High Sierra 32-Inch Drop-Bottom Wheeled Duffel

High Sierra 32-Inch Drop-Bottom Wheeled Duffel,Carbon Gray/Tungsten/BlackMy wife and I travel a great deal and we've grown tired of the big 26" rectangular boxes for packing. While sturdy, they take up too much room so we decided on the switch to soft sided duffels. After considerable research, we found the High Sierra gear--as usual, at Amazon. We each purchased the 32" duffel and, for the price, were surprised at the quality and cleaver design. Seems well made and able to contain lots of gear. My only nit is that they measure the internal space by filling the bag with corn kernels or something small that will fill every nook and cranny. Realistically, the bag's cubic inches should be measured by multiplying width x depth x length. That equals 7440 cubic inches, somewhat short of the 7900 + they advertise. But, as I say, that's a small nit. Overall, we love the product.

This bag is okay. It has a ton of space and is sleekly designed. The drawbacks are the weight (at over 10 lbs, it's easy to max out the airline requirement of 50 lbs or less). Also, the zipper broke during my very first trip with this bag, but High Sierra is repairing it for me.

I HIGHLY Recommend ALL High Sierra products for the occasional traveler. The only problem with this product is that "some of the airlines" now consider this oversized luggage by about 1 1/2 inches. Check before you fly. Lots of room, lots of separate compartments, expandable to allow for those small gifts we tend to buy for the grandchilden and lower separate/zippered compartment makes it great for separating clothes from shoes, etc. It even has hidden shoulder straps for carrying while hiking, etc. Very good quality and should last for a long time.

This bag has traveled with me to the other side of the planet & along with my boyfriend who travels the country working on power lines. I do agree that it can easily max out weight limits though, as it does hold quite a bit of stuff.

So, I am a trip taker. I have traveled all around the globe and then some! I bought the smaller size version of this bag at a time when I was traveling 80% of my time. It's been through baggage claim after baggage claim and you can't even tell! (My Samsonite 21" suitcase showed wear after its first run on through an airport.) I am headed on a longer trip and decided that it was time to upgrade I bought this model today. I could wait to wait a review, but I already know from experience that it will hold up.

BTWif you are considering suitcases, don't get a Delsey. I had a wheel fall off it on its first trip to China! That was also its first trip through an airport.
