Equinox Parula Ultralite Day Pack

This is one of the best UL / Summit daypacks on the market and at 7 3/4 oz actual weight super light. The pack has a mesh back that is excellent for ventilation and reducing the sweaty back typical of backpacks, the mesh also creates great traction on your back vs sil nylon back panels that tend to slide around, the new model comes with a removable waist belt (make sure the outfit that sells you the pack confirms that it comes with the waist belt, if not Equinox LTD has them on hand).

This is what I've been looking for in a day/peak bag. Absolutely large enough to carry a full compliment of goods once you drop your tent and sleeping gear. The water bottle holders on each side comfortably hold my 32 oz. Nalgene bladders and the hood pocket keeps thing the little things readily accessible. Absolutely comfortable in all respects. I took off the waist strap. Not needed for my use. The net back grips my shirt or jacket fine so no need to secure the pack to me with the waist belt. Sure wish it had a sternum strap but the daisy chain loops that run down both shoulder straps make fabricating that little item a snap. I loaded the pack with a 10L dry sack to keep rain out but was surprised that the material this is made of is nicely water repellent (it rained like crazy yesterday). The one day I used it so far (yesterday) it was a dream. As a side note, while not an advertised feature, the pack comfortably tucks away into the hood pocket (just turn the pocket inside out, stuff her in and then pull the now inside-out zipper closed)for compact storage in your larger pack. It loses a star for no sternum strap (C'mon Equinox sternum straps are outright essentials. I'll live with the extra 1/2 oz. Oh, the waist belt can become a sternum strap. FYI.).

I use this everyday ridning my bike, and is able to fit a lot in there. However, zipper is not the greatest, i foresee problems with that not Holding up in the long run. Until then, i enjoy this backpack a lot.

Disney Cars 18" Kids Pilot Case - Rolling Luggage

These suitcases are cute and just the right size for a visit to Grandma's. My boys will be so excited to wheel these behind them. I was disappointed to see there were no pockets inside or out. The suitcase also doesn't have the elastic strap to keep clothes neatly arranged when carried or pulled. Those would have been practical to add.

My nephew loves his new Cars suitcase, but as a consumer, I am disappointed. It has no elastic straps inside, and as the other reviewer mentioned, no pockets at all. It was a little bigger than I expected (that is good). The handle does not set in place when extended. I don't expect this suitcase to survive much travel, but if you are using it for visits overnight to Grandma or at a friend's house, it is great.

I purchased this backpack for my very forgetful 8 year old daughter. She is always forgetting something somewhere at the end of the day because it did not fit in her backpack. I am so happy with all the space! I opened the pockets expecting them to be half the size they actually were. Last year I purchased a typical backpack from a discount store and on the first day of school it was jammed full and I still had 3 grocery bags of supplies to carry in for her. I got this backpack to store my computer and business-related items. I am a road warrior and have gone through the ubiquitous "regular" computer bags and thought I would give this a whirl. The built in sleeve for my Dell computer keeps it safe and sound no matter how much I clunk it around--up and down steps, tossed into a luggage hold, etc. There is a spot for everything. Computer, power cable, network cords, mouse, my documentation, my e-reader, business cards, keys, pens, a 35mm camera, lunch, etc. Oh yes, I pack it full and it has held up for well over a year under very rigorous conditions!

Whether you are looking for something for your child or for yourself as you commute on a train, plane or automobile, I don't think you'll be disappointed. When my current bag wears out, I will most definitely be purchasing another one--so glad to have found them here so I know where to go when the time comes to buy another. I honestly cannot say one bad thing about this bag. I finally found my own "perfect" solution!

This is a great product! I recently returned to school (at 45 yrs old) and the first 2 days I carried a backpack and thought I was going to die! I calculated my walk from the car to my first class at .8 mile, all carrying a backpack full of laptop, 2 books, notebooks, pens, water bottle, etc. Way too heavy! A year ago I purchased this backpack for my 10 yr old daughter after trying so many others. This is THE BEST wheeled backpack I have ever purchased and well-worth the money. I bought a more expensive/so called hi-quality wheeled backpack from a "BIG" sporting goods retailer and after a few weeks,the zipper broke. There are more pricey backpacks out there in backpack "LAND" that claim to be the best quality and most durable. I doubt it!! My money is on High Sierra from now until my daughter attends high school. They have the best styles and colors...and are virtually kid-proof. After adjusting the shoulder pads, the black "straps" hang down at the bottom of the back of the bag. My daughter was putting the bag from her shoulder at one point to rolling it at another (rolling to the bus and shoulder to get on the bus). If the shoulder pads and straps are not tucked in when rolling, the black straps hanging down will not last my daughter's broke off within 2 days of use. So, it seems that it is not practical to use as both a roller and a strapped backpack easily.

Good size, more pockets than i expected. I was a little worried about the straps at first, but they're fine, i just wouldn't recommend putting anything too heavy in it. Patagonia Chacabuco Pack (Black)

Let me start by saying that I am a backpack fanatic. I spend hours a week looking at backpacks.... Osprey, Camelbak, Maxpedition, Mountain Hardware. I own more than I'd like to admit.

I've been looking for the perfect urban EDC bag for sometime, & then I came across this pack. I love this pack! It has all the right features... organization, pockets, space, durability, looks etc. The one thing I do not like about this pack are the straps. I wish Patagonia would have made them a little more thicker & more comfortable. It was almost a deal breaker for me until I figured out how to break these in.

I would do this the day you receive the pack to get the straps to be comfortable: Fill the bag with anything until it's a little heavier that it would be when you normally carry it around. Buy a wooden suit hanger (any Target or Wal Mart). Hang the pack on the hanger, making sure that the shoulder straps bend where your shoulders would be. Tie the pack down so that it will not slip out of place or slide on the hanger. Let it hang there for a day or two and then it will be ready to go. Makes a world of difference.

With the straps broken in, this is hands down my favorite pack to wear around the city. It can go anywhere from an outdoor festival to a nice restaurant. Perfect!

I looked at reviews here and elsewhere for months before I finally replaced a 12 year old EMS bag. Bought the North Face Surge 2. Decent pack but very "stiff" is the only way I can put it. I needed something:

Big enough to take 2 lunches, a change of clothes, a sweater, laptop, cords, kindle and other odds and ends with me to work nearly every day on my 60 mile commute via train bus and subway.

Nice looking enough for the office but rugged and versatile enough to be a hiking day-pack stuffed with everything an over-packer like me can think of.

Comfortable and well balanced to minimize back stress while commuting/hiking.

That protects a laptop very well.

With a waist buckle to shift a lot of the weight to my hips. I know many hate these/think they look dorky. To each their own but it makes a world of difference on the back. I think you can take them off if you want. Me though, I love the waist belt and had a hard time finding a good pack with one.

Check check check and check. Love this bag. Only had it a month so can't speak to longevity but it seems durable, but without the stiffness of some other bags.

It doesn't have the easy airport pocket feature that many bags advertise, but personally I didn't want that as I rarely ever fly and found the extra pocket feature just added bulk and is useless when I'm not travelling with a laptop like on the weekend hiking. The laptop IS very well protected though in the dedicated internal sleeve. Well cushioned on all edges and sides and the bottom of the laptop sleeve is cushioned and "elevated" a bit off the base of the main bag compartment so if you put the bag down hard you're fine. And I dig that when not toting the laptop, the compartment just smooshes flat to allow me to cram more stuff in.

Some people have complained about he straps digging into shoulders or something. Everybody's body is shaped differently but I had zero problems (5-9 guy, average build) and I wear it for hours at a time often overstuffed, and I find the straps very comfortable and the back cushioning is nice as well.

I could see a frequent airport traveller maybe wanting a pack with that easy open sleeve feature but it's not like sliding the laptop out of the sleeve within the main compartment is particularly hard or time consuming.

In sum, highly recommended from someone hard to please with backpacks.

Kate Spade New York Nylon Stevie Baby Diaper Bag

This bag is very cute, however the zipper is horrible. It gets caught and snagged so you can't just zip it closed quickly. I returned the first bag I received hoping it was just a problem with that individual bag, but the replacement does the exact same thing. I'm very disappointed that I have to take this bag into an alterations place and have the zipper replaced. This is a $400 + bag and it is not made with any precious or rare materials. It's disappointing that they couldn't spare a little more of their resources to make a bag with a decent zipper.

I bought this bag (in black) in anticipation of my first child and got it at a fraction of the price from an outlet store. I use it often because it is very spacious and has lots of pockets, but I hate, hate, hate the handles. Perhaps this is only and issue with the outlet bags, but from what I can tell they are all made the same except the labels.

Pros:

Has tons of pockets for organizing (or if you're like me, losing things in...the thing I need is always at the very bottom of the last pocket and I only find it after searching the bag twice over)

The HANDLES....This is my main gripe about the bag, but I think it's pretty considerable since that's how you lug it around...They are tubular patent leather with a thick seam that faces your arm/shoulder area when you carry the bag. My bag came with a coating on the edges to seal the leather, which quickly pealed off after a few uses. The seam is thick and hard and digs into your arm and or shoulder whenever you're carrying the bag. And it's a spacious bag so it's usually heavy with baby gear. Also, at the most inconvenient times, like when I'm bending to pick up my baby or toddler, the outer-most handle ALWAYS falls off my shoulder, leaving the bag to gape open and allowing things to fall out. So I have to now bend with child in one arm and giant bag on the other and balance as I fish for the item that fell out. (And yes, it does zip closed at the top, which would prevent this mostly from happening, but that restricts space and takes a few seconds, which sometimes I can't seem to spare.)

Also after many washes (I've had my bag for about 1.5 years.) The changing pad has faded and wrinkled, which to me is a minor issue.

Also the stroller straps that come as part of the bag are pretty useless aside from taking up other-wise useful pocket space and adding weight (the clips are large and metal). The straps are barely long enough to fit on my stroller (Baby Jogger, City Mini) and the bag is usually way too heavy to hang on the stroller (The weight tips the empty stroller, which is why you're not supposed to hang bags from the handles anyways, I know.). It would be much more useful and productive if the stroller straps were actually a cross body strap, then it would actually be functional, (for moments when you need both hands and also a longer strap to hang from stroller, if you choose to do such a thing).

This bag would be wonderful if it had handles that were mom friendly. I regret purchasing this bag and frequently alternate to smaller bags like a cotton Vera Bradley with soft handles that don't dig into my shoulder or constantly fall down, but I find it too small. I'm still searching for the perfect diaper bag, and am about to abandon any hope of finding something stylish AND functional. My second baby is weeks away and I'm very close to settling for a back pack. At least it can be hands free, is spacious, has pockets, and I can more easily pawn it off to my husband to carry. Hope this helps!

I got this bag as a early Mother's Day present and I love it. The bright red inside is so helpful in trying to find a lost pacifier. My last bag was black on the inside and I felt like it was a black hole. But the red makes it so much easier to find things especially if you have a screaming baby. My sis in law has a similiar Kate Spade bag and it has lasted through 2 kids. I know this is a pricey bag, but it's worth it if it lasts. I'd rather buy a nice bag and have it last then to buy several cheap ones that dont. I love the nylon outside, it cleans easily. Overall this is a great bag and I highly recommend.

This was my present to myself for baby #2. I am sooooo glad I broke down and purchased it. Looks like a purse, so no one even thinks its a diaper bag. Material easily wipes down milk and snack spills. Bottle pockets are big enough for any bottle, sippy cup , or sports drink bottle. Lots of inside pockets for all of baby's stuff. Nice quality changing pad unlike most other cheapo diaper bags. It is a little shorter than most diaper bags and there is no over the shoulder strap. If it had these two things I would've gave it 5 stars. There is enough room for 2 babies stuff and moms wallet, tablet, cell phone, lop gloss, etc. Glad I purchased this and looking forward to using it the next few years. Now dad gets the cheap ugly one to use from now on!! ;)

I did read the other review about the zipper being awful, but honestly didn't think much about it since the other reviews were very good and this is the bag I've been wanting for our first baby. It is definitely 5 stars otherwise, but the zipper just doesn't open/close smoothly. It gets caught or stops regularly. I will change my review if it improves with use (I am not due until early July), but as of now I am not impressed and do not plan on taking it somewhere to have a better zipper installed. Very disappointed with this for the cost. And I actually had bought another bag, exact same style just different fabric, online at a surprise sale from Kate Spade directly, and while other aspects of that bag are not as nice as this one, the zipper for sure works perfectly.

STM Bags Armour 13 inch Laptop Shoulder Bag

Great bag Fits MacBook Air 13" perfectly. There is a small insert in the bottom of the bag (extra cushion I assume) that needs to be removed for the best fit but I use that as a wedge at the top of the bag to keep the MBA from moving. I searched all over for a hard sided bag, since I use the Otter Box product for my iPhone and I like that level of protection. I was led to this product after seeing STM's messenger bag but the feedback said it would gap open and let water in and that is obviously not hard sided Apple never mentioned this case in their website and I had to search STM's to find it. Very heavy duty, strong zippers etc. I also liked that they have a separate bag for accessories so the MBA does not get scratched up and I don't have to lug the accessories around if I don't need them. It comes with a little hook to attach to the main case but I went out and got one of those carabiner clips just because it is easier to take off and on. I've used it for a few months now and my only complaint to STM is cosmetic. It is a fine, hard case but the bottom of the bag get's a little pitted where it is banged around and it is not through color black little grayish / white divots can arise. My only other complaint is directed at Amazon. For some reason UPS partners with the Post Office for deliveries from Amazon and instead of delivering to my house they deliver to the post office this takes longer and I had to go to the post office and pick it up.

Brenthaven Pro 15/17 Backpack (2340)

I've been a long-time user of Brenthaven products. But I was a little unhappy with the Brenthaven Professional 17 because the laptop compartment was not as easy to use as other manufacturers. It has a dual-flap system: unzip, then open the velcro flap. So I began to try other manufacturers. I tried pretty much everything, from Kensington, to Tumi, Lowepro, etc. I liked the Kensington Contour line, but seemed a little bulky and not as rugged. I was really happy with the Booq Python XL, until I started using it. The zippers jammed and broke on the very first day of use! Booq's customer service is deplorable, requiring the customer prove ownership by submitting pictures of the defective product (why couldn't I just send it in for replacement?) So I decided to go back to Brenthaven. I liked how this model had a new-style laptop compartment. Well, I've been using it for a while. It's by far the best, don't waste your time and money elsewhere. The zippers are large coil-type and are easy to use and will not jam. The laptop compartment is a cinch to use, just unzip and slip in the laptop. It's well-protected by hard panels and soft foam. The shoulder straps are contoured and comfortable. There are even cell phone connector nubs on the straps (an undocumented feature!) The material and construction is flawless, dependable, and well, the best! If you do decide to get this one, I recommend you get it through Amazon, and not one of the other sellers here. It's a little more expensive, but the shipping is so much better. I have received many shipments from other sellers through Amazon, and they truly suck! Sometimes I get stuff in a torn-up padded envelople, sometimes the item is crushed beyond belief, often the shipper takes a long time to get on the ball and ship! With Amazon, my shipments are always very prompt, and the quality of packing is so much better. This bag came double-boxed with padding and in excellent condition.

A 17" Mac Book Pro or Powerbook fits nicely in this backpack, and there's plenty of extra room for the power supply, spare batteries, cables, thumb drives, EVDO cards, etc.

Brenthaven changed the design a few months ago. My wife has an earlier one, which has a less comfortable handle but a removable inner sleeve that velcros closed.

The newer style does not have the internal velcro closure, and this was a very costly omission for me. My backpack, containing my 17" Powerbook, tipped over, fully zipped, and fell approximately two feet to the floor, with the top of the backpack striking pavement.

Fearing the worst but hoping for the best, I removed the computer and was horrified to discover that it had slid right through the internal flap and taken the full brunt of the impact, massively denting and dislocating the side of the computer and damaging the PCMCIA slot.

Applecare does not cover this sort of damage, so I ended up eating a multi-hundred dollar repair bill.

The backpack is comfortable and capacious, but the lack of protection for a top impact was a deep disappointment.

I'm a computer consultant and carry my laptop and other gear with me EVERYWHERE. I bought this bag because it was one of the few that would fit my 17" MacBookPro and what a great job it does!

This bag is certainly not going to carry your laptop and several school books. If you're a student, forget it.

The bag has plenty of room for the laptop, in the dedicated compartment. Because I have the 17", I had to pull the 2" thick extra padding from the bottom. I'm able to fit a complete set of tools I use regularly to fix computers in the bottom pocket (screwdrivers, tweazers, ESD strap, extra screws, etc). Another pocket has lots of room to hold my business cards, pens, DVD/CDs, USB keys/jump drives, cable lock, etc. Then there's the pocket for my paper work, folders and enough room to carry around one thick book (as computer books tend to be thick) or several smaller books. Finally, the last pocket has plenty of room to carry my laptop's power adapter, extension cord, wireless mouse and 10-foot ethernet cable.

In short, this one bag carries EVERYTHING I need to be productive at my customers' sites. Is this bag for everyone? No. It's certainly not light. There is so much protective padding, the bag itself is weighty. That's great for me, because I take my machine everywhere and can get a little rough. But if you are not able to or interested in carrying around some good weight, look elsewhere.

Overall, this is a perfect bag for me. I don't prioritize weight over protection or convenience of being able to carry a lot of stuff in one bag. This bag has really held up well for me so far (about 6-8 weeks) and has made my travels with my laptop and other gear much easier.

I certainly recommend this bag for people on the go, who carry a lot of stuff and want to consolidate it all in one place and who don't mind the weight.

I don't usually write these kinds of reviews but I'm really impressed with this Brenthaven Pro 15-17 Backpack! It costs a little more but it's worth the money. The protection system is awesome. I've dropped this case a few times with my Powerbook 17" inside and have opened it expecting my portable to be in pieces... only to find it's in perfect shape. The straps feel like true backpack straps, very comfortable. And after a few months of hard use, it still looks like new. I would highly recommend this case to anyone looking for a great laptop backpack.

I first bought the Benthaven briefcase version, figuring backpacks are for the young. Well, turns out backpacks are also for the not-so-young. The Brenthaven CORE protection chamber for the MacBook Pro is clearly heavy duty, and it itself is covered with ballistic nylon that allows you to zip closed the already closed protection chamber. (A removeable 2"-thick block of CORE material is also included to create a snug fit for the 15.3".) I don't go around dropping my backpack on purpose, but I also don't worry when it falls a couple of feet.

I've used the pack extensively for 4 months now and love the thing. It has plenty of pockets for accessories and business materials, including a small zippered pocket at the front bottom of the pack that I use for bottles of meds I don't want in checked baggage. I've carried my Macbook Pro 17", all its accessories, my digi cam, digi tape recorder, cell phone, cell phone accessories, meds, writing materials, a day's change of clothing, and I've STILL had room for a couple of books. The pockets are all easily accessible, and two pockets can be locked (baggage locks not included). Even fully packed, the backpack fits easily and safely in a plane's overhead storage compartment. Plus the adjustable straps are padded for a comfortable fit over one shoulder or two.

In the past, a computer case was just a computer case, but Brenthaven hit a home run with this baby. It holds more than I imagined, protects my MacBook Pro, AND looks great. The only downside was its price--I paid $179.00 for mine--but the current price of $118.62 is a steal.

7000 Cubic Inch Alpine Trekking/ Hiking/ Climbing/ Camping Backpack

I used this backpack for the Sierra Club Wilderness Basics Course and I was pleased with the height but the pack is very narrow. I really struggled to get a sleeping bag and a tent in it without breaking a seam/ zipper. Also, the upper side pockets are almost useless when the pack is loaded up. The top of the pockets are flush with the side of the pack so they really can't expand out as you put things into them. The lower side "bottle holders" are also kind of tiny. My final problem with this pack was the cheap plastic buckles. I broke three of them during the course of the class (Two shoulder buckles and one on the bottom of the pack. I was able to tie off the straps and continue but having equipment hold together while you are out in the desert is extremely important. Overall the pack was usable and the other features are great but it needs some girth, better plastic, and better pockets.

I bought this pack a few months ago and really didn't have the time to try it out...until last week.

Two of my buddies and I decided to go on a four day back-country hike in the Red River Gorge. I had been on a few of these before but nothing as long and as rugged as this one, and for four days the 7,000 cubic inch space came in quite handy.

I was able to fit: two pairs of pants, two pairs of shorts, a pair of swimming trunks, a hooded sweat shirt, a pair of shoes, a first aid kit, 4 pairs of socks, 3 t-shirts, a flashlight, three 1.5 liter water bottles, two rolls of toilet paper, a two person tent and a .45 handgun in the main compartment. On the upper compartment: toothbrush, deodorant, flint striker and fire starters. Lower compartment I used for food such as canned tuna, beef jerky, soups, ect....

Strapped to the lower half was a thick sleeping pad and a thick sleeping bag. The two side compartments each easily held 1.5 liter bottles snuggly strapped in.

In all it weighed in at around 90 lbs. Which is where the comfort of this pack comes in. Sure it was heavy but it fit great, had well balance and pretty good shoulder padding. With the chest strap and the padded waist strap it made a very heavy haul as easy as it could be.

I was planning to go camping in Yosemite for the weekend and needed to shop for a backpack after I found out my old mainstay had a big hole in the rough-hide leather bottom. Many thanks to Fluffy for that... Anyway, I wanted something quick and cheap when I came across these bags. Holy cow, this camping backpack is a bargain. It is HUGE and has got all the trappings of a fully spec-ed out camping backpack. There are more than enough compartments, straps, and buckles to hold just about any standard gear you'd care to take and it looks I could have catered a New year's bash in this bag. The shoulder, hip, and belt straps are all nicely padded and adjustable. I don't know much about the material and stuff but it came back from my trip in one piece and now I have a real backpack for my next trip. Definitely recommend it for its price.

i have been using this pack for a few weeks

the materials, like the circular ball closingsand blue string, used for tighttening up the top pack are cheapely made, as well as the straps... if you put this up againt a north face, jansport or lowe pack for starters, it does not hold a candle. the ergonimic needs for good hiking are lacking in this the design of this pack

one problem is the hip buckle adjustment is not adjustable on the spot, as it is cheaply made. 90 percent of the bodies weight comes onto the hips in movement and a well designed hip pad is imperative. also the 7,000 cu inch measurement statement is including all openings, which is misleading. the basic top to bottom opening does not shore up to even nearly that

in my view this kind of advertising is deplorable

yes, it was an inexpensive pack, but this is no excuse for bad

This pack will do the job of lugging a lot of gear... but it isn't 7000 CI. I can fit my 2 person tent, 4.5 liters of water, enough food for 3 days, 2 days of clean clothing, my glock 19 handgun, stove, sleeping bag and pad. That being said if they would reinforce the cheap plastic buckles and design the side pockets to expand larger this could be a great bag on a budget! It isn't that comfortable but for under $70 buxs compared to over $300 for an Osprey I can deal with that. I have a 3 day trip and 2 day trip on Mt.Baldy and Ice House Saddle Trail on this pack as long as the cheap plastic buckles hold up I am happy with my purchase.

I have had the backpack for about 3 years and all I can say is it is very close to perfection. I had done a lot of research prior to buying it and it paid off. The combination of features it truely unique. The material is very sturdy and looks like new even after 3 years of daily use. I had read a lot of reviews about other nicely looking backpacks which were unusable after 6 months due to cheap (but beautiful) material. The laptop compartment has protection on _all_ sides including the bottom. My IBM T41 fits easily. The backpack is big but doesn't look like you are about to go mountain hiking there is plenty of room for books, folders, lunch box etc. Cell phone pocket is a nice touch. There is a belt you can fasten if you have to run to catch a bus or a train. I only have two minor complaints. I wish it had better organizer for pencils, calculators etc the one it has consists of 3 basic pencil holders which are not able to hold anything thinner than half an inch and two big mesh pockets. Another thing, I whish the outer pockets were better designed i.e. instead of one horizontal pocket it had two vertical ones and the side pockets were bigger to hold water bottle, small umbrella etc. I looked at other backpacks with better outer pockets but all of them weren't even comparable to this one in terms of all other features.

I first ordered this pack because my new laptop (ASUS G74S w/ 17.3" screen) would in no way fit in my old laptop bag. Unfortunately, having no idea what brand my old bag is, or even if there is a larger model available (I bought it almost 9 years ago at the Lackland AFB BX), I had to do some searching to find an ideal replacement for it. The workmanship and material quality of the Mobile Edge is outstanding. I've only had it for about three weeks, but it looks like it'll hold up a good long time. The pack is very comfortable to wear, even with my heavy laptop, its power supply, a full travel case of DVD/Bluray discs, and four 2.5" HDDs in external enclosures all packed into it. I've already walked many miles with it on my back and not had a single problem. The padding on the pack and its straps is comfortable, but not so soft that it'll compress and wear out quickly. The portion that holds the laptop is also very well thought out, with dense "egg carton" style foam and a nice wide elastic strap to securely hold the laptop.

I do have two small complaints that kept me from giving this five stars though: The first is that it's still a tight fit for my laptop, though mine is one of only a few models that are as big as it is, so this may not apply to you. It can still be made to fit with a bit of jockeying, and is getting easier as I break in the backpack, but I think making the pack just one inch taller, or squaring the overall curve of the top just slightly more would make it a much more ideal option for carrying larger laptops. My second complaint (and I shopped around for a couple months, with this ending up being the best option in that aspect as well) is that it's not nearly as well compartmentalized as my old bag. With my old one I could organize everything down to having its own separate compartment, but not as much with this one. I'm still on the learning curve of finding the best method/routine for packing everything I put in it, but having it more compartmentalized like a camera bag would be perfect for a pack like this. I almost ordered the National Geographic bag, as that would have been perfect for organizing everything I carry, but for $300+ for one that MIGHT fit my laptop (but maybe not), there was no way I was going to plunk down that much cash for a bag when I was seeing packs like this selling for less than $100 and getting high markings for their quality and durability.

Overall, I think this bag is an excellent choice for anyone looking to pack around a large laptop. Just be aware that if you carry a good amount of extra stuff, organizing it could prove to be a challenge.

I got a very large gaming laptop as desktop replacement, but needed a way to transport it on those rare occasions when I travel with it (I also have a tablet I use for most things). This bag is the only one I could find that fit my large new laptop (MainGear Nomad 17"). I've only used t for about 2 weeks, but am happy with my purchase. I mostly use it for walking/biking back and forth to work with my 15" work laptop, and it holds both sizes of computers securely. I haven't flown with it yet, but think it should fit under the seat or in the overhead ok unless I max it out. The back flap holds everything securely, which is both handy and a hassle when you need to get in/out of it.

PROS: The bag appears well built and will hopefully stand up to repeated use as a regular bag. It's quite large, and would probably be good for a 2-3 day trip if you pack light and get creative. The inner compartments are divided so you don't have a lot of room for bulky items like shoes, but you could probably attach them outside. It has a lot of good pockets, but their size/shape make it best for office/school supplies vice a camping/hiking pack.

CONS: There isn't a good water bottle pouch, as the mesh pockets on the back aren't deep enough to hold a container securely. I've found an empty water bottle will bounce out when going up/down stairs, although a full water bottle stays ok as long as you don't bounce around too much. The carrying handle is rugged, but I don't like the web that holds it, as it digs into my neck when I wear it while on my bike.

I can't believe we did not heed the warnings of the other smart people who posted negative reports about this product. This piece of crap arrived today and my son and I couldn't believe our eyes! It is about the size of a piece of paper, and will only hold a pencil case and a few pieces of folded paper. Who measured this and posted this lie? I am so angry that I wasted my money and time. Also, the straps were already unrattled and ripped. Unbelievable!

Amazon needs to remove this item or either post the truth. Having a child in the picture with the actual bookbag would help. I am an avid online shopper who has spent thousands of dollars shopping online since we live overseas.
