even more difficult with a larger laptop, so take that into consideration.

It arrived quickly, and is of very solid construction. I love it.

My daughter had been looking for a backpack for about 6 months, when she found this one. The best thing is the back straps. They have an extra loop at the top that spreads out the weight between both shoulder straps. She is in High School always has a ton of books, so it gets very heavy. With the new straps, it really distributes the weight evenly to not put so much pressure on her back. Of course she loves all the pockets (especially the padded one for her laptop, and she loved the pattern.

The only bad thing was that it came shipped to us with the security tag still on it. I called customer service and they were very helpful in giving me instructions on how to remove it.

We have been through so many backpacks over the years, we wish we would have known about the Dakine brand before.

The colors are beautiful, I ordered it in Lolani... not to bright like I was afraid of. I love Dakine because of the quality of the material and all there products seem to have alot of pockets, this bag is no exception. The bag is LOOOONG, I am 5'4 and the bottom of the bag lands just at my hips, and the straps are at there shortest. Not only is the bag long, but the depth of the backpack is farily narrow. I can fit quite a few books in the bag, but I have to stack them. I am returning this bag and ordering DAKINE Girl's Prom Pack, same color. I did give it 3 stars because of the quality and color, just not happy with the size of the bag.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this backpack! It fits EVERYTHING perfectly....I have had it for about a month and shockingly everything is still very organized in it. This is because the pockets and zippers are so well designed. It has a separate zipper/pocket for your laptop (I have a Macbook Pro 13" and it fits just great), the insulated pocket for food is such an awesome perk! It fits soooo much more than you would think and if something spills it doesn't make a mess in the rest of the backpack. I love the straps they fit perfect and it is so lightweight I can carry all of my books (~7 books/15-20 lbs)and my laptop without a problem. This is BY-FAR the best backpack I have ever owned...and I am so glad I bought it! :)
