The design is great. It's a lovely bag for a small lunch and some accessories. Having the waterbottle pouch on the outside is handy when hiking (easy reach), and the bottle stays upright, not sloshing around inside the bag with, I dunno, dry socks and such.The issue we had is we put in a 12 oz water bottle, full, a small bag of snacks (couple of granola bars and some baked chips, two apples). We didn't make it half a mile on the hike when the bottom cord came loose from the bag. Just pulled right out. I could get it fixed, but I don't know that I'd bother. We purchased some other string bags that used flat ribbon-tape instead of strings, and they've been superb. I won't buy this style again.
