I bought this for a backpacking trip through and while it was good for preventing someone from stealing my entire pack it had some major drawbacks. First, it was cumbersome. It took a while to unwrap, even longer to repack, and fitting it over your pack and getting the lock on took 3-5 every single time. I've never used one of these before, and the design made perfect sense for what it is, but I still hated using it. On top of that, it was heavy. For backpackers who are trying to keep their packs light this thing definitely adds weight. Further, although it would prevent your backpack from being stolen when the holes are so big when the metal is stretched that anyone could get their hands inside your pack and steal most anything but a laptop (which would've been too big to fit through the holes). Not sure if I'll ever bring it with me when backpacking again.
