This is exactly the type of backpack purse I was looking for not too big or small, looks great and has a solid feel. There is no lining inside but the seams are finished well. There are no pockets on the inside, just the 4 that you can see from the outside 2 side zips, 1 big front zip and 1 small flat zip on the flap. The straps are nice and sturdy. I recommend this bag for daily toting and if you're looking for an overnight size, consider the larger version!

Hard to believe she was out hunting for another bag but this is a nice bag. It is well constructed, lots of space, and looks great.

I was very pleased by the design and weight of this pack. Like all packs I buy, I immediately cut a bunch of stuff off it and shortened the straps. With these modifications, it's a nearly perfect pack for me. I like to travel for months at a time with no more than 15 pounds on my back, and this pack makes it possible. You'll need to be a bit careful of it, as it's not a rough-and-tough pack made of thick, heavy material. With reasonable care, though, it should last a long time and provide great service.

This backpack is roomy and well build. It feels comfortable on my back even with my heavy work laptop and it doesn't look bulky yet it gives me enough space for all my junk including my lunch. The side pockets hold my 16oz coffee thermos and my water bottle perfectly.

After giving away my other SwissGear SmartScan backpack, I was concerned because I couldn't find it anywhere so I decided to go with this one. To be honest I like this one even better.

Great backpack it's serving me well after about 4 weeks of use. Took it with me on my honeymoon trip to Israel, and although I didn't bring a laptop, it carried my camera gear, phone, e-reader, AC adapters, and all kinds of other items, with no problems. Straps are strong, easy to adjust, and there are enough different pockets to stow away all kinds of stuff. Comfortable to wear in a range of climates, from desert heat to cool mountain air. Audio hookup comes in handy if you want to plug in.

My husband and I bought this backpack when it was the Deal of the Day about 3 months ago. I have never been so happy with a backpack in my entire life! I was student teaching this semester, and I had A LOT of things to lug around. I bought this laptop bag (or one very much like it) in 2008. It held up great until this year when my husband started using, walking 4 miles a day 5 days a week with it. Now the zippers have failed and I'm prepared to buy it again.

I think the audio pocket is silly I keep my iPod in my pocket so I can adjust it or change without having to take the pack off and dig for it, but that's just me.

First off, I have been using this for two months now on a daily basis.

I bought this sleeve for the Dell Inspiron 11.6" laptop, and I'm pretty happy with it. I was looking for a sleeve with a very snug fit, and this fits my laptop perfectly. There isn't any room for the power cord once the laptop's in the sleeve, but that's what I wanted. The case itself isn't really padded; it's just the thick fabric (which is tough and durable), so if you're looking for something with a little more cushion, you might want to get something else. The design on the case is pretty, and, even though I've only had it for about a week, I can tell it's made well and it's going to last for a while. It's a great deal, the price is good, and I'm really happy with my purchase.

Right now there are not a lot of options for the 11 inch macbook air, I picked this one because I liked the design and it's product description was the right size for my mba. This cover does fairly well, the only extra room is due to the thinness of the mba. That said, I do wish there was a big more padding to this cover. I'm not completely convinced this is the best protection for a mba, but If you are planning to use this cover for a netbook, I'm sure it will work great.

I ordered this for my husband as a small "bug-out" bag and he loves it!!

His previous bag was far to large and weighed to much even empty, so we began looking for something else.

We were very surprised at the number of pockets and compartments that this bag has to offer! It holds a ton of supplies!

Back compartment has one zipper area and one mesh, middle compartment has a mesh and a cloth pocket-minus a zipper, the front lower one has several small pockets for pens, lights, tools, lighter starters, surgical scissors, and many many other things. In this one bag I can hold everything needed to survive for a week. This includes emergency blankets, tents, sleeping bag, bug off, toothbrush (&paste), deodorant, duck-tape, multi-tool, flashlight, batteries, first-aid kit galore, compass, poncho, lightsticks, wire, paracord 50ft, water purification tablets and filtration, canteen, shave kit, fishing supplies, flares, more medical supplies, 100 rounds of 45 shells, 45 glock, dried food, binoculars, energy bars, and several other things I'm sure I forgot. This is of a maneuverable size and weight. Highly recommend!!

I bought this because of it's smaller size and it does not scream military. It looks like a simple black backpack with a military flavor. While it appears to have been made in China, I can't complain about the quality. I've intentionally abused it without any problems. It makes a great weekend bag or smallish bug-out-bag. I'm loading it with equipment and taking short hikes to help me lose weight and to give me an idea on what I need for a real hike through the mountains. I'm guessing it holds about 1600 cubic inches which is more than enough for a minimalist hiker. The top outside pocket fits my 600ml cook kit perfectly and the large pocket holds my hammock, tarp and sleeping bag with a little bit of room to spare. The middle pocket would easily hold a change of lightweight clothes and the larger outside pocket holds a small water filter with plenty of room left over for other items.

The molle design allows you to attach accessory pouches to the pack. I chose to add a couple of army canteens, but I found that I needed a tie-down strap to secure them in place, otherwise they would move back and forth as I walked causing me problems as they shifted. Once strapped down, the extra 5 pounds of water and bottles rode very well. My loaded pack weighs in at about 20 pounds and it rides very well on my back.

The belt does help, but it really is a minimalist style belt. It appears to be almost a design afterthought.

My only complaint is that I found the exact same pack at a local surplus store for less (where I bought the canteens).

I ordered this bag based on the reviews, everyone seemed to like it, as well as do I. The Bag itself is a great bag compatiable with the Molle System, and will hold plenty of items. The bag however is about half the size that it appears in the picture. It looks more like a kids bag. But I have not had any problems with the bag so far. Its probably gonna be a great 2day pack but no more.

I have had the bag for less than six months, and it has started to fall apart. I use it for my small laptop and take it to work everyday, so although it gets used everyday, it would say it's lite use. About a month ago, one of the plastic straps broke. Then today the entire side of the bag (top to bottom) ripped open.

Although I liked it in the beginning, I have to say it's junk.

I've used it once so far on a trip where I had non direct flights both ways so I was running from gate to gate. It's easy to both wheel around or attach to my back as a backpack as I did on one occasion. There is plenty of room in the main compartment. The flat front pocket is great for stashing my itinerary or a slim book or magazine. The pocket in front by the wheels is terrific for storing items you need to pull out quickly going through security.

It's looks really tough and it's a good looking bag. The pockets are quite large. It rolls well.

The only thing I didn't like is that the bottom, from the inside, is not flat. Meaning your clothes sit on the rails for the pulling handle so things tend to get wrinkled. I suppose you could put a piece of cardboard at the bottom and it would work.

This daypack is well-constructed and very well thought out by the designers. I use this pack for hunting and I love the gun holder straps and the small pockets that hold my different calls. The interior pouches are well-proportioned to hold extra hand-warmers and hat, gloves, etc. The waist band take the weight of my shoulder, which is a definite bonus with me.

Did not have as much room in the main pocket as I would have liked but was a good hunting pack.

Business Briefcase - Clear

I love the idea of having a "see through" briefcase that can facilitate entry into security checkpoints. I volunteer at a prison and this bag serves the aforementioned purpose. From a personal standpoint, it's great to see what I have in the bag without having to open it up. It helps speed up the packing process. This bag is solidly constructed with durable plastic and quality stitching.

On the negative side, the briefcase is a little too small for my liking (see dimensions in product description for details), the side pockets are too small to hold a water bottle (one side has elastic netting) or a standard size smart phone (pocket with Velcro secured flap).

In short, this briefcase stands out because of its transparent design, yet lacks the size and multiple compartments found in other types of shoulder strap business/messenger style bags.

It solidly serves its purpose as a "security friendly" briefcase.

I bought this for my husband to carry his stuff for work. (His company requires all employees to carry a clear bag) He is extremely pleased with the strength and durability. 2 Thumbs up!

Just received this today and am totally pleased. I ordered from and saved a few dollars on shipping. I spent days looking on the Internet for the right clear vinyl bag. I actually wanted something to use

1. in place of my beautiful painted leather Anuschka bag that cost a few hundred dollars and will look shabby with daily rugged use, and

2. to save all that time and frustration that I experience every day at having difficulty finding things.

The construction is fantastic excellent seams, well set zippers, very nice rolled handles, and a shoulder or cross body strap. Plenty of pockets for me but will not be losing things because I can SEE!!! The vinyl is both very thick and very clear. I had already purchased several clear vinyl pencil cases with zippers in pink and blue from Office Depot just popped them in and one opaque pencil case for my cash and checkbook. I am as thrilled as a kid! My laptop would easily fit in here, but that's not what I bought it for. Would like another one now for taking my make-up on trips!!!

This is not inexpensive when you include the shipping, but I got more than my money's worth. Going to MyClearBackpack.com convinced me that this is THE brand to buy if you're buying a clear vinyl bag or briefcase.

This actually looks a little different than the photo regular briefcase shaped, more rectangular, more zippered pouches larger, but not at all unwieldy.

Finally settled on this pack after shopping for a bit love its capacity and the way it looks. The only cons are 1) the faux leather pull-tabs on the zippers keep working themselves off and I'm afraid I'll lose one, and 2) there's no organizer in the small front pocket, which makes you have to dig around to find any small items, pens, change, etc....don't know why the left this out, they have one in so many of their other bags.

I travel a lot and was looking for something that I could use to replace my carry-on suitcase and laptop bag for the short trips where I only needed one or two changes of clothes. This past week I got to put it to the test on a whirl-wind trip to the west coast. I loaded up my laptop and clean clothes. The bag easily accommodated everything without feeling over stuffed. It made it through the trip however, mid-way through I noticed that one of the shoulder straps had started pulling away at the top... Not a good sign. I will be taking it back this week.

This backpack is a must when you purchase a Toshiba. There are more useful compartments than a submarine!The padded compartment for your laptop is perfect. There are separate compartments for your adapter, files etc. I do have a Samsonite backpack and I would take my Toshiba any day.

Timbuk2 Proof Backpack

I just got this bag in the mail today so this is just an initial review until its been tried and tested some more. My first impression is that it is a durable backpack. It easily fits my rather large 15x10 inch laptop in a nice padded velvet pocket. In fact I really see no need to put an extra case around your laptop when you have it in this pack. Even with my laptop it still has plenty of room to spare. I can easily fit three days worth of clothes and bathroom supplies in the bag with the laptop (I'm a male by the way haha).

Pros:

1. Durable

2. Great laptop compartment

3. Light

4. Fits well on shoulders

Cons:

1. Price (a little on the expensive side)

2. Color (I ordered the blue and black, and the blue is definitely a more navy/dark blue than the one in the picture)

3. Does not have a sternum strap (I think one would add a lot to the bag)

Note: I am 5'8" and the bag fits me well. However, I would not recommend it to anyone much shorter than 5'8" because its a relatively tall backpack.

Overall its a sound replacement to my old backpack. Its a little bit on the expensive side, but I'd recommend the bag.

This is a nice backpack for bicycle commuters. The pack is taller than most, but also thinner and less deep. That keeps it from shifting around on your back as you bike. A sternum or waist strap would help even more, so I'm knocking off one star for not including either. I suppose you could buy a sternum strap separately.

Note that this pack is not deep enough to hold a ton of school books, but you probably would not want to bike with that load anyway. I'm average height and on the skinny side and this pack fits me well. If you're a shorter guy or average sized woman, this pack may be too tall for you.

The laptop pocket is nicely padded and has a separate zipper access on the side (a nice feature). The Amazon description says the pack fits 17 inch laptops, but Timbuk2 hang tag advertises 15 inches. I suppose some larger laptops will fit, but some won't.

The U-lock pocket on the side of the pack is a real nice feature. It holds pretty securely, but an extra tie down strap would be nice. The pocket is also deep enough to hold a large bicycle water bottle.

Yes, the MSRP price is extremely high and it is not worth that price. However, since this pack has been discontinued, you should be able to buy it for less than half price, which is reasonable for a high quality pack that you use every day.

I've been a big fan of Timbuk2 bags. I have the medium Classic, and the large-sized Commute 2.0 messenger bags. They both still serve me well to this day. They're rather large for the amount of stuff I carry to work nowadays, so I was looking for something more compact, and the PROOF Backpack is just perfect for that.

As with all Timbuk2 bags, this one is well designed from its fit & comfort, to the well laid out compartments, and the overall quality.

The PROOF Backpack is a slightly tall bag, but not so tall that you look like you're about to climb Mt. Everest with it. I'm 5'10", and it fits me just right. When adjusting the shoulder straps to my liking, it sits high on my back, but I don't really mind that.

It's a pretty good looking backpack too. I have the black/gunmetal color, and it's not gaudy or obnoxious, nor is it plain and dull. I can comfortably wear it to the office, without worrying that I look like an overgrown elementary school student.

I love that the PROOF Backpack is very sleek and compact, meaning it doesn't bulge out that much at all. I don't have to worry about bumping into fellow bus/subway commuters behind me while wearing it. That said, don't expect to carry a ton of stuff in this bag.

I usually carry the following items in this backpack:

1) 13" MacBook Air in its neoprene sleeve (the laptop compartment can easily store a 17" laptop)

2) 10" tablet

3) laptop/phone/tablet chargers

4) mouse

5) portable hard drive

6) Xbox 360 controller

7) sunglasses w/ case

8) compact umbrella

9) water bottle on the side

It would be great if the PROOF Backpack had a sternum strap for added stability; but who really goes hiking or climbing with a 17" laptop? Although, this bag is designed for bicycling, so yeah, it would come in handy for that.

Lastly, like most other Timbuk2 bags, the PROOF is a little pricey, but totally worth the price for its overall quality and design. I was very happy to find this on sale on Amazon just recently.

quality wise this is a great backpack, and i love the laptop compartment as it is its own separate compartment rather than a pocket. This keeps the laptop flush on your back and more comfy then it moving around inside. also very durable and and great in all weather conditions. very ergonomic too

i give it 3 stars though because it is too tall... when you ride a road bike and get low on the drop bars, when you tilt your head up my helmet hits the top of the pack. no biggie for short rides and probably won't happen on a mountain bike or hybrid where your stance is less bent over, but after a 55 mile ride my neck hurt from the additional pressure i was putting to keep my head up.

i now use this for travelling tho and it is great for that... but for biking i now have something else.
